Latest / The Hypnotist / Hypnosis to Release Emotions of the Past and Awaken Raw Authenticity
Transcript
- 0:01Hi, it's Adam here. And in this hypnosis session
- 0:05that you're just about to listen to, you're going to be listening
- 0:07to a session all about releasing heavy emotional baggage, but
- 0:14also awakening a real sense of authenticity.
- 0:18And I was working with a client that had found themselves in a
- 0:23high paying but very toxic work environment.
- 0:27And they were kind of torn because part of them really
- 0:31liked the status and feeling of value that they were getting
- 0:37from the role. But equally, it was quite a
- 0:40toxic, gossipy kind of environment that wasn't
- 0:44conducive to them feeling good about themselves.
- 0:49And they were using alcohol to cope with these pretty heavy
- 0:54emotions that they were holding onto.
- 0:56And this particular client grew up in the UK in a school system
- 1:03where they felt out of place and because of that.
- 1:07They had this. Desperate desire to.
- 1:10Be. Accepted.
- 1:11And to fit in, even if that meant as a teenager being
- 1:16someone a little different from who they really were, they had
- 1:21learned to build a facade, put on a bit of a mask and to do
- 1:27certain things that would give them this feeling of fitting in,
- 1:33even if they weren't being 100% authentic.
- 1:37And because they learnt that in their childhood, that was them
- 1:41playing out. In this.
- 1:43Toxic work environment. So this session that you're just
- 1:47about to listen to? Is.
- 1:49Very metaphorical. It's metaphorical because the
- 1:54past was multifaceted. There was the work environment,
- 1:58there was the childhood. So it has this metaphor of a
- 2:02deep dark forest. And that represents their past
- 2:07and. Also what it meant for them to
- 2:10be accumulating emotional baggage.
- 2:13And there's actually a bag and rocks metaphor in this
- 2:17particular hypnosis session. But then there's a, an act, so
- 2:22acceptance and commitment therapy metaphor of releasing
- 2:26and letting go of those heavy emotions and also some inner
- 2:31child work. And, you know, the idea that we
- 2:34actually have an inner child inside of us is just a metaphor,
- 2:37but it can be quite a powerful metaphor.
- 2:39Because a lot. Of these coping strategies or
- 2:42core beliefs were created in our childhood, so therefore, if we
- 2:47reconnect. With that part.
- 2:49That is either has the resources that we want or was at a time
- 2:55when the new coping strategies hadn't been implemented yet.
- 2:59That can be really, really beneficial.
- 3:01And then there's something that as hypnotists, we call future
- 3:04pacing. And the future pacing is them
- 3:07having a future where they are more authentic.
- 3:11They're connected with the real version of themself.
- 3:15And having let go of that emotional baggage, they get to
- 3:18see that that version of them has a much more enjoyable,
- 3:24fulfilling future where they don't need to numb pain because
- 3:28they're not feeling their numbness.
- 3:30They can really be authentic. There's a lot going on in this
- 3:35session, but I think if you can relate to working in a toxic
- 3:39work environment or maybe a toxic relationship, maybe if you
- 3:42feel that you have to be someone that you're not in order to
- 3:45survive, or perhaps maybe you're drinking more alcohol than you
- 3:49would like. If any of those three things are
- 3:52in place, then I think you'll benefit from this session.
- 3:56Of course, it was created for an individual.
- 3:59Some of the suggestions aren't going to relate to you because
- 4:02they were created for the client that I was working with.
- 4:05So if you do like the idea of working with me directly, there
- 4:09will be a link somewhere in the description where you can
- 4:12schedule a completely free consultation call to explore
- 4:16working with me. For now though, you might get
- 4:19some value from this session, so find a quiet, comfortable place
- 4:24where you won't be. Disturbed, relax and.
- 4:27Enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in and as you
- 4:50breathe in, breathe in and resourceful feeling of calm and
- 4:56relaxation. And as you exhale, just allow
- 5:03your eyelids to feel so relaxed and so heavy.
- 5:11And with your eyes closed, notice how much more of your
- 5:17focus and attention is on the sound of my voice and the words
- 5:27and meanings. Breathing in that relaxation and
- 5:35releasing that tension as you feel that your body is drifting
- 5:42deeper and deeper. Relaxed.
- 5:47That's it. Scan your body for any clues of
- 5:53tension. Maybe the tiny muscles in your
- 6:00forehead or around your jaw. Just imagine that tension
- 6:08melting away as you breathe in that relaxation and release.
- 6:19Not just the tension, but any stress and worries as you feel
- 6:25that you've been holding onto a lot.
