- 0:54Sunday
- 1:00you heard it welcome to sunday sunday
- 1:04sunday night crossfit talk on a tuesday
- 1:08you better be careful maybe making a new
- 1:09theme song for tuesdays no this better not
- 1:13be a routine i prefer sundays for sure
- 1:16yeah just the holiday got us out of
- 1:18whack this week um when so that whole
- 1:21like on a tuesday
- 1:24rich eisen and his show does this thing
- 1:26called overreaction overreaction monday
- 1:30and sometimes like it bleeds over to
- 1:33tuesday and so they still play the same
- 1:35theme song for overreaction monday and at
- 1:38the end they go on a tuesday i
- 1:41love it so i stole it from him
- 1:45uh yeah
- 1:48Don't forget to like and subscribe,
- 1:49people.
- 1:50Like and subscribe to the channel.
- 1:53We need that.
- 1:54It helps the algorithm,
- 1:56especially when we're moving around
- 1:57throughout the week.
- 1:59People need to know where we are.
- 2:00And the more you do that.
- 2:04Tessa had her ice cream ready and
- 2:07everything for Sunday night.
- 2:09What kind of ice cream?
- 2:10I think we mentioned that we were going
- 2:13on Tuesday the last week.
- 2:15Right,
- 2:15we did we took through it out there
- 2:16that it was we didn't we didn't confirm
- 2:17I guess we could have been a little
- 2:18better with that.
- 2:22um.
- 2:24What was I I had something in my
- 2:25head and it just totally went away.
- 2:29Oh well that's the way it is that's
- 2:32the way it is on this thing um.
- 2:36We're here on Tuesday night, Labor Day.
- 2:38Hope everybody had a great long weekend.
- 2:41If you celebrate Labor Day, it's a big,
- 2:44important day to me.
- 2:44I mentioned it yesterday on my lunch show.
- 2:46My dad was a laborer for forty five
- 2:48years.
- 2:49And so Labor Day is very special in
- 2:51my heart because I lost my dad five
- 2:55years ago and I still miss him to
- 2:57death.
- 2:58And he was such a hardworking dude.
- 3:01And
- 3:03So happy belated Labor Day to everybody.
- 3:06Thank you for joining us tonight.
- 3:09But before we jump into too much stuff,
- 3:12don't forget to get your third Z so
- 3:14you have a nice, good recovery this week.
- 3:17They have a new flavor that just came
- 3:19out.
- 3:20Just straight up chocolate.
- 3:23Straight up chocolate.
- 3:26And I know some people tried to order
- 3:29it over the weekend and the Jazzy code
- 3:31didn't work.
- 3:32That has been rectified as of this
- 3:34morning.
- 3:35So now you can use Jazzy at checkout
- 3:38and get fifteen percent off your chocolate
- 3:42sleep and recovery tool.
- 3:45As well as strawberry lemonade is always
- 3:47in stock.
- 3:47I will be curious.
- 3:48Will people like mix that with milk or
- 3:51still like hot water and have it as
- 3:55i always did it with hot water i
- 3:56i do my i i never did it
- 3:58with um i've never done it with like
- 4:02uh what'd you do you do with milk
- 4:04no i do the salt's calmer with hot
- 4:05water because i like okay hot water it
- 4:07basically tastes like uh just nice little
- 4:09sweet hot warm drink i like it
- 4:12particularly in the winter time when
- 4:13you're a little cold and just like your
- 4:15hot drink at night yeah for sure but
- 4:18i could see the
- 4:19I do the milk.
- 4:21Yeah, I could see it being chocolate.
- 4:22And you could have it cold.
- 4:23Like if it's still warm and you want
- 4:25to cool it.
- 4:26So I did the salted caramel chocolate
- 4:28milk, both hot and cold.
- 4:30Okay.
- 4:32I've not tried the chocolate.
- 4:33I just got a bag.
- 4:36And so I'll probably try it tonight.
- 4:38I'll let you guys know.
- 4:41KDL doesn't want the straight up
- 4:42chocolate.
- 4:43He wants the curved down chocolate.
- 4:46That's not out yet.
- 4:49It's opposite of straight up chocolate
- 4:51that I said.
- 4:55Okay.
- 4:57And Tessa had a combo of Halo Top
- 5:00and Rebel.
- 5:00I don't know what Rebel is.
- 5:04It's Halo Top in a different container
- 5:07with a different name.
- 5:07Okay.
- 5:10Here's my thing with ice cream.
