- 0:02[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, hello, hello and welcome to another edition of the 9 or noise podcast part of the fancited podcast network.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: My name is Robert Morrison, a contributor at 9 or noise.com and here with me.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Once again, uh, the ever-presents, Mr. Okshaas, Devadula, Okshaas, it's been a while.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: How are things?
- 0:20[SPEAKER_03]: They're good, Robert.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_03]: You can't complain.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_03]: It's been, uh, been a long time since we last spoke.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_03]: So time says the way, yes, the way it goes, a lot of
- 0:31[SPEAKER_03]: things happen in nine.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_03]: There's land.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_03]: So we, since we last spoke as well, but overall, do you pretty good?
- 0:38[SPEAKER_03]: Happy, yes.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_03]: What people will be listening to just two days after Halloween?
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: I guess maybe, I don't know, we'll see how it goes.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: Or whatever.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: Some some time after Halloween.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you are safe and stuff.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's really about the extent of where my care goes.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, as you alluded to, the,
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: We've had some scheduling issues over the last couple of, just keep popping up every so often, not really sure why.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: So we did a preview for the Texan's game, but couldn't do a post game for that one.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: Niners lost that one 26 to 15.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: In what appeared to be just a pretty, like, laxedasical.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: Just, you know, we can talk about this very briefly, because this was
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: It seemed like they never really got off the plane kind of from the 49ers, so not, not what you want, and hopefully something that you're not going to repeat again, just heard Kyle Cheney and say it was their worst performance of the season, I'd hard to argue with that.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, like, that's the first game they've played so far this year where I think you can definitively say they've been outplayed.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_03]: also similar sort of, but like injuries make them weird.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_03]: But like bif, I mean, they were not and no excuses, right?
- 2:11[SPEAKER_03]: Because George Kittle was back, whatever injuries share, find lava bot, like just they were the worst team on that field, basically everything, for everything
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: two me special teams performances and and and really like I mean Houston played pretty well in offense but a lot of it was just
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think just before and I was just kind of giving them stuff, like, couldn't get off the field on their down, things like that, just, I mean, you can make a team's offensive performance look even better than it is.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like you can take like a B-game and make it look like a A-minus game, if the defense just kind of gives up a couple of big ones and that seemed like that was, that was what was going on there.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, as we talked about the Texans offense has not been fantastic this season and I think they made them look a little better than they probably are in reality, but hey, that's what NFL teams will do to you if you don't if you don't take advantage of opportunities and get off the field right 100% just bad lesson the one that they had to learn.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, that we and we've talked about this.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: That is probably what this team is going to look like at several points that have to see.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, since they started 3 and 0, they're pretty much like an almost liter like they lost, they won, they lost, they won.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: They lost and
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: And hopefully they'll win again, but we'll talk about that more in just a little bit.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, that's sort of, that's the, I think that's what you kind of expect from a team that's this, that has this much youth playing so many downs for it, a team that's so dependent on reserve players and players that you weren't expecting to have much of an impact on this team at all.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: And so, you know, that's the ups and downs, the, the, the bad, the good, the bad, and the otherwise.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: when you're in a situation like this, for sure.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: All right, but we move on, because it's over and very, very far into the best.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: Other bits of news that have happened since we,
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: Since we last met, a couple of things.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, shout out to Eddie Beneiro, who is the NFC offensive offensive.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: It kind of feels like that sometimes doesn't it?
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: Special teams play out of the month for the month of October.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: So that's pretty cool.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's been just absolutely nailed since joining the 49ers.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: but so congratulations to Eddie.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: Seems like a like a stand-up kind of human being too, so you kind of like to do that.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: I know it inadvertently said offensive, but doesn't it?
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: It does kind of feel that way, doesn't it?
- 5:03[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, 100%.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_03]: One billion percent.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_03]: All the time.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_03]: It feels like Eddie is sort of the one like carrying them and like
- 5:16[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully things will change, but boy, boy how he's been he's been a revelation and they've needed every single kick he's made up to stay afloat so far.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, and ironically he didn't even get to he didn't really get to feature in the game months on, maybe that was what happened, they only let him kick one time and he didn't you made the extra point the one time and that was it.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: We found this, we found the problem of my exercise.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't let Eddie kick the ball enough.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: That's not a good strategy, by the way.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: Just so, in case anybody's wondering, like we don't think kicking as many feel goals as possible is a good strategy for winning.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so that's one bit of news.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: So good for Eddie Pinearo.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: May it long, may it may continue.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: Um, the other bit of news, whether several pieces of things that we got to go through, so strap in here, everyone.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Um, the 49ers made a trade with the New England Patriots.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: Um, this was the 29th, so what was that Wednesday?
