- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Dirty Rush, The Truth about Sororiti Life with
- 0:04Speaker 1: your hosts me Gia, Judice, Daisy.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Kent, and Jennifer Kessler.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Hi.
- 0:12Speaker 4: Everyone, welcome back to another episode of Dirty Rush. Today
- 0:16Speaker 4: we are going to be talking all about bunk groups,
- 0:18Speaker 4: how they're made, and how important they really are. This
- 0:21Speaker 4: is a producer episode hosted by Shelby and Ebby Gay.
- 0:25Speaker 4: So we're gonna jump in. We're gonna bring in our
- 0:27Speaker 4: panelists who are recruitment pros. Welcome, guys. What are your guys' names?
- 0:33Speaker 5: Hi, my name is Peyton. Hi, I'm Sarah.
- 0:36Speaker 4: Hi, guys, Welcome. Where'd you guys both go to school?
- 0:40Speaker 5: We both went to a school in Texas.
- 0:42Speaker 4: And were you on recruitment team together there?
- 0:45Speaker 5: Yes?
- 0:46Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, that's so fun. Ebbs, do you want
- 0:49Speaker 4: to take it away with the first question.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Yeah, So, what our audience wants to know is like,
- 0:55Speaker 1: how are bunk groups made behind the scenes when it
- 0:58Speaker 1: comes to recruitment.
- 1:00Speaker 6: Group is essentially, when you're going through recruitment and you
- 1:03Speaker 6: go into the houses and you're talking to multiple people
- 1:06Speaker 6: from whatever house it is, those people that you're talking
- 1:11Speaker 6: to are all paired together in a group based off
- 1:15Speaker 6: of most likely like a common interest or a state
- 1:18Speaker 6: that they're from, and they're going to be like personally
- 1:22Speaker 6: assigned to talk to the girls that are coming through
- 1:26Speaker 6: the house.
- 1:27Speaker 4: I don't know if that makes sense. No, that makes
- 1:29Speaker 4: so much sense. So, like maybe walk us through like
- 1:32Speaker 4: a timeline. When do you guys start putting together bump groups?
- 1:36Speaker 4: Does it start in the summer? How early do you
- 1:38Speaker 4: start matching these girls together?
- 1:40Speaker 7: Yeah, it starts pretty early in the summer. The recruitment
- 1:43Speaker 7: team meets kind of beginning end of the previous school year,
- 1:49Speaker 7: and we'll start to just all talk together and kind
- 1:53Speaker 7: of brainstorm who belongs in what group?
- 1:56Speaker 5: Yeah, so, like she said, pretty early on in the summer.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Okay, and then before being on the recruitment team, where
- 2:03Speaker 1: were you placed in your bump group.
- 2:06Speaker 6: I was at the back of the bump group for
- 2:09Speaker 6: my bump group, which is the I don't want to
- 2:14Speaker 6: say the worst position in the bump group, but the
- 2:18Speaker 6: worst position in the bump group just have like the
- 2:21Speaker 6: less likelihood of talking.
- 2:23Speaker 5: The people in the middle talk the most.
- 2:26Speaker 1: So can you explain like kind of the order of
- 2:30Speaker 1: it go, Like why is it that the last person
- 2:32Speaker 1: gets the least amount of time.
- 2:35Speaker 6: Yeah, so the person at the front of the bump
- 2:38Speaker 6: group is like the leader, so they're not necessarily the
- 2:43Speaker 6: person that's going to be talking the most, but they're
- 2:45Speaker 6: the one that starts the bump.
- 2:46Speaker 5: I'm like trying to remember how this goes.
- 2:48Speaker 6: And then there's probably like five people in a bump group,
- 2:53Speaker 6: so then people like two and three are probably the
- 2:57Speaker 6: ones that are going to talk the most.
- 2:59Speaker 5: The first person and never picks up at the door.
- 3:02Speaker 7: They are standing around the room, and then when they're
- 3:06Speaker 7: kind of given their signal to go bump, then they
- 3:08Speaker 7: go bump and they start like the domino effect pretty much.
- 3:13Speaker 5: Got it.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Yeah, that's so interesting. And I also recruited at my
- 3:18Speaker 4: school and it was interesting because some bump groups would
- 3:22Speaker 4: talk way more than others. Like sometimes you had a
- 3:25Speaker 4: bump group where the first bump group leader didn't start
- 3:30Speaker 4: by talking to someone, but everyone else did, which meant
- 3:32Speaker 4: like their entire bump group was going to talk and
- 3:35Speaker 4: maybe they were doing that every round. But some bump
- 3:37Speaker 4: groups it might have only been one person in their
- 3:40Speaker 4: bump group talking to a person, so their bump group
- 3:42Speaker 4: only was talking to one P and M in the
- 3:44Speaker 4: entire round, and it really just depends based on like
- 3:47Speaker 4: if there is a bunch of girls from that area
- 3:50Speaker 4: coming in, maybe like it's a California bump group, and
- 3:53Speaker 4: like this round is all California girls. They're talking a lot.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Do you guys feel like it just like depends on
- 3:59Speaker 4: like who's walking through the door P and M wise.
- 4:02Speaker 6: Yeah, for the most part, I feel like it depends
- 4:05Speaker 6: on who the p and ms are, Like there's obviously
- 4:08Speaker 6: a couple of bump groups that are probably the stronger
- 4:10Speaker 6: recruiters that are gonna their whole entire bump group is
- 4:13Speaker 6: going to get used pretty much every single time, But
- 4:17Speaker 6: overall it's meant to be based on whose the p
- 4:20Speaker 6: and ms are that are coming through.
- 4:22Speaker 5: But it probably doesn't always work out that way.
- 4:25Speaker 6: There's usually like two or three bump groups that would
- 4:27Speaker 6: be considered like the strongest of the chapter, and then
- 4:31Speaker 6: everyone else is kind of like middle, and then there
- 4:35Speaker 6: maybe is a few.
- 4:35Speaker 5: That are not so strong of bump groups.
- 4:39Speaker 4: And then when you guys are like picking out the
- 4:41Speaker 4: bump groups, what information do you need on like the recruiters,
- 4:45Speaker 4: Like do you need to know where they're from? Like
- 4:47Speaker 4: how much information are you taking about the girls in
- 4:50Speaker 4: your sorority to place them accurately in their bump groups.
