- 1:27So I got the trigger warnings. For this book from Book Trigger
- 1:31warnings.com Are we ready? Emily, do you have anything you
- 1:35want to guess? And then I'll say what was on
- 1:37the list, right, starting off with the big one, right.
- 1:45It's not on this list, which is a bit assault.
- 1:49Well, they said abuse mental. Illness.
- 1:53No. OK, let.
- 1:57Me. Just give you the list and then
- 1:59let's see if there's anything else we would answer.
- 2:02Abuse, bullying, homophobia, suicide mentioned and violence.
- 2:08So is rape just violence? I don't think so.
- 2:13It was more like a tented rape. Yeah.
- 2:15But I feel like it's all the same.
- 2:17It's very, it feels all the same in the end, doesn't it, Like
- 2:21traumatic wise. I know.
- 2:25I don't know. Is there anything that's missed?
- 2:28There was a little biphobia, I think.
- 2:31True. Does homophobia cover that?
- 2:34No, I feel like it doesn't. Yeah, I don't know.
- 2:36Yeah, true. There's a bit of men, Yeah,
- 2:39True. Horning men.
- 2:41Straight men. That's probably it.
- 2:44So if you don't like any of those things, this book is
- 2:46probably isn't for you. Just listen to our podcast
- 2:48instead. Trigger warning We just now love
- 2:49for you Douglas. We're equally.
- 2:51Triggering though, so yeah. I don't know if you're safer in
- 2:55this environment. For once we've got two female
- 2:59characters and it was dual point of view.
- 3:01Hey, yes. So we switched between the two.
- 3:04I was living on the edge where I didn't even read the name.
- 3:07I just decided to guess each time who was speaking.
- 3:10I got like that by the end and I was like, wait up.
- 3:14I just put it together because I was like, fuck it.
- 3:16It all started to blend. I don't know, it was more fun
- 3:19that way. Because you know what, a male
- 3:20female book. You can always tell who's who.
- 3:22You don't even need to read the top.
- 3:23So I think that's just what I do.
- 3:25So I just got into that and you just go straight into the
- 3:28chapter and are so when you're confused later.
- 3:31This is probably why I was confused the whole time.
- 3:35It was really long, which is very on brand for me.
- 3:37Yeah, it's on brand for both of us.
- 3:39Can I just say wait? OK, so we've got Olivia and
- 3:42we've got Clay. Clay is a girl name.
- 3:45Fuck off. Considering the brothers names.
- 3:49OK, you would assume that the names would be opposite, right?
- 3:54Bro. Like they named that girl
- 3:56knowing she'd be gay. But her name is Olivia.
- 3:59No, no. I mean, they named Clay.
- 4:02Oh, it's like they just knew from birth.
- 4:05I can handle Clay when it was the guy from 13 Reasons Why.
- 4:09No, I've never watched it because he just looked like a
- 4:11Clay, like a big lump of clay. But then, like, this girl's
- 4:14supposed to be this hot blonde. She was giving me Legally
- 4:19Blonde. Yeah, I forget the character's
- 4:21name. I feel like it was.
- 4:22She's funny. Adds to the hotness when you
- 4:25hold it. And her name's so ugly.
- 4:26She's hot. Yeah, like it just, I don't
- 4:29know. Oh, finally I came out called
- 4:34fucking like, grunge or something.
- 4:36Then you can be Clayla. Stop not the Clayla.
- 4:44Steal her away from Olivia. Then that can be a couple.
- 4:47Name 00 K so. Oh my God.
- 4:52So speaking about names, fuck, they were horrible.
- 4:55What's going on? Penel?
- 4:57Penel what is coming up? Penlop.
- 5:00Penlop. What's happening?
- 5:01Because seriously, OKI don't know how we wrote these in order
- 5:06of let's just start with Kelan B.
- 5:08The worst, worst. Worst was like the only human
- 5:12name. And Olivia.
- 5:13OK, so we got iron. Not one I would pick.
- 5:17All I could imagine was a full on like iron by man.
- 5:22And then we've got Clay, obviously.
- 5:26We've got Kris, Jenner. Christian like it's not.
- 5:31You've heard of Kristen, you've heard of Krista, you've heard of
- 5:35Kris Jenner. Kris Jenner.
- 5:37But have you heard of Christian? You've heard of Christian, but
- 5:40have you heard of Christian? Did you see her sister's names?
- 5:45I probably tried to skip over it.
- 5:47Wait, wait, we're not done yet. We've got Macon.
- 5:50These names are making me crazy every time I read this one.
- 5:55I know it's wrong. This is how I pronounced from my
- 5:58brain. Ara Kelly you.
- 6:03Know what, though? But what is it?
- 6:06I don't know. And there was I I just skimmed
- 6:09over it every time it came up. I didn't even try.
- 6:12I thought it was a guy. The Hurricane Araceli.
- 6:17Is it like Italian? But then I thought it.
- 6:20Was a bloke. Oh, I thought it was a bloke the
- 6:22whole time. And then we got army.
- 6:26And then we got who? Who?
- 6:30That's the mom. Oh yeah, and Dallas, that's my
- 6:33And Trace is called Trist and I'm pretty sure Kristen's sister
- 6:38seems like praisely. That's starting to make sense,
- 6:42isn't? It fucking Joseph's.
- 6:44Christ, I'm trying to find it. I can't deal Paisley.
- 6:50No, I think it's like praise anyway.
- 6:53I can't find it. It was shit.
- 6:54Regardless, we don't need to know why there was two sisters
- 6:59and they were both shit. The end, Emily.
- 7:02I'm sensing a bit of a theme. With the pea dog, with the
- 7:06Penelope dog with me, yeah. You keep picking up books, You
- 7:11keep telling me to. What I didn't know.
- 7:14About this book. I didn't know this is pea dog
- 7:17because we're gonna do some more fellas.
- 7:21Did I? Oh yeah, Because birthday girl,
- 7:23that's right. To be fair, when it comes to
- 7:27women, women, books, I don't know any.
- 7:31This is the only one I knew. We need to branch out.
- 7:34This has been our first proper main character lesbian book.
- 7:40Except for seven husbands, obviously.
- 7:42Yeah, but I feel like that didn't really count.
- 7:44No, there was a lot of men involved.
- 7:46Yeah, too many. Too many men, Too many men.
- 7:48About 7:00. Yeah, around that.
- 7:51Probably more. Probably more or less.
- 7:53I love it. Fan behavior.
- 7:55I'm here for the representation, but I'm not here for the plot.
- 8:00Fair. Fair.
- 8:01OK, I agree. Penelope Douglas writes all her
- 8:04books exactly the same. I feel like you would know, but
- 8:07you haven't read the Devil Night series and it's literally the
- 8:09same thing, but just women. Yeah, okay.
- 8:12What I do like about the pea dog is.
- 8:14She never has a very boring sex scene, if that makes sense.
- 8:19They're always like wacky doodle scenario.
- 8:22Actually, yeah, they are, cuz you know other writers, you can
- 8:25just tell it's the exact same sequence of what's happening.
- 8:28Whereas she has different settings, she has different blah
- 8:31blah and she always has the taboo couples all the time.
- 8:34That's like her. Must be her favorite.
- 8:36It's always got to have some weird reason that they're
- 8:39together and I'm into it. Yeah.
- 8:41Oh my God, can I just say and look, I normally have a bit
- 8:45extra time to read a book, so this is probably my bad, but I
- 8:47feel like this book, it was hard for me to follow what was going
- 8:50on. I feel like things weren't
- 8:52described very well. It.
- 8:53Dragged, But things weren't described because they'd be
- 8:56talking to each other. And I'm like, they're on a float
- 8:59or like that, you know what I mean?
- 9:00Like they'd be dialogue. And they'd be thinking in their
- 9:03head, and then they'll be describing how short her genes
- 9:07are or what someone's skin look like.
- 9:08But I'm like where are? They give.
- 9:10Me, some basic arts, foundational information.
- 9:13P dog. Like, I'm floating in one of
- 9:16three places, essentially. And it was school and their
- 9:20homes. That was it.
- 9:22All I got was Clay had a nice home and Olivia lived in a swamp
- 9:26trash, right? We know that Olivia has five
- 9:30brothers. We've given such a basic
- 9:33description. We know Macon, Macon.
- 9:36Macon Bacon is the oldest one, right?
- 9:38Mavis Beacon is the best. The old Mavis.
- 9:42She taught everyone how to type. Also, he was like the surrogate
- 9:47dad. Daddy was.
- 9:50He was. He was Daddy.
- 9:51He was daddy, and he had to take.
- 9:53Over when both parents died. Yeah, when he was 23.
- 9:57She was 10. I think she's youngest.
- 10:00Yeah, she's baby. I was getting so confused with
- 10:03all the brothers I know, but give us some distinguishing
- 10:06features or anything about any of them.
- 10:08Yeah, I know one had baby Mama drama.
- 10:10Yeah. I kept getting confused.
- 10:12And then, especially when they added jobs for them in, I was
- 10:14like, who does the the gardening?
- 10:19And then I talked about another one.
- 10:20I was like, isn't that the other brother?
- 10:22But I was just wrong all the time.
- 10:25I needed some a bit more foundational help, and I think
- 10:28that's just because I'm an idiot.
- 10:29I'm not going to read every single word.
- 10:31You're going to write Pennell like I'm not.
- 10:33No. But The thing is like she
- 10:35dragged because I think. I got to lie, it was like 250
- 10:38pages and I just assumed it was done.
- 10:40I didn't check the pages. I just, I was like, ah, we've
- 10:44had the thing, we've got conflict.
- 10:45They did together. Now that's it.
- 10:46And then it just kept going for another 300 kids confused about
- 10:51the plot. Kind of just stayed at the same
- 10:53level the entire time. There was no big build.
- 10:56Up and no Big Crash. There was no, it wasn't a roller
- 11:00coaster. It was just flatlining.
- 11:02Yeah, the whole time. Adding to the brothers too.
- 11:05It felt like I liked reading with them.
- 11:08And scenes, yeah, but there's so many added unnecessary
- 11:12characters. Yeah, that made no sense.
- 11:16Like Chloe in the end. What was her point?
- 11:19What was the point? There was a lot of people that
- 11:20were just there to make them jealous, but they weren't
- 11:22actually into weird. I don't know.
