- 0:38Speaker 1: Electric week of college football just took place. A lot
- 0:41Speaker 1: of highs, and I will say from personal experience, very
- 0:46Speaker 1: many lows. A lot of teams did not do what
- 0:49Speaker 1: they were supposed to do. A lot of teams have
- 0:52Speaker 1: now died this season, but we're going to focus on
- 0:55Speaker 1: the good, and the good is that busting and paid
- 0:58Speaker 1: on campus, has headed to Lincoln, Nebraska to watch a
- 1:00Speaker 1: undefeated Nebraska team take on the Indiana Hoosiers. Now tell
- 1:05Speaker 1: me this, Willie C. Why is Nebraska not ranked?
- 1:09Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm like glad that we're not ranked.
- 1:13Speaker 2: But when you look at it, it's like you look
- 1:15Speaker 2: at the entire, if you could bring up the AP
- 1:16Speaker 2: Top 25, like to me, just a team that is
- 1:20Speaker 2: undefeated in a conference like the Big Ten, it seems
- 1:23Speaker 2: like naturally that team would be ranked. Yeah. So I
- 1:27Speaker 2: have no clue. Like, I think it's more of like
- 1:29Speaker 2: what the evidence we've put out over the last decade
- 1:32Speaker 2: or so, especially in moments like this coming up. You
- 1:35Speaker 2: look at our schedule. We haven't beat like a lot
- 1:37Speaker 2: of like quality teams like Michigan State doesn't have a
- 1:39Speaker 2: whole lot of offense. Maryland's pretty much dead. We had
- 1:41Speaker 2: 16 penalties against them. That was like a barn burner
- 1:43Speaker 2: in the first half to where I think to myself,
- 1:46Speaker 2: like the, you know, the nation, the AP, the voters,
- 1:49Speaker 2: like they just don't, they don't respect Nebraska, which is
- 1:51Speaker 2: fine at the end and being like, Oh, we got
- 1:53Speaker 2: to put some respect. But objectively about them being ranked.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Like I have no clue. Cause I feel like any
- 1:57Speaker 2: team that's in the big 10 and it's five and
- 1:59Speaker 2: O should be ranked right now. Yeah. But we know
- 2:01Speaker 2: how these rankings work. Like it, The AP doesn't even
- 2:04Speaker 2: know what it wants to do right now because the
- 2:05Speaker 2: bias of the SEC is out, but it's hard to
- 2:09Speaker 2: figure out. The SEC doesn't even know how to bias
- 2:12Speaker 2: itself right now, if that even makes sense. Ole Miss,
- 2:15Speaker 2: shoe joint against LSU. Massive letdown spot gets pummeled against
- 2:18Speaker 2: the Gators. Gators, 2019 LSU Gators.
- 2:21Speaker 1: People were saying it's just like that, the same exact teams.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Gets pummeled by Mizzou. Mizzou loses the week before against
- 2:28Speaker 2: Mississippi State. Mississippi State kind of gets whooped by Alabama.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Alabama's really good, but it's like, I don't know. The
- 2:36Speaker 2: whole rankings thing, it's just kind of like whatever.
- 2:38Speaker 1: If we're sticking on the rankings, the thing that sticks
- 2:40Speaker 1: out to me the most is there are SEC teams
- 2:43Speaker 1: right now that are clear-cut, should be top 10, should
- 2:46Speaker 1: be top five. They look the best so far in
- 2:49Speaker 1: the five weeks that we've been able to see. If
- 2:51Speaker 1: you look at the Big Ten right now, there's not
- 2:53Speaker 1: a whole lot of teams that you can look at
- 2:54Speaker 1: every single week if handled business, like Indiana. They're in
- 2:57Speaker 1: a dogfight against Northwestern a couple weeks ago. Ohio State's
- 3:00Speaker 1: already lost to an SEC team in Texas who's ranked
- 3:04Speaker 1: number one. USC, you really have no idea what to
- 3:07Speaker 1: do with. They should have probably lost to Washington, which
- 3:09Speaker 1: we'll get into. And there's Iowa floating around where Ohio
- 3:12Speaker 1: State handles business against Iowa, but Iowa doesn't look like
- 3:15Speaker 1: the team that they've kind of even been. They are
- 3:18Speaker 1: still the same nucleus. They are the same foundation, but
- 3:21Speaker 1: they don't have the players that really gets it done.
- 3:23Speaker 1: the way you want it to get done. I look
- 3:26Speaker 1: at the SEC and I'm like, okay, I understand. I
- 3:29Speaker 1: can understand Texas being one. I get it because you
- 3:32Speaker 1: have the best win so far, but your offense doesn't
- 3:35Speaker 1: look great. Georgia, I think, has been as good, if
- 3:38Speaker 1: not better than advertised going into this year. Alabama is
- 3:41Speaker 1: the sneaky team of the year so far, the way
- 3:43Speaker 1: Keelan Russell's been able to dish it all over the field,
- 3:45Speaker 1: going against another guy. who was a Heisman type of
- 3:48Speaker 1: individual at Mississippi State. So it seems like, as of
- 3:52Speaker 1: right now, and we're only in week five or going
- 3:54Speaker 1: into week six, as of right now, it really feels
- 3:56Speaker 1: like the SEC is dominating the landscape of college football.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Do we agree with that?
- 4:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yes and no. It's like Mississippi State kind of loses
- 4:06Speaker 2: in a similar fashion like Iowa did against Ohio State.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Mississippi State drops one in the rankings. Iowa drops like six.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Like on my top 25, number one, I don't have
- 4:16Speaker 2: Iowa in there. But I still have Mississippi State. Like
- 4:18Speaker 2: if I'm going through the SEC right now, you got Texas,
- 4:21Speaker 2: you got Georgia, you got Bama. Like they're in my
- 4:24Speaker 2: top five because I think Bama looks damn good right now.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Bama looks, yes.
- 4:28Speaker 2: But then when you go Mississippi State- Mizzou, Florida, LSU,
- 4:35Speaker 2: like if you're going off of who's handled their schedule
- 4:39Speaker 2: the way they should and then you have like a
- 4:42Speaker 2: a tougher loss, like a more of a quote unquote
- 4:44Speaker 2: quality loss. Like we're obviously not talking about college football playoff,
- 4:47Speaker 2: but to me, I still have Mississippi state in like
- 4:50Speaker 2: the 10 slot instead of Ole Miss and LSU because
- 4:53Speaker 2: Ole Miss beats, Ole Miss beats LSU. Ole Miss gets
- 4:56Speaker 2: killed by Florida. Now Florida is a top 10 team.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Florida gets killed by Missouri. Now Missouri, it's like, okay,
- 5:02Speaker 2: they were, were they out of the rankings last week
- 5:04Speaker 2: or kind of like around 25?
- 5:05Speaker 4: They were unranked.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Because they might have been in like- They might have
- 5:09Speaker 1: said that 25 spot.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I didn't have them in mind, but then the way
- 5:11Speaker 2: that Mizzou performs, like Austin Simmons performs open heart surgery
- 5:15Speaker 2: on the Florida Gators defense, it's like, okay, maybe Mizzou
- 5:17Speaker 2: is for real. So really like the most common game
- 5:20Speaker 2: you kind of have is Mizzou and Mississippi State. Mississippi
- 5:24Speaker 2: State has an awesome fourth quarter comeback win. So it's like,
- 5:26Speaker 2: I'm going to just slot Mississippi State because if Mississippi
- 5:29Speaker 2: State was one of these other logos of the SEC schools,
- 5:32Speaker 2: they would still be probably favored in like the top
- 5:36Speaker 2: 12 area. So I went Mississippi State after Bama, Mizzou
- 5:40Speaker 2: after that. And then it was like Florida, Ole Miss
- 5:43Speaker 2: and LSU. I moved them down. I kind of just
- 5:45Speaker 2: did a complete reset on my board because I'm like,
- 5:46Speaker 2: all right, my SEC bias senses are like, okay, Am
- 5:50Speaker 2: I going to have Ole Miss and LSU still like
- 5:52Speaker 2: in the top 10? It's like, I mean, Ole Miss
- 5:53Speaker 2: got killed by Florida. Florida got killed by Mizzou. Right.
