- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, y'all, welcome to it one. Can I say podcast?
- 0:03Speaker 2: This is episode what Riding three seventy eight Man, what's
- 0:08Speaker 2: happening it?
- 0:09Speaker 1: This will be a quick one.
- 0:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna give you a heads up because we have
- 0:12Speaker 2: a little schedule and going on. But we always want
- 0:14Speaker 2: to get you with a pot We got you, We
- 0:16Speaker 2: got you, We got you.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I won the host talk of poem with Woo Woo
- 0:20Speaker 1: Woo at Fluffy five lady over there that.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Is Kiki Woo and funny man of the Potter zagbu
- 0:26Speaker 2: hood Woo. Now let's go ahead and get right to
- 0:30Speaker 2: a potfam Stephen A. Smith response to the National Association
- 0:34Speaker 2: of Black Journalists after they gave him a thumbs down
- 0:37Speaker 2: the War Ethic of Ittion in Atlanta. They basically were
- 0:40Speaker 2: talking about his takes since he started the Straight Shooter
- 0:45Speaker 2: for anything outside of.
- 0:48Speaker 1: First take, the takes have been a little off early.
- 0:51Speaker 2: They've gotten better, and I guess people are still upset
- 0:55Speaker 2: about what he was saying about females and he they
- 1:00Speaker 2: gave him thumbs down award. We gotta say about this,
- 1:03Speaker 2: Kiki well deserve Yeah.
- 1:07Speaker 3: I mean I just feel like I just couldn't imagine
- 1:10Speaker 3: what I would feel if I got a thumbs down
- 1:12Speaker 3: from that room. You're talking about all of the respected
- 1:16Speaker 3: you know exactly journalists around the world, and for him
- 1:20Speaker 3: to be on such a big platform to get a
- 1:23Speaker 3: thumbs down, it's like, oh, so, I know I would
- 1:27Speaker 3: love to hear him like address this because how did
- 1:30Speaker 3: you like that?
- 1:31Speaker 1: Would?
- 1:31Speaker 4: I know? How that would make me feel?
- 1:33Speaker 1: Right? Right, Zach? What you think? I don't I get?
- 1:38Speaker 5: First of all, when you're a polarizing figure like Steven A,
- 1:41Speaker 5: you're gonna have people who like you and and and
- 1:45Speaker 5: don't like you. And I think that's what makes him
- 1:47Speaker 5: really good is the fact that he can evoke so
- 1:49Speaker 5: much emotion from people with his takes. All right, But
- 1:54Speaker 5: if you just think about it, he's had some terrible
- 1:57Speaker 5: takes lately, and he's too big to have these terrible tis.
- 2:00Speaker 5: He's had terrible takes about Trump, He's had terrible takes
- 2:03Speaker 5: about Jasmin Crockett, He's had terrible takes on even from
- 2:08Speaker 5: an entertainment standpoint, He's had terrible takes, you know what
- 2:11Speaker 5: I'm saying. Remember he was putting Rihanna and Beyonce against
- 2:14Speaker 5: each other. It's like when he stepped outside of sports.
- 2:16Speaker 5: He started having bad, bad takes, and I think the
- 2:19Speaker 5: one that got him over the top was the Crockett take.
- 2:23Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying that he even had to
- 2:24Speaker 5: come on our show on the Shade Room to try
- 2:26Speaker 5: to clear up because he knew he was like I
- 2:28Speaker 5: stepped in it with this one.
- 2:30Speaker 1: It wasn't it wasn't the best the best takes.
- 2:32Speaker 5: So yeah, I mean, I don't think it takes anything
- 2:35Speaker 5: away from who steven A is, you know what I'm saying.
- 2:37Speaker 5: I don't think that we're looking at him like he's
- 2:39Speaker 5: a bad journalist. I don't look at steven A like that.
- 2:41Speaker 5: But I do think he's had a rough take stepping
- 2:44Speaker 5: outside of what he does. He's had a rough time
- 2:48Speaker 5: stepping outside. And I feel like politically he was trying
- 2:51Speaker 5: to appease certain parties and people that sent him in
- 2:55Speaker 5: the wrong direction. In my opinion, he got on the
- 2:57Speaker 5: wrong side of history and the NABJ, and for.
- 3:05Speaker 2: The nab JA to do it as a as a
- 3:09Speaker 2: group at the convention feels weird.
- 3:12Speaker 1: It feels weird.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I get it if any of the journalists in there
- 3:15Speaker 2: had issues with it, and they had things that they
- 3:18Speaker 2: were doing on their own platforms, but such a respected then.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I just like, why we gotta.
- 3:24Speaker 2: So why do we got to come at each other
- 3:25Speaker 2: at the top of the craft?
- 3:27Speaker 1: Right?
- 3:27Speaker 2: And for me, stephen A is one of the top
- 3:30Speaker 2: of the craft. He's made mistakes and everybody in that
- 3:32Speaker 2: room is not mistake free on their takes. Anybody that
- 3:36Speaker 2: talks for a living that much, we gonna make a
- 3:38Speaker 2: mistake or two and we're gonna step in it. And
- 3:40Speaker 2: I felt like, I felt like, it's like, if you
- 3:44Speaker 2: live in a glasshouse, don't throw stones. I felt like
- 3:46Speaker 2: that was crazy. And I feel like, and I'm gonna
- 3:48Speaker 2: go to the black part of it. Why are we
- 3:50Speaker 2: trying to take down the top people.
