A massive data center project in West Virginia’s Mason County is facing major setbacks after state regulators shut down construction in key drainage zones due to failing stormwater controls. The Monarch Cloud Campus, spanning over 2,000 acres and slated for completion by 2028, has repeatedly violated environmental permits, causing flooding and erosion in the nearby Meadowlands Estates neighborhood.
