- 0:00SPEAKER_00: We are doing more than just serving our direct customers or clients.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: We are serving through to their audience.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: And that's where real significance lives.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Today, we're in Proverbs 31 because it's the 31st day of the month.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: S.O.A.P.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: observation, application, and prayer.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: And we use that simple concept to explore and seek wisdom through the
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: transformative power of God's Word,
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: specifically from the book of Proverbs.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: So, grab your coffee and let's grow in wisdom together.
- 1:03Well,
- 1:03today we're reading Proverbs 31,
- 1:048 through 9 from the message translation or version.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Quote, speak up for the people who have no voice.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: For the right of all, the down and outers speak out for justice.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Stand up for the poor and the destitute.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: That's from Proverbs 31 verses 8 through 9 from the message translation.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: You know, free enterprise is a beautiful thing.
- 1:35It gives everyone and anyone,
- 1:38regardless of background,
- 1:40a chance to build something.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: But you know, it's not all profits are created equal.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Now, let's think about that.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Even drug dealers are technically entrepreneurs,
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: but their gain comes at the cost of the destruction of their customers.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: And that's why Proverbs 31, 8 through 9 is so important in business.
- 2:05It reminds us that what we build should speak up and serve
- 2:11others,
- 2:13not to exploit them.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: We should add value.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: We should add significance, not extract it.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: We should promote justice, not manipulate the system.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: We should serve people.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: not just serve ourselves.
- 2:32So from an application standpoint,
- 2:35let me bring this a little closer to home.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: In my 60 years in the musical instrument pro audio industry,
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: I coined the term,
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: who is your customer's customer?
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: I often ask that question.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Once again, who is your customer's customer?
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Now,
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: I've been in one single sales channel all of my career,
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: except for a 60-day break when I went to work with Zig Ziglar,
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: but then I came back to the musical instrument pro audio industry.
- 3:13And in that industry,
- 3:15musical instruments and audio gear do more than serve the user.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: They serve the audience.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Now,
- 3:25That audience could be a congregation hearing the gospel for
- 3:30the first time.
- 3:32It could be a crowd at a concert and someone in there is
- 3:36hearing and healing
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: through the music that they've heard.
- 3:41It could be a school where the children discover their
- 3:45confidence on stage and
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: learn a new skill to play an instrument.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: Now,
- 3:51when a venue is equipped with excellence and a musician or
- 3:58sound technician
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: performs with heart and skill,
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: it's my opinion and my observation that lives can be changed.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: And us,
- 4:11whether we're the designer or the distributor or the rep or the
- 4:16retailer or the
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: integrator,
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: we're part of that concept.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: We're adding value.
- 4:24We're adding significance to people that most likely we will
- 4:30never,
- 4:31ever meet.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Think about that.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: When you look at your gear,
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: when you look at your product or service,
- 4:39think about who is actually going to benefit from this product
- 4:46or service.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: It's not just you.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: It's not just your direct customer.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: It's their customer and their customer's customer's customer.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Put it this way, it's the fans in the stands.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Think about that.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: Today's customer success code, know your customer's customer.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Serve through versus sell to.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Now, today's action points are themed who,
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: are you really serving?
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Action point number one is know your customer's customer.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: Simply ask who benefits from your customer doing their job well.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Action point number two, identify the ripple effect.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: How does your product or service

- 5:48someone else's life.

- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Do more than just deliver products.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: Help customers,
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: your direct customers,
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: serve their customer to help them serve their customer,
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: the audience,
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: better.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: Step up your training.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Step up your insight.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: Share and inspire.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Add significance.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: Action point number four is speak for the voiceless.
- 6:22Build policies and offers are products that make room for
- 6:28everyone regardless of
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: their financial status,
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: either real or perceived.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Think about that.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Lord,
- 6:39Thank you for the opportunity to work in a way that echoes
- 6:43through generations.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: Help me see beyond the transaction and focus on the transformation.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Let my products,
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: services,
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: and leadership serve not just the direct customer,
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: but the people they're trying to bless.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Show us how to build in a way that speaks up for the voiceless,
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: the ignored,
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: the misunderstood,
- 7:14and bring justice and value and restoration to every layer of
- 7:22the marketplace.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: In Jesus' name.