- 3:53Speaker 1: In our craft?
- 3:54Speaker 2: You hear people try and say stuff about Charlotte Magne
- 3:56Speaker 2: and stephen A Smith constantly, and it don't make sense.
- 4:00Speaker 1: It doesn't make sense.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you can have your feelings, let them make a mistake,
- 4:04Speaker 2: but why are we trying to take down the people
- 4:06Speaker 2: that are at the top the crab. It's almost it
- 4:09Speaker 2: gives me a sense of I feel like I could
- 4:12Speaker 2: be there too, so let me pull them down.
- 4:14Speaker 1: What happens when steven Ah Smith goes away? What happens.
- 4:16Speaker 2: If Charlotte Mane goes away, Ain't none of you nut
- 4:19Speaker 2: jobs gonna be able to take the space. Let them,
- 4:22Speaker 2: Let them rock. They are making space for what they're
- 4:24Speaker 2: doing to me. They're making space for all of us.
- 4:28Speaker 2: And I think to criticize them in this way, in
- 4:31Speaker 2: this way from this organization it outside looking in, it
- 4:36Speaker 2: looks crazy.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I say, keep our stuff in house. I get it.
- 4:40Speaker 5: But the only thing is I thought about that, and
- 4:41Speaker 5: I say, did they create this for him? This is
- 4:43Speaker 5: an award they do every year. I think Steven A
- 4:46Speaker 5: is so big that it got attention. Brendan Carr got
- 4:50Speaker 5: it before the John McCoy.
- 4:51Speaker 1: We just don't know.
- 4:52Speaker 5: These people got it before CBS News, the Washington Post.
- 4:56Speaker 5: So this is something that they do. The award may
- 4:59Speaker 5: be a bit tacky. I can see your point on that,
- 5:02Speaker 5: but this wasn't just in ABJ. We're gonna attack Stephen
- 5:05Speaker 5: A today. I think it's an award and I think
- 5:08Speaker 5: he earned.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It this year. If they do away with.
- 5:11Speaker 5: If you're gonna do and I'm okay with that, we're
- 5:14Speaker 5: doing away with it because it is a bit tacky
- 5:16Speaker 5: to have an award where you say the worst of
- 5:19Speaker 5: the Nobody else does.
- 5:20Speaker 1: That, Like worst Song of the I don't think that.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Why are we trying to put each other down?
- 5:25Speaker 2: Like the NABJ is for people, in my opinion, to
- 5:28Speaker 2: come together and celebrate and celebrate what we have accomplished
- 5:32Speaker 2: as journalists and.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Commitsion you know what I mean, just a network and
- 5:36Speaker 1: have all type.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Of good feelings about about being a part of this.
- 5:41Speaker 2: And then any of those people that got the thumbs
- 5:44Speaker 2: Down award, do you really want to now you're not
- 5:46Speaker 2: messing with them no more?
- 5:47Speaker 1: And you think if you got that award, you ever
- 5:49Speaker 1: going back? Right right? I get that.
- 5:51Speaker 3: My thing would be though, I would hope the award
- 5:53Speaker 3: would inspire Steven A. Smith or whoever is the recipient
- 5:57Speaker 3: to ask the question what could I do better? You
- 6:00Speaker 3: know what I'm saying, And then like if I was
- 6:01Speaker 3: Stephen A, if I was on his team, I would say,
- 6:04Speaker 3: next year you'll be speaking at their conference. Let's figure
- 6:07Speaker 3: out what you can do better, how we can turn
- 6:09Speaker 3: this thing around. Because I don't think just because somebody
- 6:12Speaker 3: has made it to a high position that they they're
- 6:15Speaker 3: beyond criticism or you know, being critiqued. I don't believe
- 6:18Speaker 3: that I think that we do have to hold each
- 6:20Speaker 3: other accountable. And when you are on a huge platform,
- 6:23Speaker 3: unfortunately heavy as a head that wears the crown, it's
- 6:25Speaker 3: a lot that comes with that. And if you've been
- 6:27Speaker 3: irresponsible with your seat, you should be called out for it.
- 6:31Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. And it's like you're not
- 6:33Speaker 3: above approach because you just who you are. Know So
- 6:36Speaker 3: I think it's okay to hold each other accountable. I
- 6:39Speaker 3: just hope that his take in response to that is
- 6:41Speaker 3: to figure out how he can be better in the
- 6:44Speaker 3: space and what he can do to be better. Now, Zach,
- 6:45Speaker 3: your face found up. But when he was on the
- 6:47Speaker 3: shave room after making those comments about Jasmine Crockett, his
- 6:50Speaker 3: tone was I want to sit down and talk to her.
- 6:53Speaker 3: I would like to better understand. That's how he came across.
- 6:56Speaker 1: So okay, I got a response for you from him.
- 6:58Speaker 5: For the m ABJ, this is the epitome of Christmas
- 7:03Speaker 5: arriving early.
- 7:04Speaker 1: NABJ wants to call folks out.
- 7:07Speaker 5: Fine, you had your turn, mindus coming and make no mistake,
- 7:12Speaker 5: I'm coming. Let's see who really deserves a thumb down
- 7:16Speaker 5: the war when it comes to the black community. After
- 7:19Speaker 5: I say my piece. Remember in a BJ you asked
- 7:24Speaker 5: for it. I shut my mouth for years. Now y'all
- 7:27Speaker 5: started something that sounds like.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Somebody that's not the right taxt You do you think.
