- 0:00Speaker 1: I was.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Staying up at Bear Lake, and they so that we
- 0:07Speaker 2: rented this little airbnb. Very nice place. It was really
- 0:11Speaker 2: just charming and quite close to the to the water.
- 0:15Speaker 2: One year, many years ago, we rented did an Airbnb
- 0:18Speaker 2: up there, and uh, I think this was even before Airbnb.
- 0:22Speaker 2: We went through some realty company, you know, and they yeah,
- 0:27Speaker 2: and and they said sure, it's right on the water
- 0:30Speaker 2: if you want to walk for a quarter of a mile.
- 0:33Speaker 1: But this was very close to the water.
- 0:35Speaker 2: And there were several other little cabins or houses in
- 0:41Speaker 2: a row there, and some people staying in the one
- 0:44Speaker 2: next to us. They took great delight in getting out
- 0:49Speaker 2: the golf clubs and hitting golf balls into the lake,
- 0:54Speaker 2: and I just, I don't know, it just bugged the
- 0:59Speaker 2: hell out of it. And we found we must have
- 1:01Speaker 2: found half a dozen golf balls in the lake, you
- 1:06Speaker 2: know when when we were out there floating around and stuff.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Was the hell people.
- 1:11Speaker 2: And because it's quite shallow, it's bare lake where we
- 1:14Speaker 2: were anyway, it's quite shallow for a long way out.
- 1:16Speaker 3: That's littering.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean I just thought, when we
- 1:22Speaker 4: bring the National Guard up there, what's wrong with people?
- 1:25Speaker 4: What are they these are these are the worst of
- 1:27Speaker 4: the worst. These are criminals.
- 1:29Speaker 2: And now they did I think they went around and
- 1:32Speaker 2: tried to collect a bunch of them after they were
- 1:35Speaker 2: having their fun. But still we found six or seven
- 1:39Speaker 2: of them right in the part part of the beach
- 1:42Speaker 2: that we had and I just thought, you know, it
- 1:45Speaker 2: just seems rude.
- 1:46Speaker 1: It's like it's like people.
- 1:49Speaker 2: The boat traffic was pretty far off because the lake,
- 1:52Speaker 2: as I said, it's quite shallow, although you could bring
- 1:54Speaker 2: a jet ski really close, but you could hear people
- 1:58Speaker 2: just blasting their music in their boats.
- 2:01Speaker 3: You know, Oh that's always how it is.
- 2:04Speaker 2: And I just don't again again, the music is for you.
- 2:08Speaker 2: It's not for everybody on the lake. It's not for everybody,
- 2:13Speaker 2: but they you know, you gotta blast the music and
- 2:15Speaker 2: you gotta just it's just people don't have any They
- 2:19Speaker 2: they're just rude, is what they are. Fruit They don't
- 2:23Speaker 2: care about anybody else.
- 2:24Speaker 3: They're stinking up the great outdoors.
- 2:26Speaker 2: But if you're planning on going to Bear Lake there
- 2:29Speaker 2: there Logan Canyon is a mess because they're laying construction cable.
- 2:34Speaker 2: They're putting cable optic fiber optic cable, and you know,
- 2:39Speaker 2: so they have the canyon probably five places. You come
- 2:45Speaker 2: to these big stop lots because it goes down to
- 2:48Speaker 2: one lane, and so you have to wait there for
- 2:50Speaker 2: a while and while they the traffic comes through and
- 2:54Speaker 2: then they now send you on. But Sunday was fine.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Nobody was working on Sunday. But but if you're going
- 3:01Speaker 2: to Logan up through Logan Canyon, be prepared for extensive delays,
- 3:06Speaker 2: which is really not which is really not fun when
- 3:10Speaker 2: you have a car that so you want to be
- 3:14Speaker 2: able to turn it off when you know you're going
- 3:15Speaker 2: to be sitting there for twenty minutes or half an hour. Yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 2: but but we had car trouble and so we had
- 3:23Speaker 2: to leave the car running the entire time as well.
- 3:26Speaker 5: If we turn it off, we might not get it
- 3:27Speaker 5: back on again.
- 3:28Speaker 2: And that actually did happen to me. So I went down.
