Latest / Pink Shade: Reality TV with Mary Payne / 2073 - Pop and Bravo with Kate Casey
Transcript
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, welcome to Peak Shade. It's Thursday. We're going
- 0:15Speaker 1: to talk about pop culture and Bravo and there's nobody
- 0:18Speaker 1: better on the planet to discuss it with than my
- 0:20Speaker 1: pal Kate Casey, the amazing Comma k Casey.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Thank you so much for having me. I am elated
- 0:28Speaker 2: to be here. Thought about it all night long as
- 0:30Speaker 2: I watched from my couch watching the Summer House reunion
- 0:33Speaker 2: that I knew that we would be brought together today
- 0:35Speaker 2: to talk about it.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Well, you know, I don't watch Summerhouse, but I like
- 0:41Speaker 1: to have people on that do talk about it because
- 0:45Speaker 1: all the rattling off of the things I'm seeing is
- 0:48Speaker 1: that Amanda seems stoned or doesn't seem to have any
- 0:53Speaker 1: reactions and maybe she took a little xanax. I don't know.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Well, it does remind me of when Vicky Gumbelson didn't
- 1:01Speaker 2: want to discuss the Brooks cancer situation. So Brian moylan
- 1:04Speaker 2: told me this morning that a producer told him and
- 1:06Speaker 2: actually played the audio of her complaining saying I only
- 1:10Speaker 2: took half a xanax, so maybe she took like three xanaxes.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I don't know that she was like a devoid of
- 1:17Speaker 2: but he did too. But then again, I also feel
- 1:19Speaker 2: like they're the kind of people that maybe have got
- 1:22Speaker 2: some sort of you know, Watts line to like the
- 1:24Speaker 2: good the good stuff that people are doing today that
- 1:28Speaker 2: I don't even know about. So they were on something
- 1:31Speaker 2: because they didn't really answer any question, And I would
- 1:34Speaker 2: think that's going to be a big problem moving forward
- 1:37Speaker 2: for this network, is that they need to make sure
- 1:39Speaker 2: certain shows that I think you drug test them. Honestly,
- 1:43Speaker 2: it's just you get you can't do that to a network.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I mean, you're paid to be a reality star, and
- 1:49Speaker 2: then you get to the reunion, then you don't answer
- 1:51Speaker 2: questions because you've taken a pill. That's a problem to me.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I think that those two are probably gone, maybe gone.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I don't I definitely don't think West is coming back.
- 2:00Speaker 1: But people did also point out somebody pointed out that
- 2:04Speaker 1: how quickly we forgot that his cousin murdered his step grandmother,
- 2:08Speaker 1: like the day before the reunion.
- 2:10Speaker 2: No, apparently he didn't know about that till after the reunion.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Oh, he didn't know about him.
- 2:15Speaker 2: My first I was with you. I was like, oh, well,
- 2:17Speaker 2: now I feel terrible, But then I found out he
- 2:18Speaker 2: didn't find out about it till afterward.
- 2:22Speaker 1: So yeah, I don't understand the attraction to him, But
- 2:25Speaker 1: I also have never arned.
- 2:26Speaker 2: He's very charming. I interviewed him once. He's charming, but
- 2:30Speaker 2: that was the first season, and then the second season
- 2:33Speaker 2: I thought, m he's gone, baby gone. He just seemed
- 2:36Speaker 2: like the fame and other extenuating circumstances did not make
- 2:42Speaker 2: him the same person. And I think he's probably an
- 2:45Speaker 2: innate people pleaser. I think having attentions extraordinarily important to him.
- 2:50Speaker 2: And I also think that he has opportunities that the
- 2:54Speaker 2: other cast doesn't because he's in a sort of a
- 2:57Speaker 2: like a different vortex with his his day job, and
- 3:01Speaker 2: then in the podcast space, he's more of like a
- 3:05Speaker 2: like he's into that sports adjacent world. I think that,
- 3:10Speaker 2: and then you know the Jen Fessler situation. He's probably
- 3:13Speaker 2: thinking himself, I don't want a middle aged woman audience.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I want to like go more into the sports field.
- 3:18Speaker 2: There's you know, it's a bigger space for me. You
- 3:21Speaker 2: can't tell me that after forty thousand new followers after
- 3:24Speaker 2: the scandal erupted, that the people around him are not like,
- 3:27Speaker 2: get off this train. Also, I will tell you as
- 3:30Speaker 2: somebody who has to interview talent, or has interview talent
- 3:33Speaker 2: over the last ten years, it would be a big,
- 3:35Speaker 2: big no no for a cast member to have a
- 3:39Speaker 2: scandal like that which happened in March. They would be
- 3:43Speaker 2: told don't discuss it anywhere until the reunion, because they
- 3:46Speaker 2: want them all to discuss their reunions. We're too much.
- 3:49Speaker 2: He's got forty thousand new followers. He has a deluge
- 3:53Speaker 2: of gms of telling me he's a horrible person. He's
- 3:55Speaker 2: probably getting calls from brands and other things who don't
- 3:58Speaker 2: really necessarily care about this. They just want somebody who
- 4:01Speaker 2: has a big following is in the center of a
- 4:04Speaker 2: news story to do things, and then he has to
- 4:07Speaker 2: be careful because it can't violate this. I think he goes,
- 4:10Speaker 2: you know what, I went off this drain. This is
- 4:12Speaker 2: even where I want to end up. I think he's
- 4:15Speaker 2: looking at Paige. He's like, look at all the great
- 4:17Speaker 2: stuff she's doing. I don't really want to be on this.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I don't think he will end up with Amanda now.
- 4:22Speaker 2: I think he's probably got a lot of women that
- 4:25Speaker 2: he's juggling. I think he feels like he's stuck right now.
- 4:29Speaker 2: He's waiting for the next big news story to happen
- 4:31Speaker 2: so he can like kind of weasele his way out.
- 4:34Speaker 2: But they're stuck together right now because of the sake
- 4:36Speaker 2: of the show and the contracts and all of that.
- 4:39Speaker 2: So I think he's dart in his eyes. He's looking
- 4:41Speaker 2: for the exits. And I think that she has she's
- 4:44Speaker 2: devotive of personality. She always tries to find guys that
- 4:47Speaker 2: have a personality and she can sort of ride the crowtails.
- 4:51Speaker 2: She's a romantic climber. She looks for relationships where she
- 4:53Speaker 2: can get access and opportunity. And they were in a
- 4:57Speaker 2: miserable marriage for a long time. We know now because
- 5:00Speaker 2: the reunion that they didn't have sex after they got married,
- 5:02Speaker 2: so that was four years ago. So that sounds like
- 5:04Speaker 2: a partnership to me.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Wow.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Yeah, she just sits around in her bed all day.
- 5:10Speaker 2: We know that we went from the city in the
- 5:12Speaker 2: city when we went to her apartment with that. She's
- 5:15Speaker 2: basically borderline hoarder. Yes, so she's very lazy. I again,
- 5:20Speaker 2: I don't know why they stayed together other than the
- 5:23Speaker 2: television opportunity. The other thing is you feel terrible for
- 5:27Speaker 2: all of these people, And then between the Summerhouse reunion,
- 5:31Speaker 2: like the last ten minutes and the beginning of the
- 5:33Speaker 2: In the City, I saw about what seemed like twenty
- 5:36Speaker 2: seven commercials with the cast members for different brands, and
- 5:40Speaker 2: then I'm like, they're all monetizing off this, so maybe
- 5:44Speaker 2: I shouldn't feel so bad for them at all.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Is west On that in the City show?
- 5:49Speaker 2: No No he made? No, no, no he made. He was
- 5:52Speaker 2: in a scene with Sierra and Amanda last week where
- 5:55Speaker 2: Amanda's really on in the city and they met for
- 5:57Speaker 2: dinner outside and they're short of like their body languages
- 6:01Speaker 2: off the netnut from the reunions. People are trying to
- 6:04Speaker 2: put the timelines together. I mean they tried to suggest
- 6:07Speaker 2: they started to have feelings for each other after the
- 6:09Speaker 2: super Bowl, which was February third. I mean I think
- 6:12Speaker 2: they if they were having sex, they were definitely gonna
- 6:17Speaker 2: get there well before that. And he said something like, well,
- 6:21Speaker 2: I kind of fell for her because I saw how
- 6:22Speaker 2: happy she was because we have the same friend group,
- 6:25Speaker 2: and I see her out now and she seems so happy,
- 6:28Speaker 2: and it's like something was happening before. It felt like
- 6:31Speaker 2: she gave him a cheat sheet of answers, and then
- 6:34Speaker 2: he had forgotten about the answers. You know, I used
- 6:37Speaker 2: to quarterback. Then he got to the huddle and he
- 6:40Speaker 2: was like, wait, what player are we doing? Like he
- 6:41Speaker 2: completely forgot about it. Now again he said he was
- 6:45Speaker 2: on He did sit confirming he was on Beta blockers.
- 6:48Speaker 2: But also he reminded me of the sister and sixteen
- 6:50Speaker 2: candles who went on the muscle relaxers loft. So I
- 6:53Speaker 2: don't know what he took, but they were not there.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I mean, they were not there, and so it was
- 6:59Speaker 2: a bit of an So they're gonna have an aftermath
- 7:02Speaker 2: another episode, and I can't imagine the network would be
- 7:05Speaker 2: happy about that. Now. People would go, but that's another
- 7:07Speaker 2: episode in advertising dollars. But it's also you've got to
- 7:10Speaker 2: get a crew. You got to facilitate it. You got
- 7:13Speaker 2: the lighting has to be right, the sound has to
- 7:15Speaker 2: be right. You have to make sure that they're willing
- 7:17Speaker 2: and open to discuss the matter at hand. You'd have
- 7:20Speaker 2: to isolate Amanda from West because I think she's telling
- 7:25Speaker 2: him what to say. Now, Kyle said at the reunion, well,
- 7:27Speaker 2: you're kind of isolating Amanda, like you keep her to yourself. No,
- 7:31Speaker 2: Amanda is the person who don't want to leave her apartment.
