- 0:22Speaker 1: Is he a classic sports radio debate? All right, did the.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Calves win that game last night? Or did the Pistons
- 0:31Speaker 2: lose that game last night?
- 0:32Speaker 3: That's on the mount rushmore of around the horn questions,
- 0:35Speaker 3: Like I think Tony really should somehow copyright that particular
- 0:40Speaker 3: question and everybody has to pay him every time they ask.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Yeah, but the series started, I mean, congratulations about the
- 0:49Speaker 2: Calves and Pistons.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Your series finally started.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Well for the Calves, their playoffs have finally started, because
- 0:54Speaker 3: they do nothing but win home games and lose road
- 0:58Speaker 3: games so far. That one, to me felt like very typical.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Like both of those teams played like you would expect
- 1:08Speaker 3: them to given the makeup of their team down the stretch,
- 1:11Speaker 3: right the Pistons where they basically rely so much on
- 1:14Speaker 3: Kate Cunningham, Like whatever happened to Jalen Durwan during these playoffs,
- 1:17Speaker 3: I don't know, he was zapped of all his powers,
- 1:19Speaker 3: it feels like, and they sort of strangle that guy
- 1:23Speaker 3: and makes somebody else have to step up. And it's
- 1:26Speaker 3: been Tobias Harris, but it just wasn't yesterday. And then
- 1:30Speaker 3: you've got the Calves, who are like a spurtable team, right,
- 1:34Speaker 3: you remember that term spurtability, Like they have that type
- 1:37Speaker 3: of team that it's like bam, bam bam, all of
- 1:38Speaker 3: a sudden, it's three back to back, threees and it
- 1:40Speaker 3: could be, you know, a ten oh run or something
- 1:43Speaker 3: like that. And so it felt like both teams kind
- 1:46Speaker 3: of played somehow to their strengths down the stretch. But
- 1:49Speaker 3: it feels like the Calves.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Kind of win and got it.
- 1:52Speaker 3: And that's why I am not mad about that not
- 1:54Speaker 3: foul call, nonfoul call at the end.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Okay, that's what I was just about to ask you,
- 1:59Speaker 5: is he the I thought it was pretty clearsar Thomson
- 2:04Speaker 5: got tripped up by Jared Allen. And I get if
- 2:07Speaker 5: you're a referee in that situation and you don't want
- 2:09Speaker 5: to decide a game calling a foul that far away
- 2:12Speaker 5: from the basket with such a little time left. But
- 2:16Speaker 5: did it not seem like a pretty obvious.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Trip calling that foul with such little time left? But
- 2:23Speaker 3: the Pistons not having any timeouts, right, so play that out.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Let's say Jared does not foul him or trip a
- 2:29Speaker 3: sar if he tries to pass the ball. I think
- 2:32Speaker 3: it was Dennis Jenkins that was streaking up the court.
- 2:34Speaker 3: If he tries to pass it to Dannis, it's not
- 2:36Speaker 3: getting there in time for him to get.
- 2:38Speaker 1: A shot off.
- 2:38Speaker 3: So Asar has to basically take one dribble and take
- 2:41Speaker 3: a sixty footer and that is and when you look
- 2:44Speaker 3: at the foot to foot contact, it was just foot
- 2:48Speaker 3: to foot contact on the side right.
- 2:50Speaker 4: It wasn't like he went under and tripped a sar.
- 2:53Speaker 3: So if I'm an official, I'm looking at that, I'm like,
- 2:56Speaker 3: that's the ultimate bailout.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Ultimate bailout es actually when we can just go to overtime.
- 3:02Speaker 3: And so I would have hated if I was a
- 3:04Speaker 3: Cleveland fan at that time, I would have continuously and
- 3:07Speaker 3: they would have called the foul. I would have just
- 3:09Speaker 3: showed over and over again, just their feet basically touching,
- 3:12Speaker 3: because that's all that was. And and I'm gonna look
- 3:15Speaker 3: this up right now, Asar Thompson's free throw percentage in
- 3:20Speaker 3: the playoffs, because it's not good.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I mean, this is shocking. No one loves Asar Thompson
- 3:24Speaker 2: more than is he. He loves all Thompson's.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think he deserved that bailout. It was
- 3:28Speaker 4: going to be a bailout.
