  Speaker 1: Hey, everybody.
• 0:17
Speaker 2: It's I Do Part Two. I am your celebrity mentor,
• 0:19
Speaker 2: Bob Guinea, joined by two great fellow Bachelor of the
• 0:21
Speaker 2: Nation alums, Deanna Pappas, who I always say her name correctly, and,
• 0:26
Speaker 2: of course, Joan Vasos. So, ladies, I Do Part Two.
• 0:29
Speaker 2: We all have been through our own schtick and our
• 0:31
Speaker 2: own stuff. But it's the weekend. It's the freaking weekend.
• 0:34
Speaker 2: And I know one of the best things to do
• 0:36
Speaker 2: on the weekend for some of us would be to
• 0:38
Speaker 2: Netflix and chill, which we know what that means. And
• 0:42
Speaker 2: for the others would be to curl up on the couch,
• 0:44
Speaker 2: pop some corn, watch a good movie or a good
• 0:47
Speaker 2: TV show, which we are going to talk about today.
• 0:49
Speaker 2: So if you're in Chapter 2, we wanted to take
• 0:51
Speaker 2: this time to recommend some things that we think you
• 0:53
Speaker 2: should be watching this weekend. And, you know, we've had
• 0:58
Speaker 2: an opportunity to kind of talk through some things. But
• 1:00
Speaker 2: before we get into our recommendations– We have all, we
• 1:03
Speaker 2: are all divorcees, right? We've all been through it. We've
• 1:06
Speaker 2: all had either divorce or loss. Um, and, and we've
• 1:10
Speaker 2: become single at different stages in our lives than maybe
• 1:13
Speaker 2: the folks who get married right out of high school
• 1:15
Speaker 2: and stay together for 60 years.
• 1:16
  Speaker 1: Right.
• 1:17
Speaker 2: So when you were going through your time of loss for, for,
• 1:22
Speaker 2: for Joan and divorce for Deanna and myself, were there
• 1:26
Speaker 2: TV shows and movies that you were drawn to? If so,
• 1:29
Speaker 2: was it a specific genre? And then were there some
• 1:33
Speaker 2: things you were avoiding at the same time? And ladies,
• 1:36
  Speaker 2: take it away.
• 1:36
Speaker 3: I think you and I, in some of our little chats,
• 1:39
Speaker 3: kind of feel the same way that I think I
• 1:42
Speaker 3: was avoiding feelings. So I was trying to watch a
• 1:45
Speaker 3: really mindless TV. I was so worried. I had all
• 1:49
Speaker 3: these things going, playing through my head. My kids had
• 1:51
Speaker 3: just lost their father. They were grown, but still, it
• 1:54
Speaker 3: was a huge loss. It was a time in their
• 1:55
Speaker 3: lives where they still needed their father so much. I
• 1:58
Speaker 3: had boys that needed mentoring. I had girls that need
• 2:00
Speaker 3: their daddy. You know, I had a brand new grandchild.
• 2:03
Speaker 3: And so I felt all this guilt and I felt
• 2:06
Speaker 3: all these feelings. And so I was avoiding them as
• 2:08
Speaker 3: much as I could because they were in my head
• 2:09
Speaker 3: all the time. So kind of my time to watch
• 2:12
Speaker 3: TV is in the evenings when I kind of like
• 2:14
Speaker 3: retreat to my bedroom and just try to decompress. And
• 2:17
Speaker 3: the last thing I wanted was anything that was going
• 2:18
Speaker 3: to remind me of this stuff. So I did stupid
• 2:20
Speaker 3: things like HGTV and like any like, you know, old
• 2:25
Speaker 3: sitcoms and like Big Bang Theory. I think I've watched
• 2:29
Speaker 3: every episode of that like a thousand times just because
• 2:32
Speaker 3: I needed things that didn't remind me of like what
• 2:35
Speaker 3: I'd been doing all day.
• 2:36
Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that grief and, you know, we have
• 2:39
Speaker 4: all had this conversation. Bob, you and I had this
• 2:41
Speaker 4: conversation most recently. Grief comes in many different forms and
• 2:45
Speaker 4: different waves. And while I was not trying to avoid
• 2:50
Speaker 4: the feelings, I think I did an exceptional job of
• 2:53
Speaker 4: feeling every last wave of grief, good and bad and
• 2:57
Speaker 4: sad and angry and all of the things. There were
• 3:00
Speaker 4: times where I just needed to just check out. And
• 3:05
  Speaker 4: I love a good binge session because I'm actually kid-free
• 3:08
Speaker 4: this weekend. So I'm so stoked that we're doing this
• 3:10
Speaker 4: because I am still finding my footing as a single mom.
• 3:15
Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
• 3:16
Speaker 4: And I use the word single very clearly. I am
• 3:19
Speaker 4: a single woman. I am a single mom. And so
• 3:23
Speaker 4: when the kids leave, I'm still finding my footing in
• 3:25
Speaker 4: a sense of like, I'm not dating anyone. So it's
• 3:28
Speaker 4: not like I have someone to spend quality time with
• 3:30
  Speaker 4: on the weekends.
• 3:31
Speaker 6: So when the kids leave, I am still.
• 3:34
Speaker 5: you know, wrestling with those feelings of like, okay, they're
• 3:37
Speaker 5: here for a week.
• 3:38
Speaker 4: By the time they leave, I am exhausted. I have cooked,
• 3:41
Speaker 4: I've cleaned, I've wiped butts. I've done all of the
• 3:43
Speaker 4: things for a week. And then it is that like
• 3:46
Speaker 4: inner torture, you guys, like the second they leave, I'm like, oh, oh.
• 3:52
Speaker 5: I miss the kids. Where are they?
• 3:54
Speaker 6: You know what I mean?
• 3:54
Speaker 4: So I am still trying to figure it out and
• 3:58
Speaker 4: kind of gauge filling myself up when the kids are gone.
• 4:02
Speaker 5: And for me, that does look.
• 4:03
Speaker 4: Like the first day that they leave, I usually just
• 4:07
Speaker 4: isolate and lock myself in the house. And I find
• 4:10
Speaker 4: something really good to binge.
• 4:13
Speaker 5: Because I just need to check out. I just need
• 4:14
Speaker 5: to mentally check out. Yeah.
• 4:16
Speaker 2: And I understand that. I mean, I think it's interesting though.
• 4:19
Speaker 2: Mom's Moms and dads are wired a little bit differently.
• 4:22
Speaker 2: You know, like, you know, they always talk about mom guilt.
• 4:25
  Speaker 5: Right.
• 4:25
Speaker 2: And there's that thing where, you know, like you just
• 4:28
Speaker 2: said it, Deanna, like the whole week you're doing, you're
• 4:30
Speaker 2: probably amped it up even more than when you when
• 4:33
Speaker 2: you had a partner to parent with.
• 4:35
  Speaker 5: Right.
• 4:35
Speaker 2: Like you've probably taken it to the next level knowing you.
• 4:38
Speaker 2: Where it's like, you know, where before you would just,
• 4:40
Speaker 2: you know, throw it, you know, I was watching your
• 4:43
Speaker 2: post the other day about your ramen noodles.
• 4:45
Speaker 5: They're so good, Bob.
• 4:46
Speaker 2: I was thinking about you, though, because you're so sweet.
• 4:49
Speaker 2: And it's like, you know, I bet, you know, it's
• 4:51
Speaker 2: become a thing now where you're probably putting together gourmet
• 4:53
Speaker 2: meals for the kids, whereas before it wouldn't have been
• 4:55
Speaker 2: that way, right? Or it would have been, okay, chicken
• 4:57
Speaker 2: nuggets every night or something. But it's like, you know,
• 5:00
Speaker 2: now that you only have them like for that week,
• 5:02
Speaker 2: you probably are putting on the, you know, it's putting
• 5:04
Speaker 2: on the Ritz type of thing.
• 5:05
Speaker 5: It's balls to the walls for seven days straight. And
• 5:08
Speaker 5: then the kids leave.
• 5:08
Speaker 4: And the other thing that I underestimated is, like, I
• 5:11
Speaker 4: can describe many things about my marriage that I could
• 5:14
Speaker 4: take it or leave it, but there at least was
• 5:16
Speaker 4: a second set of hands.
• 5:18
Speaker 5: By the end of the day, you know, you're just tapped, right?
• 5:21
Speaker 4: We have these tiny humans that we're trying to raise
• 5:23
Speaker 4: and just make them good people. That's what I want, good,
• 5:26
  Speaker 4: kind people.
• 5:26
  Speaker 5: And I do.
• 5:27
Speaker 4: I put every ounce of me into that. So I
• 5:31
Speaker 4: underestimated when I got divorced and became a single mom
• 5:34
Speaker 4: how overstimulated I would be by the end of the day.
• 5:38
Speaker 4: And now my kids are a little bit older now,
• 5:39
  Speaker 4: so they're a little bit more self-sufficient. But I just
• 5:42
Speaker 4: find that when they leave, I don't want to cook.
• 5:45
  Speaker 4: I don't want to clean. I don't want to take
• 5:47
Speaker 4: care of anyone else. or anyone else's big feelings, I
• 5:51
Speaker 4: need to fill me up in that period of time
• 5:53
Speaker 4: so that when they do return in a week, I
• 5:56
Speaker 4: can go back to being a really exceptional mother.
• 5:58
  Speaker 5: Which I am.
• 5:59
  Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I get that. I do. I mean, I
• 6:02
Speaker 2: didn't have kids when I got divorced. So it was,
• 6:06
Speaker 2: you know, having children now, later in life and post-divorce,
• 6:10
Speaker 2: is a totally different experience for me.
• 6:12
  Speaker 5: Right.
• 6:12
Speaker 2: But, but I do know, like I go, I go
• 6:15
Speaker 2: host things on the weekends and stuff like that. And
• 6:17
  Speaker 2: I don't, other than me missing them, I don't feel
• 6:20
Speaker 2: the mom guilt. Right. So like I go and I'm like, Oh,
• 6:23
Speaker 2: I'm going to go have this really fun. You know?
• 6:24
Speaker 2: And then when I come back, I'll be even a
• 6:26
Speaker 2: more energized and excited dad or something. But I know
• 6:29
Speaker 2: my wife, I know Canyon would probably be feeling so
• 6:31
Speaker 2: much guilt, you know, going away and just doing the
• 6:34
Speaker 2: dumb stuff that I do. But you know, when you
• 6:36
Speaker 2: said that Joan about what you were watching, I will
• 6:38
Speaker 2: tell you, I watched friends reruns all the way through.