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: Um, they traded for defense of Lyman key on white, uh, former New England Patriots second round draft pick out of Georgia Tech.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: Um, also played at Old Dominion University for a couple of seasons before he transferred George
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: the compensation I believe is basically like a pick swap 7th rounder for a 6th rounder essentially so all and all not a terrible thing I don't I'll admit I don't really know a whole lot about this about the on white art key on whites.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry as a player but it seems like I mean New England's on their third head coach in as many seasons and essentially their third because they've always had defensive
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: mind-it-head coaches, at least over the last bunch of years, basically on the third defensive kind of scheme, and they've asked them to do different things each year, bellow it, bellow it, check when you draft it in, probably still is best season as a rookie.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: was his second year that went okay, but not great.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: And then since Mike Brable has come to England, he's sort of kind of pushed out.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: So it seems like a good opportunity.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, my favorite part is that he got traded and immediately flew to Santa Clara and was and did his physical and was like, all right, here we go.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: And he was on the practice field the same day.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: So you got to think that he's he's looking for an opportunity to to make good on his, uh,
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: on what has been you know kind of up and down career so far through to and a little bit more than a half that a little bit less than a half a season.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I think it's always good to take take opportunities like guys like this who obviously have pet agree, uh, second round draft pick for a reason, but uh, and then I just obviously need bodies in the in the defensive line.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's a kind of a win win, you don't really lose anything in all actuality.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: So hopefully it will work out.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, like,
- 8:07[SPEAKER_03]: It's a low risk move like they move down from the six to the seventh and just like you need competency in the health on the edge.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that's like that's what they're finally going to get.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_03]: So I like I've no problems with it.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_03]: This is the exact type of move.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_03]: I think team should be doing almost always and like I love it.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_03]: Like yeah.
- 8:33[UNKNOWN]: I'm
- 8:34[SPEAKER_03]: given the way that like the edge like has been decimated by entries he's quite literally better because he's been on roster and like you'd only side you would sign someone who's not playing NFL football right now like that's who he's replacing so just totally agree with you I was really happy that they made the move I thought it was like it was really smart
- 9:00[SPEAKER_03]: taking advantage of a team sort of like shuffling around who they want for the wine car.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you know, uh, the Patriots look what pretty good, but yeah, it's a they are.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: They do, but then I think they also made a trade with the Steelers on the same day, sending out another player.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: So it seems a little bit like they feel pretty good about where they are, but they also, I mean, you kind of get the impression this is variables like, hey, I want my guys and so these guys aren't my guys.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: So let's see what we can get for them.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: I wonder if that's what's going on here with both those players.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think that's right.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_03]: That sounds definitely right to me.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_03]: I think that like, I think it's just a roster of shuffle.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_03]: That seems like, yeah, barely, fairly clear to me.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_03]: I don't like, not fairly clear.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_03]: Let me, let me rephrase.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_03]: It seems like, I think it's one of those things where they just don't fit the scheme and I think defensive linemen in general.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_03]: You put them in safe and Cisco.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_03]: They, everyone likes the scheme.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_03]: That scheme is, that scheme is good for a defensive linemen.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: The other thing too is that he's only in the 30 year of his rookie deal, which means he has, he's actually a, he's not a rental player either he'll be around next year.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like because he was a second rounder that that fourth year is like really cheap.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's like less than $2 million is something like that.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: even if he's not like a world beater, which he most likely will not be.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's still a useful player that you can have on your team.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: And if it doesn't work out, you know, he probably gets cut in training camp next year.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: Like he's gonna be around for probably there definitely the rest of this year because they just can't afford to lose a guy.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: And by that point, by the time he is not a 49er is what draft swap pick or what draft pick swap they made will be completely forgotten I will think.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, definitely.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_03]: 100%.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_03]: Totally great.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, totally great.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Um, they made another move on the defensive line front, uh, and that is bringing Cleo and Ferrell back on the practice squad, uh, more on him in just a second.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think, like as soon as he was released, uh, he was in Washington right with the commanders, um, as soon as they let him go, I was like, yeah, he's got to be like, that that should, they call him up.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: frankly I don't know what it took so long because I feel like it happened a couple of weeks ago but maybe they were thinking oh maybe you know we can do better not do better but we still have some guys and they've just kept losing players and they're just like okay finally we got to bring somebody in um fairles a good player for them in 2023 I think there are this is not a new thought a lot of people think this that the defense is difficulties
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: The fact that they doubt that they had trouble in that playoff run was basically because Farrell was hurt and didn't play and their run defense suffered on account of that.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: So he's probably not going to be like a past pressure guy, but you know what he is.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: And he's going to be an available, another useful available player.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's still really young too, because I think the Raider's draft name is like 21 or something like that.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: So he's still not 30 yet, which is crazy.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean like Paula Farrell is who he is at this point and I think like he's carved a really great career.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, considering is the number two overall tick.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's not great, but that's not his fault.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_03]: I think given the way it's our number four.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_03]: People were like, oh, he's going to be a complete, like, bus.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, he's, he's good.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_03]: He's, he's a, he's a solid, the end like he knows this is me.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_03]: He's playing on Sunday for sure.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's already been elevated along with Nick's account.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: That was my, I was getting into that next, so there you go.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's playing on Sunday, key on weight.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: Well, also appears to be set up for his debut.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why he wouldn't.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: Just draft the guy at the very least, he can run out there for some past-risk sets.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think, as you said, people like this defensive line scheme and a lot of it has to do with the fact that it's just kind of like,
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: go.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like nuanced to it most of the time.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: So I think he'll be able to kind of slot in fairly simply there.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, totally grew with the own fair.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's not his fault.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: Use the number four over and over.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'll take that the Raiders are just.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_00]: who knows what the Raiders are.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: They're not very good at drafting generally.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just say that.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: And they overshot on him.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: And he's, to his great credit, has taken what could have been an absolute disaster of a situation and has turned himself into a nice player.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: Who will probably be able to continue to work for?
