Speaker 1: Welcome to your Thoughts, your Reality with Michael Cole, the podcast that shines a compassionate light on the journey of veterans battling through life's challenges.
• 0:11
Speaker 1: Michael is a dual elite certified neuro encoding specialist in coaching and keynote training presentations dedicated to guiding military veterans as they navigate the intricate pathways of post-deployment life.
• 0:23
Speaker 1: Join him as we delve into the profound realm of neuro encoding science, empowering these Hello, hello, hello everybody.
• 0:39
Speaker 1: Society Forging a New Path Forward.
• 0:47
Speaker 2: Hello, hello, hello, everybody we have.
• 0:50
Speaker 2: I'm so excited today we have a very, very special, near and dear friend, Charlotte Barbarita Howard-Dianis.
• 0:59
Speaker 2: She is a fellow neuro-encoding specialist and so much more.
• 1:03
Speaker 2: I'm not even going to attempt to go through the list of her accolades and things like that, because she's going to do it justice better than I am.
• 1:12
Speaker 2: But, char, I am so proud and honored that you're here.
• 1:16
Speaker 3: So if you can tell people a little bit about yourself, Well, first off, I'm the one that's honored and, michael, I love that you dedicate your whole life, ministry, your heart and your whole career to serving veterans and thank you for your service as well.
• 1:35
Speaker 3: So that's first and foremost, always.
• 1:38
Speaker 3: Well, there is, as you said, a very extensive.
• 1:45
Speaker 3: I'm one of those type A personalities that if I have an opportunity to learn something that way I can help others, I'm going to be all in.
• 1:56
Speaker 3: I have to feel like it's for me or I'm called to do so.
• 2:01
Speaker 3: I became a federal chaplain during the time that we both were in school for neuroencoding with Dr Joseph McLennan III, a neuropsychologist, our mentor, our friend and coach.
• 2:15
  Speaker 3: He's amazing.
• 2:16
Speaker 3: What he has done in the neuroscience and the neuropsychology field is phenomenal and the neuropsychology field is phenomenal.
• 2:29
  Speaker 3: So I'm a federal chaplain.
• 2:30
Speaker 3: I also just now signed up to become what's called a ketone technology optimization coach.
• 2:34
Speaker 3: I'll explain later what that is.
• 2:36
Speaker 3: Basically, it's just a science of how our body works and how we can ignite our brains and get the neurotropics in there to help with depression.
• 2:45
Speaker 3: We'll get into that later.
• 2:48
Speaker 3: And I was a hospital administrator.
• 2:50
Speaker 3: I've worked with developmentally disabled.
• 2:52
Speaker 3: I also behind the scenes.
• 2:56
Speaker 3: Not many people know this, but I work with a couple of companies Reach and Rescue it's for the homeless here in the Ohio area, and then a company that is near and dear to my heart which we'll get into is Hope Soap.
• 3:15
Speaker 3: I'm also a behavior modification nutritional health coach, nutritional health coach, and my main ministry is working with type two diabetics and helping them re-advocate the stigma of that disease and being able to conquer it through nutrition and intermittent fasting.
• 3:38
Speaker 2: Excellent, fantastic, and thank you for sharing all that.
• 3:41
Speaker 2: And I just want to share everybody so much more.
• 3:44
Speaker 2: Another podcast or another show no, you're, you're, you're, you're phenomenal.
• 3:53
Speaker 2: So we're going to get into the nutrition part as well, because I know I'm a big believer that mental health and nutrition actually are combined dramatically and very importantly, connected and we're going to get into that.
• 4:07
Speaker 2: So, if we can, I'd like to ask you some questions and we can go and get started.
• 4:13
Speaker 2: Sound good, okay, sounds like a plan.
• 4:15
Speaker 2: Just before we do that, I just want to remind everybody.
• 4:18
Speaker 2: On the top right-hand corner of your screen, you see a blue QR code.
• 4:21
Speaker 2: That is for resources for veterans and some eBooks that I've written and all kinds of good stuff.
• 4:27
Speaker 2: So please, you know, check that out.
• 4:30
Speaker 2: It's also an empower performance strategiescom If you're just listening on the on the podcast, because you can't do the QR code, so I just wanted to get that out there Also, please, please, please, please, stick around for the whole show, because we're going to go through three tips at the end.
• 4:47
Speaker 2: That'll get you further faster.
• 4:48
Speaker 2: We always do that for veterans and their families and, of course, we're going to do that again today.
• 4:53
Speaker 2: So, if we can go ahead and start, would you share the pivotal moment when you witnessed your father and tell me a little about your father struggles and knew you wanted to make a change in that medical field, and how does that memory really influence your work today?