- 11:25But Clay is the more popular one, and she had her best
- 11:29friends, Amy. And what was the other one?
- 11:31Christian. Yeah, actually.
- 11:33Christian And then there was Callum, Milo and the other one.
- 11:39There was an extra 1. They're all the frat kind of
- 11:42guys. Clay works part time at the
- 11:46Mortuary. Yes, because secretly brother
- 11:49died and she just fucking laid up on a slab the night of
- 11:53fucking what she was 14. Sorry.
- 11:57Even more reason not to do that. Crazy.
- 12:01She's greeting me jumping a teenage girl, but like, how do
- 12:06you even get in? First of all, security.
- 12:10It's a Funeral Home. What security do they need,
- 12:12actually, actually, considering they only really hire women.
- 12:17Yeah, that guy got caught sexually abusing A bajillion and
- 12:20that was under a hospital. That's just one guy to the many
- 12:24that do it. That's the reason our security
- 12:27bitch. I would love to debate with you
- 12:31one day. New podcast video We debate.
- 12:35Serious topics. Can you just prove my point?
- 12:40No, I know. But at the time I wasn't
- 12:45thinking about how gross men can be.
- 12:50Bitch, It's all I think about. When I wake up, I was just.
- 12:54I thought we would have a break from that this book, but clearly
- 12:57it's still riddled with it. This book is going to let us off
- 13:00that hook. Nah, it's honestly, it put us on
- 13:02more. More of the hook.
- 13:03Exactly. And Olivia?
- 13:07Works at a tailor's like a dressmaking shop with some shit
- 13:11on Fucking pee dog, please. Help me out girl.
- 13:17Is it because their personalities should be the
- 13:21other way around to their jobs? No, no, no.
- 13:24I just never know where anybody is at any given time in this
- 13:26book because they they have dialogue and the thoughts in
- 13:29their head and then the actions that they're doing, but nobody
- 13:33thought to put the. Backdrop of where each scene is.
- 13:36You know what I mean? So I was always, I was like,
- 13:39treading water in this pitch. I just always assumed the school
- 13:45just sewing at school. Yeah.
- 13:47So Clay needs a dress, bro. This is the most embarrassing
- 13:51thing. OK, you ready?
- 13:54It took me. I'm still not entirely
- 13:57confident, but it took me fucking 50% through the book to
- 14:01understand what sport they were playing.
- 14:04You mean lacrosse? I fucking thought it was hockey.
- 14:09It's kind of the same. Oh wait, is it?
- 14:13Were they playing hockey or lacrosse?
- 14:15Lacrosse. Oh shit, OK, it's so I didn't
- 14:19want the same. It had sticks.
- 14:21Do they keep it on the ground or do they?
- 14:24Is lacrosse the one on the ground?
- 14:26This is the one where they throw it in there, but they were doing
- 14:28a lot of. But it didn't say like once you
- 14:33know Clay and Olivia, they've been on the same lacrosse team
- 14:36it. Did talk?
- 14:38No. Well, I feel like it didn't.
- 14:43And then, like the point where she goes.
- 14:44This is why I joined the lacrosse.
- 14:55I don't have reading comprehension.
- 14:58Oh shit, I don't know. And it was a lot at the start.
- 15:02I thought they were in like Enemy Teens because it made a
- 15:05lot of sense because that would make more simple in each other
- 15:08and oh geez. But anyway, they're on the same
- 15:11lacrosse team, Lacrosse team. So the dressmaking scene.
- 15:15So Clay needed a dress. And it was the debutante.
- 15:19Yeah, the debut taste, debut taste.
- 15:23And that's why she was going there, because Olivia had to.
- 15:27I think she was wearing that dress.
- 15:29I think she was wearing, like, her old Oscarmas dress, her
- 15:35Mimi's. Oh really?
- 15:37Yeah. Oh, and then they they were
- 15:39tailoring it, customizing it. But they hate each other.
- 15:44They've hate each other for at least three years.
- 15:47It's the gays, right? So gay relationships start just
- 15:52fucking hating each other the. Bullies.
- 15:54The bullying was weird. I was like, it's a bully
- 15:57romance. Have you read a bully romance?
- 16:00Not technically, except for that Saints one, but that was more
- 16:03like abusive than school bullying.
- 16:05Oh, the famous ones. Yeah, that one.
- 16:07Yeah, that one was weird, though.
- 16:08That's not a good that wasn't like a school bully.
- 16:11That doesn't count as a book. Also, the part of the taboo part
- 16:16of this was there in opposing families.
- 16:20It was very fetishized. A little bit, yeah.
- 16:24And it was funny because they were doing Romeo and Juliet as
- 16:26the play, and it's very much Romeo and Juliet.
- 16:29Them. Yeah, with the opposing
- 16:30families, it was like, slap me around the face with it, why
- 16:33don't you? Again, again, I get it.
- 16:38Only one thing I do understand. I every time they did the play
- 16:41bits. I'm not going to lie, I just
- 16:42skimmed. I didn't even read it.
- 16:44I I'm just not a fan. A Nah.
- 16:47I can't read through someone practicing.
- 16:50It's like trying to read the script of Glee episode.
- 16:52I do not care. It gives me the ick.
- 16:54It's like going to a live bench. No, no.
- 16:59It's like watching your boyfriend sing and play guitar.
- 17:04Does it? No, it's too much dress.
- 17:09But in the dressing room scenes, I don't even know, like, what is
- 17:13going on, like get someone else to line you up or whatever.
- 17:16Wouldn't you just stab her with a pin?
- 17:19She's pretty much put of Nick a couple of times.
- 17:22And so Megan is the assistant coach.
- 17:26Yeah, she's a couple years older than them, a year or two.
- 17:29But the the reason why that was scandalous is because she's a
- 17:33student and she's the assistant coach, so she's technically
- 17:36staff. Yeah.
- 17:37And at the start, I didn't even think Megan liked her.
- 17:39I'm so. Oblivious, I was like.
- 17:42Like, whatever. I was like, just anyone being
- 17:44nice to Olivia. Yeah, And then Clay was so
- 17:47pissed. Yeah, she's like, no one's
- 17:49allowed to be nice to her. No one's allowed to spot her.
- 17:52But her team, Everyone has to treat her election.
- 17:54And technically, everyone does treat Olivia election.
- 17:57They call her a dike, like everyone.
- 17:59The general populist doesn't like her family.
- 18:02They're all dropped out. They're all known for being the
- 18:04complete skanks of town. They're weird to me in that
- 18:07sense, but we can get to that. Yeah, there's a lot of things I
- 18:10have to say about that, but I mean, yeah, that's that's all it
- 18:14is. We know that they've been
- 18:15bullying each other back and forth for three whole years.
- 18:18I actually don't understand the turn around by the end of the
- 18:20book of no one bullying her at all.
- 18:22What the fuck? Because it's like her and Clay
- 18:24are together and now no one's bullying her.
- 18:26Yeah, Problem solve it. Problem solved.
- 18:29It was only clay that was the problem, apparently.
- 18:31Would you ever? I know it's a bully romance, but
- 18:33would you ever forgive someone treating you like that for four
- 18:36years? No, absolutely not.
- 18:38But then that wouldn't be enemies to lovers, would it?
- 18:41I know, but this one, this enemy's lovers, feels more
- 18:44gross. OK, the bullying behavior
- 18:47beforehand. I feel like it got worse when
- 18:49they were like flirting and getting understanding that they
- 18:53liked each other. It was fucking worse during that
- 18:54time than anything before. Why The fuck was every time they
- 18:59were being sexual with each other, someone had it filmed.
- 19:01Every single time they're either filming or taking photos.
- 19:05Of it. It's like bitch Gossip Girl,
- 19:07yeah. But like this bitch that you
- 19:09shouldn't technically trust, they both had so much blackmail
- 19:13on each other. Yeah.
- 19:15It was weird. On Penelope Douglas does Worlds
- 19:18out of this world. Yeah.
- 19:19It's like this person that could technically flip around and say
- 19:22that they were just fucking with me the whole time.
- 19:24Yeah, it's cool that they film us doing this and have it on
- 19:28their phone and put it on YouTube.
- 19:31What young person is putting something on YouTube is going to
- 19:33have no views? It's going to be embarrassing
- 19:35considering they kept bringing up TikTok.
- 19:37I'm surprised they didn't just be like, oh, I uploaded it to
- 19:40TikTok and why would revenge porn be on YouTube?
- 19:43Who's looking at that Exactly like 20 year old men.
- 19:46Actually true because who's searching up that?
- 19:48Exactly what are you? You'd have to share it on your
- 19:50Facebook and it'd be embarrassing.
- 19:52Like no one shares a full YouTube video these days.
- 19:54Not of that, at least. You know that it would be like a
- 19:56Snapchat story that got deleted after 5 seconds, not a fucking
- 19:59YouTube video where it's going to get.
- 20:01Demonetized and D It's going to get a lot more work to upload it
- 20:05to YouTube than it is to tick tock to.
- 20:08Yeah, it's going to process for like a whole hour.
- 20:11She had that whole time to choose if she was going to.
- 20:14Cancel it. She actually had.
- 20:16I regretted it as soon as I posted it.
- 20:17Fuck, it's buffering for half an hour.
- 20:19How did you not change your mind in that time frame?
- 20:25It doesn't make me. Have you been on the computer
- 20:30before? Do you know how this works?
- 20:32I mean, if you're gonna write about 17 year olds.
- 20:34Also, let's OK. I had to pretend the entire time
- 20:39that we were not reading about 17 year olds because it was
- 20:42icky. Yeah, true.
- 20:43I didn't actually think about it until now.
- 20:45It was so icky because I'm just too.
- 20:46Old. Yeah, I was like more pretending
- 20:50that I was that age at the same time when I was reading it.
- 20:52OK. Fair, fair, fair.
- 20:53Because I was just like, yeah, OK, that's the only way to read
- 20:56it. I suppose there's a bit where
- 20:57there's a scavenger hunt. Oh yeah, and it's hosted by the
- 21:01school, but there's like a fake. There's a real scavenger hunt
- 21:05that's hosted by the school, but then there's a completely
- 21:08different list that everyone just does.
- 21:10I don't understand anything about that because it was like
- 21:14something that their side of the town did, but the school was
- 21:17like, if you're going to participate, you can do it
- 21:19without scavenger, huntless, yeah, doesn't matter.