- 7:33Speaker 2: She like DAPs at her bed all day. So I
- 7:35Speaker 2: don't think that's the issue. I do think she was
- 7:37Speaker 2: giving them notes. I don't think he remembered it because
- 7:40Speaker 2: he would took the bit beta blocker. Plus, I don't
- 7:43Speaker 2: know he'd again. I like his guy wants out. He's
- 7:46Speaker 2: like and they're asking him, you to stay together, and
- 7:49Speaker 2: he's like, hamah ahamad, ahama ahamada, and admitted that he'd
- 7:52Speaker 2: been sleeping with this other girl that was She's basically
- 7:55Speaker 2: like she was like Caroline looking into the light and Poltergeist.
- 7:59Speaker 2: But the one time she showed emotion was they brought
- 8:02Speaker 2: up the fact that he's been like sleeping with this
- 8:03Speaker 2: other girl and they asked her, asked him about it,
- 8:06Speaker 2: and she said something like, well, once we made the announcement,
- 8:10Speaker 2: and by the announcement, I mean that Amanda wrote somebody
- 8:13Speaker 2: with chachipe teen posted on scrim stories and made him
- 8:15Speaker 2: repost it. Then we were exclusive. But then archival photography
- 8:21Speaker 2: showed that the girlfriend was with west In like April.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I think that all was coming to fruition where she
- 8:28Speaker 2: was like in the moment of clarity, she was like, ooh, Alza,
- 8:31Speaker 2: I thought I was the only one. Now. Brian thinks
- 8:36Speaker 2: what happened is that he said something like You've always
- 8:40Speaker 2: been the one. I've always been in love with you,
- 8:41Speaker 2: and so all this other girl stuff probably didn't matter
- 8:44Speaker 2: because she was like, well, it's always been me he's
- 8:47Speaker 2: been in love with because she's living in like in
- 8:48Speaker 2: John Hughes movie in her head, right, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 8:51Speaker 2: so she thinks they're gonna add him together again. This guy,
- 8:54Speaker 2: he's a guy in high school who had like a
- 8:57Speaker 2: girlfriend at the high school, but he also had one
- 8:59Speaker 2: of the neighbor in high school and then maybe he
- 9:01Speaker 2: was sleeping with his mom's friend, you know. And she's
- 9:05Speaker 2: kind of delusional. So she again is the girl that
- 9:08Speaker 2: we knew in elementary school. On the recess McCadam crying
- 9:13Speaker 2: and girls were around her comforting her. She's still like that,
- 9:17Speaker 2: Like even at three Union, Kyle's like, m I still
- 9:19Speaker 2: care about Amanda. I'm really worried about her. And then
- 9:22Speaker 2: everyone's like, oh, we're worried about Amanda. Why are you
- 9:25Speaker 2: in a reality show? Your the tooth and skin. You
- 9:27Speaker 2: shouldn't be on a reality show. But I think she
- 9:29Speaker 2: uses it as a control tactic. Is like to make
- 9:31Speaker 2: people think that she's fragile. M Oh my gosh, that's
- 9:36Speaker 2: what it is. That's that's what's going on.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Well, I'll be interested to see what happens to that
- 9:41Speaker 1: cast for next season. Even though I don't I just
- 9:44Speaker 1: don't understand the idea of being in your late thirties
- 9:48Speaker 1: early forties going to a sharehouse in the summer, Like, yes,
- 9:52Speaker 1: it's something you do. It's really weird, right, It's probably
- 9:56Speaker 1: not something actually they would be doing. As ladies of

- 12:11Speaker 1: What is Wes's day job?
- 12:13Speaker 2: I didn't know he had a day job. Oh yeah, no,
- 12:16Speaker 2: he works in media. He does work in media. But
- 12:18Speaker 2: here's the thing. If your son lived with a forty
- 12:22Speaker 2: year old in a sharehouse, you'd be like, what's happening here?
- 12:25Speaker 2: Am I an? I? Like, they're how old? They're losers? Like?
- 12:30Speaker 2: Does it even a four oh one? K? Like to
- 12:32Speaker 2: check on.
- 12:33Speaker 1: These people are losers?
- 12:34Speaker 2: What are you talking of?
- 12:35Speaker 1: They should losers?
- 12:37Speaker 2: Why are like? Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, Because I was
- 12:39Speaker 2: just talking to Chris about Love Island, which is like
- 12:42Speaker 2: Don's age group, right, and it's like that's when you
- 12:44Speaker 2: like hook up a lot, because you got to figure
- 12:46Speaker 2: out what kind of person you want to be with.
- 12:47Speaker 2: But like a forty year old and had a forty
- 12:50Speaker 2: year old, it was married in a miserable relationship. I'll
- 12:53Speaker 2: take a pass on that.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Are you watching Love Island?
- 12:56Speaker 2: I did. I just watched Love Island so we could
- 12:58Speaker 2: talk about it, and I really did laugh so hard
- 13:00Speaker 2: because Chris's observations are astute and true and sadly and
- 13:06Speaker 2: all the all of them complained about previous toxic relationships,
- 13:09Speaker 2: but they're all like twenty one and twenty two.
- 13:12Speaker 1: You're like when you were fifteen.
- 13:14Speaker 2: And then they've got these weird challenges where it's like okay, now,
- 13:17Speaker 2: like you're all gonna be like lingerie and then you're
- 13:21Speaker 2: gonna have to rub paint on each other and then
- 13:22Speaker 2: be blindfolded and you have to make out with every
- 13:25Speaker 2: person and and just text texture wise figure out who's
- 13:29Speaker 2: the person that you're you're really into, like if it's
- 13:32Speaker 2: a matchup, almost like test tasting, you know, like I
- 13:37Speaker 2: don't know pasta, like you know, like to find out
- 13:40Speaker 2: like is it your mom's pasta?
- 13:42Speaker 1: Or like four different wines? Can you tell which one is?
- 13:45Speaker 1: Fifteen dollars eighty dollars?
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Well no, John and his girlfriend are watching it. They
- 13:52Speaker 1: talk about it every night.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Oh that's what that's who watches it because Mea watches too.
- 13:56Speaker 2: All the high school girls what they love it. And
- 13:58Speaker 2: there's a new guy named Caleb who's on the blue
- 14:00Speaker 2: added from North Carolina and the girls are losing their
- 14:02Speaker 2: minds over him.
- 14:03Speaker 1: He's a it's a young person's game. Matt and Jake
- 14:07Speaker 1: are covering it, which I was like, uh, it's hilarious, hilarious.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I can't I can't imagine whether I, like I said,
- 14:13Speaker 1: I've watched it.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Is funny to hear a gay guy's perspective, because Chris
- 14:17Speaker 2: was like, uh, by the way, this is like toxic
- 14:20Speaker 2: masculinity and here's an example of it. And I was like,
- 14:22Speaker 2: oh yeah, you're right, Oh yeah, it's a jazy. But
- 14:27Speaker 2: the guy Caleb, that's really cute, that just got to
- 14:29Speaker 2: the show. He works in air conditioning repairs. I gotta
- 14:35Speaker 2: be honest with you, twenty twenty six, that's the guy
- 14:37Speaker 2: you want to date. Do you know how much money
- 14:39Speaker 2: they make repairs?
- 14:42Speaker 1: Caleb Love Island. I'm gonna look him up right now.
- 14:46Speaker 2: I mean, have you read your air conditioning break? I
- 14:48Speaker 2: mean they're making a lot. That's a good business to
- 14:51Speaker 2: be in.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Caleb and Ganna. Yeah, he's very cute.
- 14:54Speaker 2: He's cute, but he's you know, he's twenty one.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Well yeah, I mean, uh yes. The HVAC people, Well,
- 14:59Speaker 1: first of all, I'm always fascinated about h people because
- 15:04Speaker 1: they make a lot of money. Yes, they have a skill,
- 15:06Speaker 1: you know. But it's interesting that a lot of people
- 15:10Speaker 1: in love after lock up they go to HVAC school afterwards.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Oh you know why, because they make great money.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I'm like, that's right. Now, you know a skill and
- 15:17Speaker 1: you make a lot of money, and they maybe don't care.
- 15:20Speaker 1: They'll train you, they don't care. If you're a fellon,
- 15:22Speaker 1: let's see if you can make it work.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Well, you know, felons need to make money too.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Well, that's right. It's like Ethan Plath. For a long
- 15:29Speaker 1: time did like copy or repair at offices.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Okay, that's a business that's going out of business, right right,
- 15:36Speaker 2: that was a long time. Who the hell needs a
- 15:38Speaker 2: copy anymore?
- 15:39Speaker 1: Well, I've listen. I've got a coffee right there. That's
- 15:42Speaker 1: my coffee. It's a pretty send you DOCU sign. Now
- 15:45Speaker 1: it's a printer, do you know what I mean? Like
- 15:47Speaker 1: I've printed and then that it's old school. I went
- 15:51Speaker 1: to the beach too, just in case. Okay, let's talk
- 15:55Speaker 1: about Rhode Island because you and I have not had
- 15:56Speaker 1: a chance to chat yet. Now Rhode Island, I was
- 16:01Speaker 1: late to the game, but I'm all called up because
- 16:04Speaker 1: everybody's faces were the same when it was upsetting. So
- 16:07Speaker 1: once I got everybody straight in my mind, now I
- 16:11Speaker 1: am into it.
- 16:14Speaker 2: By the way, there's one episode left of the season.
- 16:16Speaker 2: You finally I know I've got it.
- 16:18Speaker 1: No, I only was one behind the whole time last
- 16:22Speaker 1: night before I was like, I got all caught up.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Now I got I went to my peacock, I got
- 16:26Speaker 1: it all done. What did you First of all, what
- 16:30Speaker 1: did you think about the ruler and the husband? And
- 16:34Speaker 1: then they showed on the preview for next thing like, yeah,
- 16:37Speaker 1: he got arrested for tracking me. I was like, you
- 16:39Speaker 1: gotta have been tracking him? What are you talking about?
