- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to Heavy mag How are you good?
- 0:03Speaker 2: Really good? How are you? I'm good?
- 0:05Speaker 3: I'm good, too bad. It's pointing into the wake, so
- 0:07Speaker 3: we're all good. So she to some exciting stuff happening
- 0:10Speaker 3: at the moment. Do you want to stop telling us
- 0:12Speaker 3: about what's been going on.
- 0:14Speaker 2: A lot? We just shut a beautiful music video. It's
- 0:17Speaker 2: gonna be out in a week. We're yeah, we're we're
- 0:21Speaker 2: about to release new singles, We're writing a concept album.
- 0:25Speaker 2: We're doing our first ever tour on the other side
- 0:29Speaker 2: of the world in Australia and Japan. So it's really
- 0:32Speaker 2: starting up. Yeah. This year is looking really busy and exciting.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Oh that's excellent.
- 0:37Speaker 3: So we can expect to see you guys down under
- 0:39Speaker 3: it Yeah yeah, what is that going to be happening here?
- 0:43Speaker 2: I think by the end of the year we'll have
- 0:44Speaker 2: an album. Yeah? Nice?
- 0:46Speaker 1: And you just have released an album. Have you a
- 0:49Speaker 1: single that you've released a single?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah, a single back in December? Yeah?
- 0:53Speaker 1: Nice? Nice? And so has that been tracking so far?
- 0:57Speaker 2: People love the new sound we're we're pulling a little
- 1:02Speaker 2: bit away from older sound. It's a bit more aggressive,
- 1:06Speaker 2: it's more honest, it's more Yeah. So we're keeping the
- 1:09Speaker 2: theatrical aspect, but we're being a little bit more raw and.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Aggressive as opposed to previous was a bit more of
- 1:16Speaker 3: the melodic style, a bit more.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Yeah, the melodic, the power, the happy, you know. Now
- 1:22Speaker 2: it's a bit more dramatic, a bit more honest, and
- 1:25Speaker 2: uh people love it.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah, so any music sence, you've kind of gone from
- 1:29Speaker 3: a a twain into an angry adolescent teenager your musical.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Growth, right exactly. It was the pain.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Faith This is how I really am. That's funny me.
- 1:44Speaker 3: So how does that feel? How does that feel for yourself?
- 1:46Speaker 3: Performing that? You know, in that more aggressive tone, is it.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Fight out? Is it more therapeutic?
- 1:55Speaker 2: Definitely. It's also easier for me to sing because I
- 2:00Speaker 2: don't have to force myself, yeah, to sound a certain way,
- 2:03Speaker 2: and like it just comes out naturally. It's even the
- 2:07Speaker 2: aggressiveness is gentler on my voice somehow, so.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Like you can identify with that as a bellow female vocalist.
- 2:16Speaker 3: And in the heavy style, I don't sing pretty. I
- 2:18Speaker 3: sing loud and yeah.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Yeah yeah yeah, famili yeah I can do. I had
- 2:22Speaker 2: to do it and it was fun, but it's a different,
- 2:25Speaker 2: like you have to particulate singing differently.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, and that's you know, credits the vocal range
- 2:31Speaker 3: that you have. I guess as well, and I think
- 2:33Speaker 3: I know with myself. You know, the older I've got,
- 2:35Speaker 3: the more able my voice has been able to do
- 2:38Speaker 3: that and carry me through when it's just it's easier
- 2:41Speaker 3: for me than to sing the pretty star right yeah, yeah, yeah, same, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:47Speaker 1: More girls in rock, like you know, power to you?
- 2:49Speaker 3: So are you there's self and believe they are two
- 2:53Speaker 3: females in the band.
- 2:54Speaker 1: How many of us out in with yourselves?
- 2:58Speaker 2: So it's five us, the three the three that departed,
- 3:03Speaker 2: plus you know, we have bass and drums and we
- 3:07Speaker 2: found really talented musicians for that and they're part of
- 3:11Speaker 2: the band. They're not just tired musicians. So we're excited
- 3:14Speaker 2: to see how everything develops with them. But they're really talented.
- 3:18Speaker 1: So excellent, excellent, yeah.
- 3:20Speaker 3: And so previous do you say you had like a
- 3:22Speaker 3: lineup change as well as a sound change, and you
- 3:25Speaker 3: did that come with the like the lineup change changing
- 3:27Speaker 3: the direction of your sound?
- 3:30Speaker 2: Oh absolutely, yeah, yeah yeah yeah, because now we have
- 3:33Speaker 2: full creative control, so we can decide everything and so
- 3:37Speaker 2: our taste shines through and what the choice we make
- 3:41Speaker 2: are hours. So it's absolutely different. We're i mean, we
- 3:46Speaker 2: still want to keep it theatrical and some elements that
- 3:49Speaker 2: you know, defined us from before. Yeah, but it's like
- 3:52Speaker 2: we're evolved. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, even the Paul, Yeah,
- 3:56Speaker 2: the costumes, everything is evolved. And you know, so we
- 4:01Speaker 2: love that lot.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I love the theriggle on the performative side of you know,
- 4:04Speaker 3: when bands get right into that. So tell it, tell
- 4:07Speaker 3: us and the listeners a bit more about how your
- 4:10Speaker 3: selves go about that, what we're previously doing in costume
- 4:13Speaker 3: in stagewise as to what the direction is now.