• 6:45
Speaker 2: And it was because for me, it was funny. It was, um,
• 6:49
Speaker 2: I didn't have to think too much. It was very
• 6:51
  Speaker 2: high level.
• 6:52
  Speaker 1: Right.
• 6:52
Speaker 2: So it wasn't like I was having to, you know,
• 6:55
Speaker 2: see something that's going to make me cry. You know,
• 6:57
Speaker 2: it was like, I'm going to stay happy. I'm going
• 6:58
Speaker 2: to stay light. Um, and I found myself drawn to that.
• 7:02
Speaker 2: I did, however, find myself musically going down weird rabbit holes.
• 7:06
Speaker 2: Like that was when, um, Oh my gosh. Uh, the band,
• 7:09
Speaker 2: the script had just come out, you know, and it's like, uh,
• 7:13
Speaker 2: you know, that song, when your heart breaks, don't break even.
• 7:15
  Speaker 2: I'm like, I know, right?
• 7:17
Speaker 4: You just never know which personality you're going to get
• 7:20
Speaker 4: fresh out of grief and divorce. Like, am I going
• 7:23
Speaker 4: to be a crazy person or am I going to
• 7:24
Speaker 4: be a sad person? Am I going to be a
• 7:26
Speaker 4: kind person? Will I be joyful, happy, and free that day?
• 7:28
  Speaker 5: I don't know.
• 7:29
Speaker 4: I really avoided like love stories. And one of my
• 7:33
Speaker 4: top 10 favorite movies is The Notebook. It's that like,
• 7:37
Speaker 4: It's that one for me that every time it comes
• 7:39
Speaker 4: on TV, I will always watch it. It doesn't matter
• 7:41
Speaker 4: how many times I've seen it. I will always watch it.
• 7:44
Speaker 5: But I could not.
• 7:45
Speaker 4: And really, y'all, I'm almost four or five years post-separation.
• 7:51
Speaker 5: Divorce was final three years ago.
• 7:54
Speaker 4: I'm just now to where I can read a love
• 7:57
Speaker 4: story or sit and tolerate a love movie because I'm so...
• 8:03
  Speaker 4: I don't know, maybe I'm cynical and I'm jaded now.
• 8:05
  Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, it's bullshit.
• 8:06
Speaker 5: That's not real. There's no way they like each other
• 8:08
Speaker 5: that much. There's no way they can stand it. There's,
• 8:10
Speaker 5: you know, like I, I'm jaded.
• 8:12
Speaker 4: So like, I have to like, I went through my crime,
• 8:15
Speaker 4: crime docu-series time where like everybody was getting murdered.
• 8:19
Speaker 2: Oh, there you go. That's, See, I always worry, like
• 8:21
Speaker 2: I tell a lot of my buddies, I'm like, you know,
• 8:23
Speaker 2: you know, you're in trouble when you come home and
• 8:25
Speaker 2: your wife's watching, you know, murder. This is what happens when,
• 8:29
Speaker 2: you know, your wives who kill their husbands type shows.
• 8:32
Speaker 6: Yeah, with antifreeze in their coffee.
• 8:33
Speaker 5: Yeah, a true psychotic would watch it right before bed.
• 8:37
Speaker 6: So I was kind of the opposite of you, Deanna.
• 8:40
Speaker 3: I don't have a problem watching love stories because like
• 8:43
Speaker 3: I still have my love story.
• 8:44
Speaker 6: Like he was my person. I lost him because he
• 8:47
  Speaker 6: passed away.
• 8:47
Speaker 3: So I still love a love story, but I look
• 8:51
Speaker 3: at it through a different lens now.
• 8:53
Speaker 6: Like I think, will this ever happen to me again?
• 8:55
Speaker 6: Not like I'm jaded. I know it can happen.
• 8:58
Speaker 3: Now I look at it and I go like, did
• 9:00
Speaker 3: I have my one and only, you know, or, you know,
• 9:03
Speaker 3: am I, am I with the right person now? Like I,
• 9:06
Speaker 3: you know, I it's hard to have had the one
• 9:10
Speaker 3: and then try to find somebody else.
• 9:12
Speaker 6: Like it's hard to, Like, get those feelings back.
• 9:15
Speaker 2: It's impossible not to compare, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah, it is.
• 9:18
Speaker 3: And I really try not to because it's not fair
• 9:20
Speaker 3: and you can't ever live. And you know what the
• 9:22
Speaker 3: other thing about when you lose somebody, you forget the
• 9:25
  Speaker 3: bad parts.
• 9:27
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 9:27
Speaker 3: So it's been five years for me and I only
• 9:30
Speaker 3: remember the great things about John, which is crazy because our–
• 9:34
Speaker 3: our marriage wasn't perfect by any means. I mean, you know,
• 9:36
Speaker 3: we had lots of, lots of stuff that we went through.
• 9:38
Speaker 3: I mean, you know, we were always in love, but
• 9:40
Speaker 3: we went through some shit and everybody does. And I
• 9:43
Speaker 3: only remember the good stuff. Like I remember him like in,
• 9:47
Speaker 3: like it's at such a level now that it's really
• 9:50
Speaker 3: unrealistic the way I remember him.
• 9:52
Speaker 6: So it's so not fair to compare.
• 9:53
  Speaker 5: Man.
• 9:54
Speaker 4: I wish that was the case. I only remember the
• 9:56
Speaker 4: bad stuff, Bob. I only remember. I'm like, sorry, I
• 10:00
Speaker 4: have to rack my brain to be like, how did
• 10:02
Speaker 4: I end up with that person?
• 10:04
Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, I mean, that was, and that's the difference, right?
• 10:07
Speaker 2: I mean, like, you know, in my divorce too, what
• 10:09
Speaker 2: was interesting was we, we just grew apart, right? We
• 10:12
Speaker 2: were living on opposite coast. We never had like that,
• 10:15
Speaker 2: you know, that catastrophic moment or anything like that was
• 10:18
Speaker 2: more like a, wow, what a bummer when I were here,
• 10:21
Speaker 2: you know? And so it was never like, I still
• 10:24
Speaker 2: speak fondly of her and I know she does of me.
• 10:25
Speaker 2: And so it's like, you know, that kind of situation
• 10:28
Speaker 2: is a little different than what you went through too, Deanna, obviously.
• 10:30
Speaker 2: But I was going to say, Joan, not to be
• 10:32
Speaker 2: flippant about what you were saying, but I remember saying
• 10:34
Speaker 2: to someone, they were dating someone who had lost their spouse,
• 10:39
Speaker 2: like they had passed away. And I remember saying this,
• 10:42
Speaker 2: we were talking one night and I said, man, it's
• 10:44
Speaker 2: really difficult to And again, I don't mean this. I
• 10:47
  Speaker 2: hope this doesn't.
• 10:48
Speaker 6: You won't offend me.
• 10:49
Speaker 2: I was like, it's really difficult to compete with a ghost, right? Yeah,
• 10:53
Speaker 2: people say that. And I was like, you know, because
• 10:55
Speaker 2: when people pass away and that's, I think, the biggest
• 10:58
Speaker 2: difference between loss and divorce. There is that dividing line where,
• 11:03
Speaker 2: you know, when someone dies, it's like there's so all
• 11:07
Speaker 2: these things we didn't get to do yet, right? Whereas
• 11:10
Speaker 2: when you get divorced is all these things that I
• 11:13
Speaker 2: wish we hadn't done. or whatever, you know, it's like
• 11:16
Speaker 2: just differing angles of those feelings.
• 11:17
Speaker 5: Or like death, you don't choose that. You don't choose
• 11:22
Speaker 5: like that kind of loss.
• 11:24
Speaker 3: And the thing is, when somebody passes away, when somebody dies,
• 11:28
Speaker 3: your future kind of goes with them.
• 11:29
Speaker 6: So, like, I remember, like.
• 11:31
Speaker 3: All my future revolved around John and I being together
• 11:34
Speaker 3: and the things that we were going to do together.
• 11:35
Speaker 3: And our kids were growing up. And our last child
• 11:37
Speaker 3: was in college when he passed away. You know, he
• 11:39
Speaker 3: graduated right as John passed away. And so, like, all
• 11:42
Speaker 3: of the future kind of disappeared.
• 11:45
  Speaker 6: So, it left.
• 11:45
Speaker 3: And, like, with him, like, my future looked like a
• 11:48
Speaker 3: black hole. I just had no concept of it. When
• 11:51
Speaker 3: you get divorced, I imagine, and I could be wrong,
• 11:54
Speaker 3: you guys can tell me, that you see a future
• 11:56
Speaker 3: that's happier. You're like, okay, I have to be away.
• 11:59
Speaker 6: From this thing that's been making me unhappy.
• 12:01
  Speaker 2: Eventually, yeah.
• 12:02
Speaker 3: I just have to get to the next side and
• 12:04
Speaker 3: find that happiness. I still have a hard time seeing
• 12:08
Speaker 3: what the future looks like still because I spent so
• 12:10
Speaker 3: many years with him.
• 12:11
Speaker 6: We were together for over 30 years.
• 12:13
  Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a lifetime.
• 12:14
  Speaker 1: It is.
• 12:15
  Speaker 2: It was, yeah.
• 12:17
Speaker 4: It's interesting how you all have the same grand– scheme
• 12:20
Speaker 4: of the word in grief, but the different layers of
• 12:25
Speaker 4: what we have each experienced. We've walked a similar path
• 12:29
Speaker 4: in the fact that it is this one thing, but
• 12:32
Speaker 4: there are so many different branches to it.
• 12:34
Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
• 12:35
Speaker 2: Yeah. No, it's so true. Well, I know that we
• 12:49
Speaker 2: have all had our moments, obviously, but I think in particular,
• 12:53
Speaker 2: we've probably gotten through them with some good binge watching, right?
• 12:57
Speaker 2: And some good movies and some good TV shows. And Joan,
• 13:00
Speaker 2: you mentioned one. Well, we have one in common. I
• 13:03
Speaker 2: know you have another one that you mentioned that you
• 13:06
Speaker 2: had watched that you really enjoyed. And why don't we
• 13:09
Speaker 2: talk about that one first? Sure. So it's a book club.