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I got a theory about those Okay. I think
- 16:46Speaker 2: they can't get a divorce because they have lots of businesses,
- 16:50Speaker 2: and I don't know if all of the businesses the
- 16:52Speaker 2: other person's aware of what the business makes and how
- 16:55Speaker 2: it's operating. And I think, and I think I've heard
- 16:59Speaker 2: this too, that they were just supposed to be a friend,
- 17:01Speaker 2: like she was supposed to be a friend of the cast.
- 17:04Speaker 2: But because this was such a big story that it
- 17:08Speaker 2: was kind of intertwined everybody's, you know, storyline, that they
- 17:12Speaker 2: had to make her a cast member, so why she's
- 17:14Speaker 2: like barely there in a lot of things. She was
- 17:16Speaker 2: supposed to be a friend of. So now she's fucked
- 17:18Speaker 2: because she thought she'd be a friend of of a show,
- 17:20Speaker 2: maybe do some little publicity for the MEDSPA. But now
- 17:24Speaker 2: the podiatrist foot surgeon husband has this affair, which I
- 17:31Speaker 2: don't think she really cares about because it sounds like
- 17:35Speaker 2: he was with the Spanish teacher. Alicia's a Spanish teacher
- 17:37Speaker 2: when he met Rula, so she was the other woman.
- 17:40Speaker 2: So he's probably that's part of it, like in an
- 17:42Speaker 2: agreement that they you know, she's probably like, uh, I
- 17:44Speaker 2: won't I won't ask you about the other women. I
- 17:47Speaker 2: just want to make sure that you do the following
- 17:48Speaker 2: or whatever. There's some sort of agreement going on.
- 17:50Speaker 1: It's like just don't embarrass me, don't ask, don't tell. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:53Speaker 1: I embarrass me, and now he's embarrassed her.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean they probably don't even hook up. They
- 17:57Speaker 2: probably haven't for a while, but they have two kids
- 17:59Speaker 2: together and they have a life to get and it's like,
- 18:00Speaker 2: you know, they've got a lot of things, you know, intertwined,
- 18:04Speaker 2: but they must know too much about each other that
- 18:06Speaker 2: they're like, I don't want to be in a situation
- 18:09Speaker 2: where we have to split for a multitude of reasons.
- 18:12Speaker 2: And now we're screwed because we're on this TV show
- 18:15Speaker 2: and you can't leave me because I know all that info.
- 18:17Speaker 2: But you've got this woman who you've been sleeping with,
- 18:20Speaker 2: who you've clearly led to believe is going to be
- 18:24Speaker 2: the next wife, and she's going to get real angry
- 18:29Speaker 2: when she realizes that he was probably lying to her.
- 18:31Speaker 2: He's never going to leave Rula, And then that mistress
- 18:34Speaker 2: probably knows stuff too.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I just get the feeling that this is like a
- 18:38Speaker 2: true crime doc waiting to happen.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I agree, especially when I heard the whole like he
- 18:43Speaker 1: got arrested for tracking her. I was like, what's he
- 18:47Speaker 1: tracking her for? She's going to these housewives party or
- 18:50Speaker 1: driving her kids around, you know.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Or he's tracking her so he can't so the mistress
- 18:56Speaker 2: that they don't have to cross paths at allah.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I didn't think about that, But I mean, why don't
- 19:02Speaker 1: just put Find my Friends on iPhone like it? Because
- 19:06Speaker 1: it's a different generation.
- 19:08Speaker 2: They have little kids, you know, they don't have teenagers
- 19:11Speaker 2: where they you know, find my phone and all that's
- 19:12Speaker 2: three life, three sixty that they don't know about that.
- 19:15Speaker 2: So he's got to go old school. He's gonna like
- 19:16Speaker 2: put a device under her car like it's, you know, goodfellows.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I just saw also speaking of people being tracked
- 19:23Speaker 1: and Lisa Hockstein and her boyfriend like their charges dropped
- 19:26Speaker 1: or whatever for the tracking of Lenny. And then it
- 19:29Speaker 1: said all these people had come out with allegations. This
- 19:32Speaker 1: woman had come out with allegations against Lenny of assault,
- 19:37Speaker 1: like being drugged and assaulted in a hotel room. So
- 19:41Speaker 1: it's not looking good for Lenny. It'd be great if
- 19:43Speaker 1: they were filming in Miami.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Well that's what's gonna say. What what a year? What
- 19:47Speaker 2: a couple of months to not be filming? Lots has
- 19:50Speaker 2: happened in Miami? I really feel like they used the bone.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and Miguel Luciano told me that not Marisa, all
- 20:01Speaker 1: the other one are why is her name just Alexia?
- 20:06Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 20:07Speaker 2: Alexia.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Alexia and Todd are back together.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Back together, back together and strung. But he may have
- 20:14Speaker 2: been like, because it's off the air now, now we
- 20:16Speaker 2: can get back together, because I think again, maybe doesn't
- 20:21Speaker 2: want to be on the show because that's hanging a
- 20:23Speaker 2: light on stuff.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Yeah right, yeah, you see what happens when people get
- 20:27Speaker 1: too interested in your finances or your job.
- 20:31Speaker 2: So well, somebody could write a scripted series where it's
- 20:34Speaker 2: a reality show and the woman gets involved with the
- 20:37Speaker 2: man and then the man's doing something that's like super
- 20:40Speaker 2: shady and then like everything goes haywire.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Yeah you have a lot, it'll be good. Yeah, what
- 20:48Speaker 1: did you think about this whole? Like Liz and Alicia
- 20:51Speaker 1: fight over the word homeless. I saw Liz and Watch
- 20:53Speaker 1: What Happens Live, and what she said to Andy was
- 20:57Speaker 1: basically she was kind of trying to protect Alisha from
- 20:59Speaker 1: her because when you said the word homeless, now maybe
- 21:03Speaker 1: later people are gonna come after you and be like, oh,
- 21:05Speaker 1: you shouldn't used that word. You're appropriating that word. It
- 21:08Speaker 1: really that's not what happened. You literally moved in with
- 21:11Speaker 1: your aunt. You were never you were never homeless. But
- 21:14Speaker 1: Alicia's thought was, my dad like sold the house out
- 21:17Speaker 1: from under us, and we had nowhere to live. We
- 21:19Speaker 1: had to move in with my aunt. So you could
- 21:20Speaker 1: see both points. But Liz on Watch What Happens Live
- 21:23Speaker 1: was trying to tell Andy. It was like if you
- 21:25Speaker 1: just all of a sudden were like I was never
- 21:28Speaker 1: I was never gay. I've always been straight. I would
- 21:30Speaker 1: be like you would never straight. You know. She's like
- 21:33Speaker 1: I was trying to get you to da, I just
- 21:35Speaker 1: feel the wrong word. You know, it went on too long.
- 21:38Speaker 2: It's like, why do you care? Just make a joke
- 21:41Speaker 2: like she's she's as almost as I am. Like without
- 21:46Speaker 2: plastic surgery or something, I don't know, she could have
- 21:48Speaker 2: like just let it go.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Yeah, and then Joellen and then Liz. You know, we're
- 21:53Speaker 1: having this argument which went on for too long. I
- 21:57Speaker 1: love Joellen. I like to look at it.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Very pretty.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Ashley, I because I'm not in the Bachelor Nation, and
- 22:08Speaker 1: you know, I just know her name and her husband.
- 22:12Speaker 1: They look so much alike. She and her husband. They
- 22:14Speaker 1: both have such angry Yeah. They're beautiful people.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Beautiful people, and she's very nice. She was the first
- 22:21Speaker 2: guest I ever had on my podcast.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Stop it is that true?
- 22:24Speaker 2: True?
- 22:25Speaker 1: The first guest ever? Uh huh, look at that. That's
- 22:29Speaker 1: a little Kate Casey history.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Yeah, she's the same then and she is now totally
- 22:34Speaker 2: the same person.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Rosie. I don't really have an opinion on I did think.
- 22:39Speaker 1: I did think her husband didn't do a Frank Sinatra impression.
- 22:44Speaker 1: He was just singing.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Probably, but he's probably had a dream like he's
- 22:48Speaker 2: you know, you don't have a lot of opportunity in
- 22:50Speaker 2: the state of Rhode Island. I'm sure, so good for him,
- 22:52Speaker 2: God bless make it happen.
- 22:54Speaker 1: You can.
- 22:55Speaker 2: You know what he'll probably do. And I would recommend
- 22:58Speaker 2: this to him. America's got talent, go for it, try
- 23:00Speaker 2: it out. Oh, not a bad not a bad idea.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Let's see D D D to D. Okay, that's it
- 23:07Speaker 1: for Rhode Island, I think, because next week is the finale,
- 23:09Speaker 1: and that's exciting. Okay, let's talk about Atlanta. Are you
- 23:13Speaker 1: caught up on Atlanta? Are you watching it?
- 23:15Speaker 2: I haven't watched any of Atlanta, and I know I
- 23:18Speaker 2: keep meaning too, but then it's like, just when I
- 23:20Speaker 2: am about to that, I have like a four season
- 23:24Speaker 2: documentary I've got to watch, so I'm totally behind.
- 23:28Speaker 1: It's a really good season, I think, Oh good, Yeah,
- 23:30Speaker 1: it's a really good season. The New People, Pinky and
- 23:34Speaker 1: ca Michelle. At first I didn't like k Michelle. I
- 23:36Speaker 1: found her to be sort of over the top and
- 23:38Speaker 1: performative and bug. But I've really she's really grown on
- 23:42Speaker 1: me and I really like this new girl Pinky And
- 23:45Speaker 1: we got to see this week. We got to see
- 23:46Speaker 1: Cynthia's boyfriend whose name is Prince, and I don't know
- 23:50Speaker 1: where he's from. He I think he's African. Let's see.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Let's look about Cynthia Bailey.
