A Superior police officer won’t face charges after shooting a man who called 911 asking to be shot — the DA says it was justified self-defense, even though the suspect’s girlfriend was also hit. Body cam footage shows the suspect lunging with a knife, prompting the officer to fire. The suspect later admitted he was in the wrong headspace and wanted to be hurt — not to hurt the officer. Wisconsin law allows self-defense to protect innocent third parties, which applies here.
