  [SPEAKER_00]: Got my son's birthday and my sister's birthday, same day on Tuesday, so we're going to be out of town.

  [SPEAKER_00]: provide what I think from what I've seen or my offseason MVP awards.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just going to give five players that I think have really stood out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Pretty much every practice.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to get into it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We've seen three practices of mandatory mini camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A couple of OTAs, so it's not like a huge sample size, but you're going to see one more OTA next week for media purposes and three total, it's going to be a passing camp basically according to Liam Cohen, and then it's schools out for summer until training camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to go ahead and talk about what I've seen so far, just like the players that have stood out the most.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, we're going to be in offseason mode basically for a month and a half, month and a couple weeks until training camp gets going.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Looking at these MVP's, five players that have really stood out to me the most.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And look, if there was practice replays, we'd be able to see a little bit more from the offensive line and defensive line, if I could watch and go back and evaluate that more, but this stuff happens so fast, you don't have the best vantage point, I'm not complaining at all, but just from an evaluation standpoint, it's difficult to evaluate offensive and defensive line, not only because of,

  [SPEAKER_00]: how bang bang it is and how you don't get to watch the replays, but also because they're not really going as hard as they possibly could in those areas, whereas you see guys that are more outside, cornerbacks, receivers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: These types of players kind of standing out a little bit more one way or the other.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's just kind of the nature of the off-season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And once training camp gets going, I think you'll be able to see a little bit more from offensive and defensive linemen, and evaluate that a little bit better with the pads on and all that good stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But for now, this list is not going to include any offensive defensive linemen, but I would say, there's been practices where Josh Heinz Allen looked unblockable.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's been a lot of moments for Trayvon Walker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Dr. Fees had multiple good plays in the backfield as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that for a Luke and leadership has been amazing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't done a lot from a team standpoint getting those young guys a lot of reps right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Branson Combs has stood out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that Benchall Miller stood out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Devon Hamilton for sure.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like one thing about Devon, when they're doing these drills and he's hitting other defensive linemen when they're in an individual, you can just see the impact that guy is so strong.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So and he's been helping a lot with Albert Regis, they talked about that on the hunt last night and the hunt was excellent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It didn't really provide much that I didn't already know.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So it's normally doing a hot reaction video, but I feel like I would just be rehashing things that I've already talked about.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Although I think it was excellent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It was fun to kind of go back and relive some of those draft calls and go through the process a little bit more.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I don't think it was really anything that from a

  [SPEAKER_00]: information standpoint that was super illuminating stuff that we didn't really know already or hadn't talked about already.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Talk about these guys that have performed really well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr. Man, and really you could say the entire top three receivers right now, BTJ Parker Washington, Jacobie Myers, Parker Washington's on the list

  [SPEAKER_00]: The receivers have been excellent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Your barman homed has been excellent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Facial two and has been excellent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence has been really good too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So those are, that's my list there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: BTJ, what have you seen?

  [SPEAKER_00]: great play on the field.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's getting open deep.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's catching everything thrown his way.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Pads haven't been on.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't had the, you know, potential, mental, you know, block of, of having to prepare for a big hit on the field.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's something that it looked like it was an issue for him early last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: As he broke in that, it feels like it, but we haven't seen him get popped, we haven't seen him get hit yet.

  [SPEAKER_00]: His mentality is different, maturity level is much stronger, I think, is work that he's put in this offseason has been incredible, but as amazing as it has been, seeing him get deep and seeing him catch everything and seeing him compete, you know, really, really at a high level in practice.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be one of those things where every step that gets you closer and closer to the regular season is going to give you more confidence if you continue to play the way he has played.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I got to give him an offseason MVP so far for sure, he absolutely deserves it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: As I mentioned, Jabar Muhammad at corner,

  [SPEAKER_00]: There has not been a player who has made more plays on the ball than Jabarmun Hammond.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, Basel Tutan, excuse me.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I've basel Tutan next on my list.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to say, Buster Brown.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's made plays.
• 6:56
  [SPEAKER_00]: He's also going up against the best receivers on the team a lot more often than not.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so there's going to be some moments where they get him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, B.T.J.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington, Jacobian Wires, really good football players.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're not gonna be 100% clean as a corner when you're going up against those guys.

  [SPEAKER_00]: In Japan, Muhammad has it been 100% clean, but I think every practice that we have attended, he either has a pass break up, multiple pass break ups, an interception, he's been lights out, and he's a undraft of free agent from last year out at Oregon, who just didn't get drafted because he was smaller.

