- 0:00Speaker 1: Wait, let me like my smoke.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Just let me be mean.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Leave me. That's been on my mind all lot's been
- 0:08Speaker 1: in my cup, and once I hit a certain point,
- 0:10Speaker 1: I stopped giving a fuck. I'm trying to stay up,
- 0:13Speaker 1: stay out till the sun is coming out. I'm on
- 0:16Speaker 1: my way up, way out, and I don't feel.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Like coming everybody. I'm the one, the only w O. Okay,
- 0:22Speaker 2: I e joined here by my normal cast and misfits.
- 0:25Speaker 2: We have the kid that knows more than you. Cole.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Robbie was that everyone's favorite red shirt Dexter. Hello everybody,
- 0:35Speaker 2: and the guy. I'm buying a microphone in Hero Phones
- 0:38Speaker 2: for Felix. No feedback today, no feedback today. Maybe we'll
- 0:46Speaker 2: see how the night goes. But boy, howdy, what a
- 0:50Speaker 2: bombshell this week? Gentlemen comes up?
- 0:54Speaker 3: Yeah, okay about the game. Cole probably knew about this.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I'm gonna say, I'm gonna give it to cold. Cole.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Do you want to explain? I don't really know, Like
- 1:07Speaker 2: I'm very confused out of how to put this. If
- 1:09Speaker 2: it's big news, if it's good news, if it's bad news,
- 1:12Speaker 2: as being someone right, as being someone who's been in
- 1:18Speaker 2: this situation before. I can talk a little bit about
- 1:21Speaker 2: it because me and Dexter have both experienced this in
- 1:26Speaker 2: key forage now, but go ahead and tell us what
- 1:29Speaker 2: is the news that came out this week from from Equinox.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Yeah, so we will get into a lot more depth
- 1:40Speaker 4: of this as we go on. Off the top, I'm
- 1:45Speaker 4: gonna say it is big good. Plus I don't want
- 1:51Speaker 4: to say bad.
- 1:53Speaker 2: It's a mixed bag. There are benefits and drawbacks to
- 1:59Speaker 2: what's gonna happen.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I pretty much overall it's a net positive.
- 2:06Speaker 3: I agree.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Basically, Equinox put out a article saying Altered is one
- 2:13Speaker 4: year old, what's next? The one year from the official
- 2:18Speaker 4: launch was actually yesterday, So happy okay, super.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Cool, Happy happy birthday to you.
- 2:26Speaker 4: My I logged into my YouTube dashboard and it also
- 2:30Speaker 4: told me that my TCG.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Happy birthday to you. If you like your birthday wishes,
- 2:38Speaker 2: go donate one dollar to our Patreon and we'll wish
- 2:41Speaker 2: somebody of your birthday wishes. Every Friday.
- 2:48Speaker 5: Was already called a loser.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's by nobody important. So continuing on, Basically,
- 2:59Speaker 4: this is a very short article saying that.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Actually I believe what I believe what that says is
- 3:06Speaker 2: Coal is the second biggest loser, which makes him a
- 3:11Speaker 2: bigger loser.
- 3:14Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I mean you lost the competition.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yeah, Like he's the second biggest loser, second only to me.
- 3:24Speaker 2: So who is the bigger loser? What an interesting conundrum.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I just had to That's I've always had
- 3:31Speaker 2: this like philosophical plunder with that the second biggest loser
- 3:35Speaker 2: only to you. So does that make you the bigger loser?
- 3:41Speaker 2: We're not sure. One day we'll figure it out, but
- 3:44Speaker 2: go ahead.
- 3:45Speaker 4: Uh water is not wet, but moving on, I would agree.
- 3:53Speaker 4: So basically, to paraphrase this act, and because we're gonna
- 3:59Speaker 4: dive deep into a bunch of points from it, they
- 4:04Speaker 4: basically say, you know, after talking about the last year, YadA, YadA,
- 4:10Speaker 4: millions of cards scanned. Going forward, with full confidence and
- 4:16Speaker 4: support of Asthma Day, partner of Equinox, we've made the
- 4:21Speaker 4: choice to take back Altered's distribution directly into our own hands.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Starting with Set five, Altered will be distributed through pre
- 4:30Speaker 4: order campaigns on game found, which comes with many advantages
- 4:34Speaker 4: for everyone. No set will be.
- 4:37Speaker 3: They unlike key Forge, they actually advertise it the way
- 4:42Speaker 3: it should be as a pre order. Key Forge is
- 4:45Speaker 3: still trying to do their campaigns as like game founds
- 4:49Speaker 3: when it's really just a pre order process. So them
- 4:52Speaker 3: saying that it's a pre order makes it a lot
- 4:54Speaker 3: easier for people to understand.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I think, well, okay, so key Forde has done this
- 4:59Speaker 2: for a while. Back the day key Fordge we did
- 5:01Speaker 2: the original Game Found. It was launched because key Forge
- 5:05Speaker 2: was literally just making its way back. Lots of bad
- 5:08Speaker 2: things had happened to key Forde right the algorithm was lost.
- 5:13Speaker 2: It was sold from FFG to two Ghost Galaxies, which
- 5:19Speaker 2: has taken it over. The CEO of Ghost Galaxies is
- 5:23Speaker 2: the old CEO of FFG, so he was actually quite
- 5:27Speaker 2: familiar with the quite familiar with the with the with
- 5:34Speaker 2: the IP I guess is the way I want to
- 5:36Speaker 2: put it. Yeah, And they launched this big Game Found
- 5:40Speaker 2: and it was you know, it was the game Found
- 5:42Speaker 2: that was going to save key Forde. And we were
- 5:44Speaker 2: told it would only there would only ever be one
- 5:47Speaker 2: of these game Founds, and then they were going back
- 5:49Speaker 2: to traditional distribution processes. That never happened. We went right
- 5:56Speaker 2: back to game Found again. So every has been since
- 6:03Speaker 2: has been on game fund now and there are definite
- 6:06Speaker 2: advantages to game found right you can give and I
- 6:11Speaker 2: do like the way they spun it as like this
- 6:13Speaker 2: is a pre order. Now with that being said, and
- 6:17Speaker 2: I guess I'll just start asking questions. I don't know
- 6:20Speaker 2: if you want to say anything more about it, Cole,
- 6:23Speaker 2: but I'm gonna if.
- 6:25Speaker 3: There's some more basic stuff to go over before we
- 6:27Speaker 3: start talking about what.
- 6:28Speaker 2: I'm gonna let Cole finish that and then I'll dive
- 6:31Speaker 2: in with some questions.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Yeah. So there are a couple of key points from
- 6:37Speaker 4: this announcement that are good to know going into it.
- 6:41Speaker 4: A lot of people in the discord and maybe you
- 6:44Speaker 4: listening to this, are like, why would they announce this
- 6:48Speaker 4: right before the launch of a new set? And it's
- 6:53Speaker 4: not really like a secret, but it was something that
- 7:00Speaker 4: you know, didn't get really spread around a bunch of places,
- 7:06Speaker 4: and Loki in the Q and A that we're going
- 7:09Speaker 4: to go over later does kind of mention it. Basically.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Part of this is I believe they sent certain things
- 7:19Speaker 4: to a distributor somewhere in Europe, and that distributor included
- 7:27Speaker 4: those things in people's shipments of altered stuff that they ordered.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Now I believe that is what happened. This is me guessing.
- 7:35Speaker 4: I honestly hold on.
- 7:37Speaker 2: That makes me I'm a little confused on that. So
- 7:43Speaker 2: like a third party distributor sent.
- 7:44Speaker 4: What Yeah, so basically there, I think they were like
- 7:50Speaker 4: demo decks or something that had the game Found symbol
- 7:55Speaker 4: on them, and they were sent to either a like
- 7:59Speaker 4: big store or a distributor or something.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Okay, now, and that's how the information got out there.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Yeah, so it got two people it wasn't supposed to
- 8:11Speaker 4: get to, and it wasn't even supposed to be sent
- 8:14Speaker 4: to other people. And of course those people started posting
- 8:17Speaker 4: pictures on I don't know, French MySpace or something, so I'm.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Sure it was like a Twitter or something French. That's right,
- 8:29Speaker 2: France is so far behind they're still using my space.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Yeah, you're getting.
- 8:35Speaker 2: A nice one.
- 8:38Speaker 4: They they had to come out with this announcement. The
- 8:42Speaker 4: other part about this is they do expressly say pre
- 8:47Speaker 4: order A lot of people are concerned with. I mean,
- 8:51Speaker 4: technically Kickstarter in Game Found are the same but different.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I look at same there are two different companies that
- 9:01Speaker 2: do the same thing. Yes, or I shouldn't say that
- 9:05Speaker 2: they do very similar things. Game Found Yes, leans harder
- 9:10Speaker 2: into marketing work and they take less of a cut
- 9:17Speaker 2: from what I understand, but least Kickstarter is just bigger.
- 9:24Speaker 2: They will take larger of a cut, and they don't
- 9:28Speaker 2: really help do any marketing. Like you either make it
- 9:32Speaker 2: or you don't. It's kind of how I understand it.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I personally kind of equate equate. Game Found more
- 9:40Speaker 4: like an indie Go go, where you have a small campaign,
- 9:46Speaker 4: possibly to where it's just however many people order this,
- 9:51Speaker 4: they're going to get it, whereas Kickstarter is a lot
- 9:55Speaker 4: more often seen as like if we don't hit this goal,
- 9:59Speaker 4: this thing will not you know.
- 10:02Speaker 2: It doesn't get funded.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Yeah, so a lot of people target audience.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Kickstarter is really really open when it comes to pretty
- 10:11Speaker 5: much everything.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Yeah, And game Found is more game centric.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Game Found does a lot of board games for those
- 10:19Speaker 2: of you who are in the board game sphere. Game Found,
- 10:22Speaker 2: I mean not that Kickstarter doesn't, but game Found does
- 10:26Speaker 2: like a lot of board games, right, they do. Game
- 10:29Speaker 2: Found actually almost Game Found is almost specifically games.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:36Speaker 4: And I don't know if this is like actually correct,
- 10:41Speaker 4: but from what I've seen and read, it's not super
- 10:46Speaker 4: common that a game Found will like not deliver. It
- 10:51Speaker 4: seems like something that more often is like a pre order,
- 10:55Speaker 4: like Keith Forge is doing, or like Alter is going
- 10:58Speaker 4: to do, whereas Kickstarter literally like a story every week
- 11:02Speaker 4: about something that you know doesn't deliver. I don't know,
- 11:05Speaker 4: I have not heard of that around you know, game Found,
- 11:09Speaker 4: but I cannot expressly say it doesn't happen.
- 11:14Speaker 5: Meaniky Startter itself tells you that as a creator, this
- 11:20Speaker 5: is not a preorder, and I think Game Found allows
- 11:25Speaker 5: for the environment that you can make preorders, which is different.
