Transcript
- 0:58Speaker 1: Hello, everyone, Happy Wednesday. I hope everyone watching is having
- 1:04Speaker 1: a good week so far and that you are staying
- 1:07Speaker 1: cool if you were in the line of all of
- 1:11Speaker 1: this crazy heat wave. I am Terry True Crime and
- 1:16Speaker 1: Welcome to Midday Missing, where I cover current missing person
- 1:20Speaker 1: cases in cases that I think just need more attention.
- 1:24Speaker 1: So for those of you that are new here currently,
- 1:27Speaker 1: True Crime and Wine Time Productions produces the podcast True
- 1:32Speaker 1: Crime and Wine Time, the Hey host show the investigation
- 1:36Speaker 1: into the disappearance of Chase Lackey Night Court Midday Missing
- 1:42Speaker 1: transcripts and I think that's all right now because we
- 1:47Speaker 1: have a couple of new series that we're going to
- 1:48Speaker 1: be announcing soon and I've got to remember not to
- 1:52Speaker 1: save them yet, so I almost messed up, But that's okay.
- 1:57Speaker 1: We stream lives several days a week, so be sure
- 1:59Speaker 1: to subscribed to our page so that you do not
- 2:02Speaker 1: miss anything. Guys, I'm going to apologize up front that
- 2:08Speaker 1: I'm going to get a little irritated today, Okay, so
- 2:11Speaker 1: you're all just going to need to give me some grace.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Now, first, I want to tell you about Nicole Baldwin.
- 2:20Speaker 1: She is a forty one year old mother of three.
- 2:23Speaker 1: She was last seen on November two, twenty twenty three,
- 2:27Speaker 1: at her home in Mount Door, Florida. Guys, her mystery,
- 2:32Speaker 1: her mystery. Her disappearance still remains a mystery now. Nicole
- 2:37Speaker 1: was last observed by one of her daughters leaving the
- 2:40Speaker 1: house under some unusual circumstances. Okay, she departed without taking
- 2:46Speaker 1: any of her personal belongings, including her cell phone, apple watch,
- 2:50Speaker 1: and her purse. And guys, she was dressed in a
- 2:54Speaker 1: nightgown and was barefoot, so she left behind. I mean,
- 2:59Speaker 1: it's just purple to everyone that what has happened to her?
- 3:03Speaker 1: She left in that nightgown, She's fearfooted, and her family
- 3:08Speaker 1: is deeply concerned. Oh guys, sorry, my nose is running
- 3:12Speaker 1: today with all these allergies. Now, guys, the community response
- 3:16Speaker 1: to Nicole's disappearance has been heartfelt and persistent. They have
- 3:22Speaker 1: done an amazing job of getting the word out there.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Now.
- 3:25Speaker 1: The Mountdoor Police Department, alongside numerous volunteers, have conducted multiple
- 3:31Speaker 1: searches in the surrounding area. But guys, these extensive efforts
- 3:36Speaker 1: have yet to yield any significant leads. But despite the challenges,
- 3:41Speaker 1: local residents continue to organize searches and hold vigils to
- 3:46Speaker 1: raise awareness and keep Nichole's case in the public eye.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And guys, that's what it takes. You've got to keep
- 3:53Speaker 1: it out there.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Now.
- 3:55Speaker 1: During the course of the investigation, police conducted a thorough
- 3:59Speaker 1: search of Nichole's home, right expected, but it led to
- 4:04Speaker 1: an unexpected development. Several items were taken into evidence, including computers. Now,
- 4:13Speaker 1: upon examination of these computers by law enforcement, they discover
- 4:17Speaker 1: child pornography, which resulted in the arrest of Nichole's husband,
- 4:22Speaker 1: Brett Baldwin, on federal charges. Brett was subsequently indicted on
- 4:28Speaker 1: four accounts of possessing images depicting children under twelve engaged
- 4:33Speaker 1: in sexual acts. Now, guys, they have stress this has
- 4:38Speaker 1: nothing to do with Nicole's disappearance, just saying that while
- 4:44Speaker 1: going through stuff looking for clues about her, they found
- 4:48Speaker 1: this information, they acted on it, and they did say
- 4:51Speaker 1: that the timingness has added a little bit of complexity
- 4:56Speaker 1: to this case. So wanted to just put that out there.
