- 0:01Speaker 1: This episode is brought to you by P and C Bank.
- 0:03Speaker 1: A lot of people think podcasts about work are boring,
- 0:06Speaker 1: and sure they definitely can be, but understanding of professionals
- 0:10Speaker 1: routine shows us how they achieve their success little by little,
- 0:14Speaker 1: day after day. It's like banking with P and C Bank.
- 0:18Speaker 1: It might seem boring to safe plan and make calculated
- 0:21Speaker 1: decisions with your bank, but keeping your money boring is
- 0:24Speaker 1: what helps you live or more happily fulfilled life. P
- 0:27Speaker 1: and C Bank Brilliantly Boring since eighteen sixty five. Brilliantly
- 0:32Speaker 1: Boring since eighteen sixty five is a service mark of
- 0:35Speaker 1: the PNC Financial Service Group, Inc. P and C Bank
- 0:39Speaker 1: National Association Member FDIC.
- 0:43Speaker 2: We'll start with Goal Goals at nearly an all time
- 0:47Speaker 2: high and it's been reaching high. Saw some six stat
- 0:50Speaker 2: the other day with Goal has actually outperformed the Nasdaq
- 0:54Speaker 2: over the last year to day. And once again, you know,
- 1:00Speaker 2: talked about gold before the election, like Novograds, that was
- 1:05Speaker 2: one of his things that he was real big on
- 1:07Speaker 2: before the election. He was just saying that he thought
- 1:09Speaker 2: that gold and bitcoin were the two assets to hold
- 1:13Speaker 2: because of the volatility in the government. And then with
- 1:15Speaker 2: the government shut down, We're gona talk about it a little late.
- 1:17Speaker 2: As far as bigcoin, you know, breaking new levels, but
- 1:20Speaker 2: gold also, as far as like has been doing well
- 1:23Speaker 2: for a very long period of time, and that's a
- 1:25Speaker 2: safe haven for people that don't believe in central currencies.
- 1:31Speaker 2: So gold is this something that's going to continue to
- 1:36Speaker 2: go up over the course of time.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Absolutely. You have two types of investors. You have risk
- 1:41Speaker 3: on investors, which are pro AI, pro crypto, pro technology,
- 1:46Speaker 3: and then you have pro hedge investors, and in this
- 1:50Speaker 3: case both are right. We're going to talk later if
- 1:54Speaker 3: this era is mirroring nineteen ninety nine to two thousand.
- 1:58Speaker 3: But the thing that's really important is when you own
- 2:01Speaker 3: asset classes, you want them to hedge against each other.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Gold does the ultimate hedge that is ended up outperforming
- 2:07Speaker 3: a lot of classes as you just mentioned, and I
- 2:10Speaker 3: don't see this pulling back anytime soon. I know it's
- 2:13Speaker 3: outside of a normal range for if you look at
- 2:16Speaker 3: a multi quarter range, but I think possibly by end
- 2:23Speaker 3: of year we could even be at three ninety one
- 2:26Speaker 3: twenty three ninety one two on gold. There is inherent
- 2:31Speaker 3: risks in the market that people are talking about. I
- 2:34Speaker 3: know IWM is up. I know the knee k was
- 2:36Speaker 3: up because of the Prime minister being elected or selected,
- 2:41Speaker 3: but I think too many people have risk on and
- 2:44Speaker 3: no hedge. So if the market does tank, I think
- 2:47Speaker 3: gold will still continue to climb. One of the best
- 2:51Speaker 3: investments and best assets of all time if you look
- 2:54Speaker 3: at it from since inception, and it's not going to
- 2:57Speaker 3: slow down anytime soon.
- 2:59Speaker 4: So yes, go continue to climb higher. I agree with you.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I agree with you.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I'll take the other position and a standpoint of what
- 3:07Speaker 1: would cause it to have retracement? Right, especially with government uncertainty,
- 3:11Speaker 1: We're not going to like they was supposed to be
- 3:13Speaker 1: a job support last week.
- 3:14Speaker 4: We didn't get it.
- 3:15Speaker 1: We're not getting it since there's a lockdown. Is this
- 3:17Speaker 1: something I don't even know if it's in the their future,
- 3:19Speaker 1: but at some point that would cause a sharp retracement
- 3:22Speaker 1: and gold.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:26Speaker 3: So in twenty ten through fifteen, it was printed of
- 3:31Speaker 3: money quantitative easy, and that money flowing around. So unless
- 3:35Speaker 3: they printed the way they did in two thousand and
- 3:37Speaker 3: eight two thousand and nine and that money circulates through
- 3:40Speaker 3: that would be the only thing to take some of
- 3:42Speaker 3: the capital off. Because now if interest rates go to zero,
- 3:46Speaker 3: it's risk going for every asset, meme, stocks, crypto tech,
- 3:54Speaker 3: Russell two thousand, Russell one thousand, s and P four hundred.