- 21:23They're going to go wherever anyway.
- 21:25It's not even during school time.
- 21:26And they called it Night Tide. I think she was trying to relate
- 21:30to Devil's Night. So she has another separate
- 21:33series. It's like four or five books,
- 21:35and there's Devil's Night. It's like Halloween, where they
- 21:37run around and do shit like that.
- 21:39But they weren't giving us much. It was just go into the male's
- 21:43toilet and get a condom. And then a couple was banging in
- 21:46there. Yeah.
- 21:47Cool. Yeah.
- 21:49And then Clay got taken to her brother, which didn't make
- 21:53sense. I didn't.
- 21:54I feel like that wasn't on the list, wasn't it?
- 21:56Get a photo of you in an older man's bed.
- 21:59No, but that's what they did. They took a photo of her in
- 22:03Macon's bed. No, that was, I think, Clay's
- 22:06list. Yeah.
- 22:07No, I think she's just doing that to be funny because she
- 22:10waiting to make in bed like they trashed the house and then she
- 22:13was like this. Will send them into a spiral.
- 22:15I thought that was one of the things on the list.
- 22:16No. Did they even know that they
- 22:19liked each other yet? I don't.
- 22:21I think they had already kissed on the lacrosse field, or when
- 22:26they she pinned her down. I don't think they kissed.
- 22:28She was just struggling. Her.
- 22:30That's right. There was something.
- 22:31There was something tense. No, Yes.
- 22:34So they were straddling, she was straddling her, and they were in
- 22:36the rain, and then they went inside and that's where she
- 22:38drawed on her with all the sharpie.
- 22:40That was weird. Why would you let her keep?
- 22:44Yeah, I don't understand. Why would you?
- 22:46Why would you take your bra off and like, let her take your and
- 22:49I walk away, Just walk away. What's she going to do?
- 22:53I didn't. Get what was going on in that
- 22:55scene either. I was like, is this payback
- 22:57because she gets to see her at the dress shop, undressed kind
- 23:00of thing? Was that the point?
- 23:02Yeah, I don't know. How much would you kick that
- 23:03bitch in the head? If you if someone started
- 23:05writing Cellulite, if you can't touch me anyway, like what?
- 23:09Are you going to chase me? That's worse.
- 23:11You just look more weird if you don't.
- 23:13Chase me. They always have these weird
- 23:16moments on their own in the school.
- 23:18Like, why is the school always conveniently empty?
- 23:21Oh yeah, at all times? Who?
- 23:23How are you getting into the school all the time?
- 23:26And then so the guys, like, didn't clay hop on Iron's bike,
- 23:32motorbike during the scavenger hunt?
- 23:33Yeah, it was so weird. It was really weird because he
- 23:36was outside, I think the school or whatever function thing they
- 23:41were. Everything's the school.
- 23:42Everything's the school. It was so confusing, actually.
- 23:44That day I was so confused about where she was, cuz she got
- 23:47changed and had to get her mom to take her clothes home from
- 23:50the dressing room or something. But he was conveniently there
- 23:53just in front of exactly where she was.
- 23:55And then he didn't want to take her anywhere.
- 23:57And he was like, no, you're not happening.
- 23:59And he only let her when strangers came up and tried to
- 24:02give her a ride and she was like in a miniskirt, like trying to
- 24:05flash him or something. And I'm like, brah, there's easy
- 24:08ways to get a lift. She was.
- 24:11Just get her UPA like everyone pulling up her G.
- 24:13String and shit. Like that's what it sounded
- 24:15like. She was like, drop her down,
- 24:18Jack's in front of him. That's what it sounded.
- 24:20Like, could you just imagine? She's like a G string, but it's
- 24:26like up near her bra. She's like fuels for him, like
- 24:29she's doing. A Kath and Kim Hell walking down
- 24:31the road. Oh OK, so some of the
- 24:35homophobia. So Clay's family is the quitty,
- 24:38twitty, snobby ones that own everything, blah blah blah.
- 24:42Her parents are going through blah blah boring divorce
- 24:45problems, blah blah blah blah and she knows it.
- 24:48But they act like she's 5 and they're not ready to tell her he
- 24:51has a whole ass girlfriend. He's never at home.
- 24:55He's never there. He's letting her smoke.
- 24:58Yeah, like cigarettes not give a shit.
- 25:00Anyway, grandma's talking to Clay one day.
- 25:03Did you think that her speech was literally talking about
- 25:07doing gay shit? Because it really sounded like,
- 25:09yeah, I thought Mimi was gay and Mimi is just like, it's OK dear,
- 25:13everyone in the family is gay. You just.
- 25:15Don't want to be open about it. You just be gay.
- 25:19Just being gay at home. But.
- 25:22Like that's the whole competition sounded.
- 25:24Like, fuck off, grandma. That's what it was like.
- 25:28I'm like, I'm trying to work out if grandma knew she was gay, but
- 25:31then it feels like she didn't know she was gay.
- 25:33No, she was so mad about it, but she was the one who's pretty
- 25:36much saying just be gay, just go be gay, girl, just go to stay in
- 25:40the closet, but be gay. The only moments of enjoyment in
- 25:43our entire family lineage is when we're off doing gay shit,
- 25:46but we only do it once every year.
- 25:49It's like the only time we ever have any fun when we're doing
- 25:53gay shit off the ghost. But it was.
- 25:55But it was like, but keep that shit to yourself.
- 25:58You have a gay parade at the worst, but like, what is going
- 26:03on there? That was the weirdest
- 26:05conversation I've ever had to participate in.
- 26:08Mimi's gays and Clay's gays are two different gays, OK?
- 26:14I feel like Mimi's Loki talking. About the dad and the dad's
- 26:17actually got a boyfriend like off in Miami.
- 26:19He's also like stage. Why is it dancing with these in
- 26:27a full gay nightclub that he's the leather?
- 26:30And that's what Grandma was trying to like, hint at.
- 26:32And then Clay sitting there going, can't wait to fuck
- 26:35Olivia. She's like, is this the green
- 26:38light? Does she know?
- 26:40But why do you need a green light from your grandma?
- 26:42Me. Like she's too old.
- 26:45She's dying soon anyway. She was like, she's too old.
- 26:49She's too old to have an opinion.
- 26:54I don't know why. I thought this bitch was, like,
- 26:56crippled in a wheelchair like you.
- 26:58She sounded just go through your shit props.
- 27:01She sounded emotionally crippled, that's why.
- 27:04Yeah. What?
- 27:05OK, you're not that old, Grandma.
- 27:06The times have changed. You're.
- 27:08Like, relaxed. It's not like she was 100 years
- 27:11old and you're like, oh, it's fine, We we'll just live it out.
- 27:14She'll there's no point in explaining it that her brain's
- 27:17Wheeling grandma me into the nearest retirement home.
- 27:19That's how she was talking. That's too expensive.
- 27:22There's a whole of alligators. For us so true, just off the end
- 27:28of a short pier benoing. She's just going for her
- 27:33midnight stroll to a lot of hair.
- 27:35I just. I just don't get Grandma, what
- 27:38was the big thing? That was it was posting that
- 27:40video that was too much. Yeah, because Clay was creeping
- 27:44in the bushes when Olivia was full making out with Megan in
- 27:48the car. Yeah, that's too much.
- 27:49Like, did you walk past or did you?
- 27:51She was obviously stalking her. She just, she was out sniffing
- 27:55the car. She's been here.
- 27:59She Clay Wood. She's like, she's like.
- 28:03She's come back outside and then.
- 28:06She's like, how dare she, A single gay woman.
- 28:10Well, sort of child dot dot dot question mark.
- 28:14How dare she make out with a girl in a car all the bullet?
- 28:19If you're gonna bully someone for fucking three years without
- 28:22being gay, at least be consistent with allowing her to
- 28:24fucking hook up with someone. Let her be gay.
- 28:27Like, let her be gay like you can't bully someone for that
- 28:29much about doing something. And then the one time she gets
- 28:32laid, you're like, how dare? How dare she be gay?
- 28:36That's somewhat considerate of my feelings.
- 28:39How dare she do gay shit when I've been teasing her for a
- 28:42million years and she's literally gay?
- 28:46It's. Funny, But anyway, that's the
- 28:49video that got posted on YouTube, right?
- 28:51And then Clay regretted it. So then Olivia just reposted it.
- 28:56Yeah, Olivia woke up that link to all these notifications and
- 28:58she's like, oh shit. And then Clay deleted it.
- 29:01And then Olivia, by the time she talked to Clay again, Clay's
- 29:05like, I'm so sorry, I. Regret it and have an app and
- 29:08then she's like and then Olivia's like bitch, I've got it
- 29:12on a different account. Here it is, and it's going to
- 29:14hire you count and it's monetized.
- 29:18And then she's like, this is how I'm paying for that Now what?
- 29:21I can't control you bullying yourself, but that's all it was
- 29:26about. It was about controlling who was
- 29:28allowed to bully Olivia, and it only could be Clay in place.
- 29:32Bullying anyone is the weirdest shit ever, because she's like,
- 29:35I'm so powerful. And then she what?
- 29:37You go to college and it's like the Blair waldoss of of Gossip
- 29:42Girl all over again when no one gives a shit about her.
- 29:44But The thing is, no one gave that much of a shit about Olivia
- 29:47being gay. Nah, it was only Clay.
- 29:50Clay's like this guy. Is giving just gonna get out of
- 29:55the school? There was so many so straight
- 29:59there gays. She's the reason why we have to
- 30:02have shower cubicles instead of 1 big prison shower like.
- 30:08What the fuck? Like who wants a prison shower?
- 30:10And that's just good idea for private.
- 30:12Should have been there. It's a private school.
- 30:15You pay millions of dollars to go there.
- 30:16They should have had cubicles anyway.
- 30:19I know. How hard is it to build a
- 30:20fucking cubicle? I mean, even public schools have
- 30:23that. I just feel like bare minimum.
- 30:25Being Australian, you always have cubicles, yeah?
- 30:28What the fuck? Sometimes, from what I remember
- 30:33from our public pool, I don't know if you've ever been in the
- 30:35public pool here. They don't have curtains.
- 30:40So you just thought, so you're just in a cubicle?
- 30:43Yeah, I remember cubicles having curtains back in my day, so I'm
- 30:49the only traumatizer. Maybe I just went to a shitter
- 30:51pill that you you wandered into the wrong area.