- 11:31Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:32Speaker 4: The other piece of the quick announcement they put out
- 11:37Speaker 4: here is they made a point to call out what
- 11:42Speaker 4: about stores and people worrying about their lgs and how
- 11:46Speaker 4: stores are going to receive this news was probably the
- 11:50Speaker 4: number one Yes. Yeah, and the Q and A will
- 11:57Speaker 4: answer this a little better, but it's basically they're saying,
- 12:01Speaker 4: this is actually going to allow us to work better
- 12:04Speaker 4: with stores. And one easy way to put that in
- 12:08Speaker 4: a frame of mind is with Asthma Day. If a
- 12:13Speaker 4: store wanted anything or even like say us at ACE
- 12:18Speaker 4: for our events altered corninerator or a wall, we had
- 12:22Speaker 4: to go to Asthma Day, and if we were like, hey,
- 12:25Speaker 4: can we get price support for this tournament, like it's
- 12:28Speaker 4: the biggest, you know, running tournament for altered Asthma Day
- 12:32Speaker 4: would just never answer us, like they would not respond
- 12:35Speaker 4: to emails you would get nowhere this is a store
- 12:39Speaker 4: would be essentially going directly to Equinox. So it's no
- 12:44Speaker 4: longer out of Equinox's hands for things like that. And
- 12:49Speaker 4: I'll explain it more in the Q and A that
- 12:51Speaker 4: we're going to go over, but there's an easier path
- 12:54Speaker 4: for them to be able to step in and solve
- 12:57Speaker 4: those issues.
- 12:58Speaker 7: So if people just done a lot of the same
- 13:01Speaker 7: thing too, trying to phase things out of Asthma Day
- 13:04Speaker 7: and more indighost galaxies hands so they don't have to
- 13:07Speaker 7: deal with them, well they still don't have op stuff, but.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Well hold on by phase out like since March of
- 13:13Speaker 2: this year, Ghost Galaxy is no longer attributed with Asthma Day. Yeah,
- 13:17Speaker 2: so for those of you who don't know, Asthma Day
- 13:20Speaker 2: is kind of notorious for especially as I Asthma A Europe.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I don't have a ton of bad things to say
- 13:28Speaker 2: about because I've heard them do things and stuff and better.
- 13:33Speaker 2: I'm not sure if Asthma DA Europe is just better
- 13:36Speaker 2: or what the case is. But ASTHMAE North America is
- 13:41Speaker 2: absolutely atrocious. They are. You literally have stores who will
- 13:47Speaker 2: not buy something because they have to go through Asthma Day.
- 13:50Speaker 2: They would even if it's the like white hot product,
- 13:54Speaker 2: if it says Asthma Day, they just don't have any
- 13:57Speaker 2: interest in having anything to do with them.
- 14:01Speaker 3: It's very heavy corporate too well. I mentioned it before
- 14:06Speaker 3: in the.
- 14:06Speaker 5: Discord, Like Julio from Ages, pretty much OPI was gate
- 14:12Speaker 5: keeper gate keeped to products. So if he didn't buy
- 14:16Speaker 5: specific amounts of cases, it wouldn't even be allowed to
- 14:19Speaker 5: get OPI.
- 14:20Speaker 2: And that's and that's the big thing. Asthmade does have
- 14:23Speaker 2: their tier systems, right, So if you are not of
- 14:27Speaker 2: specific tiers, you basically, like Cole just said, you probably
- 14:31Speaker 2: weren't getting an answer because you weren't one of their
- 14:33Speaker 2: top clients and then you fell way down to the
- 14:36Speaker 2: bottom and more likely than not, you just never got
- 14:40Speaker 2: an answer, right. So, and this is the same thing
- 14:44Speaker 2: with key Forge too. Key Forge, like I said, since
- 14:48Speaker 2: the March of this year, is as severed ties with
- 14:51Speaker 2: Asthma DAE as well, because it was extraordinarily difficult to
- 14:55Speaker 2: do anything with them. Because it was Asthma dae multiple.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I guess the only way I can say it is botches. Right. First,
- 15:05Speaker 2: you know, it's the big first pre release of the
- 15:09Speaker 2: first set coming out of key Forde since the algorithm
- 15:12Speaker 2: was lost and all this stuff, and basically Asthmada and
- 15:16Speaker 2: they were running this big like you know, pre release
- 15:22Speaker 2: event for the set, and they completely botched it. People
- 15:27Speaker 2: were sent wrong amounts. Some stores were sent one pre
- 15:31Speaker 2: release kit, meaning they got sent one kit it was
- 15:37Speaker 2: three decks in one kit. Well, you need one of
- 15:41Speaker 2: those for each player. If you get one, what do
- 15:47Speaker 2: you do? Yeah, I think like you can't run events
- 15:51Speaker 2: off that, you know.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I think this part is actually a very important part.
- 15:57Speaker 4: And I mean, honestly, disclaimer are going to be shitting
- 16:01Speaker 4: on Asthma Day a little bit here.
- 16:04Speaker 2: So here's the problem is Asthmada does it themselves, right, Yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 2: just starting, I mean talk to go, talk to your
- 16:10Speaker 2: local game store, and like unless they're on that top
- 16:14Speaker 2: end that I think it's the platinum tier for Asthma Day,
- 16:17Speaker 2: Like they're just like they have no interest in doing
- 16:22Speaker 2: anything for any store that's not buying just abundantly just
- 16:27Speaker 2: huge amounts of product for them, like they just won't.
- 16:29Speaker 2: They won't, they don't and they don't care, right, and
- 16:33Speaker 2: good on them because they have enough. I guess they
- 16:35Speaker 2: have enough people buying from them that like, they don't
- 16:39Speaker 2: have to care about you. But I mean, this is
- 16:41Speaker 2: kind of a what we're talking about here is kind
- 16:44Speaker 2: of a song as old as time when it comes
- 16:46Speaker 2: down to Asthma day, right.
- 16:50Speaker 4: So I I do think that My point is that
- 16:53Speaker 4: I think this part is important because people who haven't
- 16:57Speaker 4: experienced this end or maybe don't know about it, they
- 17:01Speaker 4: are more worried than people who do. So things that
- 17:05Speaker 4: you mentioned happening happen a ton with altered because it's
- 17:10Speaker 4: not like one of Asmade's big, you know babies that
- 17:14Speaker 4: they are starting to push. We've had late shipments, incorrect shipments.
- 17:20Speaker 4: I know of at least like three or four stores
- 17:24Speaker 4: that received a Tumult kit for last season instead of
- 17:29Speaker 4: this season.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 17:32Speaker 4: The thing that Felix was mention mentioning about aegis is
- 17:37Speaker 4: not supposed to happen like Equinox's thing is they understand
- 17:42Speaker 4: this is a more niche or whatever you want to
- 17:44Speaker 4: call it. TCG. It's not one of the Big Three.
- 17:47Speaker 4: They have no limits personally on how many players the
- 17:51Speaker 4: store needs to run a Tumult or to do OP
- 17:55Speaker 4: or anything like that. From every time I have asked
- 17:59Speaker 4: for clarification and double checking that stuff is supposed to
- 18:03Speaker 4: be free to a store, especially the op boosters, and
- 18:08Speaker 4: then I believe even the Tumult kit, they have to
- 18:12Speaker 4: be a store that's you know, registered with Asthma Day
- 18:16Speaker 4: running in its own Yeah.
- 18:18Speaker 2: The other thing about that too, And now that you
- 18:21Speaker 2: said that Asthma Day, I don't know if it was
- 18:24Speaker 2: an ASTHM Day or an FFG thing, but since the
- 18:28Speaker 2: dawn of time, Asthma Day hates anything that's online, they
- 18:37Speaker 2: will not support. I couldn't remember if it was an
- 18:41Speaker 2: Asthma DA thing or if it was an FFG thing
- 18:44Speaker 2: because Asthma Day bought out f FG. But like this
- 18:47Speaker 2: whole thing with BGA, like I would not be surprised
- 18:51Speaker 2: if they're like, we are not supporting this at all. Yeah.
- 18:56Speaker 4: No, they are very uh not into supporting online. And
- 19:01Speaker 4: we were told that multiple different times, and it was
- 19:04Speaker 4: Equinox who was really trying to push for any of
- 19:08Speaker 4: the online support when we were first seeing about providing
- 19:12Speaker 4: Adventure Pass for online tournaments. As Meday was like no, no, no,
- 19:17Speaker 4: no no, And finally on the side of Equinox, they
- 19:21Speaker 4: pushed through and found a way for it to work.
- 19:26Speaker 4: So really, the easiest way to summarize as Miday as
- 19:30Speaker 4: a company is there's a lot of older white dudes
- 19:34Speaker 4: that are in high up management and they only care
- 19:39Speaker 4: about their lifestyle board games. And that's like the huge
- 19:43Speaker 4: focus for as ME Day. So anything like key Forge
- 19:47Speaker 4: or Altered or any like something that's not a lifestyle
- 19:52Speaker 4: board game, the employees that care about those projects at
- 19:56Speaker 4: Asthma Day have to fight tooth and nail for those
- 20:00Speaker 4: to get representation. And I can like confidently say this
- 20:05Speaker 4: because I've had friends who have worked at Asthma Day
- 20:09Speaker 4: and like I've had friends who've worked on KeyForge, and
- 20:12Speaker 4: like they loved the game, they never wanted, you know
- 20:15Speaker 4: it to go away from Asthma Day. But they are
- 20:19Speaker 4: just so hyper focused on lifestyle board games that they
- 20:25Speaker 4: don't pay attention to any other games. I mean, now
- 20:28Speaker 4: that Star Wars are successful, yeah, now that Star Wars
- 20:31Speaker 4: is successful though, they're paying more attention to that, and
- 20:35Speaker 4: they started outing Altered for Star Wars, so that was great.
- 20:39Speaker 4: I have experienced that first hand, so.
- 20:43Speaker 2: I mean give it time. I mean, I don't know
- 20:45Speaker 2: how many of you remember Star Wars Destiny. It's yeah, yeah,
- 20:51Speaker 2: it's only a matter of time before they're like, this
- 20:54Speaker 2: game's too expensive to produce, We're not going to produce
- 20:56Speaker 2: it anymore because literally, I mean, I I gonna put
- 21:00Speaker 2: it this way because it's the only way I really
- 21:01Speaker 2: know how to explain it. As what Cole said is
- 21:05Speaker 2: not wrong either. It is a bunch of older white
- 21:07Speaker 2: dudes more than likely, but like.
- 21:10Speaker 4: They're well, I've I've met them, so can.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Oh, Okay, I have not, so I cannot confirm. I
- 21:18Speaker 2: mean I've I've worked with FFG and asthmade people since
- 21:23Speaker 2: key Forge came out, so I kind of understand the
- 21:29Speaker 2: the whole, Like yep, they they they literally have to
- 21:32Speaker 2: fight and some of like the decision making that goes
- 21:35Speaker 2: into it. So and it's and it is incredibly frustrating.
