- 0:28Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:30coop. So let's talk about the week
- 0:33between Christmas and New Year's.
- 0:37So for a lot of people, this is the time when the world kind of
- 0:41slows down because, you know, corporations, businesses,
- 0:45people, vacation schools, everything tends to slow down
- 0:49and kind of time out. Everybody just kind of takes a
- 0:53collective breath. And for me, I thought it might
- 0:56be kind of fun to share what I do during this time, because I
- 1:00think of this week as nothing but possibilities.
- 1:04The week between Christmas and New Year's for me, is all about
- 1:06what's possible. What can I create?
- 1:08What can I think about? What can I brainstorm?
- 1:11All the stuff that you normally just don't have the time to do?
- 1:15This is a time where it's it. It's pure creation.
- 1:20It's pure possibility. It's pure potential.
- 1:22You just have to decide what you want it to mean to you.
- 1:25So you know, it's kind of funny. Everybody goes about it their
- 1:29own way. But I think that one of the fun
- 1:32things that I think is important during this time is to just kind
- 1:36of collect information. Don't have to do it the whole
- 1:39time, but the first couple days, like for me, today, tomorrow,
- 1:43the next day is all going to be leading up to New Year's.
- 1:45I'm going to be just kind of collecting thoughts,
- 1:48information, ideas, capturing them all on giant post it, notes
- 1:53on cards, whatever. I feel like using at that point
- 1:56in time, and I'm going to make sure that I'm very, very
- 1:59diligent with not deleting anything.
- 2:02Again, you've heard me say this before and other times, but you
- 2:05you really have to not delete ideas.
- 2:07Ideas aren't meant to be that, just that, ideas.
- 2:10So you put them down, but you don't actually delete them when
- 2:14they're in your head, because if you're deleting them when
- 2:16they're in your head, that means you've already decided before
- 2:19you've even seen them on paper that they're not valid.
- 2:22And that's where you're mistaken, because there are lots
- 2:25of times that, you know, ideas that sound terrible in your head
- 2:29might actually be good on paper. So when you start to put them
- 2:33down, you start to get like, oh, well, wait, there's a crumb
- 2:35here. So I'm going to challenge you to
- 2:37go out and say, OK, if this is the the week of potential and
- 2:42I'm going to talk more about this, this week, but really
- 2:45owning the fact that you're just going to capture ideas.
- 2:48So whatever we've got going on this week, whatever you're
- 2:50doing, whatever you're working on, just keep capturing
- 2:53different ideas. Just keep putting everything on
- 2:55paper. Just keep thinking about it and
- 2:58and stewing on it. And in a good way, not a bad
- 3:01way. Creating a Stew you actually
- 3:03want to eat instead of creating something you don't want to eat,
- 3:05but really making it something that is, you know, compelling
- 3:11something that is just fun to do.
- 3:12Make the whole process fun. Don't make it arduous.
- 3:15And if you've been feeling like you've just been stuck, you're
- 3:19in the rat race. You don't like the way things
- 3:22are in your life, well, the message for you this week is OK,
- 3:27let's reimagine it. What can you do if you feel like
- 3:30a bump on a log? And I had somebody text me that
- 3:35the other day so And I know this person listens.
- 3:38So if you're feeling like you're a bump on a log, then do
- 3:42something about it. Plant something near yourself,
- 3:45Do something. You are not a bump on a log.
- 3:48You have choices. You just have to be willing to
- 3:50actually take the action. And that's where it starts with
- 3:54this imagination first. Imagination and creativity are a
- 3:57superpower, and if you are not using them to help you, then
- 4:02that is a problem. And part of this is when you
- 4:05keep it in your head, you judge it too quickly and then all of a
- 4:09sudden the idea is gone. It's like, oh, it's stupid.
- 4:12I don't want to do it. It's dumb, whatever it might be.
- 4:15But that's not the case. The case is that it's fabulous,
- 4:20potentially, and you don't even know it because you didn't put
- 4:22it on paper or share it with a trusted advisor who can help you
- 4:27say, wait, there is something in this and I'll tell you, you
- 4:30know, a Podcasterman chicken coop is not necessarily what you
- 4:34would think is a sane idea, but guess what?
- 4:37It's just insane enough that it works.
- 4:39So give yourself the gift, the possibility, the intention of
- 4:44saying I'm going to go. Let myself be as creative as I
- 4:46can possibly be. I'm going to enjoy myself in the
- 4:49process of this. I'm going to celebrate this week
- 4:52in between and really kind of own the fact that I have the
- 4:55ability to do anything that I think about if I really, really
- 5:02put it on the paper and get it out of my head.
- 5:06So work on that. Stay in a state of possibility.
- 5:09Tell yourself right at the top of the paper, Write down ideas,
- 5:12possibility, creative outlet, whatever you want.
- 5:16Call it, put it on the paper and start filling it in.
- 5:19All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 5:21will see you tomorrow. Bye.
