- 0:04SPEAKER_01: Alrighty, well, let's get started.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: Alright, you done yawning?
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: Am I done boring you?
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: Gosh.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: Did I yawn?
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Yep, okay, I'm dead.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Wait, did me mention that you're yawning made you yawn again?
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Jesus.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, at least I'm not a sociopath.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Alright, let us start.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: This is The Opinionated Ogre Podcast, your weekly ramp And this is my co-host, Florida Woman.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Hello, Florida Woman.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Hello.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: Are you excited about American troops getting hopped up on testosterone
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: and going sterile because Pete Hegsatz is a moron who actually believes all
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: the stupid shit he reads on the internet?
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: All I could think about was people,
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: there's this Lifetime movie from a long time ago and the husband was doing a lot
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: of testosterone and then he beat her to death.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Personally, I'm all in favor of this.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: It's natural self-selection.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: They're going to shrink their testicles and bleach the gene pool.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: They're just going to sterilize themselves and, you know, it's going to be great.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: It's going to make America great again.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Well, my question...
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: Well, my question is,
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: are they going to have an option as to whether or not they
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: want to take it?
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: No, it's not mandatory.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Oh, my God.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Are you kidding me?
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: For the people who say vaccinations can't be mandatory,
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: they're going to make testosterone mandatory?
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: That would be hilarious.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: That would be insane.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: Well, first of all, I wouldn't put it past them because we live in the stupidest timeline.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: We do.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: So...
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: Alright,
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: this is the recording for July 23rd,
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: 2026, and we have a lot to get to on episode 106 of the Og Pod.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Are we ready to do this?
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: No, yes.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Well, we're doing it anyway, so let's get to it.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: It's time for the Ogre Nation news update.
- 2:05Meow.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Meow.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: So Trump addressed the nation last week and it was every bit as stupid as we expected.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: During his primetime address,
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: he claimed that the Chinese interfered in the 2020 election and
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: that it was covered up by the quote unquote deep state.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: But remember, he was the deep state in 2020.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: And there's no evidence that China interfered.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Not that that's ever stopped him before.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: It's only the deep
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: state when other people do it.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Right, exactly.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: He specifically mentioned China having American election data.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: And we all know that China has our data.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: I joke about it all the time.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: And specifically data that's publicly available.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: But there's no proof that they used it to intervene.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: Also, Trump didn't give a single fuck about our data in 2016
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: when Cambridge Analytica harvested Facebook data from over 50 million Americans
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: to create psych profiles on them to deliver targeted ads.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Trump also didn't care that Russia bought hundreds of thousands of dollars
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: in Facebook ads in 2016 to push pro-Trump propaganda.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: That was also highly targeted, suspiciously so.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: They literally paid in, how do you say, rubles?
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Rubles.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: Rubles.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: They literally paid in rubles.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: They didn't even bother disguising what they were doing, but it was all a hoax, right?
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: Just a hoax.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Just ask Matt Taibbi and Glenn Greenwald.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and as we always say, every accusation, every accusation is a confession.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: Trump also claimed, quote,
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, CISA,
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: under Trump 1, said,
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: and I quote, the November 3rd election was the most secure in American history.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: And, quote,
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: there's no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes,
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: changed votes, or was in any way compromised.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Well, that sure is uncomfortable for him.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: It's almost like his own people were telling him he was lying.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: And if you recall,
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: when they released that statement,
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: the guy who was in charge of CISA was like fired or something.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: He was
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: targeted for retaliation.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he wasn't towing the company line.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: Second, the government has warned about election vulnerabilities for years,
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: but when Trump won in 2016, he called all of those concerns a hoax.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: Nothing to see here, folks.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: And he mocks it constantly when he says, Russia, Russia, Russia.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: So as predictably Crazy as his address was,
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: reporting indicates that we actually got the toned down version,
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: which is not shocking at all.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: Politico reported that Acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte wanted
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: to reveal the names of intelligence officials.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: The regime claimed had kept, quote, election interference proof from Trump.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: But Trump's team,
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: including Chief of Staff Susie Wiles,
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: freaked out about the possibility of putting intelligence officials' lives at risk.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: Which, thank God, right?
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: These fucking people.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: And honestly,
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: the only reason that Trump didn't say it because he didn't know their names off
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: the top is that otherwise he definitely would have blurted it out.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm sure he would have.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: And this is from the Politico report.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: Quote, Palti got really scared by the whole thing and pulled back,
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: said one of two senior officials.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: Quote, he got POTUS all spun up and then was incredibly scared
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Simultaneously,
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: several Trump officials urged the president to remain restrained and on script,
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: a notoriously difficult task for the president,
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: whose aides often learn what the president is going to say as he says it.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: Quote, they explain the way to be taken seriously is not to be crazy.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, wow, this is the fucking world we live in.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: The combination of a full court press from some aides and Pulte's retreat convinced
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: the president to stay, quote, on the rails, as a senior official put it.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: Now, here's a fun fact about all of this.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Trump, while he was rambling and babbling,
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: he was screaming that he had classified a bunch of documents that prove
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: that China tampered with our elections.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Now, they're still heavily redacted,
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: of course,
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: because he doesn't But what you can see in those documents
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: that he very stupidly redacted do prove that the
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: The elections were in fact tampered with by Russia on behalf of Trump
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: because Trump is so fucking stupid.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: He literally declassified more evidence proving he's a Russian puppet.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: And I'll be waiting for my apology from Matt Taibbi and Glenn Greenwald.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: You know, the it's all a hoax.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: It's all been a hoax the whole time, which I'm sure will be coming any second.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, for sure.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: Definitely.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: That's going to.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: Now, let us move on to our next story.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: As we roll into the fifth month of Trump's two weeks war,
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: the Iran war is deeply, deeply unpopular with the American people.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: We've talked about this a lot on this show because it's still going on.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: The greatest military genius in American history launched Ogre Pack without any kind
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: of plan other than blow things up for the cameras.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: No long-term goal other than topple the government and hope for the best.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: There was zero thought about how to end this war because it was assumed
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: a new government would take over and bend the knee.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: So why bother planning for an exit strategy if things went sideways?
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: We're America!
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: We never lose!
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: Except for, you know, Vietnam and Korea and Iraq and Afghanistan.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: But, you know, America.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: Fuck yeah!
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: Fuck yeah!
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Fuck yeah!