- 4:53Speaker 7: Yeah, a lot of it's like what they did in
- 4:55Speaker 7: high school, because obviously these girls are coming from high school,
- 4:59Speaker 7: so it's of like, Okay, if they played soccer in
- 5:02Speaker 7: high school, then like that helps, or where they're from
- 5:05Speaker 7: kind of like some common hobbies that they may have too,
- 5:08Speaker 7: like going into college. So it's just a lot of
- 5:12Speaker 7: like similarities that you try to match on.
- 5:15Speaker 6: You can put people in a bump group based off
- 5:16Speaker 6: like if they're friends, so like while you would try
- 5:19Speaker 6: to ideally put it together based off like hobbies, if
- 5:22Speaker 6: it doesn't always work out that way, you usually try
- 5:24Speaker 6: to put like maybe two people that are friends in
- 5:27Speaker 6: a bump group.
- 5:28Speaker 1: And as like being on the recruitment team, is this
- 5:31Speaker 1: just knowledge that you have or is they're kind of
- 5:33Speaker 1: like an intake form? I mean, do you just know
- 5:35Speaker 1: everyone in your sorority so well that you know what
- 5:39Speaker 1: they did in high school and what their activities were
- 5:41Speaker 1: and their personality types or were there some people you're like, oh,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I actually don't know this information about them, Like we
- 5:46Speaker 1: got to go figure it out.
- 5:48Speaker 6: Where school we did like interviews, so you had to
- 5:51Speaker 6: like meet with people on the recruitment team, and they
- 5:54Speaker 6: would kind of be meeting with you together, like you're
- 5:58Speaker 6: like your basic information about like what did your high
- 6:00Speaker 6: school experience, high school hobbies, and then also just so
- 6:03Speaker 6: that the recruitment team would like meet you, so that
- 6:06Speaker 6: they were getting to see like what you were like.
- 6:08Speaker 6: That was probably the main purpose behind it.
- 6:11Speaker 1: So my guess is that, like recruitment team is working
- 6:13Speaker 1: all year round, Like most of the hours that you're
- 6:16Speaker 1: working are like coming in prep for the actual like
- 6:20Speaker 1: formal recruitment. So like at you know the peak, how
- 6:25Speaker 1: many hours a week were you working on recruitment team
- 6:27Speaker 1: because this is like this sounds like you're apting to
- 6:29Speaker 1: interview everyone from the chapter.
- 6:31Speaker 7: Oh my god, I feel like a lot of it
- 6:34Speaker 7: is like during the summer we try to prep as
- 6:37Speaker 7: much as possible, so then during like the week before
- 6:41Speaker 7: and actual recruitment week, it's not as stressful, but it
- 6:45Speaker 7: definitely is still like a lot.
- 6:47Speaker 5: So it was for fall recruitment.
- 6:48Speaker 4: Yes, okay, god, I don't know.
- 6:50Speaker 5: How many hours like exactly, Peyton, what would.
- 6:52Speaker 8: You say.
- 6:54Speaker 6: In the summer, I would say, the recruitment team, like
- 7:00Speaker 6: the behind the scenes team probably does. I'd say around
- 7:05Speaker 6: a week five hours probably, and then in the once
- 7:09Speaker 6: it's actually recruitment work week, it's like probably seven to
- 7:15Speaker 6: seven roughly, so like twelve hours Monday whatever it is
- 7:19Speaker 6: the week of, and then during actual recruitment, I'd say
- 7:23Speaker 6: the same thing. So they're like long days during work
- 7:26Speaker 6: week in recruitment, like seven am to seven pm earliest.
- 7:30Speaker 5: It's long.
- 7:31Speaker 1: What was like the craziest thing you did during recruitment
- 7:34Speaker 1: to stay awake or like just stay energized, because you're
- 7:38Speaker 1: not only energizing yourself to run the show, but everyone
- 7:44Speaker 1: else is probably more tired than you are because they're
- 7:46Speaker 1: not like I mean, you're probably more tired, but you
- 7:49Speaker 1: have to put on a good face like that is
- 7:53Speaker 1: some hard work. Like what is like the craziest thing
- 7:55Speaker 1: that you did or the craziest energy drink or whatever,
- 7:58Speaker 1: Like how did you survive that?
- 8:00Speaker 6: But first, I feel like just like purely adrenaline. I
- 8:03Speaker 6: feel like it's just such like a rush that like
- 8:05Speaker 6: you don't even really need, like the calf I mean,
- 8:09Speaker 6: you need it, but for me, I feel like I
- 8:11Speaker 6: was just so like amped up and like excited and
- 8:14Speaker 6: all over the place that that's what got me through.
- 8:18Speaker 7: Yeah, I definitely think like the coffees in the morning helped, and.
- 8:23Speaker 5: Some like Candy Brakes.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Totally. Have you guys ever like had to change someone's
- 8:32Speaker 4: placement last minute, like and what like prompted that placement
- 8:37Speaker 4: change if you had one.
- 8:41Speaker 7: I definitely think there has been and I think it's
- 8:46Speaker 7: just the first few rounds. You can tell, Okay, maybe
- 8:49Speaker 7: they're not a good fit for that bump group and
- 8:51Speaker 7: they would be better somewhere else, and we kind of
- 8:55Speaker 7: talk as a team like the strategy going forward about
- 8:58Speaker 7: that and if this which needs to be done.
- 9:01Speaker 5: Then it will happen. I mean kind of like rearrange
- 9:03Speaker 5: the whole bump group.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Yeah, which is probably hard on you guys after like
- 9:07Speaker 4: spending your summer making one bump group and then like
- 9:10Speaker 4: if one little change has to be made, it could
- 9:11Speaker 4: like switch up everything. Because I remember, like when I
- 9:14Speaker 4: was going through recruitment or on the other side, like
- 9:17Speaker 4: how one small little move really does affect like so much,
- 9:21Speaker 4: like you really want to try not to change anything.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Thinking of that, Like I'm thinking about when I was
- 9:26Speaker 1: in like recruitment and bump groups, Like was there any
- 9:30Speaker 1: ever a time that like somebody didn't get bumped, or
- 9:33Speaker 1: it got messed up, or someone wasn't there, whatever, and
- 9:35Speaker 1: you had to like, yeah, do something really quick on
- 9:37Speaker 1: the fly.