- 4:59Speaker 1: But also when l you know, it doesn't have anything
- 5:02Speaker 1: to do with her disappearance. Now, in a surprising turn
- 5:06Speaker 1: of events, about three months after Nicole went missing, police
- 5:10Speaker 1: conducted a search on the home of one of the
- 5:13Speaker 1: community volunteers who had been very active involved in the
- 5:19Speaker 1: search efforts. This volunteer who has been instrumental in organizing
- 5:23Speaker 1: searches and raising awareness. She reported that police examined her
- 5:28Speaker 1: phone and electronic devices. They were suspecting that she was
- 5:33Speaker 1: finding information, possibly that she wasn't sharing, But she maintains
- 5:38Speaker 1: that she has done nothing wrong and she is not
- 5:41Speaker 1: withholding any information. Okay, but I couldn't find anything where
- 5:47Speaker 1: the police disclosed why they did this search, which makes
- 5:52Speaker 1: me a little suspicious, and it definitely adds some uncertainty
- 5:56Speaker 1: to this right But what I can see, she is
- 6:00Speaker 1: still out there trying to find Nicole.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Now. As the months have passed, the.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Nature of this investigation took a very serious turn. In
- 6:11Speaker 1: April of this year, the police announced they were reclassifying
- 6:15Speaker 1: Nicole's disappearance as a homicide. However, they have not revealed
- 6:22Speaker 1: the specific evidence or reason behind this shift from a
- 6:26Speaker 1: missing person case to a homicide investigation. Just went missing
- 6:30Speaker 1: in two thousand and three. It's kind of quick. While
- 6:33Speaker 1: this is alarming to me, but I also have to
- 6:37Speaker 1: say it brings hope that me more resources and attention
- 6:42Speaker 1: will be dedicated to finding answers, because, as we've learned
- 6:46Speaker 1: since we've started Midday, missing police a lot of times
- 6:51Speaker 1: don't do a lot with missing person cases, especially as
- 6:54Speaker 1: an adult, and by reclassifying it as a homicide, it
- 7:00Speaker 1: means they're going to look at it in a lot
- 7:04Speaker 1: different way. Also makes me think that they have some
- 7:08Speaker 1: information and evidence that they're not sharing with us. They
- 7:11Speaker 1: did tell the family before they made this change, so
- 7:15Speaker 1: I'm hoping they shared that with them. But it's also
- 7:18Speaker 1: important to note that cases like this are often unpredictable.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:23Speaker 1: In similar situations, as we just heard about last week,
- 7:27Speaker 1: individuals believe to be deceased have later been found alive. Okay,
- 7:32Speaker 1: So unless they know something specific that they're not sharing,
- 7:36Speaker 1: there is still that possibility.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Now.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Nicole's daughters, who are desperately missing their mother, they are
- 7:43Speaker 1: still clinging to hope that she will be found alive
- 7:46Speaker 1: and they are pleading for her safe return.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Police have said.
- 7:51Speaker 1: They do not believe Nicole lefte voluntarily, and they say
- 7:55Speaker 1: foul play is involved. Okay, as I sorry, guys, As
- 8:00Speaker 1: I have said before, maybe she went outside on her own,
- 8:05Speaker 1: but it's a crazy world, something could have happened, someone
- 8:08Speaker 1: could have taken her from there. So a ten thousand
- 8:12Speaker 1: dollars reward is being offered for any information that leads
- 8:16Speaker 1: to the resolution of this case. So if you have
- 8:19Speaker 1: any information or cart regarding the Cole Baldwin, please contact
- 8:23Speaker 1: crime Line at eight hundred four two three eight four
- 8:28Speaker 1: seven seven and remember your tip could be the key
- 8:31Speaker 1: that brings the coal home and provides closure to her
- 8:35Speaker 1: grieving family.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Now, you can.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Also stay up to date by following the Help Find
- 8:40Speaker 1: the Cole Baldwin Facebook page, as well as sharing the
- 8:44Speaker 1: missing person flyers from our podcast page or from Terry
- 8:49Speaker 1: True Crime Facebook page. Guys, allergies are horrible here, and
- 8:56Speaker 1: I took some decongestins and I'm having to drink a
- 8:59Speaker 1: lot of water because I'm feeling a little dehydrated. Now, guys,
- 9:06Speaker 1: heads up, this next case has my head spinning, and
- 9:10Speaker 1: not in a good way.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Okay.
- 9:12Speaker 1: If you follow the podcast True Crime and Mind Time,
- 9:16Speaker 1: or if you've seen or listened to the Special Investigation
- 9:19Speaker 1: into the Disappearance of Chase Lackey, then you've heard me
- 9:22Speaker 1: talk about how Harris County Sheriff's Office totally fed up
- 9:26Speaker 1: on his case. They never treated his apartment as a
- 9:29Speaker 1: crime scene, and let's be honest, they've never really worked
- 9:33Speaker 1: this case. Well, this next case is also a case
- 9:37Speaker 1: in Harris County, and in my opinion, they fed up
- 9:41Speaker 1: even more. Okay, I also want to call out the
- 9:45Speaker 1: Houston media in news channels, I only found one news
- 9:49Speaker 1: report done by Fox twenty six, and that was the
- 9:52Speaker 1: day after this person was reported missing. That's it Harris
- 9:57Speaker 1: County Sheriff's office posted at one time that I found
- 10:01Speaker 1: and that's just not cool. Now, this case is in Channelview, Texas.