- 14:12[SPEAKER_00]: several more years if you want to play.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: So, um, there's that.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: Um, unfortunately, oxas, because this is the 49ers in 2025, uh, all these acquisitions, acquisitions means that, of course, something bad has happened to, uh, and that is that E2 Grasmato's is finally succumbed to,
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: just what has been like an absolute plethora of injuries to one person.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think technically he was on he was suffering through multiple like as many as two possibly three injuries appears that he reacted one of them or something.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know it was a hamstring specifically this time I think he's going on IR
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's tough like he's he's had a really rough go of it this year struggling with with injuries during the off season and has never really gotten going during the regular season either so not great.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: The corresponding move as it's Spencer Burford will be elevated from the injured reserve list.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: It'll be very interesting to see how the offensive line situation shakes up.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: Ben Bartsch, who had his practice window open up this week, will not play.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: He's been downgraded to out, so he's not going to play.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like that's the normal thing that we see from this team.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like, a player comes off the injured reserve.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: They open up his practice window a week ahead of when they expect him to be.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: Just to kind of get him, let him get his legs underneath him.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: So more likely Bartsch will be ready to go for the Rams next week.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: But where Burford stands in, does he just become the swing tackle?
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: Do they want to?
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if they want to mess with the offensive line too terribly much.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: If the plan is like for Bartsch just slide back in as the left guard when he returns, which seems like the most likely outcome, I don't know, it doesn't make sense to be like, all right, we're Spencer Burford, you're the left guard for one week.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: when that's not really what you want him to do.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like he's just going to be a reserve guide, but that's just me.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like, I don't think Burford is...
- 16:21[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I think he had his chance and he just wasn't up to stuff.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's going to be the swing tackle, like a jail and more type beat, this probably where they want to keep in, is he good enough to be in that role?
- 16:34[SPEAKER_03]: I have no idea, but that's like, I think his days of being a guard or basically over.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: he'll he'll probably play probably bump somebody out.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know like who the options are.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: Um, one of the guys who's been elevated the last couple of weeks probably or who's been on the the active route for the last couple of weeks probably gets a bump.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know is it like an Austin pleasant.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: So if somebody like that will see.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but yeah, any, any thoughts on these or Grasmata situation?
- 17:05[SPEAKER_03]: It's tough because I think he, um, he was providing a spark when he was there, but yeah.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_03]: It's been, it's been an injury-filled run for him, which absolutely, truly just like, disappointing, I think, for the 49ers, because when he's played, it's been quite good, but he just hasn't played enough, which way it goes, I suppose.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, yep, for sure.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: Other injuries mentioned, Bartch, who was initially listed as questionable, but he will not play on Sunday.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: Jake Brendel's still out, the hamstring injury.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Elliott questionable, it's an ankle injury.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: I also think I read there was something else going on.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like he didn't travel with the team.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: But it's not injury related.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's like another a personal matter.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: They expect him to be in New York and ready to play on Sunday So we'll see how that goes Bryce Huff also out this week all though.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think there is some optimism about his ability to return next week See here Sam Okuwani was questionable with an ankle injury Rick appears all will not play again although again
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: more, I think the speculation seems to be that he was moving during practice this week a little better than anyone has seen.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: Technically, he didn't practice.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's just doing rehab stuff on the side because he has dnp's for the whole week, but again, hopefully kind of getting him back up to speed to where he can be ready for the Los Angeles game.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then Brock Perti for the first time in a month, listed as questionable coming into this game and is not unlike somebody like Ben
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: as uh... as uh... as not playing on Sunday shenanigans sort of cagey about it and whether or not he's going to suit up
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I have my thoughts about it.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you have an opinion on what to do with this.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: He had a kind of weird exchange with a reporter the other day where they were like, is it getting, is it, could he react or if it was just kind of a weird conversation and you can look it up and see what he was talking about.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: He was just like, you could tell that Cheneyne was aggravated but he was like, you didn't even ask me a question.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's very strange.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see the benefit if he's not going to start.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see the benefit of having him.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: as the backup because if he's not really ready to play quite yet and especially because they're going to that stupid turf field at the metal hands right Matt life sorry um I just I don't know I wouldn't want to risk it just in case something happens because it's not like Mac Jones is the is the healthiest guy at the moment he's just kind of like
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: work grinding through the hurt right now.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I feel like you got to give him another week where it's just like Brocky just chill and next week beer and to go.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_03]: Totally great.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like I don't understand either the logic of
- 20:09[SPEAKER_03]: of having him suited up if he's not starting.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_03]: Like, he's your starter, right?