- 3:57Speaker 3: It's all bets on all money and shot the net
- 3:59Speaker 3: Russell piece. But unless we have that kind of money
- 4:02Speaker 3: flowing the worldwide, there's no reason to take a short
- 4:06Speaker 3: against gold. Because some people are starting to say, well,
- 4:08Speaker 3: gold is overvalued, hidding sort love is on RS side.
- 4:12Speaker 3: But it's like, if you don't know the macro economic environment,
- 4:15Speaker 3: I don't think the United States or even China is
- 4:19Speaker 3: in a position to print money how they did in
- 4:21Speaker 3: eight oh nine or twenty twenty. As a result, and
- 4:23Speaker 3: for that reason, I'll stay long on gold.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean we printed the money.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Printing definitely during COVID was even higher than that, and
- 4:32Speaker 1: so now you know, I'm with you real I think
- 4:36Speaker 1: it still appreciates. I just wonder if there is something
- 4:39Speaker 1: like is it a FED policy that changes? Obviously we
- 4:41Speaker 1: know if interest rates the expectations that interest rates will
- 4:44Speaker 1: continue to fall. I don't think we'll get to zero
- 4:45Speaker 1: anytime soon, or no, if we ever will. Just that
- 4:49Speaker 1: piece is like, yes, this is a hedge that we
- 4:51Speaker 1: should be in.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Just a thought though, going back to Ray Dallio's conversation,
- 4:57Speaker 3: though shot the ray you want to all weather portfolio.
- 5:02Speaker 3: I don't agree with the assessment of because the public
- 5:05Speaker 3: all weather portfolio versus what's done probably at that firm
- 5:09Speaker 3: is different. But gold is a good cornerstone investment for sure.
- 5:16Speaker 3: But I don't think unless interest rates go back to
- 5:18Speaker 3: one percent or zero percent and money is printed, that
- 5:21Speaker 3: gold is going to fall apart. And once again, if
- 5:24Speaker 3: No Regrets is bold enough and loving enough to tell
- 5:28Speaker 3: you this is what's going to happen, and this is
- 5:30Speaker 3: what I'm investing in, why not just listen to what
- 5:34Speaker 3: he's saying. He's not just talking his book. He's given
- 5:37Speaker 3: you the playbook ahead of time. This follow to what
- 5:42Speaker 3: he's saying as well. I think the golden rule is
- 5:46Speaker 3: we follow the money like the leaves.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Are left for you follow We will tell We have
- 5:50Speaker 1: a tough time in this space when you're learning and
- 5:53Speaker 1: you're learning things on your own, uh, and you're kind
- 5:56Speaker 1: of like, well I should follow it, but you go
- 5:59Speaker 1: against you know, your intuition. Sometimes it's painted for you,
- 6:04Speaker 1: it's right in front of you. You just gotta follow
- 6:06Speaker 1: the path and stop being hard headed yeah, yeah, I
- 6:11Speaker 1: will be a disciplined investor.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Thank you, yes, Or you deserve to be broke.
- 6:17Speaker 4: You don't even need a book.
- 6:19Speaker 3: You deserve to be broke if you don't deserve it
- 6:21Speaker 3: after you, that's.
- 6:23Speaker 4: A fact at all times.
- 6:25Speaker 2: And goal you know we have we are one of
- 6:27Speaker 2: the major hubs of gold right now as far as
- 6:30Speaker 2: Guinea and UH. A lot of people are not even
- 6:33Speaker 2: familiar with the country, never heard of the country before,
- 6:36Speaker 2: but the country has UH. It's a population of twelve
- 6:40Speaker 2: million people, so it's a relatively small country.
- 6:42Speaker 4: But the UAE, the so they have they have a
- 6:48Speaker 4: flight what's the airline Emirates and it flies two times
- 6:55Speaker 4: a week from here to the u A m hmm.
- 7:01Speaker 4: In the plane is a is a cargo plane that's
- 7:05Speaker 4: UH loaded with gold and to two trips every single
- 7:10Speaker 4: week full of gold to Dubai or you to Dubai
- 7:17Speaker 4: about that every every every twice a week every week.
- 7:25Speaker 1: The real transfer fee and that's the gold that they
- 7:29Speaker 1: can account for.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Yep.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Important.
- 7:32Speaker 1: There are other minerals that they're shipping that might contain
- 7:34Speaker 1: gold in side of it just because of the refining
- 7:37Speaker 1: process that hasn't been online yet. There might be gold
- 7:40Speaker 1: that's going through other minerals as well, mm hmm.
- 7:45Speaker 3: And and for commodities. A good exercise is to look
- 7:49Speaker 3: at like a fifty year historical chart just to see
- 7:52Speaker 3: what the overall trend is. There's a reason why that
- 7:58Speaker 3: plane is going and then that and you know we
- 8:02Speaker 3: have such a robust storage of it at Fort Knox.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Earners. What's up? Look?