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: Everyone who's serious about keeping Americans alive told Trump this was a really stupid idea.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Even J.D.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: fucking Vance said this was a stupid idea before he let himself become
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: the face of—actually, he didn't let himself.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: He didn't have a choice, but—
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: Boo-hoo for
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: him.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Now,
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: it should be noted that when Secretary of Defense list Pete Hegseth was being raked
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: over the coals by Congress for why he was so fucking bad at his job
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: that he was losing a war to a third-rate military and needed billions
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: of dollars more to keep losing,
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: the best answer he could come up with was blaming Joe Biden.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: It really did that.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: That's the thing that happened.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: So now we're back at full scale war just to get back to the status quo and trying
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: to get the Strait of Hormuz open again.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: And now the Houthis are threatening to close the Red Sea,
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: which would be a huge blow to international commerce and even more of
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: an energy crunch because a lot of oil goes through that area too.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Now, It's weird.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: Like last year, when the Houthis started attacking Israel, I wrote an article.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: Actually, it might have been more than a year ago at this point.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: I'd have to check.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: A lot of people on the alt-left were cheering for the Houthis,
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: which I thought was disgusting because the Houthis are slavers
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: and they are pedophiles.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: We talked about this on the podcast.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it was like, you can't cheer for them.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: You can't.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: They're bad people.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: They're absolutely horrible fucking people.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: And just because they're fighting Israel does not make them the good guys.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: And here...
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: We'll be the same thing.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: There's going to be people who are saying,
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: it's like, well, you know, they're opposing the American empire, blah, blah, blah.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: They're still bad people.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: It's entirely possible to have two sides in a fight where there are no good guys.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: They're slavers and they rape children.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: Don't do that.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Now, so while this is happening,
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Iran is starting to blow up critical infrastructure all across the Gulf region again
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: because this is the thing that they threaten to do.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: If you attack them, they're going to blow up.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: You know, refineries and pumps and oil pumping stations.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: And that's their, it's not their trump card, that's their threat.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: If you attack them, they're going to cripple all of the energy infrastructure.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: As that's also happening,
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: The Economist reported that the war has a net approval rating of minus 30%.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: To put that in perspective, it took the Vietnam War six years to get to that point.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: This war is not even six months old yet.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: Americans hate this war for its devastating economic impact,
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: which is It's going to get worse now because oil prices are going up and so is
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: the price of gas.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: We also hate it for the stop getting us into fucking idiotic forever war thing.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: We're all very tired of that after 20 years of it.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: And now there's another.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: This is from the New York fucking Times.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: Quote,
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: According to several U.S.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: officials who spoke under condition of anonymity to discuss operational matters.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: But the Pentagon did not disclose the early strikes,
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: nor the casualties and damages they inflicted.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: Another service member was killed shortly after the New York Times.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: This article was written,
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: meaning that more than 400 service members have been injured,
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: and so far, 17 have died in a war that has been raging for less than five months.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: The Pentagon used to release the number of troops who were injured.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: They also alleged that reported injuries could actually endanger troops because
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: the Iranians would know where they should launch their attack.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: So, um,
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Our response, our official response here at the odd pod is, fuck you.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: That's a whole lot of bullshit.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: The government released those figures for fucking decades when we were fighting
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: in Afghanistan and Iraq.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: But we're supposed to believe that suddenly it's a threat to service.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: No, absolutely fucking not.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: These are the people who tell us with a straight face,
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: they're the most transparent administration in history.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: And remember, because take a step back in time.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: These are the same fucking people.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: Republicans screamed bloody murder about Obama and Biden being secretive.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: And the press went along with it for years.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: One of the podcasts I listen to, the Professional Left Podcast.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: They talk about this all the fucking time.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: In 2009,
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: just a few months after Barack Obama was sworn in,
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: a woman named Michelle Malkin, remember Michelle Malkin?
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: She published a book called Culture of Confidence.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: She started writing this book before he was even president.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: And the legacy press ate it up.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: The same legacy press that ate that bullshit up.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: It was obviously bullshit.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: It's like you can't have a corrupt administration if you don't have an administration yet.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: But they were like, oh, my God, oh, he's so corrupt.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: And we have to talk about this.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: That same legacy press is right now pretending that all this bullshit that
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: the Trumpers What the regime is doing is totally fucking normal.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: That's because Republicans are not held to a lower standard.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: They're held to no fucking standard at all.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: When a Democratic president is back in power in 2029,
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: Every military official involved
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: with following these corrupt orders must be fucking fired.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: They had a choice to do the right thing and they chose wrong.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: Pete Hegseth is poisoning the Pentagon and that rot can We cannot be allowed to fester.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: It all has to fucking be purged, just like they do on the Supreme Court.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: All that fucking rot has to be fucking purged and the rule of law has to be restored.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: We cannot fucking continue.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: The press and the right are going to be like, oh, my God, it's political persecution.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no, no.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: All the shit they're doing right now to the military where they're firing all
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: the black, all the black, not officials.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: All the black officers and all the women, that's political fucking persecution.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: That's being done for ideology.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: All these fucking people who are doing shit they know is wrong
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: because they're putting fucking ideology before their fucking country.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: Those are the people who have to be fucking.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: And it's not because of politics.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: It's because they are shitting on everything this country and
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: the military is supposed to stand for.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: And when they cry about it, Boo fucking hoo.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: You knew better and you did it anyway.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: Now go fuck off.
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: Well, I love when you get to ranting.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: So we're going to move on now to something that I just love to talk about.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: We now know more about the agent who murdered 25-year-old Juan Sebastian Guerrero.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: Do Help me out here.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: Brouillette, I think it was.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: I heard it.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: Well, he's an Army veteran with a history of racist, violent behavior.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: Family of the killer says that he struggled with mental health problems
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: since childhood and that he should...
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: His ex-wife Ashley told the media that she didn't believe him
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: when he told her last year that he'd been hired by ICE because she couldn't believe
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: that
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: a law enforcement agency would hire somebody that had such a severe mental illness.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: It wasn't until she saw the videos online of the aftermath of Guerrero's death
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: that she realized that he was telling the truth.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Ashley and his daughter Madison who I believe is 18 She divorced him in 2009
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: after she got pregnant and he started beating her,
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: which takes a real nasty human being to start beating somebody
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: when they get pregnant.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: I mean, beating somebody all the time, but...
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: What'd you say?
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: What a man?
