- 0:36Speaker 3: I got Jimi Reno with me.
- 0:37Speaker 3: That's right.
- 0:38Speaker 3: That was Reno 411.
- 0:41Speaker 3: That was course, was live footage from the release of the Grand of Rights deal for the ACC.
- 0:50Speaker 3: That's right.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Way back a century ago.
- 0:53Speaker 2: That's what they act like.
- 0:57Speaker 3: You can't even take the contract.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Well, many have tried, but you can't take the contract beyond the seal of the great seal of the Grand of Rights deal.
- 1:06Speaker 3: ACC headquarters.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Acc headquarters where the Grand of Rights deal is locked away the Greensboro dossier yeah.
- 1:12Speaker 3: What.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I want to know.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I should tell you right there that there's something going on with it.
- 1:16Speaker 1: So they moved from Greensboro to Charlotte.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Right the Charlotte dossier yeah, did they take the Grand of Rights and the Ark of the Covenant over to Charlotte so nobody could see it, right?
- 1:29Speaker 3: They moved the radius of the, where you can't take it out.
- 1:33Speaker 2: It's wherever they are.
- 1:35Speaker 3: That follows yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 2: They must have done shit in there.
- 1:38Speaker 2: It really is man Well.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Florida State has made it official.
- 1:42Speaker 3: At least they're starting the process.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the beginning of the process.
- 1:47Speaker 2: We're running a special case.
- 1:49Speaker 3: The lawyers now.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Right, it's in the lawyers hands now, as Florida State is going to file.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Oh, I thought you were going to say we made it official.
- 1:55Speaker 2: We're kicking everybody's ass, ain't you?
- 1:57Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Well, that's how they used to settle it, but not anymore.
- 2:01Speaker 2: We made it official.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Florida State wants out, it's going to cost them like Shocking.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I thought it was $120 million $600 million, almost when it's all said and done.
- 2:12Speaker 2: What $120 million on the local?
- 2:14Speaker 3: news today.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Well, when you add everything up, hey, don't trust your kids.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Fillable hours, man, no, they're just television sets.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Wow, that's a lot of money.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah, is live paying for it.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Well, that's what they're.
- 2:30Speaker 3: It's all going to be up and settling the courts now.
- 2:36Speaker 2: ACC has lost it as well.
- 2:37Speaker 2: You got that Saudi Arabia now.
- 2:40Speaker 3: First step.
- 2:41Speaker 3: But man kind of like if that shoes out man.
- 2:48Speaker 2: That's exciting.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I wanted Big Ten years ago.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it looks that way.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Right, well, it was inevitable, somebody was going to end up doing it.
- 2:57Speaker 2: This hasn't been talked about, but can we start a petition for a hockey team, since we're going into Big Ten?
- 3:03Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I liked it.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Dude, that would be so sick.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Civic Center, tanya Sharks, old Rink, let's get it going, right, do you want?
- 3:12Speaker 3: hockey.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Well, what are your first reactions to this Jimmy?
- 3:18Speaker 1: Good.
- 3:18Speaker 1: About time, about time, yeah, yeah, tired of Florida State accepting being poor in the future Right, just because the ACC tells them they have to Right.
- 3:32Speaker 3: They own SEC and the ACC and it just seems like one is Right.
- 3:38Speaker 3: How can you compete there?
- 3:40Speaker 3: They gave you a reason.
- 3:42Speaker 2: One's the stepchild bro.
- 3:43Speaker 3: What was Florida State was probably going to do?
- 3:45Speaker 3: Maybe, if not, this year, soon.
- 3:48Speaker 3: They put a guarantee on that when they left them out.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Oh, you can put a guarantee on them boxes.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I think that's what gave them confidence to just go ahead and do it.
- 3:59Speaker 1: I think you're right.
- 4:00Speaker 1: But they said they started filing this case over a year ago.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah, they first spoke up publicly and called out the ACC.
- 4:10Speaker 1: That was them letting everybody know, hey, we're going to do this.
- 4:18Speaker 1: They tried everything they could to get the other schools, to get anybody to listen and work with them.
- 4:23Speaker 1: They couldn't even get the ACC to renegotiate, to even acknowledge them.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Well, yeah, you can't even stay and read the document too long.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Because then you might turn to dust.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Well, the biggest thing is that everybody found out or I'm sure presidents and administrators at universities knew that the ESPN deal with the ACC is up in 2027, not 2036.
- 4:49Speaker 1: The grant of rights may be owned, but there's no guaranteed television contract after 2027.
- 4:57Speaker 1: So essentially they're trying to enforce penalties on like nine years of where there's no contract.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Right, so you're just gonna come up with a dollar amount.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Pretty much of settlement.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I think what ultimately ends up happening is both sides lawyers after they bill by the half hour for a year year and a half, there's finally a settlement.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Florida State will pay, I'd say anywhere from like 150 to 200 million in an exit fee, and that'll be it by 2025, we'll probably be playing into different conference.
