- Gary: Have you ever prayed honestly and still felt like heaven was silent? As Jesus hung on the cross, he cried out, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Those words from Matthew chapter 27, 46 are raw and painful. Jesus wasn't hiding his anguish or pretending that the moment did not hurt. He was also echoing Psalms 22, a prayer that begins in distress and continues towards trust in God. That matters because faith doesn't require us to deny our pain or dress it up in easy answers. Sometimes faith means bringing the hardest questions straight to God. Maybe you've asked, why is this happening? Or where are you in this? Asking those questions doesn't make you weak. And it doesn't mean you've stopped believing. It means you're being honest about what you are carrying. Free thinking means questioning the assumption that strong faith always looks confident and certain. What if faith can also look like staying in the conversation with God, even when you don't understand the answer? You don't have to pretend that it's that everything is okay today. Tell God the truth about what hurts and let someone you trust stand with you while walking through it. Good morning. I'm Gary Hults with North Man Coaching.