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: What a manly man.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: Pete Hexeth would probably want to give him testosterone.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, you got to make sure he keeps up that level of violence against the enemy.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: He even threw boiling water at her while she was holding baby Madison.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: I got to say, when you sent me this video on TikTok, right?
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: You sent that in a... Yeah, yeah, of her talking.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: When I saw that, my first reaction was, this cannot This cannot fucking be real.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: This can't be a real,
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: I didn't think it was AI,
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: but I didn't think it was the real person talking about this guy.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: I was like, this can't be real.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: This has to be bullshit.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: And this was my actual thought process.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: There's no fucking way they would put this guy in law enforcement and give him
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: a fucking gun and badge.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: There's no fucking way.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: Like, this would show up in even the most bad, Bullshit cursory vetting process.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: And he'd be like, yeah, no, we can't give this fucking guy a gun.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: There's no fucking way we would give this guy a gun.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: And then I poked around and was like, nope, there it is in the fucking news.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: This is a real thing.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: He really fucking did this.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I too did not believe it when I first saw it.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: But I don't know why I was surprised.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: So not only did he beat his first ex-wife,
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: but court records show that he abused his second ex-wife, Lucinda, as well.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: She also had children with him.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: And she wrote a statement that I'm going to read in its entirety because I think
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: that she deserves it.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: So just give me one second.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Ordinarily,
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: we wouldn't read such a long statement,
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: but I just want you guys to understand how fucking deplorable these people are.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: Oh my God, you can't call them deplorable.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: That's terrible.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: That's just so uncalled for.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: You're tearing this country apart.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: This statement begins, Good morning.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: My name is Lucinda.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: This is my response to your questions regarding my experience or knowledge
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: of my ex-husband, David Burlett.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: Before anything else,
- 20:47SPEAKER_01: I want to express my deepest condolences to the victims,
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: their loved ones, and everything.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: My heart is with all of those who are grieving.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: For several days, I have watched these events unfold alongside the rest of the country.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: I have intentionally been careful not to speculate about the incident itself.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: I was not there.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: I do not know exactly what happened,
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: and I believe the facts should be determined by investigators and
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: the justice system, not by public opinion.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: What I can speak to is my own experience.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: If you were to ask me whether I believe David Burlett is capable of this level
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: of violence, my answer is unequivocally yes.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: That belief is not based on speculation, but on my own lived experience.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: And I often believe that I would be on the
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: I would be the one on the receiving end of it.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: I was married to David Burlett through his entire military career.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: During those years,
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: and for many years after our marriage ended,
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: I experienced a persistent pattern of abuse and
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: On multiple occasions, David's physical abuse was witnessed by friends and family.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: The emotional,
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: psychological,
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: and physical scars of those experiences have remained with me long
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: after our marriage has ended.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: One of the most difficult aspects of that relationship was fear of retaliation.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: Throughout our marriage and long afterward,
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: I believe that whenever I spoke up,
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: challenged him, or sought help, there would be consequences.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: That fear influenced countless decisions I made,
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: including when and how I reported what I was experiencing.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: David often spoke to me about his military intelligence background and
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: the specialized skills he believed it gave him.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: He frequently portrayed him They contributed to an environment of fear
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: that made it harder to believe I could safely stand up to him.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: Throughout the years I brought my concerns to law enforcement,
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: the courts, and the Department of Health and Human Services.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: I tried to explain what I believed was a long pattern of abuse,
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: intimidation,
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: manipulation,
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: and controlling behavior because I genuinely feared what those behaviors could lead.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: From my perspective, those warnings did not receive the attention I believed they deserved.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: Feeling unheard while I continued to fear retaliation was one of
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: the most isolating experiences
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: of my life.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: Sorry, guys, we're almost done.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: For many years, I questioned whether anyone would believe what I had experienced.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: Seeing others with firsthand knowledge now come forward publicly has been deeply validating.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: While I cannot speak for anyone else's experiences,
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: hearing similar accounts has reinforced that I would believe.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: And then she goes on to talk about her family.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: So I just want to point out...
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: That all they had to do was look at police records for three seconds
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: and they would have found out that he was a violent offender.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: But they did nothing and they're still protecting him.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: Homeland Security was asked about this and they responded,
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: we will never confirm or deny attempts to dox our law enforcement officers.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: That's not doxing.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: That's not doxing.
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: Doxing is when somebody threatened to kill my children because I was posting
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: on Substack and then they put my old address on there.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, doxing is when you put their address with the specific intent of people going
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: to look for them.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: Law enforcement officials are public.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: You get to know their name.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: You don't get to disappear them when they kill somebody and then say,
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: well, we're protecting them.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: It's like, no, they don't get to be protected from that sort of thing.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: They have to face public scrutiny when they kill people,
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: especially if they have a history of violence.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: And Homeland Security said the ICE officer in question has nearly a decade
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: of federal law enforcement experience with required training,
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: including use of force training.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: Apparently had had a decade of abusing his wives, too.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: Which begs the question, how did this piece of shit ever pass the vetting process?
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: Was he even vetted?
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: I don't, to be honest with you, I don't think they care.
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: I think they want violent criminals.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: And that's the question, right?
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: What is the vetting process?
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: Is what is like I want to know what was the vetting process?
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: He has sold.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: If they vetted him and they saw that this was in his past,
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: he should not have been able to get a job as a mall security guard because he's
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: so fucking violent and deranged.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: But if they vetted him and they saw that...
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: That says they wanted someone with this kind of background.
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: And that means his abusive past is considered a feature, not a bug.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: And if that's the case...
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: That's a problem.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: That's something that's being done deliberately.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: And if that's the case, there's a paper trail saying, look for people with a violent past.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I just want to applaud his ex-wives and at least one of his children
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: for coming forward.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: Because it sounds like they tried to for years when they were married to him
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: and nobody believed them.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: And now that he's killed somebody, it's like their worst fear is coming true.