- 7:32Speaker 1: That sounds like somebody who's getting ready to be like.
- 7:34Speaker 5: Oh you know what, let me do some self reflection.
- 7:36Speaker 5: He's getting ready to shoot back.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I don't think it's self reflection. I think the same.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Think about this.
- 7:43Speaker 4: It's not gonna work out.
- 7:44Speaker 2: But think about this, when when somebody was questioning open
- 7:47Speaker 2: when she said some questionable stuff.
- 7:49Speaker 1: If somebody questions she's not she's not above approach.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not saying she is, but I'm saying we
- 7:54Speaker 2: we questioned it.
- 7:55Speaker 1: But as a as individuals, you.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Know what I'm saying, Like you can as on your show,
- 8:01Speaker 2: like Man Oprah or Windy Man said something, it was off,
- 8:06Speaker 2: it's off. As an organization, that's where it gets weird
- 8:10Speaker 2: because we're all allowed for our opinions, because we all
- 8:13Speaker 2: got platforms. I think when a National Association of Black
- 8:16Speaker 2: Journalist puts somebody that we at the top of the class,
- 8:21Speaker 2: whether it be whomever it is, and we we do
- 8:24Speaker 2: that as a group, it looks crazy to me.
- 8:29Speaker 1: That's all. That's all I'm saying.
- 8:32Speaker 2: If any member of that goes on their platform and
- 8:34Speaker 2: be like, man, you know who got the award, blah
- 8:37Speaker 2: blah blah. But I feel like this stephen A and
- 8:40Speaker 2: that's a different type. But as an organization, it feels weird.
- 8:43Speaker 1: And again, the.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Award is weird period because I just don't think we're
- 8:51Speaker 2: in the National Association of Black Journalists. I don't think
- 8:54Speaker 2: that type of award should even be involved. I think
- 8:57Speaker 2: we should be celebrating it and talking about the excellent, excellent,
- 9:01Speaker 2: this is the this is These are the top. I've
- 9:02Speaker 2: been to it a couple of times. These are the
- 9:05Speaker 2: top people in the craft everybody. And to to bring
- 9:09Speaker 2: that in just it doesn't seen what you're saying that
- 9:13Speaker 2: all right, pot Pools did something?
- 9:15Speaker 1: Did I think that is?
- 9:17Speaker 2: Uh, he might have ended the relationship he don't know
- 9:20Speaker 2: Pat Poofs.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and his relationship with Clarissa basically.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Yeah, basically listen, they tell you he got a tattoo
- 9:29Speaker 2: of Christian Shield's name on.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Him, as he should go ahead, Pat Poofs.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Did she got it on him?
- 9:35Speaker 4: Probably got one?
- 9:36Speaker 1: Probably I think she had one before.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Actually she did.
- 9:39Speaker 3: She got one first, she actually showed us at the
- 9:42Speaker 3: Beads of War. She wore like a like a purposely
- 9:46Speaker 3: cut outfit to show it off.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, yeah they ended it. What did he call it?
- 9:52Speaker 1: Yellow buss? What do you call it? What kind of
- 9:54Speaker 1: love is it?
- 9:55Speaker 4: I don't remember love love boots.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Of love, log boots love it is it still loves boots,
- 10:04Speaker 3: But I love to I like it now, it's nice.
- 10:08Speaker 4: That is somebody for everybody?
- 10:11Speaker 1: Do you have? Are you gonna get your husband's na
- 10:13Speaker 1: We've been down this road. No, is he getting it
- 10:15Speaker 1: on you? On him?
- 10:16Speaker 4: I would like him too.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Now why would you want him to do it? And
- 10:19Speaker 1: you don't want to do it.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Because he doesn't have any tattoos already half messed up tattoos.
- 10:23Speaker 3: It wouldn't matter to add one moment. You wouldn't even
- 10:26Speaker 3: see it in a couple of years, gonna fade. But
- 10:28Speaker 3: he don't have.
- 10:30Speaker 1: What where you want them to get it?
- 10:32Speaker 4: Anywhere?
- 10:32Speaker 1: On his chest?
- 10:33Speaker 4: Chest?
- 10:34Speaker 1: Back? Nick, you got to.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Chill my name so I know it's real. Husband.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Please don't do it, tim, y'all living happy broll mess
- 10:51Speaker 1: it up?
- 10:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that is a ain't going nowhere. Okay until she does.
- 10:57Speaker 1: She ain't.
- 10:58Speaker 4: She loves Hoo's that pap upstairs. She ain't leaving Patpoos.
- 11:02Speaker 2: She loves Papoos not leaving her. We already know Pat.
- 11:05Speaker 2: You lock in, he lock in.
- 11:06Speaker 1: They both like to lock in that.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Okay, I'm not going what look now, I'm not gonna
- 11:16Speaker 2: Carissa being a woman does she does? She falls into
- 11:18Speaker 2: the same category as every athlete.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I'm not saying not lescious. We come on on, Carissa. Yes,
- 11:26Speaker 1: I'm not going.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I'm not going on a professional athlete. I'm not going.
- 11:32Speaker 2: The data says it. Patpoos, we know Papoos ain't going nowhere.
- 11:37Speaker 1: M hm.