- 5:31Speaker 3: And that conference will be.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I would assume the Big 10, but I wouldn't rule out the Big 12.
- 5:37Speaker 1: We're not going to the SEC, well, you're pretty much doing the ESPN.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Is that even still a conference?
- 5:41Speaker 2: We can't join the Big 12.
- 5:43Speaker 1: No, and the reason that doesn't make a ton of sense.
- 5:45Speaker 1: That's origin of the ACC.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Nothing's worse than the ACC.
- 5:49Speaker 2: We went six and four against the ACC this year, so all you'll be there worse than us, but yeah sure.
- 5:53Speaker 1: No, nothing's worse than the ACC's deal.
- 5:55Speaker 2: This is not about it, no, you only have a dollar sign yeah, of course.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Well, that's how this is being looked at, right especially now when you can use that.
- 6:02Speaker 2: That's not how I look at college football.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Call me old fashioned, well yeah college football is only like this, is only the cattle is driving it.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Ultimately, this is what funds the entire athletic department.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Right, this is ground to happen, thinking beyond just their college football team and their entire athletic department and how far back they're gonna be set behind.
- 6:20Speaker 1: So I wouldn't say that the Big 12 is really a possibility because they also have a contract with ESPN.
- 6:26Speaker 1: If it is, that's a joke, I think that it's gonna be Florida State and the Big 10 underneath a Fox network contract.
- 6:35Speaker 1: We'll see what goes from there, but the ACC is probably, once Florida State finally is no longer a member, will very likely just dissolve completely.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Because, you're gonna see the floodgates open.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Clemson will be next.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Other teams will just the other teams headed to the SEC if I was them.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean they can go.
- 6:53Speaker 1: The SEC has.
- 6:55Speaker 3: They're going to North Carolina.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Yeah, they really don't have a whole lot of interest.
- 6:58Speaker 3: They don't have a team in North Carolina.
- 7:01Speaker 3: You have opposition.
- 7:02Speaker 2: They don't have one in South Carolina either, bro, they have South Carolina and.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Florida, here, that's their posing.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Yeah, they just view it by state by territory, Right, you know they've got four North Carolina teams.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Why do you have to worry about that?
- 7:18Speaker 3: Well, the SEC has zero.
- 7:19Speaker 3: They want if they get the flag.
- 7:20Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying you can have more than one school in one state.
- 7:23Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah, but they don't.
- 7:26Speaker 1: It's all television markets.
- 7:28Speaker 1: They're looking at Eyeballs streaming stuff.
- 7:30Speaker 1: They're competing against each other Like, nobody in the state of North Carolina gets as much leverage, as much eyeballs, as you and C.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Well, nobody outside the state of North Carolina is watching North Carolina football, so we don't care.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Yeah, but the SEC does.
- 7:47Speaker 1: They want that state, they want to move in to have a state they don't already own.
- 7:52Speaker 3: I doubt that the money was raised.
- 7:55Speaker 3: That's what happened.
- 7:57Speaker 3: The snub did it.
- 7:59Speaker 3: That got the final boost from the big donors that they needed to pony up the money to make a kind of huge decision that this is, this is gonna change the game.
- 8:11Speaker 3: She said, jamie, it's just gonna.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I think it the ACC's overwork.
- 8:15Speaker 1: It inspired a lot of the big money to start spending on the lawyers that is what it's gonna take.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I doubt they've raised any money earmarked for the exit fee.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I'm sure this is just, it'll come, but not yet.
- 8:29Speaker 1: We got a ways to go before it's actually gonna be.
- 8:32Speaker 1: They gotta decide where they're even gonna hold the thing Florida, north Carolina.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Right, we're gonna get some actual lawyers before we.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, once you get into legal talks.
- 8:41Speaker 1: It's crazy, though we got absolutely no.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I will say this Ashley Moody, I'm a lifelong gator, but I know injustice when I see it.
- 8:49Speaker 2: That was pretty cool.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Right, well, I mean considering she's a gator.
- 8:55Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Yeah, well, you know.
- 8:59Speaker 1: So's Deckerhoff, I just kidding.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Don't ever call him that man.
- 9:02Speaker 2: He would get so mad.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I was supposed to say that on live air bro, he would get so mad.
- 9:06Speaker 1: People don't know that.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Stop, Stop.
- 9:08Speaker 1: He's WikiPage man, Dude stop.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Yeah, but you can't trust a WikiPage.
- 9:15Speaker 3: And there's nothing wrong with the university as far as some of the education programs right, yeah, I guess, if you like to spell it, do-do when you went to school.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I mean, if you went to school when Deckerhoff was going to school, you had to go to Florida for some things Manure Hogstown.