- 10:07Speaker 1: It's right next to north Shore, where I grew up,
- 10:10Speaker 1: and I got to think him when I was writing this.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I've always wondered why Northshore was called Houston, but channel View,
- 10:16Speaker 1: right down the road was channel View instead of Houston.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Oh well, so I spent a lot of hours between
- 10:24Speaker 1: Northshore and Channelview. Okay, I even went to church there.
- 10:27Speaker 1: My mom went to church there. So my very first
- 10:31Speaker 1: boyfriend was from Channelview. So guess I'm saying I know
- 10:34Speaker 1: the area well, or I did know that area well.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I also grew up thinking that if anything went wrong,
- 10:42Speaker 1: that Harris County Sheriff's Department would be Johnny on the
- 10:45Speaker 1: spot and help. I always felt safe because Harris County
- 10:51Speaker 1: was known to do their job. I was either a
- 10:55Speaker 1: naive kid or things have challenged changed. Okay, Now, not
- 11:01Speaker 1: all of the Harris County Sheriff's deputies are bad. I
- 11:04Speaker 1: have a couple that are friends and they do their jobs.
- 11:07Speaker 1: They're not a missing person's but they do their jobs.
- 11:10Speaker 1: The problem is the higher ups and the lack of
- 11:14Speaker 1: focus on missing person cases, especially cases when it's not
- 11:18Speaker 1: a young child or a white female who's attractive and pure.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I mean, let's be honest. If you're a white female
- 11:26Speaker 1: that has an imperfect life, that's hard that you're not
- 11:28Speaker 1: going to get much help. Same if you're a male. Okay,
- 11:32Speaker 1: now I will say maybe if you're connected or have
- 11:35Speaker 1: a lot of money, I bet you could get help.
- 11:37Speaker 1: No matter what you look like or the life you lead.
- 11:41Speaker 1: And when I say an imperfect life, I am talking
- 11:44Speaker 1: about maybe you've had a criminal past before, maybe you
- 11:48Speaker 1: have a DWI, maybe you smoked pot, Maybe you are
- 11:53Speaker 1: a topless dancer, maybe you are a sex worker. You're
- 11:56Speaker 1: going to not get the same attention and guys, that
- 12:01Speaker 1: is wrong, Okay. Michael James Calvert went missing from Channelview, Texas.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Like I said, it's part of the Houston Metroplex on
- 12:09Speaker 1: January twenty first, twenty sixteen. Michael was twenty nine years
- 12:14Speaker 1: old at the time of his disappearance. He was last
- 12:16Speaker 1: seen on Coolidge Street in Channel View. Now, Michael left
- 12:21Speaker 1: behind his vehicle, wallet, and other personal belongings. But guys,
- 12:27Speaker 1: he also left behind his young children and his partner.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I'm not sure if they were married common law, but
- 12:34Speaker 1: he did leave behind a special someone. Now Michael has
- 12:38Speaker 1: Cameron and Chloe tattooed in the middle of his back
- 12:41Speaker 1: and the word Toyota tattooed on his left shoulder. I
- 12:45Speaker 1: did see posts where people called him Toyota, so I'm
- 12:48Speaker 1: thinking that's kind of a nickname. And he had a
- 12:51Speaker 1: scar above his left eyebrow. Guys, that's it. That is
- 12:58Speaker 1: all you can find online.
- 13:00Speaker 2: That's it.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Besides the one report by Fox News twenty six There's
- 13:06Speaker 1: been zilt done by the media, and I want to
- 13:09Speaker 1: publicly shame the Houston News channels. Okay, Michael has small children,
- 13:17Speaker 1: and he left behind a loving partner. He's also someone's son,
- 13:21Speaker 1: a loved one, a friend. He deserves to be found
- 13:25Speaker 1: and he deserves. For the Sheriff's department to look for
- 13:29Speaker 1: him in the media, Damn Will should have reported more
- 13:33Speaker 1: on him. The fact that that is all I could
- 13:36Speaker 1: find is disgusting.
- 13:40Speaker 2: And let me tell you it's not because of the family.
- 13:43Speaker 1: They have a Facebook page, they did a get together
- 13:46Speaker 1: for his birthday, continually posting, and are not getting any
- 13:51Speaker 1: help from Harris County or the news guys. That compounds
- 13:57Speaker 1: a family's tragedy even more. And I don't understand why
- 14:03Speaker 1: anyone would want to hurt a family who is already
- 14:08Speaker 1: going through something so terrible. Okay, that is beyond reasoning
- 14:15Speaker 1: to me. Makes my head spin, and it makes me
- 14:18Speaker 1: ashamed to say that I used to think they were
- 14:22Speaker 1: one of the premier law enforcement groups. I like I said,
- 14:27Speaker 1: Maybe I was naive. I would have said Harris County
- 14:29Speaker 1: Sheriffs or even better than the rangers.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Tells you I was wrong. Okay.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Now, I don't know why they can say they're understaff.