- 3:32Speaker 2: I went down to Layton to the funeral. I got
- 3:35Speaker 2: up in the morning, left up six point thirty in
- 3:37Speaker 2: the morning, and the car started. I was worried about
- 3:40Speaker 2: it was that I wasn't going to make it, But
- 3:42Speaker 2: the car started, and I went down the canyon and
- 3:44Speaker 2: I left it running through out and then I went
- 3:47Speaker 2: to the funeral. Home in Layton, and then when I
- 3:49Speaker 2: got out of the funeral home, the car started again.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Oh good, okay, this is good, this is this is great.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I'm just going to go over to my ex wife's
- 3:57Speaker 2: house for a few few minutes and chat and see
- 3:59Speaker 2: the kids. And so I drive over there, sit there
- 4:02Speaker 2: for ten or fifteen minutes. Well I got to get
- 4:04Speaker 2: back up to bear Lake, go out. Car doesn't start.
- 4:07Speaker 2: It's just dead as a dead as anything. So there's
- 4:11Speaker 2: there's triple A and they were fat triple A. I
- 4:15Speaker 2: had they Yeah, I had to buy a new battery.
- 4:19Speaker 2: And that was the that was the quickest way to
- 4:21Speaker 2: do it. They'll they have battery service, you know, and
- 4:24Speaker 2: you call them up and they'll they came within about
- 4:27Speaker 2: twenty minutes or half an hour, and the guy, yeah,
- 4:31Speaker 2: you know, you're battery shot. They're all Donator's fine. Battery shot.
- 4:36Speaker 2: So that's what I had to do. That was more fun.
- 4:39Speaker 5: You see the bear Lake Monster.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Nope, No, and I didn't.
- 4:43Speaker 2: And I didn't get a Raspberry shake either, and I
- 4:46Speaker 2: feel bad about that.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I should have gotten a riot.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Resume any raspberry product at all, Yes, yes, fresh raspberries.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Okay, yes, at least you got some.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, because bear Lake is famous for their raspberries, if
- 5:01Speaker 2: you didn't know, and they're also famous for their Cisco.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Cisco. It's a little fish.
- 5:08Speaker 2: That that grows only in bare Lake, that lives only
- 5:12Speaker 2: in bare Lake.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 2: They spawn in the like in January or something like that,
- 5:18Speaker 2: and that's the only time you get them. You they
- 5:20Speaker 2: net them. They come up to the shore to spawn
- 5:24Speaker 2: and you net them. And uh, you know, they're about
- 5:29Speaker 2: like they're like a like a sardine.
- 5:31Speaker 1: They're tiny.
- 5:32Speaker 2: They're tiny, and the people the way the way they're
- 5:35Speaker 2: they're pretty tasty. You just you don't bother cleaning them
- 5:39Speaker 2: because they're so small.
- 5:40Speaker 1: You just you know, roll them around.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Oh yeah, just roll them around in some flour from
- 5:47Speaker 2: fryme in butter. And they're they're pretty tasty. They get
- 5:52Speaker 2: all crispy and crunchy.
- 5:54Speaker 1: No thanks, Well, nobody's offering you with enough butter.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Hey, Gena, I'm having a big Cisco fry, won't you come?
- 6:03Speaker 1: No, Oh, come on, We're gonna have slamses for beverages.
- 6:07Speaker 5: Tell that was earlier this morning.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Tell people get what those are.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Slamsys are this beverage I found at a liquor store in Idaho,
- 6:14Speaker 2: and it's uh. This one was banana pudding, and I
- 6:17Speaker 2: love banana putting. I hadn't had it for a long time,
- 6:19Speaker 2: so I got the banana putting slamsy uh and it
- 6:23Speaker 2: and he tasted pretty banana.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I mean it was pretty good. But it's fifteen percent alcohol.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Nan Are pudding.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Yeah, this is cheerleader alcohol. Huh. But again, grown adult people,
- 6:39Speaker 1: it is.
- 6:39Speaker 2: It's for grown adult people who know how to have
- 6:42Speaker 2: a good time, like who like to.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Hit golf balls into the lake.
- 6:47Speaker 6: It's grape wine with real cream, natural flavors and yellow
- 6:50Speaker 6: number five Yellow.
- 6:54Speaker 2: They have a cookies and cream one too. I'd try
- 6:57Speaker 2: them all, Yeah, I would. I should have bought one
- 6:59Speaker 2: of beach but and I got it. I got it,
- 7:02Speaker 2: like laid in a supply of buzzballs as well, which
- 7:05Speaker 2: I really like.