- 23:58Speaker 2: At the Burden of Cynthia. She so gorgeous. I feel
- 24:02Speaker 2: like a man would feel. I don't know, dudes, but like,
- 24:06Speaker 2: I feel like you gotta be real good looking to
- 24:09Speaker 2: be with her.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Well, he's nineteen years younger and his name, his name
- 24:13Speaker 1: was La Prince. What she was calling him Prince. He's
- 24:15Speaker 1: an Amsterdam based musician.
- 24:19Speaker 2: And j yeah, okay, good for you.
- 24:23Speaker 1: They talked at some point. He said something at some
- 24:25Speaker 1: point and they put underneath he was speaking in Dutch.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Very hot, but he's got like giant dreadlocks. He does
- 24:33Speaker 1: DJ with reggaetronics dance music, reggae.
- 24:38Speaker 2: He plays soccer. Soccer is very big there football. I
- 24:42Speaker 2: don't know. Don't make me look up his history. Wad
- 24:44Speaker 2: where does she meet him? This is like, this is
- 24:46Speaker 2: this love story for the ages.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Okay, I'll tell you I'll tell you are okay, and
- 24:51Speaker 1: this is the names of all these people are not
- 24:53Speaker 1: going to come to me, and that's why I have
- 24:55Speaker 1: you here. I had Christa Rosa on to talk about
- 24:58Speaker 1: this documentary that was about the Princess of Norway marrying
- 25:03Speaker 1: that scammy, scamming guy.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Yeah, total scammer yep.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Okay. So the two of them got who was like gay?
- 25:10Speaker 1: It's not like I mean he was gay, and then
- 25:12Speaker 1: he said, oh, I just happened to fall in love
- 25:13Speaker 1: with this Princess of Norway and she was very into
- 25:18Speaker 1: like mystical healing and all this weird stuff.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 25:22Speaker 1: So they had this wedding.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Vanity Fair article on that side note people could go
- 25:26Speaker 2: back and read that was that was a good one.
- 25:28Speaker 1: So there was a there was a whole documentaryund it.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Christop Rosa came on to discuss it with me, and
- 25:33Speaker 1: at the wedding, Chris completely missed it that Sonya and
- 25:37Speaker 1: Cynthia were there.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Oh oh yeah, because he was like a social like
- 25:42Speaker 2: drifter or too.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Yes. So my understanding from back in the day when
- 25:47Speaker 1: I used to listen to Jeff Lewis, Cynthia had been
- 25:50Speaker 1: at that wedding and either she met that guy there
- 25:53Speaker 1: or they first started dating. But I think she met
- 25:55Speaker 1: that guy at the wedding.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Oh I got to get to the bottom of that.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, but I remember Santy Chris. I was like,
- 26:02Speaker 1: Sonya and Cynthia were definitely paid to be at that wedding,
- 26:05Speaker 1: and he was like probably, yeah, God that.
- 26:08Speaker 2: I feel like that's that's a job for me. I'd
- 26:11Speaker 2: like to be paid to go to a wedding because
- 26:13Speaker 2: I do like a wedding, especially if I'm able to
- 26:15Speaker 2: like be the center of the dance floor, like I'll go.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I want to go to an Indian wedding in India,
- 26:21Speaker 1: but I don't. I would like to go to that too.
- 26:23Speaker 1: I need like a high brow, bougie like four day event.
- 26:26Speaker 2: I mean, I would love that too. Although the costume
- 26:29Speaker 2: shows on India yes, gorgeous and Dubai Dubai's Great weddings too.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm obsessed. And I met a guy when I
- 26:37Speaker 1: was on this work trip with my husband in Paris,
- 26:39Speaker 1: and he was you know, it's all DC people and
- 26:43Speaker 1: he was from like Washington State and his wife. His
- 26:49Speaker 1: wife was finishing up a fellowship. We were talking about that.
- 26:54Speaker 1: She was a doctor, and they were getting married the
- 26:56Speaker 1: next summer and they were getting doing an American wedding
- 26:59Speaker 1: and an Indian wedding. And I was like, well, you know,
- 27:01Speaker 1: my dream is to go to an Indian wedding. Why
- 27:03Speaker 1: would he know that he just met me. He's like, well,
- 27:06Speaker 1: I mean you can come. I was like, no, No,
- 27:10Speaker 1: My husband's like, she's obsessed with going to an Indian
- 27:13Speaker 1: wedding because she wants to wear the outfits, she wants
- 27:16Speaker 1: to do the hennah, she wants to go to all
- 27:18Speaker 1: the different events.
- 27:19Speaker 2: And he's like, yeah, we're having one of those. He's like,
- 27:21Speaker 2: no elephants though, no elephants. We need to find somebody
- 27:24Speaker 2: who has elephants, because it's like we're going to go.
- 27:27Speaker 2: We're going to go all out right.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I gotta do the Kardashians.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I gotta get like on their list, serve like maybe
- 27:34Speaker 2: if they don't want to go to something like, we'll
- 27:35Speaker 2: get the discount rate and we'll go for them as
- 27:37Speaker 2: ambassadors to Kardashian and world.
- 27:40Speaker 1: A listener did write me and said that there are
- 27:43Speaker 1: these big, huge, fancy Indian weddings in India and they
- 27:46Speaker 1: are paying people to like come. I was like, how
- 27:50Speaker 1: do I get on that list serve.
- 27:52Speaker 2: No kidding, Yeah, He's like, yeah, I want to get
- 27:55Speaker 2: on the list serve where I could just get paid
- 27:57Speaker 2: to do things that I really already enjoy, right, like
- 28:00Speaker 2: a wedding, Like a wedding or just like drinks like something,
- 28:05Speaker 2: appetizers on a duffy boat, like, okay, let's do it.
- 28:08Speaker 1: I don't get anybody into ship.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I keep telling Gibson every time gibbson John's goes something
- 28:15Speaker 1: to New York, I'm like, I'm right here and you
- 28:19Speaker 1: see three hour train ride.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Brother the like crazy weddings.
- 28:25Speaker 1: I just got of everything, like I'm around, I can
- 28:30Speaker 1: go my kids.
- 28:31Speaker 2: I know.
- 28:31Speaker 1: I think people just assume we won't go, assume i'll go,
- 28:35Speaker 1: Assume I'll go to anything.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I had a manager say that to me. She was like, oh,
- 28:38Speaker 2: I just thought you like don't want to go to events.
- 28:41Speaker 2: I was like, no, I'll go. I just I'm I'm
- 28:43Speaker 2: the girl at school that can't get a prom date,
- 28:47Speaker 2: Like who's left?
- 28:49Speaker 1: Will they ask me? Okay, so I will say that
- 28:54Speaker 1: Cynthia's new man is interesting about it. Atlanta and Angela
- 28:57Speaker 1: Oakley is just really coming into it this season she's
- 29:00Speaker 1: very funny. I really like her very very quick.
- 29:04Speaker 2: I feel like what I like about her and this
- 29:06Speaker 2: I haven't even watched the season yet, but I what
- 29:08Speaker 2: I like her about her is I get the feeling
- 29:10Speaker 2: like she's had a life well lived, like a lot
- 29:12Speaker 2: of like a lot of stuff has happened. She's like
- 29:15Speaker 2: the interesting person to sit with it at dinner party.
- 29:18Speaker 1: It's funny. This week, she was talking about her husband
- 29:20Speaker 1: and Shemia saying, Samia always says she sees my husband
- 29:24Speaker 1: outside of the house, but when he's outside of the house,
- 29:26Speaker 1: you know who he sees Shemia so da da da da.
- 29:29Speaker 1: So I've heard she says he keept. She said, when
- 29:30Speaker 1: my husband's outside of the house. I was like, is
- 29:34Speaker 1: he not allowed to leave the house? Like she keeps
- 29:36Speaker 1: saying she sees my husband outside and when she sees
- 29:39Speaker 1: my husband outside of my house. I was like, it
- 29:41Speaker 1: was just the hilarious the way she was talking about it.
- 29:43Speaker 2: By the way, Shemiah's husband owns an HVAC company too,
- 29:46Speaker 2: doesn't he.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Uh, but he's like does airports and stuff.
- 29:51Speaker 2: I know again, let's go back to each fact. Like
- 29:53Speaker 2: I think that's the place to be watch What Happens Live.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Rosie was on there with Shemiah and Andy said to Rosie,
- 30:02Speaker 1: you're looking at the HVAC Queen of Rhode Island. Rosie,
- 30:09Speaker 1: it went over her head. She's like, why it's not
- 30:11Speaker 1: an h FAC. She's like, no, she MEA's husband owns
- 30:14Speaker 1: every HPAC thing in the state of Rhode Island.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Dumb. Yeah, she could have gotten some sort of deal.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Rosie's like huh. She is like, Oh, I can't deal
- 30:22Speaker 2: dumb people. I gotta go their house. Y'all.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Summer is here and this is when I flip my
- 30:30Speaker 1: closet around. I flip it around every summer, and I
- 30:33Speaker 1: always stop and go through things and think what am
- 30:35Speaker 1: I really wearing and what am I not wearing. What
- 30:38Speaker 1: I constantly reach for are the lighter fabrics, the better materials,
- 30:42Speaker 1: pieces that just feel good the moment you put them on,
- 30:45Speaker 1: their effortless. That's where Quint's comes in. Quin focuses on

- 32:25Speaker 2: You know, have I talked to on the phone two
- 32:26Speaker 2: days ago.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I can't get screeners.
- 32:28Speaker 2: What who? Yeah, I know, pase uh Lacy? Oh?
- 32:32Speaker 1: Interesting?
- 32:33Speaker 2: Why we have a friend in common and so my
- 32:36Speaker 2: friend Evelyn said, I think that you'd really like her.
- 32:38Speaker 2: So yeah, chat out with her for a little bit.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Yeah, is she gonna come on the show?