- 30:54You you walked into the nudist school, considering I went to a
- 30:59public school and you went to private school.
- 31:01I feel like this is what happened and This is why.
- 31:09Well, the public school couldn't spring for curtains.
- 31:14Where is the my tax money going? I feel like you were.
- 31:19You were never supposed to get naked in the public pool
- 31:21showers, but old women just get it all.
- 31:25But even like Australian locker rooms, you wouldn't get dressed
- 31:28down to the nutty. I feel like we're kind of
- 31:31conservative, like in gym bathroom, like you'd go in your
- 31:35cubicle to get change, but so locker room means something
- 31:39totally different over here. I suppose when you watch
- 31:41American TV shows, they'll have the locker room and they have
- 31:43them two. Like it's it's not separate
- 31:46showers on the wall. It's like 1 pole with six
- 31:48showers. Around, Yeah, Yeah.
- 31:50So that's even worse. So you're just making eye
- 31:52contact, being orgy in there every day.
- 31:54Fucking teenage hormones are kidding.
- 31:57They're just asking for people to get bullied at that point.
- 31:59Like, why are you supposed to shower?
- 32:01How do you got any privacy? I'm like a never nude in my own
- 32:05house Now I'm kidding. But I don't know how people look
- 32:10at this, people looking at my bits at my booty hole.
- 32:15First of all, why is your booty hole out?
- 32:21Sometimes it needs air. Really.
- 32:25In the public? Locker room is the the correct
- 32:28setting for that? I'm.
- 32:30Really setting for that, that's a little shivasana with your.
- 32:35Ass in the head. She was getting athlete's feet
- 32:38on your hands. The like public toilet.
- 32:42Oh my God, when is it a cry to have my ass hole free?
- 32:52So while Emily's giving everyone pink eye in the fucking.
- 32:55Shower room? Are you kidding?
- 32:56I know how to wash my own ass. Jesus.
- 33:01For us, I think we've never. Had to be in the wrong room
- 33:04together, because I would learn how thoroughly cleansed your
- 33:09fucking ass is in the certain baffling.
- 33:12OK, there's certain things I don't need to know.
- 33:18They're fucking. Dumb, actually, In Hawaii, To be
- 33:22fair, I wouldn't play any sports, so that's not a problem
- 33:25for me anyway. So Olivia was quitting school
- 33:29and quitting the team, and I think it was after the video.
- 33:32I think that was the final straw.
- 33:33Or there was something else. There was so much more.
- 33:35Oops, That's all I remember. Do you remember something
- 33:39before? So it's right at night Tide.
- 33:42OK, Yeah. So it's after night Tide.
- 33:44Remember when she stole the flag after dumping the bin?
- 33:49All the rubbish on Megan and they ran out into the swampland.
- 33:54That was so hilarious. Like I forgot about that.
- 33:57And then they just like pinned to a tree.
- 33:59And then there's hissing from the alligator stove.
- 34:01Why were you near the swamp? Is there swamps everywhere?
- 34:05The bit that was the best was when Olivia looked back
- 34:07dramatically and they just fucking booked it with their
- 34:10eyes everywhere. And then she just fucking read
- 34:13off. She was the best part, yeah.
- 34:15And then they rocked. Well, she rocked back up at
- 34:18school. And wasn't she feeling kind of
- 34:20bad clay? She's like excited to see her
- 34:24and she did. Is that when she did the
- 34:25flowers? Yeah, it was her birthday and
- 34:28then the coach or whatever is like, we've got to replace her
- 34:31position on the field because she's quit and she's going to
- 34:33home school and then Clay's in the shower and then Olivia's
- 34:37just. There, bare ass, naked in Clay's
- 34:40shower. How did she sneak in and get
- 34:42naked like they were just like, oh, she's not at practice, but
- 34:44she's just getting naked in there and no one else is.
- 34:47No one noticed. Why the fuck would school
- 34:51showers have a detachable shower head?
- 34:53All I'm saying, all I'm saying is they knew this was going to
- 34:58happen and instead of going the opposite, responsible way,
- 35:03they're like, let's just let it happen.
- 35:04There's no way they would do that.
- 35:07There's no. Way it was hilarious.
- 35:10I mean, if you're gonna spend $50,000 on a remodel, you might
- 35:13as well get the detachable shower heads.
- 35:16None of the girls would be leaving the bathroom.
- 35:20Where's the heart? Oh, they're in this.
- 35:22They're just they must love getting ready here.
- 35:26Then none of them had time to shower at home today.
- 35:28They're all just orgy. They're just lining up out the
- 35:30door. It's like timing it.
- 35:33Your 5 minutes is up, Kristen. This probably this next chunk
- 35:39was a bit of. Them playing lacrosse and shit,
- 35:42I'm so zoned out. Okay.
- 35:44So she quit school. Yeah.
- 35:47And then Kristen decided that she did not want to play the
- 35:51position that, yeah, I forget which position it was.
- 35:54It doesn't matter. So she shows up and convinces
- 35:58Olivia to go, and then they show up at the hotel and then there,
- 36:02Olivia's like, winning the game at this point.
- 36:04And then Christian. No Christian.
- 36:05And then Clay jumps in and then they get in the fight and they
- 36:08forfeit. And that's how they end up in
- 36:10the hotel room. And that's when they have sex
- 36:12for the second time, OK? There was time in the locker
- 36:15room where they were making out and like, grinding, standing up.
- 36:19And I'm just trying to work out the logistics because that's how
- 36:21that happened. That's a lot of.
- 36:23This is how you know I'm not gay.
- 36:27It's too difficult to be gay. They both have one leg up.
- 36:32I feel like everyone had a leg up and I feel like that that's
- 36:35why I'm confused. I'm like, that's a lot of weight
- 36:38on one leg shower, so. No, she's on the locker wall,
- 36:43all right. Yeah, yeah, Yeah.
- 36:45I need to Google this later. I don't even.
- 36:49I don't even know. Don't you think the book was
- 36:51trying to be like a hockey romance?
- 36:54Because they tried to put the sport in there like we're
- 36:56supposed to care, kind of like. Cool.
- 36:59Yeah, I think it was just to add, but it wasn't enough.
- 37:02No, the sport, but you need to. The sport needs to be
- 37:04consistently from beginning to end.
- 37:06Yeah, they were trying to cram too many different things.
- 37:09Funny how long the book was and considering how much they tried
- 37:12to jam in there. Yeah, there was lacrosse.
- 37:14There was this fucking over the Tracks debutante.
- 37:17Yeah, the scavenger hunt thing. Working in the Funeral Home,
- 37:21doing dress designing theater. There's a lot.
- 37:24I know. There was so much time to fuck
- 37:2824/7. And then, OK, so we didn't even
- 37:31talk about this, but you know the the start, Callum.
- 37:34And the guys? What the fuck was that?
- 37:39That we had packed thing at the very beginning?
- 37:42How? It was pretty much saying, oh,
- 37:43yeah, I'll, I'll forfeit the lead in the play if you fuck
- 37:49Clay in front of us. Like a performance sort of
- 37:52thing. No, it wasn't even Clay.
- 37:53It was some random girl. Yeah, but I thought it was
- 37:56supposed to be clay. No.
- 37:57And I was like, why did you stitch?
- 37:59Sexual predator. That's all it is.
- 38:01But why did Olivia pretty much agree to it?
- 38:04Cuz she wasn't going to go, I don't think.
- 38:06And you just didn't get she. They never gave us more context
- 38:08of why she really needed it. Besides that she didn't get a
- 38:12lead role. Cuz I thought, OK, this sounds
- 38:14way more juicy. Cuz I thought it was gonna be a
- 38:16pact where she was like, yeah, I can have sex with Clay and then
- 38:20I'll get the lead role. And then along the way she liked
- 38:24her and then she did it and then it got found out after because
- 38:28then that would make her look really horrible.
- 38:30And I thought that's how they were going to break up.
- 38:32Yeah, because that makes sense because then Clay would be like.
- 38:35You used me all year, but no, it was like you have sex with this
- 38:40random girl in front of us to so we can get off on it.
- 38:43Reason it was so, yeah, like, brah, just pay someone to do
- 38:48that. What's going on?
- 38:49You guys are rich. I mean, you paid one girl.
- 38:50Why couldn't you pay another one?
- 38:51I know you're so rich. But it was to get back at
- 38:54Dallas. Like it had to be Olivia.
- 38:57Yeah, it had to be Olivia. If you had to hear about this
- 38:59fucking flag one more time. Yeah, actually, it made no
- 39:03fucking sense. Just make a new one.
- 39:05Is this like, the family flag? And so it was just you've got a
- 39:08whole fucking sewing lady in your mouth.
- 39:11Just make another one. And they've already got their
- 39:15underlying issues because of the land and what developments are
- 39:19coming up and blah, blah, blah. We never got to understand what
- 39:22what happened with any of that. For Macon's trouble, he was
- 39:26like, he's under so much stress as well.
- 39:27Than you know what? Tell us what is.
- 39:32I mean, you've got all this time.
- 39:34Yeah. Just give me a minute.
- 39:36Yeah. Explain it.
- 39:37Yeah, exactly. I don't think she's too, like,
- 39:39young to not understand. She understands perfectly fine.
- 39:42I know. They're like, old enough now.
- 39:45Oh, my God. Sorry.
- 39:45There's this bit in the book and there's an actual quote.
- 39:48And I was dying. I gasp, nearly choking on my
- 39:52breath as my knees give out and I slide down the wall.
- 39:56And I can't deal with the fact that she was actually crying,
- 39:59sliding down the wall. Shittings this is.
- 40:03The most dramatic book I've ever read like it's giving teenager.
- 40:09That's probably the entirely the whole point.
- 40:12She's crying, sliding down the wall.
- 40:13I never cry about anything. So I'm.
- 40:16I couldn't relate. It can't relate same.
- 40:19I don't even know. I don't even know because I
- 40:20think they both did it at some point.
- 40:24The funny thing is, is I feel like their own problems, they
- 40:28made them seem so much worse than they even were anyway.
- 40:32Yeah, because even when the coach walked in on them
- 40:34practically grinding on each other, they said that makes a
- 40:36lot of sense and just walked out.
- 40:38Yeah, not a single person. Cared.
