- 0:06Speaker 2: Now back to the Mark Simone Show on woor Hey.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 0:14Speaker 1: seven ten is the number. Let's go to Tony in Westchester. Tony,
- 0:17Speaker 1: how you doing, Hey.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Mark, I'm doing well and I love listening to you,
- 0:23Speaker 3: and there's so many things I'd love to talk to
- 0:24Speaker 3: you about. It's just, you know, Rudy Giuliani. This thing
- 0:28Speaker 3: with Savannah Guthrie. There's something on the internet that's saying,
- 0:32Speaker 3: you know, she interviewed some people connected with the ebscene
- 0:37Speaker 3: case and they're trying to teach her.
- 0:39Speaker 1: No, no, no, hopefully.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Okay, So here's the one yesterday when you're talking about
- 0:45Speaker 3: Elon being probably the next trillionaire, Why does it he
- 0:49Speaker 3: with all his brilliant attack homelessness because he's got enough
- 0:53Speaker 3: money to solve it on his own.
- 0:55Speaker 1: No, you gotta remember he could do that in a second.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Guys like this could figure out everything. But he tried
- 0:59Speaker 1: it with the government waste and fraud, the DOGE program,
- 1:02Speaker 1: and all he did was get attacked day in night, NonStop,
- 1:05Speaker 1: and he had to back off. So that's the problem.
- 1:08Speaker 1: You could. You know, guys like that can come in
- 1:09Speaker 1: and fix everything in government, but the swamp, the deep
- 1:12Speaker 1: state will fight you like crazy and chase you out
- 1:16Speaker 1: of Washington. And that's what happened. Let's go to Barbara
- 1:19Speaker 1: and Woodside. Barbara, how you doing?
- 1:21Speaker 4: How you do? And I'm doing great. Listen. I worked
- 1:24Speaker 4: at the city council and all these people are political appointees.
- 1:29Speaker 4: They're favors to the political parties. And I stayed there
- 1:33Speaker 4: only four months because it's the environment was too political
- 1:36Speaker 4: and very hard to stay there.
- 1:38Speaker 1: So when they want to increase the budget hire another
- 1:40Speaker 1: ninety people, it's like this is like Polly Walnuts. Polly Walnuts,
- 1:44Speaker 1: no medical Paully Walnuts, no show jobs, that kind of
- 1:48Speaker 1: stuff that makes sense. Let's go to Bob and Mottvale. Bob,
- 1:52Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I'm hanging in there, Mark, thanks to taking their call.
- 1:56Speaker 2: You know that the reason why they're closing out homeless
- 2:00Speaker 2: shelter for men is that it's decrepit. It's like any
- 2:03Speaker 2: other New York City landlord owned property. Let to go
- 2:07Speaker 2: to shame. And now they're gonna spend billions on a hotel.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I know, But my point was that Chelsea Market was
- 2:13Speaker 1: the most decrepit thing in New York, and Irwin Cohen
- 2:15Speaker 1: buys it and says, let's transform it. All of a sudden,
- 2:18Speaker 1: it's the most beautiful building in New York on a hotspot.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And it didn't cost two billion. At these hotel rooms,
- 2:23Speaker 1: it costs like twenty million. And that was it. To
- 2:25Speaker 1: fix it up it again, to fix up that. If
- 2:28Speaker 1: you give that shelter to Donald Trump and said turn
- 2:31Speaker 1: this into a ballroom, it'd be the most gleaming, beautiful
- 2:34Speaker 1: ballroom in New York in two months. So you can
- 2:37Speaker 1: fix up the shelter. You don't have to spend billions
- 2:39Speaker 1: and billions in hotel rooms. But as we pointed out,
- 2:43Speaker 1: it's a contract to the Hotel Association, which can do
- 2:46Speaker 1: you a lot of good. If you're a politician, Let's
- 2:49Speaker 1: go to Tony and White Plains. Tony, how you doing.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Morning, Mark? I also met Ernie Masters. I live in
- 2:56Speaker 5: White Plains, West Sheffield.
- 2:58Speaker 1: If you call that living, But okay, no, I love
- 3:01Speaker 1: white Planes. It's a beautiful place. You got a Trump
- 3:03Speaker 1: Tower in white planes, you got a rich Garlton and
- 3:05Speaker 1: white plans.