  [SPEAKER_00]: that he should not have been drafted.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But again, we'll undersized a super sticky player in coverage, and

  [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of man coverage in college, there was zone two, but I think what really stood out on his tape in college was that stickiness in coverage, whether it be Manor Zone and you're seeing that this year so far for him, you're also seeing him read things incredibly well in zone coverage, break on balls underneath, compete at the catch point down the field,

  [SPEAKER_00]: he's shown some really impressive hands.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there was one play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't a play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It was a drill, but their DBs were practicing catching the football, and he extended for a one-handed grab down the field that a wide receiver would have been impressive to see a wide receiver do that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He did it as a corner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So he's just been lights out, and he's competing for the back of the roster.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's keep five corners, so they keep six, obviously Travis Hunter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Factors into that equation, but right now, you're talking about Travis Hunter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Lewis, who's still not practicing yet, but you ought to assume at some point in training camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Travis Hunter, Jordan Lewis, Buster Brown, Jarring Jones, Christian Braswell, would be like the top five in the clubhouse right now, do they keep six?

  [SPEAKER_00]: If they don't keep six, could your bar move homed, push Christian Braswell, who has also done some nice things.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be fascinating to see that cornerback competition kind of really play out because you've also got other guys that have done some good things, Preston Hodge, Kenny Hlawley, Dave Jackson comes in as a very experienced player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Devin Marshall's made plays too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be really, I think, a hot competition on the back end of that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and speaking of competition, you know, basal tuton has been a standout performer at the running back spot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Every practice he's getting into the open field and making plays obviously difficult to evaluate this position as well, just because you're not tackling, but it feels like there's plays where,

  [SPEAKER_00]: He has the vision and agility and then obviously the pace and speed that he's not even getting touched.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's well blocked and he'll see his lane and he'll hit it or he'll make a cut back and he'll find another lane and he'll hit it and he's getting downfield.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're also seeing that a lot from Jamari Taylor and he's

  [SPEAKER_00]: I would not be surprised if they keep for running backs because they have Chris Rodriguez who hasn't been practicing, basal to Noviously is going to be on the team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's looked incredible, like when Allen ain't going anywhere, and Jamari Taylor, he's been playing lights out football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: with somebody who could pass block, who could catch the ball at the back field, and who could run well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, I would not be surprised to see them keep forerunning backs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If they do keep forerunning backs, that could impact a different position, like corner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like we just talked about.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, that's going to be something to keep an eye on for sure.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Did one of the red Trevor Lawrence in here just because pretty much every practice he had outside of the 10 of 19 practice, the first practice of, uh,

  [SPEAKER_00]: of mandatory mini camp that we've seen has been lights out and even the 10 of 19 day it wasn't like he played particularly poor there was just like a few plays that the connection was just a tick off to where and the defense was playing at an extremely high level on that day.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Corners, you know, safeties, linebackers and coverage.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It was sticky coverage that day for sure.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So even that wasn't a bad performance, but it just wasn't quite as sharp as you'd like to see.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But outside of that, I think Trevor Lawrence has been really good.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, there's been a couple of interceptions on deep balls.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But Liam Cohen praised him for trying to push the envelope with the deep passing game while also not having very many turnovers or turnover worthy throws during this camp and OTAs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And again, there's been a lot of OTAs that we didn't even get to see.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think there's been 60 OTAs so far.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And media was at two or three of them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not a lot to go off from our perspective, but when Liam Cohen's complimenting Trevor Lawrence on the entirety of the OTAs in many camp in that regard, I think that stands out for sure, like Liam doesn't throw out compliments for no reason, like when he's complimenting you, he's serious about it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When he's saying those things you can improve on, he's serious about it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence has played really well and I think he's shown a lot of growth in this offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's obviously showing a much better connection with Brian Thomas Jr. right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's showing that connection that he's pretty much always had with Parker Washington and Jacobi Myers actually getting to go through this offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like a full off season and really sync his teeth into it and get to know everything not just like flying by the seat of his pants week to week Getting traded midseason jacobies done well, but I did want to shout out parker because I think he's just had

  [SPEAKER_00]: And again, Jacobie's been great too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I think Parker just has shown that ability to really be a three-level threat to be a guy who can, like he was doing at the end of last season, be a double-digit target per game type of player because you can utilize him in so many different ways.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and he hasn't had a bad practice yet.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's on a lot of really good practices.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar has have been spreading the ball around.

  [SPEAKER_00]: BTJ has been getting the ball more and there's several other players you can shout out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: who might not have as prominent roles as Parker Washington, but CJ Williams has mostly been excellent as a route runner at the catch point, you know, sitting down in zone coverage, beating man coverage, great feet.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Josh Cameron hasn't participated the whole time, but when he's been targeted, he's looked really good as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you talk about some other receivers, Tanner Koziel at Titan, he's made a play every single practice impressive down the field or in the end zone.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So there's been a lot of good stuff so far, but pads haven't come on yet.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's when it gets really intense and training camp when the pads come on.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you've been going at it for days on end, it's hot and it got hot at mandatory and many camp for sure, certainly the last day.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's been a good start to building this 2026 Jacksonville Jaguar's team on the field.