- 3:29Speaker 3: He is shooting fifty three point eight percent from the
- 3:31Speaker 3: free throw line in the postseason, and he probably would
- 3:35Speaker 3: have missed both of those.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, I don't know about both of them. He
- 3:38Speaker 2: just has to hit one. They win that game. It's
- 3:40Speaker 2: not the way aesthetically, it's not the way you want
- 3:43Speaker 2: a game to end where a guy gets tripped, he
- 3:45Speaker 2: goes to the foul lawn and he hits a foul shot.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Maybe it's a coin toss, but he hits a foul
- 3:50Speaker 2: shot literally and they win the game. But and it's
- 3:53Speaker 2: such a tricky thing. I don't want the game to
- 3:56Speaker 2: end that way. But I don't care about the piston
- 3:58Speaker 2: to the caves. In fact, that just that series to
- 4:00Speaker 2: go seven games. I don't want to see it end
- 4:02Speaker 2: that way. I'd prefer to go to overtime. But it
- 4:05Speaker 2: was a foul, I mean, and a fouls of foul
- 4:08Speaker 2: fourth quarter, first quarter, second quarter fouls A foul.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say even in the regular first three quarters,
- 4:17Speaker 3: three and a half quarters, that doesn't always get called.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Like that's one of those two where, especially in the
- 4:24Speaker 3: first three quarters, where you kind of look at it
- 4:25Speaker 3: and maybe you'll get like a late whistle because it's like, well,
- 4:28Speaker 3: he must have been tripped up right, but again in
- 4:30Speaker 3: that spot. And I've seen other games and maybe this
- 4:34Speaker 3: is a little older, right before the challenge and all
- 4:36Speaker 3: that stuff, and when referees were encouraged to make calls
- 4:38Speaker 3: because then you could challenge it if it's wrong, whatever.
- 4:40Speaker 3: But I've seen a lot of non calls that are
- 4:43Speaker 3: way more egregious than that late in games, like it's
- 4:46Speaker 3: a tough way to lose. I know you're right, Stu,
- 4:48Speaker 3: but you had overtime. You had overtime to get over it.
- 4:51Speaker 3: And not only that, you just absolutely got continued to
- 4:55Speaker 3: get clocked because what was it a nine to zero
- 4:57Speaker 3: run that the Calves ended the regulation with? Okay, like
- 5:00Speaker 3: even a SAR said it, not gonna blame the refs,
- 5:02Speaker 3: felt like a foul. Not gonna blame the refs because
- 5:04Speaker 3: they played horribly down the stretch.
- 5:06Speaker 5: Stude, stop me if you've heard this before. Yeah, well
- 5:09Speaker 5: when the when the Calves or when the Pistons were
- 5:12Speaker 5: up one oh three to ninety four ESPN probability.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I mean, it's unbelievable these crazy things were watching in
- 5:25Speaker 3: sports like this has clearly never happened before, all these
- 5:27Speaker 3: games turning on a dime, like that.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Yeah, Taylor has purchased Game one tickets to the NBA
- 5:33Speaker 2: to the Eastern Conference Finals in Detroit because he knows
- 5:36Speaker 2: if it goes to Madison Square Garden they take on
- 5:38Speaker 2: the Cavs, it benefits us. I'm not certain who he's
- 5:41Speaker 2: rooting for because he wants to go to game one,
- 5:44Speaker 2: but Game one of the Mecca is way more expensive.
- 5:46Speaker 1: So what is going on here with you, Taylor?
- 5:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I've been priced out of I'm looking at the
- 5:51Speaker 5: prices for Madison Square Garden moving forward. I've been priced
- 5:54Speaker 5: out for the remainder of the playoffs. So I was looking,
- 5:58Speaker 5: and when the Pistons were up one oh three, whatever
- 6:02Speaker 5: ninety six it was, I was like, let me get
- 6:05Speaker 5: a ticket to Game one in Detroit. It's it's cheaper
- 6:07Speaker 5: to sit lower level, get a flight to Detroit, get
- 6:10Speaker 5: a hotel in Detroit. Then it would be even trying
- 6:13Speaker 5: to enter one foot into the mecca, Madison Square Garden, Right,
- 6:18Speaker 5: So I buy, I buy the ticket for Game one
- 6:21Speaker 5: in Detroit. Still still a pretty expensive ticket, but nothing
- 6:26Speaker 5: can compare to Madison Square Garden. And then all of
- 6:28Speaker 5: a sudden, Max Struce started lighting it up, and I
- 6:33Speaker 5: was like Oh man, this is I think you could
- 6:36Speaker 5: pinpoint the exact moment, the Cavs moment came back the
- 6:39Speaker 5: second I checked out with Apple Pey.