- 5:13There are things that I'm willing to
- 5:17compromise on.
- 5:19Ice cream isn't one.
- 5:20And I've just learned that if I just
- 5:23allow myself one medium twist cone a week,
- 5:27and sometimes I don't even get that,
- 5:29but just one a week,
- 5:30I just want the full-on thing.
- 5:32I don't want the Halo Top version or
- 5:35the low sugar, low carb.
- 5:38I just want one good ice cream cone
- 5:40a week.
- 5:42That's it.
- 5:44I don't mind the Halo Top,
- 5:45but I don't eat ice cream very often
- 5:47anyway.
- 5:50I don't mind it,
- 5:51but it's not like if I'm going to,
- 5:56it's like non-alcoholic beer.
- 5:58Yeah.
- 5:59You know,
- 6:00like if I'm going to have a beer,
- 6:02I'm going to have a beer,
- 6:03which I have not had one in a
- 6:04very long time.
- 6:06But if, if I'm going to, I don't,
- 6:12if I'm going to have non-alcoholic
- 6:14anything,
- 6:14there are better tasting beverages than
- 6:16the flavor of beer.
- 6:19I'll just have the better tasting
- 6:20beverage.
- 6:25Are you a Ben and Jerry's guy, Scott?
- 6:26I really wasn't.
- 6:28I don't know if I've had Ben and
- 6:29Jerry's more than five times in my life.
- 6:35We have a couple of homemade ice cream
- 6:37places here in town.
- 6:39We have graders,
- 6:40which is Oprah's favorite ice cream.
- 6:41And she shared on her big things.
- 6:44I like whatever show that she used to
- 6:46do.
- 6:47And then we have a place called Handles
- 6:49out of Youngstown that makes homemade ice
- 6:52cream.
- 6:53But I prefer soft serve.
- 6:56And soft serve ice cream places are dying.
- 7:00It used to be there were tasty freezes
- 7:02everywhere where you could just go up and
- 7:04get a soft serve.
- 7:05And Dairy Queen is not my favorite.
- 7:07So that's the only like chain of that.
- 7:10But we have a place that is in
- 7:12the neighboring town, ten miles away.
- 7:15that is where julie and i go to
- 7:17the lake on a sunday with the dog
- 7:20and then we go from the lake to
- 7:21the tasty freeze in the neighboring town
- 7:24and then we go home but julie's been
- 7:27gone for the last two weekends so i
- 7:29haven't even got ice cream in two weeks
- 7:31does that mean you're still behind on your
- 7:33shows so you can't watch anything without
- 7:37her i can there's she let me watch
- 7:39lanterns okay um
- 7:44But that's it.
- 7:45I watched one Reacher last night.
- 7:48I watched one Ted Lasso last night.
- 7:50And I watched one Lioness last night.
- 7:53I watched both Lionesses last night.
- 7:55So I need to catch up on all...
- 7:56I'm still one episode behind on all of
- 7:58them.
- 8:02So, yeah, I...
- 8:05yeah,
- 8:05Julie and I watched those together and she
- 8:08was, I mean,
- 8:10she was in the middle of Pennsylvania.
- 8:11She didn't have access to anything.
- 8:13And, uh, so yeah,
- 8:17KDL finished Richard season three last
- 8:19night.
- 8:21I thought I was behind.
- 8:23Yeah.
- 8:25This season is even crazier than every
- 8:27other season and way more graphic.
- 8:30Yeah.
- 8:34The guy in the head and the prison
- 8:36bars?
- 8:38Yeah.
- 8:39Yeah,
- 8:39that made me almost want to throw up.
- 8:47Oh, yeah.
- 8:48So, yeah.
- 8:48I don't want to give anything away.
- 8:51So,
- 8:51I watched movies the whole time Julie was
- 8:54away.
- 8:56If you have not seen In the Gray
- 8:58with Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill,
- 9:01stupendous movie.
- 9:02If you like action,
- 9:06It's great.
- 9:14I didn't like Duffy.
- 9:16Gosh, season three,
- 9:17I don't even remember who Duffy was.
- 9:21She was the woman cat or whatever.
- 9:25Okay.
- 9:30It's been a while.
- 9:34She was like the, you know,
- 9:35there's always one girl he gets involved
- 9:37with.
- 9:37It was her.
- 9:40Season three?
- 9:41Yeah.
- 9:42Okay.
- 9:43Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:44I got it now.
- 9:44Got it.
