- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: My goodness, my, my goodness, what an episode. It's time
- 0:11Speaker 2: for the Almost Famous podcast. We are here breaking down
- 0:12Speaker 2: the Golden Bachelor. Ashley and myself are so prepared, so ready.
- 0:16Speaker 2: We also have a really special guest today. We have
- 0:19Speaker 2: Shari coming on. Shrey is incredibly accomplished. She has led
- 0:23Speaker 2: a city, she has been awarded Miss Senior World. I mean,
- 0:29Speaker 2: we have a guest, a rock star, really in our
- 0:32Speaker 2: midst and we cannot wait to talk to her about
- 0:35Speaker 2: her thoughts on the Fantasy Suite week. But before we
- 0:39Speaker 2: bring her on, Ashley and myself have our thoughts. Ashley,
- 0:44Speaker 2: what okay to me? This episode was one I was
- 0:50Speaker 2: gripped by. I was into And here's what I love, Ashley,
- 0:54Speaker 2: Here's what I love. The drama I love of this
- 0:58Speaker 2: episode was not people necessarily being intentionally mean to somebody else.
- 1:04Speaker 3: No roast in this episode.
- 1:05Speaker 4: No rose. The drama is in the emotion and I
- 1:10Speaker 4: love it.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Yeah. Seriously. If you guys don't know, Ben had a
- 1:13Speaker 3: huge issue with the roast that happened during the Bachelor
- 1:16Speaker 3: in Paradise episode. We talked about it during our Bachelor
- 1:19Speaker 3: in Paradise recap episode. Yeah, you're right, this is like
- 1:23Speaker 3: some this is some good love drama. I don't know,
- 1:29Speaker 3: like what is what is my takeaway from this the
- 1:32Speaker 3: overall this episode? Maybe like Teresa Moore saw her more
- 1:37Speaker 3: as an intent contender and I still feel more physical
- 1:46Speaker 3: chemistry though with Gary and Leslie.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Okay, a couple rapid fire questions kind of out of
- 1:52Speaker 2: the blue to get this thing started. One would be
- 1:56Speaker 2: do you see any of these last two women potentially
- 1:58Speaker 2: being the next Golden Bachelorette if.
- 2:01Speaker 4: We were to have one.
- 2:02Speaker 3: I still think that if there's a Golden Bachelorette, it's
- 2:04Speaker 3: going to be Faith.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Okay.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I feel like everybody was rooting for Faith. I mean
- 2:08Speaker 3: I think it was just such a shocker that she'd
- 2:10Speaker 3: be the bachelorette.
- 2:11Speaker 2: So you don't think any of these two women will
- 2:14Speaker 2: be the next Bachelorette Ashley.
- 2:17Speaker 4: Do you think the.
- 2:20Speaker 2: The way that Gary handled the Fantasy Suite week was
- 2:28Speaker 2: I've never really hear I mean there's not, at least
- 2:31Speaker 2: in recent memory. Juan Pablo obviously said something during Fantasy
- 2:34Speaker 2: Suites that really threw him up. Do you just feel
- 2:36Speaker 2: like he handled this like most leads do or was
- 2:39Speaker 2: there an element different to you?
- 2:41Speaker 3: That's a good question. I actually think that like a
- 2:44Speaker 3: lot of leads handle it well, so I think he
- 2:48Speaker 3: probably handled it even better than most leads, just because
- 2:52Speaker 3: he has just the life experience. But as we'll talk
- 2:56Speaker 3: about when we get on the phone with Sharie, I
- 3:01Speaker 3: do think that he may have led the ladies on
- 3:03Speaker 3: a bit too much.
- 3:06Speaker 2: So my final kind of random question for you, did
- 3:10Speaker 2: this episode live up to everything you were hoping for
- 3:13Speaker 2: when it comes to Fantasy Suites and the Golden Bachelor?
- 3:16Speaker 3: It really it? Did it?
- 3:17Speaker 5: Did?
- 3:19Speaker 4: Okay, let's dive into it now we start out this.
- 3:21Speaker 3: I wish I could elaborate did it live up for you?
- 3:24Speaker 3: Because you're the one, you know that's been, you know,
- 3:26Speaker 3: the biggest fan of the show. Not to say that
- 3:29Speaker 3: I'm not, but uh, I.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Think it did.
- 3:32Speaker 2: I mean I for me, what I wanted to see
- 3:35Speaker 2: in this episode was them taking the time to explore
- 3:40Speaker 2: their relationship without cameras. I don't know how it spits
- 3:44Speaker 2: them out yet, so I can't really say because there's
- 3:46Speaker 2: a lot of things left unsaid. When it comes to
- 3:49Speaker 2: kind of the breakdown of the two evenings they both
- 3:52Speaker 2: seem great. They both seem fine, but they always, you know,
- 3:57Speaker 2: if they go reasonably well, they seem fine and great,
- 4:00Speaker 2: and you still really don't know what's going on in
- 4:03Speaker 2: Gary's head, or really the women's head. I think we
- 4:06Speaker 2: saw the dynamics of both women coming into this very excited,
- 4:12Speaker 2: and I think we saw Gary getting very overwhelmed, probably
- 4:15Speaker 2: more overwhelmed than the show showed. I think Gary was
- 4:21Speaker 2: a mess of emotions and I think a mess of exhaustion. Honestly,
- 4:26Speaker 2: Fantasy Suits Week is tiring, no matter what you're doing
- 4:30Speaker 2: behind closed doors. You're up late, you're not sleeping much,
- 4:34Speaker 2: you're talking as much as you can, because obviously even
- 4:37Speaker 2: if you are, you know, entering into intercourse, it ain't
- 4:41Speaker 2: taken six hours. You have a lot of time to talk.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Yeah, there is one other thing I'd like to mention.
- 4:50Speaker 3: The two storylines are so separate with the women. You
- 4:53Speaker 3: have one woman who's never even felt like she's had
- 4:56Speaker 3: like a great love, never been able to comfortably say
- 5:00Speaker 3: I want to spend the rest or I will be
- 5:02Speaker 3: spending the rest of my life with you. And then
- 5:04Speaker 3: there's another woman who is more in his boat, where
- 5:08Speaker 3: she's a widow, and she may have never expected another
- 5:13Speaker 3: love again. Do you find one more compelling than the other?
- 5:18Speaker 3: You do you find that their backgrounds play a play
- 5:24Speaker 3: a role in who he's gonna pick.