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: And they're probably feeling a lot of guilt because they're relieved that it's not them.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: And I'm sure they're going to be targeted now.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: I'm sure Magaland is going to come after them.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: And I'm sure the Manosphere is going to be targeting them with threats of violence
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: because of course they are.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: Let us move on to headlines for short attention span.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: Barron Trump's buddies,
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: Andrew and Tristan Tate,
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: were arrested by federal authorities in Miami over the weekend.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: The women-hating manosphere influencers are awaiting their extradition to the UK.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: Newly unsealed court filings detail the sex trafficking and rape allegations against
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: the men in Britain.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: They're accused of choking several women to the point
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: that they sometimes passed out,
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: raping them and physically abusing them on top of the choking part.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: There are 59 charges between the two men.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: Now, there's more to it because of course there is.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: British prosecutors released a statement I don't think anything about Tristan,
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: but he's also facing charges related to, quote,
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: indecent images of a child and extreme pornography because of course he's
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: a fucking pedophile, but of course he is.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: What a shock.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, I didn't see that coming a mile away.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: The brothers have denied the allegations and appealed to Trump and his children
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: because they're friends with Trump's kids to step in and stop their extra.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: Prosecutors say that they have electronic Now,
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: the last time the pedophile rapists were in trouble,
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: that time was in Romania,
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: the regime stepped in to save them, flying them to the U.S.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: I said it was not clear that the Trump regime was going to go to bat for
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: the brothers again because shielding pedophiles from justice in the UK during
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: the election year is going to make the manosphere happy,
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: but really piss off everyone else,
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: including a lot of MAGA who are still mad about the Epstein files.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: And turns out that I was right about that because yesterday the news came down that
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: the regime is, in fact, not stepping in to protect the fucking pedophiles.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: I knew that wasn't going to happen.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: There was no way that he'd be able to get away with that.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: They helped him out last time quietly,
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: but this time they were like, Yeah, no, they have fucking evidence.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: They have pictures.
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: We're not stepping in that.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: Not now.
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: There's the Epstein file thing and the election is too fucking close.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: There's no fucking way Trump is going to bat for a fucking pedophile.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: So they're like, sorry, guys, you're on your fucking own.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: And...
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: This makes me very, very fucking happy because Tate is on my fucking death party watch list.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: And while he's not dead, he's going to go to jail for a fucking decade.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: And that's good enough.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: So when he gets convicted and they hand down,
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: 30 to 40 years,
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: and then they send him,
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: they're also going to fucking extradite him to Romania where he's going
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: to stand trial for his crimes there.
- 30:35SPEAKER_00: I'm going to get very fucking drunk looking forward to it.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: Also, in case you missed it,
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: Andrew Tate was arrested in an outfit that could be charitably described
- 30:46SPEAKER_01: as something your divorced middle-aged aunt would wear while she was day drinking
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: with her book club.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: It was like a weird purple top or fuchsia top that was like kind of unbuttoned
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: and like pleather baggy pants and that were like,
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: but that were like not even all, they weren't even long.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: They were like half pants.
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: And he was wearing, like, flats that were just, like, no socks.
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and he was wearing, like, loafers with, like, no socks.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: And I looked at him and I was like, really?
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: This is who they think is a real man?
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: This guy?
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, however,
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: while he
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: was getting arrested,
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: They had to wait while his assistant took the time to take a heavy-duty,
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: expensive chain off his neck because,
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: of course,
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: you take the time to let that be taken care of because he's wealthy and he's white,
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: well, half-white.
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: You know, you take the time.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: If he'd been a black guy with a chain,
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: they just would have knocked him out, taken the chain and sold it.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: The cops would have just confiscated it.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: They would have confiscated it and said that it was purchased using ill-gotten funds.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: But, you know, Edutake gets slightly special.
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: Right, right, right.
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: Well, anyway,
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: earlier this year,
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: the regime announced that it was forcing its bigotry and forced birth agenda
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: on foreign nations.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: Yay!
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: They rolled out new rules prohibiting NGOs,
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: UN nations,
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: and foreign governments receiving U.S.
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: aid if they promote access to gender-affirming care,
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: abortion, or even diversity initiatives because diversity is bad.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: This was a huge blow to African nations that heavily rely on foreign aid
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: for their healthcare,
- 32:28SPEAKER_01: especially when it comes to maternal medicine,
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: where sub-Saharan Africa has both the fastest growing population and
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: about 180,000 pregnancy-related deaths annually, which is massive.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: Decades ago,
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: a group of African nations declared safe abortions a human right in an attempt
- 32:50SPEAKER_01: to cut down on the number of illegal procedures taking place.
- 32:53SPEAKER_01: Still, there are about 6 million unsafe abortions in sub-Saharan Africa each year,
- 32:57SPEAKER_01: which is just...
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: Just wild to think about.
- 33:00SPEAKER_01: American pro-birth groups and Trump are now trying to get the abortion agreement
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: in those nations rolled back in return for health care aid
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: that they desperately need.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: And let's be honest,
- 33:11SPEAKER_01: it's not Trump.
- 33:12SPEAKER_01: He doesn't care and he doesn't know anything about it.
- 33:15SPEAKER_01: No, he's probably paid many abortions in his time.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this is just the religious fanatics in his administration
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: or his regime just pandering to the evangelicals.
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: He doesn't care.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: If someone walked up to him,
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: if a reporter walked up to him today and said,
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: so about the abortions in sub-Saharan Africa,
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: he'd be like, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: He'd be like, where's sub-Saharan Africa?
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he would not know what they were talking about.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: He has nothing to do with this.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: He just signed a piece of paper they put in front of him.
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: While they explained to him what it was.
- 33:47SPEAKER_00: They probably didn't even do that.
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: Well, anyway,
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: Nardos Hagos of the International Planned Parenthood Federation told
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: the Associated Press,
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: quote, we're going to see more women dying from unsafe abortions.
- 34:03SPEAKER_01: Which is the point, of course.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: It's not enough.
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: Add that to all of the adults and children dying from AIDS now that Trump has fucked
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: with all the funding for that.
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: And you definitely have the most pro-life administration in history, y'all.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: And one wonders,
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: when are they going to make aid to Israel contingent on making abortion illegal?
- 34:36SPEAKER_00: Because Israel has- Because it's legal there, right?
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: It's legal.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: It's legal on demand.
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: They don't have restrictions.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: You know, you can't get it until like the ninth month, but they don't have restrictions on it.
- 34:48SPEAKER_00: They don't have, you know, it's like only after, you know, only up to three months.
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: They don't do that.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: It's perfectly normal and legal.
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: So and we pay Israel,
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: we give Israel billions of dollars a year and you never hear
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: the pro-life right complaining about that.
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: Whatever could explain that double standard either.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: Well, I don't know.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: The pro-life right is also not complaining about all of the Christians that are being targeted.
- 35:12SPEAKER_00: I know it's so weird.
- 35:15SPEAKER_00: Just don't understand.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: Bizarre.