• 13:12
Speaker 6: And I think that It was kind of an iconic film.
• 13:16
Speaker 3: Just because the actors and actresses that are in it
• 13:18
Speaker 3: are like the elite Hollywood. So it stars Diane Keaton
• 13:23
Speaker 3: and Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steinbergen, Craig T. Nelson,
• 13:29
Speaker 3: Andy Garcia, and Don Johnson.
• 13:31
  Speaker 2: Okay.
• 13:31
Speaker 3: So the men are all handsome and awesome. Well, not
• 13:33
Speaker 3: all handsome, but they're all like iconic. And the women
• 13:36
  Speaker 3: are like.
• 13:36
Speaker 6: Kind of my generation, maybe a little bit older than me.
• 13:39
  Speaker 6: Maybe not.
• 13:39
  Speaker 2: I don't know.
• 13:40
Speaker 3: I didn't look up their ages. I think Jane Fonda
• 13:41
Speaker 3: is a little older, but I hope to be her
• 13:43
Speaker 3: one day. And so the actors and actresses are iconic.
• 13:48
Speaker 3: But the theme of this movie is so good because
• 13:52
  Speaker 3: it spans across.
• 13:54
Speaker 6: So many themes of love.
• 13:58
Speaker 3: So there are four women who met in college. And
• 14:02
Speaker 3: you see just a glimpse of that, like who they married,
• 14:04
Speaker 3: what they did, career path.
• 14:06
Speaker 6: One becomes a judge.
• 14:08
Speaker 3: Three of the four get married and it shows them
• 14:10
Speaker 3: now 40 years later at their monthly book club event,
• 14:15
Speaker 3: which really is very little about books and way more
• 14:18
Speaker 3: about drinking wine and challenging each other about where they
• 14:21
Speaker 3: are in life and like what they're doing. And one
• 14:24
Speaker 3: of the books they decide to read is Fifty Shades
• 14:26
  Speaker 3: of Grey.
• 14:27
Speaker 5: Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum.
• 14:28
Speaker 6: Yeah, good book. Bob, did you read that? I just
• 14:30
Speaker 6: have to know. Do men read that book?
• 14:32
Speaker 2: Men did not read. Well, I shouldn't say that. I
• 14:35
Speaker 2: didn't read that one or The Vampire Thing. I didn't
• 14:37
  Speaker 2: read that.
• 14:37
Speaker 5: No, I loved both of those, Bob. It gave women
• 14:40
Speaker 5: everywhere the gift of sexuality.
• 14:43
Speaker 3: It's just like it just put it right out there
• 14:44
Speaker 3: in the open. It's like the door is now open.
• 14:47
Speaker 3: So anyway, so they read Fifty Shades of Grey, and
• 14:50
Speaker 3: it eventually has them all kind of questioning their own
• 14:53
Speaker 3: intimacy and what they're doing in life. And so it
• 14:57
Speaker 3: takes you through the journeys of almost all kind of loves,
• 15:02
Speaker 3: except for somebody that had just a normal, lovely.
• 15:06
Speaker 6: Easy marriage kind of thing.
• 15:08
Speaker 3: So it starts out with one of the themes is
• 15:11
Speaker 3: a woman who was never married. And of course, I
• 15:14
Speaker 3: know you can probably guess this is Jane Fonda. And
• 15:17
Speaker 3: so she had never been married and she finds, she
• 15:20
Speaker 3: happens to out in the wild meet a man that
• 15:23
Speaker 3: she had had a relationship with when she was much
• 15:25
Speaker 3: younger and him trying to rekindle that relationship. And her
• 15:30
Speaker 3: clearly had never been married, was kind of a corporate woman,
• 15:33
Speaker 3: had this fear of commitment. And even though you could
• 15:36
Speaker 3: see that there was this huge connection and she was
• 15:38
Speaker 3: allowing it to be physical, but wasn't really allowing the
• 15:41
Speaker 3: emotional part of it to happen and how she navigates
• 15:43
Speaker 3: that later in life. Like this is her second chance
• 15:46
Speaker 3: and she figures it out at the end of this movie.
• 15:49
Speaker 3: I don't want to like spoil it for anybody, but
• 15:51
Speaker 3: it's just really interesting how she navigates it. And then
• 15:53
Speaker 3: there's Candace Bergen, who is, I bet you can guess,
• 15:56
Speaker 3: she's like the federal judge. And she has been married,
• 15:59
Speaker 3: but they're divorced. And he is with a younger woman,
• 16:03
Speaker 3: she discovers. And how like that is such a hurt
• 16:06
Speaker 3: on your ego. And she decides with these pushing of
• 16:10
Speaker 3: her friends that she decides she's going to date online.
• 16:13
Speaker 3: And it shows the funny online dates, which I know
• 16:15
Speaker 3: we've all had. And it's that it should probably just
• 16:18
Speaker 3: be a podcast all by itself. People's bad dating stories.
• 16:22
Speaker 3: And she's right in the middle of those and how
• 16:23
Speaker 3: she meets the, you know, the young new girlfriend who
• 16:26
Speaker 3: they end up being engaged and all this. So then
• 16:29
Speaker 3: that's another thing. Then there's this thing that I really
• 16:31
Speaker 3: related to. So Diane Keaton plays a woman who recently
• 16:35
Speaker 3: lost her husband. He's been gone for a year. She
• 16:37
Speaker 3: has two grown daughters and her daughters are treating her
• 16:39
Speaker 3: like she's really old. And they're saying, you should come
• 16:42
Speaker 3: live in Arizona with us. And they're trying to convince
• 16:44
Speaker 3: her of this. You don't feel like she's old. She
• 16:46
Speaker 3: feels she's funny and she's fit and she's drinking wine
• 16:49
Speaker 3: with her friends, but hasn't gone down the path of
• 16:53
Speaker 3: dating again. And she's kind of allowing them to talk
• 16:55
Speaker 3: her into that she's getting old and that they're going
• 16:58
Speaker 3: to need to take care of her. And they convince
• 17:00
Speaker 3: her to come to Arizona to see the basement apartment
• 17:03
Speaker 3: they've made for her. And she meets a man on
• 17:06
Speaker 3: the plane. And so she meets him out in the wild.
• 17:08
  Speaker 2: It's the dream.
• 17:09
Speaker 6: It's the dream to meet out in the wild. Does
• 17:11
Speaker 6: it ever happen anymore? I just want to know.
• 17:13
Speaker 3: So she's on this plane. And I always picture it
• 17:16
Speaker 3: could happen on a plane, right? So she meets him
• 17:18
Speaker 3: on the plane. And she really likes him. And she
• 17:20
Speaker 3: is making an effort without telling her daughters that she's good.
• 17:23
Speaker 6: And she meets up with him.
• 17:24
Speaker 3: And they track her down during a date and derail
• 17:29
Speaker 3: the whole thing. And she leaves the guy. She's feeling
• 17:31
Speaker 3: immense guilt about dating after only being... um, after only being,
• 17:35
Speaker 3: you know, widowed for a year and about the, the
• 17:38
Speaker 3: daughter's making her feel guilty. Like you've only been widowed
• 17:41
Speaker 3: for a year and how could you do this? And
• 17:43
Speaker 3: she's feeling this terrible guilt and leaves the love interest
• 17:45
Speaker 3: behind and how this all comes around to her. Now,
• 17:49
Speaker 3: coming back to the fact that she's really not old,
• 17:50
Speaker 3: she does have a second chapter. She's entitled to it.
• 17:53
Speaker 3: And she tells her daughters that, and you know, she
• 17:55
Speaker 3: has her second chapter. And then lastly, we have the
• 17:59
Speaker 3: woman who's been married for the whole time. She's still
• 18:01
Speaker 3: married to the guy, but they're going through like life changes,
• 18:03
Speaker 3: like as you get older. So this is all about
• 18:05
Speaker 3: women getting older and about like the relationships and they're
• 18:08
Speaker 3: getting older and he's retiring. And all of a sudden
• 18:10
Speaker 3: he is not interested in having sex anymore. And she
• 18:13
Speaker 3: thinks it's her and she's trying to dress up in
• 18:14
Speaker 3: sexy outfits and she's trying to recreate their connection. And
• 18:18
Speaker 3: he isn't going for it because it's all in his head.
• 18:21
Speaker 3: She even sits in my Viagra in one.
• 18:24
  Speaker 2: Part of it.
• 18:25
Speaker 3: And he's walking around, you know, with this thing happening
• 18:28
Speaker 3: down there and he's like pissed at her. He's not
• 18:30
Speaker 3: happy about it. He's not excited to have sex with her.
• 18:32
Speaker 3: He's mad at her.
• 18:33
Speaker 6: So it just goes through kind of all the themes
• 18:35
Speaker 6: and how they all come around. And you know what?
• 18:38
Speaker 3: The biggest thing for me in this thing is that
• 18:40
Speaker 3: it's all about community. So they have each other to
• 18:43
Speaker 3: like bounce things off of and to challenge them. And
• 18:47
Speaker 3: it makes me think about my group of friends. And,
• 18:49
Speaker 3: you know, I have groups that I go out with,
• 18:51
Speaker 3: you know, at least once a month that, you know,
• 18:54
Speaker 3: we kind of check in with each other and we
• 18:56
Speaker 3: keep each other accountable that we're not letting our lives
• 18:58
Speaker 3: just become boring and that we, you know, are still
• 19:01
Speaker 3: doing things in our second chapter of life that are
• 19:04
Speaker 3: meaningful and keep us involved and give our life meaning.
• 19:08
Speaker 3: And it seems like, like, of all the things, I
• 19:11
Speaker 3: loved all the love stories and the love connections and
• 19:13
Speaker 3: how they kind of all figured things out, but I
• 19:15
Speaker 3: loved their community. And that they relied so much on
• 19:18
Speaker 3: each other and that they got each other to the
• 19:20
Speaker 3: place they needed to be.
• 19:21
Speaker 2: That's nice. I like that. I did not get to
• 19:24
Speaker 2: read Fifty Shades of Grey, nor did I want to.
• 19:26
Speaker 5: Bob, you should read it and give you and Canyon
• 19:30
  Speaker 5: some ideas, man.
• 19:32
Speaker 6: Maybe they don't need it.
• 19:33
Speaker 2: Canyon read it. Canyon read it.
• 19:35
Speaker 6: But you were happy.
• 19:36
  Speaker 2: She loved it.