- 5:26Speaker 2: I don't know if it plays a role in who
- 5:28Speaker 2: he's going to pick, because I think you have very two,
- 5:30Speaker 2: very different dynamics. If he wants to be Leslie's first
- 5:35Speaker 2: real love, then that's something that would be maybe intriguing
- 5:38Speaker 2: to him. If he wants to have a partner who
- 5:41Speaker 2: understands what it's like to love again, then he would,
- 5:45Speaker 2: you know, pick Teresa. I think it just makes the
- 5:49Speaker 2: women who they are in a lot of ways, Like
- 5:51Speaker 2: you see, kind of their behaviors, their their characteristics, their
- 5:54Speaker 2: personality shine through their life experiences, and I do. I
- 6:00Speaker 2: I mean one of the reasons why I've been so
- 6:01Speaker 2: much in the Teresa camp since the beginning, and this
- 6:06Speaker 2: doesn't take away from Leslie's abilities, it's just life experience
- 6:10Speaker 2: is Teresa will have a built in empathy that Leslie
- 6:15Speaker 2: cannot have because she has not experienced loss. Teresa will
- 6:19Speaker 2: be able to understand what it's like maybe on a
- 6:21Speaker 2: random day when Gary starts crying because it's the anniversary
- 6:25Speaker 2: of his late wife, and it's just filling him up,
- 6:29Speaker 2: and she still loves him and she will sit beside
- 6:31Speaker 2: him in that because she.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Gets it too.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Yeah, And so you know, I think for Teresa there
- 6:36Speaker 2: is maybe an emotional connection, and I think for Leslie
- 6:41Speaker 2: it's always been not only emotional connection. I think they
- 6:43Speaker 2: get along great and I think they care about each
- 6:46Speaker 2: other a ton, but it's also been a very physical connection.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Leslie has always been our sex panther. She's always been sexy,
- 6:53Speaker 2: she's always been very kind of forward, and she's so
- 6:58Speaker 2: it's just two different women, and now it's what does
- 7:01Speaker 2: he want for this next stage of his life.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Here are the two moments that are a little bit
- 7:07Speaker 3: that confuse us as to who he's gonna pick. He
- 7:10Speaker 3: tells He tells Leslie, Trista told me something. She said,
- 7:16Speaker 3: you have to find the woman who you can't live without,
- 7:19Speaker 3: not the one you can live with. And then he says,
- 7:21Speaker 3: I think you're that one. I have to have coffee
- 7:24Speaker 3: with you every morning, and I have to have you
- 7:27Speaker 3: when I go to bed at night, Like that is huge.
- 7:31Speaker 3: If that's how he feels towards Leslie and what he
- 7:34Speaker 3: says to her on the first date of the week.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Why would he go and say I love you to
- 7:41Speaker 3: Teresa in the fantasy suite. Does he change his mind
- 7:46Speaker 3: in his fantasy suite with Theresa? That's the big question,
- 7:49Speaker 3: because I think leading into this episode is quite out.
- 7:52Speaker 3: It seems quite obvious that Leslie's the frontrunner, but then
- 7:56Speaker 3: it changes.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I think there's a little bit of uh understanding of
- 8:00Speaker 2: where Gary's at, and I know from our perspective it
- 8:04Speaker 2: seems like he's leading him on, and in a sense
- 8:06Speaker 2: he is, and I'm sure he's not exactly sitting watching
- 8:09Speaker 2: this being like, I'm so glad I did this to
- 8:11Speaker 2: both of them because one of these women is going
- 8:13Speaker 2: to end up being hurt. However, this, you know, based
- 8:18Speaker 2: on my experience on the show, this is a part
- 8:21Speaker 2: that's always very interesting to me because what I think
- 8:24Speaker 2: Gary's doing is being as authentic as he knows how
- 8:27Speaker 2: to based on his previous life experience. Typically, when you
- 8:31Speaker 2: care about somebody and they're sharing that yeah, well, when
- 8:37Speaker 2: they share with you, hey, I love you, the response
- 8:41Speaker 2: is a really you know, if you feel the same way,
- 8:42Speaker 2: it's really.
- 8:43Speaker 4: Hard to be like that sounds great.
- 8:45Speaker 2: No, you respond with a I love you too, and
- 8:49Speaker 2: I think also there is an element here where for
- 8:53Speaker 2: Gary especially, and I can't necessarily relate with this. He's
- 8:56Speaker 2: overwhelmed with a feeling that he has not been used
- 8:59Speaker 2: to in many, many years. He has two women that
- 9:03Speaker 2: I generally think he cares about that I generally think
- 9:06Speaker 2: he could see the rest of his life with, and
- 9:08Speaker 2: as a result, he doesn't know how to navigate it.
- 9:13Speaker 2: There's no road map, as he said, to how to
- 9:15Speaker 2: do this well or what to say and not to say.
- 9:18Speaker 2: You just get thrown in it. And so I watch
- 9:21Speaker 2: this and I say, Gary is a mess, and I
- 9:25Speaker 2: like it for television purposes. I love it. I think
- 9:28Speaker 2: he's in it. I think he's doing it. I think
- 9:30Speaker 2: he's involved in it. I think he's feeling everything he
- 9:32Speaker 2: can possibly feel from a real life perspective. I think
- 9:37Speaker 2: it's gonna be really painful for Gary and the last
- 9:39Speaker 2: two women, both of them. Honestly, I think one woman
- 9:42Speaker 2: who he chooses is gonna have a lot of stuff
- 9:45Speaker 2: to have to figure out. I do think Teresa would
- 9:48Speaker 2: be more prepared to kind of navigate that with him
- 9:50Speaker 2: than Leslie would. But however, both women are gonna be
- 9:54Speaker 2: hurt because they're gonna have to watch Gary say this
- 9:56Speaker 2: on national television, and then at the same time one
- 9:59Speaker 2: of them is gonna be going home, and she's going
- 10:01Speaker 2: to be confused to why she's going home when Gary
- 10:03Speaker 2: said this could be the next first morning of the
- 10:06Speaker 2: rest of my life, and hey, I think you're the
- 10:09Speaker 2: one that I can't live without. So both women now
- 10:11Speaker 2: have a verbal confirmation from Gary that is not just
- 10:18Speaker 2: I care about you and I love you, it is
- 10:21Speaker 2: after this, I see my life with you, I know.
- 10:24Speaker 2: So one of the things I want to talk about
- 10:25Speaker 2: Ashley about this scenario is I did feel, and Jessica
- 10:30Speaker 2: did feel, that there was a disconnect between Leslie and
- 10:33Speaker 2: Gary more than Teresa and Gary. The next morning, it
- 10:37Speaker 2: felt like the the closeness of their relationship going into
- 10:43Speaker 2: that night, like I was watching this going there is
- 10:45Speaker 2: zero chance he's not choosing Leslie. In fact, Jessica says,
- 10:50Speaker 2: are you going to be sad when he chooses Leslie?
- 10:52Speaker 2: And I said no, I like Leslie. I just always
- 10:54Speaker 2: thought it was gonna be Teresa because I was so convinced,
- 10:58Speaker 2: like what in the world's happening here? But the next
- 11:02Speaker 2: morning Jessica looked at me and she actually said At
- 11:04Speaker 2: first she said, hey, Gary, seems distant. I said, hey, uh,
- 11:13Speaker 2: after a good old you know friend, Lil Wayne. Once
- 11:17Speaker 2: you do it, you come to your senses a little bit.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, Ben, wait.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Really I thought maybe he just had the like next
- 11:26Speaker 2: morning kind of like hangover where like his mind is swhirling.
- 11:30Speaker 2: He's like, wait, I don't know what I just did.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I haven't done this in a while. It was so great,
- 11:35Speaker 2: and now like I'm I'm getting some clarity like that
- 11:39Speaker 2: is that is a thing.
- 11:43Speaker 4: It is a thing.