- 14:39Speaker 1: They can tell me whatever they want to say. But
- 14:42Speaker 1: as we've learned with Chase Lackey's case, they do not
- 14:46Speaker 1: keep the parents updated. They do not I am still
- 14:49Speaker 1: waiting a call back on a callback from the new
- 14:52Speaker 1: detective on the cold case. Still haven't heard anything back
- 14:56Speaker 1: that tells you they're not keeping families informed and they
- 14:59Speaker 1: are not helping these families, and that's wrong. So I
- 15:03Speaker 1: am giving you all a call to action. Besides just
- 15:08Speaker 1: asking for you to share Michael's missing personflyers, I'm going
- 15:12Speaker 1: to ask you all to email the Harris County Sheriff
- 15:16Speaker 1: at Gonzales and let him know that it is not
- 15:20Speaker 1: acceptable that he and his officers do not work for
- 15:25Speaker 1: all of the citizens in his area, because if they did,
- 15:30Speaker 1: Michael's family would have gotten more assistance from them, and
- 15:33Speaker 1: then the media would have reported more on his disappearance. Now,
- 15:38Speaker 1: you can email him at Sheriff Gonzales at Sheriff dot
- 15:46Speaker 1: hc TX dot net. I will post and tag them
- 15:53Speaker 1: after we finished today, because maybe, just maybe, if he
- 15:58Speaker 1: gets a lot of email, a lot of tags on
- 16:01Speaker 1: social media, maybe he will instruct his team to get
- 16:05Speaker 1: off their ass and work on Michael's disappearance. His family
- 16:11Speaker 1: deserves for him to be found and they deserve to
- 16:15Speaker 1: be treated with respect. And what am I talking about.
- 16:18Speaker 1: When I say respect, it means you help them, you
- 16:22Speaker 1: keep in contact with them. I don't care if it's
- 16:26Speaker 1: a quick voicemail once a month. Hey, just want you
- 16:30Speaker 1: to know we haven't forgotten about Michael. No new tips,
- 16:34Speaker 1: but we haven't forgotten.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:38Speaker 1: How hard is that to do? Tell me, Harris County,
- 16:42Speaker 1: how hard is that to do?
- 16:44Speaker 2: Tell you this.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I am very glad that my granddaughter, who lives in
- 16:49Speaker 1: the Houston area, does not live in the Harris County
- 16:51Speaker 1: district because if something happened to her, I can tell
- 16:55Speaker 1: you Sheriff Gonzalez would have me behind bars pretty damn
- 16:58Speaker 1: quick because he would not want to mess with me
- 17:03Speaker 1: if something happens. So I also want to ask you
- 17:07Speaker 1: to go follow the missing Michael J. Calvert page on Facebook.
- 17:12Speaker 1: It is run by his loved ones. Let's show them
- 17:16Speaker 1: that we care and let's get the word out. Since
- 17:19Speaker 1: the news stations and Harris County Sheriff's Department is once
- 17:24Speaker 1: again failing one of their citizens. The fact that that
- 17:29Speaker 1: is all I can say about a man who went
- 17:32Speaker 1: missing is horrible and they should be ashamed of themselves. Sorry, guys,
- 17:46Speaker 1: I skipped a lot of the f words and a
- 17:48Speaker 1: lot of the stuff because I have goosebumps and if
- 17:53Speaker 1: I had the time to investigate Michael Calvert's disappearance. Like
- 17:59Speaker 1: we've done with Chase, I would do it in a heartbeat,
- 18:02Speaker 1: but as we know, I have a full time job.
- 18:04Speaker 1: But with that being said, it doesn't mean I'm still
- 18:08Speaker 1: not going to do some snooping around. I'm still not
- 18:11Speaker 1: going to ask some of our wonderful volunteers to maybe help.
- 18:14Speaker 1: And I also want to tell people if you know
- 18:17Speaker 1: something about what happened to Michael Calvert and you don't
- 18:21Speaker 1: want to call Harris County because you think they're not
- 18:23Speaker 1: going to do shit, you can call the tip line
- 18:26Speaker 1: we have set up for Chase. Just please say that
- 18:29Speaker 1: you're calling about Michael, so we know that numbers five one, two, five, five, three, nine,
- 18:36Speaker 1: four eight four. I will make sure that tip gets
- 18:40Speaker 1: into the hands of somebody who will do something with it.