- 9:30Speaker 3: So we got this.
- 9:32Speaker 1: It doves like.
- 9:34Speaker 3: We got this orange bowl coming out.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Oh God.
- 9:37Speaker 2: The biggest game in 10 years.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Most meaningless game in the history of the program.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Biggest game since the orange bowl at Dalvin Cook Takeover, we told you.
- 9:49Speaker 2: When we played who?
- 9:51Speaker 3: When we played who, mr Deckerhoff, he wasn't playing in it and now everyone else has made it official.
- 9:55Speaker 3: As far as impact players that have a chance in the draft, everybody on that roster is going for it If you have a chance in the draft you have to.
- 10:03Speaker 3: So that just tells you the meaninglessness of this game.
- 10:06Speaker 3: I didn't know any narrative about it.
- 10:10Speaker 2: That's a hard word to.
- 10:11Speaker 3: I don't get a minute to respond to that.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Hold on, that wasn't done, but go ahead.
- 10:15Speaker 2: It used the word meaningless and it really upsets me.
- 10:18Speaker 2: So you're trying to tell me these guys who have worked their entire life playing football, from elementary to middle to high school, and they get to play in the absolute New Year's 6 orange bowl, one of the greatest bowls in college football, and it's meaningless.
- 10:33Speaker 2: You sound defeated.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Well, no, I didn't mean it like that.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I'm sure the kids will.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I'm sure the kids will take a lot of it.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I was poor.
- 10:41Speaker 2: It's the birth sound, meaningless.
- 10:42Speaker 3: It sounds Well, just to take the narrative of that, this game has any impact on what would have happened.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I'm gonna take a warrior mentality.
- 10:50Speaker 2: That's all I was gonna say.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Is that I'm gonna take a warrior mentality and say I worked my entire life for this moment, especially if I'm Tate Rodermaker?
- 10:56Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I know that, but I'm not talking about that.
- 10:58Speaker 3: But if I get my chance, Mike Norvell 14 point undergall.
- 11:02Speaker 2: The proper game plan can get him 14-0, and possibly a number one spot in the coaches pole.
- 11:08Speaker 3: It wouldn't have happened if they would.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I know that man, I'm just.
- 11:11Speaker 2: You used the wrong word.
- 11:13Speaker 2: You used the wrong word.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Yeah, it's obviously meaningful for the guys that are playing in it.
- 11:17Speaker 3: It's meaningful, but I'm saying it's not gonna matter to anybody that tries to make any narrative about this year's team and what they would have done in the playoffs.
- 11:26Speaker 2: They don't care about college football and they don't care about our players.
- 11:28Speaker 2: They're making it about themselves.
- 11:30Speaker 2: This is about our players, who are playing in this bowl game.
- 11:35Speaker 3: I am.
- 11:35Speaker 2: And Mike Norvell and that four-state logo.
- 11:38Speaker 2: That means so much to all of us.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Okay.
- 11:40Speaker 3: So all I was trying to address is, if you, if they lose this game, doesn't mean anything what this team would have done in a playoff, because they're doing what it doesn't.
- 11:50Speaker 2: That's to shut up.
- 11:51Speaker 2: And then let me say it.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Then you said they lose.
- 11:55Speaker 3: I as far as meaninglessness in, in, in trying to describe that, in saying that it what, what, that would do, what, trying to say that to analyze what FSU would do if they were in the playoff.
- 12:06Speaker 3: That's, it was meaningless in that.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Okay, all right.
- 12:08Speaker 2: God, we should have led with that.
- 12:11Speaker 2: I was trying to you upset me.
- 12:13Speaker 2: I'm sorry you should have led with that.
- 12:14Speaker 2: I think it was nothing to do with what would happen in the playoffs.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Do we have two of our best receivers in the history of college football?
- 12:22Speaker 2: I'm freaking, counting.
- 12:24Speaker 3: I know, I know, so it's hard to get excited about a glorified oh yeah, it's meaningless.
- 12:29Speaker 2: when it's going to be a fun game or, like I thought you mean, the game itself is meaningless.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I mean, I mean I'm sure the players are going to get some, some joy.
- 12:39Speaker 2: I'm not taking anything from your disrespecting Florida State football and the game of football If you think this game is meaningless.
- 12:47Speaker 3: I don't think it's meaningless.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Couldn't disagree more.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Sounds like Reno does.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I do.
- 12:52Speaker 3: I don't think there's really just the way it is, Any as a fan.
- 12:56Speaker 1: What do you?
- 12:56Speaker 1: I mean, you get a fun.
- 12:57Speaker 1: You get fun if they win, but they're not going to win.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Man, you ever, you ever, played an orange ball before.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I never played college football before.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Yeah Well, I can tell you right now it's not meaningless, it's definitely not meaningless.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:08Speaker 1: The kids that stick around and play the game in the orange bowl.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It's not meaningless, they're going to get something out of it.
