NATO Leaders Receive Engraved Pistols | Calgary News
Turkey’s President Erdoğan surprised NATO leaders at the summit with engraved Magnum revolvers and six bullets each—complete with the recipient’s name. Canadian PM Mark Carney, who didn’t know what he’d received until chatting with UK PM Kier Starmer, admitted he’d prefer not to have firearms around, especially since it’s illegal in Canada and he lacks a license. Starmer had to leave his pistol in Turkey due to UK laws, while Belgian PM Bart De Wever handed his over to airport police upon arrival. Other EU leaders’ weapons were similarly confiscated.