- 11:39Speaker 2: She loves and they say she didn't. She also is
- 11:43Speaker 2: a professional athlete. She also has. She got millions of
- 11:47Speaker 2: dudes looking at her like, man, you ain't gonna say nothing.
- 11:53Speaker 5: She ain't going nowhere, okay, especially after they had that
- 11:56Speaker 5: little thing where you remember it was going viral who
- 11:58Speaker 5: somebody posted something about her talking.
- 12:01Speaker 1: He was in the house on Christmas. She was in it.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I know it wouldn't do a dude that wasn't me
- 12:08Speaker 2: in my girl house while she dancing in pajamas on Christmas.
- 12:11Speaker 1: On Christmas.
- 12:12Speaker 3: The only well that Clarissa would leave. Pappa is a
- 12:16Speaker 3: more famous guy, and where what famous guy coming looking
- 12:22Speaker 3: for Clarissa?
- 12:26Speaker 4: Give me a rundown?
- 12:27Speaker 3: I know something, because that's what makes their relationships. We
- 12:32Speaker 3: did not know Clarissa till she got with Patpoos.
- 12:35Speaker 2: So you're saying that, Okay, I'm not going to I'm not.
- 12:39Speaker 2: At some point I can't do it.
- 12:40Speaker 4: I can't do what.
- 12:42Speaker 2: You se because I don't want to do that. I
- 12:45Speaker 2: don't want to do it because I rock with Patpoos
- 12:47Speaker 2: and I don't want to. I'm just saying, is that
- 12:51Speaker 2: she an athlete. She's an athlete that does what she does.
- 12:56Speaker 1: In keep saying, nobody want me.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Get your first popular dude, and he showed you off?
- 13:05Speaker 3: Y'all on rip, she never had this before.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Exactly what happened?
- 13:08Speaker 2: What happens when for your first propulary dude shows you off?
- 13:11Speaker 2: What happens?
- 13:13Speaker 1: What happened to you?
- 13:14Speaker 4: Yes, I just want to know who? What guy? Do
- 13:16Speaker 4: you see her with?
- 13:17Speaker 1: What happens to you? You level? Loving?
- 13:19Speaker 2: Every everybody started, everybody start looking at you a little different.
- 13:23Speaker 4: No disrespect to the quote. I just don't think she's.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Going to.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Look I don't think she's going anywhere. We would hope not.
- 13:31Speaker 2: We want to see them together. But I guarantee you
- 13:34Speaker 2: Christian d MS is wild.
- 13:37Speaker 4: They are wild with you and zactlyom nobody.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I don't want no woman that hit that hard. I
- 13:46Speaker 1: don't take a woman that can whoop me like that. No, exactly,
- 13:52Speaker 1: my whole ass. How you hit that girl? I said,
- 13:55Speaker 1: that's where's the other guy?
- 13:57Speaker 3: What's all these men? These famous men? And that's coming
- 14:00Speaker 3: from you crazy?
- 14:05Speaker 5: She's saying, don't nobody want.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I'm just saying famous.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Lauren was there, she wouldn't be with path What would
- 14:17Speaker 4: keep you with all?
- 14:18Speaker 1: Oh? You wild?
- 14:20Speaker 2: And I'm not, Oh, all right, we're gonna move on.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Trying to bake me into beat up. I don't want
- 14:27Speaker 4: to fight.
- 14:27Speaker 5: I don't want none of us or I just think
- 14:31Speaker 5: they're a beautiful couple when they're gonna stay together for.
- 14:34Speaker 2: I think they theyself and I think that Pap you
- 14:37Speaker 2: better stay on your stay on your stuff, for sure,
- 14:40Speaker 2: stay on your stuff.
- 14:41Speaker 1: But I mean, she an athlete, and I don't care.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I just I'm gonna go with the athletes and entertainers
- 14:46Speaker 2: have a different type of access. I think at them,
- 14:49Speaker 2: they only got so many nose. I think they color
- 14:52Speaker 2: and sit Indian style before they go to bed.
- 14:55Speaker 1: So I'm done.
- 14:57Speaker 5: Like my picture alone, that's terrible. I'm sorry, take that out.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Take that out if I gotta get beat up, so
- 15:05Speaker 4: do you.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Netflix wants Tyra Banks definmition defamation lawsuit to be dropped
- 15:11Speaker 2: over America's Next Top Model docu series, said wants to
- 15:15Speaker 2: be dismissed because it steps from creation and editing of
- 15:19Speaker 2: the documentary. It didn't have nothing to do with Netflix.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Himself one more time for a week, So they.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Want to dismiss it because they're saying that, hey, we
- 15:30Speaker 2: didn't have nothing to do with that.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Netflix wants to dismiss the dismiss the lawsuit.
- 15:34Speaker 5: Yeah, they wanted to disciss, right, So basically Netflix is
- 15:37Speaker 5: also saying she's only mad from a from a No,
- 15:44Speaker 5: they she's saying it's defamation. Actually, I got the notes
- 15:47Speaker 5: right here.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Somebody say something.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Because I ain't seeing nothing, okay, So basically.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Yourself, the hell with y'all, y'all just they're saying on
- 15:55Speaker 2: Tiktop she's contesting routine editorial choices in the amount of
- 16:00Speaker 2: airtime that she received.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Oh so that's what they saying she met But then
- 16:03Speaker 5: Tyro's team is saying that they created a false villain
- 16:06Speaker 5: at it and made her a villain of this.