- 11:43Speaker 3: However, he feels like you think, like like, oh my gosh,
- 11:46Speaker 3: like the excitement because like you said, she's kind of
- 11:49Speaker 3: like the sex panther once like the sex was had
- 11:54Speaker 3: and that was out of his system. Then things clarified
- 11:57Speaker 3: whether or not it's like an emotional and match.
- 12:01Speaker 4: Yeah I do, gotcha? Do you agree? Disagree?
- 12:05Speaker 3: I have to before making comment or rewatch the morning
- 12:09Speaker 3: scene to see if it's if I really truly feel
- 12:11Speaker 3: like it's that distant.
- 12:13Speaker 2: We felt distance. I'll say that so that was my perspective.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Is I felt distance the next morning?
- 12:18Speaker 3: So interesting.
- 12:20Speaker 4: It's a thing, Ashley. It's a thing.
- 12:22Speaker 2: It's a good it's a good teller of when you
- 12:24Speaker 2: found the right one, because when you find the right one,
- 12:27Speaker 2: you know, you high five and you're like, let's try
- 12:29Speaker 2: to get in tomorrow or tonight or in two hours.
- 12:32Speaker 4: This was awesome, let's make.
- 12:34Speaker 3: You're like, oh, that's it's great. But it's out of
- 12:37Speaker 3: my system.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Yeah, oh no, I don't know if I can do
- 12:41Speaker 2: this again.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Because the lead up is so is the most fun
- 12:45Speaker 3: part right exactly?
- 12:48Speaker 2: It's it's it's a thing. I can't say it was
- 12:52Speaker 2: the thing that caused it. It's a theory that I'm
- 12:55Speaker 2: placing on that next morning.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Is this a guy thing or thing too? Or do
- 13:00Speaker 3: you do you can't dominate a guy thing? I know,
- 13:03Speaker 3: I know. I don't know why I asked you that,
- 13:05Speaker 3: because Jess and I are obviously in a situation where
- 13:07Speaker 3: we can't really answer it either, as we were not
- 13:10Speaker 3: really so sexually experienced.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I would imagine it's both. I would imagine there is
- 13:15Speaker 2: that uh you know, I'd imagine it's an element for both.
- 13:20Speaker 2: And you know, I know from my like from being
- 13:23Speaker 2: a man, it is, you know, a thing. I don't
- 13:28Speaker 2: know from a woman's perspective if it is a thing
- 13:31Speaker 2: or not. But I would imagine it is and some
- 13:33Speaker 2: maybe some different way, or you'd explain it some different way.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Lil Wayne has a sing in one of his songs
- 13:42Speaker 2: that explains it pretty well.
- 13:44Speaker 4: So I don't know ash I felt it. We'll see.
- 13:48Speaker 2: It's a theory, but we should see if maybe Sharie
- 13:53Speaker 2: feels the same way. I want to ask her because
- 13:57Speaker 2: obviously she is in the age group that would be
- 14:00Speaker 2: on the show. She would maybe understandable more and she's
- 14:02Speaker 2: maybe reading into things that you and I wouldn't be
- 14:05Speaker 2: based on our you know, lack of life experience. So
- 14:09Speaker 2: let's bring her on now, we'll dive into the episode.
- 14:12Speaker 2: We'll dive into what we thinks. Next, we'll dive into
- 14:15Speaker 2: who she thinks. You know, Gary's gonna end up with. Sure,
- 14:29Speaker 2: We're very lucky again this week have a very special
- 14:32Speaker 2: person on here breaking down kind of their opinions and
- 14:36Speaker 2: their thoughts on The Golden Bachelor. We have Shari this week, Suri,
- 14:40Speaker 2: can you explain to our audience how we know you,
- 14:43Speaker 2: how do we come in contact with you?
- 14:44Speaker 4: Why are we so lucky to have you on our podcast?
- 14:47Speaker 5: Hi, I'm from beautiful Port Angeles, Washington. Former mayor, former
- 14:52Speaker 5: Miss Senior USA and Miss Senior Washington World. And I'm
- 14:58Speaker 5: just a lady who loves advance, sure, who loves romance,
- 15:01Speaker 5: and absolutely adore Gary from The Golden Bachelors. So I'm
- 15:06Speaker 5: really happy to talk with you.
- 15:08Speaker 3: First of all, you are from Twilight Zone, like literally
- 15:12Speaker 3: the Twilight capital of the world. I'm so jealous. I
- 15:16Speaker 3: want to take a trip there one day.
- 15:18Speaker 5: Please come, We'll roll out the red carpet. I was
- 15:21Speaker 5: the mayor of Twilight. I was mayor during the Twilight series.
- 15:25Speaker 5: I'm a big fan. I actually I'm team Edward. I
- 15:28Speaker 5: want you to.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Say, of course, of course, as all people really should
- 15:32Speaker 3: be no offense to our friend and sweet sweet man
- 15:36Speaker 3: Taylor Lautner.
- 15:37Speaker 5: We love Taylor, but you know when a guy's are als,
- 15:40Speaker 5: it just makes your heart thraw. What can I say?
- 15:43Speaker 2: Goodness, gracious, we have so okay, before we get into
- 15:47Speaker 2: the Golden Bachelor.
- 15:49Speaker 4: You're the mayor for how many years.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Port Angelus, Washington. I served on the city council for
- 15:55Speaker 5: twelve years. I'm the only woman ever to serve three
- 15:58Speaker 5: consecutive terms, and I turned out. So now I'm doing
- 16:01Speaker 5: fun things. I'm still volunteering in my community because that's
- 16:06Speaker 5: the heart of our community as volunteers. But I modeled
- 16:10Speaker 5: in New York Fashion Week in September. I'm in three
- 16:13Speaker 5: fashion magazines and I'm watching the Old Tessler and I'm
- 16:18Speaker 5: talking to you, which is the highlight of my year.
- 16:21Speaker 5: You must know that you.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Have, oh please, you have way too much going on
- 16:25Speaker 3: for this to be a highlight. And you were so
- 16:27Speaker 3: you were, miss Senior Washington. Well, I yes, Senior world
- 16:33Speaker 3: washing your world?
- 16:34Speaker 5: Yes, because you know what, life doesn't need to stop
- 16:40Speaker 5: or change, because I'm breaking barriers for women of all ages.
- 16:47Speaker 5: Because if you didn't know how old you were, what
- 16:50Speaker 5: would you do? What would your goal be? And so
- 16:54Speaker 5: we're just ignoring that, and we're working on attitude, energy, experience,
- 17:00Speaker 5: and just really looking for opportunities for women of all
- 17:04Speaker 5: aid business.
- 17:05Speaker 3: So you're inspiring. Now, what's your relationship status.
- 17:10Speaker 5: I'm married to my nearly perfect husband's sweet pop and
- 17:16Speaker 5: he supports me and I'm very grateful. He's the first
- 17:20Speaker 5: man in my life who supports and encourages me and
- 17:22Speaker 5: doesn't feel threatened. In fact, my name Sherry Kidd is
- 17:30Speaker 5: he proposed to me and he has a lovely Norwegian name,
- 17:34Speaker 5: And I said, I love your name, but I have
- 17:36Speaker 5: three hundred yard signs that say kid for counsel and
- 17:40Speaker 5: I can't change now, so I kept my maiden name.
