Gold and silver is actually technically better than holding
• 0:04
bonds because they typically, especially gold, go up with
• 0:08
inflation over time. So the depository is the big
• 0:13
enchilada. That's the elephant and lots of
• 0:16
state. Today we're joined by Pat
• 0:21
Holland from the Missouri Freedom Initiative.
• 0:24
He's helping to back and further legal tender legislation in the
• 0:28
state of Missouri which would allow Missouri residents to use
• 0:32
gold and silver as legal tender, just like our founding bothers
• 0:36
outlined in the United States Constitution.
• 0:39
Pat, welcome to Ron's Basement. Hey, Ron, Thank you so much for
• 0:42
having me back. Red shirt Solidarity, 5:00
• 0:45
  Shadows. Gold and silver.
• 0:48
That's right. Gold and silver, it's it's the
• 0:50
Ron's basement fan club over here.
• 0:52
So it's, it's very, very nice to be with you again.
• 0:55
Thank you. Well, on on behalf of all the
• 0:57
basement dwellers, it's always an honor to have you here.
• 1:00
And why is it so important to people joining us right now,
• 1:05
that person joining us right now, that they live in a state
• 1:09
that has a gold and silver legal tender legislation?
• 1:13
  You bet. There's several.
• 1:14
OK, By the way, the Constitution allows for us to do this right
• 1:18
now. I get hit with that all the
• 1:19
time. Hey, we don't need a bill.
• 1:22
We can do that right now. Yes, we can.
• 1:24
You and I, Ron, can exchange gold and silver all day long,
• 1:28
You know, basically between us. But businesses are less likely
• 1:33
to take it if two circumstances aren't actually approached
• 1:37
properly. Number one, legal tender status
• 1:40
in the state. Gold and silver is not legal
• 1:43
tender in most states. There are I believe five states
• 1:46
right now that actually have it and I'll, I'll even name them.
• 1:50
We'll start with with Utah because they got it done.
• 1:52
First we have Oklahoma, Arizona, Tex.
• 1:58
Is it Texas? No, no, no, Arkansas.
• 2:01
And one more state that I'm missing right now.
• 2:03
  Kansas. Nope.
• 2:05
I don't think they have legal tender If no, Arkansas was the
• 2:10
only one that got it done in 2023, but there are five states.
• 2:13
  Technically, Arizona is typically missed.
• 2:16
They do have it though. They have it written
• 2:18
  differently. So legal tender status.
• 2:21
In other words, the state recognizes that gold and silver
• 2:25
are quote, UN quote transactable money.
• 2:28
OK. That's what you get with legal
• 2:29
status or I'm sorry, legal tender status Part 2.
• 2:33
And also important, if the state is accepting gold and silver for
• 2:39
payment of taxes. Now this does not mean that you
• 2:41
and I will do this, Ron, but they will accept gold and silver
• 2:44
along with a dollar along with whatever else for payment of
• 2:48
taxes. Businesses will be much more
• 2:52
likely to transact in gold and silver if they can pay taxes on
• 2:56
it if they need to, if they want to.
• 2:59
And so those are the two things that are really necessary.
• 3:03
But the really big enchilada, the elephant in the room, Ron,
• 3:07
that everyone, everyone wants, every state wants is a
• 3:10
depository. Now the depository is critical
• 3:14
for so many different reasons #1.
• 3:17
Every state has a pension fund and and that is usually handled
• 3:21
by the treasurer of the state. Well, if we're hyper inflating
• 3:25
and they're holding on to bonds as is their reserves in these
• 3:28
pension funds, they are losing out to inflation as they have
• 3:32
been for the last three years where the bonds are paying, you
• 3:36
know, typically 2.4% that most states are holding inflation's
• 3:40
been over 10%. This does not bode well for
• 3:44
pension funds. So yes, the people, the
• 3:48
pensioners will get the same amount of money they were
• 3:50
promised, but it's worth less. So and then also they'll pay out
• 3:55
more, you know basically under those circumstances as well.
• 3:58
If you have a depository in your state that is linked to your
• 4:02
state government, you're basically starting to compete
• 4:05
with the Federal Reserve by having reserves in your state
• 4:09
that go above and beyond. You know basically any assets
• 4:12
that are directly linked to the value of the dollar, no gold and
• 4:17
silver technically are linked to the value of the dollar.