- 18:45Speaker 1: So I want Michael's family to know just because Harris
- 18:49Speaker 1: County and the Houston News media has let you down,
- 18:53Speaker 1: I personally and will make sure we post and can
- 18:57Speaker 1: share as much as we can, and we have a
- 18:59Speaker 1: great community.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I will be asking.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Our Discord group and our Facebook group, which has over
- 19:04Speaker 1: five thousand followers, to get the word out. I grew
- 19:08Speaker 1: up in that area, still know a lot of people. Okay,
- 19:12Speaker 1: and that number again is five, one, two, five, five, three, nine,
- 19:17Speaker 1: four eight four. Okay, take a dream, and I'm going
- 19:23Speaker 1: to try to calm down.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Now today.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Instead of ending with a happy story, I want to
- 19:32Speaker 1: share with you some tools and some things that you
- 19:37Speaker 1: can do if you have a loved one who goes missing. You.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I would love to say that there is a handbook,
- 19:46Speaker 1: but just like having a baby, there's not a handbook.
- 19:48Speaker 1: There's some tips and suggestions, but there is not a
- 19:52Speaker 1: definite way to go. And I want to say, we
- 19:56Speaker 1: all think it will not happen to us, but as
- 19:59Speaker 1: I have learn since I decided to break my rule
- 20:03Speaker 1: of never getting involved in a missing person case, I
- 20:07Speaker 1: am so thankful and grateful that I got involved in
- 20:09Speaker 1: Chase's case. And I am shocked to find out how
- 20:14Speaker 1: many people go missing. And we need to think about that. Okay,
- 20:20Speaker 1: we know it can happen to anyone. And I will
- 20:23Speaker 1: type this up and put this in a document format
- 20:26Speaker 1: and share it on our social in case anybody wants it,
- 20:30Speaker 1: print it, whatever, because I know just listening to it,
- 20:34Speaker 1: if you're driving or whatever, you can't write it down.
- 20:37Speaker 1: The first thing you want to do is contact the
- 20:40Speaker 1: police immediately. As soon as you realize your loved one
- 20:43Speaker 1: is missing and you verified they're not, you know, with
- 20:48Speaker 1: a family member or friend, contact the police without delay.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Do not wait twenty four hours. Okay, even if authority
- 20:56Speaker 1: suggests to you then an adult has the right to
- 20:58Speaker 1: go missing, or that your teenagers runaway, stand firm and
- 21:03Speaker 1: clearly explain to them why this is not the case.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Explain to them how much your loved one keeps in
- 21:11Speaker 1: touch by phone, text messages, how your teenager was looking
- 21:16Speaker 1: forward to going to a dance, whatever it is. Do
- 21:22Speaker 1: not let them just push you aside. Okay, you keep
- 21:26Speaker 1: doing it. Now, you're going to want to prepare the
- 21:29Speaker 1: essential information to give to them and that you're going
- 21:33Speaker 1: to use. You want to have a current photo of
- 21:35Speaker 1: the missing person ready with a detailed description. That detailed
- 21:41Speaker 1: description needs to include tattoos, scars, you can put piercings.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Just remember if they come out over time may not
- 21:50Speaker 1: be as noticeable. Their date of birth, the date and
- 21:55Speaker 1: time they were last seen, and where if for example
- 22:01Speaker 1: Chase's case, he was known to be in his apartment
- 22:04Speaker 1: and he texted someone at night, that's the kind of
- 22:07Speaker 1: information but they also got the information of when he
- 22:10Speaker 1: was last seen by somebody, description of the clothes they
- 22:14Speaker 1: were last seen wearing. If you have them who they
- 22:18Speaker 1: were with, Were they with John Doe from ABC and
- 22:24Speaker 1: you saw them, you want to give that information. You
- 22:28Speaker 1: want to give them their social media account user names. Also,
- 22:33Speaker 1: do not log into their accounts yourself. Do not do
- 22:38Speaker 1: that if you have the passwords. I know how tempting
- 22:41Speaker 1: it's going to be. Don't do it because that could
- 22:45Speaker 1: prevent the police from using that for leads. And if
- 22:49Speaker 1: foul play happens and it ever goes to court, that
- 22:53Speaker 1: information will not be able to be used if a
- 22:55Speaker 1: loved one got in there. So just share their screen names,
- 22:59Speaker 1: their Facebook book, their Instagram, their Twitter x whatever it's called,
- 23:04Speaker 1: their Snapchat, share that, share their vehicle information, what it
- 23:09Speaker 1: looks like, and the license plate if they are a
- 23:13Speaker 1: tribal affiliation. Because guys, we have a lot of Indigenous
- 23:17Speaker 1: people who go missing and they do not get the resources.