• 5:10
Speaker 3: Well, this is not a subject I talk about.
• 5:12
Speaker 3: I actually I have to feel an absolute peace to be able to bring this up, because it was my very first major trauma of my life.
• 5:22
Speaker 3: My father was a disabled American veteran and my mother and I were part of the DAV.
• 5:30
Speaker 3: Now the DAV are disabled American veteran for women.
• 5:34
Speaker 3: They're the division where it's kind of like where you have AA, they have Al-Anon for the families, you know, so a DAV can get in there and support their family member.
• 5:46
Speaker 3: So we were really, I mean, all in, we would serve veterans, we would take coffee to the homeless, we would do my father even though he had become very sorry.
• 6:04
Speaker 3: This still gets to me to this day and Char, thank you for being vulnerable.
• 6:10
Speaker 2: I know you said you know that we're going to be the honored ones to actually hear some of this story.
• 6:18
Speaker 2: Char, share what you want, Thank you.
• 6:21
Speaker 2: Share what you can, Because any of it, honestly, will be a blessing.
• 6:27
Speaker 3: I know it will help.
• 6:28
Speaker 3: That's why I'm being vulnerable, because the families need to hear what the children go through.
• 6:34
Speaker 3: So my father served in the military from the 1950s until just like a year before I was born and in 1962.
• 6:46
Speaker 3: And I was born in 63.
• 6:48
Speaker 3: He was discharged on medical for hallucinations, paranoia, schizophrenia.
• 6:56
Speaker 3: He broke, absolutely broke my father.
• 7:00
Speaker 3: The majority of my childhood my father was in the VA hospital on the sixth floor in Ann Arbor, michigan, which is the lockdown facility when he wouldn't take his meds, when he wasn't compliant.
• 7:15
Speaker 3: We went through a lot.
• 7:18
Speaker 3: He struggled Back then.
• 7:23
Speaker 3: Then it's when thorazine came out.
• 7:26
Speaker 3: What a horrible drug it was and my father was on high doses of thorazine.
• 7:32
Speaker 3: It made him like a zombie type person where we had to bathe him and feed him and I mean he lost himself for what he experienced in the war.
• 7:43
Speaker 3: And my father what I've ever told everybody, which is the truth.
• 7:52
Speaker 3: Before his breakdown he was a very famous songwriter in the country world.
• 7:59
  Speaker 3: Oh very nice.
• 8:00
Speaker 3: I grew up on the Grand Ole Opry and my father I mean, I've got pictures of me and June Carter Cash and Johnny Cash when I was a little girl, five-year-old.
• 8:11
Speaker 3: So I get emotional because you never want to see your parents suffer.
• 8:17
Speaker 3: But when you're a little kid you don't understand it.
• 8:23
Speaker 3: All you know is that daddy was normal one day and then the next he wasn't, and you struggle with that.
• 8:32
  Speaker 3: It wasn't until I was about 12.
• 8:36
Speaker 3: By that time he was a vegetable, literally a vegetable, couldn't carry on conversation, didn't know.
• 8:47
Speaker 3: The Thorazine was doing that to him, right, yeah, so Dr Grekin and Ann Arbor, yeah.
• 8:57
Speaker 3: And I have always been one of those overachiever type A personalities because I had to be, I was forced and taken care of.
• 9:06
Speaker 3: My mother was 44 when she had me, so by the time I was 15, she was pushing 60.
• 9:13
Speaker 3: And so, long, long story short, when I was 12, I started studying his disease.
• 9:21
Speaker 3: I don't know what made me do that, but I'm like, okay, maybe I can unlock a door in his brain.
• 9:29
Speaker 3: That's how I was thinking and that ignited me to think okay, I want to make a difference, I want to get in this medical field, I want to get into neuroscience and neuropsychology and nursing.
• 9:44
Speaker 3: I actually went to medical school for a while and I didn't like it so I hopped out.
• 9:49
Speaker 3: But, um, because you don't get to really spend the time with the patients that's needed, so, um, so at that junction, um, I took care of my father, graduated high school early, had my first master's when I was 18, all in the medical field.
• 10:11
Speaker 2: So thank you again for sharing that.
• 10:13
Speaker 2: It's important that people understand how military involvement and, of course, the resources are different but still not where they need to be now but how it affects everybody.
• 10:29
Speaker 2: You know the unseen heroes or the silent heroes I call them.
• 10:33
Speaker 2: You know the family at home that's dealing with.
• 10:37
Speaker 2: I miss mom or dad or uncle or whatever, or whatever the case, brother, whatever the case may be.