- 21:42Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know how long I give Star
- 21:44Speaker 2: Wars like it's real good right now, but as soon
- 21:46Speaker 2: as there's something like they don't like on the on
- 21:49Speaker 2: the ticket bill or you know, some are the cost
- 21:51Speaker 2: the cost of the game or whatever the effect may be,
- 21:54Speaker 2: like they'll they'll deep six it tomorrow, right, I.
- 21:57Speaker 5: Mean I wonder although it is good maybe getting ahead
- 22:01Speaker 5: a little bit here is.
- 22:04Speaker 4: If BGA ever gets.
- 22:06Speaker 5: Affected or not because it does relung to yesterday, that
- 22:10Speaker 5: was my options.
- 22:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think so. Because it is partly owned
- 22:18Speaker 4: by Asthma Day, I think so. I don't know if
- 22:23Speaker 4: this is true, but Asthma Day is still a fakeholder
- 22:29Speaker 4: in Equinox as far as I know. So they're not
- 22:34Speaker 4: going to want to purposely have the game fail by
- 22:38Speaker 4: doing something like oh, we're going to bang you from
- 22:40Speaker 4: board game Marine an hour.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Or when they ban it, But like, maybe there's not
- 22:44Speaker 2: as much focus on making sure that like new sects
- 22:46Speaker 2: get implemented as quickly or as readily.
- 22:49Speaker 3: As not even then though, yeah, that pretty much all
- 22:52Speaker 3: volunteer works.
- 22:53Speaker 2: It is all volunteer work, yes, but I mean, I'm
- 22:56Speaker 2: sure when it comes out to doling out see, I
- 22:58Speaker 2: guess I don't know how that works. Like are you
- 23:01Speaker 2: given a project to like, oh, yes, I'd like to volunteer,
- 23:04Speaker 2: and then you're given something to like, oh, well do
- 23:07Speaker 2: this or like is it Oh I want to I
- 23:11Speaker 2: want to write script for this game and you just
- 23:14Speaker 2: can do it.
- 23:16Speaker 4: I've Vincent has they explained it a couple times. From
- 23:21Speaker 4: what I remember him saying is there's a couple different
- 23:25Speaker 4: like ways that game designers work on Board Game Arena.
- 23:29Speaker 4: Sometimes they're contracted by the company to make, you know,
- 23:33Speaker 4: a really good implementation of the game. Sometimes they're just
- 23:38Speaker 4: more fans and they get certain kinds of kickbacks from
- 23:42Speaker 4: Board Game Arena itself. I think Equinox, as far as
- 23:48Speaker 4: you know I've experienced, is very heavily involved with the
- 23:53Speaker 4: implementation on BGA, and that includes like Loki and Pierre,
- 24:00Speaker 4: and I think Nathaniel on the team, and the dev
- 24:04Speaker 4: for Altered is great Vincent, as I mentioned, and I
- 24:08Speaker 4: think there's another person, but I don't really hear from
- 24:12Speaker 4: him on anything, so I don't know him by name.
- 24:14Speaker 4: But yeah, I think BGA will be fine. And they
- 24:19Speaker 4: do call out like specifically more collaborations with or Game Arena,
- 24:26Speaker 4: so it's it's definitely in the works. And now that
- 24:31Speaker 4: Asthma Day doesn't have their you know, foot on the
- 24:35Speaker 4: online part of it, it should be a lot more open.
- 24:41Speaker 4: And my hope honestly is that I mean, maybe I
- 24:46Speaker 4: can create like a digital teo or something on the
- 24:51Speaker 4: Altered website, and then just run all of my events
- 24:54Speaker 4: myself and everything, because it's a pain to go through
- 24:59Speaker 4: a third party for both sides, Like I have to
- 25:02Speaker 4: send information to Julio, he has to do everything on
- 25:05Speaker 4: his side, and he's already running his store and doing
- 25:08Speaker 4: all of that, so I appreciate him helping out, but
- 25:12Speaker 4: it's it's a lot of extra work.
- 25:16Speaker 2: So I guess we'll start with some of the positives. Right.
- 25:21Speaker 2: This will allow game stores, which is where you're going
- 25:26Speaker 2: to make a majority of your gains in player base,
- 25:32Speaker 2: gives them more of an ability to get access to
- 25:38Speaker 2: get access Altered, and get support for organized player and
- 25:46Speaker 2: local play events. Right, yes, yep.
- 25:50Speaker 4: So this is kind of where it was unfortunate that
- 25:55Speaker 4: they had to put out an announcement ahead of time,
- 25:59Speaker 4: because now pulling up the Q and A, I guess
- 26:04Speaker 4: like everything was on fire and people were running around
- 26:08Speaker 4: screaming in the French discord or something, so Loki hopped
- 26:13Speaker 4: into a voice channel to calm them all down, and
- 26:16Speaker 4: then someone over there transcribed it into English. So shout
- 26:22Speaker 4: out to that person. I am sorry, I can't remember
- 26:27Speaker 4: who it was currently but maybe Dexter can find it. Anyways,
- 26:31Speaker 4: there's a very important part. And I think if you
- 26:34Speaker 4: take like nothing else from this entire episode than this
- 26:38Speaker 4: part right here, I think I think you'll be good.
- 26:41Speaker 3: So was Martin p E with the top pat accent?
- 26:48Speaker 3: You are?
- 26:49Speaker 4: Yeah, Martin? Yeah, he plays in online tournaments pretty often,
- 26:52Speaker 4: so shout out to Martin. So I'll just read this
- 26:56Speaker 4: real quick. The objective of the new independent Distribute US
- 27:00Speaker 4: approach is to improve access to altered products for both
- 27:04Speaker 4: LGSS and players. To start, lgs's will have access to
- 27:08Speaker 4: pre orders before players through a dedicated platform separate from
- 27:13Speaker 4: game found. They will also have new, specific new offer
- 27:17Speaker 4: specific to shops and not available to players directly. The
- 27:21Speaker 4: model has been developed to avoid disadvantaging lgs's in the US.
- 27:29Speaker 4: LGSS will be able to order directly from Equinox, which
- 27:32Speaker 4: should help build local communities. In the past, some shops
- 27:37Speaker 4: have had difficulties sourcing products and receiving materials needed to
- 27:40Speaker 4: maintain and maintain and grow in person play. And then
- 27:45Speaker 4: it goes on to talk about like Asia and other things.
- 27:48Speaker 4: But this is yeah that you brought up a very
- 27:52Speaker 4: good example in Star Wars Destiny. I did the road
- 27:58Speaker 4: shows while some of them I didn't do all of
- 28:01Speaker 4: them in the whole country for Star Wars Unlimitted, and
- 28:06Speaker 4: I literally had shops that told me, like, I am
- 28:11Speaker 4: not going to risk it after Destiny, And that was
- 28:16Speaker 4: like another impression of what you know Asthma Day has
- 28:21Speaker 4: done and how LGS is feel so exclusive products to
- 28:26Speaker 4: lgs's and their own ordering system, and in my eyes,
- 28:33Speaker 4: it should be a lot less wasteful. And I'm I'm
- 28:40Speaker 4: the last person to say that, Like I want people
- 28:43Speaker 4: to be able to make money off of a card game,
- 28:46Speaker 4: Like I love how affordable Altered is and how it's
- 28:50Speaker 4: not like one of those ones where you have to
- 28:52Speaker 4: spend a ton of money to play.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Well, yeah, but ninety percent of the rayres that you
- 28:57Speaker 3: want you can get on the marketplace for like twenty sense.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Now, yeah, but that is also not a great thing
- 29:05Speaker 4: right now. We do have an over abundance of goods, ye,
- 29:11Speaker 4: So I think it does need to come up a
- 29:14Speaker 4: little bit, and this model should hopefully make it so
- 29:20Speaker 4: stories are not just sitting on boxes of Beyond the
- 29:23Speaker 4: Gates still a year into the game. That's that's the hope.
- 29:31Speaker 2: So I guess getting into the Game Found and I
- 29:34Speaker 2: don't know. I I'm gonna I I briefly read over
- 29:41Speaker 2: the Q and A. Did they make any sort of
- 29:46Speaker 2: talks about Okay, so we're gonna do Game Found and
- 29:48Speaker 2: they put it down as a pre order.
- 29:55Speaker 4: M hm.
- 29:55Speaker 2: So the one thing I will tell you that is
- 30:00Speaker 2: hurting key Forge right now, or at least I believe
- 30:03Speaker 2: it is hurting key Forge especially, is is the LGS
- 30:09Speaker 2: right key Forge basically? And I don't we haven't seen
- 30:14Speaker 2: any of their tears or what their game plan is
- 30:17Speaker 2: with it. But right now, people are ordering basically what
- 30:22Speaker 2: they want from the Game Found a kind of a
- 30:25Speaker 2: good sized discount. But then like the LGS wants to
- 30:31Speaker 2: order and it's like, why would I order any more
- 30:34Speaker 2: of this stuff if everyone's just ordering all their items
- 30:37Speaker 2: from the game Found? Yeah, they tell any of those
- 30:41Speaker 2: type of issues where like it's a pre order, right,
- 30:45Speaker 2: but like how is that? Because again, like this just
- 30:49Speaker 2: feels like more of of the magic thing, Right, Let's
- 30:53Speaker 2: take it out of the game store's hands and not
- 30:55Speaker 2: grease their palms and just grease ours even faster, right,
- 30:59Speaker 2: Like this is every every card or every games kind
- 31:03Speaker 2: of like wet dream, I guess is the basically the
- 31:06Speaker 2: way to put it is because they don't have to then,
- 31:08Speaker 2: do you know they have to do one mark up
- 31:11Speaker 2: to the end consumer and don't have to grease the
- 31:14Speaker 2: palms of anybody in the middle.
- 31:17Speaker 4: Yeah. So it's time for your favorite segment where I
- 31:20Speaker 4: try to answer your question without getting in big trouble myself.
- 31:26Speaker 4: Oh so, from things that Loki has mentioned in the
- 31:32Speaker 4: public discord and answers he's given just to like one
- 31:36Speaker 4: off concerns, they the stores will be able to get
- 31:41Speaker 4: products cheaper than the players, which is what you want.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Yep.
- 31:47Speaker 4: I know to an individual person that might sound bad,
- 31:50Speaker 4: but trust me, that's what you want. And there are
- 31:53Speaker 4: products that you can only get at an LGS and
- 31:58Speaker 4: these are going to be specific things only for the store.
- 32:04Speaker 4: The problem with the timing and everything is all of this,
- 32:08Speaker 4: of course, was supposed to be announced at the same
- 32:10Speaker 4: time they're working on all of the tiers. You know
- 32:14Speaker 4: what else is included and more of the information will
- 32:19Speaker 4: be out on October fifteenth.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Because it is a problem, right, because anything that comes
- 32:24Speaker 2: out on game found right, it's it's tough for an
- 32:28Speaker 2: LGS to want to support that because it's like where
- 32:31Speaker 2: do I fit in all this? Right? Because it's like
- 32:34Speaker 2: and you know, it's like you said, like you you
- 32:37Speaker 2: definitely want the LGS to be able to buy it cheaper.
