- 0:00Speaker 1: I think the best thing to do would be get
- 0:01Speaker 1: another panda. It's one more thing.
- 0:09Speaker 2: But before we get to that, it's time to finally
- 0:14Speaker 2: answer the question that's been on so many minds. How
- 0:18Speaker 2: has Rosie O'Donnell reacted to Mika and Joe visiting Trump?
- 0:24Speaker 1: Wow, stretch? Can you imagine giving a shit? Half a shit?
- 0:36Speaker 2: Can you imagine being so I don't know, dope, be
- 0:41Speaker 2: an odd that you'd be like, oh my god, Rosie's
- 0:46Speaker 2: talking about Joe and Beeker going down to mar A Lago. Anyway,
- 0:49Speaker 2: this is what she said, So.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Mika and Joe went down to mar Largo to kiss
- 0:54Speaker 3: the ring. So last time I ever watched Morning Joe,
- 0:58Speaker 3: period and statement, unreal, unreal. For months, you were telling
- 1:07Speaker 3: us he's the worst thing that could happen to this
- 1:08Speaker 3: country and democracy, and then you.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Go kiss his ring. Despicable, despicable You.
- 1:19Speaker 2: First of all, you can't say end of statement, then
- 1:21Speaker 2: keep talking. It's just a yeah, right, I just right
- 1:27Speaker 2: about that one part. But I don't blame the viewers
- 1:30Speaker 2: who have reacted that way. Wait a second, you can't
- 1:33Speaker 2: spend four entire hours every day one talking about this
- 1:38Speaker 2: guy's hitler and the end of it. It's the end
- 1:39Speaker 2: of civilization.
- 1:41Speaker 1: And two, how there's no possible way he can win,
- 1:43Speaker 1: And then you lay out your argument, why, here's the
- 1:46Speaker 1: data that shows he can't win, and then turns out
- 1:49Speaker 1: you were wrong. He could win easily. And two then
- 1:52Speaker 1: you're like, what are you gonna do? Let's go have
- 1:54Speaker 1: lunch with him. What right? So there's actually data. On
- 1:59Speaker 1: this Monday, a six am hour of Morning Joe had
- 2:02Speaker 1: one hundred and thirteen thousand viewers in demo. By the way,
- 2:06Speaker 1: that ain't enough people to have all of those salaries
- 2:10Speaker 1: and all of those people and all those cameras and
- 2:12Speaker 1: everything like that. I don't know how long that can last.
- 2:15Speaker 1: But Monday it was one hundred and thirteen thousand people
- 2:17Speaker 1: in demo, and then the next day after their big announcement,
- 2:20Speaker 1: eighty one thousand. That's a pretty big drop off in
- 2:23Speaker 1: one day.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Holy cow. That reminds me of the Washington Post losing
- 2:27Speaker 2: a quarter of a million subscribers when they did the right.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Thing and coincidentally or not.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Not endorsing the moron.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Komla coincidentally are not the big parent company that owns
- 2:38Speaker 1: all the so many of those cable news channels announced
- 2:40Speaker 1: that they're going to spin off some of them and
- 2:44Speaker 1: made noises that MSNBC is probably not going to be
- 2:47Speaker 1: packaged with NBC anymore. So I don't know. I don't know.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Nobody knows what's going on there. And I guess Scarborough
- 2:52Speaker 1: and Miko talked yesterday about we might be done in
- 2:54Speaker 1: a year, and Mika said we might be done tomorrow.
- 2:57Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 2:59Speaker 2: And they were beating CNN in a lot of day
- 3:02Speaker 2: parts and a lot of demos, So could this be?
- 3:06Speaker 2: I mean, and the trend line is unmistakable if you're
- 3:08Speaker 2: running a cable news network.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Well, one thing that happened this presidential election, and Trump
- 3:13Speaker 1: made it more clear than anyone, is the change in
- 3:17Speaker 1: the media landscape. You can go on Joe Rogan and
- 3:20Speaker 1: on election Day it was like seventy five million views.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I don't know what it's up to now, seventy five
- 3:25Speaker 1: million by going on Joe Rogan versus you could have
- 3:27Speaker 1: gone on Joe and Mika and had eighty thousand people
- 3:30Speaker 1: see you.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Right, yeah, yeah, Well, change change, it's inevitable.