• 10:42
Speaker 2: So it's it's important that they see.
• 10:44
Speaker 2: You know all sides of that, so thank you again for being vulnerable and see my father.
• 10:48
Speaker 3: My father was a severe diabetic type 2 diabetic because food became an idol for him.
• 10:55
Speaker 3: It gave him comfort, you know, and when he would have an episode, a hallucination or a trigger of a memory, I've had bruises.
• 11:10
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 11:12
Speaker 3: I've had yeah, and I'm going to tell you.
• 11:17
Speaker 3: Now if your listeners don't hear anything else.
• 11:19
Speaker 3: I say Forgiveness you now if your listeners don't hear anything else.
• 11:22
Speaker 3: I say forgiveness Because when you are not walking in forgiveness, if you don't understand the mental health of post-traumatic stress or hallucinations or paranoia, then study it.
• 11:36
Speaker 3: Find out what's going on in that person that you love's brain and get them to help.
• 11:42
Speaker 3: But you have to forgive.
• 11:43
Speaker 3: It doesn't mean you have to subject yourself to it.
• 11:45
Speaker 3: You know you have to protect yourself.
• 11:48
Speaker 3: I'm not saying that.
• 11:49
Speaker 3: I'm just saying that you have to forgive or otherwise you're going to be bound to yourself.
• 11:54
  Speaker 2: Absolutely, Absolutely.
• 11:55
Speaker 2: And that leads me to something else I'd like to talk about for a second.
• 11:59
Speaker 2: And then we're going to definitely circle back into the nutrition and so on as a federal chaplain, and can you explain just what?
• 12:06
Speaker 2: That is really quick.
• 12:08
Speaker 3: Sure, Well, you know a lot of churches will have deacons and chaplains, so you know well, a federal chaplain I'm sorry, Okay, A federal chaplain is works with the United Nations, where I can go anywhere as long as they're a part of the United Nations.
• 12:30
Speaker 3: If there is a natural disaster, war, anything, I can take my medical field, my background, and use it for good.
• 12:39
Speaker 3: As a federal chaplain, I have a federal badge.
• 12:42
Speaker 3: I can go into any hospital anywhere, anytime and work with FEMA, so we get paid.
• 12:51
Speaker 3: The only time I get paid to do anything is FEMA will put us up in a hotel and take care of us as we are serving a natural disaster.
• 13:00
Speaker 2: Excellent, excellent, and thank you for all of that work you do.
• 13:03
Speaker 2: You are a blessing, you truly are, and you're a gift.
• 13:08
  Speaker 2: So thank you.
• 13:08
Speaker 2: As a federal chaplain and a specialist in neuroencoding, obviously, how do you blend your spiritual guidance and scientific approaches for your practice?
• 13:20
Speaker 3: I'm very curious about that and scientific approaches for your practice.
• 13:23
Speaker 3: I'm very curious about that.
• 13:24
Speaker 3: Okay, that's an excellent question because I just I called our mentor about a year ago and I told him I rewrote his stop technique and that I wanted to go over it with him.
• 13:34
Speaker 3: And he goes well, how did you rewrite it?
• 13:38
Speaker 3: And I says well, it's perfect the way it is, but with me being a chaplain and my faith and having the transformation that I personally have had getting out of a wheelchair after 18 years and everything that God has done for me I cannot dishonor God.
• 13:57
Speaker 3: So the science world okay, the stop technique for your viewers, if they don't know is if you have a trigger, you have a negative thought or automatic negative thought.
• 14:09
Speaker 3: Dr Amen calls it you do the stop technique.
• 14:14
Speaker 3: The S stands for stop.
• 14:17
Speaker 3: You literally yell out stop.
• 14:20
Speaker 3: You literally yell out stop.
• 14:21
Speaker 3: So if you have that trigger, you have that memory or something that is not serving you well, you have the power within you to say stop.
• 14:40
Speaker 3: It creates a nanosecond of a black hole, a scotoma, in your brain.
• 14:43
Speaker 3: You have just that nanosecond to refill that with a positivity.
• 14:54
Speaker 3: With that being said, the T stands for take a deep breath, because we all know that if you take a deep breath in, it kind of relaxes you, and then the O means opposite.
• 15:00
Speaker 3: You're going to do the opposite of that negative thought, and that's what I say.
• 15:05
Speaker 3: And then P is praise, and we're supposed to praise ourself, pat ourselves on the back and say, okay, char, you did a really good job.
• 15:14
Speaker 3: You stopped the negative behavior.
• 15:16
Speaker 3: You took a deep breath.
• 15:18
Speaker 3: You did the opposite.