- 32:42Speaker 2: I think she is. She lives in your area, right,
- 32:44Speaker 2: she lives very close and we know a lot of
- 32:46Speaker 2: friends in common.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Okay, that's all right. Interesting, Well that's good. Well, Valley,
- 32:53Speaker 1: I'm so obsessed with Danny's situation, and you and I
- 32:58Speaker 1: have discussed this ad nauseum. But this past week, which
- 33:01Speaker 1: would have been not this episode that was out Wednesday night,
- 33:05Speaker 1: because again I don't get screeners. This particular episode of
- 33:08Speaker 1: this podcast comes out on Thursdays. But last week again
- 33:12Speaker 1: him saying I'm not drinking, I'm having water, and they
- 33:15Speaker 1: show him in the kitchen pouring Tito's into us cup.
- 33:19Speaker 1: And then at the other event, I'm not drinking. Da
- 33:21Speaker 1: da da da. And they show him with a white
- 33:23Speaker 1: claw walking around and going hiding in the gym to drink.
- 33:27Speaker 2: It just makes me feel sad.
- 33:30Speaker 1: So you know, Nia can't avoid she can't ignore this evidence, right,
- 33:35Speaker 1: the evidence being like, yes, he does drink, but everybody
- 33:38Speaker 1: else drinks and does crazy things too, which is a
- 33:40Speaker 1: fantastic point. But the point that they're trying to make
- 33:45Speaker 1: is he's lying to your face about it, right. It's
- 33:48Speaker 1: a little bit like Rula and her husband, like here
- 33:51Speaker 1: is video evidence, but just the.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Same, I don't think Nia cares. I think she's so
- 33:56Speaker 2: committed to like, what if there are problems, we will
- 33:59Speaker 2: discuss this off camera with our therapist, which again, you
- 34:02Speaker 2: shouldn't got a reality show then sorry.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Right, uh huh yeah. I think he's gonna have a
- 34:07Speaker 1: lot to answer for with the reunion because.
- 34:09Speaker 2: He's going to be on a beta blocker, that one's
- 34:11Speaker 2: gonna be on a baby.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Oh he's gonna he's gonna be on all the things.
- 34:15Speaker 1: But for him to be so like, oh, everybody else
- 34:19Speaker 1: can do it and I can't. And then it was
- 34:21Speaker 1: interesting too. He sits down with Jesse and Schwartz and
- 34:25Speaker 1: Jesse's like, you can do whatever you want around me. Man,
- 34:27Speaker 1: Like it's fine, right, because you're not a woman that
- 34:29Speaker 1: he's grossing. Right, I'm sure it's fun for you, but
- 34:33Speaker 1: he's not a fun drunk. He's not He's not fun.
- 34:36Speaker 1: He was being so gross at that dinner they went
- 34:38Speaker 1: to and they were out of town wherever they were,
- 34:40Speaker 1: San Diego, and he was looking at Michelle and goes,
- 34:44Speaker 1: duncan no, Kai's junk. I was like, you can't even speak,
- 34:48Speaker 1: there's lurring so bad.
- 34:51Speaker 2: And you know, I have a theory. Well, I think
- 34:55Speaker 2: he reminds me of Tom Cruise. They're Tom Cruise and
- 34:58Speaker 2: Kenny Holmes, Like she's just like got to play the part.
- 35:01Speaker 2: And he's I think he's very actually very religious. I
- 35:05Speaker 2: know that his father and grandfather are heavily involved in
- 35:08Speaker 2: the family church, and people have done investigations on things
- 35:13Speaker 2: that have happened and like connected to the church. And yeah,
- 35:17Speaker 2: he's a part of a megachurch. That doesn't mean people
- 35:20Speaker 2: in megachurches are, you know, terrible. It's just I think
- 35:26Speaker 2: that the combination of like growing up in a home
- 35:30Speaker 2: with very strict set of rules and then you come
- 35:35Speaker 2: out west and you marry somebody who was in the
- 35:38Speaker 2: pageant world, and it's all about like maintaining the image.
- 35:43Speaker 2: That to me is very, very worrisome. It is, And
- 35:48Speaker 2: I think he's gonna end up be a preacher. By
- 35:50Speaker 2: the way, I'm going to say five year he's gonna
- 35:52Speaker 2: go off TV. It'll be a preacher.
- 35:53Speaker 1: I know you've said that. I can't in any possible
- 35:58Speaker 1: way or form see that before me. Now, yes he is,
- 36:04Speaker 1: he is, and he's I want to say that her
- 36:07Speaker 1: to be like, well, he'd had too many drinks and
- 36:10Speaker 1: I didn't like the way he talked to me. Okay,
- 36:11Speaker 1: well you guys were at the theme park and he
- 36:14Speaker 1: was speaking to you rudely. Did he have too many drinks? Then?
- 36:17Speaker 1: And we saw him of his loves a white claw.
- 36:22Speaker 1: That man loves a white claw.
- 36:25Speaker 2: I had a white claw sip one day and I
- 36:29Speaker 2: didn't feel like it was anything delicious, Like it's gasoline adjacent. No,
- 36:36Speaker 2: what it is.
- 36:37Speaker 1: It's what people don't know understand about White Claus is
- 36:40Speaker 1: white claw is still like a malt liquor product. So
- 36:43Speaker 1: it is still going to give you the same effect
- 36:47Speaker 1: of like a beer. Right high dunes are or there's
- 36:52Speaker 1: another one of my kids like called something like Sunrise
- 36:55Speaker 1: or something surf side, surf side, okay, hens and surf
- 36:59Speaker 1: such a vodka based products. So like a high noon
- 37:02Speaker 1: is going to be like a like a vodka cran basically,
- 37:05Speaker 1: and that's the better way to go.
- 37:07Speaker 2: But like one you would get at a bar. Yeah, yeah,
- 37:10Speaker 2: so somebody could be having like ten of those, yes,
- 37:13Speaker 2: but it's not the same of having like a vodka
- 37:16Speaker 2: cranberry at a bar, like ten of them.
- 37:19Speaker 1: No, I don't think so. I don't think the alcohol
- 37:22Speaker 1: content is that. I don't think it's like a full
- 37:23Speaker 1: SHOT's worth of vodka in each high noons.
- 37:26Speaker 2: I'm just trying to gauge like how much alcohol we're talking,
- 37:30Speaker 2: you know.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I would imagine that because people say, like if
- 37:35Speaker 1: you get a mixed drink or a glass of wine
- 37:38Speaker 1: or a beer, it's all the same amount of alcohol.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Oh okay, but it probably also depends on twelve ounce
- 37:44Speaker 1: of this, eight ounce of that, you know whatever. But
- 37:48Speaker 1: it's interesting that he loves a white cloth so much.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I think it's I think it's hilarious that they keep
- 37:52Speaker 1: showing him with a white clause and then on this
- 37:54Speaker 1: episode last week when when Jasmine found that white claw
- 38:01Speaker 1: in the bathroom. It's like, why is this white claw
- 38:03Speaker 1: in your gym bathroom? And they show him going up
- 38:06Speaker 1: with it like he's hiding it, and he's pouring vodka
- 38:12Speaker 1: into a water glass, saying out loud he's drinking water
- 38:15Speaker 1: and then looking over at the camera to see if
- 38:17Speaker 1: the camera season like it's all bad.
- 38:18Speaker 2: This just makes me very sad, it's all bad.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Yeah, it makes me real triggered, real trigger. That whole
- 38:27Speaker 1: drinking tequila in the closet, you know, and he's always
- 38:29Speaker 1: got an excuse, always got an excuse. Everybody else if
- 38:32Speaker 1: they're drinking, they're just like, okay, well you know, uh
- 38:35Speaker 1: Luke was drunk or Kristin was drunk or they you know.
- 38:38Speaker 1: But he's very specifically hiding. I'm kind of obsessed with
- 38:44Speaker 1: what I'm going to find out this week, like every
- 38:45Speaker 1: week it's something new.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Yeah, because it feels like a true grind doc.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yes it does. Are you interested at all in
- 38:53Speaker 1: anyone else's storyline? I'm interested to know if Michelle is
- 38:56Speaker 1: actually going out.
- 38:57Speaker 2: With doctor Dre That I'm interested in. And I like
- 39:00Speaker 2: Laala and Michelle's friendship. I think that's good they both
- 39:04Speaker 2: need a good friend.
- 39:06Speaker 1: I agree.
- 39:08Speaker 2: I just think Luke and Kristen's support of Nia and
- 39:15Speaker 2: Danny is just very I'm like, are they trying to
- 39:17Speaker 2: be members of the Mega Church? Like, I don't know,
- 39:19Speaker 2: that's kind of weird, but that the show is also
- 39:21Speaker 2: weird too, like their loyalties, like Channon and Jason seem
- 39:25Speaker 2: to be like really supportive of Jack's and I never
- 39:28Speaker 2: really understood that, So I don't know, they're all kind
- 39:31Speaker 2: of weird. I have liked highlighting postpartum because I think
- 39:34Speaker 2: that's important. I agree.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Yes, people are like the show is so dark and boring,
- 39:38Speaker 1: and I'm like, I'm that's life, man, this is life
- 39:41Speaker 1: in your thirties. This is where you are when you
- 39:44Speaker 1: have little kids.
- 39:45Speaker 2: This is right.
- 39:46Speaker 1: It is dark and depressing, but you get through it.
- 39:49Speaker 1: But this is what they're doing. They're dealing with little
- 39:51Speaker 1: little kids.
- 39:53Speaker 2: I do think that maybe Luke is the father of
- 39:55Speaker 2: Lalla's baby, and I don't know if that's a good thing.
- 39:58Speaker 1: We've got to find out how she find that out.
- 40:00Speaker 1: I did hear a rumor that they like reveal it
- 40:03Speaker 1: at the reunion or something stupid like that, that they
- 40:06Speaker 1: that they that that's not Luke, you are not the father.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, okay, good well if I if, I hope
- 40:12Speaker 2: if that happens, like that can happen, because I will,
- 40:14Speaker 2: I will. I'm sitting on that.
- 40:16Speaker 1: I would. I will release that footage. And I did
- 40:20Speaker 1: see Andy Cohen say after the Summerhouse Reunion that it
- 40:23Speaker 1: was Jennifer Lawrence that figured out who the person was
- 40:26Speaker 1: that leaks the audio from the Summerhouse reunion.