- 9:47I think this season of Reacher is the
- 9:49best so far.
- 9:49Loving it.
- 9:50Shelly Young.
- 9:51I'm loving it too.
- 9:53I think it is probably the best season
- 9:55because you don't know what's happening
- 9:56next.
- 9:57Yeah.
- 9:58Like every time you think you've got it
- 10:00pegged, it pivots.
- 10:04I haven't watched a single episode of
- 10:06whatever you guys are talking about.
- 10:07You got to watch it.
- 10:08It's good.
- 10:10I like don't really watch many series
- 10:12stuff at all.
- 10:14Well,
- 10:14it's only like eight episodes a season or
- 10:17something like that.
- 10:18So it doesn't take long to get through
- 10:19them.
- 10:21Prime.
- 10:21Prime.
- 10:21Prime.
- 10:28So.
- 10:31Yes.
- 10:31For instance,
- 10:31get involved with equals smashed.
- 10:34Yeah.
- 10:35There's always one every episode.
- 10:38He picked the wrong one this year.
- 10:45Because, well, I don't want to.
- 10:47That's a spoiler.
- 10:48Anyway, there's all that.
- 10:51I saw that, Jamie,
- 10:52you participated in the Hiller challenge.
- 10:56The pop-up challenge.
- 10:57What was that like?
- 10:57It was fine.
- 10:58Not the first time I've done it.
- 10:59How long did that take you?
- 11:05I have thirty-eight.
- 11:06Are you basically just going the whole
- 11:08time or your rest is maybe stopping the
- 11:10rings?
- 11:13Did you talk at all?
- 11:14You're a talker.
- 11:16No, I only talked like three times.
- 11:19You rested during the talk.
- 11:20I watched.
- 11:22Whatever.
- 11:24I watched you.
- 11:25You are a notorious talker.
- 11:27With one rep to go, you talked.
- 11:30Did you see rep twenty-nine?
- 11:34Yeah, it looked...
- 11:35Twenty-nine looked like I didn't know if
- 11:37you were going to get it or not.
- 11:38Right, so I was like, well,
- 11:39I'm not going to just jump up there
- 11:40and do that again.
- 11:44No,
- 11:44I actually got the chocolate strips and
- 11:48spent a year of not even touching
- 11:50chocolate.
- 11:52We have been friends for four years now,
- 11:55almost.
- 11:56Do you know how many times you stop
- 11:58in chocolate on the last rep?
- 12:01My insides flip.
- 12:04You sent me a video.
- 12:05I think it was not this year,
- 12:07but last year of a workout.
- 12:10I think it was a kettlebell one that
- 12:11we had.
- 12:12Oh, yeah.
- 12:13The toast of ours.
- 12:14And like you walked over to a bucket
- 12:16and you were the slowest chocker.
- 12:17And that was the first time I think
- 12:19you sent me a video.
- 12:20And I was like, Jamie,
- 12:21you don't need to talk this much.
- 12:24So I just assume now that you're just
- 12:26always looking to talk.
- 12:28She's a chocker.
- 12:30I'm actually not.
- 12:33But.
- 12:34It's a good excuse for a rest break.
- 12:37It totally depends on what I'm doing.
- 12:39If it's just a workout with photo bar,
- 12:42I don't really talk.
- 12:45Mark Phillips says,
- 12:46you always rip on the last rep smart
- 12:48move.
- 12:50I have ripped the last few times I've
- 12:52done a lot, like, three muscle-ups,
- 12:55I've ripped in the last five.
- 12:57I mean,
- 12:58I ripped at Fresh Coast right before the
- 12:59game doing muscle-ups.
- 13:01Like, lately, I've been tearing.
- 13:05I'd have to tell this part of that
- 13:06challenge.
- 13:07Was it your breathing, your triceps,
- 13:09your pull?
- 13:10What was your limiting factor?
- 13:14Press.
- 13:16It wasn't her breathing.
- 13:17No.
- 13:18Like she never,
- 13:20she kept pace other than the chalk.
- 13:22Yeah.
- 13:22I don't, I mean,
- 13:23I could go a little faster.
- 13:24I don't really know that I could go
- 13:26much faster.
- 13:28What was the waiting time?
- 13:30Four forty.
- 13:31Well, I don't know what the men got,
- 13:32but I think Ariel got like four forty.
- 13:37I do have to tell this one story
- 13:38about Jamie because the first time we ever
- 13:40met in person,
- 13:40I went up to Michigan to film her
- 13:43for a documentary of her.
