- 0:08Speaker 1: Manager's meeting.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I saw Tory Lavello on there, the diamondback skipper joining
- 0:12Speaker 2: us right now and FT live in Orlando.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Tori, great to see you.
- 0:16Speaker 1: How's it going down here? And what do you do?
- 0:18Speaker 1: You do you like? You know, you're in the room
- 0:20Speaker 1: and you're like, don't trade him? I really like him?
- 0:22Speaker 4: Yeah, uh, yeah's exactly right.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Right, I'm on the wall. I goes traded.
- 0:31Speaker 4: I don't know what's going on. So, yeah, we're tight,
- 0:35Speaker 4: We're tight. You know, he's a good player. People are smart,
- 0:39Speaker 4: like they want good players, and of course they're gonna
- 0:42Speaker 4: ask for our best player.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I don't know where that process is.
- 0:45Speaker 4: I just know that that he's a great baseball player
- 0:48Speaker 4: that helps swim baseball game. So yeah, when Mike would ask,
- 0:51Speaker 4: if he asked me, I'd be like, no, don't but
- 0:54Speaker 4: that's not my department. And I don't know where that
- 0:57Speaker 4: that whole process is. But what do I do here?
- 0:59Speaker 4: I I go to the war room, listen for an hour,
- 1:03Speaker 4: get tired of what they're talking about.
- 1:04Speaker 3: They go to meetings.
- 1:06Speaker 4: I walk out, have a little cup of coffee, and
- 1:09Speaker 4: then I go back an hour later. It's the same thing,
- 1:10Speaker 4: and I just end up saying I'm over you, guys.
- 1:12Speaker 4: I got I gotta go take care of stuff. I lie,
- 1:14Speaker 4: I don't tell them what I'm doing. I just have
- 1:16Speaker 4: to take care of stuff. And I just a spirit.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I phase out because you're not making the call. I mean,
- 1:20Speaker 2: obviously you're a big part of the organization. How much
- 1:24Speaker 2: do they come to you? And I'm guessing it's not
- 1:26Speaker 2: here because you just talk to them all the time. Yeah,
- 1:29Speaker 2: what do you think we should do?
- 1:32Speaker 3: Enough.
- 1:32Speaker 4: I don't make the final decision, but I have a
- 1:35Speaker 4: really big seat at the table and it's part of
- 1:36Speaker 4: it's a discussion week. We talk about different things and
- 1:39Speaker 4: go over what the team looks like, what my gut
- 1:41Speaker 4: feel is. And over the years, I think the strength
- 1:44Speaker 4: of what we do is I accept their thirty thousand
- 1:47Speaker 4: foot view and I give them the guts of what's
- 1:50Speaker 4: going on, Like this is what's happening in the clubhouse.
- 1:53Speaker 4: This is real stuff. The guy has a heart and
- 1:54Speaker 4: a brain. It's not a piece of paper. So let's
- 1:57Speaker 4: combine the thought of what we both are talking about
- 2:01Speaker 4: and make the best decision.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Move forward. How do you get how do you get
- 2:04Speaker 5: your emotions out of the decisions? Because a lot of
- 2:07Speaker 5: those guys in the war room that you're talking about,
- 2:09Speaker 5: they really don't have emotions in it. They have the
- 2:12Speaker 5: paper pen like yep, okay, this guy did this, this, that.
- 2:16Speaker 5: But you say, man, I see how much Gabby Moreno's work.
- 2:20Speaker 5: And I know we were playing McCann a little bit
- 2:23Speaker 5: late more down the stretch, we're trying to make a push.
- 2:26Speaker 5: How do you take your emotions out of it? Because
- 2:28Speaker 5: teams are not built on emotions in the off season.
- 2:31Speaker 5: They're built on numbers, they're built on the war they're
- 2:35Speaker 5: built on their outs above average. So how do you
- 2:39Speaker 5: go in there and take your emotions out? Or is
- 2:41Speaker 5: that when you leave the room when they stop listening
- 2:44Speaker 5: to your emotions.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a good question because I know that you
- 2:48Speaker 4: add human emotion into something. Sometimes you make you make
- 2:51Speaker 4: a bad decision, and I got to make sure that
- 2:54Speaker 4: when I'm way way different things, that I have conversations
- 2:57Speaker 4: with different people to make that best decision move forward.
- 3:00Speaker 4: So I am a big heartbeat guy. I'm a big
- 3:03Speaker 4: like where is his where's his mind?
- 3:06Speaker 3: Uh?
- 3:06Speaker 4: You know, the decisions you make will will show what
- 3:09Speaker 4: your priorities are. And I want players that are making
- 3:11Speaker 4: good decisions, with their work habits, with their prep, and
- 3:15Speaker 4: then ultimately going out there and having results. And that's
- 3:18Speaker 4: waited for sure, and I think that's a that's a
- 3:20Speaker 4: bigger part of the game than anything. So the analytics
- 3:24Speaker 4: and the data will show a certain thing, but the
- 3:26Speaker 4: heartbeat of a baseball player is really important. And I
- 3:28Speaker 4: think over the years, I was just saying, Mike Hays
- 3:30Speaker 4: and has now become began to understand that. You know,
- 3:34Speaker 4: it's been ten years we've been together, and he'll give
- 3:37Speaker 4: me that that really good point of view. But I'll say,
- 3:40Speaker 4: hang on, Remember we got a player that's that's really
- 3:43Speaker 4: ready and really hungry, and I want hungry players to
- 3:46Speaker 4: care and that that would trump a lot of things
- 3:48Speaker 4: in my opinion, and they respect my opinion.
- 3:51Speaker 6: Okay, So when you say, you know, Mike Hays and
- 3:53Speaker 6: you and sit down, do you guys cover your eyes
- 3:56Speaker 6: when you see the Dodgers make another move in your division,
- 4:00Speaker 6: get edwin, d back up what they already had, the
- 4:03Speaker 6: two time defending world champions, and here they are, Oh,
- 4:06Speaker 6: we'll just go on and sign a top three closer
- 4:08Speaker 6: in baseball and add him to the list of everyone
- 4:10Speaker 6: we have.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Yeah, so it started what with Freddy. The next year
- 4:13Speaker 3: it was Mookie.
- 4:14Speaker 4: They keep get wrapping all these really good presents to
- 4:16Speaker 4: the n West and.