- 16:08Speaker 1: And that's why they call it defamation.
- 16:10Speaker 5: So I don't know the law of defamation, but I
- 16:12Speaker 5: thought defamation is like when people lie on you, Right,
- 16:16Speaker 5: if they're not telling lies, is it you might not
- 16:18Speaker 5: like the way you were perceived. But if they didn't lie, right,
- 16:22Speaker 5: is it defamation?
- 16:23Speaker 1: Right? I don't know. I don't know. I just think
- 16:27Speaker 1: they talk crazy about you and you don't like it.
- 16:31Speaker 5: Oh, I didn't like it, but I feel like Tyra's
- 16:32Speaker 5: should have had my back more.
- 16:35Speaker 1: It's that defamation.
- 16:36Speaker 5: You can't tell that person that they feel like that
- 16:38Speaker 5: was her friend and he was like, she I ain't
- 16:40Speaker 5: sent And if he ain't sent you, is that a lie?
- 16:43Speaker 1: Right? They played with they played.
- 16:44Speaker 3: With her, But I do I don't like how Tyra
- 16:47Speaker 3: Banks is now the villain, the face of this you know,
- 16:49Speaker 3: villain thing, when there were so many other people behind
- 16:53Speaker 3: the scenes of producers, directors, executives who pushed all of
- 16:58Speaker 3: those storylines or whatever onto that show, and she was
- 17:01Speaker 3: the host of the show. And you know what I'm saying,
- 17:04Speaker 3: Like I'm not saying she's completely no fault, but I
- 17:07Speaker 3: don't like how we made her just this vialing era
- 17:10Speaker 3: of all of it.
- 17:11Speaker 4: So I can understand why she's upset.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Likef you're gonna tell the story, tell a whole story,
- 17:14Speaker 3: you know, talk about.
- 17:15Speaker 4: How the executives.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Let's pull some emails on what they said I had
- 17:18Speaker 3: to say or what I had to do, you know,
- 17:20Speaker 3: because we all know when you the face of something,
- 17:22Speaker 3: there's a lot of people behind the scenes pulling strings.
- 17:24Speaker 4: That you gotta please.
- 17:26Speaker 3: So I don't think it's fair for her to only
- 17:28Speaker 3: be the one to take the blame. But again, you
- 17:30Speaker 3: cannot be mad at people's experience. If that's what they're
- 17:34Speaker 3: saying there was, that was their experience.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah, they got a chill, They got a chill, all right.
- 17:38Speaker 2: The super Bowl lands on Valentine's Day for the first
- 17:41Speaker 2: time ever this year.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Wow, that to them, that's beautiful.
- 17:47Speaker 5: And I'm going to tell you, I'm sorry, ladies, go
- 17:50Speaker 5: you going, you're watching the game with your man on
- 17:53Speaker 5: Valentine's Day.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I'm sorry the.
- 17:55Speaker 5: Real man, real men are not missing the super Bowl
- 18:02Speaker 5: for Valentine's Day, especially if their team is playing.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something you wouldn't miss it.
- 18:09Speaker 5: Oh no, if the Bears are in the super Bowl,
- 18:12Speaker 5: I don't give a damn about Valentine's Day, and I'm
- 18:16Speaker 5: gonna say that adamantly.
- 18:18Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 18:19Speaker 5: Hey baby, we want to go eat, you can go eat.
- 18:22Speaker 5: I am going to watch the game. We can make
- 18:24Speaker 5: heart shaped wings. It'd be saut, it'll be Valentine's It's go.
- 18:29Speaker 5: We're gonna have to put the theme around this football game.
- 18:32Speaker 5: If your team is in the super Bowl, you're not
- 18:36Speaker 5: missing that.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 18:40Speaker 5: I'm not miss matter of fact, I'm gonna be like, babe,
- 18:42Speaker 5: let's go to this. Let's I'm gonna take out a
- 18:44Speaker 5: loan to go to the super Bowl on Valentine's Day.
- 18:48Speaker 5: We can wear red together. I don't give a damn.
- 18:50Speaker 5: We can celebrate, but I'm gonna be there and I'm
- 18:52Speaker 5: not missing it. We're gonna have Bears love. We gonna
- 18:55Speaker 5: have two Chicago Bears kissing shirt on. I don't care,
- 18:58Speaker 5: but I will watch the game one hundred percent. You
- 19:01Speaker 5: tell what you're doing.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I'm definitely watching the game. Ya don't believe in Valentine's
- 19:06Speaker 2: Day anyway.
- 19:07Speaker 1: I forgot him. I don't believe in it. Ye, I
- 19:11Speaker 1: don't believe in love. You don't.
- 19:14Speaker 2: I should love to mine all the time. I don't
- 19:16Speaker 2: need one day, That's right. I don't need it. I
- 19:19Speaker 2: don't need it. I don't need that. I don't need it.
- 19:21Speaker 2: But I think for me, when I saw it, I'm like, damn.
- 19:24Speaker 2: The NFL is going right at the NBA, one hundred
- 19:28Speaker 2: percent attacking the NBA.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Wait, wait, why because.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Valentine's weekend, It's All Star weekend, has been forever.
- 19:37Speaker 4: Why did this happen?
- 19:38Speaker 1: They are attacking them?
- 19:39Speaker 5: They so Look, the NFL has really been a lately.