• 4:19
We we value them in dollars always, but the fact is they
• 4:24
typically go up you know over time where the value of the
• 4:28
dollar typically goes down. So this is hedging.
• 4:33
If you have a four O 1K, Ron, your guy who is running your
• 4:37
4O1K for you is probably going to recommend some gold or silver
• 4:40
stocks to go into that four O 1K or equally.
• 4:43
If you have an IRA, they'll probably recommend some physical
• 4:47
and what you can do with an IRA, this is hedging your investment.
• 4:52
People typically do that with bonds because they're safe.
• 4:55
They always, always produce an interest rate, always.
• 5:01
Gold and silver is actually technically better than holding
• 5:05
bonds because they typically, especially gold, go up with
• 5:09
inflation over time. So the depository is the big
• 5:14
  enchilada. That's the elephant.
• 5:16
And lots of states. By the way, I want to give a
• 5:18
shout out to our friends with Citizens for Sound Money right
• 5:22
now. I know of three states that
• 5:24
they're working with to get depositories in Florida, New
• 5:27
Hampshire, Texas, and I'm not sure of any others, but right
• 5:31
now they're working with those states to try and get
• 5:33
  depositories for silver and gold.
• 5:35
If you're looking to buy gold, silver, or platinum, do yourself
• 5:39
a favor and check out Pimbex, the online precious metals
• 5:42
bullion dealer and sponsor of Ron's Basement.
• 5:46
I was a happy customer before they offered to support the
• 5:49
channel. You'll find they have the best
• 5:52
prices, quality, and service. I think Pimbex is best, and you
• 5:57
will too. And be sure to tell him that
• 5:59
you're from Ron's basement. We in Missouri and you and I are
• 6:03
both in Missouri. We have a treasurer right now.
• 6:06
His name is Malik Vivek. Malik, I think that's how you
• 6:10
pronounce his name and he is not.
• 6:12
He's got cold feet over gold and silver.
• 6:14
So we're not really pushing real hard in the state of Missouri
• 6:17
right now for a depository, but we are pushing legislation right
• 6:22
now because we could not get it across the finish line in 2023.
• 6:26
And I know I'm long winded on this, but let me say this one
• 6:28
more time for your audience. We got right to the finish line
• 6:32
for gold and silver legal tender legislation in 2023.
• 6:36
He was the speaker of the House, a man by the name of Dean
• 6:39
Plocker that actually prevented a vote from coming through,
• 6:44
basically the floor leader, Jonathan Patterson.
• 6:47
So we got, we got all the way up to the finish line.
• 6:50
All they had to do is vote on it.
• 6:52
They already had it on the floor for an hour and 15 minutes or
• 6:54
something. So they were talking about it.
• 6:57
They were, you know, but they just took it away, you know,
• 7:00
just pulled the rug out from under, you know, the Gold and
• 7:02
Silver folks. And that's a lot of folks in
• 7:04
Missouri. This year, we're having problems
• 7:07
again with Dean Blocker. Dean Blocker, a one man who was
• 7:12
elected, you know, the House Speaker internally with the
• 7:14
House, what they call the caucus is once again slowing down the
• 7:18
process of Silver and Gold by literally not assigning it to
• 7:22
committee. So we'll talk a little bit more
• 7:25
about that one man holding it back for the state of Missouri.
• 7:28
I mean people should be aware of that, particularly since this
• 7:30
one man wants to be, everyone wants to be our Lieutenant
• 7:33
governor, you know, in the November elections in 2024.
• 7:37
You know he, he, he apparently he really doesn't want silver
• 7:40
and gold as legal tender, even though the Constitution of the
• 7:44
United States, which he swore an oath to defend and protect.
• 7:48
He doesn't want to make silver and gold money.
• 7:50
Shame on him. Does does anyone understand why
• 7:55
he's, you know, putting up this apparent opposition opposition
• 8:00
to the legislation? Well, he's a politician, so it's
• 8:03
likely we'll never get the truth out of him.
