The Golden State Warriors faced the Philadelphia 76ers at the Spectrum in Philadelphia on November 25, 1977.

The Golden State Warriors had been to the Western Conference Finals for two consecutive seasons, following their NBA championship in 1975.

They were coached by Al Adles and were off to a slow start with a 9-9 record, but their lineup included three future Hall of Famers,