- 17:44Speaker 5: And he's just got a great sense of humor and
- 17:48Speaker 5: it's a good partnership. So I'm lucky. Yeah. How many
- 17:52Speaker 5: years are Yeah, seventeen years. And he's a former marine,
- 17:57Speaker 5: so politically he's not always diplomatic, but I call him
- 18:04Speaker 5: a nearly perfect husband.
- 18:06Speaker 4: He is nearly perfect.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Well, I mean, there's so much you've just said at
- 18:09Speaker 2: the beginning of this that I cannot wait to talk
- 18:11Speaker 2: to you about when it comes to The Golden Bachelor.
- 18:13Speaker 2: So before we get into kind of breaking down this
- 18:15Speaker 2: episode specifically, yes, and there's some big topic Sherritt SUI,
- 18:20Speaker 2: I hope you're If you're uncomfortable speaking about physical intimacy,
- 18:25Speaker 2: fantasy suites, the admissions of love, then let us know
- 18:30Speaker 2: and we'll just bypass it. But there are some really
- 18:32Speaker 2: interesting things I'd love to get your opinion on. But
- 18:34Speaker 2: before we get into that, I really am interested in
- 18:37Speaker 2: your overall thoughts on The Golden Bachelor. So as a sea,
- 18:41Speaker 2: as the season how is coming to an end and
- 18:43Speaker 2: it's been a whole new project obviously for the Bachelor franchise.
- 18:48Speaker 2: We've seen things happen on the show and stories told
- 18:51Speaker 2: that we've never seen before.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Would you, I guess, say that.
- 18:55Speaker 2: This show is breaking barriers and the way that you
- 18:58Speaker 2: hoped it would.
- 19:00Speaker 5: They took a big chance on doing the Gold of Bachelor.
- 19:04Speaker 5: It was either going to be a hit or a flop,
- 19:07Speaker 5: and it's a hit, and so I commend, I really
- 19:13Speaker 5: commend the people who found Gary because he's really the
- 19:17Speaker 5: total package of women who are older than you know.
- 19:21Speaker 5: The twenty year olds are looking for one thing. The
- 19:25Speaker 5: ladies who are experienced and more mature, you're looking for
- 19:29Speaker 5: something else. And to me, Gary's the total package. He
- 19:32Speaker 5: retired at fifty five, so financially he's able. He has
- 19:37Speaker 5: a loving family. He had one marriage and for forty
- 19:41Speaker 5: three years. And let me tell you, his wife trained
- 19:45Speaker 5: him well. Whoever the lucky lady gets him, he's well trained.
- 19:51Speaker 5: He's domesticated, and he's ready to settle down and the
- 19:54Speaker 5: good husband. He looks good. Pickleball is the most fastest
- 19:59Speaker 5: growing sport for seniors in the world, and it's fun
- 20:03Speaker 5: and social. He's the first I watched The Bachelor since
- 20:11Speaker 5: the first season okay, and this is the first bachelor
- 20:15Speaker 5: who cries when someone doesn't get a rose.
- 20:19Speaker 3: He cried, Yeah, sweet, He's so sweet. He's a great
- 20:26Speaker 3: communicator too.
- 20:27Speaker 5: He has emotions, he has feelings, he has humor, and
- 20:32Speaker 5: he appears to be a good kisser. I can tell
- 20:35Speaker 5: you that, you know. So it's been fun to watch.
- 20:40Speaker 5: It's been fun to watch. In fact, from the beginning,
- 20:44Speaker 5: I put my money on face. She just came out,
- 20:49Speaker 5: you know, tossed her hair, and she just she's a doll.
- 20:53Speaker 5: So she got the first rosen. She really made him
- 20:56Speaker 5: weak in the knees the first night that she sang
- 21:00Speaker 5: to him, so that she kind of started off really strong.
- 21:04Speaker 5: I didn't see Teresa coming. It's kind of like a
- 21:07Speaker 5: horse race, and you know, Teresa came from the back,
- 21:11Speaker 5: and she just kept moving up, kept moving up, kept
- 21:14Speaker 5: moving up. So I've I've been amazed at Teresa's progress too.
- 21:20Speaker 5: So he's founded to two interesting ladies, two wonderful ladies,
- 21:24Speaker 5: and so it was fun last night. It was a
- 21:27Speaker 5: fun episode to watch. It was very very interesting in
- 21:31Speaker 5: many ways.
- 21:32Speaker 3: What is your takeaway from just last night's episode, Like,
- 21:35Speaker 3: what do you leave thinking? Was going to happen next week.
- 21:38Speaker 5: Well, so last night was Fantasy Sweets. Yeah, Gry is
- 21:47Speaker 5: a widow. He hasn't been involved general manipulation relationship for
- 21:51Speaker 5: a long time. My first thought was they had him
- 21:55Speaker 5: back to back in consecutive nights with Fantasy Sweets and
- 21:58Speaker 5: didn't give him a breather. I think he probably needed
- 22:02Speaker 5: to breathe her because he was because he spent the
- 22:07Speaker 5: night with Leslie and he went into it. They had
- 22:13Speaker 5: a nice date and they repelled down this cliff, which,
- 22:18Speaker 5: frankly was it would be very frightening to any of
- 22:20Speaker 5: us if you're not someone who does that normally. I mean,
- 22:24Speaker 5: you look down and it looks like you're going into
- 22:27Speaker 5: the depths of the earth. And she was scared. I
- 22:30Speaker 5: was scared watching it. And if you had wrote me up,
- 22:33Speaker 5: I would have you know, that's that's to me. It
- 22:36Speaker 5: was that a game changer. Do you say nice to
- 22:39Speaker 5: know you're Gary, I'm out here, or okay, let's do this.
- 22:44Speaker 5: She sucked it up. She did it, and you know,
- 22:47Speaker 5: points for Leslie for actually repelling down that scary cliff.
- 22:53Speaker 5: And then he went on to say, well she she's
- 22:57Speaker 5: got rose colored glasses. She doesn't asked me any hard questions.
- 23:01Speaker 5: And I think that's important. If you're talking about not
- 23:05Speaker 5: a TV show, not a dating situation, you're talking about marriage,
- 23:10Speaker 5: you need to ask the hard questions. And so they
- 23:13Speaker 5: started getting into that. What's interesting is he says easily
- 23:19Speaker 5: to Leslie, I love you. He doesn't do that for Teresa.
- 23:24Speaker 5: He never has. And on the you know, on the
- 23:27Speaker 5: home dates, on the home dates, Leslie's family said, are
- 23:31Speaker 5: you in love? He said a big smile. Teresa's just
- 23:37Speaker 5: didn't get it out. So so I've been paying attention
- 23:40Speaker 5: to that. And then but he had such a lovely
- 23:46Speaker 5: overnight with Leslie that he was just in. He was glowing,
- 23:52Speaker 5: he was in that, he was in it with Leslie.
- 23:56Speaker 5: And too soon here's Teresa riding horses and he's still
- 24:02Speaker 5: overwhelmed with his romantic night with Leslie, which really put
- 24:10Speaker 5: him in a place where how do you switch gears
- 24:12Speaker 5: like that so fast? He couldn't.