- 40:41No. No one was doing.
- 40:42Not even the parents. They were the only ones
- 40:44recording each other. No one was even recording it and
- 40:47putting it on like T Tock being like, oh look at these fucking
- 40:49lesbians. Nobody cares.
- 40:51I actually think it was only Clay recording.
- 40:54I don't remember Olivia doing. It oh, no one cares.
- 40:58Girlies, relax. Everyone's doing their own
- 41:01things. It's the most dramatic book I've
- 41:02ever read. Considering what's been
- 41:04happening. It's kind of like, bro, you guys
- 41:06all brought this on yourself and then you get to the end and they
- 41:10have little, they mentioned little side plot, very small
- 41:14slide plots and like that would have been more interesting.
- 41:18OK, so can we get to the hotel room where they properly first
- 41:21have sex? Where they fuck there's two
- 41:23other girls. They had stayed up all night.
- 41:25They're like, chitchatting at the same time, though.
- 41:28Yeah, I'd be like, shut the fuck up, bitch.
- 41:31I'm trying to sleep. If there's no way they're that
- 41:34heavier of a sleeper, No way. There's no way.
- 41:37Why actually think they got up and left so immediately?
- 41:41Because they knew that they were doing shit in the bed?
- 41:43Yeah, because there's no way you'd hang around.
- 41:45Because if that was normal, right?
- 41:47And you're just four girls after a big night and you're in the
- 41:50same hotel room. You'd press fucking snooze or
- 41:54you'd screw. On TikTok you'd be in bed.
- 41:57You wouldn't. Just be like, I'm gonna go get
- 41:58Starbucks. I'm gonna go to the shower.
- 42:00I wouldn't immediately. She didn't even get dressed.
- 42:03She went in her pajamas. They knew they must have.
- 42:06No, Kristen didn't know. She did bring it up.
- 42:08Like towards the end. Yeah, she was the moment in bed,
- 42:11grinding and moaning on each other.
- 42:13Once, when I was like 16, a girl, I was friends.
- 42:17I was on a bunk bed and a girl I was friends with had sex on the
- 42:19bottom bunk bed and she thought I was dead asleep and I'm still
- 42:22traumatized and you're just like, I'm here, bitch.
- 42:25You can't. There's no way to not hear it.
- 42:27There's no way. Do you reckon they just laid
- 42:31there? Like, what do we do?
- 42:32Probably. They probably set up their
- 42:34alarm. They're like trying to get out
- 42:36and out to get out of it, yeah. Because you know, when you're
- 42:39that awkward third wheel person. Yeah, you can't just get up and
- 42:43leave. You'd have to do one of these
- 42:45ones. Oh geez.
- 42:48Oh, I am awake. Oh, I really need.
- 42:51I need Starbucks in my pajamas. Bye bye.
- 42:54Bye. She didn't even put her shoes
- 42:55on. She was, like, racing out the
- 42:57door. She's like, I've had enough.
- 42:58I need a minute. Oh my God.
- 43:00So I've been violated. So it's funny because I was
- 43:04warned about the debutante for the entire book was.
- 43:07It any less angry when we got to it?
- 43:10No, I was more angry. I was equally angry.
- 43:15Equally because why? It's so.
- 43:19Weird and. The whole book.
- 43:22They were fitting this stupid fucking dress and then what
- 43:25happens? They just buy different dress
- 43:28and then it just makes her fucking tux.
- 43:33Yeah, cuz Clay chooses the tux we got about girl choices.
- 43:36OK after. Wearing this dress all year, I'm
- 43:41as mad as the grandma now. Remember how she's like I can
- 43:44feel my grandma's madness somewhere in the room.
- 43:47How, how, how, how? Go.
- 43:50Mimi's got rage, but before they even get to the ball, they had
- 43:54the weirdest breakup ever. I was like, what the fuck are
- 43:56you guys doing? There was a lot of weird shit in
- 43:59this book. It's like Clayton already goes,
- 44:01I don't like you anymore, and then just walked off.
- 44:05That was. Practically how I read it.
- 44:08And then Olivia was crying and like sewing the tux.
- 44:13She'll love me again. Idiot.
- 44:16Idiot. Oh my God.
- 44:20Just there was like nonstop weird situations they would put
- 44:26in. Like the lighthouse?
- 44:27Yeah, before Kristen was stolen away by my not surprised by
- 44:35Milo. And then they get in a big fight
- 44:38on the street in the rain. Why?
- 44:41Just a little movie moment, Just a little singing in the rain.
- 44:44So are we up to the debutante ball yet?
- 44:46Because no, not much came of it. I don't wait.
- 44:49Was it before the ball? Everything is before the ball.
- 44:53Callum is talking to Clay. And then he just knows that
- 44:56she's had sex. I was what I wanted to know,
- 45:00too, because I don't understand how he knew.
- 45:02He he's like, oh, I can just tell.
- 45:04So who's the guy? No, probably one of the Jager
- 45:07guys or whatever. Jager.
- 45:09What I was like he knows she's gay, but he only knows she's gay
- 45:13because he's gay. But he didn't really know that
- 45:16she was gay because he kept being like, who's the glow I can
- 45:19do better than him? Him.
- 45:20Him. Yeah.
- 45:21And then there was a point where he, like, pinned her to the
- 45:23wall. And then she was looking at
- 45:25Olivia, and she was like, oh, I know.
- 45:27Yeah, but surprise, surprise, Callum was.
- 45:31Weird, so that they're back. They're back at it again, right?
- 45:35And then after Olivia and Clay were hooking up, plays like how
- 45:39did. You lose your virginity, and
- 45:41this was after they had just made a big deal about virginity
- 45:44not mattering. And then, hey, good little pissy
- 45:47about it. She was like, you knew me in
- 45:50that time. It could have been me.
- 45:51Could have been you. Hated each other.
- 45:53You. If you wanted her, you could
- 45:55have. Yeah.
- 45:57But she was too busy calling her a dyke and making everyone hate
- 46:00her. And she's like.
- 46:02How do you hook up with someone else?
- 46:04It could have. Before we even knew that I
- 46:07fucking liked Puss. Clay didn't even know that she
- 46:12liked Girls. And then she's blaming Olivia
- 46:15and she was like, I just wanted to be your first and it would be
- 46:18a bit like a awkward because the situation was bad.
- 46:22Olivia didn't even because that night the girl went and hooked
- 46:25up with her brother Iron. And I'm like, why would that
- 46:28girl need to hook up with her to get to Iron?
- 46:31He's a teenage. She couldn't just work out
- 46:35everyone's ages. Right.
- 46:37But like Iron being part of the family that is just all slots.
- 46:42Yeah. Why would that girl need to
- 46:43sleep with her first to get to him that same day?
- 46:46Apparently a lot of them were doing it.
- 46:48They'd sleep with Trace to get with the other one.
- 46:51I'm like, how big is your age range?
- 46:53Because make him was 33. Yeah, Army was 28.
- 46:58And I'm like, between there, you've got between 18 and 28,
- 47:03right? So if the girl.
- 47:04Hooking up with iron Olivia. Olivia was she was 15 and
- 47:10Iron's. I'm assuming it goes Iron Dallas
- 47:13Trace. God, I don't even know.
- 47:15But that would mean Army's 28. Oh OK.
- 47:19So does that mean like a 20 year old was hooking up with like 15
- 47:25year old? Or an 18 was 15 year old?
- 47:28Or was I and the predator hooking up with 15 year olds?
- 47:33Wild, wild, wild pea dog loves the weird, incestuous
- 47:39relationships too. She does with the brothers, yes.
- 47:42And they're just like tag teaming girls and stuff
- 47:45together, together. Credence was written by her too.
- 47:48Hey, yeah, yeah. And they had the weird threesome
- 47:51with the brothers as well. So confusing.
- 47:54I know they have threesomes. Yeah, all the time.
- 47:57Just high five each other. They're like, cool.
- 47:59I'm like, that's weird, bro. If it was any other man, that
- 48:04would be normal. Don't have a reason with your
- 48:06brother. I knew I.
- 48:07Was just sitting in the bar, pretty lone.
- 48:10I'm like, just just not with your brother.
- 48:13You wouldn't have one with your sister, So don't have one with
- 48:15your brother. Yeah.
- 48:15It's like, do you have any other friends, Bro, It doesn't make
- 48:18any sense. I don't think I'd ever, if I was
- 48:21a man, I don't think I'd ever be that comfortable with my
- 48:24brother. No.
- 48:24What the fuck? That's weird.
- 48:26It's definitely something wrong there and OK, so this was so
- 48:30confusing. Yes, they'd hooked up a couple
- 48:32times, but they'd be back and forth with the hating each other
- 48:36and then they're they're loving each other too now.
- 48:38Yeah, out of nowhere. They haven't even had those
- 48:41proper deep combos yet. Hadn't even had any complain.
- 48:45I love Olivia. No conversation.
- 48:48No conversation at all. That was not a single time they
- 48:52actually had a conversation. And also just admit that you
- 48:55want to go at it like rabbits because of your newfound
- 48:58lesbianism before she goes off to college.
- 49:00Just admit it and just get to it then.
- 49:03Yeah. This is my gripe with a lot of
- 49:05romance books. Like why do they always have to
- 49:07go to? We have to turn this into
- 49:09happily ever after. Yeah.
- 49:10When Realistically, this wouldn't be a happily ever after
- 49:13in real life. No, probably not.
- 49:14It'd be more satisfying if they just hate fucked and then big
- 49:18blow up. Like that'd be way more juicy.
- 49:21But I think people get too upset about it, that authors are too
- 49:24scared to do something like that.
- 49:26There's books written out there like that.
- 49:28There must be. Oh my God, guess what someone's
- 49:31name is Kuma. That.
- 49:36Isn't that the coach. That must be her surname, right?
- 49:41For fuck's sake, I thought it was her first name, because
- 49:43everybody's name is trash. I'm like Kuma into them, like
- 49:48when they were fucking. Dry humping over each other in
- 49:52the locker room, It's just very, very risky.
- 49:55Wide open. They'd be like, look like we
- 49:57don't want anyone to know, but we're just going to dry hump on
- 50:00the desk. That's it.
- 50:01Dry humping on the bleachers in front of everyone, like on the
- 50:04football game. Like we just want anyone to
- 50:05know, though. Don't look at us.