• 19:37
  Speaker 6: Here's volume two.
• 19:38
  Speaker 4: Yeah, Bob, you.
• 19:39
Speaker 5: Reaped the benefits of that one. Let's be honest.
• 19:42
Speaker 2: It's not a bad idea to be the guy when
• 19:44
Speaker 2: your wife comes home from that book club.
• 19:45
Speaker 6: A couple glasses of wine.
• 19:48
Speaker 2: Look what I learned, honey.
• 19:49
Speaker 5: You want to try it?
• 19:52
Speaker 2: Paint our room red.
• 19:53
Speaker 6: A little tipsy and with a whip.
• 19:56
Speaker 2: I don't know. Why do we have a red room?
• 19:57
Speaker 2: This is strange. But yeah, I think it's so funny,
• 20:01
  Speaker 2: you know, I mean, it's, it's interesting too. Cause I
• 20:03
Speaker 2: love that Don Johnson's in that movie. And then his
• 20:05
Speaker 2: daughter is in 50 shades of gray. Yeah.
• 20:07
Speaker 3: I know like kind of a weird crossover. Um, and
• 20:10
  Speaker 3: I love, I love that connection too, but it's a
• 20:12
Speaker 3: good movie. And Don Johnson is hot as can be
• 20:14
Speaker 3: even like, like the pep, like salt and pepper beard
• 20:17
  Speaker 3: and gray hair.
• 20:18
Speaker 6: He is still hot. And Andy Garcia. Oh, I just,
• 20:21
  Speaker 6: I don't think he's like super great looking, but he's
• 20:23
  Speaker 6: so damn sexy.
• 20:25
Speaker 2: Both still studs. He's great in Landman, too. I think
• 20:29
Speaker 2: Andy Garcia is great in Landman, too.
• 20:30
Speaker 6: He is so good.
• 20:31
Speaker 3: So I think that they hit everything just right in
• 20:35
  Speaker 3: this movie.
• 20:36
Speaker 4: It does a great job of watching the parallels of
• 20:38
Speaker 4: different lives and not missing anything that we all kind
• 20:43
Speaker 4: of experience in real life.
• 20:45
Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
• 20:46
Speaker 4: I say that because we're not living a movie, but
• 20:47
Speaker 4: it really gives us the experience of real life and
• 20:52
  Speaker 4: also the friendships.
• 20:53
Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
• 20:54
Speaker 4: The peace and friendship, the way that women bond when
• 20:56
Speaker 4: they're going through. And I'm sorry not to discredit men, Bob,
• 21:00
Speaker 4: but the way that women bond and we walk alongside
• 21:03
Speaker 4: each other and lift each other up on days when
• 21:06
Speaker 4: we can't do it for ourselves.
• 21:08
Speaker 5: I love this movie. I think that was a great pick, Joan.
• 21:11
Speaker 6: It was really good.
• 21:12
Speaker 3: I'm so glad I got to talk about it today.
• 21:14
Speaker 3: So maybe kind of bring it back. I think it
• 21:15
Speaker 3: came out in like 2018 or something. So maybe it'll
• 21:17
Speaker 3: bring it back to people's mind and people will stream it.
• 21:20
Speaker 6: You can stream it. I watched it on Prime last night.
• 21:23
Speaker 6: It was for like five bucks.
• 21:24
Speaker 2: Deanna, you have one too that you had as a go-to,
• 21:27
Speaker 2: didn't you? Yeah, I did. You know what?
• 21:28
  Speaker 5: Okay.
• 21:29
Speaker 4: So I told you no kids this weekend and I'm
• 21:31
Speaker 4: going to do all the things to fill me up.
• 21:32
Speaker 4: And that starts by being, you know, On my couch
• 21:36
  Speaker 4: in one direction.
• 21:38
Speaker 2: Looks like a comfortable couch, by the way, if that's
• 21:39
Speaker 2: your couch behind you. Right?
• 21:40
Speaker 5: I love that couch.
• 21:41
Speaker 6: And there's room for Bob and I.
• 21:42
  Speaker 2: Bob, you ready?
• 21:43
Speaker 6: You guys can all come over.
• 21:44
Speaker 5: I can put one there and one vertical and then one,
• 21:47
Speaker 5: you know what I mean? What's fine. I'm a good sharer.
• 21:49
Speaker 5: I'm a good sharer, you guys.
• 21:50
Speaker 2: I'll bring apps. Yeah, there you go.
• 21:53
Speaker 4: Yeah, I am always looking for the next good binge.
• 21:57
Speaker 4: And what I am turned on to right now is
• 22:00
Speaker 4: a show on HBO called Divorce.
• 22:02
  Speaker 5: Okay. Okay.
• 22:05
  Speaker 2: Aptly named.
• 22:06
  Speaker 6: I know.
• 22:06
  Speaker 5: All right.
• 22:07
Speaker 4: I'm not so sure it would be something that I
• 22:10
Speaker 4: would have jumped on, but I am always looking for
• 22:13
Speaker 4: suggestions of good shows. And I'll tell you what, I
• 22:15
Speaker 4: really liked it. I love Sarah Jessica Parker. She's one
• 22:19
Speaker 4: of the main characters. I am the girl who grew
• 22:23
Speaker 4: up on Sex and the City, loved her, loved the show,
• 22:26
  Speaker 4: loved these women.
• 22:28
Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
• 22:29
Speaker 4: I do struggle with seeing Sarah Jessica Parker in different
• 22:34
Speaker 4: shows and movies and not just seeing Carrie Bradshaw.
• 22:38
Speaker 6: You know what I mean?
• 22:39
Speaker 4: So Sarah Jessica Parker plays this woman, Frances, and she's married,
• 22:44
Speaker 4: but she's having this affair. She participates in her divorce,
• 22:48
Speaker 4: and it kind of blows up. There's some really big
• 22:51
Speaker 4: names in this show, and I kind of love when
• 22:55
Speaker 4: they do that. Just give us one or two people
• 22:58
Speaker 4: that we know from several things, and then build.
• 23:01
Speaker 5: The rest of the characters. I have.
• 23:04
Speaker 4: issues, and I love to build relationships with the people
• 23:07
Speaker 4: that I am watching.
• 23:08
  Speaker 5: In a show.
• 23:09
Speaker 4: I need to feel attached, you guys. Maybe it's because
• 23:12
Speaker 4: I'm old and single.
• 23:13
Speaker 5: Who knows? But I need to feel attached to these people.
• 23:17
Speaker 4: I struggle with infidelity storylines, and that is kind of
• 23:22
Speaker 4: what is taking place on this show. It ran for
• 23:25
Speaker 4: three seasons from 2016 to 2019, so I had never
• 23:29
Speaker 4: heard of it before. But this is what I will
• 23:32
Speaker 4: be binging. For the rest of the weekend, you guys,
• 23:36
Speaker 4: I loved the character dynamic between the friendships and as
• 23:42
Speaker 4: well as her and her husband. So I am the
• 23:46
Speaker 4: type of person when I am binging a show, I
• 23:48
Speaker 4: need to be hooked by episode two, three tops or
• 23:53
  Speaker 4: I'm out.
• 23:53
  Speaker 5: I can't finish it. I need to.
• 23:56
Speaker 4: Feel like I know somewhat of what is going on
• 24:00
Speaker 4: and feel attached to the show. And I will say,
• 24:03
Speaker 4: I only got into the first episode.
• 24:05
  Speaker 2: And they're quick.
• 24:05
  Speaker 4: They're not long, like maybe, I don't know, 30, 45 minutes.
• 24:08
Speaker 5: Really easy to watch. But within the.
• 24:11
Speaker 4: First episode, I got so much information, right, about herself,
• 24:17
Speaker 4: her marriage, her friendships. Like everyone's lives seem to be
• 24:20
Speaker 4: falling apart. And they're at that stage of life where
• 24:22
Speaker 4: they have been married for, you know, 20 or 30 years.
• 24:25
Speaker 4: The newness has worn off. The opening scene is like
• 24:29
Speaker 4: her brushing her teeth and her husband comes in.
• 24:31
  Speaker 6: He's like, oh.
• 24:32
Speaker 4: There's not a bathroom and it's taking too long. And
• 24:34
Speaker 4: I had to poop in a Folgers coffee canister. And
• 24:37
Speaker 4: you can just see the complete, like she's Sarah Jessica
• 24:41
Speaker 4: Parker is unbothered in this moment, but you also see
• 24:44
Speaker 4: her doing, you know, she's, she's like a normal woman.
• 24:48
Speaker 4: She is like looking at her eyes. She's, you know, looking,
• 24:51
Speaker 4: pulling her skin back, seeing how she's just getting older.
• 24:53
  Speaker 2: Right.
• 24:54
Speaker 5: She lifts her shirt.
• 24:54
Speaker 4: She's looking at her boobs and those girls never hang
• 24:56
Speaker 4: like they used to listen.
• 24:58
Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
• 24:58
  Speaker 5: I'm almost 45.
• 25:00
Speaker 4: So I just like off the bat related to her
• 25:03
Speaker 4: and her character. And she's been married to this man
• 25:06
Speaker 4: who's obviously, you know, he's older.
• 25:07
Speaker 5: He's gained a little weight. The sex isn't as hot.
• 25:09
Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
• 25:09
Speaker 4: The things that happen in marriage and long-term marriages and
• 25:12
Speaker 4: stuff like that. And then they go to their friend's
• 25:14
Speaker 4: house for dinner and it's just straight chaos.
• 25:16
  Speaker 5: It's her birthday.
• 25:18
Speaker 4: Everybody's really drunk and there's some dancing and she's fighting
• 25:20
Speaker 4: with her husband who she literally cannot stand. They cannot
• 25:23
Speaker 4: stand each other. He stands up and gives a speech
• 25:25
Speaker 4: and he's like, This woman is the worst, but like
• 25:28
Speaker 4: happy 50th birthday, babe.
• 25:30
  Speaker 5: I got you a dog.
• 25:31
Speaker 4: And she's like, what the, you know what I mean?
• 25:33
Speaker 4: So the friend accidentally shoots the husband and that's where
• 25:37
Speaker 4: chaos ensues in this episode. And so from that moment,
• 25:42
Speaker 4: I was kind of hooked because for me, I believe
• 25:46
Speaker 4: it shared the reality of how challenging it can be
• 25:50
Speaker 4: in partnerships. And don't get me wrong, I believe in
• 25:54
Speaker 4: companionship and partnership. And I know we opened up this
• 25:57
Speaker 4: episode talking about that and some of those good memories.