- 24:15Speaker 4: I would.
- 24:15Speaker 3: I wonder what would have been like if if they
- 24:17Speaker 3: switched and if Teresa went first.
- 24:20Speaker 5: Well, let me tell you, Teresa realized he was quiet,
- 24:25Speaker 5: and she realized he had had an opportunity to be
- 24:29Speaker 5: with Leslie. So this is the first time I was
- 24:32Speaker 5: impressed with Teresa. The girl brought it. She realized he
- 24:37Speaker 5: was quiet and she was following someone else who was amazing.
- 24:42Speaker 5: So Teresa started selling. I mean, she brought it, she said.
- 24:47Speaker 5: She said, Oh, I know you're thinking about you know her,
- 24:50Speaker 5: but let's you must still be kind of quiet, so
- 24:54Speaker 5: let's talk about her future. Let's talk about being together,
- 24:58Speaker 5: let's talk about holidays together. Teresa, who never impressed me
- 25:03Speaker 5: as being that aggressive, the girl just absolutely came out.
- 25:11Speaker 5: So he didn't know anything about her career.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Boo, she showed a whole different side of herself yesterday. Yeah,
- 25:17Speaker 3: I look at her differently now after she talked about
- 25:19Speaker 3: her career as well.
- 25:21Speaker 5: So she was far more accomplished than anyone realized. She
- 25:25Speaker 5: had come across early in the seas and frankly even
- 25:28Speaker 5: a little naive. I mean, you know, with the thing
- 25:31Speaker 5: with Kathy and zip It, and she just seemed a
- 25:33Speaker 5: little naive. But boom, she comes across as a strong,
- 25:37Speaker 5: capable woman and it's like whoa. And then she's talking
- 25:42Speaker 5: about their future together and their their bond and I
- 25:47Speaker 5: was like, who is this woman? She's just And then
- 25:51Speaker 5: in the morning he said this is the first day
- 25:57Speaker 5: of the rest of my life. That was huge. So
- 26:02Speaker 5: I think did well.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Theresa definitely did well, And I wanted to clarify that,
- 26:08Speaker 3: like love homemakers. My mom was a stay at home mom.
- 26:12Speaker 3: I just liked the way her demeanor changed when she
- 26:15Speaker 3: talked about her business.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I do.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Too, I do too.
- 26:20Speaker 5: She came across a very capable, very intelligent. She came
- 26:24Speaker 5: across as a woman, woman who gets it done and
- 26:28Speaker 5: who can take her situation and prove herself to do
- 26:32Speaker 5: what she needs to do. But she kept referring back
- 26:35Speaker 5: to Gary and the way they could do things together.
- 26:39Speaker 5: Now Leslie, the beautiful girl from Minneapolis, he said, you know,
- 26:46Speaker 5: are you going to well, let's talk about our life together.
- 26:48Speaker 5: Where are we going to be, where we're going to live?
- 26:51Speaker 5: I mean, if we're married. This this is a hard question.
- 26:56Speaker 5: Leslie cannot lead Minneapolis permanently. And she said, we'll figure
- 27:03Speaker 5: it out. Well, honey, you better figure it out before
- 27:06Speaker 5: the ring goes on.
- 27:07Speaker 3: He liked that they would figure it out together, that said,
- 27:09Speaker 3: he said, that's what he wanted to hear.
- 27:11Speaker 5: Yeah he did. He likes that. But if you're looking
- 27:14Speaker 5: at situations, those things you need to know because she
- 27:20Speaker 5: is so established in Minneapolis with her family. That's something
- 27:26Speaker 5: they need to work out before the wedding because those
- 27:29Speaker 5: kind of things are stressors on a relationship. So so
- 27:34Speaker 5: I thought, yeah, So anyway, I last night I totally
- 27:39Speaker 5: flipped on Theresa with her ability yet and her selling
- 27:45Speaker 5: herself and they obviously had. She obviously got rid of
- 27:52Speaker 5: the ghost of Leslie in the fantasy sweet I do
- 27:55Speaker 5: you know the girl brought it? That's all I can say.
- 27:58Speaker 2: You know, there's a few things that I want to
- 28:02Speaker 2: touch on with you. You know, this show has been
- 28:04Speaker 2: breaking barriers, and maybe I would say as much as
- 28:09Speaker 2: breaking barriers illuminating truth to life that I think we
- 28:15Speaker 2: have either forgotten, we've made taboo we don't want.
- 28:20Speaker 4: To think about.
- 28:21Speaker 2: But this episode was very much focused, as we would imagine,
- 28:24Speaker 2: on physical intimacy. Jesse and Gary sit down and they
- 28:28Speaker 2: have this this talk about what is expected, and Gary
- 28:31Speaker 2: is fairly upfront with he is willing, able and wanting
- 28:36Speaker 2: to be intimate in whatever way. Both parties kind of
- 28:40Speaker 2: feel comfortable with, right, and it's it's something different, you know,
- 28:45Speaker 2: I haven't seen people make out in their sixties and
- 28:49Speaker 2: seventies really in my life. I think it's actually really beautiful.
- 28:52Speaker 2: My parents are very physically you know, open with me.
- 28:58Speaker 2: As I grew up, it was never a secret that
- 29:00Speaker 2: they loved each other, that they were attracted to each other.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I found it to be a very beautiful thing in
- 29:04Speaker 2: our household, and I never doubted that they were still
- 29:08Speaker 2: attracted to each other. However, I haven't lived in my
- 29:11Speaker 2: household for fifteen years, and so I don't see that
- 29:14Speaker 2: as much anymore, right, And so I just want to
- 29:18Speaker 2: kind of ask you the broad question when it comes
- 29:20Speaker 2: to people in their sixties and seventies being physically intimate.
- 29:25Speaker 2: What do you think was going through the woman's mind
- 29:28Speaker 2: on this show as they were entering into the fantasy suitees,
- 29:30Speaker 2: What do you think was going on in Gary's mind?
- 29:32Speaker 2: You know, kind of how important is it still? Just
- 29:35Speaker 2: maybe clarify some of the things that we didn't get
- 29:38Speaker 2: through the conversation with Jesse and Gary that I think
- 29:40Speaker 2: would be really helpful for listeners to understand.
- 29:43Speaker 5: I think Gary approached it very well. It's a wonderful
- 29:50Speaker 5: part of a relationship, It's a wonderful part of your life.
- 29:54Speaker 5: It's a wonderful part with your partner and your sweetheart,
- 30:00Speaker 5: your forever love, and Gary wants that he's looking forward
- 30:05Speaker 5: to that, and it seems to me, I mean, didn't
- 30:10Speaker 5: Teresa kiss him on the first aid. I don't know,
- 30:12Speaker 5: but I mean the first day he promised it's grandkids.
- 30:15Speaker 5: No kissing on the first day. Well, there were several
- 30:18Speaker 5: ladies who fuckered up and grabbed him really quick. So
- 30:22Speaker 5: Gary's not a verse of kissing. He likes. He likes
- 30:27Speaker 5: the physical closeness of hugging. And he's just been very
- 30:32Speaker 5: very touchy feely though, you know, hugging with his ladies
- 30:35Speaker 5: and the whole season. And he came down to intimacy
- 30:39Speaker 5: I like some he explained it, we don't rush into it.