- 19:44Speaker 5: Really was it that they used to? It was Christmas
- 19:47Speaker 5: and that was the NBA's day. Everybody knows the NBA
- 19:50Speaker 5: played their high marquee lineup on the on that day.
- 19:54Speaker 5: NFL said we're gonna throw a game on Christmas And
- 19:57Speaker 5: they did it with Netflix, didn't they?
- 19:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yep. Then they coming for the NBA.
- 20:02Speaker 2: I don't know what the NFL and the NBA got
- 20:05Speaker 2: going on with each other. Who don't like each other?
- 20:07Speaker 2: Who's this is definitely saying direction. It's a direct attack.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Yes, it is direct.
- 20:13Speaker 3: It's the economy because people aren't spending money like they
- 20:16Speaker 3: usually do, so it's like, we gotta.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Fight for the No.
- 20:20Speaker 1: This is this is pettiness.
- 20:22Speaker 2: This is somebody saying, hey, if y'all, if y'all you
- 20:27Speaker 2: they somebody had a conversation to say.
- 20:29Speaker 1: The people that had those type of conversations.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Then got into it and they was like, oh, yeah, okay,
- 20:35Speaker 2: watch this.
- 20:36Speaker 5: They've been attacking the NBA on days that are traditionally
- 20:40Speaker 5: NBA days. They've been getting with new networks, I guess,
- 20:42Speaker 5: making more money, breaking deals and been putting games on
- 20:45Speaker 5: them days. And I hate to say it, the NBA
- 20:48Speaker 5: will always fall short to the NFL.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Always. It's just never gonna be the same one. It's bigger.
- 20:55Speaker 5: It's bigger in America. It's shorter games. Every game matters
- 20:58Speaker 5: in the NFL. Every game don't matter in the NBA.
- 21:01Speaker 5: It's just a different thing. And if you put it
- 21:03Speaker 5: All Star Weekend, super Bowl, it's not a question which
- 21:06Speaker 5: one is bigger.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Right, They got to even close. All Shote Weekend has
- 21:09Speaker 2: to be moved for the first time. And I know
- 21:11Speaker 2: I've been going to All Star Games, polly Man for
- 21:15Speaker 2: over ten years. I've been going to them, and that
- 21:17Speaker 2: was that was my way of escaping valances day. But man,
- 21:24Speaker 2: this is like, that's the first thing I saw. I said,
- 21:25Speaker 2: Oh damn, y'all really going after them. They took Christmas
- 21:28Speaker 2: as Christmas is one hundred percent an NBA day because
- 21:32Speaker 2: they are they they have Christmas uniforms, they have Christmas
- 21:36Speaker 2: shoes that come out, and the NFL said, nope, we're
- 21:39Speaker 2: getting it.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Let me ask you this, what's the name? Said? Gary
- 21:42Speaker 1: V asked the question he thought of this? He said,
- 21:44Speaker 1: what if the n NBA move their season back.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Let's say they moved it to start opening on Christmas
- 21:51Speaker 5: opposed to starting in October, and then they would have
- 21:54Speaker 5: the summer and the finals and all of that stuff
- 21:56Speaker 5: was in the summer when the NFL is over, how
- 21:58Speaker 5: they could just dominate The playoffs could be all in
- 22:01Speaker 5: the summertime and they could dominate that all by all
- 22:04Speaker 5: they have to do is just push it back a
- 22:06Speaker 5: few months because them going heads up, they're all they will.
- 22:11Speaker 2: They're gonna have to move it. They're gonna have to
- 22:13Speaker 2: move into the summer. They're gonna have to move where
- 22:15Speaker 2: it gets into the summer. Which is cool because they
- 22:17Speaker 2: can go up head up against baseball and baseball and
- 22:20Speaker 2: the NBA ROBA will win it. Uh, baseball is a
- 22:23Speaker 2: purest traditional sport. People watch it, love it. But I
- 22:26Speaker 2: don't think it takes away from people want to go
- 22:28Speaker 2: to baseball games because of what it is, the summertime,
- 22:31Speaker 2: people being outside. But that's all I saw on this.
- 22:35Speaker 2: I was like, this is a direct attack. So it's
- 22:36Speaker 2: gonna be interesting how this thing plays out. For sure,
- 22:39Speaker 2: for sure. All right, what's the classic album that will
- 22:42Speaker 2: never go out of style and you can listen to
- 22:45Speaker 2: from front to back? Easy for me?
- 22:48Speaker 1: Easy, go ahead.
- 22:49Speaker 5: We just brought them up on the last part. R
- 22:52Speaker 5: Kelly TP two. I don't care how you slice it.
- 22:56Speaker 5: That album Pound for Pound is one of my favorite
- 22:58Speaker 5: R and B albums. It's great, It's an amazing album.
- 23:01Speaker 5: Anything that you want, you want a little, you feel
- 23:03Speaker 5: a little sexy.
- 23:04Speaker 1: He got that on that.
- 23:05Speaker 5: You want a little inspiration, you miss your homie, I
- 23:08Speaker 5: wish you need something at the end, uh help and
- 23:14Speaker 5: ended ended it on like the gospel sound. He got
- 23:17Speaker 5: everything on that album.
- 23:17Speaker 1: I love that album.
- 23:18Speaker 5: I'm gonna listen to it on the on my long drive. Okay,
- 23:23Speaker 5: and many more.
- 23:25Speaker 4: We are so embarrassing Chicago people, we are so embarrassing.
