  Well, I'm blessed, Kelly.

  You and I have become good friends, I would say, over the past few months since we've been

  introduced to each other, but I'm just meeting Laurie and Sunny.

  And I'm so excited for this event coming to my home state, my new home kind of of Sioux Falls
• 0:50
  where we do quite a few events with our organization.
• 0:53
  And this is something very new to our area, not just your event particular.
• 0:59
  I know this is the first time that you've hosted this year, but we don't get a lot of
• 1:02
  these events, period, in South Dakota.
• 1:04
  You know, mostly on the West Side, as Lori would know, Deadwood and the Rapid City area
• 1:09
  are big supporters of this kind of event.
• 1:11
  But Sioux Falls is a new market.
• 1:14
  It's a big market, and I feel like it's ripe for this kind of event.
• 1:18
  So very excited 100%.
• 1:20
  Ladies and the event.

  So, Laurie, I wanna go ahead and start with you.

  Give us a, you know, a a few minutes of background and then lead us into what will be
• 1:31
  this amazing event on June 7.

  I've been having the expos for eight years now.
• 1:38
  I used to do about ten years.
• 1:40
  So I was just thinking the other day, I'm close to my hundredth expo, and I really gotta
• 1:44
  research that to to see what one that falls on.
• 1:46
  But I had an awakening of my own.
• 1:50
  I had gone through the dark night of the soul for many years.
• 1:53
  Didn't really know what it was and found out, and it changed my life for the better.
• 1:59
  At the time, it it wasn't, but it made me who I am today, and I'm very happy with who I am
• 2:05
  today.
• 2:06
  I've been called a soul connector by some of my vendors, and I found that really is to be true.

  No other device not found.

  Ready to connect.

  I connect, people that are looking for

  Agree 100%.

  Different, aspects out there or different way to live their life better with vendors and
• 2:29
  stuff that's already been there and have learned from their their awakenings.

  So that's what we do is put peep people together and share our experiences to make all
• 2:39
  of our life a little bit easier and magical.

  You speak of your own journey, and, I I have had a long one of my own.

  That dark night of the soul can be a lot longer than a night.
• 2:59
  Some people, it's probably decades and kind of lost in that that everyday struggle, right, of

  of even if you're even if you're functioning, right, even if you are working the job and have
• 3:14
  a stellar career and you have all of these things going for you, it's very easy to feel
• 3:18
  unfulfilled in this life.
• 3:20
  And and I feel like not only did you have that for yourself, but you have the skills,
• 3:25
  obviously, coming up to your hundredth event to bring all of these other people together that
• 3:30
  have probably gone through that same, you know, that same dark night themselves and had that
• 3:35
  same awakening.
• 3:36
  Can you speak a little bit to the power of these kind of expos, these these conferences,
• 3:43
  these these style of events for doing exactly that, bringing people together and making
• 3:48
  connections?
• 3:49
  Yes.
• 3:51
  One thing about when you're going through stuff like that, if you don't know you're going
• 3:54
  through it, you think that's just the way life is supposed to be, and it's not.
• 3:58
  It's supposed to be joyful.
• 3:59
  It's supposed to be about connection.

  So when you come to an expo like this that we do, we call it a spiritual and holistic expo
• 4:06
  because you could find everything there spiritual and holistic under one roof.
• 4:10
  So you have all these vendors.
• 4:12
  You have all these speakers.
• 4:14
  You can come in with whatever point you're at in your journey.
• 4:18
  But when you leave, you just feel refreshed.
• 4:22
  You feel renewed.
• 4:23
  Like, you can take on the world in that moment, and it just uplifts your soul.

  Yeah.

  And then you you can take a lot of that home with you, what you've learned, and carry that
• 4:33
  with you.
• 4:35
  It just makes life easier.
• 4:36
  You find out that the world can be magical.
• 4:39
  We create our own reality, which is hard to believe because then why would we create
• 4:43
  suffering and things like that?
• 4:45
  But when you find that out, it changes your mindset.
• 4:50
  And I talk about a lot, because so many of the people that I work with are are creatives.
• 4:55
  Right?
• 4:56
  The scene projects is a big supporter of just independent, musicians mostly, but now
• 5:02
  podcasters and all kinds of creative people.
• 5:04
  And it's very easy for us to feel alone, right, in that space because you are kind of the
• 5:11
  center of your own universe.
• 5:12
  No matter no matter what you do, it's sometimes tough to find community in what we do.
• 5:19
  And I have found that these kind of conferences or or or whatever title they're given, these
• 5:25
  places where community are formed is where we find the not just the energy, but sometimes the
• 5:32
  courage to keep going.
• 5:35

  Well, that's crazy how close we were to not having this because if Kelly didn't have

  Kelly, talk to me about why Sioux Falls is kind of the perfect place to have this event and why

  you kinda chose the Denny Sanford and the and the Sioux Falls Convention Center to work

  together with Laurie on this event.