- 5:56Speaker 2: The only close game you have is Mizzou and Mississippi State.
- 5:59Speaker 1: It's like a weird game of rock, paper, scissors where
- 6:00Speaker 1: one always beats the other and it makes no sense.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Yet here we are week in and week out.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Then you got UCLA that's undefeated. They had a bye week,
- 6:07Speaker 2: but they destroyed, who was it a couple of weeks ago?
- 6:11Speaker 2: Was it- Nah, they beat Cal week one. But UCLA
- 6:16Speaker 2: looks damn good in the Big 10. They're undefeated along
- 6:19Speaker 2: with Indiana, Nebraska. Who else is undefeated in the Big 10?
- 6:22Speaker 2: Is that it? Yeah. Indiana, Nebraska, UCLA. Yeah, UCLA, I
- 6:26Speaker 2: think that's it. But it's like UCLA looks good, but
- 6:28Speaker 2: they're not like, Northwestern's looked good. Their only like loss
- 6:33Speaker 2: is to Indiana and they took them to the fourth quarter.
- 6:36Speaker 2: And we got Indiana as like a top five, top
- 6:39Speaker 2: seven type team in all the rankings. So it's like, well,
- 6:42Speaker 2: Northwestern has looked pretty damn good. They killed Penn State.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Back on that top 25, it is really interesting seeing
- 6:48Speaker 1: 9 and 10 with Ole Miss and LSU. LSU, as
- 6:51Speaker 1: much as that was a homer for them, they have
- 6:53Speaker 1: not been as advertised. They've had a lot of injuries
- 6:55Speaker 1: to key players that would put them in top spots.
- 6:57Speaker 1: They played McNeese State this past weekend, and yeah, they
- 7:01Speaker 1: buried them. But to have them in 10 is a
- 7:03Speaker 1: weird spot. And then what's weird for me this year
- 7:07Speaker 1: is it's really felt like the AP top 25, like
- 7:11Speaker 1: the people who are voting in the AP are making
- 7:12Speaker 1: a lot of like drastic judgments week in and week out.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Because I think they're having like a rollover PTSD from
- 7:18Speaker 1: what happened in college football last year with the Notre Dame,
- 7:21Speaker 1: the Miami, the BYU, like everyone that was kind of
- 7:23Speaker 1: like in it, but not in it, but kind of
- 7:24Speaker 1: in it, could have been in it, but should be
- 7:25Speaker 1: in it. That whole conversation. And so now I look
- 7:28Speaker 1: at this and it's like, why? Okay, Florida's dropping eight spots.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I understand it was like a borderline 25 team or
- 7:36Speaker 1: not a 25 team eight spots is kind of crazy
- 7:38Speaker 1: to me but lsu and old miss is kind of
- 7:40Speaker 1: staying up here it feels like there's a level of
- 7:43Speaker 1: bias taking place and then you look at a spot
- 7:45Speaker 1: like alabama who's at six and it's like that makes
- 7:48Speaker 1: all the sense in the world but like notre dame
- 7:50Speaker 1: is not going to fall back a little bit like
- 7:51Speaker 1: they were had themselves in a little bit of a
- 7:53Speaker 1: dog fight against north carolina so it is all very
- 7:56Speaker 1: interesting i think they're trying to find their footing as
- 7:58Speaker 1: much as we're trying to figure out their footing at
- 8:00Speaker 1: the same time Cause it is, it's kind of all
- 8:02Speaker 1: over the place.
- 8:03Speaker 2: But the way Alabama has looked and they are undefeated,
- 8:06Speaker 2: how would you, like if this, again, we're arguing thin
- 8:10Speaker 2: margins right here. It's all gonna sort itself out.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Right, you're looking.
- 8:12Speaker 2: But how would you not have Bama over a one
- 8:15Speaker 2: loss Ohio State team? Yeah, that's a great question. And
- 8:18Speaker 2: then it's like the SEC bias. Again, I know that
- 8:22Speaker 2: they have it, but they don't even know what to
- 8:24Speaker 2: do because Florida donkey stomped Ole Miss and they still
- 8:27Speaker 2: got Ole Miss as the nine team who just had
- 8:31Speaker 2: a bye this last week. And LSU, people are arguing back, oh,
- 8:34Speaker 2: this is a top offense, this is a top defense.
- 8:37Speaker 2: But then you look at who they played. It's been Clemson,
- 8:39Speaker 2: which we've seen how Clemson's worked out. Louisiana Tech, McNeesey State,
- 8:43Speaker 2: and then their one loss against Ole Miss, which if
- 8:45Speaker 2: they play that again, who knows? Now that everything has
- 8:47Speaker 2: kind of happened in that world, that whole Lane Kiffin-Ole Miss,
- 8:50Speaker 2: who knows who's winning that game? But it's just tough.
- 8:52Speaker 2: And then you also got to think about the Big
- 8:55Speaker 2: 12 and the ACC, those teams who are still handling
- 8:58Speaker 2: their business on their schedule right now.
- 9:00Speaker 1: And then Kentucky gets a win. They were ranked 24
- 9:02Speaker 1: going into this week. They're ranked 24 and they go
- 9:04Speaker 1: into overtime with South Carolina when they were underdogs and
- 9:07Speaker 1: now they're no longer ranked.
- 9:08Speaker 5: Right.
- 9:09Speaker 1: But Alabama, like other than, Kentucky wasn't ranked when they
- 9:12Speaker 1: beat them. Mississippi State is their one top 25 win, correct?
- 9:16Speaker 2: Who's this?
- 9:17Speaker 1: Alabama.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I'm trying to think. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:20Speaker 3: They are.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So yeah, and then there's like, I think Ohio State
- 9:24Speaker 1: being ahead of Alabama makes sense in the sense that
- 9:27Speaker 1: Ohio State has proven time and time again they reload.
- 9:30Speaker 1: They have firepower and offense. They really don't have a
- 9:31Speaker 1: lot of deficiencies. They may not be as good as
- 9:33Speaker 1: they have been in years past on the defensive side
- 9:35Speaker 1: of the ball, yet they're a team that we can
- 9:37Speaker 1: all kind of sit back and be like, most likely
- 9:39Speaker 1: 95 plus percent chance they're going to be in the
- 9:42Speaker 1: playoffs because that's the kind of team that they've been
- 9:43Speaker 1: in year in and year out. So I think they earn,
- 9:45Speaker 1: if we're going to look at SEC bias, they kind
- 9:47Speaker 1: of like almost weirdly fall into that category of like, yeah,
- 9:51Speaker 1: benefit of the doubt, benefit of the doubt. You lose
- 9:53Speaker 1: to a team, you know, you're dominating a team for
- 9:55Speaker 1: three quarters until, you know, Texas goes and plays backyard football.
- 9:58Speaker 1: And then you look at eight and it's like BYU,
- 10:01Speaker 1: like what's their biggest signature win right now?
- 10:04Speaker 2: Arizona? BYU bias, man.
- 10:06Speaker 1: BYU's in an interesting spot right now. They're in a
- 10:09Speaker 1: very interesting spot, like Texas Tech handled business.
- 10:12Speaker 2: But who out of the Big 12... Okay, so it
- 10:15Speaker 2: was going to be Texas Tech, right?
- 10:16Speaker 1: Right, it was above and beyond Texas Tech.
- 10:19Speaker 2: But out of the Big 12, who has looked the best?
- 10:23Speaker 2: My argument would be more Utah over BYU, but BYU
- 10:27Speaker 2: has still played well, like the big win over Arizona.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but they're also seven and a half point favorites
- 10:33Speaker 1: at home against Arizona. That's the kind of crazy thing
- 10:37Speaker 1: to me. It's like, yeah, that is your statement win
- 10:38Speaker 1: for the year. And I'm sure, who'd they play last week?
- 10:42Speaker 2: Because Baylor played ASU.