- 4:18Speaker 3: It just doesn't let up.
- 4:19Speaker 4: And then it was Yamamoto and Shohey and then Sasaki
- 4:25Speaker 4: last year. So Tanner Scott, you forgot Rander Scott right,
- 4:28Speaker 4: one of the best relievers in twenty four. I know
- 4:31Speaker 4: we got banged up. He probably didn't have a healthy year.
- 4:33Speaker 4: So yeah, Glass now it just it's it's endless. And
- 4:38Speaker 4: in my opinion, it's fine. They play within the rules.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Everybody knows what they can and can't do.
- 4:42Speaker 4: I think Andrew's doing a great job of getting the
- 4:47Speaker 4: right players in their docs, doing a great job leading them.
- 4:49Speaker 3: And it's real. So we know that and we're like,
- 4:52Speaker 3: either we can complain about.
- 4:53Speaker 6: It, but that's gonna be my question. How do you
- 4:55Speaker 6: go to your team and say, don't pay attention, guys,
- 4:58Speaker 6: we think we can compete. Because every narrative you read,
- 5:01Speaker 6: every narrative you hear, every player is on social media.
- 5:04Speaker 6: They see things their their mom their dad is like,
- 5:06Speaker 6: oh the Dodgers, where you're gonna beat them? Yeah, So
- 5:09Speaker 6: how do you how do you combat that as a
- 5:11Speaker 6: manager in an organization say no, guys, we can't be
- 5:14Speaker 6: with the Seas.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it's my own family too. I'm born and raised
- 5:17Speaker 4: in La So every time someone now's my own family.
- 5:19Speaker 3: That's all over me.
- 5:20Speaker 4: What we talk about AJ is when they come into
- 5:22Speaker 4: the system, I don't want anybody and I go talk
- 5:24Speaker 4: to player development. I don't want anybody to train themselves
- 5:27Speaker 4: to feel sorry for ourselves to say the Dodgers you
- 5:30Speaker 4: do an X and the Podress are real. Why, Like,
- 5:33Speaker 4: we know what they're doing, we know what they're about,
- 5:35Speaker 4: and it's it's proven to be a success, but we
- 5:38Speaker 4: do different.
- 5:39Speaker 3: We do it from within.
- 5:40Speaker 4: The backbone of our system is our player development, and
- 5:43Speaker 4: it puts more on them to develop and know that
- 5:45Speaker 4: they're gonna get a chance. So there's a media buying
- 5:47Speaker 4: when they come in. And our guys never complain about
- 5:50Speaker 4: what the Dodgers do. Ever, I never hear one thing
- 5:52Speaker 4: about it because we talk about it from a very
- 5:54Speaker 4: young age, when they're eighteen or twenty one, this is
- 5:57Speaker 4: what you do to get to the big leagues, and
- 5:58Speaker 4: we going to Dodger Stadium playing tough. Our guys really
- 6:01Speaker 4: step up with the challenge. They embrace it, they love
- 6:03Speaker 4: going in there and compete against.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Him, and it shows up.
- 6:06Speaker 4: You know, we've had some really good years against the Dodgers,
- 6:09Speaker 4: and our payrolls in a hundred you know, one hundred
- 6:11Speaker 4: and thirty, one hundred and forty million dollars doesn't matter
- 6:14Speaker 4: to us.
- 6:14Speaker 3: We just want to go out to Pete Tory.
- 6:17Speaker 5: I got to ask you about Gabriel Moreno. Gabriel Moreno.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Towards the end of the year, there was some talk
- 6:21Speaker 5: about maybe the game calling and James McCann kind of
- 6:26Speaker 5: took some of the some of the bulk of the
- 6:28Speaker 5: playing time after he was brought over. Now James is
- 6:31Speaker 5: re signed, one of the best dudes in baseball. How
- 6:35Speaker 5: does that? How is that conversation? And what is that
- 6:38Speaker 5: looking like for Gabby going into this season? Is he
- 6:42Speaker 5: the starter? Is it a spot that he has to earn?
- 6:45Speaker 5: Does he have to learn and mature in different in
- 6:47Speaker 5: different ways because on paper he had a decent season.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, I'm talking to a couple of catchers here, right.
- 6:55Speaker 4: So the game calling portion of it is really really
- 6:57Speaker 4: important in developing relationships with your pitch and getting them
- 7:01Speaker 4: strikes is really really important. So Gabby's evolving, He's gonna
- 7:06Speaker 4: He's gonna get the majority of the time, for sure.
- 7:08Speaker 4: James McCann coming on board whenever we sign him. I
- 7:11Speaker 4: can't remember the exact date change the DNA of our team,
- 7:14Speaker 4: and I think a lot of the success that we
- 7:17Speaker 4: had was directly related to what James mccannon came in
- 7:20Speaker 4: and did for us.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Gabby was still hurt.
- 7:22Speaker 4: I will say this, We're a different team when when
- 7:25Speaker 4: Gabby's on the field, I feel it. There's it's an
- 7:27Speaker 4: impact bat. The catch and release is as good as anybody.
- 7:31Speaker 4: The one part of his game and and I agree
- 7:33Speaker 4: with you, is knowing that the hitters well enough to
- 7:36Speaker 4: call a game and make adjustments. James McCann told me
- 7:39Speaker 4: this because I asked questions of these catchers, like when
- 7:42Speaker 4: did when did you figure it out?
- 7:43Speaker 3: When he got I forget who he came up with.
- 7:45Speaker 3: I think it was the Tigers, right.
- 7:46Speaker 4: I think Alex Avila said to him, hang on for
- 7:50Speaker 4: the next five years.
- 7:51Speaker 3: It's gonna take five years.
- 7:52Speaker 4: For you to be who you're supposed to be, to
- 7:53Speaker 4: get to know your pitcher, get to know all the
- 7:55Speaker 4: hitters in this league, what those adjustments are. And I
- 7:57Speaker 4: had some unbelievable conversations with the can where like I
- 8:02Speaker 4: couldn't believe the things that he was thinking about, sorry,
- 8:05Speaker 4: things that he was thinking about during the course of
- 8:08Speaker 4: an at bat, Like I based this guy once before
- 8:10Speaker 4: last year. We got him here, I got him there,
- 8:12Speaker 4: and I'm like, oh my god, like you are really
- 8:15Speaker 4: really good.