  Well, thank again, thank you for having us.

  And, Laurie, I've I've I've been one of her vendors.

  I've spoken at her events.
• 6:34
  I just love how the lady rolls.

  Like, right?

  It's there's just there's a frequency.

  There's a cadence.

  It's the it's it's the communications ahead of time as so I've been I've been her client, and

  she's been mine.
• 6:48
  So we've had this really fun collaborative, relationship leading up to it.

  She really hits the Dakotas and Montana, and then I'm based in Minnesota.

  I mean, so how is Sioux Falls not, like, the perfect little kiss of a little beautiful space

  for us to come together collectively?

  I've also so I'm a psychic medium myself, and I've been intuitively getting that Sioux Falls,

  it's it's ready.

  It's it's ready for this.

  I know there's a lot of practitioners that are popping up.
• 7:19
  As we've been doing research and making connections for this beautiful event, I get so
• 7:24
  many people that are like, I just went to a sound bath last week.

  And I'm like, good for you.

  I just got my first crystal.
• 7:31
  Oh, you need to come see us.

  So there's these people that are really, really coming in, and and I don't wanna say waking up
• 7:37
  because that's kind of a term.
• 7:39
  Open minded, and they're curious.
• 7:41
  And that is what it's the it's the trust and the love that Laurie creates with her
• 7:47
  communities.
• 7:48
  She is a connector, and she is she is so all in making sure that everybody's having an amazing
• 7:56
  experience from load in to load out and the people coming through the door.

  And if they have kids, I mean, like, everything has just this Lori magical touch to it, and
• 8:05
  that's what we're bringing to Sioux Falls.

  So Danny Sanford, because that's where we started.

  Like, we looked at other venues, and they brought it.

  And and Doria and their team and Courtney and, like, anybody and if I'm forgetting anyone, I
• 8:19
  apologize.

  They just they've been treating us with kindness and respect, and we've never been to
• 8:25
  the venue.
• 8:26
  Like, so we're doing this, and we're going.

  And and they're just they're just so supportive and so helping, and they're excited.

  And they're like, Dorea's like, can I hang posters around town?

  Can I get magazines out?

  Like, you don't get that in certain markets.
• 8:40
  And we just that's why it's like Sioux Falls.

  And jump in.

  We're trying this, and we're so excited.

  I'm excited to partner with Lori, and we're so excited to bring Sunny to it as well.

  I think I think it's gonna be a great day.

  It's gonna be a great pre event and post event, and I just I just see it super busy.

  It's like Disney World for me.

  Like, I go to these vendors, and I'm like, oh, I wanna spend money with you, and I wanna I

  wanna have a service with you, and I wanna do this, and I wanna do that.

  Like, I'm I can't I have lock my credit cards up.

  I can't go to these shows and and do what I wanna do, and it is.

  It's amazing.

  And it's you can't go to Target for these things.

  So it's just come and be curious.

  I have to calm down.

  I'm just get too excited.

  Well, it's easy to get excited about.

  And what I love be because of the nature of these events and because of the nature of the

  vendors that come to these events, it's all independent businesses.

  It is all, you know, usually mom and pop shop.
• 9:35
  It is it is small business.
• 9:37
  It is creatives.
• 9:38
  It's everything that I love about doing my job as a podcaster performer, event producer.

  It's bringing together so much of what I enjoy about just being out here in the world.

  Right?

  So very fortunate.

  She's the one who connected us, Kelly and Lori.

  And I'm just thrilled.

  I ran into her when we were there for a hockey game few weeks ago and told her, you know,

  thanks for giving me a new best friend in Kelly.

  We talk all the time now, and she's just wonderful.

  And and you don't get that in a lot of cities dealing with a venue as that.

  I mean, the Denny Sanford Premier Center is a 10,000 plus seat event center.

  It would be very easy for them to look down their nose at all of us.

  Right?

  The it's a at all of us.
• 10:28
  And instead of doing that, they have come to all of us with open arms.
• 10:33
  And, you know, I I've already been invited by Doria to to help them out with promoting a
• 10:38
  couple of other large scale events, which for a a small podcast, you know, our reach is growing
• 10:44
  every day, but it it feels like we're really on the right path, that we're we're doing the
• 10:48
  right things.
• 10:49
  And and we're servicing our community, not just the listeners, but also the events themselves
• 10:55
  and the, you know, the promoters, the event spaces, we're doing something correct.