- 10:45Speaker 1: BYU, they might have been on a bye.
- 10:46Speaker 2: BYU played TCU this last weekend.
- 10:48Speaker 1: BYU played TCU, and we all know how Cody feels
- 10:50Speaker 1: about Jade and Craig.
- 10:59Speaker 4: That was impressive as hell. I ain't signed no waiver.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Happy Spooktober, boys.
- 11:10Speaker 1: If you're listening on Spotify or anywhere right now, I
- 11:13Speaker 1: believe it was... A butcher, a demonic butcher just tried
- 11:17Speaker 1: to kill Will Compton.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Luckily he got away.
- 11:19Speaker 1: He still got it, the fast twitch. But yeah, but T,
- 11:21Speaker 1: like TCU. So TCU is supposed to be great this
- 11:26Speaker 1: year or one of those teams that are going to
- 11:28Speaker 1: sit in that tier two category. I'm looking around at
- 11:30Speaker 1: this door being open, kind of scares the shit out
- 11:32Speaker 1: of me.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:34Speaker 1: BYU, BYU, like you get an 11 point win. Oh, sorry. That's,
- 11:38Speaker 1: that's Arizona. You get a seven point winning against TCU team.
- 11:41Speaker 1: That's unranked, but you're sitting in that eight category. Like,
- 11:45Speaker 1: Where are we? I understand they're undefeated and all that,
- 11:48Speaker 1: but you look at the top 25, it's like, if
- 11:50Speaker 1: Florida and BYU played today, where are we all probably leaning?
- 11:54Speaker 2: BYU might have beat them over the weekend.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fair because they got the psychologist, the psychologist game.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I'm just saying what Florida put on tape, like Ball
- 12:03Speaker 2: and Clark having collectively, what, 14 yards together? Like BYU
- 12:07Speaker 2: could have beat him over the weekend.
- 12:09Speaker 3: If you ask Summerall, that's exactly what he would say too.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Summerall is salivating. BYU would have whooped him right now.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Way better team than us.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Right.
- 12:16Speaker 1: But yeah, Ole Miss you kind of forget about. But yeah,
- 12:18Speaker 1: I think Utah is that team in the Big 12
- 12:20Speaker 1: right now where you're like, yeah, dude. They do really
- 12:22Speaker 1: interesting things. They say if you have two quarterbacks, you
- 12:24Speaker 1: have no quarterbacks. But the way they're operating with two quarterbacks-
- 12:27Speaker 1: with Bird and Dampier, extremely impressive. They're so creative in
- 12:32Speaker 1: their play calling. Does it work in the Big 10
- 12:35Speaker 1: or SEC or these other places?
- 12:37Speaker 2: Who knows?
- 12:38Speaker 1: But as of right now, the way it looks in
- 12:40Speaker 1: the Big 12, it's like, yeah, these boys from boys
- 12:42Speaker 1: right now, they're handling business.
- 12:46Speaker 5: Iowa State's running back, Florida. I think he was a walk-on, right?
- 12:54Speaker 5: He looks like a walk-on.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Damn, Cody.
- 12:56Speaker 5: I think he had over 200 yards against West Virginia. Like,
- 12:59Speaker 5: Iowa State's not really a team BYU can kind of see.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Yeah. And then they had Pitt at 25. It's like,
- 13:04Speaker 2: Pitt is undefeated. They just had a big win in Blacksburg.
- 13:06Speaker 2: They lost their quarterback for the year. But if you're
- 13:09Speaker 2: going to show them any appreciation whatsoever, this week would
- 13:12Speaker 2: have been the week to do it. Yeah.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Since we were at, like, this week, and we'll break
- 13:18Speaker 1: down all of Buston and paid on campus, being in Blacksburg, Virginia,
- 13:21Speaker 1: all that, and then the intro we do for this
- 13:23Speaker 1: week's episode of Buston with the Boys. But, How did
- 13:27Speaker 1: we feel about that Pitt-Virginia Tech game?
- 13:30Speaker 2: Which part?
- 13:32Speaker 1: I mean, Virginia Tech going up 14-0. They seem like
- 13:34Speaker 1: they have a stranglehold on this game.
- 13:37Speaker 2: No doubt. What's that?
- 13:38Speaker 1: Heinchel is the quarterback's name?
- 13:39Speaker 2: Bro, he was dealing.
- 13:40Speaker 1: He was out there absolutely throwing it all over the yard. Like,
- 13:43Speaker 1: Virginia Tech seemed like they were lost for a little bit.
- 13:45Speaker 1: And then when they go up 14-0, I sit back
- 13:47Speaker 1: and I go, everyone, everything that I've heard about Blacksburg
- 13:50Speaker 1: and Enter Sandman and all that, like, there's not a
- 13:52Speaker 1: chance Pitt comes back in this situation.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I was like, ooh, Pitt plus three and a
- 13:55Speaker 2: half was maybe not the right call for him. Yeah, yeah,
- 13:57Speaker 2: and ended up being the right call. Dude, it was
- 13:59Speaker 2: almost perfect. It's like, I'm going to have you guys
- 14:00Speaker 2: went in by a field goal. But the field goal,
- 14:02Speaker 2: I don't even know what the hell happened with that
- 14:04Speaker 2: field goal.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Yeah, so where do we stand on the bus? Like,
- 14:06Speaker 1: do we think that field goal went in? I don't
- 14:09Speaker 1: know if it did.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I just want confirmation that it absolutely did not go in.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Because I'm like sitting there and I'm like, oh shit,
- 14:18Speaker 2: they could win the game here with a field goal.
- 14:20Speaker 2: And he kicks it and it goes like over the upright.
- 14:23Speaker 2: The crowd is celebrating. Refs come out and do this.
- 14:28Speaker 2: The kicker starts running like saying that it's in. I'm
- 14:30Speaker 2: kind of sitting back like, I kind of couldn't tell
- 14:32Speaker 2: on the screen. I'd love to see the upright shot
- 14:34Speaker 2: that they usually show us.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Even Narduzzi and the team was like, did we fuck?
- 14:37Speaker 2: Yeah, they're slowly starting to celebrate. And I'm like, hang
- 14:40Speaker 2: on a second. They got to go back. They got
- 14:41Speaker 2: to review this. We got to see this kick because
- 14:43Speaker 2: who knows what happened.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And of all the places for this to happen in
- 14:46Speaker 1: the ACC where they are like, they were the first
- 14:48Speaker 1: ones to do the, the viewer gets to sit in
- 14:51Speaker 1: with whoever's in New York or wherever they're breaking down
- 14:53Speaker 1: these plays. Like we ain't going to talk about that.
- 14:55Speaker 1: We ain't going to look at it again. Cause that
- 14:58Speaker 1: is a wild, even the crowd.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Franklin runs right to his kicker, tells him he still
- 15:02Speaker 2: loves him. I'm like, Oh, Franklin doesn't seem, maybe he
- 15:04Speaker 2: doesn't think that he made the kick. I have, all
- 15:06Speaker 2: I wanted was confirmation. Cause we kind of casually ended
- 15:09Speaker 2: that game. And I'm thinking, Hey, that was bizarre. We
- 15:12Speaker 2: need a better angle than what they're showing us on
- 15:15Speaker 2: TV right now.
- 15:16Speaker 1: It's a very, uh, It just felt fishy. Felt like uncomfortable.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Like something was, something, the script wasn't going according to
- 15:24Speaker 1: the script, but it was like almost too close for
- 15:25Speaker 1: the script to be real.
- 15:26Speaker 2: You know? It just felt weird. Because this footage, like
- 15:30Speaker 2: this is the best angle. Well, you're off to the
- 15:32Speaker 2: right side. So, yeah, I have no clue. Now, if
- 15:37Speaker 2: he missed it, I am fine with him missing it.
- 15:39Speaker 2: But I'm just, we need a much better process at
- 15:43Speaker 2: the end of the game than what we witnessed. Because
- 15:45Speaker 2: I'm sitting at home like, we need higher uprights. Like,
- 15:48Speaker 2: so much gray area. Because he could have made that.