- 6:41Speaker 4: I'm glad you, bro.
- 6:43Speaker 3: I'm still glad you brought up Max Streuce because I
- 6:46Speaker 3: feel like Charles Barkley has opened a door for me.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Did you did you hear what he said last night?
- 6:50Speaker 1: Oh?
- 6:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw the post game where he just he
- 6:53Speaker 2: was he was overwhelmed by how good looking Max Streuce is.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Yeah, he said quote, he's a pretty man, and he's like,
- 6:58Speaker 3: I like his face, And I feel like if Charles
- 7:01Speaker 3: Barkley can say that, I can now say that about anybody.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yes, well you can.
- 7:06Speaker 3: I mean, well not really right, because it's not like
- 7:10Speaker 3: you guys can go on here and just like start
- 7:12Speaker 3: ogling at like some WNBA player and be like, well
- 7:15Speaker 3: she's gorgeous and not feel weird.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Right, So I say it, it's gonna be a little weird.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Charles Barkley, I don't know. I think he maybe kind
- 7:21Speaker 3: of open the door for me.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Right, that's a fair point.
- 7:24Speaker 2: You say it, and you might actually be attracted to
- 7:26Speaker 2: the person you're talking about, Charles Barkley. It's just kind
- 7:28Speaker 2: of making a joke tongue in che right, I understand
- 7:31Speaker 2: what you're saying.
- 7:32Speaker 1: So you feel like he's opened the portal for everyone?
- 7:34Speaker 3: Now, yeah, you know, if I feel like talking about
- 7:36Speaker 3: somebody's attractiveness, I'm gonna do it, and then everybody else
- 7:39Speaker 3: guess whether or not I want to sleep with them?
- 7:41Speaker 1: Is he?
- 7:42Speaker 5: When I'm watching this Pistons Calves game yesterday and really
- 7:45Speaker 5: the series as a whole, with some of the swings
- 7:48Speaker 5: and some of the individual player performances that we've seen,
- 7:52Speaker 5: my first thought was if the Pistons and Calves were
- 7:55Speaker 5: wearing sixers and Knick jerseys, we would be talking about
- 7:58Speaker 5: this series like it was an all times Yeah, I'm.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Actually I was trying to talk about Strew so you
- 8:04Speaker 3: guys wouldn't hammer me on the James Harden conversation because now, no, we're.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Getting to it. Don't you worry about it. We haven't forgotten.
- 8:10Speaker 3: I mean, he's having a bit of a rebound in
- 8:12Speaker 3: this very postseason I wouldn't credit for it.
- 8:15Speaker 2: If I were you, by the way, I would that's
- 8:17Speaker 2: the move. Take credit you inspired James better?
- 8:20Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 8:21Speaker 3: Does he thinks he's a big Fox Sports radio guy.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Just take credit regardless. Just take it.
- 8:27Speaker 3: You're welcome, even though I don't want to take credit
- 8:29Speaker 3: for him because I don't want him to do better,
- 8:30Speaker 3: because I don't want people to think he's better than
- 8:32Speaker 3: Dwayne Wade, so I don't really want to take credit
- 8:34Speaker 3: for it. I'm all tied up here, Stue, I don't
- 8:36Speaker 3: know what to do. So Streuce, would you? I mean, Taylor,
- 8:41Speaker 3: you go.
- 8:43Speaker 5: I need James Harden to get out of the playoffs
- 8:45Speaker 5: as soon as possible, because I know the conversation around
- 8:48Speaker 5: a lot of players right now is the foul bating,
- 8:51Speaker 5: the free throw merchants. Jalen Brunson gets those accusations. SGA
- 8:56Speaker 5: gets those accusations. James Harden is the godfather of it,
- 9:00Speaker 5: and he does it in a way that is so
- 9:04Speaker 5: over the top and such a dis If James Nasmith
- 9:08Speaker 5: dig him out of his grave and have him watch
- 9:10Speaker 5: James Harden, he would be throwing up right now.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Yeah, he would be. He'd be a halt.