- 23:22Speaker 1: It's even worse than what Harris County does. Okay, guys,
- 23:26Speaker 1: all of that is going to be crucial for your
- 23:28Speaker 1: missing person report. Now you don't have to have all
- 23:31Speaker 1: of that when you make that report. But just know
- 23:34Speaker 1: the more information you give them, the better they can
- 23:38Speaker 1: get started. Okay, but don't hold off on the report
- 23:41Speaker 1: because you need their license plate number. Go ahead and
- 23:44Speaker 1: give them what you have.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Okay.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Then you're going to want to utilize national resources. You're
- 23:50Speaker 1: going to want to contact NamUs. They're the National Missing
- 23:53Speaker 1: and Unidentified Person System.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 23:57Speaker 1: When your police department gives you that case number, you're
- 24:00Speaker 1: going to give that to NamUs. They will get that posted. Now,
- 24:04Speaker 1: if your loved one is a minor, also reach out
- 24:07Speaker 1: to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children also
- 24:11Speaker 1: known as nc MIS and guys. Leverage social media. Believe
- 24:17Speaker 1: it or not, social media can be bad. There's a
- 24:19Speaker 1: lot of trolls, but you can get the word out.
- 24:24Speaker 1: So get it out as quickly as possible. Create a
- 24:29Speaker 1: dedicated mage for the missing person. Encourage others to share
- 24:33Speaker 1: it widely. Go share that page and any information to
- 24:39Speaker 1: any Facebook page or Instagram page for your community. Now
- 24:45Speaker 1: you're going to want to organize a search. If you
- 24:47Speaker 1: know they were seen walking down the road on Beltway eight,
- 24:51Speaker 1: gather family and fringe start searching. Okay, do not wait
- 24:56Speaker 1: for police. Also, go look in locations your loved one frequents.
- 25:00Speaker 1: If you know your loved one likes to go walk
- 25:03Speaker 1: around this particular lake every day, go check that lake.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Look around there. Maybe they went for a walk. Maybe
- 25:11Speaker 1: that happened, So check those places.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Okay.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Also, if they use a location sharing app like Life
- 25:18Speaker 1: three sixty or the Apple, try to determine their last
- 25:23Speaker 1: known location. Hopefully they've shared it with someone. Now engage
- 25:29Speaker 1: local and media. Don't wait for the police to contact
- 25:33Speaker 1: the media. You need to take the lead. You need
- 25:37Speaker 1: to alert your local news stations immediately.
- 25:39Speaker 2: You need to.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Sell them on the person and why this person it's
- 25:45Speaker 1: so important that they be found. They're a mom, they're
- 25:50Speaker 1: a son, they love to rescue dogs. Whatever it is
- 25:55Speaker 1: about that person. They're looking for that story. So get
- 26:00Speaker 1: it to them. And guys, if you don't get a response,
- 26:05Speaker 1: keep reaching out until you do. Tag them on Facebook,
- 26:09Speaker 1: tag them on Twitter, tag them everywhere. You can find
- 26:13Speaker 1: email addresses for the news desk. You can find phone numbers.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Somebody put together a group, somebody handle that. Social media, okay,
- 26:23Speaker 1: but expand your reach. Reach out to podcast, social media
- 26:28Speaker 1: influencers and platforms dedicated to missing persons, especially those in
- 26:33Speaker 1: your area.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Their networks can help amplify the search for your loved ones. Also,
- 26:40Speaker 1: you're going to want to create a missing person flyer.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Those are you that are in the Houston area. Grizzyhood News,
- 26:48Speaker 1: phenomenal Person. She won't put up a missing person flyer
- 26:52Speaker 1: unless it has the police report number and the police
- 26:55Speaker 1: phone number. Get it out to social media, get it
- 26:58Speaker 1: out to your community.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Now, I put together just a quick list of organizations
- 27:04Speaker 1: you can reach out to. You can, of course give
- 27:07Speaker 1: it a Google or Google it and you can find
- 27:10Speaker 1: them in your area and national ones. Texas Equisearch, if
- 27:14Speaker 1: you're anywhere in Texas, they are to go. They are
- 27:17Speaker 1: the go to bomb. Tim Doesn't Amate, amazing job, the
- 27:22Speaker 1: Charlie Project, the Dough Network, like the Way Missing, the
- 27:28Speaker 1: Gappy Potato Foundation, especially if you suspect domestic violence is involved,
- 27:34Speaker 1: a lot of resources and guys, there are many many more.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I will cost you check to make sure they are legitimate.
- 27:42Speaker 1: If you find them on Facebook, go ahead and google
- 27:44Speaker 1: them make sure. Okay, there's a lot of not great
- 27:48Speaker 1: people out there and they take advantage. Now, let's talk
- 27:52Speaker 1: about the steps you can personally take to help your
- 27:56Speaker 1: loved one find you if you ever go missing. I
- 28:01Speaker 1: know you're thinking, why do I want to do that?
- 28:03Speaker 1: But guys, one of the most proactive things you can
- 28:05Speaker 1: do is to create and if I go missing folder.