• 15:19
Speaker 3: You thought of something good, took a deep breath.
• 15:24
Speaker 3: You did the opposite.
• 15:24
Speaker 3: You did, uh, you thought of something good, you know, and then you anchored it by yes, you know, and you, you do all those things and I'm not spending enough time with it.
• 15:29
Speaker 3: But now I'm going to lead you to the stop technique that I rewrote and I'm going to ask you to do this with me, michael.
• 15:36
Speaker 3: Okay, okay I want you to think of a thought just for a moment, and I want you to stop in the name of Jesus.
• 15:45
Speaker 3: In the name of Jesus, okay, take a deep breath of the Holy Spirit in Nice and slow, and then you're going to release that breath, but you're going to keep the Holy Spirit within you because he's going to give you the fruit of him love, joy, peace and patience.
• 16:08
Speaker 3: And he lives in your heart anyway, because John 14, 23 says that they come and they make their abode, their home, in your heart, and there is no better peace than the Holy Spirit.
• 16:22
Speaker 3: Now you're going to do the oh, you're going to think of something positive.
• 16:28
Speaker 3: Philippians 4 8 says whatever's true, honest, just, pure, lovely, admirable, praiseworthy.
• 16:36
Speaker 3: We're going to think on those things and you're going to put a smile on your face, no matter what your situation is.
• 16:45
Speaker 3: If you put a smile on your face, your brain does not recognize if you feel or not right, but those muscles will activate the brain and you will receive a perfect dose of God's medicine, one that he created dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins.
• 17:06
Speaker 3: And as you go through this process which, of course, I go slower with it, you know and I anchor everything.
• 17:14
Speaker 3: But the P is praise.
• 17:16
Speaker 3: But first you're going to praise him and you're going to thank him that you learned this tool to learn the stop technique, and then you're going to praise yourself for doing it.
• 17:26
  Speaker 3: That's it.
• 17:30
Speaker 2: That's fantastic and I really enjoyed that, thank you.
• 17:34
Speaker 2: Thank you for sharing.
• 17:35
Speaker 3: I did quite fast because our time is limited and I appreciate that and I appreciate that.
• 17:40
Speaker 2: And so you know, we all have our versions.
• 17:45
Speaker 2: I think I shouldn't say that, but I've created a different version of it.
• 17:50
Speaker 2: You know, there's a lot of, a lot of different versions of neuro encoding that we found works for us.
• 17:55
Speaker 2: Because what do we do?
• 17:56
Speaker 2: We teach, you know, we don't teach theory.
• 17:58
Speaker 1: We do it ourselves right.
• 18:00
Speaker 2: So we've all found, I think, our little things that we do, which is fantastic.
• 18:05
Speaker 2: Thank you for sharing yours truly.
• 18:06
  Speaker 2: Thank you.
• 18:09
Speaker 2: What I'd like to ask you, with your deep personal professional commitment to veterans transitioning to civilian life, could you explain how neurocoding can address PTSD, anxiety, stress, all of those things and other mental challenges?
• 18:23
Speaker 2: Possibly Because we really want to move from, sometimes, the negatives and really focus on the transition to the positive, and that's what this show's a lot about.
• 18:33
Speaker 2: We want to bring light to all of that.
• 18:35
  Speaker 3: Yes.
• 18:36
Speaker 3: So, as you well know, I wallowed into my own post-traumatic stress disorder for 18 years.
• 18:43
Speaker 3: So I understand the veterans.
• 18:45
Speaker 3: You know, I already understood them because of my father, but then, when I experienced my own, there is a formula and it is simple.
• 18:57
Speaker 3: However, the veteran has to be willing to want to have that transformation.
• 19:03
Speaker 3: If they're not willing, it's like an alcoholic food addict.
• 19:08
Speaker 3: You know, whatever it is, you have to meet God at the mouth of the cave, like Elijah did.
• 19:14
Speaker 3: Elijah was in fear.
• 19:15
Speaker 3: Here's this prophet of Old Testament.
• 19:18
  Speaker 3: He is afraid.
• 19:20
Speaker 3: He goes into a cave trying to escape God.
• 19:22
  Speaker 3: Ha ha.
• 19:23
Speaker 3: But God had him come out of the mouth of the cave and guess what happened?
• 19:26
Speaker 3: He got to see the glory of God go by and he was protected and he was renewed in his mind.
• 19:34
Speaker 3: No more fear, do you know?
• 19:37
Speaker 3: In the Bible it says do not fear 365 times, one for every day.
• 19:45
  Speaker 2: Interesting.
• 19:45
Speaker 2: I did not know that.