- 8:16Speaker 3: That takes time. So what happens?
- 8:18Speaker 4: I think Gabby's got to figure this out. He's got
- 8:19Speaker 4: to get some time, he's got to pay attention to
- 8:21Speaker 4: the right things, and he's going to be just fine.
- 8:23Speaker 7: Okay, you brought it.
- 8:24Speaker 6: You brought him a can back, which I huge, which
- 8:27Speaker 6: I was shocked he wasn't signed.
- 8:28Speaker 7: I mean, you guys brought him in late.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Yeah he was. I don't believe it either.
- 8:31Speaker 6: It was weird because I have I had people call
- 8:34Speaker 6: me asking if I knew him, and I knew him
- 8:36Speaker 6: from when he was the White tux.
- 8:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:37Speaker 6: I was like, everything I've heard from about this guy
- 8:39Speaker 6: is amazing. So to hear that confirmed is great. And
- 8:42Speaker 6: then can you bring in Mike Soroka?
- 8:44Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 8:45Speaker 7: As is he going to be a starter?
- 8:46Speaker 3: Is he going to be a swingy?
- 8:48Speaker 7: Guys?
- 8:49Speaker 4: Okay, I can't officially comment on Mike Soroka I will
- 8:52Speaker 4: say that we have been in touch with Mike Soroka.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Because I know how to get around there.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Just you've faced him, tell me about what you've seen. Yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 2: I know, I know you're allowed that you are definitely allowed,
- 9:05Speaker 2: just like I would ask you about Dommoto.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, what do you from this guy?
- 9:10Speaker 3: That's good?
- 9:10Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I thought and you guys taught him. Well, I think
- 9:13Speaker 3: it's a good combination.
- 9:14Speaker 7: I thought it was done, so I apologize.
- 9:16Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, he uh, you know, he's got a real
- 9:21Speaker 4: good breaking ball, four up fastball, and he's made adjustments
- 9:25Speaker 4: off of that. There's cut you know, there's a slider
- 9:29Speaker 4: that's in play now. So he's a four pitch mixed guy.
- 9:32Speaker 4: The loves to compete, and you know, there has been
- 9:35Speaker 4: contact with him, for sure. I had a chance to
- 9:37Speaker 4: talk to him. Seems like he's very highly intelligent. He
- 9:40Speaker 4: knows how to pitch. And you can just tell when
- 9:43Speaker 4: you're sitting down with people, and not not just Soroka,
- 9:46Speaker 4: but anybody that I've talked to on zoom or face
- 9:49Speaker 4: to face this offseason, you can you can tell when
- 9:51Speaker 4: they're starting to connect the dots. It's not it's not
- 9:54Speaker 4: just I'm gonna be good. I'm lifting, I feel great,
- 9:56Speaker 4: and I'm gonna be faster than be Like they give
- 9:58Speaker 4: you a reason why when they and how and why,
- 10:01Speaker 4: and they just answer the questions. You can tell when
- 10:03Speaker 4: you're talking to somebody that's gonna have a good year,
- 10:05Speaker 4: and I think, I think this might be the case.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I have one quick here, follow up on him because
- 10:10Speaker 2: he's been through a lot, right, he had the crazy
- 10:12Speaker 2: injuries early on, he was kind of a buting star quickly. Yeah,
- 10:16Speaker 2: I don't think he has as much heat on the
- 10:18Speaker 2: on the fastball these days, but the secondary pitches, at
- 10:21Speaker 2: least from this past season when he was on the mound,
- 10:23Speaker 2: looked like they've improved a ton. And like we're talking
- 10:25Speaker 2: about like he figures out the whole mix and had
- 10:28Speaker 2: to pitch over or had a throat.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Yeah, he gave himself the right to learn new pitches.
- 10:32Speaker 4: It used to be for a curveball. Off of that,
- 10:36Speaker 4: it's ever you know, the sink was in play too.
- 10:38Speaker 4: But he started to understand who he was, what was
- 10:43Speaker 4: going to make him successful. So he took a step
- 10:44Speaker 4: back and said, hey, I've got to do this to
- 10:46Speaker 4: be better than I am.
- 10:48Speaker 3: And that's where I give players a lot.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Of credit because I know when I was a player,
- 10:51Speaker 4: I was scared to death to make an adjustment, like
- 10:53Speaker 4: I knew what I knew, and that's all I was
- 10:55Speaker 4: going to go down with.
- 10:57Speaker 3: The best players are able to make adjustments, and sounds
- 10:59Speaker 3: like he's ready to do that.
- 11:01Speaker 5: You have a conversation with Kotel Marte since the season ended,
- 11:04Speaker 5: or right at the end of the season, because we
- 11:06Speaker 5: heard a lot of reports about controversy. It didn't show up,
- 11:09Speaker 5: went to the dominic or went home? And when is
- 11:12Speaker 5: the house robbery? All that stuff, things that we're just
- 11:15Speaker 5: getting secondhand. Do you have conversations or have you had
- 11:18Speaker 5: conversations with him, especially when you start seeing a guy
- 11:22Speaker 5: who's ten and five rights are coming up could be
- 11:25Speaker 5: on the market.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I have. I've had many conversations with him and
- 11:31Speaker 4: a fair ask. Yes, there were some things that happened
- 11:35Speaker 4: throughout the course of the year that were crystal clear,
- 11:38Speaker 4: and I think all I could do at that point
- 11:42Speaker 4: is creating awareness to have a conversation and talk about
- 11:45Speaker 4: what it looks like to move this ball forward so
- 11:47Speaker 4: he could be a better version of himself.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Yeah, he had some emotional things that he was dealing with.
- 11:52Speaker 4: You know, there's a fan in Chicago shouting some things
- 11:54Speaker 4: to shouting some things out him that really hit him
- 11:56Speaker 4: deep and hard. That's a real human emotion. His house
- 11:59Speaker 4: getsken into when he's at the All Star Game and
- 12:01Speaker 4: had I don't know, half a million, maybe a million
- 12:04Speaker 4: dollars worth of stuff stolen.
- 12:05Speaker 3: And those are big pills for human being to swallow.
- 12:10Speaker 4: And he's not exempt from the feelings that we have
- 12:12Speaker 4: sitting down talking.