• 8:05
But I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that I said that jokingly,
• 8:09
said that jokingly, Dean. But it's probably more or less
• 8:14
because he knows it's popular and a lot of his political
• 8:18
rivals are very much for the bill and want it to get through.
• 8:22
And maybe he doesn't want them to have a win.
• 8:25
It could. It could be literally that
• 8:27
simple, and in fact it most likely is that simple.
• 8:31
What What's your sense when you talk to average Missouri
• 8:35
residents? Are they in favor of this
• 8:38
legislation? By far large, the only ones that
• 8:42
aren't are the ones that are confused and saying, well, you
• 8:45
know, hanging around, you know, the store holding on to a bunch
• 8:48
of silver and gold coins, it's kind of dangerous and
• 8:51
  everything. I I keep telling them there's
• 8:52
all kinds of ways to transact in gold and silver.
• 8:54
And in fact, I actually went to a House hearing last week and
• 8:58
that was for, sorry, Senator Eagle's bill.
• 9:02
That would be ASB 735, which is nearly an identical copy of
• 9:07
Bills Bill or Hardwicks. I'm getting people confused.
• 9:11
We have two bills running the same bill.
• 9:15
So we have Bill Eagle in the Senate and Bill Hardwick in the
• 9:20
House, and they're both running the same silver and gold bill.
• 9:22
So that can get confusing real quick.
• 9:24
  Yeah, a lot. A lot.
• 9:25
  Of bills. I'm, I'm, I'm.
• 9:26
But thank you for explaining. That makes sense now.
• 9:29
But yeah, too many bills. Yep.
• 9:32
So I I testified. And unfortunately they don't
• 9:35
have an archive with the Senate, so people can't go back and
• 9:38
listen to it. But the fact of the matter is, I
• 9:41
was just explaining the different ways you can transact
• 9:43
in gold and silver. I was actually showing them
• 9:45
advice that, you know, I don't have it with me right now, but
• 9:49
you can hold it in your hand that will actually determine the
• 9:51
purity of gold and silver coins and bars.
• 9:54
And you know, so it's that simple.
• 9:56
You set one of those up at a register along with, you know,
• 9:58
a, you know, a tiny digital scale is all you need.
• 10:02
And boom, you can actually determine the purity and the
• 10:04
weight right at a, you know at a if someone wants to use it at
• 10:08
you know a hardware store or whatever.
• 10:12
So but the fact is people by far and large are are so removed
• 10:18
from gold and silver for transaction because we've had
• 10:21
many generations in between when it was normally used for
• 10:25
transaction. That's not true with silver.
• 10:26
But people didn't think of it that way because it was in our
• 10:28
change. I mean it's yeah, we've had two
• 10:32
generations. 1964 is when Johnson took us off the silver
• 10:35
  standard. People keep forgetting about
• 10:37
that. That's when silver was no longer
• 10:39
put into US currency change, which is actually done by the
• 10:43
Treasury. That's not a Federal Reserve
• 10:45
operation, by the way. And and then in 1971 off the
• 10:49
gold standard. It's important for people,
• 10:51
people to truly, truly understand those actions were
• 10:55
technically illegal. They didn't go through Congress,
• 10:59
they didn't amend the Constitution to take away gold
• 11:02
and silver. They did it by executive Fiat,
• 11:04
executive order, both of them. So, so at any rate, but the
• 11:10
Federal Reserve you know basically fills in all the gaps,
• 11:13
you know when they do that sort of thing.
• 11:15
Their product became the only thing left we could transact in,
• 11:18
right. They didn't own silver and gold.
• 11:21
Silver and gold is no nation's money, it's everybody's.
• 11:27
So at any rate the, and I'm sorry it took a long, you know,
• 11:31
tangent off of this, but it's very, very, very important that
• 11:35
people really truly understand that it's just as easy to
• 11:38
transact in gold and silver that it is with any version of the
• 11:41
dollar that you have right now all the way down to your ATM
• 11:44
card. You can do that with gold and
• 11:45
  silver. Too.
• 11:46
Yep, Yep. And there's more and more very
• 11:49
transparent, regulated. Audited functional ways to use
• 11:57
silver and gold that are coming onto the market every single
• 12:01
day. If if somebody wants to help
• 12:03
support the cause, pat, what? What can they do 'cause I know
• 12:07
grassroots support is critical to this type of.