• 19:48
Speaker 3: And so fear is false evidence appearing real, and so many of our fears are either past experiences and we're afraid they're going to happen again.
• 20:00
Speaker 3: Experiences and we're afraid they're going to happen again, or we work ourselves up to an anxiety level that we end up either causing that fear to happen and or it's never comes to fruition, and we end up okay, what was I afraid of?
• 20:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, so what we do is we address the fear sure you know.
• 20:20
Speaker 2: that's the reason you you know the podcast, your Thoughts, your Reality, right?
• 20:23
Speaker 2: It's the thoughts that we think, and that we think over and, over and over again that become reality for us.
• 20:30
Speaker 2: Whatever that means to you is different, right.
• 20:35
Speaker 3: So the perseveration of our thoughts is our worst enemy of our thoughts is our worst enemy.
• 20:46
Speaker 3: We do it sometimes to ourselves, or other people do it to us by word, assignments and things that they say to us, or brainwash, or trauma.
• 20:51
Speaker 3: So, with that being said, let's talk about the positives.
• 20:53
Speaker 3: So, um, of course I always use scripture, you know, and I lead people into their worthiness of who they are, who their identity is, because we all have wonderful attributes about ourselves, we all have gifts.
• 21:10
Speaker 3: And if we tap into those gifts and not the negatives you know, we've seen Joseph do it time and time and time again on stage, where they're in that moment of that trauma, and they'll ask him hey, what's your favorite color?
• 21:28
Speaker 3: Or where do you serve?
• 21:30
Speaker 3: Or do you do volunteer work, or, or, or, and you draw that person the gold nuggets out of them first, that's the foremost, then you can work.
• 21:40
Speaker 3: So one they have to be willing.
• 21:42
Speaker 3: They have to be willing to listen to this new way of neuro encoding, neuroscience.
• 21:49
Speaker 3: It's not that new, but like anything in life, it takes time to gain momentum.
• 21:54
Speaker 3: Joseph's been doing it for 30 years.
• 21:57
Speaker 3: So, number two after they're willing, we work on their self-worth, not self-esteem.
• 22:05
Speaker 3: Those are two different things, absolutely yes.
• 22:09
Speaker 3: And the third and most important and I hope your veterans are hearing this work with somebody that you have a piece working with just don't grab somebody out of the yellow pages or a coach.
• 22:21
Speaker 3: Do you think Somebody has to understand what you're going through?
• 22:25
Speaker 3: We can never teach theory, and when you said that earlier, I want to explain what that means.
• 22:37
Speaker 3: If I were to walk up to somebody that weighed 450 pounds but I never weighed 450 pounds and I can't align with that person I'm trying to go on theory, well, this might work for you because this is what I learned, but no, because I used to weigh over 400 pounds.
• 22:54
Speaker 3: I know the emotions, I know the baggage, I know the triumphs, the tragedies, the victories, and that's the kind of coach you need veterans, somebody like Michael, who's been through it, who's gone through the trenches, who will go through it with you.
• 23:12
  Speaker 3: That has overcome.
• 23:13
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 23:20
Speaker 2: So, if we can, let's.
• 23:21
Speaker 2: We've got about 23 minutes here and, just so you know, I'm doing this to honor my father and so on and the experiences of that.
• 23:32
Speaker 2: So I just wanted to say that, With the weight loss and how that connects, so you've achieved remarkable success in helping individuals manage type 2 diabetes.
• 23:46
Speaker 2: I hear about it all the time.
• 23:48
Speaker 2: I mean fantastic, amazing stuff.
• 23:51
Speaker 2: Can you discuss how you know neuroencoding plays a role in such, you know, physical health transformations?
• 23:59
Speaker 2: I'm sure you use it um, all the time.
• 24:02
Speaker 3: I'm meeting with two ladies tonight, so, yeah, um.
• 24:05
Speaker 3: So I mentioned that my father, you know he never turned to alcohol or drugs, but food was his drug of choice, which led to severe type 2 diabetes, which led to amputations.
• 24:20
Speaker 3: I mean he suffered, and any addiction sorry, any addiction will wreak havoc.
• 24:31
Speaker 3: I mentioned God's perfect dose of feel-good hormones earlier.
• 24:42
Speaker 3: Well, we now know in the medical field which we didn't know 20 years ago that serotonin begins in the gut of what you eat.
• 24:46
Speaker 3: So when you're eating McDonald's and all these high processed foods and carbs, you are actually causing death to your brain.
• 24:58
Speaker 3: We were never meant to eat as much sugar as we do and so when a diabetic is eating sugar, it's absolute, like poison, like cyanide, and so all the nerve endings start dying off.