- 50:07I mean, right before Callum traps Clay, she's like fingering
- 50:12her next to the bleachers. Yeah, I didn't get fucked.
- 50:16Yeah, every time they fucked, they were taking photo.
- 50:18Evidence and shit. It's like, OK.
- 50:21And always when they were having sex, a phone would be ringing.
- 50:24Yeah. And she had a phone call with
- 50:26her mom. Yeah, that's great.
- 50:27While Olivia hadn't stopped, and that was after the hotel when
- 50:30they that was their first hook up with the other two girls in
- 50:33the room. Literally get a room.
- 50:34Guys, you live in separate houses like you can.
- 50:38I don't really understand Olivia because at the start of the book
- 50:42she was like, I'll never out you, but then you get passed out
- 50:46about a chapter or two and she immediately wants her outed.
- 50:49I'm like, yeah, she's just coming to term with the fact
- 50:52that she's gay. She's just worked it out that
- 50:54she's gay. But don't you think this was
- 50:56very much by erasure? Yeah.
- 50:59Even the other characters were like, boy doesn't exist, You're
- 51:01clearly gay. It's like she hasn't even
- 51:03figured it out. She was saying, maybe I'm just
- 51:05experimenting. I don't even know if I'm gay.
- 51:07Yeah. And then they're like, you can't
- 51:08be by what? So there's like a zero or
- 51:11lesbian. That's what they acted like.
- 51:13And I was like, what? Because even Olivia Biphobic
- 51:17would be like, you're not bi kind of thing.
- 51:19You're gay. You're straight gay.
- 51:21How do you. She's like, I just want to work
- 51:22at you to know how gay you are. She might.
- 51:24Be She's got a whole lot of time to work it out.
- 51:27And who says she's not just fucking her because she gets
- 51:30like a million orgasms out of it, bro.
- 51:32The fact that Olivia was always the one wearing full clothes,
- 51:36finger blasting clay and then she was coming.
- 51:39How? How?
- 51:40Actually I would like to know but clearly I want to know too.
- 51:45I'm like. They were kissing once and she
- 51:47was like, I'm going to come and I'm like, what?
- 51:52Fucking where? And then also there were bits in
- 51:57there where they acted to this as if them having oral sex or
- 52:01finger busting wasn't enough sex with the hymen thing.
- 52:04They were like, am I gonna be a virgin?
- 52:07Am I still a virgin? Or she has to put something
- 52:10inside me. Otherwise we haven't had.
- 52:12And I was like, that's very decent sex erasure.
- 52:14That doesn't look like. Yeah, I feel like.
- 52:16That doesn't count. They had sex.
- 52:18No, they definitely had sex. That's what I mean.
- 52:20I mean, like the whole Greek sex, like you do it is sex.
- 52:24So you're not a virgin anymore. But they were very much like, we
- 52:26have to go buy a double ended dildo.
- 52:28Otherwise it's not real. I'm like, I'm like, have a yeah.
- 52:32Where I'm like enjoy your double ended dildo, but you've.
- 52:35Already had sex. I know, the virgin, the
- 52:38virginity's longer one. It was like.
- 52:41Where it was so funny. I feel like the constant pussy
- 52:45grinding, yeah. Right.
- 52:48And they were. Like fucking pushing their pussy
- 52:51flesh into each other and they're still like I need to get
- 52:54a phallic object. I'm.
- 52:58Like girl that was 10 chapters ago.
- 53:01You've lost your virginity a year ago at this point.
- 53:04It's very straight behavior. Yeah, it was.
- 53:06Because I feel like if you're in a lesbian relation to Bright,
- 53:09like just Gold Star lesbian have never had sex with a man.
- 53:12What if you don't care about penetration, ever?
- 53:14Does that mean you're not fucking a couple?
- 53:16Centrelink would say you still are.
- 53:19Centrelink's like you did Factor.
- 53:22Yeah, like, I mean, if Centrelink can recognize you,
- 53:27everyone else can deal with it. Not everyone needs to have
- 53:29penetrative sex. I feel real Centrelink has like
- 53:32an option. It was like de facto but pussy
- 53:34grinding. If it means taking more money
- 53:38off you for tax purposes, of course you're dating.
- 53:42You're not gonna call Centrelink and just be like with scissor
- 53:44only. Dude.
- 53:48I can't wait to be on hold for two hours.
- 53:50When I'm in a gay relationship, say that we're not.
- 53:54We're not. Using a dollar dillos, so it
- 53:58doesn't count. It just you're going to pay me.
- 54:01It doesn't count. You're going to pay me full
- 54:03rates because yeah, I get the full tax benefit.
- 54:07Yeah. It's like saying anal doesn't
- 54:09count when you're a super Christian.
- 54:12Anal is like, crazy. So.
- 54:13You get into the friction is still going, do you?
- 54:23They get. So many of them get pregnant
- 54:25from soaking alone, and you were telling me that's not it's not
- 54:30very good sex. What else isn't sex?
- 54:33It's funny because it's very straight centric, like how we've
- 54:36used sex in the mainstream. It's only P&V and anything else
- 54:40isn't real sex. But then people are so shook
- 54:43about people being gay. It's like, well, people, they're
- 54:45not having sex. They're actually having sex.
- 54:48So like, you you. Why are you thinking about them
- 54:52having sex when they don't? Actually, that's not real.
- 54:54It's not really. Gay sex isn't a thing.
- 54:56I don't know what you're doing. That's what I found annoying
- 55:00about this book. Clay would say.
- 55:01Little things here and there being like, oh, I can't wait
- 55:03till we actually have sex. I'm like, girl, you're getting
- 55:07more orgasms than you would if you had P&P Anyway, so like
- 55:10what? She wanted to smash that.
- 55:12Hymen into a billion pieces. She.
- 55:15And then why do we have to get the gross detail about her
- 55:17washing the blood off? Like, chill?
- 55:19No thanks. It wasn't for me, surely.
- 55:24I feel like a vibrator wouldn't break the hymen.
- 55:27I guess they didn't say how big it was.
- 55:29That was a huge, huge dildo. Huge.
- 55:33Yeah. Oh my God.
- 55:34So Callum is so bizarre. Like he switched to be the bad
- 55:37guy. But he was sometimes he was
- 55:40consent king. And then sometimes I was like,
- 55:42what? I don't understand.
- 55:44I don't understand. And he talks to Clay like he
- 55:47owns Clay. Yeah.
- 55:48And he's like, no, we can just do all of our own shit and then
- 55:51we're just going to get back together.
- 55:53She doesn't even like sitting next to you, bro.
- 55:54Like, she's so uncomfortable. She was talking to it.
- 55:57He's like, I know you're gay. I'm not going to tell you I'm
- 56:00also gay, but we can be gay and be each other's beards.
- 56:04But he was just that horrible about it, because if he was
- 56:07like, dude, I'm gay too, can we just.
- 56:10Write. And it didn't make any sense
- 56:12because they're 17. By the time they're old enough
- 56:14to quote, UN quote, be expected to be married, no one cares.
- 56:17They're at least going to be 25, right?
- 56:19It's modern day, so why would you wait that long to then get
- 56:24married? So you have more power on a more
- 56:26political from who's stopping you?
- 56:29Who says that's what you're going to do?
- 56:31But he he expected it. For why?
- 56:34Yeah, he's like, we'll we'll go to college and come back and
- 56:36build a fucking city. And it didn't.
- 56:38You're in the middle of fucking nowhere.
- 56:39No one gives a shit. And it didn't even need to be
- 56:42Clay. No, go find that beard at
- 56:45college. Go date Amy.
- 56:48Yeah, Amy was down. Yeah.
- 56:51Wait, was it Christian? No, it was Amy that caught him.
- 56:54Yeah, in the room when they'll dry humping on the desk.
- 56:58And she was such a bitch. So how much I make religious?
- 57:02She was like, it's only meant to be between a man and a woman.
- 57:05Nothing. She's like it's a sin.
- 57:07What? So down the track, I have to be
- 57:08your neighbors when you have your gross adopted baby?
- 57:11I was. Like.
- 57:12Whoa. Like, what if they don't even
- 57:16want kids, bro, She's going off. Yeah, who said she's going to be
- 57:20your neighbor, you crusty bitch. But since when you get to pick
- 57:24your neighbor. Because anyway, I hope she gets
- 57:26next to the gayest couple out down the track.
- 57:28Like a Big Bear gay couple? Yeah.
- 57:31Like hairy, gay. Obnoxiously gay?
- 57:34Yeah, No. I heard.
- 57:36That's who she has to live next to her just to rile her up with
- 57:39her weird little cult children. Here's the thing.
- 57:44When they're homophobic, That homophobic?
- 57:46Yeah. All they think about is gay
- 57:48people having sex. Yeah, that's literally it.
- 57:50Because when I think about gay people, I don't think about them
- 57:52having snow, just thinking about them as normal people.
- 57:56I'm like, Oh yeah, cool. I.
- 57:58Know. Good for that.
- 57:59Weird. Like why do you guys care so
- 58:01much? So the Yaga family, they kept
- 58:05bringing up the whole Everyone is our type when they're naked.
- 58:08Yeah, and it's embarrassing. And they were bringing it up
- 58:10like it was cool. And this is when they were like
- 58:12high fiving about doing tag teaming girls and stuff and I
- 58:16was like their family's a little deranged.
- 58:18I'm not going to lie, that slogan was so it's just so
- 58:21embarrassing. Like, just way to admit that
- 58:23you're spreading fucking herpes in the whole town or something.
- 58:26Like, I don't know. Just trying to understand her
- 58:28family. I use like a little gang because
- 58:32her older brother seemed to run. I They're trying to be gang.
- 58:36Sons of Anarchy, yeah. But I don't know, but on a kid
- 58:39level. Like a kid bop version.
- 58:44Oh, so they were over at Clay's house fucking like little wild
- 58:50animals. Yeah, yeah.
- 58:51And then no, that Harris came. Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry.
- 58:54Correction, they're not actually having sex.
- 58:57No, that is. Isn't that the day they had the
- 58:59vibrator? So it was real.
- 59:00It was at Olivia's house. They did it in the shower.
- 59:02My bad. OK, so then Clay's parents come
- 59:05home and they hear the argument like they overhear it.
- 59:08And they're, like, cuddled up, like, and Olivia's like
- 59:11comforting her in my shower. Yeah.