- 20:15[SPEAKER_03]: It's not, and it's not like the playoffs, right?
- 20:18[SPEAKER_03]: In the playoffs, totally makes sense.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_03]: 100% I would do something like this.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_03]: It's not regular season game, right?
- 20:24[SPEAKER_03]: Like, if you don't think he's healthy enough to play, then he's not healthy enough to play.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_03]: Like, that's, it sounds obvious because it is.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_03]: Like that.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_03]: He's healthy, either he's healthy enough to play.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: and then you start them.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_03]: Or he's not healthy enough to play.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_03]: So you wouldn't want to bring him in if there's an injury.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_03]: So why in Earth would you even have the eye out?
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of feel like it's a little game'smanship personally.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like they're like, yeah, he's not out.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's a maybe you could play, but I still feel like they're going to make him inactive first on the, just they're just kind of messing with, like the giants have to think about, like even though he said the Mac is starting,
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, it's kind of weird, it's kind of weird move.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: D-winter is also questionable with a knee injury, but no news there on whether or not he will be available.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: For the Giants, who we haven't mentioned then, by the way, they're playing the Giants on Sunday.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: We haven't actually said their name yet, which that's on me.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: Titan Daniel Belinger is doubtful with a neck injury, doubtful generally tends to mean that they don't play.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: Guard, germane, aluminum, or also doubtful.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_00]: This he is a pectoral injury.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: Cordale flat, a quarterback is a in the concussion protocol.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: He will be out.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: Defensive Enchancey Goulston with a neck injury.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: He will also be out.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: And then the quarterback art and green has a hamstring.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: He will also be out.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: Safety, Javan Holland is questionable with an injury and quarterback Rico Payton,
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: is questionable with a growing injury.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: I also saw earlier today that they will be elevating old friend, Ray Rayman McCloud from the practice squad.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: So that'll be fun to see how they employ him if they do.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_00]: So the thing that jumps out to me there for the Giants is how many one, two, three.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: Three cornerbacks, this is out and one listed as questionable.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's got to kind of like make your eyes get a little bigger there if you're a 49er span.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_03]: One, absolutely, I think, um, especially given that with kiddos like starting to get back, the passing game should hopefully start picking up like, this lets your, what has been sort of a weakness, just because of all the entries that can sort of like start stabilizing into a bit of a slight, an even matchup.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_03]: I think that like, and of course you didn't even mention
- 23:02[SPEAKER_03]: with a fractured ankle, just crucian injury.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, camp, scataboo, right?