  So a great lead in now to our keynote speaker for the event, Sunny Dawn Johnston.

  Why don't you introduce yourself and give us a little bit of your background and what we can
• 11:12
  expect from your speech.

  And I think it's a little bit of an interactive thing this for this event.

  Correct?

  Yeah.

  It sure is.

  And I have to say, after listening to you guys, I'm even more excited because one of the things
• 11:26
  that really is true to my heart is giving giving people, you know, small mom and pop, you
• 11:31
  know, small businesses the opportunity to grow.
• 11:34
  That's why I'm a part of Expose.
• 11:36
  That's why I started in Xposed twenty five years ago with Edge Magazine in Minnesota a
• 11:42
  long, long time ago.
• 11:44
  So so I'm really honored to be here and appreciate the opportunity.

  You know, so I my story starts back at the age of 13.
• 11:55
  I started seeing well, I woke up one night in the middle of the night and saw my guardian
• 11:58
  angel, and I didn't even believe that there were angels, and I certainly did not believe
• 12:03
  that I had an angel.
• 12:04
  So when that experience happened, what happened inside of me is I had this amazing experience
• 12:12
  and some amazing feeling and this energy of unconditional love that I really hadn't ever
• 12:17
  felt before.
• 12:17
  But what that led to, which is really why I wanna be a part of this this particular event,
• 12:25
  is it led to curiosity.
• 12:28
  It called me into, okay.
• 12:30
  I know that was real.
• 12:31
  I don't know where it came from.
• 12:32
  I don't know why it came, but I wanna learn more, and I wanna feel more, and I wanna
• 12:36
  experience more of that, that that energy of love and that energy of connectedness that I
• 12:41
  didn't even know that I was missing.
• 12:44
  Right?
• 12:44
  But I was kind of a depressed teenager.
• 12:46
  I was kinda grumpy, and I don't maybe they all are.
• 12:49
  I don't know.
• 12:49
  But I for sure was.
• 12:51
  And and so that led me into being curious about what else is out there.
• 12:57
  And so as I got more curious and I asked more questions, more and more connection to the
• 13:04
  spiritual realms, to my angels, to my guides, to deceased loved ones started coming through.
• 13:09
  And so I've spent the last twenty five years of my life creating a a career out of helping
• 13:15
  people to connect to that curiosity, helping them follow that that path, and and connect to
• 13:22
  their their natural intuitive abilities, which we all have.
• 13:26
  And even when we think we don't, the ones that tell me they don't are the funniest ones.
• 13:30
  They're the ones like, okay.
• 13:31
  Let's let me let me just show you a few things right here.
• 13:34
  Right?
• 13:34
  So this weekend, we are going to Friday night, we're doing a VIP event, which, you know, we
• 13:40
  only have a couple tickets left, but super excited about that because I really get to
• 13:44
  connect and have a smaller group of people to to really help support and give guidance and
• 13:50
  teach and do some do some sessions and readings with.
• 13:54
  And then on Saturday, I'm doing a class where I'm gonna teach people about their intuition
• 13:59
  and about mediumship and how how we can really open up to the way that spirit, universe, god,
• 14:07
  whatever term you use, is coming to us and through us.
• 14:11
  And when we start to you know, I've done this for so long.
• 14:14
  When you start to see some of the pieces and you put the puzzle together, it, like, creates
• 14:19
  this beautiful, amazing experience that gets you excited about life, kind of to Laurie's
• 14:25
  point.
• 14:25
  You know?
• 14:26
  That's like, oh my gosh.
• 14:27
  There are these things, there is this guidance.
• 14:28
  There is this support, and there is a reason why this is happening.
• 14:31
  And it's not just because I'm, you know, a a victim or I'm bad or I'm wrong.
• 14:35
  It's like, oh, let me learn from this.
• 14:37
  Let me grow, and how can I step into a deeper connection and learn to trust myself and and my
• 14:44
  connection, which I think is at the heart of where depression, dark night of the soul, those
• 14:49
  things begin is with that lack of trust?
• 14:52
  So that's how we that's how we heal.
• 14:54
  And I'm super excited to bring that and more to, to the weekend.
• 14:59
  And I just love I feel like that is where spirituality and religion kinda split.