- 28:09Speaker 1: You're going to want to keep that folder both physically
- 28:12Speaker 1: and in a secure place digitally, and ensure your loved
- 28:16Speaker 1: one knows where it is, or provide them with a
- 28:18Speaker 1: copy like my case, best friend husbandleh has it and
- 28:23Speaker 1: best friend. Okay, here's some things to include in your
- 28:28Speaker 1: if I go missing folder. A recent photo. Include a
- 28:32Speaker 1: recent photo of yourself looking straight ahead, but also with
- 28:36Speaker 1: the profile view.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Ensure the photo.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Clearly shows you know your full head, including your hair
- 28:42Speaker 1: and eye color. Tattoo documentation. If you have tattoos, take
- 28:48Speaker 1: clear photos of each one and note their exact locations.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Label the photos with that information.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Also document any birth matth, birthmarks, scars, or other unique
- 29:03Speaker 1: traits that.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Can help identify you.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Height and weight include your current height and weight, and Ladies,
- 29:12Speaker 1: it's important to be honest here because accurate information is crucial.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Don't shave off ten fifteen pounds, okay, put your real
- 29:21Speaker 1: weight now. DNA information if you've done a DNA test
- 29:28Speaker 1: with a service like twenty three and meters or ancestry
- 29:31Speaker 1: dot com. Include a copy of the DNA report okay.
- 29:36Speaker 1: If you haven't done that, you can pull several hairs
- 29:40Speaker 1: from your scalp. Make sure the root is attached, place
- 29:44Speaker 1: it in a sealed ziploc baggie and put it in
- 29:47Speaker 1: that folder.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Okay.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Social media accounts. You want to list all of your
- 29:54Speaker 1: active social media accounts and scream names now if you're comfortable.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Include your passwords okay, but tell the loved one who
- 30:05Speaker 1: has this do not use that password. It is only
- 30:09Speaker 1: to assist law enforcement if it can help them. Also
- 30:13Speaker 1: include a copy of your driver's license or your state
- 30:16Speaker 1: i D emergency contacts. Provide a list of emergency contacts
- 30:22Speaker 1: with their names and phone numbers, like for example, DOUBLEH
- 30:27Speaker 1: knows who to call in the family, but does he
- 30:31Speaker 1: know out of all of my friends, who I want
- 30:34Speaker 1: him to call if I go missing? You want someone
- 30:39Speaker 1: to make the call to them. You don't want them
- 30:41Speaker 1: to find out because I can tell you my best
- 30:44Speaker 1: friend didn't get a call and just found out on
- 30:47Speaker 1: social media that I was missing. Who double H would
- 30:50Speaker 1: be in trouble? So you need to do that also
- 30:54Speaker 1: location sharing. Use an app like I said Life three
- 30:58Speaker 1: sixty or enable location sharing what the trusted loved one.
- 31:02Speaker 1: My best friend and my son can follow me wherever
- 31:05Speaker 1: I am twenty four hours a day, and I don't care.
- 31:09Speaker 1: It's in case something happens to me. It could be
- 31:12Speaker 1: not that I go missing. Maybe I get in a
- 31:14Speaker 1: car wreck one night when I'm driving back down Highway
- 31:17Speaker 1: seventy one and my car is off on a ditch somewhere.
- 31:21Speaker 1: That can help them find me. So it's very important.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Your vehicle document Your vehicle details include the license plate number,
- 31:30Speaker 1: then and a photo of the vehicle. That photo can
- 31:34Speaker 1: be used. Now, this one's going to maybe sound a
- 31:38Speaker 1: little weird till bank account informations list your bank accounts
- 31:44Speaker 1: and account numbers. The reason why that will speed up
- 31:48Speaker 1: the time for them to get a warrant to get
- 31:51Speaker 1: the bank to give them information if your cards have
- 31:54Speaker 1: been used, if you've been into a bank branch.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Okay, So that's important.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Now, dating apps, if you use a dating app, list
- 32:03Speaker 1: those apps and your screen name. We are seeing more
- 32:07Speaker 1: and more people go missing who go and meet somebody
- 32:12Speaker 1: that they found on tender grinder ormatch dot com. So
- 32:17Speaker 1: you want to do that so that the police know
- 32:20Speaker 1: that they use it and they can go and check
- 32:22Speaker 1: the activity. And guys, I hope this is a file
- 32:26Speaker 1: that is never needed, but having it prepared could be
- 32:30Speaker 1: the key for you to be found quickly. Okay, it
- 32:35Speaker 1: will help speed it up. So I just can't stress
- 32:40Speaker 1: to you how important that is. You all may be
- 32:44Speaker 1: sitting there going, oh my god, Terry, you've been doing
- 32:46Speaker 1: this in persons only for a year and a half.
- 32:50Speaker 1: You've lost your mind. Guys, it can happen, and especially
- 32:55Speaker 1: those in a domestic violence situation. If it happens a lot.