- 13:46Was it quarterfinals then?
- 13:49I think so.
- 13:51And in the middle of a workout,
- 13:53she literally stopped and sat down on the
- 13:57floor.
- 13:58On the floor.
- 14:00Like I thought she,
- 14:02she had to give up.
- 14:03I didn't even know what to film at
- 14:05that point.
- 14:06And then all of a sudden,
- 14:06like she pops back up and keeps going.
- 14:09I was like,
- 14:09you just rest on the floor in the
- 14:11middle of a workout.
- 14:13I'm pretty sure like at NorCal.
- 14:15I sit on the weights.
- 14:17I think on my rogue qualifier,
- 14:21after my deadlifts,
- 14:22I just sat on the weights before the
- 14:24front squat a little bit.
- 14:25I'm like, middle of workout,
- 14:26like Lucas Parker,
- 14:27just sitting on the weights.
- 14:29Throwback to Canadian.
- 14:31Mark says that's some JY move there.
- 14:33Yeah, it kind of is.
- 14:34Yeah, he does it.
- 14:35I'll have to think about that more often.
- 14:38I haven't seen you do that maybe one
- 14:41other time since.
- 14:43Uh, no,
- 14:44I did it in that at MFC in
- 14:46that barbell workout.
- 14:48I hated that workout.
- 14:51It was like, I don't know.
- 14:54I think it was back squat, front squat,
- 14:55overhead squat mixed with,
- 14:56it was the one that I beat Corey
- 14:58on by like one rep.
- 14:59Like I did one extra overhead squat.
- 15:03Now every finish you flop to the ground.
- 15:06Yeah.
- 15:08That's like your signature move.
- 15:12It's like a touchdown celebration for an
- 15:14NFL player.
- 15:15You just,
- 15:16you go to the flop to the ground.
- 15:19Did you do that workout in?
- 15:20What was it?
- 15:21I started crossing in.
- 15:27Oh,
- 15:27so you weren't at semi-final at regionals.
- 15:29No, my first regional was like the,
- 15:32it was, it was a two-part workout.
- 15:34You had seven minutes.
- 15:35You had to start at like,
- 15:36there was like specific starting weights.
- 15:39It was three,
- 15:39a three rep over at squat and you
- 15:41could only go up by five pounds.
- 15:43So if you started at one twenty five,
- 15:44you had to do you could, you know,
- 15:45you had seven minutes.
- 15:46So you do one twenty five, one thirty,
- 15:47one thirty five till you till the time
- 15:49ran out.
- 15:50And at the nine minute mark,
- 15:51you had to start the burpee,
- 15:52the thirty burpee ring muscle ups.
- 15:55Yeah, I start crossing after that,
- 15:57but I know you're talking about because I
- 15:58just watched Hiller's thing today.
- 15:59Yeah, that was.
- 16:00Yeah.
- 16:01I mean,
- 16:02I feel like that's kind of why he
- 16:03threw it out there,
- 16:03because he was having it.
- 16:05this Heidi girl do it and he did
- 16:07it so yeah and I Sam was Sam
- 16:11Briggs was five nineteen back in twenty
- 16:13thirteen I feel like I could get that
- 16:18but that's that would just still been the
- 16:20winning time on this pop-up contest oh she
- 16:26did yeah okay well let's talk about the
- 16:31Hiller video since you brought it up
- 16:33Because I think that is exactly what's
- 16:35been missing in this space.
- 16:37And if people haven't seen it,
- 16:38I'm going to...
- 16:40If you've not seen this video,
- 16:43it is this one.
- 16:45Heidi Kunow,
- 16:47I think is how she pronounced it.
- 16:49It's called Next Generation Fit.
- 16:52It's on the Hiller YouTube channel.
- 16:55It is outstanding.
- 16:57And it's outstanding because of this.
- 17:00It is...
- 17:01Looking at media from a proactive view as
- 17:05opposed to a reactive view.
- 17:09This is a young up-and-coming athlete that
- 17:13Hiller went and filmed with for a day
- 17:15or two.
- 17:16I don't know what it was.
- 17:17And had her do a, uh,
- 17:19not a two thousand thirteen workout that
- 17:21Jamie and Carolyn just talked about.
- 17:24And her goals are to make the CrossFit
- 17:26Games.
- 17:27She finished in semifinals last year.
- 17:33But this is why Drive to Survive and
- 17:37Full Swing and all of those are successful
- 17:41because it gets you to know the players
- 17:44in the game before you watch the game.