- 12:13Speaker 3: He's he's very emotional and I'm fine with that.
- 12:16Speaker 4: So, yeah, we probably did need to have a different
- 12:20Speaker 4: type of conversation, and he got very private and withdrawn
- 12:24Speaker 4: through that time, and I understand that. I just, you know,
- 12:27Speaker 4: wish communication had been a little bit a little bit better,
- 12:29Speaker 4: But we learned from it and I don't think anything
- 12:31Speaker 4: like that will ever happen again.
- 12:33Speaker 6: How do you replace Gallon and Kelly and what are
- 12:35Speaker 6: teams getting if, yeah, when they signed these guys, because
- 12:39Speaker 6: you have you have Rodriguez, you have fought, you have
- 12:42Speaker 6: Ryan Nelson.
- 12:43Speaker 7: Now you might have another picture. We can't talk about him.
- 12:46Speaker 6: But how do you first of all, how do you
- 12:49Speaker 6: replace those guys and the teams that if it's not
- 12:51Speaker 6: the Diamondbacks signing those guys.
- 12:53Speaker 3: What are they getting in these two guys.
- 12:55Speaker 7: Allen had a weird year for me.
- 12:56Speaker 3: You bring them back, That's what I say.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Im back, Yeah, I'm all for Yeah, yeah yeah.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Gallon had a really really weird year.
- 13:03Speaker 4: I think at the trade deadline, I remember he came
- 13:06Speaker 4: in and I have great conversation with him.
- 13:08Speaker 7: Usually he's a great to talk to because he's like
- 13:11Speaker 7: very in depth.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Oh man, It's like, yeah, you're I'm not as smart
- 13:15Speaker 4: as is that. And when it gets really intimidating when
- 13:18Speaker 4: he comes in he starts asking his quends, I'm like,
- 13:19Speaker 4: oh my god. But he came in post post All Star,
- 13:24Speaker 4: post trade deadline, and I think he was he was flushed,
- 13:29Speaker 4: like he's like, I didn't get traded. I'm the last
- 13:31Speaker 4: one here and what happened. It kind of took on
- 13:34Speaker 4: that tone and I just listened to him.
- 13:35Speaker 3: I think he was frustrated. It was a little bit
- 13:37Speaker 3: of humble pie.
- 13:38Speaker 4: But from that day forward, I just said, look, you
- 13:40Speaker 4: have a new season, man, Let's go from August one
- 13:42Speaker 4: forward to.
- 13:42Speaker 3: See how dominant you can be. And he turned it around.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Prior to that, there was a lot of tinkering, a
- 13:47Speaker 4: lot of a lot of curiosity about his stuff.
- 13:50Speaker 3: He's gonna come out right. He's elite, he's a great
- 13:53Speaker 3: human being, he's a great teammate.
- 13:56Speaker 4: I have nothing but great things to say about Zach Gallen,
- 13:58Speaker 4: and same with Meryll, Like these.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Guys know how to pitch man.
- 14:02Speaker 4: And what's hard for us in Arizona is we have
- 14:06Speaker 4: to say goodbye to that type of player.
- 14:08Speaker 3: You know, it's just worth It's a sign of the times.
- 14:10Speaker 5: It's what we are. We know it.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Get back to the old Dodger, you know, not complaining
- 14:14Speaker 4: about them signing free agents, Like we just know that
- 14:18Speaker 4: players are gonna grow up and move on, So we're
- 14:20Speaker 4: accepting of it as a possibility.
- 14:23Speaker 3: And I wish him nothing but the.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Best wherever they both land, I wish him nothing but
- 14:26Speaker 4: the best or great pitchers are great.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Why didn't he get traded? Why didn't he get traded?
- 14:30Speaker 8: Why didn't he?
- 14:30Speaker 3: Did you trade it, Kelly? Yeah?
- 14:32Speaker 6: I mean, heck you traded Jordan Montgomery trade.
- 14:37Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 14:38Speaker 4: I think because of the time year he was having,
- 14:40Speaker 4: I think the ask was a little low. I'm assuming
- 14:44Speaker 4: that I don't I Mike didn't really make me aware
- 14:46Speaker 4: of it. It was probably, you know, we just don't
- 14:48Speaker 4: want to give him away. I think that he was
- 14:50Speaker 4: very average the first four months of the season, but
- 14:54Speaker 4: I think he's gonna be just fine.
- 14:55Speaker 3: I think wherever he winds up, I'm still gonna hope,
- 14:58Speaker 3: be hopeful that it's with us. Wherever he ends up
- 15:00Speaker 3: gonna be fun.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I've got one more for you yet. So there are
- 15:03Speaker 2: a ton of new managers entering the game this season.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Your thoughts on the mix of hires that we saw,
- 15:11Speaker 2: and then specifically, are you gonna get in any fun
- 15:14Speaker 2: barking matches with Tony Vaytello. I'm sure you've seen some
- 15:17Speaker 2: highlights from the college days.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. A couple of Talian guys. Let's
- 15:22Speaker 3: go out it right, That's how I feel about it.
- 15:25Speaker 4: I'm I'm really excited for him. You don't really see
- 15:27Speaker 4: this crossover right very often. I'm sure it's happened in
- 15:29Speaker 4: the history of the game. I don't know where it went,
- 15:32Speaker 4: but a very successful college coach high baseball.
- 15:35Speaker 3: IQ looks like he's a connector of people. He's one
- 15:37Speaker 3: of the boys.
- 15:38Speaker 4: He's in the trenches with the guys, and I think
- 15:40Speaker 4: that's what the players want. The players want to know
- 15:42Speaker 4: if the manager's in or out. If you're in the players,
- 15:45Speaker 4: the players are gonna play for you. If you're out
- 15:47Speaker 4: and put yourself on a different level, we're gon be
- 15:49Speaker 4: like little lukewarm on you.
- 15:51Speaker 3: You know.
- 15:51Speaker 4: I seen footage of him running the stands of like whatever,
- 15:55Speaker 4: crowdsurfing with fans like players love that.
- 15:58Speaker 3: So I think he's gonna be just fine.
- 15:59Speaker 7: I want to see do that.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I promise you I will. Something big will happen this year.
- 16:03Speaker 3: IM gonna be crowdsurfing, Yeah, surfing.
- 16:06Speaker 7: I can't wait for that.