- 9:39Speaker 5: Yeah, we definitely had that like a lot of the time.
- 9:41Speaker 6: So there was a lot of uh, not a lot,
- 9:44Speaker 6: but definitely least like once a day, maybe someone wouldn't
- 9:48Speaker 6: get bumped, or someone would the bump would get messed up,
- 9:52Speaker 6: but usually it all worked out like in the end, like.
- 9:54Speaker 5: For the better.
- 9:55Speaker 6: Normally there was somebody that was aware enough to know
- 9:58Speaker 6: that someone wasn't really they were supposed to be to
- 10:01Speaker 6: kind of fill in.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Yeah, No, it's crazy, like cause there was one year
- 10:05Speaker 4: where I was the leader of my bump group, and
- 10:08Speaker 4: so since I wasn't picking up at the door, sometimes
- 10:11Speaker 4: there was some wiggle room. And I just recruited for
- 10:13Speaker 4: three years, so I would kind of understand the logistics.
- 10:17Speaker 4: So my recruitment team and our recruitment share would kind
- 10:20Speaker 4: of throw me into some situations because she knew I
- 10:23Speaker 4: could figure it out on this spot. And so sometimes
- 10:26Speaker 4: it's not even our team that messes up, but it
- 10:29Speaker 4: could be like a P and M has to go
- 10:31Speaker 4: to the bathroom and steps out of line. Now that
- 10:33Speaker 4: changes every logistic of how they were matched. Maybe you
- 10:37Speaker 4: guys can kind of talk about like how bump groups,
- 10:41Speaker 4: the people picking up at the door, that's all very
- 10:43Speaker 4: specifically matched, because I know some girls going through recruitment,
- 10:46Speaker 4: but I'd be like, this is so interesting. Every single
- 10:49Speaker 4: person I've talked to is from my hometown. Why is
- 10:52Speaker 4: that the case? Is that on purpose? Is that like
- 10:55Speaker 4: supposed to be like that? Can you guys kind of
- 10:57Speaker 4: explain that.
- 10:59Speaker 7: Yeah, they definitely is on purpose. We get a list
- 11:03Speaker 7: of all the p and ms coming in the round
- 11:06Speaker 7: before I think the morning of and we quickly like think, okay,
- 11:11Speaker 7: who's paired with who? So it is like very last
- 11:15Speaker 7: minute kind of decision, and we all kind of have
- 11:18Speaker 7: to work as a team, like thinking, okay, who would
- 11:20Speaker 7: be the best recruiter for this P and M? And
- 11:24Speaker 7: we line them up at the door or maybe like
- 11:27Speaker 7: have the person before them and their bump group go
- 11:30Speaker 7: so then at least that they can talk to the
- 11:32Speaker 7: both of the people in their bump group.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Same thing for you, Payton.
- 11:36Speaker 6: Yeah, that's that's kind of why it's important to make
- 11:39Speaker 6: sure your bump groups are pretty like cohesive or the
- 11:42Speaker 6: bump group as a whole is strong because you get
- 11:45Speaker 6: that list the morning of and then you're quickly trying
- 11:48Speaker 6: to pair based off of who's coming in that day,
- 11:53Speaker 6: you know, or that round and then but yeah, it
- 11:57Speaker 6: is very strategic and like very fast. I'm trying to remember,
- 12:00Speaker 6: like they give you the list of who's coming through
- 12:03Speaker 6: the door, and I think they're in numerical order. So
- 12:06Speaker 6: if let's say one of those people, one of the
- 12:08Speaker 6: p and ms has to go to the bathroom or
- 12:11Speaker 6: there's in the wrong spot in line, that will mess
- 12:14Speaker 6: up like the whole round, because they're given to you
- 12:17Speaker 6: in a specific order, and then you're matching on that side,
- 12:21Speaker 6: like in the same order, if that makes sense.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Hey there, Amy Robot and TJ Holmes here from the
- 12:35Speaker 2: Amy and TJ podcast, where we are doing the exact
- 12:38Speaker 2: opposite of taking a summer vacation.
- 12:40Speaker 8: Yeah, I can't do that.
- 12:41Speaker 2: There's entirely too much going on in the world right
- 12:44Speaker 2: now to not be talking about all this stuff. Yes,
- 12:47Speaker 2: drama at the White House, drama at the World Cup,
- 12:49Speaker 2: drama about the Reflecting Pool, and yes, drama at the
- 12:52Speaker 2: Villa Pool on Love Island. All day, every day we
- 12:55Speaker 2: have you covered with the latest breaking news in the
- 12:57Speaker 2: stories everyone will be talking about. Listen to me and
- 13:00Speaker 2: TJ on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts or wherever you
- 13:04Speaker 2: listen to podcasts.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Are there any things that like P and MS would
- 13:12Speaker 1: be surprised to learn about this how this process actually works.
- 13:16Speaker 6: I think they'd be as surprised and to know, like, uh,
- 13:21Speaker 6: kind of just like that they are paired like strategically,
- 13:24Speaker 6: and that the girls that they're talking to like they
- 13:29Speaker 6: only have like a quick bit of information that they're
- 13:31Speaker 6: given about the about them before they actually meet them.
- 13:34Speaker 6: For us our school, they were the information was given
- 13:37Speaker 6: on the cards in between rounds, like a piece of
- 13:41Speaker 6: paper that had like their name, photo and like where
- 13:45Speaker 6: they were from or like hobby or something. But it
- 13:48Speaker 6: was all like very quick, just like how quick the
- 13:51Speaker 6: whole thing is.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that's such an interesting whole nother part
- 13:55Speaker 4: of recruitment that I had no idea how much happens
- 13:59Speaker 4: in between rounds before going through it. Like it just
- 14:03Speaker 4: seems like they just like are walking up to the
- 14:05Speaker 4: door and grabbing you and there's no system. But then
- 14:07Speaker 4: being on the other side, it's like you are literally
- 14:09Speaker 4: standing in a spot in line for such a specific reason,
- 14:12Speaker 4: and if you are like chit chatting with your best
- 14:14Speaker 4: friend and like switch with them, like everything is messed
- 14:17Speaker 4: up and it's so crazy how like stressful that gets
- 14:20Speaker 4: in the moment of like if someone like literally just
- 14:23Speaker 4: wants to have a sip of water, they could ruin
- 14:25Speaker 4: the entire process. And like I think that the guys
- 14:28Speaker 4: have no idea about because there's just so like mellow
- 14:32Speaker 4: and for girls, it's like so stressful, at least at
- 14:35Speaker 4: the school I went to. I'm sure there's a level
- 14:39Speaker 4: of stress difference at different schools, but I also went
- 14:42Speaker 4: to school in Texas, and I think there's just a
- 14:45Speaker 4: higher level of stress with like the Southern rush experience.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Yeah, no, it's true.
