- speaker-0: Another big perspective change that I had to to choose and I I tell young moms is the whole concept of me time. Like when you have little kids, these moms are like, well, when am I gonna get my me time? And they would become embittered. What other little what other little shifts? I'll share one and then I'd like you to share another couple. Yes. one one actually that was shared with me by a wiser, an older wiser woman when I was younger. I mean, these are just those little, those little perspective shifts. I remember she said every morning she'd get up and she would go in the bathroom and she had a huge day. I mean, like you said, we're changing diapers, we're making meals, we're doing laundry. She'd walk into the bathroom and her husband's hair was all over the sink from shaving that morning. And she said she just she was always, she started her day mad. She started her day upset with him. doesn't he realize? And then one day she said, I'm gonna stop and shift my thinking. And every day I'm gonna wake up and say, God, thank you that I have a husband. Thank you that I wake up and there's evidence of a man that is here in our home, that is providing for our family, that loves us, that I get to share a bathroom, that I'm not alone. And it was just that simple shift every day that just changed her. And I remember she shared that at a Bible study. And it it just was that it's just that perspective, that simple shift. It didn't nothing else changed but that. And it changed everything. Exactly. speaker-1: It's not our circumstances that are changing, but it's our hearts. Exactly. And our reactions to our circumstances. And we can be new people at that point. You know, we are new moms when and sometimes we have to say those things out loud. Yes. I've found. Totally. To really, you know, have it sink into our hearts in that moment. speaker-0: I love the change that you said I get I I have to to I get to. And another big perspective change that I had to to choose and I I tell young moms is the whole concept of me time. Like when you have little kids, these moms are like, well, when am I gonna get my me time? And they would become embittered. Like you, like you said, we kind of become bitter and I miss my me time and my and I I always say, you need to change. What if your new me time is snuggling your baby on the couch and reading a book? Like If that is your me time, then the things that you do in your day to day will fill you, right? You're not always looking for I'll do the job as a mom and then I'll go have me time. But what if serving your family a meal is me time and we do it with joy, then God will be faithful to to bring that joy about us. That's another shift that I had to do is is that whole me time thing of like this is my me time, right? Changing diapers is my me time and it's a blessing and a gift. speaker-2: This episode of Homeschool Insights is brought to you by BJU Press Homeschool, CTC Math, and the Explorer Bible for Kids.
