  Bible Stories for Children. Last time, we saw

  how God called Moses through a burning bush and

  gave him a special job, to go back to Egypt and

  help rescue the Israelites. Today, we'll hear

  what happened when Moses finally obeyed and stood
• 0:24
  before Pharaoh, the powerful king of Egypt. Would

  Pharaoh listen? And how would God show his mighty
• 0:33
  power? Are you ready? Let's jump in. After hearing

  God's voice, Moses was still unsure. He didn't
• 0:53
  think he was the right person for the job. But
• 0:56
  God promised to be with him and even sent his
• 0:59
  brother Aaron to help speak. So Moses and Aaron

  returned to Egypt, just as God had said. When

  they arrived, they went to Pharaoh with a message
• 1:11
  from God. Let my people go. Pharaoh was not impressed.

  He didn't believe in the God of Israel and he
• 1:22
  refused to listen. So God gave Moses a sign to
• 1:26
  show Pharaoh. Aaron threw down his staff, and
• 1:30
  it turned into a snake. Pharaoh's magicians did
• 1:34
  the same with their magic tricks, but Aaron's
• 1:37
  snake swallowed up all the others. It was clear,
• 1:41
  God's power was greater. But Pharaoh still said
• 1:45
  no. God told Moses to go back to Pharaoh again
• 1:50
  and again, saying, Let my people go so that they
• 1:55
  may worship me. But each time Pharaoh refused.

  So God sent ten plagues, one by one, to show
• 2:05
  his power and rescue his people. The Nile, Egypt's
• 2:10
  main source of water, turned to blood, the fish
• 2:14
  died, and the water stank. Frogs filled every
• 2:17
  house, bed, and ball. Gnats swarmed the land.
• 2:22
  tiny bugs everywhere. Then came flies, buzzing
• 2:27
  all around and making life miserable. The Egyptians'
• 2:32
  animals got sick and died. Egyptians' skin broke
• 2:36
  out in painful sores and boils. Hail came crashing
• 2:41
  down with thunder and fire, ruining fields. Locusts
• 2:46
  covered the land and ate what was left. Then
• 2:49
  came darkness for three days. no one could see
• 2:53
  anything. Each time, God showed his control over
• 2:57
  nature. But Pharaoh's heart stayed hard. The
• 3:02
  people of Egypt were hurting, but Pharaoh refused
• 3:05
  to let the Israelites go. Still, Moses obeyed
• 3:10
  God, plague after plague. God was showing everyone
• 3:15
  that he was stronger than any king, and that
• 3:18
  he cared about his people. God had one final
• 3:22
  plague, and this one would be more devastating
• 3:25
  than all the earlier ones. We will look more

  into it next time. Even when it was difficult,

  Moses kept going because God told him to. Sometimes

  obeying God means waiting and trusting, even
• 3:46
  when we don't see results right away. But God

  never forgets his promises, and he never stops
