- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. Last time, we saw
- 0:09how God called Moses through a burning bush and
- 0:12gave him a special job, to go back to Egypt and
- 0:16help rescue the Israelites. Today, we'll hear
- 0:21what happened when Moses finally obeyed and stood
- 0:24before Pharaoh, the powerful king of Egypt. Would
- 0:29Pharaoh listen? And how would God show his mighty
- 0:33power? Are you ready? Let's jump in. After hearing
- 0:48God's voice, Moses was still unsure. He didn't
- 0:53think he was the right person for the job. But
- 0:56God promised to be with him and even sent his
- 0:59brother Aaron to help speak. So Moses and Aaron
- 1:03returned to Egypt, just as God had said. When
- 1:08they arrived, they went to Pharaoh with a message
- 1:11from God. Let my people go. Pharaoh was not impressed.
- 1:18He didn't believe in the God of Israel and he
- 1:22refused to listen. So God gave Moses a sign to
- 1:26show Pharaoh. Aaron threw down his staff, and
- 1:30it turned into a snake. Pharaoh's magicians did
- 1:34the same with their magic tricks, but Aaron's
- 1:37snake swallowed up all the others. It was clear,
- 1:41God's power was greater. But Pharaoh still said
- 1:45no. God told Moses to go back to Pharaoh again
- 1:50and again, saying, Let my people go so that they
- 1:55may worship me. But each time Pharaoh refused.
- 2:00So God sent ten plagues, one by one, to show
- 2:05his power and rescue his people. The Nile, Egypt's
- 2:10main source of water, turned to blood, the fish
- 2:14died, and the water stank. Frogs filled every
- 2:17house, bed, and ball. Gnats swarmed the land.
- 2:22tiny bugs everywhere. Then came flies, buzzing
- 2:27all around and making life miserable. The Egyptians'
- 2:32animals got sick and died. Egyptians' skin broke
- 2:36out in painful sores and boils. Hail came crashing
- 2:41down with thunder and fire, ruining fields. Locusts
- 2:46covered the land and ate what was left. Then
- 2:49came darkness for three days. no one could see
- 2:53anything. Each time, God showed his control over
- 2:57nature. But Pharaoh's heart stayed hard. The
- 3:02people of Egypt were hurting, but Pharaoh refused
- 3:05to let the Israelites go. Still, Moses obeyed
- 3:10God, plague after plague. God was showing everyone
- 3:15that he was stronger than any king, and that
- 3:18he cared about his people. God had one final
- 3:22plague, and this one would be more devastating
- 3:25than all the earlier ones. We will look more
- 3:29into it next time. Even when it was difficult,
- 3:37Moses kept going because God told him to. Sometimes
- 3:43obeying God means waiting and trusting, even
- 3:46when we don't see results right away. But God
- 3:50never forgets his promises, and he never stops
- 3:54caring for his people. Let's take a moment to
- 3:58think together. When Moses first asked Pharaoh
- 4:02to let the Israelites go, Pharaoh made things
- 4:06worse for the Israelites instead. Have you ever
- 4:10tried to do the right thing but things got worse
- 4:13instead of better? Do you sometimes feel like
- 4:18giving up when things are hard? Can you think
- 4:23of a time when God helped you keep going? God
- 4:28sees you, just like he saw his people in Egypt.
- 4:32And he is strong enough to help, even when things
- 4:36seem impossible. Thanks for joining me today.
- 4:42Next time. We'll find out what happens after
- 4:45all the plagues. Will Pharaoh finally let the
- 4:49Israelites go? And how will God make a way for
- 4:53them to escape safely? Until next time, remember,
- 4:57you are wonderfully made, and God is with you
- 5:01every step of the way. Bye for now.