• 26:00
Speaker 4: I'm not sure that I have ever experienced a real, loving,
• 26:05
Speaker 4: healthy relationship. So I don't know that I know how
• 26:08
Speaker 4: to do that. I don't know that I've ever had
• 26:10
Speaker 4: my greatest love. I would like to hope that that
• 26:14
Speaker 4: happens for me, but I'm not so sure that I
• 26:17
Speaker 4: have experienced that yet. And so what I loved most
• 26:20
Speaker 4: is like you see these people experiencing, you know, what
• 26:24
Speaker 4: is real. Sarah Jessica Parker is having an affair with
• 26:27
Speaker 4: a guy who you wouldn't picture her with. He's not attractive.
• 26:30
  Speaker 5: He's hairy.
• 26:31
Speaker 4: Like he's kind of got a belly on him, but
• 26:32
Speaker 4: she's like getting down. She tells her husband chaotically she
• 26:36
Speaker 4: wants a divorce. And then she comes home and he
• 26:39
Speaker 4: finds out about the affair. And that's where the episode
• 26:43
Speaker 4: ends in episode one. He locks her out, chains the
• 26:46
Speaker 4: locks on the house.
• 26:47
Speaker 5: She rolls up. The snow is falling. It looks very pretty.
• 26:51
Speaker 4: And he's like, hey, babe. I called your buddy and like,
• 26:56
Speaker 4: I know cats out of the bag.
• 26:57
Speaker 5: So you can go screw yourself. And he is like angry.
• 27:02
Speaker 4: And he was like, I'm going to tell the kids
• 27:04
Speaker 4: they're going to hate you to have a good life.
• 27:06
Speaker 4: And that's where the episode kind of ends. And like,
• 27:10
Speaker 4: I haven't been cheated on in a really long time,
• 27:12
Speaker 4: but I do unfortunately know what that pain and that
• 27:14
Speaker 4: betrayal feels like. And for me, I felt that coming
• 27:19
Speaker 4: off of him. Like he was like bitter, resentful, angry,
• 27:23
  Speaker 4: and he is.
• 27:25
Speaker 5: Like letting her have it. And the episode ends right there.
• 27:28
Speaker 5: She kind of leaves.
• 27:30
Speaker 4: And I wanted her to kind of like bust through
• 27:31
Speaker 4: the door and break the glass and like come in
• 27:33
Speaker 4: like a heroine, but also she's not right. She was
• 27:36
Speaker 4: having an affair and, on her husband and it's just
• 27:38
Speaker 4: straight chaos and I guess I'm at a season in
• 27:41
Speaker 4: life where like my life is super peaceful right now
• 27:45
Speaker 4: so if I can have some chaos vicariously through this
• 27:49
Speaker 4: set of my television show then sign me up HBO
• 27:52
  Speaker 4: I'll do it.
• 27:55
Speaker 2: I want to watch it now. Yeah.
• 27:56
Speaker 6: You totally hooked me.
• 27:57
Speaker 3: And I'm thinking, do I have any hours this weekend
• 27:59
Speaker 3: where I can put into this? Cause I'm a binge watcher.
• 28:02
Speaker 3: Kind of sounds a little like you. I like to
• 28:04
Speaker 3: watch like five episodes. They're like, do you want next episode?
• 28:07
  Speaker 2: I'm like, yes.
• 28:08
  Speaker 1: Next episode.
• 28:08
  Speaker 2: Yes. Yes.
• 28:09
Speaker 5: Don't call me for the next six hours. I am busy.
• 28:11
  Speaker 5: Do not disturb.
• 28:12
Speaker 2: I think we're all like that. Netflix is all monsters.
• 28:16
Speaker 6: I know, I know, but you know what?
• 28:19
Speaker 3: You really can get like, kind of like, You're almost
• 28:21
Speaker 3: like part of the story, like because you're watching so
• 28:24
Speaker 3: many hours and I'll look at my clock.
• 28:26
  Speaker 6: I'm like, oh, God, it's 2 a.m.
• 28:28
Speaker 5: Oh, I should brush my teeth.
• 28:30
Speaker 6: I got to go to bed. This is ridiculous.
• 28:32
Speaker 2: I did that last night, actually. I know that last night,
• 28:35
Speaker 2: two nights ago, I got stuck watching something that is
• 28:38
Speaker 2: nothing along the lines of what we're talking about called
• 28:40
Speaker 2: Mayors of Mayor of Kingstown.
• 28:42
Speaker 6: Oh, I've heard of it.
• 28:43
  Speaker 2: Is it good?
• 28:43
Speaker 6: I've watched one episode, I think.
• 28:45
  Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it's why I couldn't even get my
• 28:48
Speaker 2: thoughts together yesterday to do anything and watch anything. But yeah,
• 28:52
Speaker 2: it's really good. It's got Jeremy Renner in it. And
• 28:55
Speaker 2: it's based in Michigan, actually. And it's kind of crazy.
• 28:57
Speaker 6: And it's like a crime thing, isn't it?
• 28:58
Speaker 2: Right? Yeah. It's kind of crimey.
• 29:00
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 29:00
  Speaker 5: I like crimey.
• 29:02
Speaker 2: Yep. I think all divorced women go through a little
• 29:04
  Speaker 2: true crime saga.
• 29:05
Speaker 6: And it's Just imagining things were different.
• 29:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, I say it all the time to Canyon whenever
• 29:10
Speaker 2: we're fighting. I'm like, you know, your parents know. Your
• 29:13
Speaker 2: parents know that if I go down a flight of stairs,
• 29:15
Speaker 2: I didn't do it on my own.
• 29:16
  Speaker 6: You didn't trip.
• 29:18
Speaker 5: I'm like, just put on a good trial. Like, that's
• 29:20
Speaker 5: all I need. Just a good trial to watch someone.
• 29:22
Speaker 6: We'll be watching Bachelor. Pushed downstairs.
• 29:25
Speaker 2: It was a dark January night.
• 29:26
Speaker 5: We'll side with Canyon. It's fine. We're going to side
• 29:29
  Speaker 5: with her anyway.
• 29:30
Speaker 2: I know you guys will.
• 29:30
Speaker 5: We like you a lot, but she's the great addition.
• 29:33
Speaker 6: Yeah, we love your wife. So sorry, Bob, you're out.
• 29:37
  Speaker 2: It's so great.
• 29:38
Speaker 5: How she's like always included all the events. Bob comes,
• 29:42
Speaker 5: you know, because he has to be there. But like
• 29:44
Speaker 5: she gets to come and we all get to like
• 29:47
Speaker 5: be with her and have.
• 29:48
Speaker 2: A good time. I'm the reason for the invite, but
• 29:51
Speaker 2: she's the reason why we're actually there. Yeah, we know that.
• 30:02
  Speaker 1: All right.
• 30:04
Speaker 2: We have one we share now, Joan. And this is
• 30:06
Speaker 2: one I loved. Jennifer Garner, Five Star Weekend. So this
• 30:11
Speaker 2: is one that I think is, I don't know. This
• 30:15
Speaker 2: is one that I got all the feels watching this
• 30:18
Speaker 2: one too. And I loved it because basically, long and
• 30:22
Speaker 2: the short of it, it's on Peacock. Long and the
• 30:24
Speaker 2: short of it is, this is one that a woman's wife,
• 30:28
Speaker 2: or I'm sorry, husband dies unexpectedly. And, um, and she
• 30:32
Speaker 2: decides kind of like what we were talking about earlier, Joan, with, with,
• 30:35
Speaker 2: where you were at when your husband passed, you were like,
• 30:38
Speaker 2: I don't want to sit here and, and go down
• 30:40
Speaker 2: these rabbit holes and be depressed. Right. So she's like,
• 30:43
Speaker 2: I want to have the greatest weekend ever.
• 30:45
  Speaker 3: Yep.
• 30:46
Speaker 2: And she's become like this famous, uh, chef type of
• 30:50
Speaker 2: baker and does all these awesome things. And, um, and
• 30:53
Speaker 2: so like, she's making all this great food and her
• 30:55
Speaker 2: friends come in and it's all these friends from different
• 30:57
Speaker 2: stages of life. One in particular. who's from almost like
• 31:01
Speaker 2: a fan, right? Who is very recently in her life. Yeah.
• 31:06
Speaker 2: Twist that we will, we will address, but we'll, you know,
• 31:09
Speaker 2: there will be spoiler alerts guys. So if you're going
• 31:11
Speaker 2: to want to watch five star weekend.
• 31:13
Speaker 6: If we address that theme, yes, people know you need
• 31:17
  Speaker 6: to go.
• 31:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll get there. We'll give you the la la
• 31:21
Speaker 2: la hand signs, but why don't you take it away, Joe?
• 31:24
Speaker 2: Tell us about this one.
• 31:25
Speaker 3: So she decides to host this weekend on her own.
• 31:29
Speaker 3: I think her daughter is going through some stuff. She
• 31:30
Speaker 3: kind of kicks her daughter out of the house a
• 31:32
Speaker 3: little bit, but her daughter keeps returning. But she is
• 31:35
Speaker 3: like trying to heal. And again, like a sense of community.
• 31:38
Speaker 3: So it's all about like inviting some community back in.
• 31:41
Speaker 3: And for some reason, she decides that she's inviting people
• 31:44
Speaker 3: from different parts of her life. So from like childhood, college,
• 31:50
Speaker 3: professional life. And now this person that has been a
• 31:54
Speaker 3: fan of hers online. So she does a lot of
• 31:57
Speaker 3: her cooking videos online.
• 31:58
Speaker 6: Maybe all of them. I think maybe she's an online person.
• 32:01
Speaker 6: Like a blogger, like, yeah, yeah.
• 32:03
Speaker 5: An aspiring food person like myself.
• 32:05
Speaker 3: Yeah, like she's doing these beautiful, like decorating the table
• 32:09
  Speaker 3: kind of things.
• 32:10
Speaker 6: She really is good. It's fun to watch.
• 32:12
Speaker 3: And so she invites these people from the four... parts
• 32:16
Speaker 3: of her life and they don't really get along very well.
• 32:18
Speaker 3: They're all kind of competing to be her best friend.