- 15:50Speaker 1: All right, we have this episode to bring you Neutral.

- 16:42Speaker 1: Back to this episode.
- 16:43Speaker 3: And is it- Football brain.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Kind of like the, has to break the plane for
- 16:47Speaker 1: a touchdown. Like the ball just has to go over
- 16:48Speaker 1: being controlled. Like if a tip of it is on
- 16:51Speaker 1: the inside of the pole, does it now count? Or
- 16:53Speaker 1: does the whole ball have to be over? Because I'm,
- 16:55Speaker 1: I find myself asking questions I never thought to ask
- 16:58Speaker 1: in my 35.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Years of living. How do you grade a laser doink?
- 17:02Speaker 3: And I swear, when those refs look at each other
- 17:05Speaker 3: off those close kicks, they're literally just waiting for the
- 17:07Speaker 3: other one to make their first move, and the other
- 17:09Speaker 3: one follows suit.
- 17:10Speaker 2: If only they got on the left side, like, oh,
- 17:12Speaker 2: that one looked pretty close.
- 17:12Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 17:14Speaker 2: They're celebrating their ass off right now.
- 17:15Speaker 3: There's always that pause where it's like, these mother effers
- 17:17Speaker 3: don't know if it went in or not.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, are you sure? They're all celebrating. Kicker looks
- 17:23Speaker 2: mad right now.
- 17:24Speaker 1: If Virginia, if they went up and said, hey, that
- 17:26Speaker 1: field goal is good, are we questioning it as much
- 17:30Speaker 1: as we would question if it was not in?
- 17:32Speaker 2: I'm questioning everything in my life.
- 17:33Speaker 1: It's a good question.
- 17:34Speaker 2: It's a good question.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Something to think about. Question everything. One thing we need
- 17:38Speaker 1: to start questioning. South Carolina, man. Out of all the teams.
- 17:45Speaker 1: We'll obviously get to Michigan and all that. There's a
- 17:47Speaker 1: lot of question marks. We talked about it in the intro.
- 17:49Speaker 1: But South Carolina leading Kentucky by 17. They led A &
- 17:54Speaker 1: M last year, 30 to three. They led Mississippi State
- 17:57Speaker 1: this year, 16 to zero. And all three of those
- 18:00Speaker 1: teams had the biggest comeback in the history of their programs. Like, JP,
- 18:06Speaker 1: you don't deserve this. I think I sent you a
- 18:08Speaker 1: text also that was like, hey, I'm thinking about you.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I sent him a voice up because I needed him
- 18:13Speaker 1: just to hear my voice.
- 18:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Voice text didn't end up going through. All right, maybe
- 18:17Speaker 2: I deleted it and didn't send it. But I was like,
- 18:20Speaker 2: You work too hard. I don't know what to say
- 18:22Speaker 2: to you. And I know somebody who's down like that too.
- 18:25Speaker 2: You don't even want to hear anything from everybody else
- 18:27Speaker 2: because we already know what it is. But part of
- 18:29Speaker 2: me wanted him to know that I do care about him.
- 18:32Speaker 2: I also like Shane Beamer. I don't feel like he
- 18:35Speaker 2: deserves it either.
- 18:35Speaker 1: We all like Shane Beamer and we have the smallest
- 18:37Speaker 1: sample size of anybody. But the time he spent with him,
- 18:40Speaker 1: it's not hard to get us on your side and
- 18:41Speaker 1: he did a great job of getting us on his side.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Because the team still fights for Like if the team
- 18:45Speaker 2: wasn't fighting for him, then I would be like on
- 18:48Speaker 2: the boat of like, yeah, it seems like you gotta
- 18:50Speaker 2: make a move and get him out of there. But
- 18:52Speaker 2: it doesn't seem like this team is just packing it in.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Any week, it doesn't seem like they're packing it in.
- 18:56Speaker 2: And they play Alabama last week. Dylan Stewart gets kicked
- 18:59Speaker 2: off the team or whatever it was.
- 19:00Speaker 1: He's fighting with coaches. And you think to yourself, okay,
- 19:03Speaker 1: Beamer's officially lost the team. Like this is where it
- 19:05Speaker 1: kind of all goes downhill.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Looks bad, yes.
- 19:07Speaker 1: And they still go up 16-0 where this team's like, no, sorry, 17-0,
- 19:11Speaker 1: where they're still going. And then Kentucky in overtime, dude,
- 19:16Speaker 1: two point to end it. It's like, what are we
- 19:19Speaker 1: doing out here, man? What is going on? And the Thursday, Friday,
- 19:24Speaker 1: it's like Lenora Sellers, like the back of your backup
- 19:26Speaker 1: quarterback is getting reps with the ones. So this kid
- 19:29Speaker 1: starts to struggle at all. And you're looking at Lenora Sellers,
- 19:31Speaker 1: like bro, two years ago, you could have gone wherever
- 19:33Speaker 1: you want. You could have gone into a quote, blue
- 19:35Speaker 1: chip program. And you decided to stay. Same with Dylan
- 19:38Speaker 1: Stewart and a bunch of other guys.
- 19:40Speaker 2: And fucking here we are. Yeah. Who are your next two?
- 19:44Speaker 3: Florida, bye week, and then.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Like, what if you beat Florida?
- 19:51Speaker 3: Tennessee's two weeks after.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Are the fans, do they want that?
- 19:56Speaker 3: Dude, I don't know what the fans want. I mean,
- 19:58Speaker 3: the fans are going crazy. Like, I don't think the
- 20:02Speaker 3: fans want it. I want it because I want to
- 20:04Speaker 3: win every single time I go out there. And so
- 20:08Speaker 3: we just, it feels like the most hands tied coach
- 20:11Speaker 3: of all time.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Where like, I, I feel for him because I was
- 20:15Speaker 3: telling Cody before, but just like beat writers with hot
- 20:19Speaker 3: seat coaches. I understand report what you got to report.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Like Beamer knows it. Everybody knows that you got to
- 20:25Speaker 3: win games or else you get fired.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:27Speaker 3: But just the redundant, like constant beat down just literally
- 20:32Speaker 3: for clicks and likes, like do a little bit more work,
- 20:35Speaker 3: do a little bit more research, whatever. But bro, I mean, literally, yeah,
- 20:39Speaker 3: I walked in today. I'm like, I don't know.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:43Speaker 3: I walk into church every single, you hear my voice,
- 20:46Speaker 3: every single Sunday and like 10 people just come up
- 20:50Speaker 3: to me and they're like, man, I'm so sorry.
- 20:53Speaker 2: And hug me.
- 20:54Speaker 3: It's before the service even happens. I'm like, you don't
- 20:57Speaker 3: know how much I need God right now. And man,
- 21:00Speaker 3: maybe that's the lesson in this whole thing. The South
- 21:02Speaker 3: Carolina Gamecocks just trying to bring me closer to God.
- 21:05Speaker 2: And just to explain that too, Demon, because I heard
- 21:08Speaker 2: you like chuckle on the, do the fans even want
- 21:11Speaker 2: to win against Florida? So with Beamer, it's like you
- 21:15Speaker 2: might sit there and people might say, solid coach, amazing
- 21:18Speaker 2: human being. They'll give you that line. and where they've
- 21:22Speaker 2: been in these blown leads and everything else fans are
- 21:25Speaker 2: there's a lot of fans starting to get on board
- 21:27Speaker 2: with find the money to buy him out but South
- 21:29Speaker 2: Carolina doesn't have the money right now to do the
- 21:31Speaker 2: buyout mid-year on Beamer so then it's like if he
- 21:35Speaker 2: beats Florida a team like Florida do fans even want
- 21:38Speaker 2: that to happen because now you have new life and
- 21:41Speaker 2: then it's like are we rooting for Beamer to stay
- 21:43Speaker 2: or do we feel the same on like hey we
- 21:45Speaker 2: do need to switch it up.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Yeah yeah yeah and from what it seems like from
- 21:49Speaker 3: the from the inside it seems like the number that
- 21:52Speaker 3: if you do fire him the buyout is 25 26
- 21:55Speaker 3: million the number that we need for everything new coach
- 21:59Speaker 3: new staff new roster is above 50 million which south
- 22:03Speaker 3: carolina just doesn't have 50 million laying around and r.i.p
- 22:08Speaker 3: one of our biggest donors passed away this year as
- 22:11Speaker 3: well so it's like So.