- 13:14Speaker 2: But 14 or 15 starters.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Kids play football their entire lives for this one opportunity.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Oh, I know that for this one opportunity.
- 13:21Speaker 1: No, they play football their entire lives, for the opportunity that they were denied.
- 13:25Speaker 1: They were denied, that's why, they're left.
- 13:27Speaker 2: That's why they're left.
- 13:28Speaker 2: If it mattered, why?
- 13:30Speaker 2: Why are they not playing in it?
- 13:31Speaker 2: If it mattered, why are?
- 13:32Speaker 3: they no, then why isn't?
- 13:33Speaker 3: Why are all the big playmakers on this team not playing in it?
- 13:37Speaker 2: Because they don't want to risk injury before they get to the home.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Okay, so that's all I'm saying.
- 13:39Speaker 3: It doesn't matter.
- 13:42Speaker 1: It's a nice little end to the season.
- 13:44Speaker 3: It's not like it has nothing to do with anything.
- 13:45Speaker 3: On this record.
- 13:46Speaker 3: That's why I say the record's over at 13 and 0.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it doesn't like this is like this is pretty much get ready for next year.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Use it for practice.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Let's say let's say they win.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Hey, I agree to disagree.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Let's say when you finish, 14 and 0, that's really special season, really is.
- 14:02Speaker 2: It's already been a special season.
- 14:04Speaker 1: At most they're going to be ranked fifth.
- 14:07Speaker 2: We don't need to talk about special season we already had that.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yeah, so that's all I'm saying.
- 14:11Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
- 14:12Speaker 3: It's like.
- 14:12Speaker 2: This is basically I agree to disagree If you don't think this game matters then, I feel sorry for you.
- 14:18Speaker 3: What does it matter then?
- 14:20Speaker 2: Do I need to do it?
- 14:20Speaker 3: again, of course it matters.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Of course it matters.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it doesn't matter.
- 14:24Speaker 1: There's a ton of value in it for the underclassmen.
- 14:27Speaker 2: The culture of college football.
- 14:28Speaker 1: There's a the culture of college football.
- 14:29Speaker 2: We're going to field a team and they're going to play their.
- 14:31Speaker 2: We're going to field a team and they're going to play their absolute hearts out.
- 14:34Speaker 2: And that's what football is about.
- 14:35Speaker 2: That's not about these corporate capture of America and sponsors and college playoffs.
- 14:40Speaker 2: It's about the game and showing up and playing your hearts and having fun with your boys.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Don't ever forget that.
- 14:46Speaker 2: And Tate Roddenmaker is going to go out there and he's going to play his fucking ass off.
- 14:50Speaker 2: You know what I think we're going to win?
- 14:52Speaker 1: 14 points.
- 14:53Speaker 2: That's great man, that's good so what I'm saying is Norvella is going to run Toa Fili out of the Wildcat, just like we did against Louisville.
- 15:01Speaker 2: We're going to win this.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Hey man, you got hope after it.
- 15:07Speaker 2: You can't hate on that.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Wait till Toa Fili comes out, that Wildcat son.
- 15:11Speaker 2: You know it's coming.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean something's going to happen we don't have a third string quarterback.
- 15:18Speaker 2: We got our second string, baysmore stadium, val Dosta boy playing against.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I guarantee Tate's played all these boys in high school, georgia boy, he's ready.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Got knocked out against his rival on a cheap shot.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Could even play in a freaking title game.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Now he's back.
- 15:33Speaker 2: What?
- 15:34Speaker 2: Just saying?
- 15:35Speaker 2: He's got rhythm with Williams, he's got rhythm with Hill.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Just saying we're missing our D-line.
- 15:40Speaker 2: We're going to have an offense.
- 15:44Speaker 3: No no.
- 15:45Speaker 2: What about the O line?
- 15:46Speaker 2: Who we missing on our line?
- 15:47Speaker 1: Missing three starters on the O line.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Three out of five.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Yeah, you're missing your center, you're missing both tackles.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Maurice isn't playing.
- 15:57Speaker 2: No, I love it.
- 15:57Speaker 2: I love it I love it.
- 15:58Speaker 1: I love it.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Fsu, I love the like I'm saying it's great to be enthusiastic.
- 16:02Speaker 1: You're going to be down like 15 starters.
- 16:04Speaker 1: We're going to win.
- 16:05Speaker 1: We're going to win.
- 16:06Speaker 1: There's no shot Watch.
- 16:06Speaker 1: We're going to win.
- 16:08Speaker 2: All right, it's going to be and this is going to be Norvelle's biggest win of his life, because you're going to have the game playing they've never seen before.