• 12:10
List and and we're a total grassroots group.
• 12:13
We don't have any corporate backers, we don't have
• 12:16
donations. So basically it's just people
• 12:20
power your own time, Your own. Done.
• 12:22
But thank you for asking because I want to talk about Dean
• 12:25
Plocker for a little bit. Dean Plocker and for those of
• 12:28
you who are not in Missouri, you probably won't know what I'm
• 12:30
talking about. But he's the Speaker of the
• 12:32
House in the state of Missouri. And if Ron is so kind that we'll
• 12:36
have a direct link down below to where you can find Dean Plocker.
• 12:40
But I'm asking for folks to call his office and e-mail him,
• 12:45
asking him why he is not giving HB1955, House Bill 1955 a home
• 12:55
in a committee. Lots and lots of bills are
• 12:58
  getting referred to committee now.
• 12:59
Nothing's as popular right now as the HB 1955 in the House.
• 13:04
There's more phone calls and emails coming in on that than
• 13:07
any other bill. We already talked about why we
• 13:09
think, you know, he's not letting it go through, but he's
• 13:12
scandal ridden. He said four major scandals
• 13:16
since September and so he's politically damaged right now
• 13:20
and you would think he'd be a little bit nicer under those
• 13:22
  circumstances, but apparently not so.
• 13:26
But then again, you know it is Dean Blocker.
• 13:28
So I'm asking for people to e-mail him Dean Period Blocker
• 13:33
PLOCHER at house.mo.gov And once again, this will be right down
• 13:40
  below in the description section.
• 13:41
If Ron is so kind and his phone number is in, this is to his
• 13:45
office, 573, 751-1544. And what we're asking for very
• 13:52
specifically is to put HB 1955 into committee.
• 13:58
It's time to move that bill to committee.
• 14:01
And in fact, a great committee for it would be downsizing
• 14:04
government. Yes, we do actually have a
• 14:05
committee for downsizing government in the House.
• 14:08
We have one in the Senate, too, Fortuna.
• 14:09
Silver Mines is a global intermediate gold and silver
• 14:13
producer. Since 2005, Fortuna's best in
• 14:17
class management has delivered impressive growth and profits.
• 14:21
Fortuna's solid financial position and operational
• 14:25
expertise allows for performance in any precious metals price
• 14:29
cycle and provides a foundation from which to harvest great
• 14:33
profits in more favorable metals markets.
• 14:37
Investing in Fortuna is an investment in quality, long
• 14:41
term, sustainable production of in demand precious and base
• 14:45
metals. We're asking Mr. Plocker to do
• 14:49
is just take whatever steps he he controls whatever steps
• 14:54
necessary to help just forward this legislation so that it's
• 14:58
considered and still and still and and and put up for a vote.
• 15:04
  Is that accurate? OK.
• 15:05
Yeah. Well, it's actually it'd be
• 15:07
  going through several voting processes.
• 15:09
You know basically the the first part you know is pre filing of a
• 15:13
bill and you know we know about that process.
• 15:15
You know we've talked about that.
• 15:17
So it gets pre filed and then when the session starts in this
• 15:20
case in 2024, it's January 3rd and then bill start getting
• 15:24
referred to committee that is the speaker's role.
• 15:27
The speaker has all the power and it shouldn't be this way,
• 15:31
but this is the way it is has all the power to assign that
• 15:34
bill to a committee. No one else can do it.
• 15:36
Just the speaker of the House, that's Dean Blocker.
• 15:39
And then once it gets into a committee, basically you have a
• 15:42
public hearing for a committee in which you know civilians like
• 15:45
you and me, can I say civilians? That's not the right word.
• 15:48
But you know, non politicians and it can actually come in and
• 15:52
testify for or against or do an informational testimony for a
• 15:57
bill. And then a week after that, they
• 16:00
typically have what's called an executive session in which the
• 16:04
committee votes on whether or not to pass the bill out of
• 16:07
committee and it goes from there to a Rules Committee and they
• 16:10
vote on it there. They don't have public hearings
• 16:12
  there either. And then they.