- 22:14Speaker 2: They're trying to check the will to see where some
- 22:15Speaker 2: of them are.
- 22:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:17Speaker 3: We're doing a lot of paperwork recently. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Trying to see if we got some.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Let's see, where are the funds at right now?
- 22:22Speaker 3: Yeah, but dude, I don't know. I mean, the team
- 22:24Speaker 3: shows up for every game. And I think that's what
- 22:27Speaker 3: makes it so painful too is like, it's not like
- 22:30Speaker 3: you turn on the TV and watch us just get
- 22:32Speaker 3: blown out. You watch us compete against literally every single team.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Top teams.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Doesn't matter if they're the first ranked team or the
- 22:40Speaker 1: 132nd ranked team. Like you guys always are competing.
- 22:43Speaker 3: And I just don't know what to do.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Even Bama, like that game was like a blowout on
- 22:46Speaker 2: the box score. But that, like you guys are clipping
- 22:48Speaker 2: them over five yards of carry. If Lenora Sellers was
- 22:53Speaker 2: like Camario, Austin Simmons, some of these other quarterbacks that
- 22:56Speaker 2: can dial you in, like that game would have been
- 22:57Speaker 2: a game. Yeah. I know, bro.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Because what do you have?
- 23:00Speaker 2: Three turnovers?
- 23:01Speaker 1: Two turnovers and one that ended up not counting because
- 23:03Speaker 1: there was a holding or some sort of something happened.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:07Speaker 1: And it's like you hurt for the kid too because
- 23:08Speaker 1: I don't know him personally, but just the way you
- 23:10Speaker 1: talk about him, I'm like, bro. And I always hate
- 23:13Speaker 1: it for guys that choose to stay, especially in this,
- 23:16Speaker 1: the landscape of college football right now, choosing to stay somewhere.
- 23:19Speaker 1: And then now we're in a situation where you might
- 23:21Speaker 1: not be the guy and the best move for the
- 23:23Speaker 1: school might not have you not as a quarterback.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Because even before the game, they're talking about who's the backup.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Cutter Woods. Cutter Woods, like coming in the game, they're
- 23:31Speaker 2: like take over, like he's ready to go.
- 23:32Speaker 3: He was out there the first two plays too. They
- 23:34Speaker 3: ran some like trickery type stuff. But this guy, Will Gunter,
- 23:38Speaker 3: he kind of put it the best. Hopefully it was Will.
- 23:41Speaker 3: But it was like, I've never seen a team like
- 23:44Speaker 3: play so well, our success rates are really high. He's like,
- 23:47Speaker 3: but 17 different players will make one mistake throughout the game.
- 23:53Speaker 3: And it's just like, they're not like, they're not playing
- 23:55Speaker 3: bad games, but enough players are having enough mistakes.
- 23:58Speaker 1: And it's like, yeah, the good news is, is Clemson's
- 24:01Speaker 1: fully dead.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Yeah. But it doesn't even like, I mean, yeah, there's gotta.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Be something like you look at the end of that
- 24:06Speaker 1: last game of the year.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Not only a wounded animal, but like possibly a paralyzed animal.
- 24:12Speaker 1: sitting there with this front two paws just trying to
- 24:13Speaker 1: drag itself somewhere and you guys get to go and.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Yeah, like ultimately I guess we could like end Davo
- 24:18Speaker 3: for good if we were to like blow him out.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:21Speaker 3: But that's just, that feels so far away.
- 24:23Speaker 1: I know, dude.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Hey, did you see the end of that Miami Clemson game?
- 24:27Speaker 1: I didn't see the end of it. There was a
- 24:29Speaker 1: point where when it got out of hand, I was like,
- 24:30Speaker 1: all right, I'm gonna head out.
- 24:31Speaker 2: So your boy, like I'm saying, I took the under
- 24:34Speaker 2: on that game. Yeah. The line on that was what,
- 24:36Speaker 2: 47 and a half?
- 24:38Speaker 6: Yes.
- 24:38Speaker 2: I believe, I think it was 47 and a half.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Miami scores. And the total, right, it's sitting, it's like
- 24:43Speaker 2: 34 to 13. So 47 points are on the board. Okay.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Miami punts it. And Clemson, like, they haven't been moving
- 24:52Speaker 2: the ball. The series before that, they're running, like, they're
- 24:54Speaker 2: getting the game over with. But I see Dabo on, like,
- 24:58Speaker 2: after they punted, I see Dabo just on the headset, like,
- 25:01Speaker 2: let's try and go score. Like, let's go score. And
- 25:04Speaker 2: so I'm like, God, come on, Miami defense, just shut
- 25:07Speaker 2: them down. And I'm feeling good about it. Like, okay,
- 25:09Speaker 2: they shut them down three and out. They get the ball.
- 25:11Speaker 2: The game's over. There's like under two minutes left, I believe.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Wasn't it, Cody? Yeah. Because I was like, man, what
- 25:16Speaker 2: a bad beat. So 47 points on the board. Clemson
- 25:20Speaker 2: pick six, bro. They get a pick six. I'm like,
- 25:24Speaker 2: all right, they're going to try and score. We're going
- 25:25Speaker 2: to go three and out. We'll get the ball back. Like,
- 25:26Speaker 2: this is going to be fine. The motherfucker throws a
- 25:29Speaker 2: pick six.
- 25:31Speaker 1: You talking about Tate Reynolds?
- 25:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Tate Reynolds throws it out near the sideline, pick six.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I'm like, God, no. Hey, have you seen- Get the antifreeze.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Oh, like a better juke than, well, Travis Hunter, he
- 25:42Speaker 3: had a crazy one.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Travis Hunter, that was nasty.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Brian Wesco Jr., the Clemson receiver- when he just took
- 25:49Speaker 3: that Miami guy's ankles.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Yeah, his soul.
- 25:52Speaker 3: That juke was one of the craziest jukes I've seen.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Bryant and Wesco, but when you see plays of that,
- 25:57Speaker 1: you're like, how is Clemson not doing with two stud-wide receivers, bro?
- 26:01Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 26:02Speaker 1: How could they not get it done?
- 26:03Speaker 2: Yeah, the QB is brutal. The QB's not that great. Yeah,
- 26:06Speaker 2: the QB is strong.
- 26:07Speaker 1: And he was limping around, too.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, does it stop?
- 26:10Speaker 8: It didn't say why.
- 26:13Speaker 6: Man, dude.
- 26:14Speaker 3: This is how you know South Carolina's getting to me.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Spooky on this bus today, man.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Can we now, hey, I know we had some conversations
- 26:30Speaker 2: with the top 10 QB list. Stop going up on
- 26:32Speaker 2: Austin Simmons. Stop going up? I'm speaking to the graveyard,
- 26:37Speaker 2: because there was some gray area.
- 26:38Speaker 6: Yeah, but there's... Words being put in my mouth that
- 26:42Speaker 6: I didn't say, but I still feel the same way
- 26:44Speaker 6: about Austin Simmons as I did last week.
- 26:47Speaker 2: When he was on the four slot, I felt like
- 26:50Speaker 2: more doubt.
- 26:52Speaker 6: I think there was more doubt. With Pate, my issue was, hey,
- 26:57Speaker 6: are you taking him over some of these other quarterbacks
- 27:01Speaker 6: in the SEC? If you knew what they were able
- 27:06Speaker 6: to do, whether it was last year, but Pate said
- 27:08Speaker 6: it was just a body of work this year, where
- 27:09Speaker 6: I was like, okay, then I can't argue with it.
- 27:11Speaker 3: That's good.