• 25:14
Speaker 3: But we now know that food and nutrition and intermittent fasting when you do intermittent fasting, where you don't eat for 16 hours and you choose an eight-hour window, really quick, what happens is your body goes into a state of autophagy, a euphoric state of where your body can do.
• 25:34
Speaker 3: It goes and cleans like a Roomba vacuum or a self-cleaning oven oven all the dead, non-functioning cells and all the good mitochondria, which is the battery of your cells will go and eat the non-functioning cells, which leaves room for rebirth and regrowth of cells.
• 25:56
Speaker 3: What does that mean to you?
• 25:57
Speaker 3: What it means to you is you have the opportunity to regrow brain cells.
• 26:06
Speaker 3: That's why I deal with ketones, because ketones are a fuel source that actually ignites the brain Unparalleled energy, fierce focus, mental clarity.
• 26:18
Speaker 3: The studies that are out there, 205 patents.
• 26:22
  Speaker 3: We have Neurotropics.
• 26:24
Speaker 3: We have, you know, those five-hour energies that a lot of veterans and people drink, that are absolute poison.
• 26:31
  Speaker 2: Right.
• 26:32
  Speaker 3: We have one.
• 26:33
Speaker 3: It's called Keto Kick and it's a neurotropic and it's like sublingual B12.
• 26:38
Speaker 3: The second it's on your tongue, it goes straight to your brain and it gives you that mood enhancement.
• 26:44
  Speaker 3: It's a mood enhancement.
• 26:46
  Speaker 3: It's a mood enhancement.
• 26:47
Speaker 3: So even people that are experiencing depression and anxiety.
• 26:52
Speaker 3: We even have one called neuro chill that actually has magnesium that calms the brain down, and I have people with anxiety taking neuro chill.
• 27:01
Speaker 3: So I wanted to bring up the food nutrition.
• 27:04
Speaker 3: Your brain health is vital in what you eat it is Absolutely, absolutely so.
• 27:12
Speaker 2: As far as the neuro encoding when you're working with somebody with the physical health transformation, can you we have about three minutes left or so Can you talk about that?
• 27:21
Speaker 2: Just a little bit Sure.
• 27:24
Speaker 3: So when I have a classroom full of people, I will say a quick thing.
• 27:31
Speaker 3: Can somebody tell me a holiday?
• 27:34
Speaker 3: That's not a holiday where kids dress up in costumes and they go collect candy.
• 27:38
Speaker 3: Answer, Michael, what's that holiday?
• 27:42
  Speaker 2: Halloween.
• 27:43
Speaker 3: Yes, what's the date?
• 27:45
  Speaker 2: October 31st Okay.
• 27:47
Speaker 3: Well, did you know the Bible?
• 27:50
Speaker 2: It was going to be a task.
• 27:51
  Speaker 3: Char.
• 27:51
Speaker 3: 1 Corinthians 10.31 says whatever you eat, whatever you drink, whatever you do, you do it all for the glory of God.
• 27:57
Speaker 3: You'll never forget as long as you can remember.
• 28:01
Speaker 3: 1 Corinthians 10, 10, 31 is already ingrained in your brain, and I teach them that that they have all these little things in their brain.
• 28:09
Speaker 3: That only takes them a second to remember.
• 28:12
Speaker 3: So I start anchoring that our children are taught gluttony from the get-go Right, and so then I start teaching them with 30 seconds to spare.
• 28:26
Speaker 3: Here what I do is I go in and I teach them as I think, so I feel as I feel, so I do as I do, so I have, and then I back it up with scripture as well and neuroencoding, and I get them to stand up and I get them to dance, which releases all those feel-good hormones.
• 28:45
Speaker 3: So I do a lot of neuroencoding techniques with scripture.
• 28:49
  Speaker 2: Fantastic.
• 28:50
Speaker 2: That's fantastic and thank you for going through that and sharing that.
• 28:52
  Speaker 2: Thank you.
• 28:53
Speaker 2: I know you want to talk about Hope, soap and Reach and Rescue, so can we talk about that for about a minute or so?
• 29:00
Speaker 2: Can we talk about that for about a minute or so?
• 29:11
Speaker 3: I prefer hope so, because I met Nathan several years ago and he was a teenager at the time, and I'm not going to tell you his testimony because I would love for him to come on this show with you.
• 29:17
Speaker 3: But he started a food truck, but first he was going and feeding the homeless in Akron, ohio, and a majority of the homeless are veterans.
• 29:35
Speaker 3: They give up, they can't focus, they can't function, they can't pay their bills, they just give up.
• 29:38
Speaker 3: And so he would go out and feed the homeless and it built into where he thought you know what?