- 3:39Speaker 1: So here's my thing on maybe we ought to get
- 3:40Speaker 1: another pandem my I don't know where I am on
- 3:43Speaker 1: video games with my kids. I really don't. I know,
- 3:47Speaker 1: I've read a lot of the studies and all that
- 3:49Speaker 1: sort of stuff. But see, when I was young, they
- 3:52Speaker 1: talked about how awful television was for you, and I
- 3:54Speaker 1: don't feel like other than opportunity cost, which is not
- 3:57Speaker 1: a minor thing, but other than opportunity costs, I don't
- 3:59Speaker 1: feel like television did any damage to me. But again,
- 4:03Speaker 1: not that opportunity cost is not a big deal because
- 4:05Speaker 1: you are doing the control group of what of you?
- 4:12Speaker 2: You're the experiment group?
- 4:13Speaker 1: You watch TV? How the control group? Well, I don't
- 4:15Speaker 1: have any idea, but I just I certainly don't.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Have that truth bomb right there. You shouldn't think it is.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I doved for cover, I've got I got divine.
- 4:24Speaker 1: There are plenty of things in my life I was
- 4:26Speaker 1: warned against that I can tell you right now. Yes,
- 4:28Speaker 1: they were bad for me, and that was a bad idea.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I don't feel that way about television. But so I
- 4:33Speaker 1: don't know where I am on video games and video games.
- 4:36Speaker 1: There's different lots of different kinds of video games, but
- 4:38Speaker 1: this particular one that my son is into now. He
- 4:42Speaker 1: also has a lot of other issues and to a
- 4:44Speaker 1: certain extent, him playing this video game is better than
- 4:47Speaker 1: a lot of other things he could be doing or
- 4:49Speaker 1: thinking about. But there's this video game that he got into,
- 4:52Speaker 1: and I don't know how he came to discover. It's
- 4:54Speaker 1: called Planet Zoo and it's you running a zoo.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I've heard of that, yeah, oh yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And the version that you pay for, because there's a
- 5:03Speaker 1: free version that's kind of a smaller version then the
- 5:06Speaker 1: version you pay for, which we bought the other day.
- 5:08Speaker 1: It's running a business. They made it a zoo to
- 5:10Speaker 1: make it more interesting for kids, but I mean it
- 5:12Speaker 1: is so exhaustive in its different ways that it's like
- 5:17Speaker 1: running a business, Like keeping track of how many people
- 5:20Speaker 1: are visiting and which exhibits they're visiting, and what that
- 5:24Speaker 1: exhibit costs, and whether or not it's a good idea
- 5:27Speaker 1: to keep that exhibit if only this many, and just
- 5:29Speaker 1: hiring people you're having trouble hiring people, and then what
- 5:32Speaker 1: you got to pay them more to keep them around,
- 5:33Speaker 1: and just all these different things. It's just fascinating, and
- 5:37Speaker 1: I'm fascinated that my son's so into it.
- 5:39Speaker 2: So I'm jealous that I didn't have that as a kid.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Kittie I grew up on.
- 5:44Speaker 5: They were obviously not of the graphs that we see now,
- 5:47Speaker 5: but there were Zoo Tycoon. There's also a new one
- 5:49Speaker 5: that I will admit I play at times that you
- 5:54Speaker 5: build and run a theme park and you can build
- 5:57Speaker 5: the roller coasters, and then you decide where the food
- 5:59Speaker 5: goes and how to generate traffic going in certain directs.
- 6:02Speaker 1: It's really cool. That is interesting. Like he had a
- 6:05Speaker 1: panda display and it was getting some traffic, but not
- 6:08Speaker 1: that much, so he just added a whole bunch to
- 6:10Speaker 1: his panda display to try to make it more appealing
- 6:12Speaker 1: to people who visit the zoo. He had to spend
- 6:14Speaker 1: a whole bunch of the money that he had saved
- 6:16Speaker 1: up from the zoo on it, so it better work out.