- 16:14Speaker 1: No, I think the biggest win of his life is probably the way the game plays hey.
- 16:19Speaker 2: so oh, what about Douglas?
- 16:20Speaker 2: He's playing right, sure.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I mean he's not going to the NFL.
- 16:24Speaker 2: The Pittsburgh star?
- 16:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean.
- 16:27Speaker 2: So is he going to be our return man?
- 16:28Speaker 2: Probably.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I don't know If he was against Pitt.
- 16:32Speaker 1: You're going to see a lot of kids that haven't played at all.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Get a bunch of minutes in this game.
- 16:38Speaker 2: He's going to have value.
- 16:39Speaker 2: They're going to get great reps.
- 16:41Speaker 1: You're going to see who looks poised to take a leap next year, but the overall outcome of the game is just it's inconsequential man there's.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I could not disagree more.
- 16:53Speaker 1: No, yeah, if you win it's great, you're going to win the game Of course you play to win the game.
- 16:58Speaker 1: The expectation, though, is that, man, you're playing a bunch of your second string against what is arguably the best roster in the country, minus a couple of players, so they're playing all their starters for no reason.
- 17:09Speaker 1: I mean yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 2: None of those guys are going to the NFL.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Well, the two that are going to the NFL are on the fence.
- 17:15Speaker 1: The guaranteed first round picks are on the fence Bowers and the kid on defense, I got to tell you behind that too.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I wouldn't be surprised if BSVN paid some of those senior guys to play in the game, just so they can try to embarrass us Maybe.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I mean if you're not first round.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I would not be surprised if that happened, If you're not a first round guy.
- 17:35Speaker 2: If those, If their talent's actually playing in the game, I would actually bet my house that that happened.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe I really would.
- 17:42Speaker 2: I really would.
- 17:43Speaker 2: I mean it might not even have to be.
- 17:44Speaker 2: That's how shady BSVN and the playoff could have been man.
- 17:46Speaker 3: I knew this man.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I knew this 10 years ago.
- 17:49Speaker 3: You could see it when they were starting the SEC network.
- 17:53Speaker 3: I mean it was.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Eventually they wrote it into the deal of the College Football Playoff Committee, where it's pretty much just a TV boardroom.
- 18:03Speaker 3: I mean they bring out people and make it like that in a game.
- 18:07Speaker 3: That's never been about that ever.
- 18:09Speaker 3: They changed it right then and they finally have this year.
- 18:15Speaker 3: They're being exposed.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Unfortunately, Mike Lee said it all 2017.
- 18:20Speaker 2: He really did, man.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Once College teams became commodities to television networks, that's when everybody just died.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Not that I'm against the NIL, but it really was the nail in the coffin for what's called for a wag as we knew it.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I mean, nobody does it that way.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I mean, if we're so smart, wouldn't all the other supports say I don't want?
- 18:42Speaker 2: I'll tell you what.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Let's have a committee If we go 14 and O this coach is my bonus number one In the poll we could get a split of the national title.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Alabama claims like five titles, in that order.
- 18:53Speaker 2: All the polls are two losses, for half of them.
- 18:56Speaker 1: All the polls go with the College Football Playoff.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Doesn't Washington claim a title from like?
- 19:00Speaker 2: I mean, come on, everybody does it.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Yeah, when it was the AP.
- 19:04Speaker 1: And coaches If they would keep this what about
- 19:07Speaker 2: 2000 and two thousand and two thousand and two thousand.
- 19:09Speaker 3: If none of the guys would have left and they would have played together, maybe, and they made a stance together.
- 19:14Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 19:15Speaker 2: But, oh dude, if we had verse and fist alone, it'd be over.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Right, it's man, it's just.
- 19:22Speaker 3: And all the guys that are going to be drafted real early in the draft, let's just.
- 19:26Speaker 3: You know they stole the.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Reena, do we have any stead pass rusher that's going to be playing like a youngster.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I mean listen, I think there's still maybe guys on the defensive line that are going to play.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Let's go If Fisk hasn't come out and say he's not going to play.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Farmer has been acting like a you know, a dickhead on one.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I'll tell you right now if verse plays, we win.
- 19:48Speaker 1: But you know the only guys that are definitely not playing.
- 19:50Speaker 1: On the defensive line is Jared Verse oh wait, so wait.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Verse is definitely not playing.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Verse isn't playing.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I think the bigger losses for the state on the offense is the side of the ball.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Honestly, dude, I would like yeah, dude, don't play Like, just don't Like.
- 20:05Speaker 2: You're too good man, you're about to get top 10.
- 20:07Speaker 2: I love him too much to even let him play in this game.
- 20:11Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I would even let him I would even let him.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I would even let him in first round grade.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll let Braden Fisk play.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, I would I think he still might be trying to work his way into that first day.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Pick man, yeah, Like it's gotta be up to the player.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I think it's going to be.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I think the losses on offense are going to affect the state.