- 9:16Speaker 2: He's is he He is in the worst shape of
- 9:19Speaker 2: any professional athlete I've ever seen.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I mean, gasping for air and overtime. Jesus christ Man.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Steve, I told you before, like there was a former
- 9:27Speaker 3: teammate of his bragging about how he would be out
- 9:30Speaker 3: till four or five in the morning the night before
- 9:31Speaker 3: games and just come back absolutely cooking, even though you
- 9:34Speaker 3: know his teammate was hung over. And I'm like, I
- 9:36Speaker 3: don't know if that's something to be proud of, And
- 9:38Speaker 3: I wonder if that's why he sort of fades away
- 9:40Speaker 3: in the postseason.
- 9:41Speaker 5: Some of the fowls that are being called for James Harden,
- 9:46Speaker 5: they're getting challenge and they're going to the replay and
- 9:49Speaker 5: Mike Breen and Legler are watching it and they're like,
- 9:52Speaker 5: it's by the letter of lots of foul, but also like,
- 9:55Speaker 5: if you go back two steps further, James Harden is
- 9:58Speaker 5: very clearly just shoving the defender off, and it's like, wait,
- 10:02Speaker 5: if you're challenging if that's a foul, can you not
- 10:05Speaker 5: go back and challenge if the hard and push off
- 10:07Speaker 5: is a foul.
- 10:08Speaker 4: It's the hardened conundrum. It's his entire career. It's why
- 10:10Speaker 4: people like basketball purists are just kind of.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Like, man, I don't know if I want to embrace this,
- 10:15Speaker 3: because it is just working around the rules to try
- 10:19Speaker 3: like he is, Yes, he is quick, he's got good handles.
- 10:22Speaker 3: He's not crazy athletic, he is not like I don't know,
- 10:25Speaker 3: he just definitely uses the rules in his favor and yes,
- 10:28Speaker 3: quick enough to get by you. And then you're at
- 10:31Speaker 3: he's at, You're at his mercy. You're at his mercy.
- 10:34Speaker 3: But at this age he's not doing that anymore. So
- 10:37Speaker 3: to be able to get to the line fourteen times
- 10:39Speaker 3: in a game against one of you know probably maybe
- 10:42Speaker 3: you know, top two defensive teams left in the playoffs,
- 10:44Speaker 3: like that's that probably is something that got a handful
- 10:49Speaker 3: of favorable calls.
- 10:50Speaker 2: I thought Tim Legler yesterday said it perfectly. There is
- 10:54Speaker 2: no greater disparity between the floor and the ceiling in
- 10:58Speaker 2: terms of someone's game than games Harden and the ceiling
- 11:01Speaker 2: is what makes you so frustrated about the floor, because
- 11:04Speaker 2: the ceiling is one of the best players we've ever
- 11:07Speaker 2: seen in NBA history. But when he falls off, it's awful.
- 11:11Speaker 2: It's embarrassing. And as Taylor pointed out, if you dug
- 11:15Speaker 2: who are you digging out of a grave to check
- 11:17Speaker 2: out Jay Smithy, he meant there a basketball. If you
- 11:20Speaker 2: dug Naysmith out of the grave, he'd be appalled. By
- 11:23Speaker 2: James Harden on certain nights and if you drive, you know,
- 11:25Speaker 2: if you took him out of the grave on another night,
- 11:27Speaker 2: he would be like, oh my god, look good bye.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Game turned into look how great this guy is. It's crazy.
- 11:33Speaker 3: He'd be like, did he not ask him to rest
- 11:35Speaker 3: in peace? Like, please stop digging me up. I'm tired
- 11:37Speaker 3: of checking it on that.
- 11:39Speaker 4: I would have invented it.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Seriously, this is well at Disney's gig not mine.
- 11:56Speaker 5: Is you mentioned Jalen Duran before and I'm watching that
- 12:01Speaker 5: and I'm wondering, like, if you're the Pistons, what do
- 12:04Speaker 5: you do with Jalen Durham, Because he's probably going to
- 12:07Speaker 5: be an All NBA player this season with what he
- 12:10Speaker 5: did filling in for Kate Cunningham and being the guy
- 12:14Speaker 5: that helped the Pistons get to a one seed.
- 12:16Speaker 4: But he it looks like.