- 17:49When we're reacting to the people who win
- 17:52and who are getting to the games already,
- 17:55most of us already know who those people
- 17:57are.
- 18:01I've never seen this girl perform ever.
- 18:03And now I want to watch her.
- 18:05I want to see if she makes it.
- 18:06It's a storyline that's been created
- 18:09because someone was proactive with their
- 18:11media.
- 18:14And we tried to do that for years
- 18:16with the semifinal interviews,
- 18:18but I was so small at the time.
- 18:20I agree.
- 18:21And I actually think that's what made
- 18:23things so much more exciting for me,
- 18:25like was getting to know some of these
- 18:27newbie athletes coming into semis,
- 18:30watching them at semis,
- 18:31seeing like what they're great at.
- 18:34You know,
- 18:34there's always like Hannah Black,
- 18:36like no one really knew her.
- 18:38We interviewed her, went and watched her,
- 18:39and you watch her just blow something out
- 18:41of the park, and you're like,
- 18:43that's her dance.
- 18:46It was, yeah.
- 18:46Uh, Tessa says it was awesome.
- 18:49Um, KDL,
- 18:50it was what road to the game should
- 18:51be.
- 18:53And it's relatable to young athletes road
- 18:56to the games used to be proactive.
- 18:59You know,
- 19:00there are people that were featured in
- 19:02road road to the games that never made
- 19:03the games.
- 19:06And because of that, like,
- 19:08I still remember who Tia Wright is,
- 19:10even though she never made the games.
- 19:12That's the first person that came to my
- 19:13mind too.
- 19:14I was just thinking in my head,
- 19:15I'm like, there's a blonde girl.
- 19:16I can't think of her name right now.
- 19:17And you just said it.
- 19:17Yep.
- 19:18Right.
- 19:19Because I,
- 19:20after that interview and then she was on
- 19:22the CrossFit podcast with her mom who
- 19:25worked out,
- 19:26like I know that story and I rooted
- 19:29for her after that.
- 19:31And even though she didn't make the games,
- 19:33like I still know her today.
- 19:38And that's,
- 19:39what's been missing for ever in this
- 19:41space.
- 19:44And I'm so glad that Hiller took the
- 19:46opportunity to take a gamble to do this
- 19:49because a lot of times when you do
- 19:51this and nobody knows the name,
- 19:53nobody clicks the start button.
- 19:56Is she in the Chicago area where he
- 19:58lives or he went to... She's in Wisconsin.
- 20:01That's why she likes Lydia Fish as well.
- 20:04Correct.
- 20:05This is where he went during WFP.
- 20:10So...
- 20:12My hope is she says she wants to
- 20:16work out with Lydia.
- 20:18I'm hoping that this is the connection and
- 20:21that episode two of this story is the
- 20:24two of them working out.
- 20:26She did say it's kind of far from
- 20:27Lydia.
- 20:30You can take a weekend.
- 20:31If this is your goal and you want
- 20:33to be the best,
- 20:34you'll take a weekend to go work out
- 20:35with Lydia Fish.
- 20:36Sure.
- 20:37I mean, to be fair,
- 20:38there might be athletes that are closer to
- 20:40her.
- 20:44true but if Lydia Fish is your hero
- 20:47that's where you go and Hiller has a
- 20:50connection with Lydia it just makes sense
- 20:54in my head but I get what you're
- 20:56saying the Bill Leahy thing was different
- 21:02because Bill Leahy was massacred for not
- 21:05following the rules ever in online
- 21:07competition and got bashed by Hiller for
- 21:11years and
- 21:12until they met at crash crucible and they
- 21:15talked it out live on video and that's
- 21:18what turned that around and it was still
- 21:19proactive in a way but it happened almost
- 21:25accidentally this had more of a plan
- 21:27behind it he was definitely already
- 21:33semi-final level
- 21:36Yeah, well,
- 21:37he would kill online and then always
- 21:40either not show up or get hurt at
- 21:43semis.
- 21:44And everybody was like, oh, he's just...
- 21:47And then he would always get his videos
- 21:49dinged for not following the rules.
- 21:57Most of us didn't know Folo until Hiller
- 21:59profiled her.
- 22:01I knew Folo because she fell apart at
- 22:04the end of semifinals and it was hard
- 22:06to watch.
- 22:06So hard to watch.
- 22:10That was hard to watch.