- 20:32Speaker 3: And all in all, man, you can just feel the frustration in everybody involved in it.
- 20:35Speaker 3: I mean that's.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Well, it's not against us man.
- 20:38Speaker 2: No, there's a lot of frustration across the country.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Yeah, right.
- 20:42Speaker 2: I mean the corporate capture is complete, man, they stole it, they stole it.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Well, yeah, they realized it when they took it, when they made it figure skating they didn't look good enough.
- 20:52Speaker 3: They decided what it takes to win.
- 20:54Speaker 1: They described something yeah, vegas, but I don't even think.
- 20:58Speaker 3: I don't even think it was that calculated the four best teams.
- 21:00Speaker 3: It wasn't.
- 21:01Speaker 2: I don't think it was, I don't even Well, Georgia should have gone if it was the four best Right, right, exactly.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Georgia would have been a 10-point overdog against Washington, right?
- 21:10Speaker 1: The only thing is that they were the whole time plugging that it's not the most deserving teams, it's not the most deserving teams, it's the best.
- 21:16Speaker 1: And then Georgia kind of got backchandled.
- 21:19Speaker 1: It's like the only reason we're not in is because they didn't think we deserved to be in, because we lost our conference championship.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Well what we meant was that just for Vegas the most?
- 21:26Speaker 3: Yeah, talk about both ways.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what it is.
- 21:31Speaker 1: It's a specific criteria, depending on which team we're talking about, Right can we and it?
- 21:33Speaker 1: Changes with each team.
- 21:35Speaker 3: And that's the load of shit.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Well, espn has one conference that they're invested in really and for the future that everything's behind it's behind the SEC Right and everything that they do, the ACC they're just using it to wipe their butt.
- 21:49Speaker 1: That was a monopoly move Right Acquiring the ACC for much less and that's a monopoly.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it really was.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:56Speaker 1: They keep it around for spare parts.
- 21:57Speaker 1: When we need to gut it, we'll gut it.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Right If this year's gets good ratings for them, so why would we want to give you more months?
- 22:03Speaker 1: Right, we'll feed you.
- 22:04Speaker 1: We'll feed you.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Great.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Now this is going on since since supposed Bobby Bowden turned down the SEC in 92 when in actuality it was an absolute ridiculous offer from the SEC.
- 22:17Speaker 1: They refused to negotiate.
- 22:19Speaker 1: So Florida said we're taking more money with the ACC Nothing at FSU In football national champion.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Yeah, nothing.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Nothing.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Florida state has ever been about anything but money.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Yeah, we could use Bobby's guidance right now.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Man Just miss him.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, big time no.
- 22:43Speaker 2: What about?
- 22:45Speaker 3: Watching these Christmas movies.
- 22:46Speaker 3: Oh dude, have I?
- 22:48Speaker 3: What do you got?
- 22:49Speaker 3: We'd like to rank them.
- 22:51Speaker 3: What do you have at the top of the list still?
- 22:54Speaker 2: Okay, obviously, home alone one, two elf, and you know, it really just been climbing lately for me dude office Christmas party.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Have you seen that?
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah it's so good, absolutely love it.
- 23:09Speaker 2: I caught a new one this year.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Ex miss with late and me stir.
- 23:12Speaker 2: It's pretty good.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I recommend it if you like romantic comedies like I do.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Me.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Yeah, what about you, jimmy?
- 23:23Speaker 3: Reno, bad Santa.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's a good one.
- 23:26Speaker 1: I mean I start with yeah, Christmas vacation no Gibson.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Batman with no Gibson.
- 23:33Speaker 2: It's a little scary for me, but it's right like Fred, I like Fred, claus.
- 23:40Speaker 1: What do you think about?
- 23:42Speaker 2: Fred Claus.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Yes, excellent, excellent.
- 23:44Speaker 3: There's a, there's a look.
- 23:45Speaker 3: There's a group of people that believe home alone two is better than home alone one.
- 23:50Speaker 2: What?
- 23:51Speaker 2: So I can explain that for him really quick.
- 23:52Speaker 2: So it's very, very high and watchability, which gives like it gives the perception that it's better, but overall ranking it's not even close.
- 24:01Speaker 2: It really drops off about 45 minutes into it, like the first 30 to 40 minutes hold up with one, but after that you kind of lose me.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Trust me, one is by far the better feature.
- 24:13Speaker 2: I.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Agree, I was just a lot of people.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I just had a break it down for me.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I thought about it, I go die hard, hard at Christmas, Absolutely Dude.
- 24:24Speaker 3: so I came out of some hard.
- 24:26Speaker 2: I was a hard no, forever.