- 16:07Speaker 3: I think Buster vetted that Busters and Buster is a
- 16:10Speaker 3: brilliant GM.
- 16:11Speaker 4: He's got great players and.
- 16:15Speaker 3: They they vetted that it's gonna be great.
- 16:17Speaker 4: And the young blood that's coming in, you know, I
- 16:20Speaker 4: know Washington, the Nats hired a very young very.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Yeah that's awesome. We have your tear on before you,
- 16:27Speaker 3: did you? He like he's thirty three. He could be
- 16:30Speaker 3: Mike Club.
- 16:31Speaker 8: He could be our kid.
- 16:32Speaker 7: You might be your grand kid, but he could definitely
- 16:34Speaker 7: be my kid.
- 16:35Speaker 5: I'm looking at him.
- 16:37Speaker 6: I don't feel that I'm not that much older, but man,
- 16:39Speaker 6: I'm looking at you.
- 16:40Speaker 7: I feel like I much.
- 16:42Speaker 5: Yes, I don't. You know.
- 16:45Speaker 4: When I was thirty five and just retired, I'm like,
- 16:47Speaker 4: why can't I do this? Like I felt like I could,
- 16:49Speaker 4: like put me in there. I feel like I could manage.
- 16:51Speaker 4: There's a lot of things that that take place, and
- 16:53Speaker 4: he's had that experiences as a young minor league manager.
- 16:57Speaker 4: He's gonna be just fine. And uh, like I said,
- 17:00Speaker 4: you just gotta get the players to play for you.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Whatever whatever that means is different. Inside of every clubhouts.
- 17:05Speaker 4: You got to find out how they go out there
- 17:08Speaker 4: and give you their absolute best.
- 17:09Speaker 3: And I'm sure he's got that that down. The x's
- 17:11Speaker 3: and o's.
- 17:11Speaker 4: We all we're all baseball minds, like, okay, of course, yeah,
- 17:14Speaker 4: I might pinch hit this guy over this guy. I
- 17:16Speaker 4: might make a pitching move at this time a little
- 17:18Speaker 4: bit different, but it's all it's all pretty similar.
- 17:21Speaker 3: It's how you relate to players and connect and create
- 17:23Speaker 3: a culture. That's the most important thing.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Tory, good to see you, Thanks for the guys. What
- 17:28Speaker 2: craft you got one? Go ahead?
- 17:30Speaker 5: I asked Blake. I asked Blake when the first time
- 17:32Speaker 5: he was gonna Blake but Terra, when the first time
- 17:34Speaker 5: he was gonna get thrown out with all the new
- 17:37Speaker 5: challenges and everything is tory develop going to go the
- 17:40Speaker 5: whole season with no ejections.
- 17:42Speaker 4: I don't know, look that remember the good old Matt
- 17:45Speaker 4: arguments you used to get with the first base up.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Say if you missed it, no he's out, like whatever.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Like that doesn't happen anymore, right, I don't know.
- 17:55Speaker 8: I probably I'm.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Good for two or three of a year. You can't
- 17:59Speaker 3: argue anything.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Something will happen.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Yeah, something will happen. It always happens. And whenever, whenever
- 18:04Speaker 4: I decided to go, I go to.
- 18:05Speaker 7: Make sure Yatti's not around, because Yachty was.
- 18:09Speaker 3: I made a big mistake. Yai is the best. I
- 18:11Speaker 3: just said something I probably should, right, and Yati's so good.
- 18:15Speaker 3: He was getting balls as far off the.
- 18:17Speaker 4: Plate, and I'm like, come on, you can't make ball strikes,
- 18:20Speaker 4: like just be fair to us.
- 18:21Speaker 3: And I said a few other things, and Yadi was like, I'm.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Sorry, yai ya, he's one of the best. But anyways,
- 18:26Speaker 4: they take a lot of it away from you. I
- 18:28Speaker 4: think when the when the start to mistreat the players,
- 18:31Speaker 4: and I got a pick player.
- 18:32Speaker 3: That's where I got the line. I'll get thrown out
- 18:33Speaker 3: of the game every time.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Then yep, I disagree with where you play, you'll get bounced.
- 18:38Speaker 3: What's up?
- 18:39Speaker 1: He hau.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Yeah, did you ever watch yell it is? I don't
- 18:43Speaker 3: think were you on? He ha?
- 18:44Speaker 7: I was as what.
- 18:47Speaker 3: They had a school scene. Do you remember Minie Pearls.
- 18:49Speaker 3: She had the price tag from her straw hack.
- 18:53Speaker 4: She was a teacher and she had a school scene
- 18:54Speaker 4: with ten to fourteen year olds and I.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Was one of the one of the suits.
- 18:59Speaker 8: Did you have a line?
- 19:00Speaker 3: I did have a line. What was your Oh my god,
- 19:04Speaker 3: let's see. She said, Tory, how's your baseball team? Come along?
- 19:07Speaker 3: And my line was.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Good, teacher, nobody has beat us tight us or scored
- 19:10Speaker 4: against us. And she said wonderful. And I said, well,
- 19:13Speaker 4: we play our first game next Saturday, so it's plastic.
- 19:19Speaker 3: It's smart though.
- 19:19Speaker 4: Yeah, right, everyone's undefeated on opening day. Yeah, yeah, there
- 19:23Speaker 4: you go. Yeah, my dad PRODUCEE Off for twenty five years.
- 19:25Speaker 4: You say that to the wrong person, they fall over
- 19:27Speaker 4: their chair laughing. They're like, oh my god, here you
- 19:30Speaker 4: said to somebody who's born in the South. They're like, dude,
- 19:32Speaker 4: I still watch that show.
- 19:34Speaker 1: It's serious.
- 19:35Speaker 3: It's still late at night and I'm zoning in.
- 19:37Speaker 4: My parents, my grandparents, my great grandparents, we watched it
- 19:40Speaker 4: every Sunday night.
- 19:41Speaker 3: So just spend some where you're from.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's really cool. That's what people are asking about.
- 19:44Speaker 2: But Tory, great to see you. Thank you by extended time.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I appreciate it. Uh ft Fami will be right back. Hey,
- 19:50Speaker 2: we're back lab in Orlando with New Giants manager Tony
- 19:53Speaker 2: by Tello. It's a pleasure to be able to introduce
- 19:56Speaker 2: you that way.