- 3:06Speaker 5: Yes, yes, but the reason why I called is I
- 3:09Speaker 5: met Ernie actually in the Poconos. Pocono downs at the racetrack.
- 3:15Speaker 5: My friend George Anthony, he calls the races there, and
- 3:18Speaker 5: I'm also the horse business. And I was with my
- 3:21Speaker 5: wife and some friends. And then we went up to
- 3:23Speaker 5: the booth. Uh, my friend George was calling the races,
- 3:27Speaker 5: and and and there was George Anthony.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I mean we got to speak the story up a little.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Let's get to part.
- 3:33Speaker 5: Ernie anstis, I'm sorry and and uh he introduced us
- 3:36Speaker 5: and he was a perfect gentleman. But we used to
- 3:39Speaker 5: watch them all the time. He didn't hit you, no, no, no,
- 3:43Speaker 5: he doesn't. He actually even off off to buy a
- 3:45Speaker 5: hot dog, but we already have one because they were having.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Thet all right now. It's a good, good point. Yeah,
- 3:50Speaker 1: Ernie was the nicest guy in the world. If you
- 3:51Speaker 1: go on Instagram, you'll see millions of people putting up
- 3:54Speaker 1: pictures with Ernie. That's because anybody who wanted to stop
- 3:56Speaker 1: and take a picture, he would be happy to do it.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Nicest guy. Check out my Instagram. There's some pictures of
- 4:02Speaker 1: Ernie there. Mark Simone NYC at Instagram. Let's go to
- 4:06Speaker 1: George in Long Island. George, how you doing?
- 4:09Speaker 6: Yeah? Hi, Poort Jefferson, Port, Jefferson. Yeah. I told next
- 4:13Speaker 6: time you come out go to Pie. It's on Main Street.
- 4:16Speaker 6: It's a nice place that makes Colon Pie is good.
- 4:19Speaker 1: But you got that Prohibition restaurant that's very good.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 6: I haven't been there yet anyway, Lisa.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Harris, the great baker, and you got that.
- 4:25Speaker 6: Hotel to go there? Yeah, I try to lose weight,
- 4:28Speaker 6: which is impossible. But anyway, and if.
- 4:30Speaker 1: You're in are you near Smithtown? Uh?
- 4:34Speaker 6: Yeah, I am.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Big spectacular new restaurant just open there, the Chaz It's
- 4:39Speaker 1: the sister restaurant of Rothman's, just opening in Smithtown this week.
- 4:44Speaker 6: I'll have to try it. Anyway, Listen, we're in trouble
- 4:47Speaker 6: when mcdonnie in the city. My kids live in the
- 4:49Speaker 6: city and they voted for him because they're crazy left wing,
- 4:51Speaker 6: is what can I say. They grew up in Garden City,
- 4:53Speaker 6: which where there was a Democratic vote in the ballot,
- 4:56Speaker 6: they'd have an investigation. But that'sn't either here or there
- 4:59Speaker 6: with mcdonnie, with Mandanie, we're in trouble because even if
- 5:02Speaker 6: Bruce Blakeman should win, we will win.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Bruce Blakeman is no.
- 5:06Speaker 6: I hope he will. I hope he will win, but
- 5:09Speaker 6: he would if he wins, and he can remove when Donnie,
- 5:12Speaker 6: under the city Charter, you have the you have the
- 5:15Speaker 6: public Advocate. Joannie Williams.
- 5:17Speaker 1: He's just well, he's no great bargain either. But else, remember,
- 5:20Speaker 1: Bruce Blakeman, when he gets elected governor can remove the
- 5:22Speaker 1: district attorneys, he can get rid of Alvin Bragging, put
- 5:25Speaker 1: in a real DA. Things can happen, Mark Listing, I'm
- 5:29Speaker 1: not first of all, this whole thing is your fault.
- 5:34Speaker 1: You're crazy left wing kids voted for him.
- 5:37Speaker 6: Let me tell you. I'll tell you what I told him.
- 5:39Speaker 6: I finally told my daughter, who went to a fancy
- 5:42Speaker 6: school and I paid for it, I said, I should
- 5:43Speaker 6: have sent you to the University of Havana. It would
- 5:46Speaker 6: have been cheaper and same results.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Goodbye, great call. Hey when we come back to the
- 5:52Speaker 1: brilliant columnist, the great columnist Miranda Devine will be with
- 5:56Speaker 1: us next on seven to ten w O R.