- 24:28Speaker 2: But people, really, I just I'm open-minded guy and I like to hear arguments and I've been convinced that it might be Like the whole thing takes place at a Christmas party.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Right, there's Santa Claus is everywhere, you know.
- 24:42Speaker 2: He's saying ho, ho, ho, welcome to the party, pal.
- 24:45Speaker 2: I don't know, dude.
- 24:46Speaker 1: I think it's going away.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Well, let's say I used to be a hard no, but now I'm open to it.
- 24:51Speaker 1: He's literally going out there for Christmas, right, right, yeah on his trip out there to Christmas.
- 24:56Speaker 1: All that stuff happens Right.
- 24:57Speaker 1: So, it's just like take four Christmases, right.
- 25:00Speaker 1: They're going on a trip instead they got to go through all the crap with their families.
- 25:04Speaker 1: How is it any different point?
- 25:05Speaker 2: So I would actually make argument that the holiday Is less of a Christmas movie than die hard.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's called the holiday, but the holiday means vacation, holiday.
- 25:19Speaker 3: You know, I've never seen a Christmas story.
- 25:24Speaker 1: You talking about the one with Ralphie?
- 25:25Speaker 1: Never seen it.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Oh my god, do you serious in that weird?
- 25:29Speaker 1: I don't see how I could see the whole movie just by watching bits and pieces of their 24-hour rerun.
- 25:36Speaker 3: just like different times I gotta sit down and watch it with the kiddos.
- 25:46Speaker 1: The dad's the best character, tell me.
- 25:53Speaker 2: What's his face, marcus?
- 25:54Speaker 1: Scott Farkas.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Is that not Jimmy souls?
- 25:56Speaker 2: you got love elf, stop five, elf, stop five.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Okay, and you?
- 26:02Speaker 3: What about you, rena?
- 26:03Speaker 3: You got Christmas vacation.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I got.
- 26:05Speaker 2: That's my brother's number one.
- 26:06Speaker 2: I got.
- 26:07Speaker 1: That is number one.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yes, that is my bro a very close number.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Two, though, is probably diehard man.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Wow yeah.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I mean, dude, if you're Cal and diehard, and yes, yeah, what's the?
- 26:20Speaker 3: age where you should let your kid watch watch die hard.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Seven we talking about Talking about, you talking about.
- 26:32Speaker 2: The girl.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Well, no for your daughter, 25 for the son.
- 26:39Speaker 1: I'd say maybe about set, yes, seven or eight version.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Do you, would you watch the edited versions?
- 26:51Speaker 1: No, you can watch as intended, man.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Life's not edited, bro.
- 26:55Speaker 2: I don't have my children's life.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Even the, even the people, even the people, even the people in shy is so much like they figure out.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Life is a big old shit sandwich and everyone's got to take a bite.
- 27:05Speaker 2: The better, bro.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that's just.
- 27:07Speaker 2: That's just the way of life.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Hey, I know, reporting live Kalana states Well.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Merry Christmas big time.
- 27:15Speaker 3: No, I appreciate you coming by and Not gonna die.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Rick Scott's gonna take over from here.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Scale it towards gonna wreck some shop, all right, big time.
- 27:27Speaker 3: No, we'll talk to you next time.
- 27:29Speaker 2: All right good old.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Well, he's pretty fired up about the integrity of the orange ball.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Yeah, some people get, I get it.
- 27:40Speaker 1: They get heated man, I get a point, but I I wish you for me, I'm cool with giving all the kids that play on the team a break if they don't Feel up to playing in the game, right, they just got told that all the hard work they did in this season Was somehow lesser than everybody else.
- 27:57Speaker 1: You know, like essentially that's what happened when the committee said you know, because this one player got hurt, the rest of you that have been killing it and keeping this team undefeated, sorry, yeah, so I mean you know.
- 28:11Speaker 3: And as a fan I.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I'm not gonna hold them accountable, any the team accountable for losing the game.
- 28:16Speaker 1: If they lose the game and they struggle, I'm not gonna, you know the the fans reaction.
- 28:21Speaker 3: one of the state officially called it an Invitational invitations yeah it's an invitation.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Oh, I mean that they guarantee this was gonna happen.
- 28:30Speaker 1: You don't get screwed over like that and just have it.
- 28:33Speaker 1: You know, go away and I think you've seen Kids weigh their options and how much they really want to play in this game and some of them have been like Jerry and Jones.
- 28:43Speaker 1: You know that it takes them a week and then they're.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Now they're right back out there Trying to prove some stuff.
- 28:47Speaker 1: And you know, the, the kids that aren't playing, it's not that they're, you know, any less committed to football or the team or anything like that, it's just they've weighed the options of right.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Should I play for the in this game?
- 29:03Speaker 3: And I well you know we also had signing day.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Yeah, just happened what's?