- 35:18SPEAKER_00: Anyway, so in one of the more bizarre stories of the week,
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: and one that definitely indicates we are living in the stupidest timeline,
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: Republicans,
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: including Trump,
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: have begun to threaten and harass Canadians over the wildfires burning in
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: the country.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: Now, We enjoyed three or four days of choking on the smoke here.
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: I posted a couple of pictures of that.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: It was fascinating.
- 35:41SPEAKER_00: It was worse than it was a couple of years ago.
- 35:43SPEAKER_00: It was way worse.
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: Like I walked out onto the balcony and I could taste the smoke.
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: Last time, you could see it.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: This time, I could taste it and smell it.
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: It was like, okay, that's really bad.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: Now,
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: Trump said he's going to impose a 50% tariff on our northern neighbors because
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: the smoke.
- 36:02SPEAKER_00: Then that threat infuriated Ontario Premier Doug Ford, who called it rubbish.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: And he pointed out Canadians had no problem helping Americans
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: when California was burning and said, quote,
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: with all the assets the U.S.
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: has, and he's sitting there complaining, why don't you send up some water bombers?
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: Why don't you start helping us like we helped you in a heartbeat?
- 36:19SPEAKER_00: And he's not wrong, right?
- 36:21SPEAKER_00: This is all bullshit.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: This is Trump because he's still furious.
- 36:25SPEAKER_00: The Supreme Court told him he can't use tariffs to punish countries that hurt his little thief.
- 36:31SPEAKER_00: Piper baby in the Oval Office is still has been looking for any excuse
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: to reimpose tariffs ever since he was slapped down because he's a big boy
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: and nobody can tell him what he can and can't do.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: So he's.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: He's just using his excuse.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: And in a couple of weeks,
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: he's looking to slap tariffs all over the world again because he doesn't know,
- 36:54SPEAKER_00: like he can't do anything else.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: Like once it gets stuck in his dementia addled brain,
- 36:59SPEAKER_00: he has to keep doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over.
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: So here we go again until the Supreme Court steps in and says, we fucking told you no.
- 37:09SPEAKER_01: Can't wait.
- 37:11SPEAKER_01: So excited.
- 37:13SPEAKER_01: So this is an update from an item that we discussed last week.
- 37:17SPEAKER_01: The right's attempt to solidify its control over the media has hit a snag.
- 37:21SPEAKER_01: On Monday, a federal judge issued a restraining order to...
- 37:24SPEAKER_01: A hearing will be held on August 3rd to consider a prohibition.
- 37:39SPEAKER_01: Is this a bit of a Hail Mary?
- 37:41SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 38:03SPEAKER_01: But it could be a very costly one,
- 38:05SPEAKER_01: and Paramount is already on shaky financial ground as a result of taking
- 38:09SPEAKER_01: on enormous amounts of debt to attempt this merger.
- 38:13SPEAKER_01: Any significant delay could prove to be more costly than the billionaire Trump
- 38:20SPEAKER_01: or Ellison family is willing to afford.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: And wouldn't that just be awful?
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: Break my heart?
- 38:26SPEAKER_00: I would shed some wine.
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: All right, so we have the LOL of the week.
- 38:31SPEAKER_00: Of all the things that trigger the oppressed,
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: mediocre,
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: racist white men of America,
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: their underrepresentation in corporate boardrooms,
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: their lack of a voice in Congress,
- 38:41SPEAKER_00: only earning 20% more than women,
- 38:44SPEAKER_00: Now, that actually is a problem for the right, and I've written about it before.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: The more extreme the right becomes, the less capable of producing art it is.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: Fascism cannot produce art.
- 39:10SPEAKER_00: It can only consume and destroy art, which is why the right has always despised pop culture.
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: They can censor it when they have the power to destroy people's lives,
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: but when they don't, they have zero power.
- 39:25SPEAKER_00: And we saw that dynamic play out yet again this weekend as the right loudly demanded
- 39:30SPEAKER_00: a boycott of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey,
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: with Elon Musk leading the charge as the head-aggrieved white man.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: They were mad,
- 39:39SPEAKER_00: you see,
- 39:39SPEAKER_00: that Helen of Troy,
- 39:41SPEAKER_00: probably a fictional character, was being played by Lupita Nyong'o.
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: Nyong'o, sorry.
- 39:50SPEAKER_00: She's a black woman.
- 39:51SPEAKER_00: And Achilles was being played by Elliot Page, a trans man.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: But that's not the character Page was playing at all.
- 39:58SPEAKER_00: He played Sinan, a completely different character.
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: But Even if he was playing Achilles, have you seen Elliot Page without a shirt?
- 40:07SPEAKER_00: He is fucking ripped.
- 40:10SPEAKER_00: More than Elon Musk, that fat, sloppy ketamine junkie, has ever been in his entire flabby life.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: But still, white man rage.
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: Still, for all their screaming and fussing and whining and bitching,
- 40:25SPEAKER_00: the Odyssey blew away all expectations with a massive box office hall
- 40:31SPEAKER_00: of $124.5 million,
- 40:32SPEAKER_00: making it the largest live action opening of the year and
- 40:34SPEAKER_00: the fourth highest R-rated opening ever.
- 40:44SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 40:45SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 40:45SPEAKER_00: The richest man in the history of the world with
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: the largest megaphone was absolutely powerless to impose his will
- 40:51SPEAKER_00: on American culture.
- 40:53SPEAKER_00: That's an important story that should be getting a lot more press,
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: but no one wants to talk about how the emperor has no clothes
- 40:59SPEAKER_00: because they're afraid he'll buy their network and fire them.
- 41:02SPEAKER_00: And that's why the legacy press is fucking worthless.
- 41:04SPEAKER_00: Anyway, this was a long way of saying that Elon Musk and all
- 41:08SPEAKER_00: of his little bootlicking sycophants pissed into the wind and nobody cared
- 41:12SPEAKER_00: because they're losing.
- 41:13SPEAKER_00: So, Fuck you, fascists.
- 41:15SPEAKER_00: Your day is coming.
- 41:18SPEAKER_01: Isn't it fun when he gets into it?
- 41:20SPEAKER_01: I put that on there because I knew he was going to love it.
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: No, I definitely needed to go on that one.
- 41:27SPEAKER_00: I was like, bleh.
- 41:31SPEAKER_01: So on to self-care of the week.
- 41:33SPEAKER_01: I watched the World Cup at my son's apartment on Sunday.
- 41:37SPEAKER_01: It was a lot of fun.