- 14:52Speaker 6: It's like it's so stressful and you kind of look
- 14:54Speaker 6: back on it and it's like for kind not for
- 14:57Speaker 6: no reason, but at the time, it seems like so
- 15:00Speaker 6: so stressful.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Yeah no, even now, I'm like looking back, I'm like,
- 15:04Speaker 4: recruitment seems like the most effective in the world, Like
- 15:07Speaker 4: when you're on recruitment team, and like when you're like
- 15:09Speaker 4: in the process and then like even a week later,
- 15:11Speaker 4: you're like, did I just spend twelve hours a day
- 15:14Speaker 4: like over this stress and it's like just crazy, but
- 15:19Speaker 4: just kind of the fun of it all.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I mean, I also think like for the listeners, like
- 15:25Speaker 1: it's all this all sounds like kind of wild and
- 15:28Speaker 1: the fact like calculated or whatever, but it is all
- 15:32Speaker 1: for like the broader purpose of you want you know,
- 15:36Speaker 1: typically like the recruitment team or upperclassmen, and like you
- 15:39Speaker 1: want the girls that match you know, your sororities, vibe
- 15:43Speaker 1: or whatever to like have the best chance for the
- 15:46Speaker 1: new class, you know, the next like class of recruits
- 15:50Speaker 1: or whatever class into your sorority like to vibe with
- 15:54Speaker 1: you know, the current members. And then you still also
- 15:57Speaker 1: want to give them like the best recruitment experience. It's
- 16:00Speaker 1: like not for nothing, but and you want to give
- 16:02Speaker 1: them like the same recruitment experience experience.
- 16:04Speaker 4: That you had.
- 16:05Speaker 1: So but it is like now in retrospect looking back
- 16:08Speaker 1: at it, like, oh my gosh, it was so stressful.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Like I remember one time we it was it was
- 16:16Speaker 1: pref like it was preference round and we like completely
- 16:21Speaker 1: messed it up to the point or miscounter or whatever.
- 16:23Speaker 1: And there was one girl who wasn't matched with someone
- 16:26Speaker 1: like she didn't have a recruiter. So like she was
- 16:29Speaker 1: just left out there on the step and like she
- 16:31Speaker 1: was like, oh my gosh, is anyone out coming for me?
- 16:33Speaker 4: And then we threw someone in there last minute.
- 16:34Speaker 1: We're like, how do we even make that mistake? Like
- 16:36Speaker 1: I spent hours like crossing our te's and dying your
- 16:39Speaker 1: eyes and didn't even that was like the most important
- 16:42Speaker 1: thing was pairing someone with.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Her Peyton and Sarah. I have another question for you guys.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Is there like a myth about bump groups that you
- 16:49Speaker 4: guys maybe want to like debunk about what maybe people
- 16:51Speaker 4: think goes on behind the scenes that really doesn't.
- 16:55Speaker 6: I think a lot of people think that the bump
- 16:57Speaker 6: groups are they try to make bump groups based on
- 17:01Speaker 6: who the recruitment team is like friends with and who
- 17:04Speaker 6: recruitment team wants to have, like to put in like
- 17:07Speaker 6: the strong.
- 17:08Speaker 5: I don't know if that makes sense.
- 17:08Speaker 6: Like, I think a lot of people think bump groups
- 17:10Speaker 6: are made based off who recruitment team is friends with
- 17:14Speaker 6: and they try to make the strong ones around their friends.
- 17:19Speaker 5: But that's definitely like not true.
- 17:20Speaker 6: I feel like it is definitely not based on like
- 17:23Speaker 6: who recruitment team is friends with.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Have you guys ever had a friend that was maybe
- 17:27Speaker 4: upset with you because they didn't like their bump group placement,
- 17:30Speaker 4: but like you put them there.
- 17:32Speaker 5: Oh definitely, like for sure.
- 17:36Speaker 7: But I think like every like people who are mad
- 17:39Speaker 7: about their bump groups, like there's a reason you're in
- 17:41Speaker 7: that one, Like we think about it hard and like
- 17:43Speaker 7: like it's all strategic, like even if you don't think
- 17:46Speaker 7: you have anything in common with them, like you.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Do, Yeah, totally. And do you guys think it's like
- 17:51Speaker 4: really important for like the bump group to get to
- 17:53Speaker 4: know each other. I know you guys were saying like
- 17:55Speaker 4: hopefully based on your matching skills, like they somewhat are friends,
- 17:59Speaker 4: but like, do you think during the week it's like
- 18:01Speaker 4: important to them to like get to know each other
- 18:03Speaker 4: because I remember when I was going through it, like
- 18:05Speaker 4: they come over and when they like bump each other,
- 18:07Speaker 4: they usually like have something that's like connecting the dots,
- 18:11Speaker 4: like I could be like, oh, this is my childhood
- 18:13Speaker 4: best friend growing up, she really wants to talk to you,
- 18:15Speaker 4: or they usually there was some sort of like line.
- 18:20Speaker 6: Yeah, I feel like it's super important for the bunk
- 18:22Speaker 6: group to like know each other like our school during
- 18:25Speaker 6: work week and yeah, during work weekend recruitment. The bump
- 18:29Speaker 6: groups were supposed to like go to lunch during the
- 18:31Speaker 6: breaks together and like try to like spend a lot
- 18:33Speaker 6: of time together just so they would kind of get
- 18:36Speaker 6: to know.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Each other more like just in like just to meet
- 18:39Speaker 5: new people.