- 4:17Speaker 2: So before it was nons and now we're priestesses, so
- 4:21Speaker 2: the range is level.
- 4:23Speaker 1: That's a total turns love it.
- 4:26Speaker 2: The hierarchy is hired. Is definitely a hierarchy, yeah, yeah,
- 4:31Speaker 2: priestess is. Yeah, they have much more control on whatever
- 4:34Speaker 2: order and the way of thinking they're trying to spread.
- 4:39Speaker 2: But the costumes are also different. It's much more pre higher,
- 4:47Speaker 2: higher priestess and it still has all the lethurgical elements.
- 4:54Speaker 2: But yeah, it's not then you know, non typical costumes
- 5:00Speaker 2: that was before.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Maybe we might find one shred it up and it
- 5:04Speaker 3: might makes an appearance, you know, and down the track. Yeah,
- 5:07Speaker 3: it's a throwback to your former days, completely rearranged and
- 5:12Speaker 3: we're burning I.
- 5:14Speaker 2: We'll do it. Well, that's a good idea. Actually, I
- 5:16Speaker 2: might put it in a music video like we're going
- 5:18Speaker 2: to burn your boss.
- 5:19Speaker 1: To Yeah, make an averaging of it somehow, and just
- 5:21Speaker 1: like you know with the new I A for sure,
- 5:25Speaker 1: probably good idea, good idea. I would argue, like, no,
- 5:30Speaker 1: that's all good excepts.
- 5:31Speaker 3: And it's fun when you get to even do that
- 5:33Speaker 3: sort of stuff and you can take that theme and
- 5:35Speaker 3: anyway you say, you can have fun with it and
- 5:37Speaker 3: it really makes you know, it expands that music experience
- 5:40Speaker 3: for not just yourselves but your fans in the audience.
- 5:42Speaker 1: And you know the.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Video obviously you know you've got more creative aspect there.
- 5:46Speaker 1: But you know when you go on stage two, when.
- 5:47Speaker 3: You do live stuff, that's when you really throw some
- 5:50Speaker 3: fun out without having to turn to pyrotechniques so to speak.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Well, yeah, people really relate to things when they're storytelling,
- 5:58Speaker 2: and it's so much more of experience if you create
- 6:02Speaker 2: a world. And of course, yeah, yeah, aesthetic is a
- 6:06Speaker 2: big part of that. You know, esthetic is also a
- 6:09Speaker 2: way to tell a story. So for sure, if people
- 6:12Speaker 2: get a lot like fans get really really passionate about
- 6:16Speaker 2: the project, especially when there's this aspect of the performance involved.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I know that's awesome, and so they can
- 6:23Speaker 3: be sure, you know, they get to do almost like
- 6:25Speaker 3: a close play and they get to dress up with
- 6:27Speaker 3: you when it's something I've seen that.
- 6:29Speaker 2: And also again like if if if there's not much
- 6:33Speaker 2: of yourself but more of a character on stage, they
- 6:36Speaker 2: can project themselves even more into it because it's less
- 6:41Speaker 2: so much of like a person and more of a
- 6:44Speaker 2: symbol or the concept. Yeah, yeah, no, absolutely, I.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Think that's all my stum. You know part of the
- 6:55Speaker 1: metal genre, isn't it.
- 6:56Speaker 3: That's the extra element that we have is that you know,
- 6:59Speaker 3: there's performance, performance and theatrical album side to it that
- 7:04Speaker 3: you know, it takes that real face and and our
- 7:07Speaker 3: listeners can identify in so many different ways and different
- 7:10Speaker 3: levels in it, you know, kind of it's a way
- 7:13Speaker 3: to expand you know that that you have in just
- 7:16Speaker 3: different ways as well as your music. It's not just
- 7:18Speaker 3: that they're connecting with it's a whole way you say,
- 7:20Speaker 3: it's a whole theme and like a character and you know,
- 7:24Speaker 3: you know, characters take on all my life of their
- 7:26Speaker 3: own really I think, actually creative aspect.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Yeah, like the Lord of the Rings before Obsessed. So
- 7:35Speaker 2: there's you know, it's horrible. Yeah, yeah, that's so true.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So true. And so with your your fans, do you
- 7:43Speaker 1: find that you've got a wide fan base, you know,
- 7:45Speaker 1: from young to the old and everything in between, or
- 7:48Speaker 1: do you sort of tracking?
- 7:51Speaker 2: Yeah, because the older fan base, you know, that relates
- 7:56Speaker 2: so much to the eighties nostalgia. Yeah. And the younger
- 8:01Speaker 2: fans they, I don't know, they love it.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Young people like anything these days, you can never guess.