- 32:40Speaker 2: And that's that is one hundred percent correct, because y'all
- 32:43Speaker 2: like somewhere to play, right where do you think that is?
- 32:47Speaker 2: Like you plan at your local library? You know, so
- 32:50Speaker 2: like that's your LGS and if you want to play
- 32:53Speaker 2: it like your LGS, your LGS has to make some money.
- 32:56Speaker 3: You need to make a profit off the game, right.
- 32:58Speaker 2: They need to make some money. You don't know why
- 33:01Speaker 2: Magic is still around because there's even even if wats
- 33:04Speaker 2: these attempts to make it so lgs is don't make money.
- 33:08Speaker 2: They unfortunately still make money off of it and gobs
- 33:11Speaker 2: of it, and that's why they're willing to support it
- 33:14Speaker 2: because it does make them a lot of money. In fact,
- 33:17Speaker 2: I would say a good most lgs's that would be
- 33:20Speaker 2: a majority of their money comes from Magic, Pokemon and
- 33:24Speaker 2: yu Gi.
- 33:24Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 33:28Speaker 8: A lot that I've seen a lot of stores money
- 33:32Speaker 8: is going on a lot the pricing, well not even
- 33:38Speaker 8: that so for.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Example, but yeah, so.
- 33:42Speaker 5: For example in Pokemon, just because that's the one that
- 33:46Speaker 5: I'm most with.
- 33:48Speaker 3: You can find boxes of the newest set.
- 33:50Speaker 5: They've gone up since then because it just distribution has changed,
- 33:54Speaker 5: and boxes are now maybe one point fifty, But if
- 33:58Speaker 5: you go to specific country, the MSRP is way higher
- 34:02Speaker 5: than that. I see a store in Puerto Rico, which where,
- 34:05Speaker 5: which is where I'm from, and boxes go for almost
- 34:08Speaker 5: two hundred.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Bucks and people buy it.
- 34:13Speaker 4: The scarcity is real, all right?
- 34:18Speaker 2: So for my next question, so we're treating this as
- 34:23Speaker 2: a pre order? Yes, where does that leave the I
- 34:35Speaker 2: guess the release just.
- 34:37Speaker 3: Like regular ordering for the stores.
- 34:39Speaker 2: No that that'll be sure. I'm sure they'll have some portal.
- 34:43Speaker 2: I don't know if it's going direct. Is it going
- 34:45Speaker 2: direct to Equinox or are they going to go through
- 34:48Speaker 2: like a Southern or somebody else.
- 34:51Speaker 3: I'm not sure information, but it won't be through as
- 34:54Speaker 3: in the day. Stores will be able to go directly
- 34:57Speaker 3: towards Equinox most likely.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Okay, where does that leave like release events? What is
- 35:03Speaker 2: the release? I mean? And we probably don't know this,
- 35:05Speaker 2: so we might guess the release schedule. Right? Am I
- 35:09Speaker 2: going to get my game founder before I get to
- 35:12Speaker 2: go to my pre release?
- 35:14Speaker 5: Yeah, it's going to be a thing still, and how
- 35:18Speaker 5: how early is presale going to start?
- 35:23Speaker 3: He didn't answer any of those questions in the faq.
- 35:26Speaker 3: Mm hmmm. Pre order the stores and people would probably
- 35:33Speaker 3: get stuff before the actual release date, So I'm not
- 35:38Speaker 3: sure how pre releases would work then, but they're definitely
- 35:41Speaker 3: still planning on having pre release events and pre release
- 35:44Speaker 3: kits like they have in the past. Sets.
- 35:48Speaker 5: Yes, speculation from my part, but I'm wondering if the
- 35:51Speaker 5: pre sales are going to go maybe two sets in advance,
- 35:55Speaker 5: which is a long term investment for a lot of people.
- 35:59Speaker 2: In advance, I could see one set in advance. I don't
- 36:04Speaker 2: think it'll be because the problem with the game found
- 36:08Speaker 2: right now with with key Forge is ghost Galaxy is
- 36:14Speaker 2: and I'm not gonna you know, I'm just gonna say it.
- 36:16Speaker 2: I shouldn't go Scalaxy all the time on arc corner.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Why not you? Ghost Galaxy is, whether people believe it
- 36:23Speaker 2: or not, are trying to circumvent the game store, right.
- 36:27Speaker 2: They want to make their money and the game store
- 36:30Speaker 2: be damned. The problem is is you're not You're not
- 36:33Speaker 2: going to see growth and year over year, right, Like
- 36:38Speaker 2: a game's health is determined by its growth or decline
- 36:44Speaker 2: the community in the store. We are going to lose
- 36:46Speaker 2: a certain number of players every single year. It is
- 36:50Speaker 2: bound to happen. It is never stagnant, right, You are
- 36:54Speaker 2: going to always lose a number of players every year.
- 36:58Speaker 2: I'm going to say that again. You will always lose
- 37:03Speaker 2: another a number of players year over a year. Because
- 37:07Speaker 2: I already hear the the the what's the word I'm
- 37:12Speaker 2: looking for? The uh, the sirens falling in the main
- 37:17Speaker 2: altered discord of this is it. Game's dead. Everybody move on.
- 37:23Speaker 2: You will one hundred percent always lose. You will never
- 37:26Speaker 2: have everyone from last year join again this year.
- 37:31Speaker 3: You will with the gathering.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Always, You're always going to have a certain number of
- 37:40Speaker 2: lapsed players, right. The goal is to replace those lapsed
- 37:45Speaker 2: players with new players. What is the game plan to
- 37:50Speaker 2: make that happen? I guess this is the question at
- 37:53Speaker 2: this point because where you're seeing like key Forge, what
- 37:59Speaker 2: I especially with the game found is you are not replacing.
- 38:04Speaker 2: And they may tell me otherwise because they're like, oh,
- 38:07Speaker 2: we've had huge leaps and bounds us here places are
- 38:10Speaker 2: calling us to order key Forge now, great, right, Like
- 38:15Speaker 2: that's what you've had like four stores and you're going
- 38:18Speaker 2: to call that a win. I don't know, but you
- 38:22Speaker 2: know it's you got to replace those players and you can't.
- 38:26Speaker 2: You cannot take out the LGS. Number one. They're your
- 38:30Speaker 2: biggest advocates, right, you know, they're the ones that are
- 38:33Speaker 2: going to be like, you know, somebody comes in to
- 38:35Speaker 2: buy a pack, our or starter deck altered, you want
- 38:38Speaker 2: that LGS person to go, oh, yeah, we got a
- 38:40Speaker 2: group that meets every every Thursday. Yeah, you should come
- 38:45Speaker 2: on in check it out, you know what I mean, Like,
- 38:48Speaker 2: that's what you want, So I don't come.
- 38:55Speaker 3: Here that they will have exclusive stuff for the stores
- 38:58Speaker 3: and they will still have opie programs and packs and
- 39:01Speaker 3: kits and stuff, which is a lot more than key
- 39:03Speaker 3: for just doing absolutely.
- 39:05Speaker 2: And I love that they're like, all right, we need
- 39:07Speaker 2: to think of a store because they've they've come to
- 39:10Speaker 2: that realization of how important the store actually is, right
- 39:14Speaker 2: because at number one, this game will not survive without
- 39:17Speaker 2: the LGS.
- 39:19Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Boy, I was just very quiet for a time. I
- 39:24Speaker 4: was just coughing, But yeah, I heard everything you said. Yeah,
- 39:29Speaker 4: you're hit the nail on the head. How I think
- 39:34Speaker 4: of it, and a good way to frame it is
- 39:37Speaker 4: Asthma Day is the distributor, They're not the one making anything, right,
- 39:43Speaker 4: And it's the same thing with game Jenik. They're not
- 39:46Speaker 4: really making the accessories. You know, cart Mundy is printing
- 39:52Speaker 4: cards whatever the other company is factories are making play
- 39:56Speaker 4: mats and stuff like that. So Equinoc is just going
- 40:00Speaker 4: to be dealing with those directly instead of having Asthma
- 40:05Speaker 4: Day being the one, you know, working the in between.
- 40:09Speaker 4: And since the start, they've always had, you know, lgs's
- 40:14Speaker 4: in mind and been very careful about the decisions that
- 40:18Speaker 4: they make around what they offer. I've seen it come
- 40:23Speaker 4: up already once or twice, and I would almost bet
- 40:28Speaker 4: my shoes that it'll never happen. But people mentioning like
- 40:33Speaker 4: digital packs, I don't think it'll ever happen, and that
- 40:37Speaker 4: is something that.
- 40:42Speaker 2: This game went completely digital.
- 40:45Speaker 4: Yeah, So I think a good point here is Equinox
- 40:52Speaker 4: the team themselves, has never given me a reason to
- 40:58Speaker 4: doubt that they can work us out. Without getting too
- 41:02Speaker 4: deep into it, I mean what he's already kind of
- 41:04Speaker 4: mentioned some things. Ghost Galaxy is a much different company
- 41:11Speaker 4: and there are some good people there, but there's a
- 41:15Speaker 4: lot that can be said about the owner of the company.
- 41:20Speaker 2: There's a lot to be said about the owner of
- 41:22Speaker 2: the company, but that's not this. Yeah.
- 41:25Speaker 4: Yeah, so in my eyes, this should go a lot
- 41:32Speaker 4: better because of that. And as you you've said, you
- 41:37Speaker 4: know you think that key Forge doesn't really care.
- 41:43Speaker 3: As much about LG or in the community.
- 41:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't.
- 41:47Speaker 2: I don't feel like key four. I don't feel like
- 41:49Speaker 2: GG cares as much about the lgs as they do
- 41:53Speaker 2: their bottom line, right, I mean we're talking, yeah, we're
- 41:57Speaker 2: talking three years now. You know, the very second Keyfarde
- 42:01Speaker 2: celebration we went to, we said, you know, man, it's
- 42:04Speaker 2: it's super great for Keyfardge to be back, but like
- 42:08Speaker 2: we want to get this into our local gaming stores.
- 42:10Speaker 2: Like this is cool that we can travel to all
- 42:12Speaker 2: these places. You know, we got five five stops a
- 42:15Speaker 2: year for the Vault Tours and it's really fun to
- 42:18Speaker 2: be at this high level. But like we need something
- 42:21Speaker 2: to show a new player, right, Like when that new
- 42:25Speaker 2: person comes in, like what what do we have to
- 42:28Speaker 2: show them? What do we have to offer them? What
- 42:29Speaker 2: do we have to give them? Right? Because you know,
- 42:33Speaker 2: doctor sheep on on Ac says, well, I stuff don't
- 42:37Speaker 2: do it, and I'm very much to the disagreement. So
- 42:40Speaker 2: stuff don't do it. Like, if you get something cool
- 42:42Speaker 2: from a game, you're like, that's super cool. I want
- 42:45Speaker 2: to I want more, I want more cool things. Right,
- 42:49Speaker 2: So I I am of a firm believer stuff does
- 42:52Speaker 2: do it. And if you can give up some cool
- 42:54Speaker 2: organized play stuff, right, Like I.