- 40:29Speaker 2: How would she know? I don't understand that. Maybe she
- 40:31Speaker 2: knows the makeup person or something.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, interesting right.
- 40:35Speaker 2: I was like, she must have been like, oh, I
- 40:37Speaker 2: talked to this makeup person who did my makeup and
- 40:39Speaker 2: then they told me that so and so sent it
- 40:41Speaker 2: to so and so. Yeah, it must be like that.
- 40:44Speaker 1: It must be like that. It's crazy.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Do you think that Lawrence listens to Bravo podcasts?
- 40:50Speaker 1: Uh? Well, I mean I don't know. She probably yeah,
- 40:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna say yeah, not this one, but probably.
- 40:57Speaker 2: If she's like a mix Bravo super fan, I don't think. Yeah.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Okay, before we started, she said, you had a story
- 41:03Speaker 1: you wanted to tell you?
- 41:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, okay, this is crazy. Okay. So I did
- 41:07Speaker 2: an episode like two weeks ago for Saturday series episode
- 41:09Speaker 2: where I was asking Jonathan Mark about like some houses
- 41:13Speaker 2: that I've lived in, including my mom's house, which I
- 41:15Speaker 2: didn't live in my mom grew up in, about like
- 41:17Speaker 2: like who was honking them anyway? I did the episode
- 41:21Speaker 2: and Alie sends me a DM. She goes, oh my god,
- 41:24Speaker 2: you mentioned I didn't realize like you lived grew up
- 41:26Speaker 2: close to where we're from. Uh, we totally know my
- 41:29Speaker 2: sister's and I totally know the house that your mom
- 41:31Speaker 2: grew up in, and we which house on Fenerton Road
- 41:34Speaker 2: And I said one O two and she's like, oh
- 41:35Speaker 2: my god, I used to smoke. We'd at that house.
- 41:38Speaker 2: And in the episode to talk about I saw a
- 41:40Speaker 2: woman in the old woman in the third floor window,
- 41:43Speaker 2: and I walked outside and I asked my mom, like,
- 41:45Speaker 2: who's the old woman upstairs? My mom was like, I
- 41:47Speaker 2: don't know what you're talking about. Scary.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 41:49Speaker 2: I like totally know that house and I'm like, oh,
- 41:51Speaker 2: the basement. I would never go in it. She's like, yeah,
- 41:53Speaker 2: basement was weird. And then she also knew my mom's
- 41:58Speaker 2: childhood home and as why we were dming before this started.
- 42:05Speaker 2: She noted that the family that now lives in the house,
- 42:08Speaker 2: and there's gonna be a second part that we're gonna
- 42:10Speaker 2: have to do this, but tell me everything serious because
- 42:13Speaker 2: it ties to a story that I've never been able
- 42:15Speaker 2: to figure out about someone in my family that last
- 42:19Speaker 2: name matched. And I said to has that family lived
- 42:21Speaker 2: in that street before they bought that house? And she
- 42:23Speaker 2: said yes. So I think I may finally crack the
- 42:26Speaker 2: code on like a family secret.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Oh, I love a family secret.
- 42:30Speaker 2: I love a family secret too. I love it, and
- 42:35Speaker 2: I'd like other people's secrets. Like if someone's like, oh,
- 42:38Speaker 2: I've just got this weird family thing going on, I'm like,
- 42:40Speaker 2: I will cancel meetings to come and listen to you
- 42:43Speaker 2: and talk to you about your family secrets.
- 42:44Speaker 1: I am very also, very obsessed with bad mother in
- 42:48Speaker 1: law stories.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Oh there was a fun yes, yes, yeah, I.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Love that mother in law story. I didn't have a
- 42:53Speaker 1: bad mother in law and neither did you.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Oh no, my first time I did.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Oh well, I forgot she had the first one seconds.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Yeah, uh she he did me and I did not
- 43:05Speaker 2: enjoy her. She was terrible.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, I love those stories. I think they're fascinating.
- 43:13Speaker 1: Some of us, like, I just had a conversation with
- 43:16Speaker 1: my son recently, like in the last week, talking about
- 43:20Speaker 1: something with his girlfriend. And I said, well, I don't
- 43:22Speaker 1: want to text her. I don't want to overstep or whatever.
- 43:24Speaker 1: He goes, Mom, who cares, you Just text her and
- 43:25Speaker 1: ask her. It's about her, the girl's trip, she's coming
- 43:27Speaker 1: here to visit us. I was like, well, I don't
- 43:29Speaker 1: want to bug you know, she's got her own parents
- 43:31Speaker 1: that can buger about it.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 43:34Speaker 1: He goes, Oh, you could, you could text her? And
- 43:35Speaker 1: I said, John, let me tell you what. I'm cool
- 43:40Speaker 1: and I'm dipping in when I'm needed. I'm dipping out
- 43:44Speaker 1: when not needed. When it comes to you and any girl,
- 43:46Speaker 1: because we will not have the situation where you get
- 43:51Speaker 1: married to somebody and have kids and I'm not included.
- 43:55Speaker 1: It is gonna be fifty to fifty equal time. It
- 43:57Speaker 1: happens a lot. Yeah, where when your son gets married
- 44:02Speaker 1: they ditch you. And I said, oh, man, that's gonna
- 44:05Speaker 1: hurt and it's not gonna happen. And he's like, Mom,
- 44:08Speaker 1: I would never do that to you. I I don't
- 44:10Speaker 1: know the power.
- 44:12Speaker 2: I've cut those conversations with Jack too. He's only fourteen,
- 44:15Speaker 2: who's going to high school? What? I go, what what
- 44:17Speaker 2: are you going to do if this broad doesn't like me?
- 44:20Speaker 2: And he's like, why would I marry somebody who doesn't
- 44:22Speaker 2: like you? I go, you're gonna be surprised.
- 44:24Speaker 1: It happens all the time.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Now.
- 44:27Speaker 1: I ingratiate myself like it's a total kiss off and
- 44:30Speaker 1: try to get whoever John has ever dated to like
- 44:33Speaker 1: me and the current girlfriend likes me just fine. But
- 44:37Speaker 1: I you know, I was just telling him.
- 44:38Speaker 2: I was like, I.
- 44:39Speaker 1: I was like, I don't, I don't know if you'll
- 44:41Speaker 1: marry this girl. You're very young, baby, you will, but
- 44:43Speaker 1: I got I gotta, I gotta lay the foundation that
- 44:45Speaker 1: I'm cool, I'm chill, I'm not bugging, just as involved
- 44:50Speaker 1: as you want me to be. I was like, because
- 44:52Speaker 1: you can't go and get married and move some very
- 44:54Speaker 1: very far away from me and not let me see
- 44:56Speaker 1: my grandchildren.
- 44:58Speaker 2: I watched this girl's video on TikTok and wish I
- 45:00Speaker 2: could find it, and she did a really good job,
- 45:01Speaker 2: and people at first wear hating on her because she's like, listen,
- 45:04Speaker 2: I have one of the greatest mother in laws in history,
- 45:08Speaker 2: and I'm going to tell you why, and people, you
- 45:10Speaker 2: know obviously were like, oh, happy for you, you know,
- 45:13Speaker 2: but she was very informative. She said, here's why, and
- 45:15Speaker 2: it was basically like she, you know, she'll come over
- 45:21Speaker 2: to watch my kids, and she never criticizes the way
- 45:23Speaker 2: I parent. She you know, she like adheres to anything
- 45:27Speaker 2: that I ask, you know, she never goes off script.
- 45:30Speaker 2: She respects the things that I ask. She if she
- 45:35Speaker 2: comes over, she always gives us fair, fair, you know, warning.
- 45:39Speaker 2: She makes sure that I always have great gifts at
- 45:42Speaker 2: the holidays. It was like all these little things and
- 45:45Speaker 2: I was like, oh, this is really helpful. Yes, this
- 45:49Speaker 2: is fit.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Yes girl, yeah, yeah, I did I do that. I
- 45:54Speaker 1: think that's why I love a bad mother in law story.
- 45:56Speaker 1: And by the way, neither one of my sisters have
- 45:58Speaker 1: bad mother in laws eat, but you know, they also
- 46:01Speaker 1: have kids that are now grown up and having kids,
- 46:04Speaker 1: and all of those experiences swing wildly with like being
- 46:08Speaker 1: included or not being included. And I'm like, I'm watching
- 46:13Speaker 1: and learning from everybody I know. Like I've told John,
- 46:16Speaker 1: it's not gonna happen. I'll move next door if I
- 46:19Speaker 1: have to, and I don't want to have to.
- 46:22Speaker 2: I don't want to have to do that. You've had
- 46:23Speaker 2: a lot of luck because you really, you know, you
- 46:25Speaker 2: really like his girlfriends, so that's really good.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I do like her a lot.
- 46:29Speaker 2: So by the way, I've got to I've got to
- 46:31Speaker 2: start figuring out what we're gonna do for the fall
- 46:33Speaker 2: visiting Almoss.
- 46:35Speaker 1: I know, Dave literally, my husband just asked me last night.
- 46:38Speaker 1: He said, uh, Kate's daughter is going to come and
- 46:41Speaker 1: look at all. Miss I said, yeah, I said, we
- 46:43Speaker 1: got to. He goes, well, she knows that she can't
- 46:45Speaker 1: come on a football game weekend because they'll never get
- 46:48Speaker 1: a place to stay.
- 46:48Speaker 2: I know, I know we might not be able to
- 46:50Speaker 2: go on a football weekend, but it doesn't really matter.
- 46:53Speaker 2: We still get the feel of it.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Ready, Yeah, you just look at the feel of it,
- 46:56Speaker 1: and a football game weekend is super fun. But you know,
- 46:59Speaker 1: do you want to spend ten thousand dollars on an
- 47:02Speaker 1: airbnb for two nights?
- 47:03Speaker 2: Probably? Not? Right?