- 12:18Speaker 5: If you watched them in the regular season and you
- 12:20Speaker 5: watch them in the postseason, it looks like a completely
- 12:23Speaker 5: different player in the playoffs.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Well, no, I would say this, and no one's glued
- 12:26Speaker 2: to the Pistons like I am, and to these NBA
- 12:29Speaker 2: playoffs the way I am. Jalen Duran offensively has been
- 12:33Speaker 2: up and down the entire season. Like, if you're expecting
- 12:36Speaker 2: him to be consistent, then you haven't been watching the
- 12:38Speaker 2: Pistons like I have the entire season.
- 12:40Speaker 1: He's a roller coaster, is he is?
- 12:42Speaker 3: He is, And part of the problem is he's very
- 12:45Speaker 3: reliant on Kate Cunningham doing his work in order to
- 12:48Speaker 3: be open, in order to find space under the paint,
- 12:51Speaker 3: in order to you know, catch lobs. And while Caid
- 12:54Speaker 3: has been finding his way for the most part, against
- 12:56Speaker 3: a lot of double teams and a lot of extra attention,
- 12:59Speaker 3: he's been finding his way to you know, get his
- 13:03Speaker 3: own buckets and also navigating what these tougher defenses are, Hey,
- 13:08Speaker 3: where are my guys going to be? Can I trust them?
- 13:10Speaker 3: Are they still going to be there? Jalen just doesn't
- 13:13Speaker 3: seem to be in the right spots. Jalen just doesn't
- 13:15Speaker 3: seem to be you know, catching and finishing in traffic
- 13:17Speaker 3: and stuff like that, and so it just makes you
- 13:20Speaker 3: wonder if he's like deflated. It honestly feels like one
- 13:23Speaker 3: of these situations where at the end of the season
- 13:24Speaker 3: you're going to find out, oh, yeah, Jalen was dealing
- 13:26Speaker 3: with some injury that we just didn't want to say
- 13:28Speaker 3: anything about because he's such an explosive athlete, he's such
- 13:31Speaker 3: a great defender.
- 13:32Speaker 4: He's a guy.
- 13:33Speaker 3: That should be able to get you like twelve points
- 13:35Speaker 3: by accident, just by hanging around the bucket, you know,
- 13:38Speaker 3: And instead you can't even play him down the stretch
- 13:40Speaker 3: of a game like maybe your most important yeah, your
- 13:43Speaker 3: most important game of the season. It's just mind like,
- 13:46Speaker 3: it's confusing.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Is he?
- 13:48Speaker 2: In many ways, Evan Mobley reminds me of of Wemby.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Is that is that unfair?
- 13:53Speaker 2: I know Wemby's great, he's a better player, but god,
- 13:55Speaker 2: Mobiley's so talented.
- 13:57Speaker 1: He should be better. And he's really good right now.
- 13:59Speaker 3: You know, I thought you were gonna say bam out
- 14:01Speaker 3: of bio because that is the thing with him. He
- 14:03Speaker 3: looks when he's good, he looks amazing. He won Defensive
- 14:06Speaker 3: Player of the Year. He looks like a guy who
- 14:08Speaker 3: should be able to do a lot offensively. His arms
- 14:11Speaker 3: just keep going. But there are times where he doesn't.
- 14:14Speaker 3: There are times where you just don't know what you're
- 14:15Speaker 3: gonna get out of him. Same thing with Jared Allen
- 14:18Speaker 3: outside of Black History Month, and so yeah, it's it's confounding,
- 14:22Speaker 3: but it's also just to keep things consistent for you.
- 14:24Speaker 4: It's confounding and confusing.
- 14:26Speaker 3: And but it is a guy that when he plays
- 14:29Speaker 3: at his top level, you're looking at that team, it's like, yeah,
- 14:31Speaker 3: he should be disgustingly good when you've got Donovan Mitchell,
- 14:36Speaker 3: James Harden a dpoy in the middle and you know
- 14:38Speaker 3: a guy like Max Strew's sitting six threes off the bench, like,
- 14:41Speaker 3: it should be a really damn good team. And so
- 14:43Speaker 3: it's not surprising when you see him play the way
- 14:45Speaker 3: he plays.
- 14:46Speaker 2: What is the exact accusation you're making there on Black
- 14:48Speaker 2: History Month?
- 14:49Speaker 3: Oh no, that's famously jet Jared Allen on Black History
- 14:52Speaker 3: Month goes to another level like he's just really that's
- 14:54Speaker 3: his nickname is Black History Month?