- 33:00Speaker 1: You want to have that information put together. Now I
- 33:05Speaker 1: have some good news. Are you excited? So I wake
- 33:11Speaker 1: up every morning and the first thing I do is
- 33:14Speaker 1: get a cup of coffee, grab my phone, glasses, go
- 33:17Speaker 1: sit outside by the pool. Okay, while I drink my coffee,
- 33:20Speaker 1: I read through several news applications and then I move
- 33:25Speaker 1: on to social media. Well, today, I'm happy to say
- 33:28Speaker 1: that a news article made me smile big and I
- 33:31Speaker 1: stopped right there and didn't finish reading the news because
- 33:35Speaker 1: it made me smile. And guys, know, the article did
- 33:39Speaker 1: not say that Pink was going to become the national color.
- 33:44Speaker 2: It did not that, it still made me happy.
- 33:47Speaker 1: So the Native American advocates work to improve our current
- 33:51Speaker 1: alert system. Currently, if you are over eighteen and under
- 33:56Speaker 1: sixty five and you go missing, there is no alert
- 34:01Speaker 1: that will go out. There are a few states that
- 34:04Speaker 1: have put in some little bitty band aids here and there,
- 34:07Speaker 1: but nothing mainstream.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Well guess what.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Thanks to these advocates, the Federal Communications Commission unanimously voted
- 34:19Speaker 1: to approve a new alert code. The Missing and Endangered
- 34:23Speaker 1: Code will fill in the current gap.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Guys.
- 34:28Speaker 1: This will allow if I go missing and they think
- 34:32Speaker 1: I am in danger, and they think there was foul play, they.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Can now release an alert. Okay.
- 34:40Speaker 1: This new code is going to allow states, all states
- 34:44Speaker 1: and counties to quickly alert the community through cell phones,
- 34:48Speaker 1: TV radio, in street signs.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Now that new code is m EP Okay, missing endangered
- 34:59Speaker 1: per Now I could not find when it will go live.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I looked and looked and looked. Couldn't find it. I
- 35:07Speaker 2: will keep looking, but.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Guys, the article said that more than one hundred and
- 35:12Speaker 1: eighty eight thousand adults went missing in twenty twenty three.
- 35:17Speaker 1: That did not qualify for an amber alert, a silver alert,
- 35:22Speaker 1: or a blue alert. If you don't know what a
- 35:25Speaker 1: blue alert is, it's only in some states that is
- 35:28Speaker 1: regarding law enforcement. Okay, So this makes me very happy
- 35:34Speaker 1: because currently there's nothing, and I personally believe that by
- 35:41Speaker 1: not having this alert, more people remain missing.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Okay.
- 35:45Speaker 1: I also want to remind you on your cell phone,
- 35:48Speaker 1: some people turn the alerts off because they go off.
- 35:51Speaker 2: In a meeting. They're annoying. Guys.
- 35:54Speaker 1: If you want to get notified, you have to turn
- 35:57Speaker 1: that setting on your phone. Okay, so you can't silence
- 36:04Speaker 1: it unless your phone silence. But guys, here in Texas,
- 36:08Speaker 1: I can tell you driving down the road, I will
- 36:10Speaker 1: see silver alert. They put up the license plate number.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I look at the license plate number, the make of
- 36:17Speaker 1: the car, and I try to look for it while
- 36:19Speaker 1: I'm driving. That is critical and I think I'm not
- 36:23Speaker 1: the only person who does that. So I think it's amazing.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I think they did a great job. I think it
- 36:32Speaker 1: is going to help with the indigenous population because more
- 36:36Speaker 1: Indigenous individuals go missing more than any other group, and
- 36:42Speaker 1: because they're on tribal land, it gets complicated. This will
- 36:47Speaker 1: help them tremendously. So there is my good news for
- 36:52Speaker 1: the day. I will finish reading the rest of the news,
- 36:55Speaker 1: but I haven't yet. But I do want to thank
- 36:58Speaker 1: you all for joining me today. I look forward to
- 37:01Speaker 1: seeing you all again on Monday for our next episode,
- 37:04Speaker 1: and I want to remind you all go send an
- 37:08Speaker 1: email tag Sheriff Harris County Sheriff's Department. Let's let mister
- 37:13Speaker 1: Gonzalez know that we are not going to continue to
- 37:16Speaker 1: put up with him not serving every member of his area. Okay,
- 37:24Speaker 1: I don't care if you're purple, you've got green eyes
- 37:27Speaker 1: and a yellow leg.
- 37:28Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 37:29Speaker 1: If you got caught smoking a joint last week. You're
- 37:32Speaker 1: still important and you still deserve to be found and
- 37:36Speaker 1: they need to do their job. So you can catch

- 38:53Speaker 1: information and be able to say, see, guys, this is
- 38:56Speaker 1: going to help us find them. So please, I'm asking
- 38:59Speaker 1: you to do that. At be sure to also share
- 39:02Speaker 1: the missing person flyers for Nicole Baldwin and Michael J.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Calvert and watch out for Crime and enjoy your wine time.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Guys. Next time,