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, and they're missing, uh, mully canabers.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_03]: Mully canabers, yeah.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_03]: So, their offense is already is scuffling a bit.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_03]: Another defense is too.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they have a great defensive line.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_03]: We'll get into that when we talk about, like, the game in particular, but it does give you hope that containers won't be,
- 23:26[SPEAKER_03]: like kind of overmatched, which is a crazy thing to say, going up against it.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: But that's two and six turns.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_03]: Well, when it comes to the injuries, you know, yep.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty cool.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: I was here.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's go ahead and treat that.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's a good look at you transitioning us into the into the next section.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: So we have our reasons for optimism and our reasons for concern that we'll get into.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so like I like I just said, they're missing a lot of offensive weapons and their corners are a little suspect.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's the offensive weapons really that really changes.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_03]: Sort of the complexion of this giant's team right so.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_03]: Statistically, the giants have like been up in their only two and six, but the games have been really weird, but they've been like, they're basically three teams this year.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_03]: They, um, there's a team of Russell Wilson and everyone healthy that team was bad team was really bad.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_03]: They had one like one sort of good game, but otherwise, not really a good.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_03]: Then they've been a team with Jackson, Dart, and Cam Skatevoo, but no Malik neighbors, that team was pretty good.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_03]: That team, those guys were doing good work.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_03]: And then they're like this team now, this sort of like, in between question of like, who's playing, who's not playing, it's hard to troll, like,
- 25:00[SPEAKER_03]: that team I think the Niners can beat quite easily and I think it's because they just don't have stress points on offense that are really going to challenge you any more like without neighbors and without like Scataboo what he was playing was kind of like a like a wreck involved right like I think Jackson Ders played well it's pretty fine but he by himself is not some like
- 25:29[SPEAKER_03]: And then there's a bit of an opportunity.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_03]: The giant's offense is really middle of the pack, just about everything that gets sacked a lot.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_03]: So that might be good for the 49ers defense.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_03]: Like I just, I don't think that offense is scary right now.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think that gives the 49ers a lot of like, oh, because the 49ers defense is definitely not scary.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_03]: But this is not a group that I think is gonna challenge them like significant light.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, um, weird team, the giants, uh, they have played in, like, they've, they've beat the eagles once, uh, which go figure.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: Um, they played in one of the weirdest games in, well, probably the weirdest game of the season so far in that lost the Broncos, where they were out by, like, what?
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: like 20 something points heading into the fourth quarter, and they gave up 33 points to the Broncos in the fourth quarter, which is objectively hilarious.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: They got blown out by the Eagles again, so they beat the Eagles then lost that weird game to the Broncos and then got blown out by the Eagles again, the following week.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: They lost the Saints, which, you know, do with that, which you will.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_00]: their only wins are, the aforementioned one against the Eagles, and then a very strange game against the Chargers, where they somehow held the Chargers to only 18 points.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_00]: It, yeah, I mean, it just like a strange, strange team, um, they also had that weird game against the, the Cowboys early in the year, what that was obviously with Russell Wilson, where they, they, they, they, they, they, they've with one and lost the game multiple times during the last minute to the game and in over time, like,
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: terribly strange.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but yeah, so just a weird team.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and then you just kind of look at them like statistically, they are last dead last on defense in yards allowed per carry, um, which might be a good thing to see for the 49ers, um, off of coming off their worst rushing attack of the season.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's also been kind of a weird up and down kind of rushing attack that they've, in terms of their
- 27:45[SPEAKER_00]: like they gave up 220 yards, the commanders in the first week, which kind of conflate some of, and then 270 six yards to the Eagles last week.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: So there's these two massive outliers because they also have an 88 yard performance that they allow to the Saints in a loss, by the way, and a 73 yard performance to the Eagles two weeks before that.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so you kind of assume that they're that they're run defenses getable it's just like it's kind of seems to be there for the taking And then they just given up a lot of points even when they've won sometimes they've given up a lot of points as I mentioned like
- 28:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's just kind of a strange, strange team, and then as you noted, the offense, not terribly scary.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_00]: The lack of cams got about really makes, like their rushing offense was actually not terribly scary.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_00]: To begin with, they were pretty decent and overall yards, but some of that is just a, they've ran the ball, the fourth, they've run the ball the fourth most in the NFL so far, so their yards for attempt is pretty low.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to think if like the downgrade from from from Scatobov who was having a really good season About four hundred ten yards there next leading Russia care to kind of venture I guess Jackson dart it is Jackson tired with a hundred ninety five yards Tyrone Tracy Jr. is their next leading Russia who is a running back and then after that
- 29:24[SPEAKER_00]: Russell Wilson and then Devon single Terry with 84 yards in that, my friend.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_00]: Outside of one Dale Robinson one carry for two yards is their rushing game is their rushing.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's a weird like it's very strange offensive setup.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't understand it.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: Brand table so offensive guy right.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a weird not very good team that just doesn't.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: that they might be fun and that sort of thing, but I don't know that there's any piece as currently constructed, I don't think there's anything about them that makes you go, like I'm really nervous about them doing X, except for maybe one thing, which we'll dive into in a minute.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like all the things you said about their defense equally, like equally valid, they're not a good team,
- 30:21[SPEAKER_03]: That's just two and six.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_03]: Like they are what their record says for the most part.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_03]: Like this is like a mediocre football team that has gotten some juice from a rookie quarterback.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_03]: We're like, good for that, great for that, right?