- 27:12Speaker 6: But we haven't seen him throw passes in a tight
- 27:16Speaker 6: game in a fourth quarter and win. The only sample
- 27:18Speaker 6: size we have this year is Mississippi State, where he was.
- 27:21Speaker 2: That was impressive, too.
- 27:28Speaker 4: Oh, shit. It's spooky on the boss right now.
- 27:32Speaker 2: We're in spooked over.
- 27:33Speaker 3: This is what it's all about.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Keep going, keep going, keep going.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I looked over at Will when that happened. You could
- 27:38Speaker 1: tell the first peak of frustration just took place. I
- 27:41Speaker 1: was like, can we not just talk about football?
- 27:45Speaker 6: But yeah, he was five for 12 in that Mississippi
- 27:47Speaker 6: State game in the fourth quarter. And I mean, we
- 27:50Speaker 6: saw that defense get diced up by Alabama. Like that's
- 27:53Speaker 6: not a good secondary. Do I think Austin Simmons can
- 27:55Speaker 6: be a top three, top four guy in the SEC
- 27:58Speaker 6: by the end of the year?
- 27:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I do think so.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Y'all got me.
- 28:01Speaker 1: He's handling business so well right now.
- 28:05Speaker 2: He was operating against Alabama. He was.
- 28:08Speaker 6: He throws some balls like from the left side. Like
- 28:11Speaker 6: it reminds you of Michael Penix at Washington where, that
- 28:14Speaker 6: spiral so tight and he is putting it on the money.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Like he is so much fun to watch.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I couldn't believe that Florida wasn't getting a whole lot
- 28:21Speaker 2: of pressure on him. Like he was comfortable back there, bro. Yeah.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Well, you kind of not, not super high. I mean,
- 28:26Speaker 1: I wasn't super high on Austin Simmons, not in the
- 28:28Speaker 1: sense that like the way Josh Pate put his top
- 28:31Speaker 1: 10 quarterback list out there. I was like, dude, I,
- 28:34Speaker 1: there's so many plays out there to be had on
- 28:35Speaker 1: this cat that statistically aren't interceptions, but you know, they're
- 28:40Speaker 1: easily could be just a bunch of interceptions on his
- 28:42Speaker 1: stat line. And for him to go out and do that,
- 28:44Speaker 1: it's like, yeah, I got to fall back.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I was trying to tell Cody, because Cody was kind
- 28:48Speaker 2: of like, they're up and even until the Florida game.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Like I was telling Cody, I was like, there are
- 28:51Speaker 2: definitely inaccuracies with him that he has. But I was like,
- 28:54Speaker 2: he's so, you can tell he believes in his ability to,
- 28:58Speaker 2: so highly, like he anticipates throws very well to where
- 29:01Speaker 2: the guy's not open yet, or the guy hadn't even
- 29:03Speaker 2: gotten out of their break. And he's dealing the ball
- 29:05Speaker 2: where a lot of college quarterbacks almost need the break
- 29:07Speaker 2: to happen, or they got to see the guy open
- 29:09Speaker 2: before they throw. So I'm like, that's where I'm like, I,
- 29:12Speaker 2: to me, Austin Simmons is good. Yeah, he can do that.
- 29:15Speaker 6: And I think my only argument against it was in
- 29:18Speaker 6: the fourth quarter, it seemed like things sped up for
- 29:21Speaker 6: him back in that Mississippi state game, where the margin
- 29:24Speaker 6: of error is, In college football right now, between being
- 29:27Speaker 6: a three-loss team and a one-loss team, you have to
- 29:30Speaker 6: win those close games in the fourth quarter. For as
- 29:32Speaker 6: dominant as Indiana was last year, Fernando Mendoza was the
- 29:36Speaker 6: reason they didn't have two losses, was just because he
- 29:38Speaker 6: was ice-cold on a last game.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Yeah. that we have seen do it. I just thought
- 29:58Speaker 3: it was a little early.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Cause even to Taylor's thing too, like the end of
- 30:00Speaker 2: the Mississippi state game to at the end of the
- 30:03Speaker 2: game that he just throws around the defender's hands and
- 30:05Speaker 2: they just don't catch it.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:06Speaker 1: For Missouri to have 560 yards of total offense against
- 30:09Speaker 1: that Florida defense.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:10Speaker 1: And then for Florida, how many rush yards did Ball have?
- 30:14Speaker 1: Like 13 for 43?
- 30:15Speaker 2: 13 rush yards. Clark had one rush yard.
- 30:18Speaker 1: They had 43. 13 yards on 12 carries.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:22Speaker 1: And like, dude, he is, up until this weekend, like
- 30:26Speaker 1: the best running back in college football. He makes guys miss.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And then office lines did a great job of like
- 30:31Speaker 1: getting him to at least the second level where there's
- 30:34Speaker 1: one guy out there on the island and he's dead.
- 30:36Speaker 1: So is Florida, like, is this the equalizer for Florida?
- 30:40Speaker 1: We're like, okay, they're not as good as we thought.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Is Missouri better than we thought? Or is this going
- 30:43Speaker 1: back to psychology and getting up for games?
- 30:46Speaker 2: I don't know. I think a little bit of both.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Like to me, I feel like this is, this could
- 30:50Speaker 2: be sound psychotic, but I feel like Summerall is so
- 30:53Speaker 2: fired up that this happened to that football team. Because
- 30:58Speaker 2: the image of Florida is like, they win a couple
- 30:59Speaker 2: of games. Everybody's patting you on the ass. Like you
- 31:01Speaker 2: start smelling your own farts. You become front runners. Yeah.
- 31:04Speaker 2: And some of them, they get their ass whooped like that.
- 31:06Speaker 2: I feel like some role is like salivating that this
- 31:08Speaker 2: kind of happened.
- 31:09Speaker 1: His press conference too, after the game, the way he's
- 31:11Speaker 1: just like, it's disgusting. It's disgusting. I hate like the
- 31:15Speaker 1: way he's talking. It's like when Florida does come back
- 31:18Speaker 1: from this, I mean, they probably, I mean, next week
- 31:21Speaker 1: they got to play. It's tough to hear this segment.
- 31:23Speaker 1: I know, dude, because you just think, like, that's the
- 31:25Speaker 1: worst thing for South Carolina is for Florida to lay
- 31:27Speaker 1: an egg like this and then have to, like, go
- 31:28Speaker 1: get back on track with South Carolina because Summerall is
- 31:31Speaker 1: that coach. Like, he just seems like the guy that
- 31:34Speaker 1: this is exactly what Florida need him to where we
- 31:36Speaker 1: get in November where it's like, look how they've ran
- 31:38Speaker 1: the table since then.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Yep, and if those running backs need some highlights... we
- 31:42Speaker 3: love to.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Give the formula's out there though for Florida. Like obviously
- 31:46Speaker 2: way easier said than done, but you shut down the
- 31:48Speaker 2: run and they got to lean on file. And I'm
- 31:50Speaker 2: not saying follow is not a good quarterback. I'm saying
- 31:52Speaker 2: you got to make him win the football game. I
- 31:54Speaker 2: was so much higher on file. Oh, and I was
- 31:57Speaker 2: way lower on Simmons. And it was just that what had,
- 31:59Speaker 2: what took place this Saturday was just, Just wild. You're
- 32:02Speaker 2: probably watching that and you're like, yo, Simmons is, there
- 32:05Speaker 2: are some that I'm like, holy fuck, bro.
- 32:07Speaker 1: He goes, the way I view things right now is
- 32:09Speaker 1: I just see quarterbacks complete a pass and I'm like,
- 32:12Speaker 1: why can't we do that?
- 32:15Speaker 2: Buddy, hey, yeah, man.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I know. It's almost like not worth talking about because
- 32:21Speaker 1: it's not.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:22Speaker 1: But dude, Michigan. Like, you lose to Minnesota in Minneapolis
- 32:30Speaker 1: for the first time since 1977.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Really?