- 19:57Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 19:57Speaker 5: How you doing.
- 19:58Speaker 9: It's still awkward to hear it that way, but as
- 20:01Speaker 9: the days go by, getting a little more comfortable with everything,
- 20:04Speaker 9: and this is certainly a part of the experience.
- 20:06Speaker 8: Didn't know what to expect, but uh, this is eventful.
- 20:09Speaker 7: Yeah, welcome to winter meetings, Welcome to the big leagues.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Like I told you, thank you.
- 20:13Speaker 6: I appreciate this is a different animal than SEC media
- 20:16Speaker 6: days and that whole thing. But when Buster Posey called you,
- 20:20Speaker 6: were you like, wait, do you have the wrong number?
- 20:24Speaker 9: Well, originally our conversation stemmed around our players. We had
- 20:27Speaker 9: a tennessee, whether it was through the draft or trade stuff, so.
- 20:32Speaker 8: It was it was already interesting.
- 20:34Speaker 9: I guess is the best way to say talking to
- 20:35Speaker 9: a guy that's in his category, you know. But then
- 20:40Speaker 9: from then when the first text came across about hey
- 20:43Speaker 9: give me a call, I kind of had an inkling
- 20:46Speaker 9: what it was about.
- 20:47Speaker 8: And there was a lot of different emotions.
- 20:50Speaker 5: How much did you drop little hints different times that
- 20:53Speaker 5: you had talked like it wasn't I mean, it can't be.
- 20:56Speaker 5: It can't be completely out of the blue, like man,
- 21:00Speaker 5: I'm gonna go and call Tony. Yeah.
- 21:03Speaker 9: No, I think originally it was, but there there maybe
- 21:07Speaker 9: was one closer to that time where we, you know,
- 21:10Speaker 9: we were sharing ideas about how we see baseball, but
- 21:14Speaker 9: more importantly, how you would like your team to be
- 21:16Speaker 9: portrayed on the field. And I think, you know, it
- 21:20Speaker 9: all seems seamless to me because you acquired Drew Gilbert
- 21:24Speaker 9: because you like his intensity. The questions asked me about
- 21:27Speaker 9: Gavin Keelan were more about, you know, is this guy
- 21:31Speaker 9: as competitive as you know the other guys.
- 21:34Speaker 8: You've had in your program, or what you want?
- 21:36Speaker 4: Uh?
- 21:36Speaker 9: And then kind of started to pick up on some
- 21:38Speaker 9: hints that were being dropped there as as calls got
- 21:41Speaker 9: closer to that whole deal what you've.
- 21:44Speaker 7: Only been doing this for a month.
- 21:46Speaker 9: Now, Yeah, I mean it was October twenty second was
- 21:50Speaker 9: the day where.
- 21:52Speaker 6: Yeah, what's been the biggest thing besides this? The media
- 21:56Speaker 6: hasn't been. Have you been overwhelmed by anything? Players, meetings,
- 22:01Speaker 6: phone calls, anything that's just been.
- 22:02Speaker 8: Like, I think the biggest thing.
- 22:04Speaker 9: When I left Tennessee or was about to, I thought
- 22:07Speaker 9: everybody would be in a better position. I mean, I
- 22:10Speaker 9: like that I get some credit for it, but it
- 22:13Speaker 9: was a coaching staff there that was pretty special that
- 22:15Speaker 9: helped players get better, and the elements are at Tennessee
- 22:19Speaker 9: to win regardless.
- 22:20Speaker 8: Of who the head coaches.
- 22:21Speaker 9: To be honest with you, but the guy I thought
- 22:23Speaker 9: was most suited for it was the guy they gave.
- 22:26Speaker 8: It to, Josh Islander.
- 22:27Speaker 9: And so I thought everybody was gonna wave by and
- 22:29Speaker 9: say good luck and things would be great. And it
- 22:32Speaker 9: got a little tumultuous there for a little bit, so
- 22:35Speaker 9: just getting through the old job stuff and onto the
- 22:38Speaker 9: new job stuff.
- 22:40Speaker 8: It was heavy.
- 22:41Speaker 9: But since then it's more exciting than anything. I mean,
- 22:44Speaker 9: right now, everyone walking around this hotel is oh and O.
- 22:47Speaker 9: So there's nothing to be too depressed about.
- 22:50Speaker 2: I've got one for you from a historical perspective, this
- 22:53Speaker 2: is essentially a first right for you to jump over
- 22:56Speaker 2: to take over a major league team like this coming
- 22:59Speaker 2: from the college ranks. Your job is to win games
- 23:02Speaker 2: for the San Francisco Giants. But do you feel any
- 23:05Speaker 2: type of onus to perform for the next Tony Vaytello
- 23:10Speaker 2: to be able to make a jump like this and say, hey,
- 23:12Speaker 2: there are some super talented managers that should be managing
- 23:16Speaker 2: at the major league level and.
- 23:17Speaker 1: We should take more bits and pieces from that.
- 23:20Speaker 9: I think a bigger just trading back and forth in general,
- 23:23Speaker 9: whether it's ideas or personnel or people or you know,
- 23:27Speaker 9: technology now like it or not. I think the more
- 23:31Speaker 9: seamless it is, the better and the more likely it
- 23:33Speaker 9: is to.
- 23:34Speaker 8: Occur more often. There's already been some.
- 23:36Speaker 9: Coaches obviously, whether it's strength coaches or pitching coaches that
- 23:39Speaker 9: have you know, made the jump, if that's what you
- 23:41Speaker 9: want to call it. But at the end of the day,
- 23:43Speaker 9: it's all baseball. It's all competing. I know the big
- 23:46Speaker 9: leagues is way different. I'll have to hit you up sometime.
- 23:49Speaker 9: You made a mistake of giving me your number. No,
- 23:52Speaker 9: I'm happy to do it.
- 23:53Speaker 7: I'm not going to tell you where I got your
- 23:54Speaker 7: number from.
- 23:55Speaker 9: But I know how competitive you are and the game
- 23:57Speaker 9: you played is baseball, So yeah, as you get to
- 24:01Speaker 9: a higher level, some of the things should increase, like
- 24:03Speaker 9: talent that's on the field. But for the most part,
- 24:05Speaker 9: I think the more seamless it is, the better off
- 24:08Speaker 9: everybody is.