- 23:29Speaker 1: He's a great album.
- 23:30Speaker 4: I understand. We just are embarrassing and we have to
- 23:33Speaker 4: own that. Well. It's a mental disorder.
- 23:34Speaker 3: So please anyone watching this not warn and raise in
- 23:36Speaker 3: Chicago who has good sense.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Don't hold it to that. Don't hold it against.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Us, don't hold it against our heart.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Right, it's just like we it's literally something programmed that's
- 23:45Speaker 3: wrong with us. But anyway, Tom Life after Death, Biggie
- 23:51Speaker 3: get all the time.
- 23:53Speaker 2: It never I would say all the time, but I
- 23:56Speaker 2: do listen to it a lot. I listen to that
- 24:00Speaker 2: both this, both this.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Both this what.
- 24:05Speaker 2: I can't think of any other ones but that I mean.
- 24:07Speaker 2: I like Reasonable Doubt.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I like.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Mary Jay's first album. I think that's a classic album.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Confessions that's mine. Danielle Jones.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Confessions for Me, Confessions all the way through, all the
- 24:23Speaker 4: way through.
- 24:24Speaker 1: And you made Superstar famous. I did appreciate that. I
- 24:29Speaker 1: had no idea.
- 24:31Speaker 4: You fumbled that.
- 24:32Speaker 3: I didn't know that Superstar was Uprea playing the hits
- 24:35Speaker 3: I was. You was not playing Superstar, I was playing.
- 24:38Speaker 3: So you fumbled that. I know you weren't playing it.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Over there, they just started playing.
- 24:44Speaker 4: R and B.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Of course I was playing that playing Superstar.
- 24:49Speaker 4: All right, you know what you was doing over there?
- 24:51Speaker 1: I don't.
- 24:51Speaker 2: I'm trying to tell you I was. I was on
- 24:54Speaker 2: this microphone while you were doing homework you.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I was gotta trust me on this one. What star was?
- 25:01Speaker 4: You was playing Superstar on that station?
- 25:04Speaker 1: Yes? All right, yes they only played But.
- 25:09Speaker 4: You're gonna get me if if I can prove that
- 25:11Speaker 4: you wasn't.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Okay, I got I got what you want. I got
- 25:14Speaker 1: a coach first.
- 25:15Speaker 3: I don't know coach it's fire, but Tom got too
- 25:23Speaker 3: much money to buy me coach. Coach is fire.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Designer over there.
- 25:30Speaker 3: I wasn't saying it like that. I'm saying it because
- 25:32Speaker 3: he's trying to low ball me. No what else?
- 25:36Speaker 4: Come back?
- 25:37Speaker 1: You like to what you what? You're gonna get me?
- 25:40Speaker 1: If I'm right?
- 25:41Speaker 2: You're not right because we only played We only played
- 25:45Speaker 2: straight hip hop for the first three years of that
- 25:48Speaker 2: that place being in its inception, and then we switched
- 25:51Speaker 2: to R and B and hip hop.
- 25:54Speaker 1: M hmm, just saying okay.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Okay, all right. You wouldn't know better than me, of course,
- 26:02Speaker 4: but you weren't playing.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Okay, you made it popular. We're not gonna be you
- 26:07Speaker 2: got it. Okay, we got a couple of minutes. Uh,
- 26:12Speaker 2: in this day and age, if you know your friend
- 26:15Speaker 2: is being cheated on, do you say something to or
- 26:17Speaker 2: do you quietly?
- 26:19Speaker 1: I didn't messed that whole question up. Don't worry about it.
- 26:22Speaker 1: We know it.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Thank you, you know what. I'm thank you. Thank you, bro.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Appreciate you, bro.
- 26:27Speaker 1: We know this. You know this one.
- 26:28Speaker 4: We did this right said they ain't gonna get to this.
- 26:31Speaker 1: He said, do you tell or do you keep quiet?
- 26:34Speaker 1: I got tired. I think we've answered it five times
- 26:39Speaker 1: on this podcast, ten on t SR Lie.
- 26:42Speaker 2: For god sake, t or Jemini with y'all, man, you
- 26:49Speaker 2: need to put it on my answer every time they
- 26:51Speaker 2: ask it.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna change my answer. What's the question?
- 26:54Speaker 4: What'd you tell?
- 26:55Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 26:55Speaker 5: I'm telling now because I know the last one I
- 26:57Speaker 5: said I wasn't, so I'm gonna tell now.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm telling it like I said three hundred times
- 27:03Speaker 2: on the podcast, three hundred and seventy seven times.
- 27:08Speaker 3: We have new viewers hopefully, guys, so we have to
- 27:12Speaker 3: introduce some of our biggest topics.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Oh okay, that's what it is that you're so smart?
- 27:18Speaker 2: I am going to I'm not gonna tell most people.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Only a few get told, like if anybody, if y'all too,
- 27:27Speaker 2: I'm telling some other people, I'm gonna tell other people. Nah,
- 27:32Speaker 2: you got to find out. Let lord, the Lord sort
- 27:35Speaker 2: it out for you.