- 7:07Speaker 5: Which is okay, the most interesting man in the world,
- 7:10Speaker 5: Remember the most interesting man in the world.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Huh huh. Yeah, you're looking at him right here.
- 7:15Speaker 5: He's not drinking a buzz ball. Don't you aspire to
- 7:19Speaker 5: be like the most interesting man.
- 7:21Speaker 4: In the world?
- 7:22Speaker 1: You mean pretentious?
- 7:23Speaker 2: No, No, I'm a man of the people, Gina.
- 7:27Speaker 6: You know that's why he's in a poetry society.
- 7:30Speaker 2: You know, the buzz ball is is, but they also
- 7:34Speaker 2: have a buzz bomb. They're huge, and I don't know
- 7:37Speaker 2: how you're I really haven't. Just just I can can't
- 7:41Speaker 2: figure out how you're supposed to drink them, Like for
- 7:43Speaker 2: one person, I think you must. You have to be
- 7:46Speaker 2: there for these. Yeah, but they're I mean I think
- 7:50Speaker 2: it's a half gallon or something. It's big, the buzz bomb.
- 7:55Speaker 2: But they make a peanut colada one that tastes pretty good,
- 7:57Speaker 2: and a coke, you know, like a chocolate one, and
- 8:00Speaker 2: the flavor, the fruit flavored ones are not so good.
- 8:03Speaker 2: They taste really artificial. But you know, so what if
- 8:07Speaker 2: what if a cocoat? You know it's artificial that it's
- 8:10Speaker 2: got enough alcohol in it. It's fine. Same thing with
- 8:12Speaker 2: this slamsey, this banana putting slamsy. I mean you can,
- 8:16Speaker 2: I mean the alcohol really hits you good. You can
- 8:19Speaker 2: taste the alcohol.
- 8:21Speaker 6: Well, it's because you get the wide open, the wide
- 8:24Speaker 6: mouth to drink from. Just yeah, and you're gone where
- 8:29Speaker 6: the buzz bombs. That's a smaller opening. It's like a
- 8:32Speaker 6: little beer can take a little a little longer and
- 8:36Speaker 6: you can't quite get all of the liquid out of
- 8:38Speaker 6: the buzz wall. That's that's something that really bothers me
- 8:42Speaker 6: about them.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Yeah, Bill's shake in it.
- 8:45Speaker 1: You can't.
- 8:45Speaker 2: There's just always a little bit in there that won't
- 8:48Speaker 2: kind of come out.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Because I was a design of the packaging.
- 8:50Speaker 3: See, I was thinking about this the other day.
- 8:51Speaker 6: You know the standard flask, you know the square, Yeah,
- 8:57Speaker 6: bad design. I know that it's to be so that
- 9:00Speaker 6: you can keep your pocket in your pocket. Yeah, I
- 9:02Speaker 6: understand that, but surely there must be a better design,
- 9:06Speaker 6: some sort of.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Angular top, because does it get stuck.
- 9:09Speaker 6: Because well it does, getting it clean is impossible.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I've got I've got one that made Aladdin
- 9:17Speaker 2: Stanley makes a flask I think Whiskey Dave gave it
- 9:20Speaker 2: to me, and that's it's pretty. It's it's got a
- 9:24Speaker 2: wider opening. Is it flat though, so it'll fit your pocket?
- 9:28Speaker 6: It's see I'm saying, combine these two designs flat but
- 9:33Speaker 6: with a pointed top.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Have you ever seen one of those flasks that are
- 9:37Speaker 2: kind of there, I don't know how to describe it.
- 9:39Speaker 2: They're kind of oval shaped and they bulge out a
- 9:42Speaker 2: little bit in the center.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Yes, I have one of those.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Yeah, those are that Those are pretty good.
- 9:47Speaker 6: Yeah, that one's around and it's easier to clean. You
- 9:51Speaker 6: can get all that beverage out. So that's that's that's
- 9:54Speaker 6: the design. These standard ones. I'm not interested anymore, even
- 9:58Speaker 6: though my favorite one is a standard square flask.
- 10:02Speaker 3: It's the one that Ivy gave me with the.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Temple on it, with the kitty cat on it, and
- 10:08Speaker 6: the kitty cat has got his tongue up touching his nose,
- 10:13Speaker 6: and for some reason, along the bottom it says, dad ass,
- 10:17Speaker 6: I just love it, dad ass, little kitty cat bloop
- 10:24Speaker 1: All right,