  Right?
• 15:06
  Is that spirituality is forever curious, and religion is trying to know this is the way that
• 15:12
  it is and very rigid.
• 15:14
  And and that's probably why we have had such a movement kind of away from organized religion
• 15:20
  over the last several decades.
• 15:22
  We've had a lot of spiritual awakening on many levels that there is a guidance that we cannot
• 15:29
  explain, and sometimes you don't need to.
• 15:32
  Not everything needs to be explained in a scientific matter.
• 15:37
  Your case in point, I just went on a 4,000 trip tour around the country through Minneapolis,
• 15:42
  Chicago, St.
• 15:43
  Louis, Kansas City, all the way down to Austin, Texas, and every wrong turn I made led me to an
• 15:49
  an an inevitable better spot that I would have gotten to on my own.
• 15:54
  So explain that.
• 15:55
  Explain how every time I screw up the directions on Google Maps, I'm led to an even
• 16:00
  better situation than the one I was trying to take myself to.
• 16:04
  So, firm believer in everything that you are saying and exactly why I was so excited to,
• 16:11
  jump, cannonball into this event with you all.
• 16:14
  Really looking forward to the VIP event, which is June 6.

  I know that, you mentioned there's only a few seats and tickets left for that, but, I kinda

  have the I have the press release pulled up now, and it says, dive deep into connecting

  with your angels with hands on guidance.

  And I would like to know a little bit more about how that kind of looks for these people

  that will be attending the VIP conference.

  Well, you know, I think that one of the things that makes the work that I do a little bit
• 16:46
  different than other people is that I I like to give people the experience.

  I don't wanna lecture them.

  I don't wanna necessarily even be the teacher.

  What I wanna do is take you into an experience where you feel what I'm talking about.
• 16:58
  And so the the blessing that we have is I have a musician that travels with me, and she plays
• 17:04
  music that helps to support and activate the frequency of what we're wanting to connect
• 17:10
  with.
• 17:10
  So the angelic realm, our deceased loved ones, communicating really with spirit and leaving.
• 17:17
  So they will leave with an experience.
• 17:20
  Not just knowledge, but actual wisdom that has been embodied.
• 17:24
  And for me, that's where I believe that we really expand is when we have the experience.
• 17:29
  You can tell me something all day long, and I may or may not choose to to believe it.
• 17:35
  However, if I have an experience, now it's mine, and now I have a story then to share that
• 17:40
  creates a ripple effect that is a a win win for everyone.
• 17:44
  So, absolutely, both Friday night in the in the VIP experience, which was just a smaller group,
• 17:51
  so it'll be much more one on one.
• 17:53
  You know, we'll have that ability, q and a and all that.
• 17:56
  And then also on in the Saturday event, being able to really let people come in with whatever

  wherever they are, but leave with an experience in their their mind, their body, their spirit,
• 18:09
  and their emotions so they can go out into the world and then choose what they want to create
• 18:13
  with conscious awareness of what they can actually tap into.

  Amazing.

  And as a musician and songwriter myself, I can definitely, you know, back up the the
• 18:26
  connection between between frequency, sound, and delivering that experience.

  So, I mean, we spend so much time in our homes.

  And if you think about, people that are working from home now, I mean, there's, like, there's

  so much going on with our homes, that I think this is gonna be a fantastic presentation.

  transition, and it's been just so heartwarming.

  they're like, well, here's my moldavite, and then I got this in Arkansas.

  And so they start talking, and it's really fun because the audience just starts frantically

  taking notes.

  And we just we have some great crystal experts that, again, from 03:30 to 04:30 on Saturday.

  So, I mean, we're bringing a great you have your you have your vendors, and we're gonna

  have around 60 vendors.

  Again, like Disney World, not kidding, every single booth you're gonna wanna spend time
• 21:20
  with.

  And then from eleven to 04:30, we have some great sessions coming in.

  So it's gonna be a really good day.

  And that's what's really great about bringing the vendors and not just the information.

  I know you just finished one up here in my hometown of Deadwood, South Dakota, very

  Now you're coming across the state to do this.

  Is it a goal of yours to kinda set up, as a as a yearly, as an annual event in these markets

  that you're working in so people can get kinda used to a schedule of when, you know, soul of
• 22:19
  spirits or awaken your spiritual curiosity, whatever the name of the event might be, that

  we're gonna get a little piece of Lori in there.

  We're hoping this is gonna be a huge success and, bring it to all the people who are looking

  for this type of of event, and we will be back.

  And Sunny Dawn Johnston, I just have to say, when I had my awakening, it it was twenty

  fifteen when I finally realized what was happening.

  And something popped up on my computer one day, and it was a Sunny Dawn Johnston was gonna be

  in Fargo, North Dakota with invoking your archangels.
• 22:56
  Goosebumps.
• 22:58
  I knew right away.