- 47:04Speaker 1: Crazy?
- 47:05Speaker 2: Yeah and crazy, And there'll be plenty of time to
- 47:08Speaker 2: enjoy the football games. And it's not like we don't
- 47:10Speaker 2: have a great football team, so we'll just figure out.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Probably the game, like when they have an away game,
- 47:15Speaker 2: our team goes to like Las Vegas and Hawaii and
- 47:17Speaker 2: all these crazy places. So we'll just do it like
- 47:19Speaker 2: when they're away, and then she doesn't miss.
- 47:20Speaker 1: The game, right because she can't miss her games because
- 47:23Speaker 1: she's on the dance squad, dance team.
- 47:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it's called song song, which is really very confusing.
- 47:31Speaker 2: It's called it's called dance song or just called just
- 47:33Speaker 2: called song. It's like a song leader. It's short for
- 47:36Speaker 2: song leader, which is like I think a term that
- 47:38Speaker 2: probably came from the South and then the Northeast, like
- 47:43Speaker 2: when you know, like George Bush, remember he was like
- 47:45Speaker 2: a cheerleader song leader with the big megaphone, like, yes,
- 47:48Speaker 2: that was my dad. I think it maybe originates from
- 47:51Speaker 2: those those early days. But song basically is a hybrid
- 47:54Speaker 2: of cheer and dance. So I think like a Laker.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Girl love it. I love it. The sororities love a
- 48:03Speaker 1: girl that can dance and put together a routine.
- 48:05Speaker 2: To tell you that much, can I just tell you
- 48:08Speaker 2: one last thing. There's this girl that was sort of
- 48:09Speaker 2: like a just not my favorite girl, and she is
- 48:14Speaker 2: a year ahead, and.
- 48:15Speaker 1: She's she's a person in your daughter's age or a
- 48:20Speaker 1: person she was your age and me and old.
- 48:23Speaker 2: You're like yeah, I like, I want to go to
- 48:26Speaker 2: Ole miss you know, and the girl be like, oh,
- 48:28Speaker 2: why wan't you go there? And guess where that girl's going.
- 48:31Speaker 1: It's all miss Yeah, We'll make sure to give you
- 48:33Speaker 1: your name and a blackballer just kidding.
- 48:36Speaker 2: You think I didn't think of that already, but I
- 48:38Speaker 2: just okay now and changing your tune. Okay, okay.
- 48:44Speaker 1: It's a great college.
- 48:45Speaker 2: She's very pumped. She started. She started a by the
- 48:49Speaker 2: way sub stack with her photography. Yesterday she went to
- 48:51Speaker 2: the wedge. They were like twenty foot waves. She took
- 48:53Speaker 2: beautiful surfing photos like brilliant nice Mia did mea did? Yeah? Good?
- 48:58Speaker 2: That's cool. Yeah, y'all.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Sometimes when I go to put on actuable makeup, when
- 49:04Speaker 1: I'm leaving the house and trying to look human, I
- 49:06Speaker 1: realize I have way too many products. And then I
- 49:09Speaker 1: try some of these products I have, and I realize
- 49:11Speaker 1: these beauty products are not made for ladies of a
- 49:14Speaker 1: certain age, and I end up looking like I put
- 49:16Speaker 1: spackle on my face. But ever since I started using
- 49:19Speaker 1: Jones Road Miracle Bomb, my routine is simplified and I
- 49:23Speaker 1: don't look like I painted my face with a spackle brush.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Miracle Bomb has replaced several steps for me because you
- 49:29Speaker 1: can use it as a highlighter, a bronzer, a blush,
- 49:32Speaker 1: and a lip tint. I keep my little pot a
- 49:34Speaker 1: Miracle Bomb right next to me when I'm recording because
- 49:37Speaker 1: sometimes I need a little bit of color on my
- 49:38Speaker 1: cheeks and definitely on my lips. And I want to
- 49:41Speaker 1: tell you about jones Roads new product that you also
- 49:44Speaker 1: need to try, and it's the foundation stick. There are
- 49:47Speaker 1: sometimes when you need a little more coverage, like are
- 49:50Speaker 1: you going out for a date night? Are you going
- 49:52Speaker 1: out for a girls' night? But you also don't want
- 49:54Speaker 1: to go back to that full, complicated makeup routine. So
- 49:58Speaker 1: it's a foundation stick that even foundation stick skeptics will love.
- 50:02Speaker 1: It delivers buildable, real coverage while feeling completely weightless on
- 50:07Speaker 1: your skin, which is what I need. I cannot stand
- 50:09Speaker 1: feeling like I have a layer of something on my face.
- 50:12Speaker 1: The foundation stick gives you medium to full coverage without
- 50:15Speaker 1: ever looking caked on. It's dermatologists tested and packed with
- 50:19Speaker 1: skin loving ingredients like seramides to nourish while you wear it,
- 50:24Speaker 1: and the finish is really really natural, which is what
- 50:26Speaker 1: I love. I love, I love not to Matt, but
- 50:29Speaker 1: not to Doy because you know I'm not twenty and
- 50:32Speaker 1: it's available in thirty shades to match a wide range
- 50:35Speaker 1: of skin tones, modern day makeup that's clean, strategic, and
- 50:40Speaker 1: multifunctional for effortless routines. For a limited time, our listeners

- 51:01Speaker 1: tell them that we sent you. You guys. This last year,
- 51:08Speaker 1: Kate and I had a was it last year? It
- 51:11Speaker 1: was like December January?
- 51:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like the winter.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Yeah. We had a spinoff podcast called tell Me Everything,
- 51:17Speaker 1: and you could find it on both of our Patreon
- 51:20Speaker 1: and pay fees. You could find its same content both places,
- 51:22Speaker 1: so if you subscribe to hers or mine, you would
- 51:24Speaker 1: find it. And the point was for us just to
- 51:28Speaker 1: tell each other stories like we do on the phone.
- 51:32Speaker 1: And people loved it, and so I said it would
- 51:35Speaker 1: come back this summer, but we haven't done it.
- 51:38Speaker 2: Yeah, we need to do it. We need to do it.
- 51:40Speaker 2: We need to do it. We've got a lot of
- 51:42Speaker 2: stuff simmering over the last couple of weeks months, so
- 51:45Speaker 2: there's a lot to tell.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Also, I want to tell you, face to face how
- 51:49Speaker 1: proud I am a view of your Vanity Fair article.
- 51:52Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 51:53Speaker 1: I was just dying because you know, you and I
- 51:55Speaker 1: and very similar in that Vanity Fair would come and
- 51:59Speaker 1: that's it. I'm sad. I was so excited when Graydon
- 52:03Speaker 1: Carter's book came out, like me too, very very very
- 52:06Speaker 1: into Vanity Fairs. Still still get it paper to this house.
- 52:10Speaker 1: And I was so excited that you got to write
- 52:12Speaker 1: that article and tell everybody like what the article is about.
- 52:16Speaker 2: So it's about the Martha Moxley case, a lifelong obsession
- 52:19Speaker 2: of mine that originated when I was in high school
- 52:22Speaker 2: and my sister started talk to me about it, and
- 52:24Speaker 2: I got a season of Purgatory written by Dominic Dunn,
- 52:27Speaker 2: who then later recovered this murder case extensively for Vanity Fair.
- 52:32Speaker 2: Long story short October thirtieth, nineteen seventy five. A girl
- 52:35Speaker 2: by the name of Martha Moxley leaves her neighbor's house,
- 52:39Speaker 2: the Scahole House, to go home and somewhere along the
- 52:42Speaker 2: way she was murdered and the weapon was a golf club,
- 52:46Speaker 2: and so they traced the golf clubs back to the
- 52:49Speaker 2: Scaho house. And it's notable that the Scaehol kids were
- 52:55Speaker 2: the first cousins of Robert Kennedy's children, so there's a connection.
- 52:59Speaker 2: There's this tony town in Connecticut called Greenwich, and you've
- 53:05Speaker 2: got power and balance because the Moxley famili's only been
- 53:08Speaker 2: in town for two years. They came from California, and
- 53:11Speaker 2: the neighbors have kind of a wild house because rushedn' skaygold.
- 53:15Speaker 2: The father was married to his wife Anne. They had
- 53:18Speaker 2: seven children and dies of breast cancer. No one ever
- 53:21Speaker 2: discusses it. In this very catholic home. Everyone's sort of
- 53:24Speaker 2: running amuck. He's an alcoholic, he's barely running the company well,
- 53:29Speaker 2: and this crime happens. So Dominic Dunn covered the case
- 53:34Speaker 2: extensively for Vanity Fair and there was a trial and
- 53:37Speaker 2: then Michael, one of the boys, went to jail and
- 53:39Speaker 2: then he was released. The case will not be you know,
- 53:41Speaker 2: he will not be retried. So in covering the case
- 53:46Speaker 2: for my own episode, I did two episodes with the
- 53:49Speaker 2: narrator of a podcast series on the case called Dead Certain,
- 53:54Speaker 2: And I kept thinking about the history of the coverage
- 53:56Speaker 2: of the case. All of the prosecutors, the defense, the reporters,
- 54:00Speaker 2: the judge, they were all men. So one of the
- 54:03Speaker 2: pieces of the evidence that was used in the case
- 54:06Speaker 2: were her diary entries. So I revisited all of those
- 54:09Speaker 2: diary entries, which were written in the weeks before she
- 54:11Speaker 2: was murdered, and looking through the lens of the contemporaneous
- 54:16Speaker 2: writings of a fifteen year old girl, because I noticed
- 54:19Speaker 2: when people talked about it, some of the nuances were
- 54:22Speaker 2: missed because of course they were not women. So I
- 54:25Speaker 2: encourage you to go back and read it, because what
- 54:27Speaker 2: I think the standout thing is a lot of the
- 54:30Speaker 2: same issues she was facing, my own mother faced, and
- 54:33Speaker 2: our children are facing about the understanding that we language
- 54:38Speaker 2: that we now have a lot of it due to
- 54:40Speaker 2: true crime documentaries, of course, of like coerceive control and
- 54:43Speaker 2: male entitlement and navigating a world where you're beginning, you know,
- 54:48Speaker 2: you've just come out of puberty and you're coming into
- 54:52Speaker 2: your own and not really being oblivious to boys and
- 54:58Speaker 2: men and when they're unchecked, what could happen and what
- 55:02Speaker 2: did happen. So it's very special to me, and I
- 55:05Speaker 2: hope I can write some more pieces. And my dream,
- 55:08Speaker 2: my dream, dream dream is to sell a series based
- 55:11Speaker 2: on a treatment that I wrote about the case. But
- 55:15Speaker 2: Vinnity Fair was a dream of mine since I was
- 55:16Speaker 2: sixteen years old. So I had this bottles of champagne
- 55:19Speaker 2: that I've kept and I refuse to open it until
- 55:21Speaker 2: something big happened and I so I can finally crack
- 55:25Speaker 2: it open. I've been waiting for my husband to come
- 55:27Speaker 2: home because he was on two business trips, but I,
- 55:28Speaker 2: you know, this weekend, maybe I'll crack it open. You should.