- 42:57Speaker 3: Think little trinkets would make everything so much better.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Ship a bag of Doritos would work for me. I
- 43:02Speaker 2: don't know, but like, you know, but it's got to
- 43:07Speaker 2: be like and I don't have a good answer because
- 43:10Speaker 2: that's the first thing everyboel asked, Well, what is it?
- 43:13Speaker 2: I don't know, right, but like, you know, first things
- 43:17Speaker 2: off the top of my head was like, you know,
- 43:19Speaker 2: when you start doing your op kits, you know, tons
- 43:23Speaker 2: of tokens and altered right, And it's really cool that
- 43:25Speaker 2: there's all these third party people doing it. But it
- 43:29Speaker 2: would be even super cooler if there was an official
- 43:32Speaker 2: altered you know token.
- 43:34Speaker 3: Hey this month, is there is like an official acrylic set?
- 43:40Speaker 3: They did like some some different ones mixed it up so.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Everyone could have those are from officials, right, but those
- 43:48Speaker 2: are from game Genic, right, And as far as I understand,
- 43:53Speaker 2: game Genic really won't be working with altered anymore.
- 43:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know the sensors will still be available, though.
- 44:00Speaker 2: They'll be available as long as their stock. I don't
- 44:03Speaker 2: think after the stock gets gone that they will still
- 44:05Speaker 2: be that's true. So that's cool. Yeah you want these
- 44:09Speaker 2: super cool premium premium tokens, Yes, you can go buy them,
- 44:13Speaker 2: or hey, thanks for stopping by. Here's a pack of
- 44:17Speaker 2: five fleeting tokens, right that you can use at your
- 44:21Speaker 2: house or like, the next time you come back, you
- 44:23Speaker 2: can use these again. That's what we're giving away this month.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Don't forget. Come back next month to get your anchored tokens.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Anchoreds are going to be next month, so those are
- 44:32Speaker 2: going to be really cool. Or your your your first
- 44:35Speaker 2: player marker, right, like, don't you know, come on back
- 44:39Speaker 2: next to you get you.
- 44:40Speaker 4: They do have.
- 44:40Speaker 3: Plenty of first player markers for each set and pre
- 44:43Speaker 3: releases that they give out.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Sure, absolutely, but there would be some just more would
- 44:48Speaker 2: be cool, some really cool? Uh maybe maybe maybe some
- 44:56Speaker 2: you know, fan generated We got fan generated art. What
- 45:00Speaker 2: am I looking for here? Like fan.
- 45:04Speaker 3: You know?
- 45:04Speaker 2: Like, oh, who's your Hey? I really like those altered
- 45:09Speaker 2: corner guys, right, maybe you do something? Maybe they work
- 45:13Speaker 2: with somebody, and that's oh yeah. On one side is
- 45:18Speaker 2: the anchored token. On the other side, you got one
- 45:20Speaker 2: of your favorite podcasts. Right, maybe it's maybe it's not Altered Corner.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Maybe it's a Hero's Guide Asgartha, right, and you work
- 45:29Speaker 2: with them to put some you know, there's there's tons
- 45:31Speaker 2: of people out there like you can work with to
- 45:34Speaker 2: make this really cool. Right, And like number one, Altered
- 45:39Speaker 2: is a very very small community, whether whether the Altered
- 45:43Speaker 2: people believe it or not. Big in Europe, but not
- 45:47Speaker 2: in the US. And if you ain't making it in
- 45:49Speaker 2: the US, you ain't making it baby, So I mean
- 45:54Speaker 2: so if I'm lying, I'm crying.
- 45:55Speaker 4: Right this is this is kind of a side note.
- 45:59Speaker 4: But have you you've seen any of the massubi alt
- 46:04Speaker 4: arts that will be coming I think next month.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Like the spam, the seweed spam and Rice.
- 46:16Speaker 4: Okay, here we go, they did. The blog does have it,
- 46:18Speaker 4: so shout out to altertcg dot blog. Oh no, they
- 46:23Speaker 4: don't have. I swear one of the full ones was released.
- 46:27Speaker 4: They don't have it. I'll track it down as we
- 46:30Speaker 4: talk about the next time and share it. But they
- 46:33Speaker 4: they are super cool and I'm so stoked for them,
- 46:37Speaker 4: but as like game Genic and all of those partnerships,
- 46:42Speaker 4: I don't think they're one hundred cut off from Gamegenic.
- 46:46Speaker 4: But here's another benefit to not being expressly tied to
- 46:52Speaker 4: game Jenic. The playmats that are going to be at
- 46:56Speaker 4: Worlds only have the Altered logo. They do not have
- 47:00Speaker 4: have game genek on nice, which I mean it never
- 47:03Speaker 4: really bothered me, but if you think about it, like
- 47:07Speaker 4: less random words on your very nice art playmat is better,
- 47:12Speaker 4: you know, and then.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Not gonna lie to you. It's been a long time
- 47:16Speaker 2: since I've used anybody else's playmant. I make my own
- 47:19Speaker 2: playmats now over at InCD dot com with ink dot
- 47:23Speaker 2: com because I like to put naughty things on my
- 47:26Speaker 2: playmat to make other people's feel uncomfortable. But that's me,
- 47:30Speaker 2: Like I wouldn't take notes from the Wookie on how
- 47:33Speaker 2: to go to your premiere luxury cardboard event, right.
- 47:38Speaker 4: Especially especially not altered, Especially.
- 47:44Speaker 2: You've never met the key Forge community, especially not there either.
- 47:47Speaker 2: But I do it anyway because because we are key
- 47:51Speaker 2: Forge is number one podcast, so we get away with things.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Over here, we're only number forty four, so we can't
- 48:00Speaker 2: get away with as much.
- 48:02Speaker 4: True, there there are more things coming though, there's going
- 48:06Speaker 4: to be a wooly back.
- 48:08Speaker 2: Plush are always fun. Yeah, those went over huge in
- 48:14Speaker 2: the key Forge community, and don't take those for granted.
- 48:20Speaker 2: We actually we had a conversation with Josh Massey who's
- 48:28Speaker 2: now over in Universes. He's organized play over there. He
- 48:34Speaker 2: used to be organized play for key Forge. And actually
- 48:38Speaker 2: I used to talk a lot to Alex Watkins, who
- 48:40Speaker 2: used to be I think he's with I think he's
- 48:44Speaker 2: with Uh was it Live Story Studios or whoever? Whoever?
- 48:52Speaker 2: What is that game? Why am I drawing a complete
- 48:55Speaker 2: blank on it? What's the other big game? Flesh and Blood?
- 49:01Speaker 2: He's over there now with Flesh.
- 49:03Speaker 3: Living played that for a couple of weeks.
- 49:05Speaker 2: Yeah, same, I think we all did. But like plushes
- 49:09Speaker 2: are ridiculously expensive to make, Like you're talking like the
- 49:18Speaker 2: I don't, I don't know if you want to call
- 49:19Speaker 2: it the con like the mock up of number one,
- 49:23Speaker 2: Like you choose your thing right, but then you have
- 49:25Speaker 2: to like mock it up right of how like patterns
- 49:28Speaker 2: are going to be cut out. It's like ten thousand
- 49:31Speaker 2: dollars just to start one, just to like start it
- 49:37Speaker 2: and then you have, and then you have the actual
- 49:38Speaker 2: cost of actually making them. But that's that was wild
- 49:44Speaker 2: to me to build a stuffed animal. You're you're starting
- 49:47Speaker 2: at ten g's ten bands, Yeah, just to get started.
- 49:53Speaker 2: That's Dad's wild. But that's me.
- 49:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I do, of course want to get into some
- 50:04Speaker 4: of the negatives. That way, people can't say that I'm
- 50:08Speaker 4: just always shilling. But Dexter took down some notes that
- 50:13Speaker 4: weren't fully covered in the breakdown from the blog. Do
- 50:18Speaker 4: you want to tell us what you learned from reading
- 50:21Speaker 4: the transcripts?
- 50:22Speaker 3: Dexter and not a whole lot of separate things, and
- 50:27Speaker 3: it's all more positives, I think.
- 50:33Speaker 4: But the first note, yeah.
- 50:36Speaker 3: Is that they are this game Found is not slowing
- 50:40Speaker 3: down what they have, so they're still working on set
- 50:43Speaker 3: five uniques are almost done. All of the rest of
- 50:46Speaker 3: the development is pretty much done, So once they get
- 50:49Speaker 3: the game Found up and running, the set will be
- 50:51Speaker 3: pretty much complete, and then it'll be shipped out and
- 50:53Speaker 3: everything should go smoothly with timelines and when they finish
- 50:57Speaker 3: developing and getting everything ready and then board game arena
- 51:00Speaker 3: development is its own thing, so everything should be able
- 51:03Speaker 3: to run smoothly. And this game Found shouldn't interrupt that
- 51:06Speaker 3: too much. And Loki did make a point about how
- 51:11Speaker 3: a lot of people are saying that that people aren't
- 51:16Speaker 3: saying that alters selling very well, but if they actually
- 51:19Speaker 3: look at Beyond the Gates and how it sold off
- 51:21Speaker 3: the shelves, it did a lot better than they thought then,
- 51:24Speaker 3: like people are saying, and so that indicates that the
- 51:29Speaker 3: op structure is still in good shape. And they're also
- 51:33Speaker 3: keeping track of all comments that people are saying on
- 51:35Speaker 3: the internets and Reddit and discord, and they won't respond
- 51:39Speaker 3: to all of it, but they do keep track of
- 51:41Speaker 3: it all and they are going to set up ways
- 51:45Speaker 3: to respond to all comments there.
- 51:48Speaker 2: I think a roadblock right now is just getting into stores. Yeah, yes,
- 51:54Speaker 2: that that is like there're still you know. So I
- 51:58Speaker 2: went to I took my wife out to dinner Friday night.
- 52:05Speaker 2: We went out. We went to this place. It's called
- 52:07Speaker 2: fah falk Landy a pub or it might be falk
- 52:12Speaker 2: Landy a brewing. It is a games It is a
- 52:18Speaker 2: bar and restaurant with a game store in it. Pretty neat, Huh.