- 8:09Speaker 2: No, no, definitely not. But you know they're open minded.
- 8:14Speaker 2: So they see a project like this and that's true.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, no, absolutely.
- 8:17Speaker 3: And it's always funny when they find something on TikTok
- 8:21Speaker 3: and they go, oh, it's new and they think it's
- 8:23Speaker 3: new and it's really been around ages fine viral.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Like oh my god.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Yes, it always makes me google when the young ones
- 8:35Speaker 3: think they've discovered something new and it's right. I keep
- 8:40Speaker 3: thinking that it's good. Son makes you readjusted and think,
- 8:44Speaker 3: ship have I been around for that long? Like you know,
- 8:46Speaker 3: a whole generation is like skipped and like not even noticed,
- 8:49Speaker 3: and it's like refreshing.
- 8:53Speaker 1: It's humble, likely refreshing.
- 8:56Speaker 2: For sure.
- 8:57Speaker 1: So what are the plans for later in the plan?
- 8:59Speaker 3: So I'm going tocuse me release that new album as well, and.
- 9:04Speaker 2: We're dropping a few singles and music videos for the summer,
- 9:07Speaker 2: and then we'll have an album by the the end
- 9:09Speaker 2: of the year, probably maybe beginning of twenty twenty seven.
- 9:12Speaker 2: But and then we're planning on a surprise tour after
- 9:18Speaker 2: the summer. But I can't say anything, and you know,
- 9:23Speaker 2: the rest is not set in stone yet, but this
- 9:27Speaker 2: is what's set in stone.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Well that's good.
- 9:30Speaker 3: It gives you some room to move and so hopefully
- 9:32Speaker 3: some more surprises come your way and you get to
- 9:36Speaker 3: impress the fans and experience and some traveling yourself, getting
- 9:39Speaker 3: out there with the band and exactly for sure. Well,
- 9:43Speaker 3: congratulations on your new single release and the upcoming out
- 9:46Speaker 3: and it sounds very exciting and the new change off
- 9:48Speaker 3: as well, everything you've got going on. Yeah, we are
- 9:52Speaker 3: very much looking forward to watch this space, keep an
- 9:54Speaker 3: eye on you guys and see where it takes too, hopefully.
- 9:57Speaker 2: So yeah, me too. Yeah, very we're coming on now.
- 10:02Speaker 2: We're coming on June twenty fourth, first show. We have
- 10:05Speaker 2: four shows in excellent. Yeah, Sydney, Brisbane, birth and what
- 10:11Speaker 2: is it Melbourne? And yeah, so by end of June.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Is it the first time that you yourself have been
- 10:17Speaker 3: out here or have you been out before?
- 10:20Speaker 2: No, it's the first time. I've never even been as
- 10:22Speaker 2: a tourist.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Oh wow, No, that's awesome.
- 10:26Speaker 3: So have you got anything that you're hoping to do
- 10:28Speaker 3: while you're out here?
- 10:28Speaker 1: Other than obviously.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Before kangaroos.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Used to be just like whistle it in like the
- 10:36Speaker 1: pet dog. I will say the hearts that.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Yes, they literally do rome freely ish but for the
- 10:44Speaker 3: most part you'll have to probably go to her while.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Told us that they're going to take us.
- 10:50Speaker 1: So you gotta watch the goalas Oh.
- 10:56Speaker 2: That's fine too, there's super but yeah, planning on planning
- 11:02Speaker 2: on that, planning to see Kohl and.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Kangaroos, Oh nice, nice, and and all the other standard
- 11:07Speaker 3: stuff that you do. But I'm sure you'll absolutely love
- 11:10Speaker 3: it here.
- 11:10Speaker 2: When I want to go there, is it going to
- 11:12Speaker 2: be a winter?
- 11:13Speaker 3: It's winter, but like I mean, I live close to
- 11:15Speaker 3: Brisbane and like it's you know twenty in your let
- 11:19Speaker 3: you meet to low twenties is like our winter. Oh
- 11:25Speaker 3: that's selsiest too, by the way, so you know you will.
- 11:28Speaker 3: It's it's not too chilling and it's not too hot.
- 11:30Speaker 2: It's all right.
- 11:31Speaker 1: It's probably ideal to be honest. Excellent.
- 11:35Speaker 3: So are you guys headlining when you come out or
- 11:37Speaker 3: you've got other battle the bill with you?
- 11:40Speaker 2: Well, no, we're headlining.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Oh excellent, excellent, And you have local supports that you've
- 11:44Speaker 3: got support yep for to seeing you and hopefully you
- 11:48Speaker 3: never know show yet.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Now we've got that part sort of.
- 11:53Speaker 2: I'll come to one of the shows and I'll see
- 11:55Speaker 2: you there for sure.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I mean Brisbane and doing it reviewing sorry gigs quite
- 12:01Speaker 3: regularly for the magazine. So yeah, all the best with
- 12:05Speaker 3: the new the rest of the new releases and hopefully
- 12:07Speaker 3: a new album by the end of the year.