- 24:10Speaker 5: Did your players in college call you coach?
- 24:14Speaker 8: Can you say that again?
- 24:15Speaker 5: Sorry? Did your players in college call you coach? Yeah?
- 24:20Speaker 9: V was often, but yeah, coach. We were playing Auburn
- 24:25Speaker 9: Sonny Desera was SEC player of the year and you know,
- 24:30Speaker 9: was competitive on the field back and forth, and their
- 24:32Speaker 9: guys started yelling at me and saying Tony, and I
- 24:35Speaker 9: took offense to it. I grew up in a household
- 24:37Speaker 9: where my dad, you know, was a disciplinarian, and I
- 24:41Speaker 9: thought Bob Knight when he got fired it was for
- 24:43Speaker 9: the wrong reason. Some kids said hey night to him
- 24:46Speaker 9: and he grabbed them on campus and that was the
- 24:48Speaker 9: last straw. So I think I know what you're getting at.
- 24:50Speaker 9: But that game in twenty twenty two is where I
- 24:53Speaker 9: came to grips with the fans and the other teams
- 24:56Speaker 9: players call me Tony, So I'm good with whatever you
- 24:59Speaker 9: want to call me as long a is. You know,
- 25:00Speaker 9: it's relatively respectful and it's going to help us win games.
- 25:04Speaker 5: Okay, well you kind of you kind of alluded to
- 25:07Speaker 5: it because they're not going to call you coach anymore.
- 25:08Speaker 5: And the sures heck, never met anybody they call manager.
- 25:12Speaker 5: So it might be skip or something like that. But
- 25:14Speaker 5: what I was going to get to was, is there
- 25:18Speaker 5: anything that Buster Posey has said, Look, I saw you
- 25:21Speaker 5: do this in college, you can't do it here? Or
- 25:23Speaker 5: is he letting you be who you are? Like everyone
- 25:27Speaker 5: we just talked about with somebody else, crowdsurfing. I think
- 25:30Speaker 5: we're talking to Tory Levello. Saw you CrowdSurf and he's like, yeah,
- 25:34Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure I'm going to CrowdSurf at some point
- 25:36Speaker 5: this year. So is there anything that Buster said, hey, hey,
- 25:42Speaker 5: pump the brakes on this, or is he said go
- 25:45Speaker 5: for it? I trust you.
- 25:47Speaker 9: No, And I think if that came up, it'd be
- 25:49Speaker 9: worthy of a debate upstairs with all the people that
- 25:51Speaker 9: are meeting of whether that's appropriate or not in that moment.
- 25:55Speaker 9: I guess self defense coming up as or defending myself
- 25:58Speaker 9: is when you are compact, ve you hamstring yourself so
- 26:02Speaker 9: much when it comes to enjoined victories because you're always
- 26:06Speaker 9: onto the next thing and you're guarded and karma and
- 26:08Speaker 9: all that bs. And that was a moment where there
- 26:11Speaker 9: was no more games to play that season, so I
- 26:13Speaker 9: was like, the hell with it, I'm gonna get my
- 26:14Speaker 9: money's worth. Uh So, if that were ever to occur again,
- 26:18Speaker 9: you know, maybe that would happen. But for the most part,
- 26:22Speaker 9: the group has been it's been a collaborative vibe and
- 26:25Speaker 9: it's definitely a been.
- 26:26Speaker 8: A be who you are type of deal.
- 26:29Speaker 9: So I think that theme will stay consistent as long
- 26:31Speaker 9: as nothing gets too crazy.
- 26:33Speaker 8: What yours a twenty four that you guys won the world? Yeah,
- 26:38Speaker 8: I'm a Gator fan. They've had their share of success.
- 26:43Speaker 6: You've kind of ruined it for them, but that might
- 26:45Speaker 6: That leads me to my next question. Like I've watched
- 26:47Speaker 6: I watched a lot of SEC baseball. Obviously, being a
- 26:48Speaker 6: Florida fan, you've been known to go out in the
- 26:50Speaker 6: other teams a little bit, you know, whether good bad,
- 26:53Speaker 6: however you want to. You can't do that as much now,
- 26:57Speaker 6: are you gonna be able to reel it in your
- 26:59Speaker 6: emotion and the fire that you have. You can't be
- 27:02Speaker 6: wearing fur coats and doing the whole daddy has.
- 27:05Speaker 8: I mean, that was not my idea.
- 27:09Speaker 9: No, I agree, And yeah that's another moment post, you know,
- 27:13Speaker 9: championship or whatever. They threw that on me without my doing,
- 27:16Speaker 9: and I'm not too big of a fan of that stuff,
- 27:18Speaker 9: but it's part of the game. And I think I
- 27:20Speaker 9: had to adapt to what the players were starting to do,
- 27:25Speaker 9: and to be honest with you, I don't know that
- 27:27Speaker 9: I could adapt to some of the things that are
- 27:29Speaker 9: starting to go on now at high school level and
- 27:32Speaker 9: at college levels.
- 27:33Speaker 8: To an extreme.
- 27:33Speaker 9: So I've kind of got my own set of of values.
- 27:37Speaker 9: But I'm going to lean on people that have been
- 27:38Speaker 9: in the big leagues and ask him what's a little
- 27:40Speaker 9: corny and more suited for college and what's more appropriate
- 27:44Speaker 9: for the And I think at the very least the
- 27:47Speaker 9: respect level I have for the best players on the planet,
- 27:49Speaker 9: because as a recruiting coordinator, you're always in awe or
- 27:53Speaker 9: appreciation of a guy who's good, Well, these are the
- 27:55Speaker 9: best players, and then just walking around here, I don't
- 27:58Speaker 9: even I don't know. Maybe I got to make an
- 28:01Speaker 9: adjustment shaking hands with guys like Pat Murphy is awkward
- 28:04Speaker 9: to me at this point.
- 28:04Speaker 1: All right, I've got one for you on players.
- 28:08Speaker 2: So from what you can share, what's the most interesting
- 28:11Speaker 2: thing a player has said to you so far on
- 28:14Speaker 2: your current team, right, like something on a phone call?
- 28:17Speaker 2: And then the follow up also is how do you
- 28:20Speaker 2: approach talking to Rafael Devers. I've known him for years.