- 30:35[SPEAKER_03]: Like, Jackson Dart looks like he's gonna be like, he has a real shot of being a good one, but this,
- 30:42[SPEAKER_03]: The manners even with other entries should take care of business.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_03]: However, despite the fact, because of my reason for concern, but their sack rate is not all that high, their defensive line terrifies me.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_03]: That is a good defensive line.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_03]: Aim on to the though, Abdul Carter, and that's like, those are the young guns, and then we bring in brine burns and dexter law and
- 31:08[SPEAKER_03]: That's a fearsome force that can wreck shop.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_03]: And I mean, if we think about what the Texans did to the 49ers last week with Will Anderson just dominating, I mean, just broke the game down.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_03]: That could happen here.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_03]: And if that happens here, then everything we've talked about goes out like out the window because they're like the pressure wins games in the NFL.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_03]: The giants can, are our team with the talent to completely derail the four nirons offensive line.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_03]: And I think they can just like, they can blow this game up.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's definitely where I'm in.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: I am on that too.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: The weird thing about it is, is that as you said, they're, they're sacrate not terribly high.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Burns has 10 sacs.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: The next highest is two and a half.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_00]: for a K-1 to Bidow, and then a bunch of guys with like one and a half a sack.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_00]: Abdul Carter, just one half a sack.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, as what you talked about before, like, it doesn't, isn't to say that just because you're not getting sacks, doesn't mean you're not creating pressure, and that will be the main concern for the 49ers, is that for sure?
- 32:30[SPEAKER_00]: But, yeah, I mean, they gotta contain it.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's still wild.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Brian Burns, Poor Guy has gone from the Panthers to the Giants.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if that's good for him, they got paid when he got to the Giants, but rough go a bit for him for sure.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, if they are going to have to figure out a way to block these guys,
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe some of it is like the run game can help create, can facilitate some slowing down of the past of the past rush.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe a little bit more like in the screen game and short passes and all kind of stuff.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: So there's not a lot of opportunity.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_00]: And I think given the state of their second of the giant secondary, it would make a lot of sense that there will be players that will be open.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_00]: They're just going to have to do it quickly because there's just not going to be time.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: So, I don't disagree with anything we've said so far, but I do want to say one other thing, because I think it needs to be mentioned.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's like the Jackson Dark at Dart of it all.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_00]: It just feels like, this is the type of game where you look at it and you're like, okay, like their best receiver is one-dayle Robinson.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_00]: They got nothing, right?
- 33:57[SPEAKER_00]: They're just not a good offense.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_00]: Their best receiver is on IR.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_00]: Their second best offensive player is also on IR.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: This should be an easy get, but it just
- 34:12[SPEAKER_00]: Jackson Dart, like, if it goes wrong for the Niners, it's a situation where the past rush that we talked about makes the offensive gameplay and for the 49ers kind of dissipate.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: But the other side of it is that Jackson Dart just kind of runs around and makes a nuisance of himself sort of, ironically.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_00]: Um, kind of like the,
- 34:31[SPEAKER_00]: A new version of the guy he's replacing as the giant starter, at least from the beginning of the season, a little shades of Russell Wilson in his early years as a seahawk, where it's just like, I mean, now he was on better teams, of course, and they had better offensive players, but.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, having times we've seen this exercise where a quarterback who's got some skill, but maybe it doesn't have the skill position players, but takes advantage of it because he can run around a little bit and wreck some havoc and all of a sudden you're like, what, how are they still in this game?
- 35:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't understand.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is, this is not a good football team.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like, how is this happening?
- 35:07[SPEAKER_00]: And that is kind of my concern about this one, if I'm being honest.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_03]: At the end of the day, they're two and six, yes.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_03]: They've played close games when it starts been in there, right?
- 35:27[SPEAKER_03]: Malik Namers has been a hurt for some of those games, and they've still been quite productive.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_03]: Standard Lewis hurt, and there are a little less productive.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_03]: But like, this is a, this is a live team.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't that like a team that you're kind of like are you going to walk in and sort of like take care of business?
- 35:42[SPEAKER_03]: No, the Niners have to earn this win.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_03]: It's, you could like, you know, I was like talking about this, you know, what are the like ways you can sort of, what like, if you told me how the game wound up on the recap, we say, this happened the nine years loss.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_03]: I'd be like, god of the other makes sense.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_03]: But I can, I think the 49ers offense, the 49ers offense should do well in the giant's defense, hopefully.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_03]: But
- 36:17[SPEAKER_03]: Like they have to play well, they have to take care of business because like that is where the giants I think will be could be able to sort of take advantage in life.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_03]: even with missing, like, well, even neighbors and came standing, that's still a lie.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_03]: There's danger in playing this team, given where the 49ers are.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_03]: We'll also say, there's danger playing this team, given where they are literally, given the fact they are on in that life stadium.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_03]: The turf, given as destroyed 40 minor seasons before,
- 36:50[SPEAKER_03]: I think, is that a reason for concern?