- 30:43Speaker 5: It's it's it's emotional. We savor it. We take it
- 30:49Speaker 5: slow and gentle and savor it. Well, I was kind
- 30:51Speaker 5: of I have to tell you, I was getting weak
- 30:54Speaker 5: in the knees when he was describing that. I think
- 31:01Speaker 5: he was just setting it up for a romantic evening
- 31:06Speaker 5: with the two of them, and I think that was
- 31:08Speaker 5: very important to both the ladies and to him that
- 31:13Speaker 5: they get close and have that time together. And frankly,
- 31:19Speaker 5: they're still young to have intimacy to have fun. But
- 31:24Speaker 5: that's an important part of marriage. It should be and frankly,
- 31:29Speaker 5: aries at have great age to still enjoy intimacy with
- 31:35Speaker 5: his sweeter.
- 31:46Speaker 3: So Gary said something like, I don't give a crap
- 31:51Speaker 3: what you guys are thinking out there, Like we're gonna
- 31:54Speaker 3: we're keeping this private, right, But sorry, Gary, we're a
- 31:58Speaker 3: podcast and we have to talk around things like this.
- 32:01Speaker 3: Do we think that he had sex with both of
- 32:03Speaker 3: them or one of them or none of them? Let's
- 32:06Speaker 3: just say it.
- 32:08Speaker 5: You know, you sign up for the Golden Bachelor. Yeah,
- 32:11Speaker 5: the Fantasy Suites. It's on TV. They close the lights
- 32:15Speaker 5: out and they turned the lights up, but do not disturb.
- 32:18Speaker 5: And next morning they're grinned from ear to ear.
- 32:22Speaker 3: I don't Yeah, I'm not so soul. I'm not one
- 32:25Speaker 3: hundred percent sold. Because of his little spiel where he
- 32:28Speaker 3: said like we can take it slow and stuff, I'm
- 32:30Speaker 3: wondering if in his head he's like, oh, let me
- 32:34Speaker 3: just wait till I pick my final one. I'd rather
- 32:36Speaker 3: just wait till there's one lady left. This is just
- 32:38Speaker 3: what I'm thinking. And I think that he felt so
- 32:40Speaker 3: connected to them through conversation in the in the fantasy Suite,
- 32:44Speaker 3: and he did say that, like wow, Like people at
- 32:47Speaker 3: home assume that it's all about sex, but actually it's
- 32:49Speaker 3: so special to have that private time. I think that
- 32:53Speaker 3: they could have just been smiling from the great connection
- 32:57Speaker 3: that they developed in the room.
- 32:59Speaker 5: Absolutely, like he said, nobody's business. It's our night together.
- 33:03Speaker 5: There's no cameras. We can talk about everything, we can
- 33:06Speaker 5: be together, we can struggle, we can talk, we can
- 33:10Speaker 5: kiss on it. You know, it's our night together, our
- 33:13Speaker 5: private time when we need that. Yet because there were
- 33:16Speaker 5: no cameras, so that takes the relationship really an important
- 33:21Speaker 5: step further. Whether or not they were intimate, they were close,
- 33:26Speaker 5: and it was it was, it was good. They were
- 33:31Speaker 5: all happy, they all everybody was happy about the overnights together.
- 33:35Speaker 3: So, sorry, Gary, we're speculating.
- 33:39Speaker 5: Sorry Gary, I think they had fun.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, I mean and I would and I would
- 33:45Speaker 2: say too, you know, for for anybody, intimacy means a
- 33:48Speaker 2: lot of different things. I mean, as long as they
- 33:49Speaker 2: were intimate, Yeah, and the Fantasy Suites did what it
- 33:52Speaker 2: was supposed to do, which bring brings them together and
- 33:55Speaker 2: allows them the space. I think it's you know, it
- 33:59Speaker 2: was a really I never got the sense from Gary
- 34:02Speaker 2: in his conversation with Jesse that he wasn't prepared to
- 34:06Speaker 2: go wherever they felt like as a couple in the
- 34:10Speaker 2: moment they needed to go or wanted to go, or
- 34:13Speaker 2: you know, desired to go. I think for me, it
- 34:16Speaker 2: was an interesting conversation to have somebody in their seventies
- 34:19Speaker 2: explaining that process of what was on his mind and
- 34:22Speaker 2: what was he thinking. You know, I know, you know,
- 34:25Speaker 2: from being around so many bachelors and so many leads,
- 34:29Speaker 2: sometimes there is this like undertone of I just can't
- 34:32Speaker 2: wait to get to the fantasy suite to release everything
- 34:34Speaker 2: that's been going on for the last three months. I
- 34:37Speaker 2: don't you know, yes, it's gonna be great to be intimate,
- 34:39Speaker 2: but like I have a lot on my mind that
- 34:41Speaker 2: is just going to be let go, a lot in
- 34:44Speaker 2: my body it's gonna be let go during the fantasy suites.
- 34:47Speaker 2: I didn't get that sense from Gary. And so, you know,
- 34:50Speaker 2: the question that I can out of answer myself, that
- 34:53Speaker 2: I know you could answer for us is how does
- 34:55Speaker 2: intimacy change maybe from your twenties, thirties to then sixties
- 34:59Speaker 2: and seven.
- 35:01Speaker 5: I think Gary described it. It's it's softer gentler, sweeter more.
- 35:08Speaker 5: Really you just you you, you really try to be
- 35:14Speaker 5: considered of your partner. Right now. I had a little awi,
- 35:20Speaker 5: so I've got you know, I'm temporary, little temporary, but
- 35:26Speaker 5: that's life. So you have to be considered of your partner,
- 35:32Speaker 5: their feelings and you know, life events and so. But
- 35:36Speaker 5: Gary came across that, it's it's let's let's be together,
- 35:43Speaker 5: let's have pillow talk, let's take a gentle and slow
- 35:49Speaker 5: and let's let's go where we want to go. And
- 35:54Speaker 5: there he's very considerate, very thoughtful, very kind, and I
- 36:00Speaker 5: really like his attitude.
- 36:02Speaker 3: And he.
- 36:05Speaker 5: Made it very clear, I'm seventy two, I'm still romantic.
- 36:09Speaker 5: I'm looking for a romantic partner. So honestly, he handled
- 36:13Speaker 5: it so well. Whether or not whatever they did, they
- 36:16Speaker 5: were close and it worked for them because Harry seems
- 36:21Speaker 5: to be an emotionally caring and considerate partner. So I'm
- 36:27Speaker 5: you know, it worked for them.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Leslie asked him, when was the last time you had sex?
- 36:33Speaker 3: And he said a very long time. We speculated last
- 36:37Speaker 3: week with that, assuming that that's what he was going
- 36:40Speaker 3: to sort of say that it had been. In my opinion,
- 36:43Speaker 3: I think that it was his wife. After seeing that
- 36:48Speaker 3: conversation unfold, do you think that she should have asked
- 36:50Speaker 3: him on camera or just waited for that question till
- 36:52Speaker 3: the fantasy suites.