- 18:40Speaker 6: But I think it was more for them to get
- 18:42Speaker 6: to know each other and make it seem or make
- 18:44Speaker 6: it like so that they had like stronger connections when
- 18:46Speaker 6: they were bumping each other.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Yeah, which is so fun. I feel like that's like
- 18:51Speaker 4: why recruitment is so fun for so many people. It's like,
- 18:53Speaker 4: I know when I first was a sophomore going through
- 18:57Speaker 4: it on the other side, for the first time, I
- 18:58Speaker 4: got to know so many girls I wasn't friends with
- 19:00Speaker 4: freshman year because we were kind of required to get
- 19:04Speaker 4: to know each other. But like you also just like
- 19:07Speaker 4: naturally spend so much time together that like you become
- 19:09Speaker 4: really good friends with these girls, And I feel like
- 19:11Speaker 4: that's a really special part of going through recruitment. On
- 19:14Speaker 4: the opposite side, Yeah.
- 19:16Speaker 1: What do you wish someone had told you about bump
- 19:18Speaker 1: groups before you went through recruitment or I'm.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Going to kind of tackle onto this. Would you have
- 19:23Speaker 4: wanted to know about bump groups? Like maybe if you
- 19:25Speaker 4: didn't catch on, do you think that's something you would
- 19:27Speaker 4: have wanted to know or do you think maybe it
- 19:28Speaker 4: was better that you had no idea if you had
- 19:31Speaker 4: no idea, No, I think it's.
- 19:33Speaker 5: Better you have like no idea.
- 19:35Speaker 7: I don't think that that's like something you should be
- 19:38Speaker 7: thinking about when you're going through recruitment. Is like paying
- 19:41Speaker 7: attention and seeing like people wandering. I think you should
- 19:44Speaker 7: be focused on the conversation. So for me, I think
- 19:48Speaker 7: I enjoyed not knowing that there was like bump groups.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Even Yeah, totally okay. I have two quick last questions.
- 19:55Speaker 4: The first one is is like, do you guys genuinely
- 19:58Speaker 4: feel like each girl should with their full trust in
- 20:01Speaker 4: the process and like maybe for a freshmanute if it's
- 20:04Speaker 4: like not going the way they want it to with
- 20:05Speaker 4: like rush coming up around the corner, do you think
- 20:08Speaker 4: like everyone really does fall into the right sarty that's
- 20:11Speaker 4: not for them, and it's like important to not like
- 20:13Speaker 4: try to like overstress about one specific swarty and ending
- 20:17Speaker 4: up in it.
- 20:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I feel like that's super important.
- 20:20Speaker 6: I feel like everybody does, at the end of the
- 20:22Speaker 6: day get into the place where they should be. And
- 20:25Speaker 6: I kind of think almost like the more blind that
- 20:28Speaker 6: you go into it, like, the more you're actually going
- 20:29Speaker 6: to get out of it.
- 20:31Speaker 5: I feel like it's.
- 20:31Speaker 6: When you do hyper fixate on like a house or
- 20:34Speaker 6: a couple of houses, that it's really just like not
- 20:36Speaker 6: gonna go your way because we'll also half the time
- 20:39Speaker 6: of your hyper focus on like a few houses, you're
- 20:42Speaker 6: just going to be distracted the whole time. And I
- 20:44Speaker 6: feel like that's just going to take away from you
- 20:46Speaker 6: showing like your actual personality.
- 20:49Speaker 5: So I would say try to know as little as
- 20:51Speaker 5: you can.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Yeah, that's so good. How about you, Sarah?
- 20:55Speaker 7: Yeah, I agree. I just think everything happens for a reason.
- 21:00Speaker 7: You know, you're meant to be where you're supposed to be,
- 21:02Speaker 7: and I think just enjoy the whole experience because it's
- 21:07Speaker 7: really fun and you'll miss it when you're on the
- 21:09Speaker 7: other side of it.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Okay, well you guys kind of got into my last question,
- 21:13Speaker 4: but like, or I guess not a question, but do
- 21:15Speaker 4: you guys have any advice for anyone who's about to
- 21:19Speaker 4: go through recruitment this upcoming year that you maybe wish
- 21:21Speaker 4: you knew when you were going through the recruitment process.
- 21:27Speaker 5: Just be yourself and.
- 21:31Speaker 7: Really emerge in the process and be very open minded
- 21:36Speaker 7: because I think sometimes the house you think mhy not
- 21:41Speaker 7: you would like you could, and so just be really
- 21:44Speaker 7: open minded and you know, see what's out there.
- 21:48Speaker 6: Yeah, I would say, just to not worry too much
- 21:52Speaker 6: about like the small things like an outfit outfits or
- 21:55Speaker 6: like I don't know what you're I don't know I
- 21:58Speaker 6: even trying to wear your try to overly prepare because
- 22:01Speaker 6: the small things really don't matter, and it all works
- 22:04Speaker 6: out how it's supposed to.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Yay, perfect well. Thank you so much, Pain and Sarah
- 22:09Speaker 4: for coming on today. So interesting hearing about like all
- 22:12Speaker 4: the behind the scenes of everything that you guys did
- 22:15Speaker 4: on recruitment teams. So thank you guys, so much, thank you,
- 22:19Speaker 4: thank you.

- 22:43Speaker 9: and what it's really like growing up in the middle
- 22:45Speaker 9: of reality TV chaos. One of us lived it, one
- 22:48Speaker 9: of us survived it. Listen to The Orange Doesn't Fall Far,
- 22:51Speaker 9: Available on the iHeartRadio, app Apple Podcasts, and wherever you
- 22:56Speaker 9: get your podcast.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Okay, Now we have Grace on today who is going
- 23:06Speaker 4: to be a freshman this year, and we're going to
- 23:08Speaker 4: talk to her a little bit about how she's feeling
- 23:10Speaker 4: going into recruitment for the first time, and we're actually
- 23:13Speaker 4: going to do a little practice recruitment session. Hi Grace, Hi,
- 23:18Speaker 4: how are you doing?
- 23:19Speaker 8: I'm good?
- 23:20Speaker 5: How are you good?
- 23:21Speaker 4: Thanks so much for joining. I'm dying to know, like
- 23:25Speaker 4: how you're feeling going into your freshman year this year.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Are you nervous about recruitment? How are you feeling?