- 36:52[SPEAKER_03]: No, not really, but just wanted to flag it.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone, just remember that, part of the goal of this game is to get out of it a lot because that's a dangerous field they're playing on, too, but this one is the point that it's your concern.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I mean, that's certainly has to play into it a little bit.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: We're like, the job is too full, one win the game.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_00]: to do so without any major injuries because of the stupid turf at MetLife Stadium, which they're trying to, I don't know if you've seen all this, but they're trying to paint like, well, the injuries are down and it's not so bad and it's just like, whatever.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_00]: Just like, pay for grass.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's all I gotta say.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_00]: Um, it's, you know, it's a billion dollar industry.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_00]: Great, pay for some grass.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do that.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_00]: How about that?
- 37:42[SPEAKER_00]: Nope.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: Can I go eat?
- 37:43[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, agreed.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: Um, all right.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I think we have, we've, we've exhausted that one enough.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, we can go ahead and get into, uh, the predictions for the game.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, I was doing a kick-suff.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, um, you know, we, like we've been saying, I don't, I think this is much closer.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_03]: then it should have been heading into me here.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_03]: That's in part because the giants have been looking a little better or a little more like live than I think we thought there would be.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_03]: Also because the Niner's defense is just like categorically worse than any original expectation of it heading into this season.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_03]: Max Jones continuing to play does not really inspire me.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's also been hurt by the things he's hit that sort of plateau where it's like, all right, there's a reason why he's a backup in
- 38:35[SPEAKER_03]: But with all that said, I still think that like the 40 matters have a little more juice than that for this.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_03]: And I think so like obviously I have no there's no team in the NFL.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_03]: Right, I think they can beat anymore just because I think given the defensive injuries, it's really hard to tell like how well their defense are going to play.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_03]: There's no consistency anymore for the defense.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_03]: I still, I think this game is gonna turn out all right.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think the giant's defense is not very strong.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_03]: I think that gives the 49ers a bit of an edge just because they'll be able to keep pace offensively with the giant's offensive things go that way.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_03]: And if the giant's offense doesn't really dominate, then all the better.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm gonna go
- 39:32[SPEAKER_03]: like 24 13 matters victory.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_00]: I like it.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I went a little higher, but generally within the same sin within the same vein, I said, I've flip, blow up back and forth while you were talking.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: of three or two different scores.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_00]: I can give them both you, both of them will not count, but nonetheless, this is a game that we made up, so it doesn't really matter.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: My initial thought was 31, 17.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's just wishful thinking because like I haven't scored in the 30s yet this year, and I just really like to see them score some points.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_00]: And this giant defense does feel, like if you have enough 30 points, several times, the season including once, in one whole quarter, in case we didn't mention that,
- 40:16[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I think it's in play.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I also said my other my other thought was just 27.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I think I think they're going to take care of business as you said, um, the giant defense or giant's offense is going to cause them a little bit of fits.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I think ultimately like they were, they are probably, they're likely very embarrassed by the way that last week turned out and they don't want to repeat that kind of thing.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_00]: And this is the kind of offense that
- 40:46[SPEAKER_00]: Like all those things we said about Jackson Dart because of the state of his skill position players and his offensive line, like I feel like you should be able to neutralize him and not have to worry too terribly much about the other guys around him.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_00]: And just kind of like, all right, don't let him beat you.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_00]: And if you can focus on that, then you should be fairly successful.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I agree.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think it sounds right to me.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_00]: Um, as far as who's not going to play fairly simple, like Ricky Pierce, obviously, we already said, uh, Jake Brandell, Bryce Huff, uh, add Eater Grass Monsters on here, but he's on hire, so that doesn't factor in.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I still feel like, um, it's still feel like, uh,
- 41:34[SPEAKER_00]: that I don't know the the rest of it is kind of it's a little bit more difficult.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think Jordan James obviously continues to be inactive just because he hasn't played.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that they're going to they can afford any to lose any guys on the defensive line so I don't see anybody like Robert Bealer or anything like that missing out.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like Nick Martin might be back on the pine just because they have enough linebackers.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_00]: to get the job done, and then one of the offensive linemen, I think, since Spencer Burford is out, I don't know who exactly it is, probably is in the mix, and then, like I said, I think we both agree that they should just sit Brock Birdie down for another week.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_00]: Let him be ready for next week against the ramps.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_03]: I agree, but I think that would, I don't know, I don't really have the next is
- 42:31[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think there's a lot the injury sort of ruined the like, oh, what that will they try to do because they're lower And I was like Feel the competitive team.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_03]: I like I think I wish they made pretty inactive as well They won't that that is what it is, but I'm Well, they still could I still could I I would so I just find it so unlikely so so unlikely
- 43:01[SPEAKER_00]: That's what there you go now one of the quarterbacks probably has to right or do you just make both of them all both of them active and then you're in a weird because the thing is if you make perdiactive but not Adrian Martinez then perdi has to play if Jones goes in if they're both active then it doesn't really matter And given the state of your of the roster right now you could actually afford to do that unfortunately
- 43:31[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, like, it's a hard question.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_03]: Again, it goes back to that if you think he's healthy enough to beat the backup, you should start it.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think it's just a matter of what do they think about that?