• 32:21
Speaker 3: And so like the high school one is nasty to
• 32:23
Speaker 3: the college one and dah, dah, dah, dah. And in
• 32:26
Speaker 3: the long run, she's kind of fed up with them all.
• 32:28
Speaker 3: She's sick of them and they're all in different bedrooms
• 32:30
Speaker 3: of the house. The house is gorgeous.
• 32:32
Speaker 6: She lives, I don't know, like on long, I know like.
• 32:34
Speaker 2: In the Hamptons or something. Is it Martha's Vineyard?
• 32:36
Speaker 6: I was going to say Hamptons, Martha's Vineyard. She's on
• 32:38
Speaker 6: a beautiful ocean on a cliff. It's gorgeous house. She
• 32:40
Speaker 6: has a great life, except for she's lost his husband
• 32:42
Speaker 6: that she was deeply in love with.
• 32:44
Speaker 3: And that story kind of unravels. And that becomes very
• 32:48
Speaker 3: interesting because they're learning that the story that she has
• 32:51
Speaker 3: in her head isn't the one that really existed out
• 32:53
Speaker 3: in the world. And they're kind of trying to help
• 32:57
  Speaker 3: her through it.
• 32:57
Speaker 6: And things are just going bad. one, and they all
• 33:00
Speaker 6: have their own stories. So they all have their background.
• 33:02
Speaker 3: One's having marital problems with a very domineering husband who
• 33:05
Speaker 3: keeps calling her and like, why aren't you answering your phone?
• 33:07
Speaker 6: You know, and like mean to.
• 33:09
Speaker 3: Her and she's really subservient. And now she's coming out
• 33:11
Speaker 3: of her shell. She's blooming a little bit amongst this
• 33:14
Speaker 3: like great community of these other women. So it just
• 33:16
Speaker 3: is such, it was another one that I think I
• 33:18
Speaker 3: watched eight episodes in, I think one night. I couldn't
• 33:24
Speaker 3: stop watching it because The way that the story unfolds,
• 33:27
Speaker 3: it unravels in a really good way that you have
• 33:30
Speaker 3: to watch the next one, but you can't just leave
• 33:31
  Speaker 3: it there.
• 33:32
  Speaker 2: Okay.
• 33:32
Speaker 5: Jotting this one down. Tell me the name of it again.
• 33:35
  Speaker 6: Five star weekend.
• 33:36
Speaker 2: Yeah. It's even a good one for guys.
• 33:37
Speaker 6: I mean, I want to hear that.
• 33:39
Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, I, I'm one of those guys. I
• 33:41
Speaker 2: love rom-coms like I'm that guy. Right. So this, this
• 33:45
Speaker 2: like was one of those things that, you know, um,
• 33:47
Speaker 2: I don't think they necessarily make any of these types
• 33:50
Speaker 2: of shows for men specifically. I've never seen one anyway. Okay.
• 33:54
Speaker 2: But it's like, I actually like this kind of stuff because,
• 33:56
Speaker 2: you know, you're watching it and I love the guy who,
• 33:59
Speaker 2: you know, never left the vineyard or Hamptons or wherever
• 34:02
Speaker 2: it is that they're at. And he comes around to
• 34:04
Speaker 2: fix things. And he's like the one that got, she
• 34:07
Speaker 2: was the one that got away for him.
• 34:08
  Speaker 1: Right.
• 34:09
Speaker 2: And so he's there and he's perfectly fine being by himself.
• 34:13
Speaker 2: He doesn't, he's not like, he's not like pining for her,
• 34:16
Speaker 2: but at the same time, You could tell he still
• 34:18
Speaker 2: loves her and he's got this very special place in
• 34:21
Speaker 2: his heart for her. And, um, you know, so you're
• 34:23
Speaker 2: like watching all these relationships unfold and it's like, it's just,
• 34:27
Speaker 2: it's just very, I mean, I know it's still kind of,
• 34:29
  Speaker 2: it's still a movie, but it's very real. Like it's
• 34:31
Speaker 2: very relatable, you know, this is weird for me, but
• 34:34
Speaker 2: I will tell you guys, honestly, like if you were
• 34:35
Speaker 2: to tell me the, the spoiler right here, it would
• 34:38
Speaker 2: not ruin it for me. And I would still watch it.
• 34:40
Speaker 2: And in my mind, it doesn't ruin it for me ever,
• 34:42
Speaker 2: but we won't ruin anyone. We won't, we won't do
• 34:45
  Speaker 2: a spoiler. But we'll just say this. There's a huge–
• 34:48
Speaker 2: there are several twists. But there is a huge twist
• 34:51
Speaker 2: that occurs with one of the friends that is there
• 34:54
Speaker 2: for the five-star weekend. And it is definitely worth the
• 34:57
Speaker 2: watch because it does catch you off guard. Like it
• 35:00
Speaker 2: kind of all of a sudden you're like, what? Where
• 35:02
Speaker 2: did this come from?
• 35:03
Speaker 6: And you see it sneaking up throughout the episode and
• 35:05
  Speaker 6: then you're.
• 35:06
Speaker 2: Like, oh. Yeah. You're like, this can't be true. Okay.
• 35:09
Speaker 5: I'm going to watch it. You guys see you've sold me.
• 35:11
Speaker 5: I will watch it. I will add it to my
• 35:12
Speaker 5: list after I finish Divorce.
• 35:14
Speaker 6: I want you to text us and tell us what
• 35:15
  Speaker 6: you think.
• 35:16
Speaker 5: Okay. Okay. I'm going to watch it this weekend in
• 35:18
Speaker 5: all of my free time.
• 35:19
Speaker 2: You know, I'll say this too. Jennifer Garner might very
• 35:22
Speaker 2: well be a younger Diane Keaton. Like Jennifer Garner plays herself.
• 35:29
  Speaker 1: You're right.
• 35:30
  Speaker 2: Doesn't she? Yeah.
• 35:32
Speaker 6: Always smiling, always positive. Like, okay, we can do this.
• 35:35
Speaker 6: Even when things are going down the drain, she's still
• 35:38
Speaker 6: positive and we can do this.
• 35:40
  Speaker 5: Yeah.
• 35:40
Speaker 4: She is so nice. I flew her once when I
• 35:42
Speaker 4: was pregnant and she rubbed my belly. She is the
• 35:45
  Speaker 4: nicest person.
• 35:46
  Speaker 5: Yeah.
• 35:47
Speaker 2: I know her. I know her through Greg Grunberg.
• 35:50
Speaker 6: I'm totally jealous right now of both of you.
• 35:51
Speaker 2: And she is such a sweet person and she gives
• 35:54
Speaker 2: of herself to her charity. She gives of herself to
• 35:56
Speaker 2: her community. I mean, you're right, Deanna. Her children.
• 35:59
  Speaker 5: Her children.
• 36:00
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 36:01
Speaker 4: She is like the epitome of like living her best
• 36:04
  Speaker 4: divorce life.
• 36:05
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 36:06
  Speaker 3: Right.
• 36:06
Speaker 5: She provides a house and a home. She don't need
• 36:08
Speaker 5: no man. Sister's thriving.
• 36:10
Speaker 2: But she's still there for her ex-husband when he needs her,
• 36:13
Speaker 2: even though he went off to marry Jennifer Lopez for
• 36:15
Speaker 2: a couple of weeks, you know? I know.
• 36:16
Speaker 6: And then undo that. Done with her now.
• 36:19
Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. It's like unbelievable, but she's always still there
• 36:22
Speaker 2: for him too. Like they still have a friendship. It's like,
• 36:24
  Speaker 2: you know, it's like the perfect, I don't know. It's
• 36:26
Speaker 2: the perfect storm, I guess.
• 36:27
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 36:27
  Speaker 6: She's not bitter.
• 36:28
Speaker 2: I was going to tell you guys. So I know
• 36:30
Speaker 2: you mentioned The Notebook earlier, and I have to tell
• 36:32
Speaker 2: you this story. So I had never watched The Notebook.
• 36:35
Speaker 6: I have never watched it, by the way.
• 36:36
Speaker 5: Don't you guys have that movie when it's on TV?
• 36:39
Speaker 5: You will always watch it.
• 36:40
Speaker 2: Well, I want you to know I have watched it now,
• 36:43
Speaker 2: and I want to tell you how this came to pass.
• 36:45
Speaker 2: So I meet Canyon, my wife, and at the time
• 36:49
Speaker 2: she was living in Vegas. because she was opening, um, she,
• 36:52
Speaker 2: she was the director of opening operations for this company
• 36:55
Speaker 2: and they were doing, they were opening a casino, a
• 36:56
Speaker 2: new casino hotel property. And so she had a condo
• 36:59
Speaker 2: there and I would come in on the weekends to
• 37:01
Speaker 2: see her. Right. And so I come in one weekend and, um,
• 37:05
Speaker 2: and she's exhausted cause she was like up all night,
• 37:07
Speaker 2: like doing other things. And she had to be there
• 37:09
Speaker 2: a certain time. So, uh, She puts it on. We
• 37:14
Speaker 2: lay down on her bed to watch this movie. I
• 37:16
Speaker 2: don't know what movie it's going to be. She puts
• 37:18
Speaker 2: it on and then falls asleep with the remote like
• 37:20
Speaker 2: tucked in here. And I come to realize it's The Notebook.
• 37:24
Speaker 2: And this was like a running joke with us. I'm like,
• 37:26
Speaker 2: I don't, I'm never watching that stupid movie, you know.
• 37:28
Speaker 2: So I start watching the movie and oh my God,
• 37:32
Speaker 2: I hyperventilate. I'm crying so hard. Like my, I'm like,
• 37:36
Speaker 2: I wake her up, you know?
• 37:37
Speaker 6: And I am so, she's like, did someone die?
• 37:41
  Speaker 1: Yes.
• 37:41
Speaker 2: And I'm like, yes, someone did die. I'm like, you're
• 37:45
  Speaker 2: a bird.
• 37:46
  Speaker 5: I'm a bird. Right.
• 37:47
Speaker 6: Who doesn't want that?
• 37:49
Speaker 2: I want to be a bird.
• 37:50
Speaker 5: I want to be someone's bird.
• 37:51
  Speaker 1: I get it.
• 37:52
Speaker 2: I totally get it.
• 37:54
Speaker 4: All of those, like, toxic, but yet passionate parts of
• 37:58
Speaker 4: what we dream of relationships being like, they love each other.