• 29:43
Speaker 3: No, I want to give them dignity, I want to give them respect.
• 29:47
Speaker 3: And he saved his money and he bought a food truck and to this day.
• 29:52
Speaker 2: By the way, I just want to say that they deserve.
• 29:56
Speaker 3: By the way, I just want to say yes, they do, yes, they do, yes, they do.
• 30:00
Speaker 3: So he takes the food truck and he goes and he feeds the homeless.
• 30:04
Speaker 3: They get to go up to it and order what they want with dignity.
• 30:09
  Speaker 2: That's fantastic.
• 30:18
Speaker 3: And then he created this organization called Hope Soap.
• 30:22
Speaker 3: Now do you want to work for the food truck?
• 30:23
  Speaker 3: Hey.
• 30:24
Speaker 3: Do you want to work in the factory?
• 30:25
Speaker 3: Then he gets them a place to live.
• 30:27
Speaker 3: Then we start earning paychecks and learning money management and loving just loving on them.
• 30:32
  Speaker 2: Fantastic.
• 30:34
  Speaker 3: And so Hope.
• 30:35
Speaker 3: Soap is near and dear to my heart.
• 30:37
Speaker 2: So I would love, do you have a website or a contact, or, when we're done, can you please put that information in the comments, so people yes, I already talked to nathan walden, the ceo and founder of hope soap.
• 30:49
Speaker 3: He also gave me um, a website for charitable donations so that they can get the food and stuff for the food truck.
• 30:56
Speaker 3: Um, but hope soap, I'm telling you it smells wonderful.
• 31:01
Speaker 3: They have shampoos, all the lotions, all natural, everything's biodegradable.
• 31:06
  Speaker 3: It's amazing.
• 31:07
Speaker 2: Fantastic and thank you for sharing that.
• 31:09
Speaker 2: So I want to kind of end out here with what we promised in the beginning, to put a little bow on all of this, and we definitely need to have you back on.
• 31:18
Speaker 2: There's a lot of stuff we didn't get to and it's such great, powerful information, so we'll schedule something.
• 31:26
Speaker 3: I want to talk more about the ketones and how it would ignite your veterans and all veterans in the world.
• 31:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, thank you.
• 31:34
Speaker 2: So again, let's put a little bow on this.
• 31:37
Speaker 2: First of all, can you give us the three tips that you would give to veterans and their families to help them get further faster, based on all of your plethora of knowledge?
• 32:10
Speaker 3: so that children don't have to escape trauma later on.
• 32:11
Speaker 3: You know, if you hire a coach now, more than likely they won't need therapy later with a real licensed therapist.
• 32:20
Speaker 3: If you knew, keller is just a wonderful and there's we have.
• 32:29
Speaker 2: We know a lot of people that work with children, so get your children a coach or they reach out to me anytime.
• 32:34
Speaker 2: You know, if it's not something that I deal with or you know Char deals with, we know so many people because we're not, we have no interest in, just you know, working with somebody that we can't help.
• 32:47
Speaker 2: It's all about how many people can we help with the breaths that we have left.
• 32:51
  Speaker 2: That's what it's about.
• 32:54
Speaker 3: I don't charge for my services.
• 32:56
Speaker 3: Michael, Did you know that?
• 32:57
Speaker 2: I did not, so please just reach out, and if we can't help you, we can definitely lead you.
• 33:03
Speaker 3: Connect you Because I will always be honest with you.
• 33:06
Speaker 3: If I'm not the right fit, I have to tell you because I want you to get help.
• 33:11
Speaker 3: Number two Number two wives sacrifice so much.
• 33:17
Speaker 3: I saw my mother go through a lot.
• 33:19
Speaker 3: The DAV did wonders for her.
• 33:22
Speaker 3: Now there's other organizations that they can get into Volunteer at your local VA hospital, you know, because there's programs there where their needs can be met, because the women are trying to take care of the children and the sick husband, or vice versa, the husband's taking care of the female disabled.
• 33:42
  Speaker 3: American veteran.
• 33:43
Speaker 3: Absolutely and so yeah, so both get coaches.
• 33:49
Speaker 2: And I'd like to add on there when you volunteer and you hear someone's story, and whether you're a coach or you're just a person that just wants to help somebody, just being seen, just being talked to and hearing someone's story, it is.
• 34:06
Speaker 2: It is so impactful for yourself and sometimes very healing and cleansing for yourself as well avenues and we don't have 37 more minutes to go through this.
• 34:17
Speaker 3: So I know, michael, your program needs to not go to an hour.
• 34:22
  Speaker 3: It really does.