- 41:39SPEAKER_01: It was me, my husband, and both of my boys and the oldest one's girlfriend.
- 41:45SPEAKER_01: It was a weird mess.
- 41:46SPEAKER_01: Because this is like the match that we wanted.
- 41:48SPEAKER_01: We wanted it to be Argentina and Spain because number one,
- 41:52SPEAKER_01: we wanted Messi to win a second World Cup.
- 41:55SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: But, you know, such is life.
- 42:00SPEAKER_01: Spain dominated Argentina throughout the game.
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: We really like Laminia Mall, which is the 19-year-old who plays for Spain.
- 42:09SPEAKER_01: And it's so funny because there's this picture of Messi.
- 42:14SPEAKER_01: There was a calendar shoot in 2008 or 2009 where Messi was bathing a baby Laminia Mall.
- 42:23SPEAKER_01: This picture exists.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: And then they faced off against each other in the World Cup.
- 42:29SPEAKER_01: How wild is that?
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: That's funny.
- 42:32SPEAKER_01: And all of my son was funny because he's a huge Barcelona fan for club soccer
- 42:40SPEAKER_01: and like half of Spain's team is Barcelona players.
- 42:44SPEAKER_01: And Messi actually used to be a Barcelona player.
- 42:46SPEAKER_00: So that must have been bittersweet for him.
- 42:51SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 42:51SPEAKER_01: That's what I said, too.
- 42:52SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh, how weird for Messi.
- 42:54SPEAKER_01: He's like, he trained all of these people, which is funny.
- 42:57SPEAKER_01: He's trained like a lot of those players and they went on to beat him in the World Cup.
- 43:01SPEAKER_01: It's like, oh, I want to be mad,
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: but I'm so proud of you guys.
- 43:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: So it was a really good game.
- 43:10SPEAKER_01: Then I had to spend a lot of time on the internet arguing
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: with people who've never watched soccer in their entire life,
- 43:14SPEAKER_01: but they really wanted Argentina to lose
- 43:17SPEAKER_01: because they said Argentina played too aggressively,
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: but I'm like, have you guys ever watched soccer before?
- 43:24SPEAKER_01: No.
- 43:24SPEAKER_01: So it was fun.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: We had pizza and wings from this spot in Tampa that was called.
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: Now you can relate to this.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: It was called New York, New York pizza.
- 43:32SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, oh, it's going to be like delicious, greasy pizza, like the big ones.
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: And, you know,
- 43:37SPEAKER_01: there's nothing better than like a big loaded piece of New York pizza
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: that you can fold in half and like eat like a taco.
- 43:45SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 43:46SPEAKER_00: Hell yeah.
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: Ugh.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: It was not that.
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: Boo.
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: It was, like, dry.
- 43:51SPEAKER_01: I was like, what did you guys do?
- 43:53SPEAKER_01: Take my grease off?
- 43:55SPEAKER_00: Fake advertising.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: Fake it.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: False advertising.
- 43:57SPEAKER_00: False advertising.
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:59SPEAKER_01: And their wings were weird.
- 44:01SPEAKER_01: Like, not crispy at all.
- 44:03SPEAKER_01: They were just kind of, like, over.
- 44:05SPEAKER_00: Every time I order wings from someplace,
- 44:07SPEAKER_00: it's almost like,
- 44:07SPEAKER_00: make them extra crispy, please, because half the time, they're undercooked.
- 44:10SPEAKER_00: Like, they're not raw, but they're soggy.
- 44:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, these were, like, soggy.
- 44:15SPEAKER_01: Soggy.
- 44:16SPEAKER_01: And they were, like, I don't know.
- 44:17SPEAKER_01: It looked like they were boiled first, if that makes sense.
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: Because, like, it was coming.
- 44:21SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I mean?
- 44:21SPEAKER_01: Because it was, like, the chicken was, like, kind of falling off of it.
- 44:25SPEAKER_01: I was like, that's weird.
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: I usually throw them in the toaster oven to crisp them up some.
- 44:29SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 44:29SPEAKER_01: And as a buffalo.
- 44:31SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 44:31SPEAKER_01: I should have done that.
- 44:32SPEAKER_01: But as a buffalo girl, I was like, ugh.
- 44:36SPEAKER_01: Ugh.
- 44:37SPEAKER_01: Ugh.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: But it was a good time.
- 44:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 44:40SPEAKER_00: Next time we go to Ocean City, I'm going to take Anastasia to Hooters.
- 44:44SPEAKER_00: One, because she wants to go to Hooters, but also the wing.
- 44:47SPEAKER_01: No, Hooters does actually have pretty good wings.
- 44:49SPEAKER_00: I know they have good wings.
- 44:50SPEAKER_00: I've been to Hooters, and they have really good wings.
- 44:52SPEAKER_00: And Anastasia just wants to go to Hooters because Anastasia.
- 44:56SPEAKER_01: I wanted to...
- 44:57SPEAKER_01: So I was going to get wings from Buffalo Wild Wings,
- 45:00SPEAKER_01: but I'm like, they were so expensive that...
- 45:02SPEAKER_01: It was like $45 for 30 wings.
- 45:04SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, what the fuck is this life?
- 45:07SPEAKER_01: And then I was like, okay, we'll just get them from Wing House because I like Wing House wings.
- 45:11SPEAKER_01: But they were like $48 for 30 wings.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: So I ended up getting two extra large pizzas.
- 45:17SPEAKER_01: Pizzas, 30 wings,
- 45:19SPEAKER_01: and six bread,
- 45:21SPEAKER_01: like the rolls, the garlic, garlic, I don't know, garlic bread, whatever.
- 45:28SPEAKER_01: Garlic knots, yes, there you go.
- 45:29SPEAKER_01: I couldn't think of the name.
- 45:31SPEAKER_01: For like $92.
- 45:32SPEAKER_01: So that wasn't bad, though, because it was two extra large pizzas.
- 45:35SPEAKER_01: They were huge pizzas and 30 wings, you know.
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: But man, life is expensive these days, huh?
- 45:42SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 45:42SPEAKER_00: So on Saturday, we went to go see the live action Moana and it was fantastic.
- 45:48SPEAKER_01: Oh, was it good?
- 45:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, my God.
- 45:50SPEAKER_01: It was so good.
- 45:51SPEAKER_00: I know people are a little tired of the live action.
- 45:53SPEAKER_00: And I get it.