- 22:16But yeah,
- 22:17I just wanted to point that out.
- 22:18And if you,
- 22:19just because you don't know who this
- 22:20person is, it's still worth the watch.
- 22:24And while this is a great step for
- 22:26media,
- 22:27we as consumers need to
- 22:30Go like it.
- 22:31Go share it.
- 22:32Go do all those things so that more
- 22:35of this happens in the space.
- 22:37I mean, it's what, five, six hours in,
- 22:40and it's got a lot of views.
- 22:42Twenty-five thousand, maybe?
- 22:45Yeah,
- 22:46I've had it up for a little bit,
- 22:47but it's twenty-two thousand seven hundred
- 22:51right now.
- 22:52So, yeah.
- 22:53Hiller's been killing the videos really in
- 22:56the last...
- 22:56month or so like from the games like
- 22:59some like amy cringle stuff that he had
- 23:01like didn't have like a million views or
- 23:02something oh that doesn't surprise me he
- 23:04released that right right after the games
- 23:07and then he went and then he didn't
- 23:09release anything for a month so everyone's
- 23:11like scrambling to watch couldn't have
- 23:13been i mean this is best case scenario
- 23:16for this heidi because people are have
- 23:20been begging for him to come back so
- 23:21they're
- 23:27yeah it's good stuff so go check it
- 23:30out uh carolyn did you know tim paulson
- 23:33came from hockey too hockey players know
- 23:34hockey i didn't like know him when i
- 23:38was playing but i knew that he was
- 23:40a hockey player he did say good things
- 23:43about your hockey playing ability today on
- 23:46savan oh he was awesome yeah they were
- 23:49talking about like all the athletes that
- 23:51had hockey backgrounds yeah
- 23:56someone did i heard sauceman in the chat
- 24:02bring up sam paul trombley um but what
- 24:08it what i actually started was savannah
- 24:10goes i think you're the only person that's
- 24:12that played hockey and made it to the
- 24:14games and then like tim was like what
- 24:17about carolyn privo
- 24:20and he goes she was way better hockey
- 24:22player than i was and even played at
- 24:25the pro level and so he it was
- 24:29a nice shout out for you just just
- 24:31to let you know yeah not him i
- 24:35knew he played d one and then don't
- 24:37know i don't think he played after that
- 24:38he i think went all in on crossfit
- 24:41yeah he he bought a box while he
- 24:43was in college yeah
- 24:52Basically the Canadians, yeah.
- 24:53Yep.
- 24:53I mean, not wrong.
- 25:02Every time I hear like Canadians and
- 25:05hockey,
- 25:05all I can think of is the movie
- 25:07Mystery Alaska,
- 25:09where they skated to and from school and
- 25:11to...
- 25:14it's the easiest way to get around.
- 25:16So you just got good on skates.
- 25:21Um, what was, Oh,
- 25:24I want to tell you.
- 25:25So this is on the ketchup part.
- 25:29Um,
- 25:30so I started playing drums and you guys,
- 25:31I told you guys that,
- 25:32do you know what's a wild thing that
- 25:35has come from it?
- 25:37My step count has increased dramatically.
- 25:40Um,
- 25:41Because of the kick drum and the hands.
- 25:45It's the hands and the feet hitting the
- 25:47drum pedals.
- 25:49My step count has gone way up.
- 25:50What is it at now?
- 25:53Is it saying your average went up this
- 25:55week?
- 25:56Yeah, it did.
- 25:56My watch is like,
- 25:57your activity has gone way up.
- 25:59Blah, blah, blah.
- 26:00That's cool.
- 26:03And I'm having so much fun with it.
- 26:06So much fun.
- 26:06Are you learning through YouTube?
- 26:08Yeah.
- 26:10So the drum kit I got came with
- 26:12three months free of Drumeo,
- 26:15which is an online teaching software.
- 26:18And it's been great.
- 26:20I just have my iPad beside me,
- 26:23and I put the video on,
- 26:25and you play along.
- 26:27And because it's an electronic drum kit,
- 26:29I can Bluetooth to the iPad,
- 26:32and the instructor and my drums are all
- 26:34playing in my ears at the same time.
- 26:37So I can hear him play me play
- 26:40and his instruction.
- 26:41And I know that like,
- 26:44if I'm off beat,
- 26:45I can hear it because I'm not playing
- 26:47with him, which is,
- 26:51has been a great teaching tool.
- 26:55And I'm already doing fills around the
- 26:56whole drum kit.