- 36:54Speaker 5: Well, the camera theoretically is not supposed to be there.
- 36:59Speaker 5: I mean, it's there, so we're watching. But they're building
- 37:02Speaker 5: a relationship. He asked her to ask him some hard questions.
- 37:08Speaker 5: That's that's a question that a couple can discuss. So
- 37:13Speaker 5: that's just one of the things that if you're on
- 37:16Speaker 5: The Bachelor over your shoulder, but they were in theory,
- 37:22Speaker 5: they're trying to build a relationship, and that was a
- 37:25Speaker 5: valid question and act in new couples coming together sometimes
- 37:31Speaker 5: that needs to be you need to have that discussions
- 37:35Speaker 5: because that way it gives you enough information so you
- 37:40Speaker 5: can be more considered with your partner. You can be
- 37:43Speaker 5: more gentle or take it take it slow, whatever they needs.
- 37:49Speaker 5: But you have to understand each other that way. And
- 37:53Speaker 5: I think it was a very valid question.
- 37:56Speaker 2: This is coming from a guy who has asked straight
- 37:58Speaker 2: up on The bachelor're at if I was a virgin,
- 38:01Speaker 2: And that wasn't a question I was prepared to answer,
- 38:04Speaker 2: but it was also very important to answer. I think
- 38:06Speaker 2: for Caitlin at the time, and would I have preferred
- 38:09Speaker 2: her to ask me off camera? I don't know, because,
- 38:11Speaker 2: as you said, every you kind of at some point
- 38:14Speaker 2: have to get over it. You just have to know that, yes,
- 38:16Speaker 2: you've signed up to get your life exposed on national television.
- 38:20Speaker 4: Earlier on sureI we.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Broke down the episode before we brought you on, kind
- 38:26Speaker 2: of just giving our overall synopsis of what we experienced
- 38:30Speaker 2: watching it. One of the things that I experienced watching
- 38:33Speaker 2: it was I felt and my wife felt. She said
- 38:37Speaker 2: it actually before I did that. There was it seemed
- 38:40Speaker 2: like a distance, a more of a distance between Gary
- 38:44Speaker 2: and Leslie when they woke up in the morning. Yes,
- 38:47Speaker 2: they were smiling, but she felt like, hey, he something
- 38:51Speaker 2: like he's pushed away a little bit more than he
- 38:53Speaker 2: was the night before. Would you agree with that sentiment?
- 38:56Speaker 2: Did you feel that or did you see something different?
- 39:00Speaker 5: Well, it was interesting because he repeatedly told Leslie that
- 39:07Speaker 5: he loved her and he was committed, okay, so that
- 39:11Speaker 5: was significant. The next morning when he went to meet
- 39:15Speaker 5: with Teresa, his mind was still with Leslie, and I
- 39:19Speaker 5: wonder what Leslie's doing right now. So Teresa really had
- 39:24Speaker 5: to come from behind because he he was still in
- 39:27Speaker 5: the fantasy suite with Leslie and he couldn't get over it.
- 39:31Speaker 5: You know, well it's time for Leslie to leave, and
- 39:34Speaker 5: you know, here comes Teresa. It was it was too
- 39:37Speaker 5: fast the switch for him mentally and emotionally. So Teresa
- 39:41Speaker 5: had to pull him in emotionally, she had to She
- 39:44Speaker 5: had to get his attention to like, hey, big guy,
- 39:47Speaker 5: let's talk about our future, you know, And she told
- 39:51Speaker 5: him she loved you. I mean she she really had
- 39:54Speaker 5: to overcome his break that connection, break makes the tra
- 40:00Speaker 5: chants with Teresa, and that's where I think she did
- 40:04Speaker 5: very very well. So he, I don't know, he had
- 40:07Speaker 5: a good time with Teresa. It took him a while to,
- 40:10Speaker 5: like I said, break out of that mentally, physically emotional
- 40:14Speaker 5: bubble he was in with Teresa. But he talked about
- 40:20Speaker 5: he would have an exciting life with Leslie. But he
- 40:24Speaker 5: and Teresa have that bond and they're connected on a
- 40:28Speaker 5: very fundamental basis. And when he spoke up with Teresa
- 40:32Speaker 5: said this is the first morning of the rest of
- 40:36Speaker 5: my life. Wow, I think that meant a lot.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Ben, I think that's a really good point. I
- 40:44Speaker 3: can I can feel that as well, if it weren't
- 40:47Speaker 3: for him saying on the date with Teresa that he
- 40:49Speaker 3: was in his head about Leslie, then I would have
- 40:52Speaker 3: probably made a bigger deal out of that, because it's
- 40:55Speaker 3: still it felt like he was still thinking about her
- 40:58Speaker 3: like a lot romantically, and they day. Jamie's Dave see.
- 41:02Speaker 2: As explaining earlier that the interesting thing to me would
- 41:07Speaker 2: be if he was so sold on Leslie going into
- 41:10Speaker 2: this week and then all of a sudden his something,
- 41:14Speaker 2: you know, maybe their connection wasn't what he expected, maybe
- 41:16Speaker 2: something was said that he wasn't ready for. Then I
- 41:21Speaker 2: would be in my own head too, because he had
- 41:23Speaker 2: just told Leslie the night before like you're it, which
- 41:27Speaker 2: was a.
- 41:27Speaker 3: Big mistake on I think that he's saying way too
- 41:31Speaker 3: much too soon because he's leading one of these ladies on.
- 41:35Speaker 2: But that would also cause you to be in your
- 41:37Speaker 2: own head. So you know, for me, I'm looking at
- 41:40Speaker 2: as he might have been in his own head for
- 41:42Speaker 2: two different reasons. One, yes, his mind was still with Leslie.
- 41:46Speaker 2: But if I had not been necessarily in the I
- 41:49Speaker 2: can't think of spending a day with anybody other than her.
- 41:52Speaker 2: It's might be, Hey, I told her she's the one
- 41:55Speaker 2: and I'm going to break her heart.
- 41:56Speaker 5: Yeah, he's an emotional guy, but he you know, he
- 42:02Speaker 5: says things that are to me, you're telling he can
- 42:05Speaker 5: have an exciting life with Leslie, but he feels safe
- 42:08Speaker 5: and bonded to Teresa's.
- 42:09Speaker 3: So he also said that he, you know, he had
- 42:14Speaker 3: his concern about Teresa to begin the date, where it
- 42:17Speaker 3: was like, oh, we're always bonding over our spouse is
- 42:21Speaker 3: having passed. I need to find out more about her
- 42:24Speaker 3: beyond that, because maybe that's just like our only bond.
- 42:27Speaker 3: That being said, I do almost feel like it's an
- 42:29Speaker 3: important I feel like it's maybe a very important bond
- 42:32Speaker 3: to have because that's just something that they're going to
- 42:36Speaker 3: have to like having that understanding of each other, not abandoning,
- 42:44Speaker 3: just still having sad days throughout the year, like oh,
- 42:46Speaker 3: that's the day that my wife passed, and having somebody
- 42:48Speaker 3: that like understands that is going to be so critical.
- 42:51Speaker 3: I feel like, and Leslie is very far from understanding that,
- 42:55Speaker 3: since she never even had like what she thinks is
- 42:57Speaker 3: like a great love.