- 23:32Speaker 10: I'm excited, but I'm also nervous, Like I'm excited for
- 23:35Speaker 10: the experience like going into it and seeing like what
- 23:39Speaker 10: it's like, and I think it's a good experience to
- 23:41Speaker 10: meet new people, but I'm also just nervous to like
- 23:43Speaker 10: go through.
- 23:44Speaker 8: The whole thing.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Yeah, totally. And where are you going to school this year?
- 23:48Speaker 8: I am going to school in California?
- 23:51Speaker 4: Okay, amazing. Do you have before we go into our
- 23:55Speaker 4: mock bump group? Do you have any like questions about
- 23:58Speaker 4: the recruitment process we can maybe help ann Sir?
- 24:02Speaker 8: Mostly just like I don't.
- 24:03Speaker 10: I'm like kind of in the dark about like how
- 24:06Speaker 10: it all works and like what each like round means,
- 24:10Speaker 10: or like how you like go to the houses and
- 24:12Speaker 10: they like choose you and then or they don't choose you.
- 24:14Speaker 10: Like I kind of like I don't really know anything
- 24:17Speaker 10: about the process.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Yeah, it's so interesting because I went through it. My
- 24:24Speaker 4: mom wasn't in a swarty or anything, so I also
- 24:27Speaker 4: went into recruitment like kind of knowing nothing. And I
- 24:29Speaker 4: think that is actually so beneficial to you because you
- 24:36Speaker 4: really go into it with open eyes and maybe not
- 24:38Speaker 4: like expectations of what it's going to be like, and
- 24:40Speaker 4: you can really go into it and trust that the
- 24:43Speaker 4: process is going to like make you end up where
- 24:45Speaker 4: you're supposed to be. So I think that's really fun.
- 24:50Speaker 4: I would just say, like it's really good to have
- 24:55Speaker 4: what you've done in high school at the top of
- 24:57Speaker 4: your mind, because I feel like when I was going
- 24:58Speaker 4: through a lot of the questions were about be things
- 25:00Speaker 4: you were involved in or things you cared about. So
- 25:02Speaker 4: that's not even like a resume, but maybe like I
- 25:05Speaker 4: danced and I really liked it because of this, and
- 25:07Speaker 4: I got to be around this kind of people, like
- 25:09Speaker 4: things that you genuinely, like enjoy are very easy to
- 25:12Speaker 4: talk about, so they're a very good thing. Like I
- 25:14Speaker 4: would always jump to when I was nervous because like
- 25:17Speaker 4: dance or whatever I was talking about was something I loved,
- 25:20Speaker 4: so it was really easy for me to talk about
- 25:22Speaker 4: it even when I was really nervous. Yeah, and I
- 25:24Speaker 4: think it's also good to ask questions because I feel like,
- 25:28Speaker 4: as when you're on recruitment team, it's really easy to talk,
- 25:31Speaker 4: so when P and m's are asking you questions, it
- 25:33Speaker 4: makes the conversation just flow really easily instead of the
- 25:36Speaker 4: recruitment team just asking you questions the whole time.
- 25:39Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 4: Yeah, it's really fun. I'm so excited that you're going
- 25:42Speaker 4: through I literally miss it and I miss being on
- 25:44Speaker 4: the other side of it. It's so fun. I remember
- 25:47Speaker 4: some girls after recruitment or like that was stressful. I'm
- 25:52Speaker 4: happy it's done and over, but like me and all
- 25:54Speaker 4: my friends like that was fun. Like we would literally
- 25:56Speaker 4: choose to go through it again because you get to
- 25:58Speaker 4: meet so many people. So instead of looking at it
- 26:01Speaker 4: like nervous and almost like you're interviewing, you can also
- 26:05Speaker 4: look at it as like how many girls do you
- 26:06Speaker 4: get to meet? And such a short amount of time,
- 26:08Speaker 4: and like, I have so many girls that I talked
- 26:11Speaker 4: to during recruitment that I didn't go there Swarty, but
- 26:13Speaker 4: like we were literally hanging out afterwards because we just
- 26:15Speaker 4: had such a good conversation and like got to know
- 26:18Speaker 4: each other so well. Yeah, okay, yay. How do you
- 26:22Speaker 4: feel about doing a little mock bump group, like a
- 26:25Speaker 4: little mock recruitment session. We'll just ask you some questions
- 26:28Speaker 4: that you'll probably be asked during the recruitment process. No
- 26:32Speaker 4: pressure or anything, but just we'll kind of do a
- 26:34Speaker 4: little bump group.
- 26:36Speaker 8: Yeah sounds good.
- 26:37Speaker 4: Okay, Reese, do you want to take it away?
- 26:39Speaker 3: I grace?
- 26:40Speaker 5: How Aorry?
- 26:41Speaker 8: I'm good.
- 26:43Speaker 4: How are you doing?
- 26:43Speaker 8: How is your summer awesome? It's been really fun recently.
- 26:47Speaker 3: What have you been up to this summer? You've been
- 26:49Speaker 3: hanging out with friends? Have you gone on any special trips?
- 26:51Speaker 3: I want to hear all about it.
- 26:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:53Speaker 10: I went to Cobo over the fourth of July, which
- 26:57Speaker 10: is really fun. I went for like a week, and
- 26:59Speaker 10: then I also went to to like have a Suit
- 27:01Speaker 10: with a bunch of like my girlfriends, so that was
- 27:03Speaker 10: really fun too.
- 27:04Speaker 8: That's exciting.
- 27:05Speaker 3: What does Coabo do for the fourth do they have
- 27:07Speaker 3: funny celebrations and.
- 27:11Speaker 8: It was like normal, They did some fireworks, who was normal?
- 27:14Speaker 8: Was just nice to be away for a little bit.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Yeah, that's exciting. Have you been working on all over summer?
- 27:21Speaker 3: Just been soaking up your time with your friends?
- 27:24Speaker 10: Yeah, I've just been I actually was a competitive dancer,
- 27:27Speaker 10: so I haven't really had time to do get into
- 27:30Speaker 10: a job this summer and they're like, no one's gonna
- 27:32Speaker 10: hire me for like a month, So I've.
- 27:34Speaker 8: Just been hanging out with my friends.