- 14:56Speaker 4: Jared Allen? I think?
- 14:57Speaker 1: Huh? I mean.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Someone whoever is coach used to try to convince them
- 15:03Speaker 2: that every month there's Black History Months.
- 15:07Speaker 4: That's a trick. But if it works, man, we've got
- 15:10Speaker 4: an All NBA player.
- 15:11Speaker 5: So quick Google search says Jared Allen's nickname is the fro.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Well, that's one of them.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Does it say anywhere that it's Black History Month?
- 15:21Speaker 3: Just google Black History month, Jared Allen, it'll all be
- 15:23Speaker 3: I'll do this day.
- 15:25Speaker 2: And by the way, look up Game three tickets in Cleveland.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I want to know what they're what they're priced at.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Right now.
- 15:31Speaker 1: He's looking it up.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Maybe it's not so much a nickname as it's just
- 15:35Speaker 3: a whole different persona for him.
- 15:36Speaker 2: It'd be a terrible nickname, a wordy nickname. There's no
- 15:39Speaker 2: way it's Black History month. Bhm Maybe bhmja.
- 15:44Speaker 5: That's what it's actually saying right now, it says, or
- 15:46Speaker 5: simply bhm JA.
- 15:50Speaker 4: What you think I make things up?
- 15:53Speaker 5: It's a Yahoo Sports article.
- 15:56Speaker 1: No, I don't think you make things up.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I Taylor was complaining yesterday, all fair. I'm not certain
- 16:06Speaker 2: if I was supposed to hear it or not, but
- 16:08Speaker 2: that he hasn't gotten a hit in his last ten
- 16:10Speaker 2: at bats or eight at bats at softball?
- 16:11Speaker 1: Is it a drought? Is he?
- 16:14Speaker 2: I'm certain you haven't gotten a hit yet, if you
- 16:15Speaker 2: even showed up anymore games.
- 16:17Speaker 1: But Taylor, what is happening there? What's going on with you?
- 16:19Speaker 4: A little droughty, little drowdy. You need to take a
- 16:21Speaker 4: shower in full uniform, like cal Rawley.
- 16:24Speaker 5: So cal Rawly is a good comparison, except I never
- 16:28Speaker 5: had an MVP like season when playing softball. At the plate,
- 16:31Speaker 5: I'm just not a good hitter in softball, but for
- 16:35Speaker 5: some reason, normally I'm at least good enough to just
- 16:38Speaker 5: put it on the ground and I'm gonna beat out
- 16:40Speaker 5: a lot of ground balls. I'm gonna find holes in
- 16:43Speaker 5: the infield. I'm gonna find a little bloop single here,
- 16:45Speaker 5: a little bloop single there. Something in my game right now,
- 16:50Speaker 5: I am going through one of the worst slumps anybody's
- 16:52Speaker 5: ever seen. There's a group text of this softball team,
- 16:56Speaker 5: and everybody's saying, like, oh, good game, guys, like we
- 16:59Speaker 5: really played hard. Are defense has completely turned a corner.
- 17:02Speaker 5: Roommate Ian is one of our best defenders now after
- 17:04Speaker 5: that first game, and the only thing I texted back
- 17:07Speaker 5: in that group was, Hey, guys, hand up. You gotta
- 17:11Speaker 5: move me down in the lineup.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Wow. Wow, some accountability shocking, well, Taylor.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Maybe your National Death History Month, Taylor, And you can
- 17:20Speaker 5: only hit when it's April because you can't hit in May.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Apparently, is there a Greek History Month? GHM tv O.
- 17:33Speaker 5: It is brutal right now at the play I'm trying
- 17:37Speaker 5: to go up there and just be like, hey, just
- 17:39Speaker 5: just simplify the game. Just hit put the ball on yes,
- 17:43Speaker 5: and then it's just a little pop up to the
- 17:44Speaker 5: shortstop every time.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Wow.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I don't think it would surprise you at all. I
- 17:49Speaker 3: did not make this game on Monday. It was my
- 17:52Speaker 3: youngest sister's birthday, and I was like, those guys got.
- 17:55Speaker 4: It under control over there.