- 55:32Speaker 1: You should be so proud. It's really great. It's really great.
- 55:35Speaker 1: I keep telling you, like, don't forget about me when
- 55:38Speaker 1: you make it back.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Well, let's hope I do. Lately. You know, it was
- 55:45Speaker 2: kind of funny with the article too, like some people
- 55:47Speaker 2: wrote things that I was like what they were like,
- 55:50Speaker 2: I'm glad to see your careers beginning.
- 55:53Speaker 1: And I'm like, what you're like, girl, I've been around
- 55:56Speaker 1: ten years, man.
- 55:58Speaker 2: Ten years that well, previous to that, I did you
- 56:01Speaker 2: know crisis media litigation for law firms for seventeen so
- 56:04Speaker 2: it's like, you know, it's like it's been a long,
- 56:07Speaker 2: long long thing.
- 56:10Speaker 1: What a life, Kate, What a life?
- 56:12Speaker 2: Yeah, so many children, And there were many years where
- 56:15Speaker 2: I was still doing crisis media litigation and the podcast,
- 56:18Speaker 2: so both of them, and then raising children. So you know,
- 56:22Speaker 2: this is not easy to be a woman in business.
- 56:25Speaker 2: It is not easy to be a woman in podcasting.
- 56:27Speaker 2: And there were many years where I was navigating a
- 56:29Speaker 2: job that was paying with the job that I wanted
- 56:32Speaker 2: to one day be you know, paid for, while raising
- 56:35Speaker 2: little kids. And I actually had set My number four
- 56:39Speaker 2: was a year old when I started my podcast, and
- 56:42Speaker 2: I had another child, my fifth in you know after
- 56:45Speaker 2: that too.
- 56:47Speaker 1: How old is your youngest child?
- 56:49Speaker 2: Seven? Okay?
- 56:50Speaker 1: How old your oldest child?
- 56:52Speaker 2: Almost seventeen? Okay, so they're nine years because kick Caroline
- 56:56Speaker 2: is almost eight, so yeah, nine years.
- 57:00Speaker 1: I always try to uh name your children because somehow
- 57:05Speaker 1: I always forget one. But well it's yeah, Caroline Hayes,
- 57:08Speaker 1: Sutton or the three because I always got Jack and
- 57:10Speaker 1: me Hu and the Carolin Hayz and Sutton. Somehow I
- 57:13Speaker 1: will always just so well, I know, but somehow I'll
- 57:16Speaker 1: be like, what is that other one's name?
- 57:17Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, okay, yeah.
- 57:20Speaker 1: You gotta gotta gotta remember your friend's kids' names. It's like,
- 57:23Speaker 1: I just those three little ones, they're like the three
- 57:26Speaker 1: little Plath girls live left loff.
- 57:28Speaker 2: Yeah they are, except the three and four they get
- 57:33Speaker 2: they're they're they're tight, and one and two they have
- 57:36Speaker 2: got their own thing.
- 57:36Speaker 1: But then two and five of their own thing too. Anyway,
- 57:40Speaker 1: But you're just like the duggers. You just get hand
- 57:43Speaker 1: like this one's gotta raise that one.
- 57:46Speaker 2: Some woman said to me yesterday. I was like, this
- 57:48Speaker 2: is such a weird. She goes, I feel like the
- 57:50Speaker 2: new flex is saying, you have a lot of kids.
- 57:53Speaker 1: That's been, that's been.
- 57:54Speaker 2: The flex is the flex when you're drowning in stress
- 57:58Speaker 2: because you have to get them in activities in school
- 58:01Speaker 2: and all this, Like what is the flex with that? Sorry?
- 58:04Speaker 2: Oh god.
- 58:05Speaker 1: When I was in Mississippi recently, I wentn't surprised my
- 58:08Speaker 1: mom for her birthday. I was only there for like
- 58:09Speaker 1: a day and a half. I went with my sister
- 58:11Speaker 1: to pick up her grandson, so my niece's son, and
- 58:16Speaker 1: they were in the middle of like vacation Bible school,
- 58:19Speaker 1: and as you go through the vacation Bible School. I
- 58:20Speaker 1: was like, oh my god, I remember when vacation Bible
- 58:24Speaker 1: school time. We were just constantly looking to see so
- 58:26Speaker 1: we wanted to make get our kids in all the
- 58:28Speaker 1: vacation Bible schools because usually they were free, and they
- 58:31Speaker 1: would be like nine to twelve. And you're like, Okay,
- 58:33Speaker 1: I got this week blocked off for the Baptist vacation
- 58:36Speaker 1: Bible School. I got this week blocked off for the
- 58:39Speaker 1: Presbyterian Vacation Bible School. I was like, whether you like
- 58:42Speaker 1: it or not, you're getting a lot of Jesus this week.
- 58:45Speaker 1: Nine to twelve.
- 58:46Speaker 2: God, what vacation Bible school is always really fun. I
- 58:50Speaker 2: remember that rest time yest time.
- 58:52Speaker 1: So that just like brought me back about just trying
- 58:54Speaker 1: to get that schedule down to get this kid and
- 58:56Speaker 1: be like, oh, John's almost old enough for vacation Bible school.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, and I have a whole morning.
- 59:02Speaker 2: Yes, so true, so true, so true.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Young moms, we see you out there, just we watch
- 59:08Speaker 1: the valley. We know it's hard.
- 59:10Speaker 2: It is hard. Yeah to all those people that shows
- 59:12Speaker 2: too dark, Well, what do you think women in their
- 59:14Speaker 2: thirties experience?
- 59:16Speaker 1: It's rough, it's rough. Anything else we should know to watch.
- 59:21Speaker 2: Okay, documentary is called Bring Me the Beauties, the Model Cult,
- 59:25Speaker 2: So to watch that. That's about a weirdo. Oh. Maternal
- 59:29Speaker 2: Instinct comes out of Friday. It's like a true crime
- 59:31Speaker 2: one episode doc on Netflix about a woman, a new mother.
- 59:36Speaker 2: It's I can't I don't explain it. I just want
- 59:39Speaker 2: you to watch it. It comes out Friday. Maternal Instinct.
- 59:43Speaker 2: That's it. That's you know how the crash everybody talked
- 59:45Speaker 2: about the crash. Maternal Instinct is the next one.
- 59:48Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, I'm still obsessed with the crash, still listening
- 59:51Speaker 1: to stuff about that.
- 59:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:53Speaker 1: I just finished listening to the Love Trapped podcast.
- 59:57Speaker 2: We know I interviewed Clayton.
- 59:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I do. And I thought I knew everything about
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: it until I'll listened to that podcast. I was like, Wow,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: there was so much more. I did not know so much,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: and I really I really liked kind of At the
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: last one of the last two episodes, the host was like,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: you know, one word we've not used is and then
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: you have all these clips of people saying crazy, this
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Lade's crazy, this woman's crazy. God, this this bitch is crazy,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: you know, and she's like, we haven't we specifically, haven't
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: said that at all, because then it goes into kind
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: of a whole like believing women overall else And it
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: was very interesting how they touched on that at the end.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: But yeah, so at the end the last episode, they
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: were like, there's going to be this hearing on May
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: twentieth or something. I was like, well, what happened?
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, they have to update that. I remember
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: when he was talking about that. Yeah, it's really like
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: a never ending case.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Yeah, because it keeps people.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: I was worried about him. I said, I'm worried. And
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: then I was like, maybe I shouldn't have highlighted it,
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: but let's just call space of space. I said, I
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: don't want your first experience with your partner, when you
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: find out that you're going to be parents, to somehow
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: be diminished that joy because of what happened.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Yeah, hopefully not.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: I hopefully not.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: That other guy was okay, I got Mike, that was
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: the other victim. Yeah, yeah, he's ahead a nice wife.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Well, Layton is a very very nice guy. I liked
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: him a lot. That's good. And then this is not
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: a surprise to you. I ended up feeling like I
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: was his life coach.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: No surprise, surprise, everybody. Make sure you're following kk C.

- 1:02:00Speaker 2: that I've met who have written books, and I would
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: love for people to support them, all female writers, and
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: they're right.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: I'm currently reading Katherine Socket's new book, The Calamity Club.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Oh nice.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really good so far, really good.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: Yeah. I know you're a good reader too. You always
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: have good stuff. Have you read Chill Piazza's books?
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: She sent me that one she did, Yeah, she sent
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: me that one and I took it to the beach.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: I put on my bedside table. So when I go there,
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: i'll have a I'll have a next book. But I
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: felt loyalty that I had to read Catherine's first.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: You're gonna like it. She's like us. She has a
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: podcast too, going to our show. She is. I remember
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: we talked about her sending a book to you. Really
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: you're going to love her?
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Okay, good. Once I read that book, I'm gonna have
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: her on because it's about Paris and you know that's
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: my favorite city.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: Oh yeah, oh yeah, she would love it. Yeah.