- 28:24Speaker 2: He felt hurt from a situation last years. With a
- 28:26Speaker 2: new spot, this is a chance for someone manager wise
- 28:28Speaker 2: here not from San Francisco but from Boston. But manager
- 28:31Speaker 2: has come in here and be like, yo, you're my guy,
- 28:33Speaker 2: got you for whatever? Eight seven eight years? This is
- 28:35Speaker 2: the plan?
- 28:36Speaker 9: Yeah, no, with a little bit of excitement as far
- 28:38Speaker 9: as talking to Devers and also following Gilbert's lead, he
- 28:42Speaker 9: and Drew became close for whatever reason, so.
- 28:45Speaker 8: I could see guy's a mad man. Yes, yes he is.
- 28:48Speaker 9: But you know, getting to know each of those guys
- 28:50Speaker 9: is exciting for me. I'm pretty fired up about the
- 28:54Speaker 9: diversity that exists in Big League baseball. I've become an
- 28:57Speaker 9: avid traveler. It's my hobby, which is probably foolish because
- 29:01Speaker 9: recruiting and playing baseball you're flying as is. But I'm
- 29:05Speaker 9: excited about that parted about as much as any Uh.
- 29:08Speaker 9: And then talking with the current players as far as giants,
- 29:12Speaker 9: do you want to go get a drink, you know,
- 29:15Speaker 9: you talk about the twenty four championship or other moments.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Uh.
- 29:19Speaker 9: There were a lot of times and a lot of
- 29:21Speaker 9: invitations to have more fun than I actually did have.
- 29:24Speaker 9: But when you're in college, you have a different representation
- 29:27Speaker 9: of the program and who you are. And so yeah,
- 29:30Speaker 9: one of the first guys I ever met was you know,
- 29:32Speaker 9: was over a drink and it was a good conversation.
- 29:34Speaker 9: And getting to know those guys is something I'm again
- 29:37Speaker 9: excited to do.
- 29:39Speaker 5: Our current big league managers too boring.
- 29:43Speaker 8: I don't think if you meet them in person, I mean, yeah,
- 29:48Speaker 8: not again.
- 29:49Speaker 9: A lot of my experiences watching the playoffs, our guys
- 29:53Speaker 9: are we're so wrapped up in what we're doing in
- 29:55Speaker 9: college baseball. You don't get to see Game eighty three
- 29:58Speaker 9: in the middle of the summer what necessarily is going on,
- 30:02Speaker 9: you know. But I think back when I grew up,
- 30:05Speaker 9: the managers were like Bobby cox White he hears all
- 30:08Speaker 9: dating those are guys. You would almost just as likely
- 30:10Speaker 9: have a poster on your wall of those guys as
- 30:13Speaker 9: you would a player. I think there is a little
- 30:16Speaker 9: bit of a little bit of a missing chunk there
- 30:20Speaker 9: between who those guys were maybe in today's game. And
- 30:24Speaker 9: that's just an observation as a fan, you know. And hey,
- 30:26Speaker 9: maybe I was just a lot younger back then and
- 30:28Speaker 9: looked up to those guys even more then I look
- 30:31Speaker 9: up to some guys.
- 30:32Speaker 6: Now, Okay, before we let you go, I have two
- 30:33Speaker 6: quick with things. One Max Suer's or I asked him
- 30:36Speaker 6: about you. He said you're the best. So I'm told
- 30:38Speaker 6: because I love Max, I appreciate that he gives me
- 30:40Speaker 6: a if he gives me a good endorsement, and.
- 30:42Speaker 9: He's pretty critical, he's very he can be very opinionated.
- 30:45Speaker 6: Yes, also, and he gave you a good endorsement, so
- 30:47Speaker 6: I have to respect from max'es.
- 30:49Speaker 7: And then I brought this up earlier.
- 30:50Speaker 3: You walked out with.
- 30:51Speaker 6: Morgan Wall and had to be one of the coolest
- 30:52Speaker 6: things of all time. I signed with Tennessee at a
- 30:55Speaker 6: high school. I never went there. I signed out of
- 30:57Speaker 6: high school and went to the minor leagues. But I'm
- 30:59Speaker 6: not a voluntare your fan. So now you have a
- 31:01Speaker 6: different shade of orange, Will you throw all that ugly
- 31:03Speaker 6: assed creamsicle orange out where you.
- 31:06Speaker 9: Actually keep some Well, that was the first thing my
- 31:08Speaker 9: dad said to me, was how much gear they have.
- 31:10Speaker 8: They're a little upset about it. I've already sized up.
- 31:12Speaker 9: I've got some items where the orange kind of meets
- 31:15Speaker 9: in the middle, and I'm a little i didn't grow
- 31:17Speaker 9: up with a lot of money, so I'm hanging on
- 31:18Speaker 9: to that stuff. And then, yeah, I'm gonna be cheering
- 31:21Speaker 9: for those guys. They had to go get jerolim in
- 31:24Speaker 9: from Florida. I mean, I know, I know Chuck and
- 31:26Speaker 9: I work together at TCU, and I'm happy for him
- 31:28Speaker 9: and his family. I think he'll do great things there.
- 31:31Speaker 9: But just a lot of close ties with Rick Barnes,
- 31:34Speaker 9: a basketball coach. I'm super excited they've got a newer
- 31:36Speaker 9: coach with women's basketball. So I was in love with
- 31:40Speaker 9: the place and still am.
- 31:41Speaker 8: Sorry to relay that.
- 31:43Speaker 7: Sorry, it's a beautiful place.
- 31:46Speaker 8: Yeah, the country music's no matter where you're working.
- 31:49Speaker 5: One last quick one for you. Will you wear your
- 31:52Speaker 5: College World Series ring in the presence of big leaguers.
- 31:58Speaker 8: I've never worn it.
- 31:59Speaker 9: I don't know time will come that I will, but
- 32:01Speaker 9: I've I've I've never worn it, and uh with the
- 32:04Speaker 9: moving boxes, I first got to locate it and then
- 32:07Speaker 9: uh we'll put it somewhere in a condo and uh.
- 32:10Speaker 8: One of those days will come and it's a long
- 32:11Speaker 8: way from now.
- 32:12Speaker 5: That I put it on.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Well, we're looking forward to many more combos about the giants.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Great to see you and you.
- 32:17Speaker 8: Congratulates, appreciate you guys.