- 27:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:35Speaker 3: I danced all of high school too, so that's Oh really,
- 27:38Speaker 3: that's so crazy. Are you planning to continue doing that
- 27:42Speaker 3: in college or are you burnt out a little bit?
- 27:43Speaker 3: I definitely was burnt out by the time high school ended.
- 27:47Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm a little bit.
- 27:49Speaker 10: I think I'm gonna take the first year, but then
- 27:51Speaker 10: I think that maybe I'll see how like how it goes,
- 27:55Speaker 10: and then maybe that extollic try.
- 27:57Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like there's no rush at all. You
- 28:00Speaker 3: can always take some time off and then see if
- 28:02Speaker 3: you're missing it or if other things have filled your
- 28:04Speaker 3: cup enough, and then you know, see what's best for you.
- 28:08Speaker 3: But definitely no need to rush the first semester. I know,
- 28:12Speaker 3: I can't even fully remember of college because there was
- 28:14Speaker 3: so much happening all the time. But I definitely think
- 28:18Speaker 3: going into recruitment and finding people help to make that
- 28:21Speaker 3: transition a little bit easier. So I think you made
- 28:23Speaker 3: a great choice being here today. And where are you
- 28:27Speaker 3: from again?
- 28:28Speaker 8: Sorry, I'm almost Vegas, Las Vegas.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Okay, that's awesome. I actually haven't ever been to Vegas.
- 28:34Speaker 3: What's it like?
- 28:34Speaker 8: It's so awesome.
- 28:35Speaker 10: I don't really know, like what the on the strip
- 28:39Speaker 10: and all of that, because I'm not trying, like I
- 28:41Speaker 10: haven't really been out, but like it's a good like
- 28:43Speaker 10: people have a good time and it's really fun. It's
- 28:44Speaker 10: super hot right now, it's like one hundred and four degrees,
- 28:47Speaker 10: but it's been it's fun down here.
- 28:50Speaker 3: It's that hot to even go outside.
- 28:53Speaker 8: It's hard to go outside.
- 28:54Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Yeah, when you had dance during that time, would there
- 28:59Speaker 3: be like ac at least in the studios sometimes?
- 29:02Speaker 10: But sometimes it would break down and that was really not.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Good goodness, that's crazy. Would you say a lot of
- 29:10Speaker 3: your friends you've made her from dance or from school
- 29:12Speaker 3: or both?
- 29:14Speaker 8: I think both. I think a lot.
- 29:15Speaker 10: None of my school friends are my dance friends, like
- 29:19Speaker 10: we I go. Yeah, so I think I have like
- 29:23Speaker 10: it's just like two separate things. But I hang out
- 29:25Speaker 10: with my I feel like I hang out with my
- 29:27Speaker 10: school friends like more. An outside said, because I'm with
- 29:29Speaker 10: my dance friends all the time I dance.
- 29:31Speaker 3: No, totally, I totally understand that. Oh this is my
- 29:35Speaker 3: friend Shelby. Hi, Shelby, how are.
- 29:37Speaker 4: You doing good?
- 29:39Speaker 8: Hi?
- 29:39Speaker 4: Grace.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Shelby, weirdly enough, also was a dancer, and I was
- 29:44Speaker 3: just talking to Grace about how she did competitive dance
- 29:47Speaker 3: all throughout high school and we don't know if she's
- 29:49Speaker 3: going to continue it here, but I always said there
- 29:52Speaker 3: was no rush.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, I love it. I'm so excited to
- 29:55Speaker 4: talk to you. Thanks Reese.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Yeah, well, Grace, it was so nice to meet you.
- 29:59Speaker 3: I hope you have a great conversation with Shelby.
- 30:01Speaker 8: Nice to reach you as well.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Bye bye, Ma, Grace. That's so funny you were a
- 30:06Speaker 4: dancer as well. Yeah, I feel like us dancers have
- 30:09Speaker 4: like a bond, like it's something else, because competitive dance
- 30:12Speaker 4: is like a whole other world. Yes, do you feel
- 30:15Speaker 4: like you took a lot of skills from like your
- 30:18Speaker 4: dance days that like you still use today, like maybe
- 30:21Speaker 4: leadership or time management.
- 30:24Speaker 10: Yeah, I think I take a lot of like leadership
- 30:27Speaker 10: in from that because I was in like a position
- 30:30Speaker 10: where I was a little bit like maybe a year older,
- 30:34Speaker 10: like I was a year older than all of the girls,
- 30:35Speaker 10: so I kind of like had to step into that
- 30:38Speaker 10: position of being like the leader and then so I've
- 30:41Speaker 10: definitely taken that like in my outside life and also
- 30:45Speaker 10: again time management, like I really had to be there
- 30:48Speaker 10: on time, even ten minutes early, like if you were
- 30:51Speaker 10: on time, you were late.
- 30:52Speaker 8: Ten minutes early is on time? Like that kind of things.
- 30:55Speaker 10: I've really learned a lot about using those skills in
- 30:58Speaker 10: the real life too, totally.
- 31:00Speaker 4: And I feel like those skills you like learn when
- 31:02Speaker 4: you were younger like really carry with you because you
- 31:06Speaker 4: like were taking on such large roles as a younger child,
- 31:11Speaker 4: like getting yourself to dance parkson time and knowing your
- 31:13Speaker 4: schedule because like you didn't when your parents still like
- 31:16Speaker 4: have to do everything for you. I feel like I
- 31:18Speaker 4: grew up fast because of it. That's so great. Did
- 31:21Speaker 4: you do anything else besides dance, like cheer anything? Or
- 31:24Speaker 4: was dance like your main focus.
- 31:26Speaker 8: That's was my main focus.
- 31:27Speaker 10: But my freshman year of high school, I tried the
- 31:30Speaker 10: cheer team through the school and.
- 31:32Speaker 8: That that was fun. That was a good experience.
- 31:34Speaker 10: But I went back to dance after that because I
- 31:37Speaker 10: wished it.