- 27:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:36Speaker 3: I always say you have to decide how dumb is
- 27:38Speaker 3: your friend? You know what I'm saying, Like, I know
- 27:40Speaker 3: who I can tell and they'll they'll respect me or whatever,
- 27:44Speaker 3: and we could still be cool. But I know my
- 27:46Speaker 3: friends who I can tell, and I'll never hear from
- 27:48Speaker 3: them again in life. You know what I'm saying, Because
- 27:49Speaker 3: once he come back with his lie, you know what
- 27:51Speaker 3: I'm saying, I'm the enemy and you didn't fail for it. Like,
- 27:54Speaker 3: if I know you're dumb like that, I'm not even
- 27:56Speaker 3: gonna waste my time telling you because it wasn't Why
- 27:57Speaker 3: why would I interrupt your day? This is the normal
- 28:00Speaker 3: Tuesday for you to get you yournes. So you know
- 28:02Speaker 3: what I'm saying. You know you're getting chea droones. What
- 28:04Speaker 3: am I gonna do that for? So I just think
- 28:06Speaker 3: it depends on the friend. That's how I look at it.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and then how you find out, Like if it's
- 28:13Speaker 2: like if somebody's out out they they like out on
- 28:17Speaker 2: a date. I know that relationships about to be old.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Why do I need to tell? Because if that person is.
- 28:24Speaker 5: Bold enough to be out, yeah, yeah, there's something going on.
- 28:27Speaker 2: But if something gets told to me, like because a
- 28:30Speaker 2: friend knew or something, and it kind of can't it
- 28:32Speaker 2: wasn't supposed to be out.
- 28:34Speaker 5: Now, if I see my friend on BS, I'm gonna
- 28:36Speaker 5: tell them you wiling and you need to tighten up,
- 28:40Speaker 5: like whatever you got going on, bro, you are outside.
- 28:42Speaker 5: I don't know what y'all going through. You're doing way
- 28:45Speaker 5: too much, and I tell you about to lose something good.
- 28:48Speaker 5: You need to go ahead and get your ass in
- 28:49Speaker 5: the house. I've done that before. I had to tell
- 28:53Speaker 5: pull some friends to the side that ain't smart.
- 28:58Speaker 1: We don't do that.
- 28:58Speaker 4: We'd be like, yeah, y'all do. Women don't cheat.
- 29:04Speaker 1: We know guys you tripping.
- 29:08Speaker 4: That's good that y'all should tell each other that do.
- 29:11Speaker 1: I believe that. No, but y'all should tell each other
- 29:13Speaker 1: that we tell each other. I don't know. You got
- 29:17Speaker 1: brothers for you to have some of this mindset.
- 29:19Speaker 3: That's my brothers are faithful black men. We know nothing
- 29:23Speaker 3: about this topic. Okay, so thank you. Well, I will
- 29:25Speaker 3: say this except for one. He wild and I trusts.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Damn he listens to And I guarantee you that your
- 29:39Speaker 2: brothers have gone and told him when he is doing
- 29:42Speaker 2: something he wild and they were like, gee, like you
- 29:44Speaker 2: got a good one. Stop like you're gonna always You're
- 29:47Speaker 2: gonna always tell your boy he gonna do what you
- 29:50Speaker 2: want to do. But it's your job as your homer.
- 29:53Speaker 2: You see him wilding and you know he got a
- 29:55Speaker 2: good woman.
- 29:55Speaker 5: Like dog you Or if I see something publicly that
- 29:59Speaker 5: I know shouldn't be out, I'm hitting your line. I'm
- 30:03Speaker 5: definitely calling you. Hey, bro, it's some wild stuff going
- 30:07Speaker 5: on in it. You need to check this.
- 30:09Speaker 1: I'm doing it exact. Did that for me?
- 30:12Speaker 3: Yeah he did, But I just don't feel like if
- 30:15Speaker 3: you was out, bogus bogus Like, okay, so say we
- 30:17Speaker 3: all at the club, we all at the party, and
- 30:22Speaker 3: Zach is there and I'm there, and you got a
- 30:25Speaker 3: girlfriend that we all know and love, and you walk
- 30:29Speaker 3: in with another girl. I don't think Zach is gonna
- 30:33Speaker 3: get up stop the party and say, Tom, what are
- 30:37Speaker 3: you doing? You have a good woman at home. Stop
- 30:41Speaker 3: this cheating y'all not doing that for you.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Okay, First of all, Kiki, how do you stop? I
- 30:45Speaker 1: don't even know. I don't even know how you stop
- 30:48Speaker 1: the music stop. I don't know how to stop the party.
- 30:52Speaker 5: Okay, the party is going on. What I'm gonna say
- 30:56Speaker 5: is this, I'm gonna let him come in. We're gonna chill,
- 30:58Speaker 5: and I'm gonna check his watch. I'm gonna watch his interaction.
- 31:01Speaker 5: Just because he walked in with a girl does not
- 31:03Speaker 5: It's clear.
- 31:04Speaker 3: It's clear that he's cheating. We all, we all on
- 31:07Speaker 3: a triple date and he you with my man. He
- 31:10Speaker 3: bring in a girl that is not his.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Girl, that is not doing that.
- 31:14Speaker 5: I'm just saying, this is my hypothesis, your hypothetical situation.
- 31:20Speaker 5: What I'm gonna say it, I'm gonna wait. Of course,
- 31:22Speaker 5: I'm gonna let us finish our thing. I don't want
- 31:23Speaker 5: to mess.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Up the day.
- 31:25Speaker 5: Hey, you know a little while you know everybody see that,
- 31:28Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying, Like you that public.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna ask like kind of ask a question, like
- 31:32Speaker 1: is it that you know? Do you if he on