- 45:54SPEAKER_00: Not every Disney movie needs a live action.
- 45:58SPEAKER_00: Like Snow White was terrible.
- 46:01SPEAKER_00: Was it bad?
- 46:02SPEAKER_00: It was.
- 46:03SPEAKER_00: And the sad thing about the Snow White remake is that it didn't do something weird
- 46:06SPEAKER_00: with the dwarfs.
- 46:08SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 46:08SPEAKER_00: And they were they should have just gotten dwarf action.
- 46:12SPEAKER_00: And they did it.
- 46:15SPEAKER_00: Originally, the actors were supposed to be just normal people.
- 46:18SPEAKER_00: And they weren't dwarves at all.
- 46:20SPEAKER_00: And then some, like, what's his name?
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: Little people, guys.
- 46:23SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 46:24SPEAKER_00: What's his name?
- 46:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, from Game of Thrones.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: Tyrion.
- 46:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 46:29SPEAKER_00: He was like, what the fuck are you doing?
- 46:31SPEAKER_00: No, he was really mad about it.
- 46:33SPEAKER_00: Well, he should have been.
- 46:33SPEAKER_00: And then they CG'd in dwarves.
- 46:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what I heard.
- 46:37SPEAKER_00: They did it badly.
- 46:38SPEAKER_00: And it's like, you can get actual people.
- 46:42SPEAKER_00: I mean, not For nothing, back in the 80s, there was a movie called Time Bandits.
- 46:48SPEAKER_00: And there were, I want to say, at least six in that movie.
- 46:51SPEAKER_00: There were six of them in that movie, at least six.
- 46:54SPEAKER_00: And they were fucking amazing.
- 46:55SPEAKER_00: And that was in the 80s when that wasn't really a thing.
- 46:59SPEAKER_01: Well, look at Snow White.
- 47:02SPEAKER_01: Or not Snow White.
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:05SPEAKER_01: The Wizard of Oz
- 47:06SPEAKER_00: back in the day.
- 47:07SPEAKER_00: Exactly, right?
- 47:08SPEAKER_00: It's like, I mean,
- 47:10SPEAKER_00: most of them didn't do much acting in that movie, but this was an entire movie.
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: Time Bandits was an entire movie.
- 47:18SPEAKER_00: They They were the main actors in that movie and they were fucking amazing.
- 47:22SPEAKER_00: It's like if you could find them in the 80s, you could absolutely fucking find them now.
- 47:27SPEAKER_00: They could have found seven people to do these roles and it would have been fucking amazing.
- 47:33SPEAKER_01: But yeah, what a good opportunity for them to in a world where there's not many roles for them.
- 47:38SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 47:39SPEAKER_00: And it's like, come on, man, you know, they're out there.
- 47:42SPEAKER_00: It's not.
- 47:42SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's plenty of them acting now.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: Fucking find them.
- 47:45SPEAKER_00: Just why?
- 47:46SPEAKER_00: What are you doing?
- 47:47SPEAKER_00: So it was just stupid and it wasn't good.
- 47:49SPEAKER_00: And it could have been like you could see the bones of a good movie,
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: but it was just that that CG dwarves just ruined it.
- 47:56SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, my favorite Disney movie of all time is Aladdin.
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: It was the only movie that we owned as a kid, like when we were kids and moved to Florida.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: So we watched it like a hundred times to the point where to this day,
- 48:08SPEAKER_01: I know all of the words to the movie.
- 48:10SPEAKER_00: I like the remake for that.
- 48:11SPEAKER_00: I like the live action.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: But I did it.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: I never watched the live action because I just did it.
- 48:16SPEAKER_01: I thought it was weird.
- 48:18SPEAKER_00: I enjoyed it.
- 48:19SPEAKER_00: And it fleshed out parts of the storyline that they kind of just skimmed over in the cartoon.
- 48:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's a cartoon.
- 48:27SPEAKER_00: But I enjoyed it.
- 48:28SPEAKER_00: I liked it.
- 48:29SPEAKER_00: The only thing that threw me off a little bit was, you know, Robin Williams is Robin Williams.
- 48:34SPEAKER_01: Well, that's my thing,
- 48:35SPEAKER_01: is that having Will Smith be the genie, I was like, is it going to be as good?
- 48:41SPEAKER_00: He did a really good job, but it's hard to fill those shoes.
- 48:46SPEAKER_00: He did a great job, but it's hard to follow Robin Williams because it's Robin Williams.
- 48:51SPEAKER_00: But he still did a really good job.
- 48:53SPEAKER_00: It was really well done.
- 48:54SPEAKER_01: Was The Rock in the Moana movie?
- 48:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, you know, he pretty much played himself.
- 49:00SPEAKER_00: But still, it was really, really good.
- 49:03SPEAKER_00: And it was funny because Anastasia was telling me his big scene, right?
- 49:08SPEAKER_00: You're welcome, that song.
- 49:09SPEAKER_00: You're welcome.
- 49:11SPEAKER_00: People complained that that scene wasn't good.
- 49:14SPEAKER_00: And it was like, I'm watching, I was like, my God, this is better than the cartoon version.
- 49:18SPEAKER_00: I like this version better than the cartoon version.
- 49:20SPEAKER_00: And I like the cartoon version.
- 49:22SPEAKER_00: I love the cartoon version.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's nothing about the cartoon version of You're Welcome that I don't like.
- 49:28SPEAKER_00: And I like the live action version better than the cartoon version.
- 49:31SPEAKER_00: So it was like, people are insane.
- 49:33SPEAKER_00: Can I ask you a question?
- 49:34SPEAKER_00: Did they have like a funky chicken?
- 49:37SPEAKER_00: Yes, the chicken, they did not try to make the chicken look realistic.
- 49:41SPEAKER_01: Okay, good, good, good, good, good.
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, the chicken still looked like, the chicken still looked like, hey, hey.
- 49:47SPEAKER_00: And they did not make it look like a real chicken.
- 49:49SPEAKER_00: They learned that lesson from The Lion King.
- 49:52SPEAKER_01: My goddaughter, she cheered with somebody who looked
- 49:55SPEAKER_00: like that chicken.
- 49:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, the chicken was hilarious.
- 49:58SPEAKER_00: Now, it was just really, really good.
- 50:01SPEAKER_00: So I would definitely recommend it.
- 50:03SPEAKER_00: I had a lot of fun with it.