- 6:31A lot of emotional weight, emotional baggage.
- 6:36Things have taken their toll and it's now time to realize you
- 6:47don't need to hold on to everything.
- 6:53Certain beliefs and feelings belong in your past, not in your
- 7:02present. So breathe in that relaxation.
- 7:09And as you exhale, you realize that the deeper you breathe, the
- 7:15more relaxed you become. And the more relaxed you become,
- 7:23the deeper you breathe. And as your physical body
- 7:28relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 7:42Feel your body going deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 7:50And I wonder if you can think of a forest, maybe a forest nearby
- 8:02or perhaps a forest from your childhood or different place in
- 8:09the world that you experienced that forest.
- 8:16I want you to get a sense that when you were a child, sometimes
- 8:23you were told stories and quite often the beginning of a story
- 8:31sounds very similar. Because there was a time not so
- 8:39long ago where you walked along and winding path and imagine
- 8:49that path was through a forest that seemed to grow darker with
- 8:55every step. Imagine that forest full of
- 9:01whispers, not your voice, the voices of others, sometimes
- 9:11judgmental, gossipy, harsh or critical.
- 9:21And as you walk through the forest, sometimes you will see
- 9:24faces or hear sounds of some of those words.
- 9:32With every unjust word, with every glance that said not
- 9:38enough, not accepted. Just imagine picking up a stone
- 9:52and placing it in a backpack that feels heavy around your
- 9:59shoulders and on your back, and every time you didn't fit in,
- 10:06weren't accepted, felt that you had to be someone that wasn't
- 10:11quite you, more stones ended up in that backpack.
- 10:19So of course that backpack grew heavier, not with your failures,
- 10:29but with their projections. But you are strong and you are
- 10:36focused and you kept walking. You endured, and maybe you found
- 10:46a way to be accepted and to fit in with every step.
- 10:57You learned how to survive in a world that asked you to put on a
- 11:05facade or to wear a mask. But imagine that deep dark
- 11:13forest opens up and you see a clearing, a sacred space.
- 11:25And here in the heart of this deep dark forest, there is now
- 11:33sunlight and a clearing. And here in the stillness, you
- 11:41notice that this weight that you're carrying and have carried
- 11:45for many years now isn't yours to carry anymore.
- 11:58But over time, this pack back filled with stones and rocks.
- 12:04And I want you to imagine now slowly removing that backpack,
- 12:12placing it down in front of you there in the clearing, opening
- 12:18the bag and tipping or taking out those heavy stones.
- 12:28One for every unfair moment, One for every time you were ignored
- 12:36or silenced. One for every, every time that
- 12:44you had to self medicate in whichever way helped you.
- 12:52Because when people can't be their true self, it creates
- 12:57sometimes emotional pain that is numbed.
- 13:06That's it. Deeper and deeper.
- 13:08Relax now. And now, as you place those
- 13:12stones on the ground, talk to the stones.
- 13:18Tell them that you release them, that they are not yours, they no
- 13:25longer belong to you. The clearing accepts those
- 13:33stones. And imagine the stones transform
- 13:38within your imagination to beautiful wildflowers.
- 13:44See the vibrant colours that these heavy, awkward,
- 13:51uncomfortable stones have evolved and morphed into
- 13:57something beautiful and I want you to get a sand.
- 14:02Then any pain that you were holding onto or are holding onto
- 14:13is also evolving into something beautiful.
- 14:21And there in the clearing, in that a quiet moment of seeing
- 14:26stones turn into flowers, imagine noticing someone nearby,
- 14:35perhaps a child you recognise. This child, This child has
- 14:45qualities that remind yourself of you when you were a child.
- 14:53And I want you to imagine seeing this child barefoot, looking
- 14:59directly at you with curious and fascinated eyes.
- 15:09Imagine seeing yourself as a child at a time where that
- 15:17version of you didn't feel that need to fit in, didn't have to
- 15:25play those games, didn't have to earn the acceptance or approval
- 15:33of others. See that version of you before
- 15:38the masks, before the pressure, before the need to earn your
- 15:45worth, to see them on that rock barefoot, and imagine walking up
- 15:56to them. Tell them that you see them, you
- 16:02remember them, and imagine feeling a sense of cathartic
- 16:09release as you tell them that you're sorry because this
- 16:16version of you is the most authentic, real version of you.
- 16:25No mask, no facade. You've been showing up as the
- 16:32teenager wearing the mask, but leaving no place for the child
- 16:39that could just be themselves entirely.
- 16:48To give that apology an authentic, real apology.