- 26:57You decide to practice before your wife
- 27:02came back home so that all of the
- 27:04random noises were basically
- 27:07done with so when my wife wasn't home
- 27:09i i plugged my guitar amp into it
- 27:12so i could hear it out loud and
- 27:13like really crash it and do things now
- 27:16they warned you shouldn't do that because
- 27:18the bass drum is so deep and it
- 27:22can blow the speaker out of a guitar
- 27:23amp oh so i probably won't do that
- 27:27too many times but it was cool to
- 27:28kind of hear it all out
- 27:34Um, did you, Scott,
- 27:36did you watch the Travis Barker doc?
- 27:37I did.
- 27:38I watched it this weekend.
- 27:40One of the best documentaries I've ever
- 27:41seen.
- 27:44What that dude went through.
- 27:49If you don't know,
- 27:50he was the drummer for blink one,
- 27:51a two.
- 27:52He was in a plane crash.
- 27:54He,
- 27:55sixty-five percent of his body was burned.
- 27:58He lost all of his friends.
- 28:01and somehow survived and is killing it on
- 28:05the other side of that accident.
- 28:09It's a really cool, cool watch.
- 28:12But the crazy thing is the human body.
- 28:15He was taking so many painkillers before
- 28:17that because he had anxiety about flying
- 28:21and a bunch of other stuff that they
- 28:23had to dope him so much in the
- 28:25hospital that he hated it.
- 28:27And he went cold turkey after and has
- 28:29not touched drugs after.
- 28:34It's, it's a great, great,
- 28:36great documentary.
- 28:38But the problem,
- 28:39the only bad part is you sing blink
- 28:41one, eight, two for the next three days.
- 28:42I like one, eight, two growing up.
- 28:47That was one of,
- 28:48I think that was maybe my second answer
- 28:50to everyone.
- 28:50Yeah.
- 28:54Yeah,
- 28:54and the members of Blink-A-Metal are in it
- 28:57as well.
- 28:58And every famous drummer is in the
- 29:00documentary.
- 29:01And they even talk about Blink-A-Metal
- 29:05breaking up and them getting back together
- 29:07and other things that the band went
- 29:08through.
- 29:09So yeah, it's really good.
- 29:14I think Tessa is the one that recommended
- 29:15it to me.
- 29:17And I thank you so much for the
- 29:18recommendation.
- 29:19It was well worth it.
- 29:21right let's get into the real stuff um
- 29:27carolyn is now officially officially
- 29:30official going to rogue it was announced
- 29:39by rogue that her video submission was
- 29:41accepted
- 29:43And there she is listed on the female
- 29:45qualifiers, Carolyn Prevost,
- 29:48along with Emma Tall and Jennifer Muir.
- 29:52Jen's from Scotland, right?
- 29:56She is either UK or somewhere in that
- 30:02area.
- 30:04Yeah,
- 30:04because she wrote in her story that this
- 30:05is the biggest accomplishment of her
- 30:07career, so over the games.
- 30:09So I feel like she's – I didn't
- 30:11look if she's from Scotland,
- 30:12but that's got to be really cool if
- 30:13she gets to compete there with her home
- 30:15crowd and stuff.
- 30:19And then on the men's side,
- 30:20Fabian Hermans, Nate Ackerman,
- 30:22Chris Ibarra, and Bailey Martin.
- 30:26Big, big win for Nate Ackerman.
- 30:29I mean, and Ibarra.
- 30:30And Ibarra.
- 30:31That's awesome.
- 30:32Because both of them missed the games this
- 30:33year, correct?
- 30:34Yeah.
- 30:34Yeah.
- 30:35But Ibarra has been to events.
- 30:38Like this is the first big,
- 30:40big event Nate has qualified for,
- 30:44which is huge for him.
- 30:46Was Fabian there last year?
- 30:52I don't know.
- 30:53He smashed the qualifier.
- 30:55He did.
- 30:56He did.
- 30:59I saw some comments about that Rogue has
- 31:02set the precedence that you better be on
- 31:06your P's and Q's when it comes to
- 31:08video submission.
- 31:10And because of that,
- 31:11they had less penalties this year than in
- 31:14years past because everybody knows we have
- 31:17to do it right or we're going to
- 31:19get dinged.
- 31:20Yeah, I think for like a few years,
- 31:22people would be like, oh yeah, I forgot.
- 31:24I forgot.