- 43:46[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what they think about that.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_03]: That one is.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I think we're in agreement on the sort of philosophy that seems a little bit off.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_00]: Who knows, maybe, again, maybe they're just playing a game.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: They've kept him off the injured reserve for a reason.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think that a lot of that has to do with just like giving him a chance to continue to go out and like work on stuff and not because if he was on the injured reserve, he couldn't practice or anything.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_00]: So we shall see, I don't know, weird team, weird game.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_00]: Sunday, one o'clock Eastern, that's a 10 o'clock Pacific kickoff time for those of you at home.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's also daylight savings time on Sunday.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_00]: helps the cause or not.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_00]: But nonetheless.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'll show us any final words on this one before we close it up.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and hopefully they wouldn't just it's that.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_03]: It's time.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_03]: I we're entering that point where like the the contenders and pretenders have started to shift away and not like making that push.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_03]: the Niners are on that line on contender, but they are like, they're close to pretend her.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_03]: And I mean, like, this is the, this is the, this is the bankable game, right?
- 45:06[SPEAKER_03]: These are the games they have to win.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_03]: When we were looking at this schedule before the season, games like this were the ones where I was like, okay, they have to be, they're obviously going to beat the giants, right?
- 45:20[SPEAKER_03]: And that's like one of the ones you've been.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_03]: I think the Jaguars was another one.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_03]: That's fine, whatever.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I think you allow for one or two of those.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_03]: The other two games they lost.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_03]: I think we wouldn't expect them to lose.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_03]: We might have expected them to lose.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to do some vision games as well.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_03]: So they're not pacing too terribly.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_03]: But...
- 45:38[SPEAKER_03]: Who they are in not pacing to terribly is very different.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_03]: So I mean, they're not going to get, again, giants, good team, right, don't get me wrong.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_03]: Counts, there's talent, a quarterback on the defense, they've played well, they've played close games.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_03]: This is as easy as it gets for the 49ers.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_03]: So they got a, they have to take care of business and we'll see if they do that.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, another thing I was thinking and then I'll wrap this up is like this game is really might be the line of delineation for whether or not this team has the juice to make it to the playoffs or not.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_00]: I could be lose this game and you got a five and four and then you have to play the Rams next week.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, a team you beat already, let's just say that, but a team that probably will be looking to try to beat you on, you know, to repay the loss.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_00]: And so you're really, if you lose to the giants, you're really staring a five and five record in the face and then you start to go, oh, okay.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_00]: The other thing we didn't mention is the trade deadline is on Tuesday, so this could be like, and again, as we've talked about this, this team shouldn't be only shopping for now, so that doesn't really make that big of a difference.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_00]: But the big thing is like,
- 47:00[SPEAKER_00]: Does that make an impact in what you decide to do?
- 47:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, we don't have to legislate that necessarily.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think this is a line in that delineating line in what this season could possibly be.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_00]: Is this a team that could get into the playoffs?
- 47:15[SPEAKER_00]: If you lose this game, it looks start to look less likely.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_00]: If you take care of business, then as you said, it's a bankable game.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then you can afford to lose the ramps next week.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_00]: There's probably another, I mean, the rest of the schedule outside of the Rams and the Colts game doesn't look terribly scary and Seattle's in there too, but so, but if you lose this game and I think you're in real trouble.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_00]: But for two reasons, one, because it drops you down to like a game, just a game of about 500, but it also says something about the team that you are, if you lose to this team, is the other thing.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, it's...
- 48:07[SPEAKER_03]: It's both perspective and so far as like, if you can't beat this team, can you beat any of these other teams, but like you said, it's literally more so that way.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_03]: They have to keep pace.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_03]: Are they going to keep pace?
- 48:19[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_03]: But they have to try like keeping pace is important here.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_03]: So feel like that'll be the real challenge for them is like making sure they stay on top of the key pace.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_03]: And I mean, why have to see it's going to be really interesting to see how the rest of the season goes.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they sort of didn't all over the place.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_03]: Once like the injuries really hit like you mentioned, they're basically playing at a 500 level.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_03]: But, you know, five and three, you mentioned you made a really great point.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_03]: You were like think about the season in quarters.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_03]: like two and two given all the entries they had is not terrible, but I think their next quarter needs to be like a 3 and 1 quarter and that requires a win against the giants.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, absolutely, well said, as always.