- 17:57Speaker 3: But I do find it curious, or I don't know
- 17:59Speaker 3: what whatever you want to call it, that the two
- 18:02Speaker 3: games that I was there for the entirety of the game,
- 18:05Speaker 3: we won. And it kind of makes you wonder what
- 18:08Speaker 3: the you know, the missing ingredient was this last week?
- 18:11Speaker 1: Probably you not being there.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Somebody did in Soka Walk.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think that makes you happy those results.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Right, You're not needed, you don't need, You don't feel
- 18:18Speaker 2: any sort of need to show up. Although the next
- 18:20Speaker 2: time you show up, he'd be great if the manager
- 18:22Speaker 2: pull tailor and had you pinch it for them.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Well I did.
- 18:25Speaker 3: I did tell the group. I was like, you know what,
- 18:27Speaker 3: you can move me up the lineup. I don't have
- 18:29Speaker 3: to be dead last every single time. There's a couple
- 18:31Speaker 3: of guys on here that deserve a chance to hit
- 18:33Speaker 3: dead last sounds like Taylor.
- 18:36Speaker 5: No, not Taylor, Mikey right now, me batting last and
- 18:40Speaker 5: being the guy that kind of flipped the lineup over
- 18:42Speaker 5: with his speed back to the top of the order.
- 18:44Speaker 5: It's not the worst idea in the world. I've I've considered.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It is someone keeping stats, like individual stats of this team.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Someone has to be There's always a guy in the
- 18:51Speaker 1: team who does that, right.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Everybody out their stats in their own head.
- 18:54Speaker 1: But Taylor has his own stats.
- 18:56Speaker 5: Yeah, I have my own stats on batting about one
- 18:58Speaker 5: fifty two.
- 18:59Speaker 4: Right now, start slapping the ball, Taylor, slap it down.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Yep, just put it in play, Taylor, I mean ground balls,
- 19:05Speaker 1: you know.
- 19:06Speaker 4: You know what, just make Just wait for a good one.
- 19:09Speaker 4: Wait for the right one, says.
- 19:11Speaker 2: The man who has never recorded it hit in the
- 19:14Speaker 2: history with super.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Seen a good one, who invented softball.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Let's get him out of his grave and get him
- 19:19Speaker 3: up here and just have him watched me play and
- 19:21Speaker 3: see what he says.
- 19:22Speaker 1: You were here palled by the way.
- 19:26Speaker 4: We have a buy next week.
- 19:28Speaker 1: I'm kidding.
- 19:29Speaker 3: We play next week. I play on Monday, but the
- 19:33Speaker 3: playoffs are right after that. And I think there's a
- 19:36Speaker 3: couple of weeks built in for rain like rain makeups.
- 19:39Speaker 3: So we're probably gonna have about three more games before
- 19:41Speaker 3: these playoffs come.
- 19:42Speaker 1: But I'll try to show up, don't You're with it.
- 19:44Speaker 1: They're winning without you.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Don't show up the winning.
- 19:49Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I misheard. I'm sorry about it, Jesus, I'm sorry.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Everyone is. He is the blue guy. He
- 19:56Speaker 1: is the team that makes He's the engine that makes
- 19:58Speaker 1: that team go.
- 19:59Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Tailor, way too good on defense together that
- 20:04Speaker 2: we need him out there, all right? Cut et, are
- 20:08Speaker 2: you such a slump that even Ian is laughing at you?
- 20:12Speaker 5: So me and Ian are in the same boat where
- 20:14Speaker 5: we're both better fielders than we are hitters, Like we
- 20:17Speaker 5: both know that about each other. Ian has found more
- 20:21Speaker 5: success at the plate, but we're both doing well in
- 20:24Speaker 5: the field. And if I was going up there and saying, like,
- 20:27Speaker 5: hey guys, I'm Barry Bonds. I'm gonna hit three home
- 20:29Speaker 5: runs this game, I'm going up there saying I'm not
- 20:32Speaker 5: that good at hitting. I'm just trying to put the
- 20:34Speaker 5: ball in play and then cause a little havoc on
- 20:36Speaker 5: the bass pats, you know, like if this was Major League,
- 20:40Speaker 5: I'm William May's Hayes.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Okay, Well, maybe the pitcher in that first game who
- 20:45Speaker 2: told his outfield to move in when you came up
- 20:47Speaker 2: to the plate, perhaps he was right.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I mean, he was definitely he was definitely right. He
- 20:53Speaker 1: was just an asshole about it.