- 42:59Speaker 5: So my concern about Leslie from the beginning is her
- 43:02Speaker 5: two failed marriages have hurt her and she's she's been abused,
- 43:06Speaker 5: she's been abandoned, she has her her walls up, and
- 43:11Speaker 5: Teresa has that in common with him. They had the
- 43:14Speaker 5: long term marriage, they had the love, they lost their spouse,
- 43:19Speaker 5: So you're right there, there's a disconnect there, and in
- 43:23Speaker 5: that way, Teresa is a much better mass match because
- 43:27Speaker 5: Unlesslie goes into another relationship, she's just going to bring
- 43:30Speaker 5: some baggage. She's just she's got it. She's She's mentioned
- 43:34Speaker 5: it the whole season, so she's going to bring that
- 43:37Speaker 5: baggage in and she has to learn to trust, and
- 43:41Speaker 5: Teresa's light years beyond that.
- 43:43Speaker 2: The show is always really good, Sharia giving us little
- 43:47Speaker 2: foreshadowing of what is to come, and they sneak it
- 43:51Speaker 2: in in weird places, but as a fan like you,
- 43:54Speaker 2: you usually can pick up on it. And there's a
- 43:57Speaker 2: phrase that Leslie says, she goes, I always sabotage it.
- 44:01Speaker 2: I always sabotage good things. And it felt like to me,
- 44:05Speaker 2: that was a weird moment to throw that in unless
- 44:09Speaker 2: something is to come, and I am expecting something to
- 44:13Speaker 2: come when it comes to the relationship between Gary and Leslie.
- 44:16Speaker 2: As the season progresses, sure, as we say goodbye to
- 44:20Speaker 2: you now, is there anything that we didn't ask you about.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Any thoughts on The Golden Bachelor that you'd like to
- 44:24Speaker 2: share with everybody listening.
- 44:27Speaker 5: I think the Golden Bachelor's a wonderful idea. They picked
- 44:30Speaker 5: the right guy. America of women of all ages have
- 44:33Speaker 5: fallen in love with Harry, and so I hope that continues.
- 44:37Speaker 5: It's just been great fun, and it's been great fun
- 44:40Speaker 5: talking with you guys. Thank you so much.
- 44:43Speaker 3: Thank you so much. Man, you are pro at interviews.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Thanks Sherry Suri, thank you. All right, Ben, final wager
- 44:51Speaker 3: before we sign off. We have two weeks until we
- 44:55Speaker 3: find out who Gary picks. Who do you think is
- 44:58Speaker 3: going to be?
- 45:00Speaker 2: I've ridden the Teresa train for a long time, and
- 45:02Speaker 2: it's too late in the season to get off of it.
- 45:05Speaker 3: Okay, Well, I was shocked that she got by last week,
- 45:10Speaker 3: and now I'm starting to feel more fifty to fifty
- 45:13Speaker 3: hilariously on her versus Leslie.
- 45:16Speaker 2: It's ridiculous. Ashley cannot believe that you're not sold out yet.
- 45:20Speaker 4: I am.
- 45:22Speaker 2: I am so convinced with the way the story is
- 45:25Speaker 2: being being unfold in front of her eyes that Teresa
- 45:29Speaker 2: and Gary will be there in the end. I will
- 45:31Speaker 2: say this as a thought. Somebody's been there, somebody's walked
- 45:36Speaker 2: through it with real life. He has a lot of
- 45:39Speaker 2: explaining to do, and he has a lot of probably
- 45:43Speaker 2: after watching this episode specifically, he's going to have a
- 45:48Speaker 2: lot of things that need to be undone that you
- 45:51Speaker 2: cannot undo necessarily without a lot of work, a lot
- 45:55Speaker 2: of communication, a lot of validation. I think he's I
- 46:00Speaker 2: think it's going to be a really hard episode for
- 46:03Speaker 2: really whoever is with him at the end to watch Ben.
- 46:08Speaker 3: We love Gary, right, America loves Gary. If this was
- 46:11Speaker 3: a thirty year old guy saying all this stuff, would
- 46:14Speaker 3: he be able to get away with this?
- 46:17Speaker 4: No? No shot, no shot?
- 46:20Speaker 2: Well, I mean maybe I kind of did the similar
- 46:23Speaker 2: a similar thing, right, He didn't.
- 46:25Speaker 3: Milk it, So you didn't say it so so much
- 46:28Speaker 3: so many times.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Yeah, And I don't know if I got away with it.
- 46:31Speaker 2: I don't think I didn't, And you didn't.
- 46:32Speaker 3: You said it so much more simply, and you didn't
- 46:35Speaker 3: get away with it.
- 46:36Speaker 2: I'm worried about Gary, but here's the thing, I've been
- 46:39Speaker 2: there and I can't I'm not mad at him for this.
- 46:41Speaker 2: I know his emotions are all over the place, and
- 46:43Speaker 2: I know he's saying what he's feeling, and I know
- 46:47Speaker 2: he's to being as honest and as authentic as he
- 46:49Speaker 2: can with who he's with. I'm not mad at him
- 46:53Speaker 2: for it. I'm not angry at Gary. I don't have
- 46:56Speaker 2: any ill will towards Gary. I don't think he means
- 47:00Speaker 2: to be doing what he's doing. I will just say
- 47:03Speaker 2: Gary's in trouble. He's in big trouble, and it can't
- 47:07Speaker 2: be easy in whatever household he's now spending his time in.
- 47:11Speaker 3: But I will say I do feel like both these
- 47:12Speaker 3: ladies will be far more forgiving than maybe a lady
- 47:16Speaker 3: of her twenties or thirties.
- 47:19Speaker 2: I think that's a part that is worth Yeah, definitely
- 47:21Speaker 2: considering is the partner in this is probably saying I
- 47:24Speaker 2: get it, I get it, You're doing your best. Hey,
- 47:28Speaker 2: it's going to be an incredible, incredible couple. Well really,
- 47:34Speaker 2: one more episode, Yeah, one more episode we get next
- 47:36Speaker 2: week off. It's obviously the holidays, we're going to be
- 47:38Speaker 2: celebrating the holidays, and then the next week I am
- 47:42Speaker 2: going to be on the edge of my seat to
- 47:44Speaker 2: see how this plays out. Neither of us know, but
- 47:48Speaker 2: we have our intuitions. I'm gonna be sad to see
- 47:52Speaker 2: it go ash It's fired me up in a way
- 47:54Speaker 2: I haven't been fired up before.
- 47:57Speaker 3: I'm gonna be sad to see this version of you
- 48:00Speaker 3: gone to I.
- 48:02Speaker 4: Don't know if we'll ever get it again. Yeah, and
- 48:04Speaker 4: hopefully we will.
- 48:05Speaker 3: As we discussed in the past couple of weeks, we
- 48:07Speaker 3: have no idea if it'll be renewed again. Ratings wise,
- 48:10Speaker 3: it certainly should be, but it'll be up to the creators,
- 48:13Speaker 3: so maybe we'll get more word in two weeks. Until then,
- 48:17Speaker 3: Love you guys, Thank you so much.