- 59:13I'd be out that window so fast. Yeah.
- 59:15I'm, I'm not here. I'm not here.
- 59:17I'd be like, slow you bitch. But anyway, and then the dad's
- 59:20like, oh, I've only got a girlfriend because that's the
- 59:23only way I can deal with hanging around until fucking Clay
- 59:27finishes school. Bro, you're not even around.
- 59:29Anyway, we've heard about you once.
- 59:32Yeah, and every time he's immediately at the house he's on
- 59:352 seconds later. I'm like, are you flying?
- 59:37I don't know how far Miami and Florida from each other.
- 59:40Are you driving back and forth for no reason?
- 59:42Flying back and forth for no reason.
- 59:44All he does is go to the debutante pool and then it's all
- 59:47good from there. All Gucci from there.
- 59:49How much do we care about Clay's parents' problems, though?
- 59:52As a reader, because I don't give a singular fuck, no.
- 59:56Also, Olivia's mom killed herself.
- 59:59Clay's brother got sick and died.
- 1:00:00So they both have their own trauma.
- 1:00:02Yeah, but do they talk it through?
- 1:00:04Probably. No do.
- 1:00:05They still have a. Bonding moment about it.
- 1:00:07No, no. Therapy is not real on books.
- 1:00:10It's funny how Olivia's mom had six kids and was like, I
- 1:00:13regretted having six. Don't have fucking one.
- 1:00:16What do you mean? I.
- 1:00:18Have one. Don't have 6.
- 1:00:20But did we know why she killed herself?
- 1:00:23She had really bad mental illness problems and her the dad
- 1:00:27died and then she took herself. The dad was the only one that
- 1:00:30could get her through. That's a lot of responsibility.
- 1:00:34So when clay. Hints that it's Olivia that's
- 1:00:38been sleeping over and stuff and then she just comes out with it
- 1:00:41and says I love Olivia. She was just a bit like, that's
- 1:00:44crazy. There was no even reaction from
- 1:00:47the dad. The mom's just like, oh, we
- 1:00:48already knew about it from when you were 12.
- 1:00:51And the dad's just at the debuton pool.
- 1:00:53Never brings up anything about their fucking issues.
- 1:00:56But also if you're a girl and you're 12 and you've got.
- 1:01:00Girls on the posters. That doesn't mean you're gay.
- 1:01:03No, the parents were like, we knew as soon as your friends had
- 1:01:07boy posters on the wall, we knew that you were gay.
- 1:01:09I love Selena Gomez. Yeah, So if you were 12 and you
- 1:01:13had a Selena Gomez poster on your wall, your parents aren't
- 1:01:15gonna look at that and go look, we're raising a lesbian.
- 1:01:18Yeah. So nobody even cared this whole
- 1:01:21time and Clay was like my family.
- 1:01:24They all knew. They're gonna be so shook.
- 1:01:26As when they find out I'm licking pussy and like saying
- 1:01:28none of them care. All.
- 1:01:30They're. Like go him as long as you're
- 1:01:33not pregnant. Actually, that's one of the big
- 1:01:36problems with the book. They diminish relationship and
- 1:01:39sex somehow. The book was so full of sex, but
- 1:01:42everyone diminished sex. The boys just didn't care
- 1:01:45because they're like, yeah, she's not getting pregnant.
- 1:01:46It's not real. Yeah, same with her mom.
- 1:01:48You're not getting pregnant. It's not real.
- 1:01:50Yeah. So this is where they kind of
- 1:01:51break up. They were just talking and
- 1:01:53hanging out normal, having sex, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:01:56And then they were talking about prom and.
- 1:01:57Then Olivia was pretty much like you can't not come out
- 1:02:00immediately. That's why I don't.
- 1:02:03Get go past. Because I want you to.
- 1:02:05How are you so supportive? And then you just immediately
- 1:02:08want her out when she hasn't even come to terms?
- 1:02:11Yeah. And she's like, I just decided I
- 1:02:12love you. So you have to pretend like
- 1:02:15we're going to be together forever.
- 1:02:16I mean, what? Yeah, I feel like they thought
- 1:02:18that this debut was going to be like the talk of the whole
- 1:02:22school and no one gave a fuck. Everyone was like Schmir.
- 1:02:26Both of them must be so Delulu. Delulu.
- 1:02:29Because they both thought that everyone's going to be like, all
- 1:02:31eyes on us. Oh, we're so unique because I'm
- 1:02:33wearing a tux. Yeah, bro, you're not even
- 1:02:36having sex. There's a couple of virgins out
- 1:02:40here. Just a couple.
- 1:02:43Of Dikey Virgins P dog. What's going on in the plot
- 1:02:46here? Shouldn't someone be a bit more
- 1:02:47sugar than your distant grandma's rage in the corner?
- 1:02:50Oh my God, nobody cares. And Grandma's only mad because
- 1:02:53she had to keep her shit a secret.
- 1:02:56Grandma's like I wanted to pave the streets in Rainbow.
- 1:03:00It was the biggest let down. Of any book we've read recently
- 1:03:04and it just never ended because they broke up for no reason.
- 1:03:07I think internally they were always sliding down walls,
- 1:03:11crying, and nobody else around cared.
- 1:03:13No, I'm like Megan was out here. Like here we go again.
- 1:03:18Megan. Got dragged into this For what?
- 1:03:20Like why did they pay her? The poor girl got fucking
- 1:03:24rubbish dumped on her for no fucking reason.
- 1:03:27But didn't the boys? Grab her.
- 1:03:30And, like, set her up to think that Olivia wanted to hook up
- 1:03:33with her. I'm not even sure.
- 1:03:35Because they. Remember.
- 1:03:36How they taped like after the debutante ball, That's when they
- 1:03:39kidno, it was just a random girl, but they said it was
- 1:03:43Megan. Her name was Megan no wasn't.
- 1:03:46She didn't know who she was. But it she also happened to have
- 1:03:49the name Megan. Oh, really?
- 1:03:50Yeah, yeah. Why are they picking all the
- 1:03:53name? Hang on, please.
- 1:03:54Look it up. I'm so confused.
- 1:03:56That whole chapter was a blur, I'm not going to lie.
- 1:03:59Morgan. Oh, no wonder.
- 1:04:02So close. Fuck, because Morgan and Megan,
- 1:04:05she's back. She's very.
- 1:04:07She's on Red Wonder. No.
- 1:04:09It's like this poor girl keeps getting so screwed over because
- 1:04:13they knew. I thought that they did that on
- 1:04:15purpose because they knew that Megan liked Olivia.
- 1:04:17Yeah, and they set her up being like, oh, Olivia wants to hook
- 1:04:20up again or whatever. No, they I think they're paying
- 1:04:23this girl to have sex with Olivia.
- 1:04:25And because she thought she was willing, and then she got kicked
- 1:04:28in the gut by Olivia. And what kind of fucking job
- 1:04:32would that be? If you get message like, oh,
- 1:04:35hey, want you to hook up with this, I guess this other sex
- 1:04:37worker, I could just be a sex worker, I suppose.
- 1:04:40Probably one on a higher payroll.
- 1:04:42I don't think she deserved to get kicked in the gut, though,
- 1:04:45because she. Was paid to be there, so she
- 1:04:48probably just assumed this other girl was paid to be there.
- 1:04:50Exactly the. Bit that took.
- 1:04:53Me out, Right, So we got a bit of head vessels, so they're
- 1:04:56leaving the ball. They're trying to fucking rip
- 1:04:58each other's clothes off because they're always so fucking horny,
- 1:05:01right? Yeah, so Olivia's got no pants
- 1:05:03on. She's got her undies and a
- 1:05:05corset, you know, trying to hook into each other.
- 1:05:08How did the driver? Just not fucking swerve around
- 1:05:10these boys on the road. Just be like, oh detour, Four
- 1:05:14guys on the street are going to approach your car and as a
- 1:05:17driver, you're just. Going to let them open the.
- 1:05:19Keep their doors locked. That's what I mean.
- 1:05:21Like you're just. Going to let Also, I want to
- 1:05:24know how they thought they were getting out of the limo naked.
- 1:05:27Yeah, that was stripping. And they were the horniest
- 1:05:30teenage girls I've ever read about.
- 1:05:31Yeah, they just rushed the car. They pull Olivia out.
- 1:05:35Yeah. And then Clay goes.
- 1:05:37Nah, I'm not going. To call the police because
- 1:05:40police are hopeless. I'm just going to call her
- 1:05:43brothers. Yup.
- 1:05:44And then she looks up the lawn mowing company because they
- 1:05:47don't give a fuck about her. You gotta just call Kristen.
- 1:05:51She was being called the police as well.
- 1:05:53Yeah, it's kind of their job, yeah.
- 1:05:56And then Olivia's like. Yeah, just.
- 1:05:58Fuck me then, Yeah, to. The boys like, that's going to
- 1:06:01work. Like, it's kind of dear.
- 1:06:03Yeah, it worked. But I think it was because she
- 1:06:05seemed so deranged and they were probably like here for the her
- 1:06:09not being into it. And she's like, this is nothing.
- 1:06:11My brothers do this to me every day pretty much, yeah.
- 1:06:13And. I was like.
- 1:06:14Fucking they would terrorize the shit out of me.
- 1:06:17Five of you at home anyway. They're all trying to write me.
- 1:06:20No, this is. How she met, that's.
- 1:06:22What it sounds? Like though she meant.
- 1:06:25Because they at this point, they were just terrorizing Emily,
- 1:06:27slapping her. Emily, this is P Dog.
- 1:06:30True. Penelope loves the good in
- 1:06:31sexual relation. I think she's like gaslighting
- 1:06:38her readers into slowly getting to the book she wants to write.
- 1:06:41Oh. My God, sorry.
- 1:06:44That's so ominous. Don't do that.
- 1:06:47I'm scared. And then fucking Clay comes in
- 1:06:50clutch, cutting people's faces and shit.
- 1:06:52But it's my nose. Like Clay is the badass now.
- 1:06:56Like I'm just like, stop. Yeah, literally.
- 1:07:00And she goes. If anyone asks, tell them you
- 1:07:02cut yourself during shaving. And just like.
- 1:07:04Cutting all over his face like. What?
- 1:07:08Somehow he's a fucking. Temple to like she.