- 52:25Speaker 2: They've never even heard of. Yeah, I don't know who is,
- 52:30Speaker 2: don't know what they are never heard of them now,
- 52:33Speaker 2: I mean not surprised poking around this store. They had
- 52:36Speaker 2: Pokemon and Magic. That was it. Like no board games,
- 52:43Speaker 2: no miniature games. No, I shouldn't say that that they
- 52:48Speaker 2: had a selection of board games you could play while
- 52:51Speaker 2: you ate dinner, which yeah, their service was. We did
- 52:58Speaker 2: not get to really play anything. But like you know,
- 53:01Speaker 2: but like basically like behind us there was a Commander
- 53:05Speaker 2: group starting kind of a cool thing. But again it's like,
- 53:10Speaker 2: all right, like this place just does Magic, right, So,
- 53:13Speaker 2: and that's the unfortunate fact is that's a lot of
- 53:16Speaker 2: places and you have to kind of fight and claw
- 53:18Speaker 2: your way to get into a lot of these stores
- 53:20Speaker 2: because Magic is such a powerhouse and it's not showing
- 53:25Speaker 2: any you know, especially with the universes beyond stuff Spider
- 53:28Speaker 2: Man and Last Airbender coming out, it shows zero signs
- 53:33Speaker 2: of slowing down.
- 53:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember everybody.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Magic's been dying for thirty years, so.
- 53:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I think there are a couple key examples of
- 53:46Speaker 4: the fact that they really do listen to feedback. Sometimes
- 53:52Speaker 4: it's unfortunate for me personally, but I'm glad that they
- 53:56Speaker 4: do it. So the first season of Tumults, we got
- 54:00Speaker 4: the scout cards were like big oversized cardboard cards, right,
- 54:05Speaker 4: and enough people complained about them because they're not playable
- 54:09Speaker 4: cards that they this time are playable cards with a
- 54:13Speaker 4: tumult stamp, which they're very nice cards. It's great, But
- 54:18Speaker 4: I actually kind of liked that Altered was doing something
- 54:21Speaker 4: a little different because you know, Star Wars and all
- 54:25Speaker 4: those others they do the whole stamped card thing. It's
- 54:27Speaker 4: just industry standard. I had another I.
- 54:32Speaker 2: Think would also and I don't mean to cut you
- 54:35Speaker 2: off here, but I think also it would be also
- 54:37Speaker 2: pretty dope. I know they give away the little packs
- 54:40Speaker 2: now what they're like three card packs, and you have
- 54:42Speaker 2: a higher chance of a unique.
- 54:44Speaker 3: I've always done those.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying. That's what you get now, right, Yeah? Yeah,
- 54:51Speaker 2: what if it was just like this month's unique is.
- 54:57Speaker 3: Yeah, uniques have to be unique.
- 55:02Speaker 2: Sure, and you can make them unique, right, I mean
- 55:08Speaker 2: is that I guess I don't know, Like I don't
- 55:10Speaker 2: know how much is being produced.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Like they have one designated card that's a unique, and
- 55:14Speaker 3: they print like, yeah, a few thousand of them and
- 55:17Speaker 3: then we each.
- 55:18Speaker 2: Store with SUBI twenty four altar right coming out, I'm
- 55:22Speaker 2: gonna assume in this next set, if.
- 55:26Speaker 4: They will be unlocks for everyone in October.
- 55:29Speaker 2: But yeah, the but let's let's say in October alongside
- 55:34Speaker 2: that every store you were getting you were given a
- 55:37Speaker 2: one card pack, right, a one card pack, or maybe
- 55:40Speaker 2: it doesn't even have to be a one card pack.
- 55:43Speaker 2: It could just be a card and each one is
- 55:45Speaker 2: you know, it's got its own little like wrapper around it. Hey,
- 55:49Speaker 2: here's your unique, Mitsubi Masubi, stay you with you. It's
- 55:54Speaker 2: just it's a unique, right, it might not be it
- 55:59Speaker 2: might be something in it be nothing, right.
- 56:02Speaker 3: That might be hard for them to print that out
- 56:05Speaker 3: logistically and get the algorithm just to make a whole
- 56:08Speaker 3: bunch of one single card.
- 56:10Speaker 4: But I don't know.
- 56:12Speaker 9: What about And then I'm just shooting in the dark.
- 56:16Speaker 9: Here literally a specific character that's exclusive to promos, and
- 56:22Speaker 9: the unique can show up in any faction, though.
- 56:27Speaker 2: You could, yeah that you'd have to. I like it
- 56:32Speaker 2: is and it isn't right. I like the I like
- 56:34Speaker 2: the Moxie. But however, you have to be very careful
- 56:39Speaker 2: because all of a sudden, you got one set of
- 56:40Speaker 2: Unique that becomes extraordinarily busted because it really synergizes with
- 56:46Speaker 2: one thing, and then all of a sudden a faction
- 56:48Speaker 2: takes off. They do a very good job of making
- 56:51Speaker 2: sure like the factions are somewhat altogether, except they hate
- 56:56Speaker 2: Cole for some reason. I don't really know why. It's weird,
- 56:59Speaker 2: but yeah, I mean you could do something like that,
- 57:01Speaker 2: or what if you do, like maybe it's not an
- 57:04Speaker 2: altart but like a full art, right, like oh Matsubi
- 57:09Speaker 2: full art, full art. Yeah, but what if it's like
- 57:13Speaker 2: the common art. I don't know. I'm just I'm spitballing here, right,
- 57:17Speaker 2: Like the biggest thing that you want to give to
- 57:20Speaker 2: a new player, and the biggest thing I realized with
- 57:23Speaker 2: my Altered Journey and still to this day is getting uniques.
- 57:28Speaker 2: That are some just getting uniques? Yeah, you know, I
- 57:34Speaker 2: don't suck if well, they could even suck, because you
- 57:38Speaker 2: need three to play the damn game.
- 57:39Speaker 3: Next he I think, is there worse than the common then?
- 57:44Speaker 5: I think even if they would suck, just the thrall
- 57:48Speaker 5: and the adrenaline rush people get from just one, I
- 57:52Speaker 5: think it already makes it worth it.
- 57:54Speaker 2: Right, and then not only that, like now you want
- 57:57Speaker 2: to build around it, right or like it gets some
- 57:59Speaker 2: hype flowing or you know, I'm just and again, I'm
- 58:02Speaker 2: spitballing here, you know, or you know, in again industry
- 58:05Speaker 2: standard you can kind of like stamp it or give
- 58:09Speaker 2: it some special kind of treatment, or I'm just again,
- 58:12Speaker 2: I'm spitballing because number one, some of my ideas usually
- 58:16Speaker 2: aren't very profitable or cost effective. So I'm just I'm
- 58:24Speaker 2: trying to figure out something because you always want a
- 58:26Speaker 2: new player to walk away with something cool, because that's
- 58:30Speaker 2: just that's what brings people back, in my opinion, is
- 58:33Speaker 2: walking away with something.
- 58:34Speaker 3: They did add one unique to every pre release kit,
- 58:37Speaker 3: which is great.
- 58:39Speaker 2: I feel like that's what is what everyone's looking at.
- 58:42Speaker 2: But I feel like, man, how many new you guys
- 58:44Speaker 2: got a lot of new players that come to the pre.
- 58:46Speaker 3: Release normally the biggest events.
- 58:54Speaker 2: Yeah, but like new players, yep, that's why.
- 58:59Speaker 4: That's that's why we were so adamant about the pre
- 59:04Speaker 4: release kits and having like a little instruction guide and
- 59:07Speaker 4: stuff like that, because yeah.
- 59:11Speaker 3: More so than the tumult, we aren't getting any new
- 59:13Speaker 3: people at tumults.
- 59:14Speaker 4: Yeah, tumults like people are scared to attend.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Well, yeah, because now you're going to get hyper competitive, right,
- 59:21Speaker 2: It's really not the well you can say that all
- 59:24Speaker 2: you want, but like in the eyes of the person
- 59:27Speaker 2: that's like, yeah, I went to a pre release and
- 59:29Speaker 2: I had a lot of fun. I don't know if
- 59:31Speaker 2: I want to go to the tumult though, that just
- 59:33Speaker 2: seems maybe a little too you know, how do you
- 59:36Speaker 2: bridge that? Yeap, I guess that's the question.
- 59:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:40Speaker 4: Well, there's a lot that they're going to be doing
- 59:43Speaker 4: in the way of, you know, improving the Adventure Pass,
- 59:47Speaker 4: improving the season of op. And they have mentioned before
- 59:54Speaker 4: that they know opening Altered packs isn't very exciting right now,
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: and that's where like it's this really hard thing to
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: balance and win because getting one box of Altered is amazing.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: You get like almost everything you need, but then you
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: don't have as much of a reason to open packs
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: after that. So there's been things thrown around like box toppers,
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: new rarities.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: Somehow have to beat magic in this territory.
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: You have to beat magic though, or do you just
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: you just have to have you know, I don't even know,
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: but yeah.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Because and the reason it's not exciting is because I mean,
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: they're the and I'm just gonna say this, the secondary
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: market for this game kind of blows.
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: That's kind of what I was saying earlier is yeah,
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: I don't it's too cheap.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a little too cheap. It's awesome, yeah, but
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: like it's a little too inexpensive to play this game
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: to the point where like, oh man, I opened this
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: sweet unique, what's it worth? Well? And that there's your
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: next problem.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: Five bucks?
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Nobody knows. Nobody knows. How do you know if that's
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: a five bus or five hundred dollars unique?
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: You ask someone with a lot of experience, right.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: And where am I gonna? Okay, so I but you don't.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: But as a person, just as a person, I don't know.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: Like I'm brand new to this game. I just opened
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: some altered man. I got this sweet Oh man, it's
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: a gold one. Oh man, I got this sweet unique card.
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: Oh man, what's it worth? I'm gonna go to TCG player.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: I'm gonna Oh, there's no information.
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: There is some information, now, there was, I know, Cole
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: found one website that gave estimates. Yeah, and you can
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: also just look on the marketplace and look at some
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: of the similar cards that are.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Up there to ask Loki what the conversion rate? And
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: I'm sure that's a number that somebody he might not
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: even know what is what's the conversion rate from person
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: who buys card, like the amount of cards that have
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: been sold versus the amount of cards that have been scanned,
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: because you know how much of each set has sold, right,
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: And then you could do like some rough math to
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: be like, oh, there's you know, thirty seven million beyond
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: the gates cards that have sold. How many are actually
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: scanned into the system. I can tell you it's probably
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: commons behind that have never been scanned.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Number one, I'm just not an I'm not an online player,
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: so I don't care. And I'm not really going to
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: any big events right because there's just not a thing
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: near me. So I don't care. Right If I need
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: to like find a way to scan them because I
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: need them for a deck, yeah I'll scan them then,
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: but I'm not going to spend any extra time scanning them.
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I uh, if you if you know me, I
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: am a very hateful of capitalism. But I also understand
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: that there there is kind of an issue with the
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: value on cards. I I literally have two long boxes
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: full of cards I cannot give away, and that that
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: is kind of a problem.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: You can them up here, Okay, I will, I will
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: commons won't be scanned in or anything.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: Hell yeah, uh.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: I mean, dude, I got three kids. What do you mean?