- 32:34Speaker 1: The brown jug is in Minneapolis. And it's like, last
- 32:42Speaker 1: week when we played Iowa, I'm thinking to myself, like,
- 32:44Speaker 1: I'm really optimistic. Because the way Bryce was throwing the ball,
- 32:46Speaker 1: he had his best statistical game. Two touchdowns, 276 in
- 32:50Speaker 1: the air. I'm like, oh, this kid is like, we're
- 32:52Speaker 1: finally starting to evolve as an offense. And then this game,
- 32:57Speaker 1: Minnesota kind of marches down. Then they throw a pick.
- 33:01Speaker 1: We capitalize on the 30-yard line. But, dude, 100 yards
- 33:04Speaker 1: of total offense, 180 yards of total offense, three turnovers
- 33:08Speaker 1: that could have been legitimately, guys, could have been six
- 33:11Speaker 1: turnovers by Bryce. That's like we had a muff punt
- 33:15Speaker 1: that took place. They get three points off that. So
- 33:17Speaker 1: we muff a punt in the red zone, and we
- 33:19Speaker 1: hold them to three. The next drive on the second play, pick.
- 33:24Speaker 2: They get six.
- 33:25Speaker 1: The next drive, we have another pick. We had the
- 33:29Speaker 1: ball for 47 seconds in the third quarter. 47 seconds.
- 33:36Speaker 1: And it's like, I feel terrible for Bryce. I feel
- 33:40Speaker 1: like Michigan's failed him as much as he's failed at
- 33:45Speaker 1: being the quarterback. There's equal accountability that needs to take place.
- 33:49Speaker 1: The offense is like you run down the hill and
- 33:51Speaker 1: you're popping them for five or six and you're like,
- 33:53Speaker 1: all right, start to feel good. Then all of a
- 33:55Speaker 1: sudden there's the RPO jet sweep stuff, like getting cute
- 33:58Speaker 1: in the wildcat where you're just like, Beck, what are
- 34:00Speaker 1: we doing?
- 34:01Speaker 3: What are we doing?
- 34:02Speaker 1: We're running a rhino with an extra offensive lineman where he's,
- 34:07Speaker 1: their blocking seams are so weird because you're running a
- 34:10Speaker 1: seven man protection. But you're leaving your Rhino, who's essentially
- 34:14Speaker 1: your backup tackle, and he's one-on-one. You're not getting better
- 34:17Speaker 1: protection that way. You just have another offensive lineman out there,
- 34:20Speaker 1: and the edge is just a little bit wider. It's
- 34:22Speaker 1: like there's Marsh and Buchanan, and then other than that, run.
- 34:28Speaker 1: And there's just, you know, dude, you go into that two-minute,
- 34:30Speaker 1: and you're like, this kid, he's got all the talent
- 34:32Speaker 1: in the world. We'll see what we can do. And
- 34:35Speaker 1: he throws an interception that ends up not being one
- 34:38Speaker 1: because Minnesota calls a timeout.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Yeah, timeout.
- 34:41Speaker 1: And then the next play, he throws into double coverage.
- 34:43Speaker 2: And then.
- 34:46Speaker 1: On fourth and five, sorry, I'm getting spooked out right now.
- 34:48Speaker 1: On fourth and five, with the game on the line,
- 34:51Speaker 1: Hogan Hanson, our tight end, is in the middle of
- 34:53Speaker 1: the field. He's at the sticks. There's not a Minnesota
- 34:57Speaker 1: defender around him. And Bryce throws it away on fourth
- 35:00Speaker 1: and five. You sit there and you're like, dude, I
- 35:04Speaker 1: think of all the Michigan fans, I wanted this kid
- 35:06Speaker 1: to be more successful than anybody. I really wanted Bryce
- 35:09Speaker 1: to be the guy You pay him that amount of money,
- 35:11Speaker 1: he has that much talent. But there's nothing you can
- 35:15Speaker 1: sit there and hang your hat on with this team
- 35:17Speaker 1: other than the defense. Special teams have had issues. And
- 35:20Speaker 1: Kerry Combs, he's a special teams guy. He was one
- 35:23Speaker 1: of our coaches at Tennessee. He's a great dude, great recruiter.
- 35:27Speaker 1: But you just look at it and you're like, there's
- 35:29Speaker 1: so many issues. And you're just sad about it. And
- 35:33Speaker 1: when I text you about, hey, congratulations, and you try
- 35:36Speaker 1: to hit me back with, And I saw the box score.
- 35:38Speaker 1: I'm sorry what happened. And I'm thinking, dude, let's not
- 35:41Speaker 1: even make this. Let's just, let's just throw Michigan to
- 35:44Speaker 1: the side right now. Cause like by week, the whole thing,
- 35:46Speaker 1: whatever happens going to happen there, like the, like my
- 35:49Speaker 1: optimism of being a playoff team, like that's clearly gone.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Like they can run the table, but it's like, I
- 35:53Speaker 1: just want to see like who we have. Cause we
- 35:55Speaker 1: keep playing this way. You're not only like having a
- 35:58Speaker 1: new quarterback next year, which is the most likely scenario.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Like you're losing. your best players, your wide receivers, defensive
- 36:04Speaker 1: linemen are going to leave. Like that is kind of
- 36:06Speaker 1: the spiral effect that's taking place at Michigan. Unless the
- 36:09Speaker 1: culture kind of shifts in a certain way. So you,
- 36:12Speaker 1: you sent me that text. I'm like, dude, we got
- 36:14Speaker 1: to not even talk about it. Like it's Nebraska and
- 36:17Speaker 1: Indiana this week. Like that, that should be where all
- 36:19Speaker 1: of our energy is at. Cause I got nothing for
- 36:22Speaker 1: you guys. I got nothing other than, utter disappointment and
- 36:27Speaker 1: just like, we're going to play Penn state in two
- 36:29Speaker 1: weeks and I will be back on the train. I'll
- 36:31Speaker 1: be back on all of it.
- 36:32Speaker 2: I'll be smart.
- 36:33Speaker 1: We're going to win this game.
- 36:34Speaker 2: I'll fight.
- 36:34Speaker 1: I'll figure out a way because Penn state doesn't look great,
- 36:37Speaker 1: but I got.
- 36:38Speaker 2: A whole lot.
- 36:38Speaker 1: I don't have a whole lot for you guys on
- 36:39Speaker 1: a Monday where you just fuck, you know, it just,
- 36:45Speaker 1: I got to wait a whole.
- 36:45Speaker 2: Nother year, man. I wait 30 years. I wait.
- 36:50Speaker 1: And it's like, And next year, bro, there's going to
- 36:52Speaker 1: be some sort of– it's either going to be Tommy Carr.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Look how great he did in the back half of
- 36:55Speaker 1: the year. We're going to have a transfer quarterback that
- 36:57Speaker 1: I'm going to think is the next thing. We're going
- 36:59Speaker 1: to have Austin Simmons as our quarterback. And I'm going
- 37:00Speaker 1: to be like, he's the greatest.
- 37:02Speaker 2: We love him. And it's like, yeah.
- 37:05Speaker 1: It feels like the team– like Whittingham's losing the team.
- 37:08Speaker 1: I feel like the defense is turning on the offense
- 37:11Speaker 1: in a lot of ways. People just want to string
- 37:14Speaker 1: up this Jason Beck guy and be like, we're done
- 37:17Speaker 1: with him. Five games in, it's– It's not good, boys.
- 37:20Speaker 1: It's not good in Ann Arbor right now. But we'll prevail.
- 37:24Speaker 2: We will prevail. Calandria. Calandria is nice. Calandria looking nice.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Before we get out of here, though, can we talk
- 37:34Speaker 1: about Tennessee and Auburn?
- 37:37Speaker 2: Faison, Brandon. Not before we get. We still got the
- 37:39Speaker 2: fix of the G6, too.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 37:41Speaker 2: We got the graveyard. All right.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Quickly, Jack, I want to hear about Tennessee. Your thoughts
- 37:44Speaker 1: on Tennessee, Auburn. Faison, Brandon.
- 37:46Speaker 2: He gets benched.