- 1:07:11His whole face is like flapping in the bruise and he's like,
- 1:07:13it's OK, Mom, I just. I didn't while I was shaving.
- 1:07:18It's like. Full emergency room.
- 1:07:19Fucking put my face back on. They're like, how the fuck did
- 1:07:22this happen? I'm just not a hair insight.
- 1:07:25It's like I'm just. Like, you know his hair all over
- 1:07:28the temple that they're fucking trying to so bad he's never even
- 1:07:32grown like a beard. Yeah, it was so bad.
- 1:07:35I was disturbed by then. I was like Clay.
- 1:07:38Yeah, I was here for it. I'm like finally some substance.
- 1:07:43But like, what is this book trying to be?
- 1:07:46Lisa. Worked us into it.
- 1:07:48Because you know, sometimes you read the mafia book and out of
- 1:07:51nowhere the quiet, shy girls like standing people like front
- 1:07:54and. Centre and.
- 1:07:55They're like the equivalent of that after a lot of finger
- 1:07:57blasting and doll into dildos. I'm just like Okie.
- 1:08:02This was when they tried to do Kids Mafia, the Whiplash.
- 1:08:05From the scissoring to the slicing, to not even sex to the
- 1:08:09cunning people's faces. I feel like there.
- 1:08:12Should be a genre in these kind of books where they try and
- 1:08:14write teenagers to be in Teen Mafia and it should be called
- 1:08:17Kids Bop Mafia. Because that's what it ends up
- 1:08:21being. And it's always they're filming
- 1:08:23sex and they're posting it. There's never police.
- 1:08:27When are they gonna get into real adult trouble?
- 1:08:30The best part about this is knowing that everyone listening
- 1:08:32to the podcast right now is probably like Carla needs to
- 1:08:34read Devil Nights Devil Night because they're probably send
- 1:08:38her into a fucking. I.
- 1:08:41Feel like you just grabbed a whole other series.
- 1:08:44Oh really? Yeah.
- 1:08:44But like, where are the parents? They just throw these.
- 1:08:47Blues, they're. Just around.
- 1:08:49They've conveniently got all of their own problems to deal with.
- 1:08:52They're just never. My parents are always fucking
- 1:08:55home. They never.
- 1:08:56That's what I mean. Like in real life, you're 1617.
- 1:08:59Your parents are not only home, They're like at the edge of your
- 1:09:02bedroom door being like, what are you doing?
- 1:09:04They're like, I'll take the fucking door down.
- 1:09:07The way that you can let me out. Chat snaps or what?
- 1:09:14They're like. Don't the tic.
- 1:09:18To like. You better not be downloading
- 1:09:20strangers on there. Like that's literally.
- 1:09:23What it is they're like looking at your life 360 and you're in
- 1:09:27the room. Next door, you're just like.
- 1:09:31Let me live. That's.
- 1:09:34What it's really like to be 17, we need a book like that.
- 1:09:37Where the parents just breathing.
- 1:09:39Down their neck, the entire book.
- 1:09:42And instead of accepting their gayness, they're just like.
- 1:09:45That sort of thing. That's not real.
- 1:09:48That's not real. What am I?
- 1:09:50Supposed to just there's no penetration.
- 1:09:53Look, legitimately that I say this with my full chest.
- 1:09:57There are people, adults out there that don't think that.
- 1:10:01Sex is sex. If there's no penetration, there
- 1:10:04are full ask. People that think that, yeah,
- 1:10:06that's that's full ask. People believe a lot of things.
- 1:10:12Literally. No.
- 1:10:15Crazy. I could list it on my hand of
- 1:10:17what they believe in it all. It all coincides and goes hand
- 1:10:20in hand together, but even the driver himself wanted to call
- 1:10:25the police and she's just like, Nah, he's probably like what?
- 1:10:28Do you mean? Bitch.
- 1:10:29He's like, I'm getting hijacked too, you bitch.
- 1:10:32He's like, am I responsible for this kidnapping?
- 1:10:35Literally though, wouldn't you? As the driver because you're an
- 1:10:39adult, be really worried. The parent can practically like
- 1:10:42sue you. Oh my God, yes.
- 1:10:43Something happened to this kid because you didn't call the
- 1:10:45emergency service. Yes.
- 1:10:47Yeah. Olivia gets out of that
- 1:10:49situation, obviously. Clay is just cutting people's
- 1:10:52faces. And then that's just the fucking
- 1:10:54end Dillon was like. Thank fuck for.
- 1:10:57That after all of that, Callum's just sitting at Lounge.
- 1:11:00She's like, fuck yeah, loving the show, loving the show, babe,
- 1:11:03loving you. Cutting up my mate.
- 1:11:05Yeah. For me doing the same thing.
- 1:11:06He loves it. And then Dallas is like punching
- 1:11:10him and shit. And then Dallas takes him into
- 1:11:13another room and fights him, while the rest just wait around
- 1:11:16and like. Fights.
- 1:11:18That's where I got OK. I thought it was very convenient
- 1:11:21that they had a fight scene, right, that we didn't get to
- 1:11:25read or see. And then the next page it was
- 1:11:28like, Oh yeah, Dallas and Callum had a thing last summer.
- 1:11:31I'm like, is there more tension? A lot of this stuff we didn't
- 1:11:35need to know. Why?
- 1:11:36Is it like OK? Why is the go to problem for the
- 1:11:39men in the book? To be sexual assault, as in the
- 1:11:42go to thing that they want to do?
- 1:11:44Yeah, by their motivation, Yeah. They're like, I'm going to ruin
- 1:11:46this girl's life. Sexual assault.
- 1:11:49Couldn't it just be like, I'm going to ruin this girl's life
- 1:11:52by burning a house down? I don't know.
- 1:11:55Anything else? Well, like.
- 1:11:56Which one's better? Which one?
- 1:11:59I'm violating her. Yeah.
- 1:12:00Why? Why is it violating?
- 1:12:01Why does it have to be that violation?
- 1:12:03Why couldn't it be like I'm going to get it kicked out of
- 1:12:05the theater and kicked out of Dartmouth?
- 1:12:08That would make more sense. Clay's the actual bad guy at the
- 1:12:11start. Yeah, she's a terrible person
- 1:12:14and the only reason why she had character development is cuz
- 1:12:17she's allowed to be gay. Yeah, but no one else is.
- 1:12:20Because if she was. Straight throughout this whole
- 1:12:22thing. Do you think she's gonna let up
- 1:12:24on bullying Olivia? The only reason she did a turn
- 1:12:27around is cuz she's like. Now I know what it's like that
- 1:12:29everyone treats me like shit because I'm gay.
- 1:12:31Because my grandma might disown me.
- 1:12:33And that's the only reason she started being nice to Olivia and
- 1:12:36feeling bad. Yeah, because if she didn't turn
- 1:12:37gay that whole time, she would just being fucking Callum.
- 1:12:41And still being a cunt, Yeah, it's not realistic that they
- 1:12:44were together four years later. If Olivia went to uni, there's
- 1:12:47no way they would have been able to maintain that kind of
- 1:12:50relationship because they needed sex and they never had a
- 1:12:52conversation in the entire book. And then just calling each
- 1:12:55other, being like, I love you, I love you, That wouldn't be
- 1:12:57enough. One of them would have cheated
- 1:12:59instantaneously. Like straight away.
- 1:13:01Yeah, because it's so insecure and they would have thought each
- 1:13:04other were cheating. But I'm just shocked.
- 1:13:06Shook us. Shocked.
- 1:13:08That they'd still be together, Yeah.
- 1:13:10She was the person who took your virginity, or does she still
- 1:13:15have it? Oh yes, later.
- 1:13:19They never know. They never decide.
- 1:13:21It was Olivia that proposed. Hey, no, it was Clay.
- 1:13:26OK. But Olivia was going.
- 1:13:29Two as well. But.
- 1:13:31Who puts the ring on before you even get an answer?
- 1:13:34Possessive bitches. It's like slipped the ring on
- 1:13:36before anything Penelope Douglas does.
- 1:13:39Well, it's possessive. Geez.
- 1:13:42And it's funny because they had bought the lighthouse together
- 1:13:45and they're gonna renovate it and live in it, right?
- 1:13:47As a house? Yeah.
- 1:13:49It's boring at this point. It was always like Clay was
- 1:13:51trying to make it scandalous, like I have to talk to Megan
- 1:13:54about for. Yeah.
- 1:13:55It's four years, lady. Everyone's accepted it.
- 1:13:58Yeah, you're living together in a fucking lighthouse.
- 1:14:00Nobody cares at this point. Megan's like, just fucking leave
- 1:14:03me alone. He's.
- 1:14:05Getting. Out of my house.
- 1:14:06Shit. He's like, I don't even care.
- 1:14:08He's like, I just wanted to do me, but I've been stuck with
- 1:14:11these fucking kids. So literally.
- 1:14:14I just took. Like 20 years and this poor man
- 1:14:17hasn't even had a fucking break. So what are we writing this out
- 1:14:21of? I don't know.
- 1:14:24I don't know. Detachable shower heads.
- 1:14:28Just detachable showers. That's all I can.
- 1:14:30Think of right now. I don't know.
- 1:14:32It just wasn't for me. Maybe I'm not a bully romancer.
- 1:14:35I'm giving it two detachable shower heads out of five and I
- 1:14:38feel like that's been generous. Yeah, two same.
- 1:14:40I need more plot. Like, what is going on?
- 1:14:43It was just the same plot. Over and over again.
- 1:14:46Like it would restart. You'd get 200 pages of loop.
- 1:14:49It was a loop though, because you'd get like them bullying
- 1:14:52each other. They're finally getting together
- 1:14:54and then it'd be like pause, start again.
- 1:14:56It was just fucking Groundhog Day over and over and changing.
- 1:14:59Like, the timelines were very, yeah.
- 1:15:03Like, I just felt like all this happened in a week.
- 1:15:04But all this happened in 10 years at the same time, in terms
- 1:15:08of it could have been entertaining, yeah.
- 1:15:12If it was shorter, cuz I did get to a point where I'm like, I'm
- 1:15:15just rereading, I'm just, we're just rereading the same thing,
- 1:15:19yeah, and there is only so many times you can be finger blasted.
- 1:15:22Yeah, in one book. Is that it?
- 1:15:27Is that it? Yeah.
- 1:15:29Oh my God. So that's it?