- 6:18Speaker 1: But it's just really that's fantastic.
- 6:22Speaker 2: If he ever consider a pandas.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Wow, I'll just said that to him. This is what
- 6:27Speaker 1: you do after the zoo closes and you're gonna have
- 6:29Speaker 1: to get this out through the dark web or something
- 6:31Speaker 1: like that. You stage panda fights, barbars, you charge people.
- 6:35Speaker 1: You know they're gonna have to pay you cash because
- 6:36Speaker 1: he can't have this on the books.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Like fifty thousand get to walk in the door.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Then the wagering, you get the vig right.
- 6:43Speaker 1: You might need a vet who's on the payroll also
- 6:47Speaker 1: on the sly.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Wow, I regret my own.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Joke this turn.
- 6:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I was gonna say, if he ever gets tired
- 6:57Speaker 5: of the zoo, there are theme parks there, arcade centers,
- 7:01Speaker 5: and then I believe there's another one where it's you
- 7:03Speaker 5: can build a stadium and decide where you put the
- 7:06Speaker 5: all the stuff for people to explore.
- 7:09Speaker 1: It's pretty cool. Yeah, if nothing else, just the number
- 7:12Speaker 1: of different things that made him think about that you
- 7:15Speaker 1: wouldn't normally think about. Like he was open till he
- 7:17Speaker 1: thought it'd be a good idea to be open till
- 7:19Speaker 1: nine o'clock at night or something of the zoo, but
- 7:20Speaker 1: nobody was coming in that late, and it was costing
- 7:22Speaker 1: a lot of money to have employees around, so he
- 7:24Speaker 1: cut back the hours. Oh this is fantastic. I couldn't
- 7:27Speaker 1: love this more. What an interesting idea for a game.
- 7:30Speaker 1: And I'm surprised it's so popular. It's really popular.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm encouraged that it's popular like that, And again
- 7:37Speaker 2: I'm jealous. I wish i'd had that as a kid.
- 7:40Speaker 2: I mean, it gets your your brain going in so
- 7:42Speaker 2: many different directions that are necessary to understand the world
- 7:45Speaker 2: and business.
- 7:46Speaker 1: And if video games could go that direction or have
- 7:49Speaker 1: gone that direction, and then you add I and add
- 7:51Speaker 1: in an AI element that might be able to make
- 7:54Speaker 1: it even more amazing. Those could be some tremendous learning tools.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Then you graduate to Hoe Palace where you're running a
- 8:02Speaker 2: brothel when.
- 8:03Speaker 1: You're about fifteen. You want to run Hoe Palace.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Right, you gotta you gotta pay the girls and or guys.
- 8:10Speaker 2: You gotta pay off the cops the strip club.
- 8:13Speaker 1: And like your son will say, yeah, Candy hurt her
- 8:17Speaker 1: ankle so she can't hang upside down from the pole anymore.
- 8:19Speaker 1: So I had to lay her off.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Right. Oh my god, Candy is a real you know,
- 8:29Speaker 2: a real producer. Maybe you have her ten bar for
- 8:33Speaker 2: a little bit, you know, keep her on the payroll
- 8:36Speaker 2: till our ankle is healed. See, you gotta be creative.
- 8:38Speaker 2: You gotta think you know the cost benefits.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I hired a new DJ. I thought I would bring
- 8:43Speaker 1: in more money, but it didn't make any difference whatsoever.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Complete waste guys. Put your hands together for Candy.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Oh now, I feel slimy.
- 8:55Speaker 4: You should, you know, as Like when I was a kid,
- 8:58Speaker 4: my parents got me this game put up by the
- 9:00Speaker 4: DMV called Smog Control. You got to stand in line
- 9:03Speaker 4: in real time for like two hours and then finally
- 9:07Speaker 4: you earn some money and then you get the car smogged. Yeah.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I like the idea of a DMV simulator.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Oh what do you hate your kid?
- 9:18Speaker 4: Well, I guess that's it.