• 34:27
Speaker 2: Well, we're getting there right now.
• 34:29
Speaker 2: So just seriously think about that.
• 34:32
Speaker 2: Volunteering Not only does it feel good to do it for the right reasons, but again, when you talk to people and they feel seen, and then you feel seen as well, it's an amazing relationship that you can build, whether that be for 30 minutes or 30 years.
• 34:46
Speaker 3: Michael, I need to say something, and this is going to sound like it's far out in left field, but stick with me.
• 34:51
Speaker 3: Okay, you got it.
• 34:52
Speaker 3: I remember the old country group called the Judds.
• 34:55
Speaker 3: Do you remember them?
• 34:56
  Speaker 3: Absolutely.
• 34:57
Speaker 3: Well, she's saying it's not old, I am that old.
• 35:15
Speaker 3: I am that old, I just turned 60.
• 35:16
Speaker 3: So you know the song.
• 35:17
Speaker 3: Grandpa, tell me about the good old days.
• 35:18
Speaker 3: You know if you ever play that song.
• 35:20
Speaker 3: What she's saying is I want to know what's in your mind, I want to hear what you went through.
• 35:26
Speaker 3: There is such a legacy of hearing the stories.
• 35:33
Speaker 3: Not only is it healing, so when you volunteer or the veterans volunteer or anything, we want to hear your stories, we want to hear your testimony, because it's your legacy.
• 35:47
Speaker 2: Absolutely, absolutely, thank you.
• 35:49
Speaker 2: I think we need a third.
• 35:51
  Speaker 3: Yes, we do.
• 35:52
Speaker 3: So I got to say it, I'm going to be me.
• 35:58
Speaker 3: I've got to be me.
• 35:59
Speaker 3: Okay, I don't want anything else.
• 36:01
Speaker 3: Nutrition, I promise you, I had my head like buried, like an ostrich in the sand and I'm telling you, if you need any help, I will write a meal plan with you.
• 36:14
Speaker 3: I will work with you.
• 36:15
Speaker 3: I will find your likes, your dislikes.
• 36:18
Speaker 3: I've even gone grocery shopping with people.
• 36:20
Speaker 3: Okay, it's all you can have.
• 36:24
Speaker 3: Cheesecake, just use monk fruit.
• 36:26
Speaker 3: Monk fruit is a god natural sugar that won't spike your insulin or hurt your pancreas.
• 36:32
Speaker 3: So, nutrition, and I'm not talking.
• 36:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, I got to stick to salads.
• 36:37
Speaker 3: No, I make chicken paprikash.
• 36:40
Speaker 3: I make all these wonderful dishes and I have a website.
• 36:43
Speaker 3: You can join me on Meal Prep Mondays where you can get access to my recipes for free.
• 36:48
Speaker 3: I wrote a cook of all desserts with monk fruit.
• 36:53
Speaker 2: Fantastic, and monk fruit's fantastic.
• 36:55
Speaker 2: It is Done, it had it.
• 36:58
Speaker 2: So how do people reach you?
• 37:02
Speaker 3: Well, honestly, my name that you've got out so eloquently Sharla Barberita, howard Deannis.
• 37:07
Speaker 3: Find me on Facebook.
• 37:09
Speaker 3: You can follow me.
• 37:10
Speaker 3: You can send me a message.
• 37:11
Speaker 3: If you send me a message, I promise I will get to you and join my public group, meal Prep Mondays with a Z Meal Prep Mondays, and message me if you want help with nutrition.
• 37:26
Speaker 3: I would love to help you.
• 37:27
  Speaker 2: Fantastic.
• 37:28
  Speaker 2: Thank you Again.
• 37:30
Speaker 2: Honored, you're here, amazing things, vulnerability, you know.
• 37:35
  Speaker 2: Fantastic.
• 37:36
Speaker 2: Thank you that 30 minutes went fast.
• 37:39
  Speaker 2: We're almost at 40.
• 37:41
  Speaker 2: Oh wow.
• 37:43
  Speaker 3: Oh, my goodness.
• 37:44
Speaker 2: So what I'd like to just kind of finish off with is, if you can, please I know, susan, my wife has been amazing and has been putting some of the websites et cetera in there.
• 37:55
Speaker 2: But anything else, if you can put it in there so that people in the comments, so that I can reach out and get this information, keep in the comments so that people can reach out and get this information.
• 38:06
Speaker 2: So, with that, again honored for the time you spent.
• 38:07
Speaker 2: I know it's our most precious resource as humans and thank you for spending the time with us to help.
• 38:13
Speaker 3: So thank you my pleasure, anything I can ever do to help.