• 38:04
Speaker 5: Endlessly to the death and like the passion and the
• 38:07
Speaker 5: sex is amazing. And they're doing it in a house
• 38:10
Speaker 5: with no, you know what I mean?
• 38:11
Speaker 4: It's like that, that's the unhealthy version of what I
• 38:14
Speaker 4: dream relationships to be like that.
• 38:16
Speaker 5: You know what I mean? But I'll watch it every
• 38:18
Speaker 5: single time. That's the kind of love that I want.
• 38:21
Speaker 2: Like, it's a high bar, right? If you get to
• 38:23
Speaker 2: that point, I think. But no, but it was just like,
• 38:25
Speaker 2: I'll never forget watching that. And it's one of the
• 38:28
Speaker 2: things we laugh about now is like, we were only
• 38:30
Speaker 2: dating at that time. And I'm like, why would you
• 38:33
Speaker 2: put this on? You know, I'm not crying.
• 38:36
Speaker 6: I have something in my eye.
• 38:37
Speaker 5: And then they dated in real life. They won an
• 38:41
Speaker 5: MTV Movie Award. where they mimic the scene where they
• 38:44
Speaker 5: kiss and it's all raining. Who does not want to
• 38:47
Speaker 5: be manhandled like that in the rain? And they're making
• 38:50
Speaker 5: out and they're so hot.
• 38:51
Speaker 4: And then they mimicked it at the MTV, I think
• 38:54
Speaker 4: it was MTV Movie Awards years ago, where she runs across.
• 38:57
Speaker 5: The stage and he's so hot. You know what I mean?
• 39:00
Speaker 5: He picks her up and she's got the one leg
• 39:02
Speaker 5: up and they make out. It looks so dreamy. Sell
• 39:05
Speaker 5: me that. I want that.
• 39:06
Speaker 4: That's what I want my second portion of my life
• 39:08
Speaker 4: to be like, Bob. So introduce your girl to your friends.
• 39:11
  Speaker 4: that's what I'm looking for.
• 39:13
Speaker 2: I don't have any friends like that. I can promise
• 39:15
Speaker 2: you that, but I wish I did.
• 39:17
Speaker 5: That's why I have to be very careful.
• 39:18
Speaker 4: The shows that are movies that I get obsessed with
• 39:21
Speaker 4: because it runs me down the rabbit hole of like,
• 39:23
Speaker 4: what is not realistic?
• 39:25
Speaker 5: You know what I mean? Life comes in sessions and
• 39:29
Speaker 5: waves and it's, it's, you know, always moving and changing
• 39:32
Speaker 5: and relationships have to do that. And when you find
• 39:35
Speaker 5: a good partner or companion, hopefully you're able to do
• 39:39
Speaker 5: that together, but that's what life kind of teaches us, right?
• 39:41
Speaker 5: No two people are the same.
• 39:44
Speaker 4: And when I watch movies like The Notebook, It gives
• 39:49
Speaker 4: me this unrealistic expectation of what I believe love to
• 39:53
Speaker 4: be and what I think I need in my life.
• 39:55
Speaker 4: And the truth of the matter is it ebbs and flows, right?
• 39:59
Speaker 4: Sometimes we're not on the same page. Sometimes the sex
• 40:02
Speaker 4: is not mind-blowing. Sometimes we are... tired and exhausted trying
• 40:07
Speaker 4: to keep our children alive and make good humans.
• 40:09
Speaker 5: You know, life is always in session.
• 40:12
Speaker 4: And I have to be really careful, me personally, with
• 40:14
Speaker 4: stuff like that, especially as a single woman in the
• 40:17
Speaker 4: second part of my life, because then I start idolizing that.
• 40:20
Speaker 4: That's what I think that relationships need to match up to.
• 40:23
Speaker 3: Well, I feel like that's why you need to have
• 40:24
Speaker 3: like kind of mindless movies. Like my one that I
• 40:28
Speaker 3: will always watch, I have two that I will always watch.
• 40:31
Speaker 6: One of them is Mrs. Doubtfire. I love that movie.
• 40:34
Speaker 6: And it has like heartfelt moments and it has great
• 40:37
Speaker 6: humor and has him loving his kids, but like, you know,
• 40:41
Speaker 6: willing to do anything for him.
• 40:42
Speaker 3: And it's just so, so, so funny. And I will
• 40:44
Speaker 3: also always watch Elf. So those are my two. You
• 40:48
Speaker 3: watch really good movies like The Notebook, I watch Elf.
• 40:50
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 40:51
Speaker 5: Mindless humor though. Elf is like, that's a great movie.
• 40:55
  Speaker 2: It is.
• 40:56
Speaker 4: The kids and I watch that all the time at
• 40:57
Speaker 4: Christmas and then they think they're allowed to say bad words.
• 40:59
Speaker 5: And I'm like, well, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
• 41:02
Speaker 2: My kids think I'm elf. They honestly think I am.
• 41:04
Speaker 5: Mom, I could see that.
• 41:05
Speaker 2: I could see that. I bet you do. Oh my God.
• 41:08
Speaker 3: I feel like where I catch up the most on
• 41:10
Speaker 3: things that I'm missing on TV is when I'm flying.
• 41:13
Speaker 3: And I have a long flight because I live in Maryland,
• 41:16
Speaker 3: so I go back and forth to L.A.
• 41:18
  Speaker 2: A lot.
• 41:19
Speaker 3: And I most recently watched the entire, I think, almost
• 41:24
Speaker 3: eight seasons of Shrinking.
• 41:25
Speaker 6: I probably watched five of the eight seasons. Have you
• 41:28
  Speaker 6: guys seen Shrinking?
• 41:29
Speaker 2: I love that show.
• 41:30
Speaker 5: I've never seen it.
• 41:32
  Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
• 41:34
Speaker 3: You have the watching of your next five weeks alone, like.
• 41:40
  Speaker 6: Ready for you.
• 41:41
  Speaker 2: You're done.
• 41:41
Speaker 3: You can just write it down, program it in the
• 41:44
Speaker 3: TV and just get a glass of wine.
• 41:47
  Speaker 6: It's so good.
• 41:48
Speaker 4: But tell me a little bit, like you heard me
• 41:50
Speaker 4: say I need to be like sold by like episode two, three.
• 41:54
Speaker 4: So like, give me like a short synopsis of what
• 41:56
  Speaker 4: I'm expecting here.
• 41:57
Speaker 3: Okay, it's three therapists who practice together. Harrison Ford is
• 42:02
Speaker 3: the head of the practice. Anyway, one of them, who's
• 42:04
Speaker 3: kind of the main character in the beginning, has lost
• 42:07
  Speaker 3: his wife.
• 42:07
Speaker 6: She's died. And he has a daughter who.
• 42:09
Speaker 3: Is angsty, very angsty. And he is very awkward around
• 42:13
Speaker 3: her because she's so angsty. And they have a neighbor
• 42:16
Speaker 3: that she's kind of flocked to, a woman who's kind
• 42:19
Speaker 3: of like been her replacement mom.
• 42:21
  Speaker 6: And he also.
• 42:23
Speaker 3: Harrison Ford is now dealing suddenly that he has Parkinson's
• 42:26
Speaker 3: and he's becoming a little more disabled and a little
• 42:28
Speaker 3: more feeble and him going through that and him finding
• 42:31
Speaker 3: kind of love through his doctor. And it's just it's
• 42:36
Speaker 3: just really I'm trying to describe like it's a comedy.
• 42:40
  Speaker 6: It's definitely funny.
• 42:42
  Speaker 2: It's a comedy. Yeah, it's a comedy, but it's got
• 42:45
Speaker 2: a lot of heartfelt moments.
• 42:46
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 42:47
Speaker 2: You know, a lot of like, yeah. I wouldn't say
• 42:50
  Speaker 2: it's a dramedy either because it's not really a drama,
• 42:52
  Speaker 2: but it is.
• 42:52
  Speaker 6: It's not.
• 42:53
Speaker 2: It's funny. Their next door neighbors are hilarious. I love them.
• 42:57
Speaker 2: Who's the woman? Who are they? I can't know.
• 42:58
Speaker 6: I don't know any names of any stars ever.
• 43:01
Speaker 5: Okay, well, I'll try it.
• 43:02
Speaker 6: I feel like we didn't sell it well.
• 43:04
Speaker 4: I just keep a running notes section in my phone.
• 43:06
Speaker 4: I just need like good shows to watch. And so
• 43:09
Speaker 4: I like will keep it in my notes section.
• 43:11
Speaker 5: I'll give it a shot. I'll try it.
• 43:13
Speaker 3: I so did not sell that well.
• 43:15
Speaker 6: It's really, really good. Bob, can you redo my sales
• 43:18
Speaker 6: for that one, please?
• 43:19
Speaker 2: No, you were so good. I'm watching it.
• 43:22
Speaker 6: It really was a... Watch one episode.
• 43:24
Speaker 2: I will watch it.
• 43:25
Speaker 4: I will give it a shot. I will give it
• 43:26
Speaker 4: an honest shot. If you tell me you liked it
• 43:28
Speaker 4: and you thought it was good, I will give it
• 43:30
  Speaker 4: an honest try.
• 43:31
Speaker 6: I will buy you dinner if you don't like it.
• 43:33
Speaker 5: Joan, I love dinner.
• 43:34
Speaker 2: I love to eat. She's going to say she doesn't
• 43:37
Speaker 2: like it even if she loves it.
• 43:39
  Speaker 6: It's a win-win for me.
• 43:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go. Just try it.
• 43:41
Speaker 6: Okay, just try it.
• 43:52
Speaker 2: Let's talk about some other great ones. You guys ready?
• 43:55
Speaker 2: All right. I got a couple here. Actually, I was
• 43:57
Speaker 2: going to say Mr. Mom is one of my favorites.
• 43:58
Speaker 2: Do you guys remember that movie?
• 43:59
Speaker 1: Oh, Bob, I love that movie.
• 44:00
  Speaker 6: Great movie.
• 44:01
Speaker 2: So dumb. I love it.
• 44:02
  Speaker 6: So good.
• 44:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, Michael Keaton. I use lines from it all the time.
• 44:06
Speaker 2: Like I literally just said to Kanye the other day,
• 44:08
Speaker 2: I'm like, babe, if you need me, I'll be at
• 44:10
Speaker 2: the gym or the gun club.