- 50:05SPEAKER_00: Now, that evening,
- 50:06SPEAKER_00: Saturday night,
- 50:07SPEAKER_00: we went to go see a local production of the Addams Family musical
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: that Anastasia was part of the crew for.
- 50:13SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 50:13SPEAKER_00: You got a picture of that?
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:16SPEAKER_00: That was the show she had auditioned for months ago, but didn't get in.
- 50:20SPEAKER_00: But she was on the lights, and she's been enjoying doing that immensely.
- 50:24SPEAKER_00: Now, The Addams Family,
- 50:25SPEAKER_00: the musical, that was on Broadway, like, I don't know, like 10, 15 years ago.
- 50:30SPEAKER_00: It never quite caught on despite winning several awards.
- 50:34SPEAKER_00: It ran for like a year or two and it had been on tour a little bit off and on over the years.
- 50:38SPEAKER_00: And honestly, I could see why it wasn't a huge hit.
- 50:42SPEAKER_00: It's funny and the songs are good,
- 50:44SPEAKER_00: but the songs aren't really super catchy that you'll be humming six months later.
- 50:49SPEAKER_00: Still, if you have a chance to see a local production of it, you should definitely go.
- 50:55SPEAKER_00: It's worth an evening out.
- 50:57SPEAKER_01: What is it again?
- 50:58SPEAKER_00: The Addams Family.
- 50:59SPEAKER_01: Oh, I love the Addams Family.
- 51:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 51:01SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's it's it's not it's not the storyline from the movies or anything.
- 51:06SPEAKER_00: It's its own unique story.
- 51:07SPEAKER_00: And it's just it's very funny and the music's fun, but it's not super, super catchy.
- 51:13SPEAKER_00: But it was it was we had a lot of fun.
- 51:15SPEAKER_00: So that was that was our Saturday.
- 51:17SPEAKER_00: And it was like a really good day for us.
- 51:19SPEAKER_00: So, yay.
- 51:20SPEAKER_01: So that's why I know you're from New York City because you watch so many.
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: I don't think I've ever been to a play as an adult or a show.
- 51:27SPEAKER_00: I mean, you do live in Florida.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: It's a cultural wasteland.
- 51:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I live in Sarasota, which is known for its theater and stuff.
- 51:35SPEAKER_01: And actually, FSU, Florida State University, has a huge theater program.
- 51:41SPEAKER_00: Oh, they should definitely go see that because that's short.
- 51:43SPEAKER_00: It's cheaper than going to see an official live production.
- 51:47SPEAKER_00: And honestly, sometimes the stuff that you catch, like the local theater...
- 51:54SPEAKER_00: Almost as good.
- 51:55SPEAKER_00: Not as good, but good enough that you're still getting all the flavor of it.
- 52:02SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 52:02SPEAKER_01: And you're supporting your local theaters, too.
- 52:04SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 52:05SPEAKER_00: Not for nothing.
- 52:07SPEAKER_00: We've seen a bunch of shows at Washington Liberty with Anastasia's High School,
- 52:12SPEAKER_00: and they're fucking amazing.
- 52:15SPEAKER_00: Sometimes some of the kids are just like,
- 52:16SPEAKER_00: let's see, this kid's going to end up on fucking Broadway someday.
- 52:19SPEAKER_00: Wow, that's a hell of a voice.
- 52:22SPEAKER_00: The very first show we went to go see was Sweeney Todd.
- 52:25SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's cool.
- 52:26SPEAKER_00: When the guy playing Sweeney Todd came out and we were like,
- 52:31SPEAKER_00: OK, you know, let's see what this is going to be like.
- 52:33SPEAKER_00: He started singing and I was with Lila and me and Lila just looked
- 52:37SPEAKER_00: at each other like, what the fuck?
- 52:39SPEAKER_00: What the fuck is happening right now?
- 52:41SPEAKER_00: How is that voice coming out of that fucking skinny little kid?
- 52:45SPEAKER_00: It was impressive.
- 52:47SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 52:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I've seen actual Broadway shows where the lead singer was like, not on that level.
- 52:52SPEAKER_00: I was like, what is happening here?
- 52:55SPEAKER_00: So that kid graduated last year.
- 52:57SPEAKER_00: We were sad about that.
- 52:59SPEAKER_00: So it was like, God damn it.
- 53:00SPEAKER_00: Anastasia is going to be here for two more years and we're not going to have that.
- 53:03SPEAKER_01: Oh my God, our star went.
- 53:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was like, God.
- 53:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but when he pops up on Broadway someday, it's like, I will go see it.
- 53:11SPEAKER_00: He's definitely going to that show, right?
- 53:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 53:14SPEAKER_01: I remember when you were a little kid in Sweeney Todd.
- 53:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, what's he going to be like when he's an adult with a full adult voice?
- 53:21SPEAKER_01: Right, with actual vocal training at the adult level.
- 53:26SPEAKER_01: That's going to be amazing.
- 53:27SPEAKER_00: But yeah, so you should definitely go see something like, you know, just poke around.
- 53:32SPEAKER_00: It's worth it.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: And I'm sure Nathan would have a field day with some of them
- 53:37SPEAKER_00: because even Jordan pays attention to it.
- 53:39SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, all the singing and dancing, it gets his attention.
- 53:43SPEAKER_01: You're right,
- 53:43SPEAKER_01: because he might like that because he does not really like to sit down
- 53:47SPEAKER_01: and watch movies or television or anything like that.
- 53:49SPEAKER_01: He was really into, you know, the Demon Hunters movie.
- 53:54SPEAKER_00: Right, because it's all motion and music.
- 53:56SPEAKER_01: That's probably what it is.
- 53:58SPEAKER_01: And he really likes Naked and Afraid,
- 54:00SPEAKER_01: but I think that's because he's interested in, like, survival stuff, you know.
- 54:05SPEAKER_01: I don't know whose kid he is.
- 54:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 54:08SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 54:09SPEAKER_00: You know what, Nathan?
- 54:10SPEAKER_00: He would probably get a kick out of Les Mis because it's history.
- 54:14SPEAKER_00: There's violence and they're sinking.
- 54:17SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 54:17SPEAKER_01: I'll have to check to see maybe if there's production of that around.
- 54:20SPEAKER_00: Or just start with the movie first or start with the musical movie.
- 54:25SPEAKER_00: Like there's a movie of the musical and there's the movie.
- 54:29SPEAKER_00: So one or the other.
- 54:31SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 54:31SPEAKER_01: I'll definitely check that out.