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: I love it? No, kids just look pretty. I tried to,
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: So I tried. I was like, I brought my wife.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell this story again and she's gonna kill me.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: You guys ready for this? So recently I went to
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: two new game stores because I just I you know,
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: I hadn't been in the game store near me locally
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: had basically had shut down. So I had I had
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: heard about this game store, Old Guard Games for like
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: the longest time. They had reached out to me moons
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: ago because they wanted to get a Vault tour at
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: their place, but like it just never happened, never, like
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: uh never amounted to anything, right, And so I was like, ah,
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: one of these days, I will check them out. And
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: I finally did, probably I don't know, about a month ago,
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: and I took I took my wife and we went
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: into the game store and we were poking around. Right
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: it's you know, it's a game store, very heavily miniature base.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: But they had some of course, you found some Commander
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: players and then there was there was a few. It
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: was a handful of people that were opening up one piece,
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: which that is a whole conundrum in itself. But I add,
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: you know, you gotta be altered or key forge, and
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: they're like nope, and they at least knew what I
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: was talking about. What weren't interested. Had a little talk
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: about it. My wife was pissed. She's like, when when
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: did it become that a woman could walk into a
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: game store and not get one look? She was like
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: mad that nobody even like paid attention to her. She's like,
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: I'm a girl in a game store. Pay attention to me.
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: Old news.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Yeah, but one game store, uh knew what I was
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: talking about, but didn't have anyone had never even heard
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: of it.
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: So I have a couple of game stories like that
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: as well. Even with Star Wars they were like, yeah,
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: we skipped on that. I was like, all right, okay.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: Cool, I mean it looks just fair. But because again,
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: like the LGS is what will make her break a game.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: If people are playing it and they're coming in a
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: you know, at a decent clip with a good size
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: tot you know, good size following, people will be like,
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: what's this game? Oh, that's kind of cool. Oh that's
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: kind of cool. Well, that's kind of cool. I mean,
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: are there are there plans to do any sort of
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: like bring a new player type event type deals like hey,
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: you bring a new player and get this sweet altered
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: travel mug. That's something I just completely made up off
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: off the hip. But you know, like, you know, you
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: get us a sweet promo card or whatever. I don't know,
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: insert something here for bringing a new player and they
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: play play the game with you, or like demo decks
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: or you know, giveaways. I mean Magic used to do,
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: though I know they don't anymore, and I don't know
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: how successful they were.
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: But I mean decks.
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: Magic still does demo.
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: For conventions, mostly.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: Because I remember used to be able to walk into
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: an LGS and be like, I want to learn to
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: play Magic, and they'd hand you like half a starter
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: deck and then like you're remember, they'd hand them half
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: a starter deck too, and then you could like play it.
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: It was packs East.
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: After talking with Cole in the very last day, and
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: went to Mendi the gathering and I talked to them,
- 1:07:17Speaker 6: how I have a.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: Car game club at my school. They give me a
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: whole kid a demo.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: Decks Magic did. Yeah, oh wow, nice. I just I
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: wonder how this game survives, right, And I know it's
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: still very I know it's still very profitable. And I'm
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: not overly worried about Equinox because it seems like even
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: though they're going away, like again, believe it or not,
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: leaving Asthma Day is probably for the best. Like if
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: if you are crying about them leaving Asthma Day, don't
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: because it is actually way better that they are not
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: associated with Asthma Day that it is that they are.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yep, there's Yeah, as unfortunate as it is,
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: that is true. And I said that I was going
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: to have some negative things, but I might have already
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: forgotten them because all the things I can think of
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: are things that is not Equinox's fault. So, for like
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: an example, I was a judge at gen Con, same
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: as Felix and Dexter, and we didn't get any anything
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: like they Asthma de sent us none of our stuff.
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: We didn't have our demo kits, we didn't have our
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: table cloths.
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: Yeah, we didn't have anything, and that would make ourselves.
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and that wasn't the only thing we didn't have
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: Convention play mats either, which people love, like, people go
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: crazy for them, people spend five hundred dollars to buy
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: them if they couldn't go there, And the reason we
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: didn't is game Jenik just didn't make them. They just
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: decided not to make them. And the reason there.
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: Or they got pushed to the back burner because somebody, something,
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: something bigger came along. Yeah, yeah exactly, but out of
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: the time and it was like, oh yep, sorry guys.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's not Equinox who like didn't make them.
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: It was gamegenic right, And like I was there when
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: when they found out, and we were like, well shit,
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: like what the hell, Like, We've been asking you about
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: this for months and now you tell me that they
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: just never got made. We did our part, we gave
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: you the art, we gave you the files, you just
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: never produced them. And that's kind of the same reason
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: that there are no accessories for Skybound Odyssey, which is
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: super unfortunate. There's gonna be no play mats, no sleeves, nothing,
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: and it's because Gamegenik didn't produce them. So, I mean,
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: there are obviously things that Equinox needs to work on themselves.
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: I really really want them to hire at least one
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: or two more support people. That poor one support person
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: they have is absolutely not enough. But everything else is
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: honestly like just kind of out of their control. I
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: know a lot of people will give them a lot
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: of flack about like print on demand in the market
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: not being in certain countries like Switzerland is a great example.
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: And it's not like they don't want to. It's Switzerland
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: has very very strict and weird laws around taxes and
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: like digital purchases and making money on websites and stuff,
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: and they have like two different tax systems or something,
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: so I literally have to work with like the Swiss government.
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: But yeah, I don't know if I can remember anything
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: that I thought was unfortunate about this specifically outside of
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: I hope people don't just give up on it because
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: of like the perception of the biggest fear this announcement.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: The biggest fear I would have going into this is
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: and this is just from a player's state, because I've
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: been around the block for so long. The biggest fear
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: with game found is how are you going to make
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: it successful? For this? Like, how are you going to
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: make a store want to carry your shit? And why
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: should I still carry your product, right, like give me,
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: give me your elevator pitch right, Like why should local games?
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: You know, a local game store. He makes all his
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: bones off of magic and Pokemon. Why should he carry altered?
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: Give him a re he needs. That's the guy. The
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: smallest game store you can imagine, is the one that
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: needs the reason.
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: And definitely a hurdle.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: Right, and now you're going to Game Found, which is
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: even more of It's that scary word, right, crowd Every
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: every game store hates that word crowdfunding.
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: Yeah, it is important to note that stories will not
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: go to Game Found.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: But that was actually that was one of my questions.
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: I was going to ask, will there be some sort
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: of retailer, I guess pledge that they're able to get
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: stuff and get like super cool things, right you?
- 1:12:58Speaker 6: And I says there's a specific platform that they'll have
- 1:13:01Speaker 6: access to.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not going to be through the game Found.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: It will be through Equinox, not game Found. Yes, correct, right,
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: because like the biggest thing that I had I had
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: kind of voiced after the last Game Found for key Forge,
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: and it wasn't this last one, it was probably two
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: game founds will go was like why would a story
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: even want to bother with you, you're just circumventing them.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: So my biggest question is you know to to to
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: low key in the team. I know you got we
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: had all talked about maybe having him on and answering
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: some questions, but it might be a logistical uh nightmare.
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: But like I know, but like how are you going
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: to make it profitable to game stores? Like how what
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: are you going to do? Like it's cool to say,
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: like there's going to be product that is only retailer available,
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: but is it cool stuff that's that's and that's that.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: I'm sure he can't tell us any of that, right
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: or maybe to him and super it's super cool, right,
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: And it's up to the retailer to figure out whether
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: it's cool or not. But like you got to give
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: them some somewhat of a huge advantage over ordering through
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: the game Found because like I guess at that point,
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: why even have a game found? Is it just a
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: distribution method then? At that point, because again I don't
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: know how game found works really, like are you just
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: distributing it via yourselves and you're using and again as
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: a crowdfunding to like make money off the set.
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: It's just a preorder portal basically.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: But like, so okay, So then again, my biggest question
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: is why not run the preorders through the store.
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: I don't know the answer to that, but what I
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: would assume.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: Somebody write in our docks for Loki, because I'll forget
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: that question.
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: How how I see it? Yeah, Dexter's got it. I'll remember.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: I'll remember it.
- 1:15:11Speaker 4: How I see it is you kind of have to
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: have both. You have to have a way for people
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: to order the game that want it and don't have
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: an LGS they can get it from. But also, as
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: we've kept saying, you do as well have to work
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: with stores to foster like a p and you know,
- 1:15:32Speaker 4: supporting stories. The game found will also have things like
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: the plushes and other things, but not the story specific.
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: So it's like this balance. And I remembered one of
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: the things that is is a good point you were
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: talking about when I was away for a second. The
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: time frame is something to worry about.
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: Oh, I wasn't talking about that. We were talking about
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: that on discord in our little private chat. Is like,
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: that's that's something we didn't talk about here at all,
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: Like time frame, Like you're looking at releasing a set
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: every what every quarter? Basically every four months, four months,
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: every yeah, every four months, So you're looking at you know,
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: four sets a year, three to four steps.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: We're doing four pre orders?
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: Is it every three months? Is it quarterly they're looking
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: to release or just every four months four months? Okay,
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: because I mean, yeah, well some years you'll have three,
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: some years you'll have four, just depending on where the
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: dates fall.
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: Yeah, So I think that is one of the legitimate
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: concerns is you know, how often are people going to
- 1:16:51Speaker 4: be able.
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: To how often is too often? Yeah?
- 1:16:55Speaker 4: And what is it going to look like for you know,
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: getting it in in people's hands, Because I know that's
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: a that's a big issue with key Ford. It's like I.
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: See it, yeah, timelines.
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: I see it mentioned very frequently in the Arkans Corner discord.
- 1:17:13Speaker 4: So that that is at.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: Another big thing too, is I guess I don't know
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: if they'll have shipping partners or printing partners or how.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: I don't know how it is, but like we just had,
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: Indonesia just had their like nationals, right, So there's a
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: huge problem because like Indonesia doesn't there's certain parts that
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: don't have certain sets that we have here. Because they
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: haven't been released yet, so it becomes an issue.
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: It's taken so long to get delivered over there. They
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: don't have petic visions. It's released like a month or
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: two ago now, but they weren't able to play it
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: there because they just don't have access to it.
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: Remember, and then in China, right, there's a problem with
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: grim Reminders, like it was just stuck in there in
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: their processes for like ever.
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: And I think for authetic visions there's a lot of
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: decks still stuck at the Asia hub too, right, Yeah,
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: I mean it's nightmare.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: So in the UK, it was a big problem too
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: with uh, with with ember Skies, because like it was
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: stuck on a boat, right, so like there was no
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: way to like they were trying to get it all done.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: All they were trying to make it so like everybody
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: could get what they wanted all at the same time,
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: because like they originally started shipping to us people, but
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: then we got it way faster than anybody else because
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: literally Gigi is in Minnesota, so depending on your where
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: you were in the world in accordance with Minnesota, depending
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: on how long your stuff took to get to you.