- 16:55This part of you should never have been hidden, should have
- 17:00been nurtured and encouraged. And now is the time to do that
- 17:07as you tell this child that you're ready now to bring, to
- 17:16bring them on the journey you're now on.
- 17:21And this child all along just wanted your acceptance, your
- 17:26love. So imagine hugging that child,
- 17:31telling them they are accepted, they are loved.
- 17:36See them smile. Not a fake smile.
- 17:42The kind of smile that would light up a room.
- 17:46A real, authentic smile. Because all they ever wanted was
- 17:54to feel safe being exactly who they are.
- 18:03And as the child smiles, something deep inside you is
- 18:08smiling too. So stand there in that clearing
- 18:14now, lighter, freer. And I want you to imagine, given
- 18:22that you're in the middle of a deep, dark forest, you see a new
- 18:29pathway. Not the pathway you found this
- 18:34clearing, but a pathway that leads you through the forest.
- 18:42And we can call that place your future.
- 18:47But this is a glowing path that even if it's deep and dark in
- 18:54the forest, your way is clear. This is a path to the ideal
- 19:05future for you, the future of stimulation, authenticity, but
- 19:18also passion and enthusiasm. You get to enjoy your life being
- 19:27exactly as you are. This is the path that your soul
- 19:35remembers. And on this path, you don't need
- 19:42anything to numb emotions, because on this path you can
- 19:49process them, feel them, lean into them, and learn from them.
- 19:58And every now and then those heavy emotions come up and you
- 20:01can just let them pass like waves returning back to the sea.
- 20:12But you're not on this path alone.
- 20:16You're holding the hand of that small child.
- 20:22You're on this path together. And while you're walking on that
- 20:28path, you can remember a belief, a belief about that if if things
- 20:37are going well, something must go wrong.
- 20:44Not every area of your life can be perfect, but I want you to
- 20:51entertain a much better idea. Feel that old pathway is now
- 21:01behind you. And that's where that belief is.
- 21:06The pathway in front of you gives you a new way of thinking
- 21:15that when 1 area of your life improves, everything else
- 21:22expands. And you know that to be true
- 21:28because you can recall a day in your past where an amazing thing
- 21:34happened. And because that amazing thing
- 21:38happened, you felt happy, you were smiling more, there was a
- 21:44spring in your stab, and so many other good things happened that
- 21:49same day because of the first good thing.
- 21:58Deep down you know then you can have and do deserve the life
- 22:04that you want. Because now you know you deserve
- 22:11joy, you deserve peace. You deserve success that doesn't
- 22:20cost you doesn't cost you from the sense of.
- 22:26You pretending to be. Someone you're not.
- 22:32From this day forward, you carry wisdom, not wounds.
- 22:40You give yourself permission to express, not suppress, and you
- 22:48allow emotions to pass without needing to escape them.
- 22:55You can feel grounded in self acceptance when you can act from
- 23:01courage, not fear. You are freer than you ever
- 23:08thought, free to be discerning as to what comes next.
- 23:17It's down to you to pursue your. Path.
- 23:21With clarity and confidence because you are safe to be fully
- 23:30authentically you where no facade is required.
- 23:40And as you walk down this new. Path.
- 23:42The glowing path. You can feel the lightness in
- 23:46your body, the clarity in your mind, and the calm certainty
- 23:53that your best life isn't something you chase.
- 23:58It's something you align with and maybe ideas are coming to
- 24:07you as to what this ideal life includes.
- 24:13Kind of work you're doing, how you feel, what you experience
- 24:25and notice. So much more balance and
- 24:27acceptance. So much more joy.
- 24:38I want you to imagine you're coming to the end of that path
- 24:41and leaving the deep dark forest that we can call your past to a
- 24:47bright open Meadow, still holding the hand of that young
- 24:59child that's been on this journey with you, with a deep
- 25:04feeling of optimism that life is about to get so much better.
- 25:18Want you to hug that child one more time, tell them they are
- 25:22accepted and loved exactly as they are and see them joyfully
- 25:28skip away into the Meadow and it's now time for you to return
- 25:36back to the here and the now. So take a deep breath in through
- 25:42your nose and out through your nose.
- 25:48Just wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes as you connect
- 25:52and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count from 1:00
- 25:57to 10:00 to awaken you. You will awaken fully.
- 26:07All sensations returning. To your arms and legs feeling
- 26:10fully present, starting to count. 123 waking up. 456 more
- 26:20alert. 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 26:23Open your eyes 910 Wide awake. Wide awake.
- 26:29Wide awake.