• 44:11
Speaker 6: All you men have these stupid one-liners. Do women do one-liners?
• 44:14
  Speaker 2: No.
• 44:14
  Speaker 5: Men don't.
• 44:15
  Speaker 2: No, no, no.
• 44:17
Speaker 4: No, I'm bad with sayings and movie quotes and all
• 44:19
Speaker 4: of the things. Do not ask me what movie it's from.
• 44:22
Speaker 4: It's not going to register.
• 44:23
Speaker 2: So Kiana is pretty good. She's good. I've gotten her to,
• 44:26
Speaker 2: I've gotten her to like match me line for line
• 44:29
Speaker 2: from like Horrible Bosses. The movie Horrible Bosses. I love
• 44:33
Speaker 2: that movie. Also good, by the way. Yeah, I love it.
• 44:35
Speaker 2: So ones that are about this kind of stuff, though,
• 44:37
Speaker 2: we got, okay, this one came up earlier. How Stella
• 44:40
Speaker 2: got her groove back.
• 44:41
Speaker 5: Listen, listen, we got to have a whole sidebar right now.
• 44:44
Speaker 6: How'd you get a groove back, Deanna?
• 44:45
  Speaker 2: Mountain, man.
• 44:46
Speaker 5: That could have a sidebar.
• 44:48
Speaker 6: Tell me, Bob, tell how they got the groove back.
• 44:50
Speaker 2: I don't know how Stella got her groove back. I
• 44:52
Speaker 2: heard it was with a mountain man. I do.
• 44:53
Speaker 5: I know how Stella got her groove back.
• 44:56
Speaker 6: Do you think there's a lot of validity in getting
• 44:57
  Speaker 6: your groove back?
• 44:58
Speaker 5: I think that, well, okay, I can only speak for myself, right?
• 45:03
Speaker 4: I did not ask for divorce, so I came out
• 45:05
Speaker 4: of there kind of really wounded. And I walked into
• 45:09
Speaker 4: marriage feeling really independent and powerful. And listen, I don't
• 45:15
Speaker 4: think I'm an unattractive woman. I, you know, but like,
• 45:19
Speaker 4: I think that like, I have a pretty good face.
• 45:24
Speaker 4: It took me some time after divorce to want to
• 45:30
Speaker 4: even be in the company of the opposite sex. I
• 45:34
Speaker 4: was not I didn't have the emotional capacity to take
• 45:37
Speaker 4: on another grown man who needed me to hold his
• 45:39
Speaker 4: feelings and his stuff. I was just like I needed
• 45:41
Speaker 4: to like just care for me for a really long time.
• 45:43
Speaker 5: So it took me some time.
• 45:45
Speaker 4: And I would say that when I was ready to entertain.
• 45:51
Speaker 4: Someone of the opposite sex, but also not do commitment.
• 45:57
Speaker 5: I'm thinking of the best way to like say this
• 45:59
  Speaker 5: right now.
• 46:00
Speaker 2: Were you on a whitewater rafting trip perhaps? Or maybe
• 46:03
Speaker 2: you were on a hiking trip?
• 46:04
Speaker 5: No, I was in a mountain town for work and
• 46:06
Speaker 5: we spent like four or five days and I was
• 46:09
Speaker 5: at this bar and met this cute like 30 year
• 46:12
Speaker 5: old woman. And I spent a few days with this
• 46:16
Speaker 5: 30 year old man and I understood.
• 46:20
Speaker 6: This is a standing ovation.
• 46:21
Speaker 5: I understood how Stella got her groove back.
• 46:24
Speaker 4: Like once I left that mountain town, I got exactly
• 46:26
  Speaker 4: what I needed.
• 46:27
Speaker 5: He was very kind.
• 46:28
Speaker 4: Thank God he didn't murder me and kidnap me and
• 46:31
Speaker 4: hang up my body parts to dry out in the woods.
• 46:34
  Speaker 5: I was safe.
• 46:35
Speaker 4: And I spent a few days with a young man
• 46:37
Speaker 4: who told me I was pretty and had the most
• 46:41
  Speaker 4: amazing experience.
• 46:42
  Speaker 1: Sex.
• 46:44
Speaker 4: And I left there thinking, Oh, Oh, I'm not dead inside.
• 46:50
Speaker 4: I learned how Stella got her groove back.
• 46:52
  Speaker 2: There you go.
• 46:53
  Speaker 6: I love that.
• 46:54
Speaker 3: I mean, really like you needed a healing moment and
• 46:58
Speaker 3: you just, it just was kind of served up to
• 47:00
Speaker 3: you and you, I mean, you.
• 47:01
Speaker 6: Had to do it. It wasn't your fault.
• 47:03
Speaker 4: I needed something at the time to just remind me
• 47:07
Speaker 4: of what a powerful woman I am, right? I am attractive,
• 47:11
Speaker 4: I am kind, I am loving given the right situation,
• 47:13
Speaker 4: I am loyal to a fault to.
• 47:14
Speaker 5: Myself, and I just needed, I just needed to get
• 47:18
Speaker 5: my mojo back, you guys.
• 47:21
Speaker 2: It sounds like you did.
• 47:22
  Speaker 5: I did. I did that.
• 47:23
  Speaker 2: I did.
• 47:23
Speaker 5: Now I'm still single, mind you.
• 47:26
Speaker 2: There's no shame in that game.
• 47:27
Speaker 6: Doesn't mean you don't have your groove.
• 47:28
Speaker 5: Believe me, I am not shameful in it at all.
• 47:31
Speaker 5: I am living my best life. You know what?
• 47:33
Speaker 4: I don't come home and no one disrupts my peace.
• 47:35
Speaker 4: I don't have to do anyone else's dishes. And when
• 47:37
Speaker 4: the trash needs to go out, it goes out because
• 47:38
  Speaker 4: I do it.
• 47:39
  Speaker 2: That's right. That's right. I like it. I like it
• 47:42
  Speaker 2: a lot.
• 47:42
Speaker 6: A lot of freedom in that.
• 47:44
Speaker 2: Honestly, I don't even know how we talk about anything
• 47:47
Speaker 2: else other than, you know, now that we've touched on that.
• 47:49
Speaker 2: Cause I, I wanted to hear about the mountain man
• 47:52
Speaker 2: and we got to hear about the mountain man.
• 47:53
Speaker 4: So I can see what you're doing. You're trying to
• 47:55
Speaker 4: avoid Bob, what we know about you. And I'm pretty
• 47:58
Speaker 4: sure you gave a few women their groove back to
• 48:01
Speaker 4: in your time. So like, don't play coy on me, Bob.
• 48:04
Speaker 4: Bob Guinea, do not play coy on me. I've said
• 48:06
Speaker 4: it many times. I heard it when I got into
• 48:08
Speaker 4: the Bachelor Mansion when I was a bachelorette. I asked everybody,
• 48:12
Speaker 4: who was the most naughty? And they were like, Bob Guinea.
• 48:15
Speaker 2: No, gosh, no, no.
• 48:17
  Speaker 5: Oh, Bob.
• 48:19
Speaker 2: I am a gentleman. And although I did find it
• 48:24
Speaker 2: funny to say, I may have given... a few Stella's
• 48:27
Speaker 2: their groove back over the time.
• 48:29
Speaker 5: Where your badge of honor, Bob, where your badge of honor.
• 48:33
Speaker 2: Although I will say this, you know, guys got to
• 48:35
  Speaker 2: do it too.
• 48:36
  Speaker 5: Right.
• 48:36
Speaker 2: Like, you know, I don't know what the, you know,
• 48:39
Speaker 2: Stan had to get his groove back at one point too. Right.
• 48:41
Speaker 2: You go through a period of time where you think you,
• 48:44
Speaker 2: you know, the, the feelings are not, uh, mutually exclusive, right?
• 48:48
Speaker 2: Like a guy goes through a divorce too. And he's
• 48:51
Speaker 2: kind of like, well, what the hell's wrong with me?
• 48:52
Speaker 2: I got to figure out what's my vibe and who
• 48:56
Speaker 2: I am again. Because, you know, and I think everyone
• 48:59
Speaker 2: does it, right? Like you go through that transition in
• 49:02
Speaker 2: your life from whether it's losing your partner or divorce
• 49:04
Speaker 2: or whatever it might be. And you get to that
• 49:06
Speaker 2: point where it's like, okay, I got to figure out
• 49:08
Speaker 2: who I am moving forward. And maybe, maybe I am
• 49:12
Speaker 2: the dude who says, if you're a bird, I'm a bird, right?
• 49:14
Speaker 2: Maybe I'm that guy. Maybe I'll, you know, I don't know.
• 49:16
Speaker 2: Maybe I'm a little more elf. Maybe I'm a little more,
• 49:19
  Speaker 2: I don't know.
• 49:20
  Speaker 5: I want to be a bird. I can be a pigeon. I,
• 49:23
Speaker 5: you know what I mean?
• 49:23
Speaker 2: There's a lot of birds out there.
• 49:25
Speaker 5: A blue jay, a blue jay.
• 49:26
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 49:27
  Speaker 5: I'll be a bird.
• 49:28
Speaker 2: Yeah. Pterodactyl. I mean, there's a bunch of different types
• 49:31
  Speaker 2: of flying things.
• 49:32
Speaker 5: It doesn't do my arms justice. You know what I mean?
• 49:34
Speaker 5: I'm not trying to eat them afterwards.
• 49:35
Speaker 2: You do have lovely, I mean, yeah, you have the
• 49:37
  Speaker 2: lovely wingspan.
• 49:38
  Speaker 5: Lovely wingspan.
• 49:43
Speaker 2: Well, I hope we gave everybody listening, you know, some
• 49:47
Speaker 2: good ideas as to what to do this weekend, what
• 49:49
Speaker 2: to watch this weekend, what to drink in. And especially
• 49:52
Speaker 2: if you've been going through some relationship stuff, you know,
• 49:54
Speaker 2: there's definitely a lot of good stuff out there that
• 49:56
Speaker 2: you can watch that hopefully inspires you because it definitely
• 49:59
Speaker 2: inspired us to talk about it. I know. I love
• 50:02
Speaker 2: both of you women so much. And I just think, Oh,
• 50:04
Speaker 2: you know what? I just saw one. I think Grace
• 50:06
Speaker 2: and Frankie, did you guys ever watch that one?
• 50:07
Speaker 5: Oh, I love it. I did watch that.
• 50:09