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: And it was a nightmare, and then they tried to
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: do Europe first, and then some people in in the
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: States still got the stuff. Further, it was just yeah,
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: shipping was a literal nightmare.
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: Yeah. The only thing I have to go off of
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: for that is they do have a partnership with ups
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: which yes, you know, I mean, you know, that's all
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: on the side. And people will complain how expensive the
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: shipping is for proNT on demand, but it's actually but
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: incredibly priced. Like I don't know how they.
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: For the print on demand, and they do at least
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: have the experience of getting things shipped out with their
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: whole print on demand system. Yes, and at first it
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: was taking quite a few months, but they've gotten better
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: and better with each print on demand printing session that
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: they've done, so hopefully they're able to learn from that
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: experience and able to get the game found shipped out
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: equally quickly.
- 1:19:48Speaker 6: It makes me think, for example, how rya Game just
- 1:19:50Speaker 6: started with their riftbound and you As Games as their
- 1:19:53Speaker 6: publishing partner. Yeah, they're the ones that are taking care
- 1:19:56Speaker 6: of the distribution in China and here so is not
- 1:20:01Speaker 6: Ryot Games themselves that's doing more most of the work.
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: I think the most recent print on demand orders went
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: really well, so I think that's a good sign. But yeah,
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: I would say to help anyone who's also worried about
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: the every four months and backing a game Found is
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: if you look at it how they're wanting to set
- 1:20:27Speaker 4: it up, you don't have to back the game Found.
- 1:20:30Speaker 4: I kind of see that as for like.
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: You can still buy it in the stores in the
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: store should still be available in all the stores that
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: you got.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: Unless there's something super cool in the game Found that
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: we don't know about yet. But yeah, well if you
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: want uses, yeah, well maybe for this one. I mean,
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: I'm sure each one will have its own special little shinn'tig.
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: So yeah, I think in a perfect world, what I
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: would hope a store would do is to help them
- 1:21:00Speaker 4: out and help their customers out. They just say, like,
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: how many people want to buy Altered from us, and
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: will buy that much plus maybe a tiny bit extra,
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: and then they won't have any stocks just sitting there.
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: Everyone will be able to still go to their same
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: store and get Altered, and everyone will be happy, and
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: the people who are die hard will back the game
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: Found at whatever level they can afford.
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: But I mean, to be with you too. Just is
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: coming from someone who, like I have no way to
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: buy Altered. I can't go to my local game store
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: and just buy it. Like, this is actually what dexter?
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: What number one? You don't live in Wisconsin.
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: There are stores around you that sell the game.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: Yes, there are stores around me. The closest store is
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: an hour away.
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: Yeah that's my name.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: My name is not Cole Robbie. I will not be
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: traveling an hour to spend money. I'm old next, Okay,
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: I'm I'm old man, right, I'm not spending I'm not
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: traveling an hour to spend money.
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: Yeah, was traveling with like four hours to go to
- 1:22:24Speaker 5: ages when he was doing it.
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: And I can understand why he didn't want to do it, right,
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: But like this is good for people like me who
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: don't have an LGS to actually be able to buy cards.
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, it gives you a chance to get I
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: can get I can.
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: Get a box or two and be happy. Right, So yep,
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: I think all this is probably a good thing overall,
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: it's going to be for the better. Again, I have
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: plenty of experience with FFG and ASTHMA day to know that,
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: like they're just the worst. So if you're if you're like, oh,
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: you know what's going to happen. Only good things can
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: happen when you leave.
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: Asthma day yep, I think overall net positive. But as
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: Felix mentioned twenty minutes ago, where now at an hour
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: and a half, I just know two very small things
- 1:23:20Speaker 4: to tell you, and then let whatever else anyone else
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: wants to say. Demo Deck Tournament. They are bringing it back.
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: It'll be on the twenty first, which is a sun
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: okay nice yep for Skybound Odyssey, so there will be
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: some new.
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: Do we have access to the decks yet?
- 1:23:40Speaker 4: I think you will not get access to them until
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: the twentieth at the absolute earliest.
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: Okay, cool, looks like I'll need to start practicing.
- 1:23:48Speaker 4: Then sign ups will open on Thursday the eighteenth. I
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: think it's going to be the same five hundred and
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: twelve person cap, but I am not one hundred percent
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: on that. I can one hundred percent tell you that
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: there will be a stream on the A Wall YouTube
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: and I will be there and yeah, that'll be a
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: lot of fun. And then the current season ends on
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: September twenty fifth, So get your Adventure pass points in
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: where you can online with events like a wall and
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: you see ace parent time a new tournament that's come
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: out has Adventure Pass, and then Hero's Guide to as
- 1:24:37Speaker 4: Gartha runs one on Thursday as well, So do you
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: need Adventure Pass? Do that? Season's almost over? And Worlds
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: tickets are actually selling really really well and they are
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: having to open and release more tickets for like TVC.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: And that's how you know when something's doing well, like
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: they're like, oh man, the biggest of out of the
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: year we got, we got to actually print more tickets,
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: right yep.
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: So but yeah, that's that's it from me. No Patreon question.
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: And then October fifteenth and the game look for the
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: game found on October fifteenth at.
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: Least more information on it, Yes, yes, yep.
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: So all you dooming gloom naysayers, I don't know. I okay,
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: real quick, before we get out of here, what are
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: the doom and Gloom naysayers saying? Like, I guess I
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: haven't really seen a lot of like next towards this.
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: The really the most frequent concern was how it would
- 1:25:40Speaker 4: work with lgs IS, which I think was.
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: How the LGSS would still get product, and like if
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: you can still buy from them. Even people were thinking
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: that the pre orders were going to be only two
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: direct fans and the stores weren't going to have anything,
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: and everyone was freaking out. But that's not the case
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: at all. The stores will get your own chance to
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: pre order stuff.
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: Isn't It isn't right Like there are going to keep
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: people out there who just buy everything they want through
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: the through the.
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: Game and they don't go to lgs at all. That is,
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: I think that those people will be far few and
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: far between. Most people will still buy at least at
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: least a large amount of product from their lgs.
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: I think more there were not. The only fear I
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: would have is that then the game founds don't do
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: so well. But again, if they're running it more as
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: a pre release as opposed to a Again, this is
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: a good question, like what are we setting the cap
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: at ten grand? You know, at what point do we
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: consider game found of failure? Why why did we go
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: a game found? Oh man, we need to figure out
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: this whole thing.
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: I guarantee you it will get funded. Yeah, so fun
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: it will be funded. Yeah.
- 1:26:48Speaker 4: So that was the movie concern. The second most frequent
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: concern I saw was the scarcity mentioned and like no reprints.
- 1:26:58Speaker 4: I don't think it's as much of a concern as
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: people make it because there is the game found and
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: then stores can still go direct and as Wookie let
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: me know, like Southern Hobby and things like that will
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: still be able to Like.
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: Yeah, they're not exclusive with Asthma Dae anymore, right, because
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: I'm assuming they sign That's normally how ASMADE runs. They
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: sign exclusive contracts, right, So now you've got people like
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: Southern Hobby and Diamond and like all these other distribution companies.
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: Now you know, distribution companies that the rest of the
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: world uses, right, because like your your smallest to your
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: small game stores. I hate to tell you aren't buying
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: from Asthma day. They buy from your Diamonds, from your Southern,
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: from your know all these other like again, smaller I
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: guess smaller distribution companies, not even smaller because like Diamond
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: and Southern are huge, but.
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: Like Southern already carries altered as well, so I assume
- 1:28:06Speaker 4: that interesting.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: Yeah, there's also.
- 1:28:12Speaker 6: That the article does say that they're looking into reprints
- 1:28:15Speaker 6: in the future for specific cards, and.
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: If there's any single card on the marketplace that's way
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: too expensive, then they'll reprint it or figure out a
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: way to make it so that all players have access
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: to something and it's not a problem.
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: And that's what a lot of TV see.
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: And you know what, I don't know if I.
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: Like that, Well, you wanted some cards to be really expensive?
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, the reason Magic is and I hate
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: it like yes, we are our and half. And the
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: reason magic Is does so well is because of the
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: amount of the secondary market they are allowed to I
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: don't know, quote unquote control, Right, all these reprints, all
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: these specials, but like all these older cards that they
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: still have yet to reprint, right, that creates a demand,
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: a demand issue. Right. People are demanding them because they
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: want to play with them, which makes them expensive. So
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: when they finally do decide, well, now's the time to
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: reprint it. Right, those packs sell like gangbusters because everyone's
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: hoping crossing their fingers out of a fifteen dollars pack. Right.
- 1:29:32Speaker 4: I think they have to definitely strike a balance. But
- 1:29:36Speaker 4: the third thing was people just saying the game is dead,
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: which people have been saying that for weeks.
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: Justic's been dying thirty years, right, Magic's been dying since
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: ice age. So and if you don't know what ice
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: age is.
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: Just.
- 1:29:56Speaker 7: Just just no go back to school.
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: There's the doom and gloomers are always around.
- 1:30:05Speaker 4: Yeah, and to be honest, it was like a full
- 1:30:08Speaker 4: day of like chaos and people worrying. And then after
- 1:30:14Speaker 4: the Q.
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: And it came every time news like this comes out,
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: like yeah, we got big news, and then all of
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: a sudden, it's like, well that's it, fucking games done, bye, guys.
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: It's like, what are you talking about? They just said
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: they're releasing another set. Yep, that' said game's over against
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: this game's down.
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: But the discord is back to normal. Everyone's talking about
- 1:30:35Speaker 4: the new cards, the wcqs that have happened. Shout out
- 1:30:39Speaker 4: to freaking our boy, all of the marbles who qualified
- 1:30:44Speaker 4: for Worlds on Novenka today.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: All right, all the marbles, let's go. Let's make Lyra
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: great again. Yep, you can buy those shirts eventually on
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: our spreadshirt.
- 1:30:55Speaker 4: I think out of the last four or five we've
- 1:30:58Speaker 4: had Novenka, Fenn and a Rock all get qualification spots.
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: So super dope.
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: Yeah again.
- 1:31:10Speaker 4: Muna finally finally got their first person qualified. They were second,
- 1:31:16Speaker 4: but since it was two qualifiers they got in, so
- 1:31:21Speaker 4: it was Tasia.
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: Watch it be written.
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: Rine festival can do some stuff if you get good
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: festival nies man.

- 1:32:20Speaker 2: no altered corner gear, but eventually maybe there will be.
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: And then head over to w dot gg use code
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: draw better for ten percent off your clean energy for
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: those long BGA sessions where you have to be up

- 1:32:38Speaker 2: But with that being said, we will see you all
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: next week later.

- 1:32:56Speaker 1: and that'll fit I coming down. I'm trying to stay out,
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: stay up, phil A sun is coming out. I'm on
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: my way out, way out, and I don't feel like coming.
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: I don't want to go back home. I'll keep going
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: the all night longnight. I don't want to go back home.

- 1:33:19Speaker 1: I'll relate to the fast