• 16:15
And then once it gets out of Rules Committee, then it goes on
• 16:18
to a calendar and then someone else has control finally, and
• 16:22
that's the floor leader. The floor leader can take it
• 16:25
from the calendar to the floor for debate and perfection in a
• 16:28
vote. So that's the process that bills
• 16:31
go through in the House. Slightly different than Senate,
• 16:34
but it's it's close enough. And this is what Dean Plocker is
• 16:38
slowing down. I mean, he killed the bill last
• 16:40
year on the 2nd to the last day of the legislative session.
• 16:44
He killed gold and silver and now he's just dragging his feet
• 16:48
on, even letting it go into committee.
• 16:50
One man is making this decision for 6,000,000 Missourians.
• 16:55
One man. So we should be giving him some
• 16:58
calls and sending him some emails.
• 17:00
And by the way, we need to be nice.
• 17:02
Being nasty isn't going to get us anywhere.
• 17:04
Trust me, I know how these people operate up in Jeff City.
• 17:08
So please do help us participate in the process by getting Dean
• 17:12
Plocker, putting him on notice that the people of Missouri are
• 17:15
we understand his game and we simply don't accept it.
• 17:19
Put it in committee right now, please, There's no reason not
• 17:22
to. And it has more Co sponsors than
• 17:24
any other bill. In other words, it's getting
• 17:26
more attention than any other bill in the House this year so
• 17:30
far. And and of course it just lays
• 17:33
dormant, you know in the pre filed status, you know it never
• 17:36
got assigned. Well, you know, Pat, on behalf
• 17:40
of myself, I'm a resident of Missouri and the other residents
• 17:44
of Missouri and even people across the country.
• 17:48
You know, thank you for all of your work that you put in to
• 17:51
help further this legislation. I think it's important, and I
• 17:55
know you communicated this, but to the people that are watching,
• 17:58
realize whether you're in Missouri or another state,
• 18:02
grassroots movements, grassroots supports makes a big difference.
• 18:06
So you know, reach out. I will put the link below.
• 18:11
And if people want to learn more about Pat Holland, they can go
• 18:15
to the Missouri, MO, free.org Missouri Freedom Initiative.
• 18:19
  That's right. Mofree.org And also, if you're
• 18:22
in Missouri, I request that you get on the e-mail list.
• 18:24
Those who are on the list know how critically important it is
• 18:28
during the legislative session. It's not as important in the
• 18:31
offseason, but during the legislative session, this is how
• 18:35
we get out quick information very quickly to everyone in the
• 18:38
Missouri Freedom initiative. So if you're in Missouri and if
• 18:42
you want to help us with silver and gold, please get on our
• 18:46
e-mail list and that's right on our website, just on the right
• 18:48
hand side of the landing page. But please do consider getting
• 18:51
on the e-mail list so you can help us with gold and silver
• 18:54
legislation in 2024 and hopefully finally get this done.
• 18:59
But like I said, one man who has a lot of power, you know, keeps
• 19:03
stopping the process. And and he did it last year.

We can't let him do it again this year.
• 19:07
We need to overpower him with lots and, you know, thousands of
• 19:10
phone calls and emails coming into his office letting him know
• 19:14
the people of Missouri know what he's doing.
• 19:17
You know, you know, I know what you did last summer and and we
• 19:21
do know what he did last summer because all those exposes came
• 19:24
out on Dean Blocker. People can feel free to look
• 19:26
that up if you want to know the scandals he's been involved in.
• 19:29
I'm not going to talk about it on Ron's show, but for scandals
• 19:32
so far, for scandals. And you'd think he would be
• 19:35
humble. And if and if you want to
• 19:38
support the the legal tender legislation, again go to
• 19:43
mofree.org, sign up for the e-mail list.
• 19:46
I imagine you put out some calls to action, different things
• 19:49
people can do to help support PAT.
• 19:52
As always on behalf of myself, our viewer, the residents of
• 19:57
Missouri residents all over the country, thank you for your
• 20:00
tireless work on the legal tender legislation issue and
• 20:06
hopefully we can look forward to seeing you again soon here in
• 20:08
  the basement. Ron.
• 20:09
Thank you again for having me back.
• 20:11
God bless you, man. Take care.
• 20:12
  Thank you.