- 37:46Speaker 1: You guys end up winning the game.
- 37:48Speaker 7: If you want to watch two QBs compete to be
- 37:50Speaker 7: the ugliest possible player product, it go watch the Auburn
- 37:55Speaker 7: Tennessee film phase on Brandon got bench. I think like
- 37:58Speaker 7: two minutes left in the game, George McIntyre's in, I
- 38:01Speaker 7: think phase on started seeing ghosts and he's young. Um,
- 38:04Speaker 7: and I think George handled it very well, even though
- 38:06Speaker 7: I think he's like eight for 10, like 85 yards passing, but, Tennessee,
- 38:11Speaker 7: we are good when it comes to running the ball
- 38:13Speaker 7: and our defense is standing up. But if we can't
- 38:15Speaker 7: get our passing game figured out in two weeks and
- 38:17Speaker 7: we play Bama, it could be a really sad Saturday.
- 38:21Speaker 7: So got to figure that out or else there's no
- 38:25Speaker 7: playoff even questionable for Tennessee right now.
- 38:28Speaker 2: I don't know who the starters are going to be.
- 38:29Speaker 2: We'll see. Maybe it's GMAC, maybe it's Faison, but... It
- 38:33Speaker 2: was gross.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Gross game from a lot of different standpoints. A lot
- 38:37Speaker 3: of penalties for Auburn.
- 38:38Speaker 6: They gave it away.
- 38:39Speaker 7: I'm pretty sure Auburn had more total offensive yards than
- 38:42Speaker 7: Tennessee and still losing the game.
- 38:44Speaker 3: But we got Arkansas this week.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Very winnable game. Arkansas. And then we've got to be.
- 38:51Speaker 2: That's one that you just circle like a dub. Well,
- 38:53Speaker 2: rap poison.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Where you're at and how you're talking, I'm like, you
- 38:57Speaker 1: can't circle nothing, dude.
- 38:58Speaker 2: You can't. Hey, what did I tell you on the
- 39:00Speaker 2: plane when we were talking about Nebraska-Maryland?
- 39:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you're like, this is a trap game.
- 39:04Speaker 2: It's a trap game. You're like, hey, we're good. I'm like,
- 39:06Speaker 2: this is a fucking, this could be a trap game.
- 39:08Speaker 1: But, bro, I'm thinking to myself, Nebraska's never been in
- 39:10Speaker 1: a position, respectfully.
- 39:12Speaker 2: No, no question.
- 39:13Speaker 1: You guys are not a team that can have a
- 39:15Speaker 1: trap game.
- 39:16Speaker 2: You're right. But I'm saying when you're 4-0, you start, again,
- 39:19Speaker 2: you see all the media's doing it. The media's doing
- 39:22Speaker 2: it with how well we're performing, whether it's PFF rankings
- 39:25Speaker 2: or EPA rankings, graphs, charts, everything else. You start smelling
- 39:28Speaker 2: it a little bit in that first half. i was
- 39:30Speaker 2: like go do it pick your.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Shit up i'm sitting there like we can't go here
- 39:34Speaker 1: dude we can't we cannot go to uh nebraska next
- 39:37Speaker 1: week luckily you guys got it done all right we
- 39:38Speaker 1: gotta get out of here in just a second but
- 39:39Speaker 1: we need our fix of the g6 presented by the
- 39:41Speaker 1: graveyard real quick i hope that god you came yes
- 39:44Speaker 1: sir fix of the g6.
- 39:46Speaker 6: Let's hear it what do you got play some music
- 39:48Speaker 6: behind them Weekly fix of the G6, and we're actually
- 39:51Speaker 6: going to start off with an FCS game that was
- 39:52Speaker 6: on Friday night. Idaho, who was winless, took down the
- 39:56Speaker 6: defending champs of the No. 1 team, Montana State. Crazy
- 39:58Speaker 6: ending where Montana State head coach Brent Vegan called a
- 40:01Speaker 6: timeout with one second left up seven, which let Idaho
- 40:05Speaker 6: have one last play where they scored as time expired.
- 40:07Speaker 6: But yeah, if Brent Vegan doesn't call that timeout, they
- 40:11Speaker 6: probably don't get that playoff or at least go up
- 40:13Speaker 6: and set up that final play. I haven't seen a
- 40:17Speaker 6: vegan screw up a happy ending this bad since I
- 40:20Speaker 6: saw Elliot Page on screen when I took my girlfriend
- 40:22Speaker 6: to Christopher Nolan's major motion picture, The Odyssey, which wasn't
- 40:27Speaker 6: that long ago, so I didn't have to think that
- 40:29Speaker 6: far back.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Next one.
- 40:32Speaker 6: Jamie Chadwell has Liberty playing some good football. They moved
- 40:35Speaker 6: to 4-1 after beating Delaware on the road 30-14. The
- 40:39Speaker 6: last time Liberty crossed Delaware's path was when George Washington
- 40:42Speaker 6: was crossing it on Christmas night back in 1776. And
- 40:46Speaker 6: just like that night, liberty prevailed. But instead of an
- 40:52Speaker 6: army of blue Hessians, it was an army of blue hens.
- 40:56Speaker 6: Shout out Joe Biden, who's a Delaware fighting blue hen alumnus.
- 41:02Speaker 6: Speaking of Commander-in-Chief, Navy and Air Force played for the
- 41:05Speaker 6: Commander-in-Chief trophy over the weekend. Air Force dominated from start
- 41:09Speaker 6: to finish. And on the last possession, Air Force QB
- 41:12Speaker 6: Liam Zarka lined up the cadets in victory formation to
- 41:15Speaker 6: take a knee to seal the victory. He took a
- 41:18Speaker 6: knee to win it for Air Force. That means two
- 41:21Speaker 6: weeks in a row, we got to see Air Force
- 41:23Speaker 6: One over Neyland.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Keep going, dude. Keep going. All right.
- 41:33Speaker 6: Shout out to Georgia Southern. They're a scrappy ball club.
- 41:36Speaker 6: Record isn't that good. They played Clemson and Houston, played
- 41:38Speaker 6: them both tough, but they got a win against Coastal Carolina.
- 41:42Speaker 6: They went into Myrtle Beach and got the win. Their quarterback,
- 41:45Speaker 6: Max Johnson, son of Super Bowl winning quarterback Brad Johnson,
- 41:49Speaker 6: he's in his seventh year, had a great game, threw
- 41:51Speaker 6: for over 200 yards and three TDs.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Nice job.
- 41:55Speaker 6: I just find it a little unfair when Max Johnson
- 41:57Speaker 6: goes into Myrtle Beach, he throws touchdowns, gets wins, and
- 42:01Speaker 6: has a fun trip back home. But when I go
- 42:03Speaker 6: to Myrtle Beach and try to Johnson Max, I'm arrested
- 42:07Speaker 6: for public indecency, kept in a holding cell. and unable
- 42:10Speaker 6: to leave the state of South Carolina until my court date.
- 42:18Speaker 6: The last one's kind of just a bonus. Non-G6 one,
- 42:23Speaker 6: but Virginia football got slaughtered by Florida State 38-7. Ashton
- 42:28Speaker 6: Daniels had five rushing touchdowns, and the Cavaliers couldn't do
- 42:32Speaker 6: anything offensively. But after that game, Virginia coach Tony Elliott,
- 42:36Speaker 6: who was an engineer before he was a coach... was
- 42:39Speaker 6: asked about moving off starting quarterback Bo Pribula and opting
- 42:42Speaker 6: for Holstein to provide a spark to an offense that
- 42:46Speaker 6: only had 205 yards. I would ask Elliott to heed
- 42:50Speaker 6: my warning on account of a story about a former
- 42:52Speaker 6: engineer who also thought livestock could provide a spark to
- 42:55Speaker 6: his life. Anyone know who that could be?
- 42:58Speaker 2: No. Tell us.
- 43:00Speaker 6: His name is Kenneth Pinion, or better known as his
- 43:03Speaker 6: internet alias, Mr.