- 29:08Speaker 1: speaking of Florida State breaking, just got a verbal commitment from a five-star offensive lineman, big Solomon Thomas, right for the 2025 class.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Good start to that class.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, let's hope we hang on to him, but it's a never know anything, kiddie pool right, but this kid's been a you know, he's been a fixture at Florida State.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Big time-looking offensive tackle prospect.
- 29:30Speaker 1: It's a big pickup.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Yeah well, signing day, man, it's coming, gone.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Number nine, number ten, depending on what, what site you look at.
- 29:42Speaker 1: You know, I think if they would have taken more numbers in certain positions, they probably could have finished a few spots higher, or whatever.
- 29:50Speaker 1: You know, that's only one method of restocking your roster.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I think now you start to turn to the transfer portal and see what comes after bowl season.
- 29:58Speaker 1: I Know they were hopeful to have a QB, you know, either DJ or Cam Ward, and decision by signing day or shortly after.
- 30:08Speaker 1: And here we are, friday, and it still really doesn't look any clearer on the front.
- 30:12Speaker 3: So so what are we doing with the names of these conferences?
- 30:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:18Speaker 3: I mean, when are we gonna stop calling the big 10?
- 30:20Speaker 3: The big 10 or the SEC, sec?
- 30:26Speaker 3: Now they're gonna.
- 30:27Speaker 3: They're trying to keep that up since the regionality of it.
- 30:30Speaker 3: But the ACC now with the Pacific Coast, yeah, 12 doesn't have 12.
- 30:38Speaker 1: No, what do they got like?
- 30:38Speaker 3: 16?
- 30:39Speaker 3: Well, you know, I mean you got to professionalize it, you got to break it off.
- 30:45Speaker 3: I like the idea chip chip Kelly brought up.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it makes sense, that's.
- 30:50Speaker 3: That's a long way away.
- 30:51Speaker 1: The first step is well, see, that's the one.
- 30:53Speaker 1: That's the one problem is it makes too much sense, right?
- 30:56Speaker 1: Nothing about this has made sense for a long time, so what do you do, man?
- 31:04Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you do?
- 31:06Speaker 3: bird watching Right.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Have you seen the big year I?
- 31:11Speaker 1: have.
- 31:11Speaker 1: We have no underrated.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Pay attention to high school football, right.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Unless you're in a state that allows NIL for high school, which is on the way Missouri does already, you have to be committed to an end state.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Look at that kid that flipped from Georgia to Nebraska.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Yeah, how many high schools that he play football at.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Three or four right.
- 31:40Speaker 1: That was it, man, that that kid would have been committed to Nebraska if not for the all-time mess up and recruiting by Scott Frost Like this.
- 31:50Speaker 1: This kid was born to be a cornhusker.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Dad was an offensive lineman in the glory years.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Uncle was an offensive lineman.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Is the offensive line coach currently right?
- 32:00Speaker 3: Yeah, but again like I said we're still got number one class.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 32:08Speaker 1: We're a state in top 10.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Top 10 signed 22 kids with 23 with the addition of Marvin Jones.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Yeah, you got your guy at a lot of spots in quarterback you got a good.
- 32:20Speaker 1: You got a really good looking tight end prospect, a couple good running back prospects, retackles, you know, on the offensive side of the ball you got a lot.
- 32:29Speaker 1: You got speed at the slot receiver Elijah Moore is a guy that you like is a downfield threat, defensive back, I mean even with the loss of KJ bold, and you signed three top 100 corners right.
- 32:42Speaker 1: You know four, four star cornerbacks.
- 32:43Speaker 1: I mean it's, you know, the only spot you struggled was the front seven right, and that's just.
- 32:48Speaker 1: We got a transfer portal for that you got hit that transport a lot.
- 32:51Speaker 3: They got to decide on which quarterback they're gonna get.
- 32:54Speaker 3: I guess it's DJ or cam.
- 32:56Speaker 1: It's what it's looking like.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it's what it's looking like, you know.
- 32:58Speaker 3: He's speaking of transfer portal.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Fam, you hit up that transfer portal big time.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Yeah, they got some some familiar faces.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I went to talk about, to get updated on that local boy I got it was was playing at Florida State, yeah, yeah big time, big time talent coming to Tallahassee, not only for the Knowles but also for the Rattlers, as Coach Simmons is capitalizing on that Great season that the Rattlers had and there's some good football are gonna be playing right here in Tallahassee, but FSU's done with the ACC.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Acc, yeah, they're out of there.
- 33:33Speaker 3: That's right.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Once we got, we'll watch it.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Fine, react to it.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Boops, tonight it's winter up parts.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Nope, well, and we'll talk to you next time.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Hey, what's our happy?
- 33:46Speaker 3: holidays everybody and Merry Christmas from the North Florida sports network.