- 31:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, for freshman year, I tried it out
- 31:41Speaker 4: for cheer and I didn't make it, which was so
- 31:43Speaker 4: awkward because I had been like trying to get my
- 31:45Speaker 4: back handspring and like all the cheer things. I just
- 31:48Speaker 4: was like, at the end of the day, not a cheerleader,
- 31:49Speaker 4: but I wanted to try it so bad. But you know,
- 31:52Speaker 4: it all works out for a reason, and I wasn't
- 31:55Speaker 4: meant to do that, and so it worked out that
- 31:57Speaker 4: I like just kept doing dance instead of cheer. Yeah,
- 32:02Speaker 4: that's so great.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, Hi Eavy, Hi, I'm Evy.
- 32:09Speaker 4: I Grace. We were actually just wrapping up a conversation
- 32:12Speaker 4: about extracurriculars, and she was super involved in dance and
- 32:15Speaker 4: was kind of telling me some of those skills she
- 32:17Speaker 4: took from her dance days. Oh my gosh, I love that.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Bebby actually is one of my best friends from growing up,
- 32:23Speaker 4: and I'm so excited for you to get to talk
- 32:25Speaker 4: to her because she has such a special place in
- 32:27Speaker 4: my heart. So she's going to get to talk to
- 32:29Speaker 4: you now. Thanks Grace, so nice to meet you.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Thank you, Hi Grace. Okay, so I kind of know,
- 32:36Speaker 1: like want to know, like what are your friends like,
- 32:39Speaker 1: and like what are you looking for kind of in
- 32:41Speaker 1: recruitment or joining a sorority.
- 32:44Speaker 10: I think my friend group is a very like we're
- 32:46Speaker 10: very close and we have like a really good bond,
- 32:49Speaker 10: and I think like me separating like from them, we're
- 32:52Speaker 10: all going to different colleges, So I think like trying
- 32:54Speaker 10: to find something like that in college, like that sisterhood,
- 32:59Speaker 10: like I feel like, is what I'm really looking for,
- 33:02Speaker 10: and through dance as well, like I had that team
- 33:05Speaker 10: and so I think I can like that shifts over
- 33:08Speaker 10: to also the sisterhood of like being with the group
- 33:10Speaker 10: of girls and like everyone just being together.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Totally that's so awesome. I feel the same way, Like
- 33:16Speaker 1: I came a long way from a home for college
- 33:20Speaker 1: and it was really like I was looking for even
- 33:23Speaker 1: though I knew Shelby from growing up, Like I didn't
- 33:26Speaker 1: have a lot of friends here at school obviously it's
- 33:29Speaker 1: like anyone's you know what anyone goes through when they're
- 33:32Speaker 1: going to college, And so I definitely found a lot
- 33:35Speaker 1: of my friends and my sorority, which has been like
- 33:38Speaker 1: the best experience. But like, what specific qualities do you
- 33:41Speaker 1: look for in a best friend?
- 33:44Speaker 10: I think when like going off of my best friend,
- 33:47Speaker 10: I she's super loyal to me and she tells me
- 33:50Speaker 10: what like I need to hear sometimes.
- 33:54Speaker 8: And like yeah, like the hard truth, Yeah she does,
- 33:57Speaker 8: she does.
- 33:57Speaker 10: And she also just like a fun person to be around,
- 34:00Speaker 10: super positive, like never doesn't really complain. Like I love
- 34:04Speaker 10: being around someone that is just super good energy and
- 34:08Speaker 10: positive and just have a good time with them.
- 34:12Speaker 8: I love it.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel the same way. I feel like there're
- 34:16Speaker 1: gonna be a lot going on in college, and the
- 34:18Speaker 1: best people have around are like the ones that are
- 34:20Speaker 1: going to loosen you up and kind of keeping keeping
- 34:23Speaker 1: you grounded. Like right, you have plenty of other yeah,
- 34:26Speaker 1: people in your life to keep you serious, Like I
- 34:29Speaker 1: think the ones that stick are the ones you can
- 34:30Speaker 1: always like have a laugh with, yes, And like kind
- 34:36Speaker 1: of what do you like specifically with a sorority, Like
- 34:40Speaker 1: what are you looking for? Just kind of and I
- 34:43Speaker 1: guess you kind of said it with dance, like how
- 34:45Speaker 1: you had a sisterhood there, But like, what does kind
- 34:49Speaker 1: of the idea of sisterhood mean to you?
- 34:53Speaker 10: I feel like the idea like in a sorority, Like
- 34:55Speaker 10: I think it's just having people like there with you
- 34:58Speaker 10: and we're all like working together, They're like to the
- 35:00Speaker 10: same purpose. And I think that I want to find
- 35:04Speaker 10: just like go into the process and just be like
- 35:06Speaker 10: completely myself and understand that like I will find like
- 35:10Speaker 10: where I'm meant to be, and like I just want
- 35:12Speaker 10: people that are around me that like like me and
- 35:15Speaker 10: like to be around me and get me. And I
- 35:17Speaker 10: think that that's really just what I'm looking for, just
- 35:19Speaker 10: saying like true to myself and like being around people
- 35:22Speaker 10: that I love.
- 35:23Speaker 5: I love it are there.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of any like sisterhood activities that
- 35:28Speaker 1: have been really fun. But have you heard of anything
- 35:31Speaker 1: like particular to a sorority that you'd be excited about,
- 35:35Speaker 1: Like I don't know four roles or date parties or
- 35:39Speaker 1: like sisterhood events or are you kind of going in
- 35:41Speaker 1: blind you don't know much.
- 35:42Speaker 10: I'm kind of going in blind not knowing much. I've
- 35:45Speaker 10: heard like my friends that are already in college, like
- 35:47Speaker 10: before me talk about like their date parties and their
- 35:49Speaker 10: foremost and they say it's so fun. But like I've
- 35:51Speaker 10: never really I'm really going in blind, don't really know
- 35:54Speaker 10: what to expect.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I would think, like when I think back to
- 35:58Speaker 1: my first few weeks at school, like I was really
- 36:02Speaker 1: excited by like the idea of going with all my
- 36:05Speaker 1: sisters to a date party or an event. Like there's
- 36:09Speaker 1: so much there, like in the first few weeks after recruitment.
- 36:12Speaker 8: To have fun with.
- 36:13Speaker 1: So I think there's a lot for you to look
- 36:16Speaker 1: forward to. Okay, well, it's been so much fun talking
- 36:19Speaker 1: to you. Unfortunately we are out of time, so I
- 36:22Speaker 1: gotta walk you out for your next round. But thank