- 31:24You know, by this time now,
- 31:26it's been like five years that they've
- 31:27done basically, well, since it's,
- 31:30that they've done the qualifier.
- 31:31So if you don't know the way your
- 31:33weights are to really read the rules and
- 31:36that's on you and to meet all standards,
- 31:39like they,
- 31:39they are sticklers for all of that.
- 31:43Yeah.
- 31:43Kind of like if you miss a rep
- 31:45in a round, your workout is done there.
- 31:47It doesn't matter if you got back to
- 31:48like that.
- 31:50number after like you miss the rep that's
- 31:56it they stop counting go to the next
- 31:59video so should crossfit take a cue from
- 32:01this and say look look what happens when
- 32:03we set a precedence and this can be
- 32:07what happens or is it is rogue just
- 32:11smaller and easier to do that with
- 32:14I don't think CrossFit has the bandwidth
- 32:15to do that.
- 32:16And look at how few people signed up
- 32:18for Rogue Qualifier because probably of,
- 32:21you know,
- 32:22the weighing of all the equipment.
- 32:24And I mean,
- 32:25it could just be because there's not that
- 32:27many places.
- 32:27So if they didn't feel the workouts were
- 32:29good,
- 32:30but I think you need almost like an
- 32:33in-between.
- 32:37Yeah, yeah.
- 32:39I wish there was some way to figure
- 32:42it out,
- 32:44but I've harped on this for years.
- 32:47I don't think it's going anywhere anytime
- 32:50soon.
- 32:50ROGA does have a smaller team,
- 32:52but they're not getting the thousands or
- 32:55hundreds of thousands of signups for their
- 32:59competitions.
- 33:01They may, in a good year,
- 33:02get a hundred qualifiers that do it.
- 33:05Yeah.
- 33:06Cause last year they only took one spot.
- 33:08Yeah.
- 33:09Like,
- 33:09and that probably deterred a lot of people
- 33:11cause they didn't announce how many they
- 33:13were taking this year.
- 33:15So the qualifier was already underway.
- 33:17Yeah.
- 33:17Well that I had seen it in a
- 33:19comment.
- 33:20Someone had asked like,
- 33:21how many spots this year?
- 33:22Then they wrote three.
- 33:23So then I saw it and I was
- 33:24like, okay, three.
- 33:26So once I saw the workouts,
- 33:27I was like, okay,
- 33:28I think I can give these a go,
- 33:31see what happens.
- 33:32And I was on the good end of
- 33:33the tree.
- 33:34Did you see they put up the current
- 33:38payout for athletes?
- 33:40I did not see that.
- 33:44So I think the lowest you can make
- 33:47at Rogue is like fifty eight hundred,
- 33:49something like that.
- 33:52where the top end is well over a
- 33:54hundred grand.
- 33:55And it's, it doesn't,
- 33:58it doesn't come off a cliff like the
- 33:59games.
- 34:00Yeah.
- 34:01It's more of an incremental.
- 34:03Like the first place is just a little
- 34:05bit under the games,
- 34:07but the second place is above second place
- 34:10of the games.
- 34:11So I don't get when people are like,
- 34:13Oh, I'm not peaked, whatever this comp,
- 34:15like bullshit.
- 34:16Like you need to peak the road.
- 34:18Like you can win more money there than
- 34:19you will at the games.
- 34:21which I don't, you know,
- 34:24but I think that's a lot of talk
- 34:25that people do often.
- 34:27I'm trying to find it real quick while
- 34:28you guys are talking.
- 34:30But yeah,
- 34:31so that's great opportunity for money for
- 34:34the top end people.
- 34:35Anyways, to try to get that big,
- 34:38large cash money.
- 34:41Plus the trip is paid for too.
- 34:43They pay six nights hotel and then they
- 34:45give a travel stipend for your flight in
- 34:48the past.
- 34:50Um,
- 34:51North Americans had a certain amount and
- 34:52then Europeans, international,
- 34:55not just Europeans,
- 34:56international had a little bit more
- 34:59because they were coming to the States.
- 35:01I don't know now because I haven't
- 35:02competed at Rogue in Europe.
- 35:05I'm assuming North American would have a
- 35:07little bit more travel stipend than other
- 35:10places.
- 35:13What more can you ask for when the
- 35:16trip is paid for and you don't have
- 35:18to
- 35:19think about all that and then you just
- 35:20get to compete.
- 35:20So I cannot find where I saw it
- 35:26now.
- 35:31Oh, well.
- 35:34It looked like it was pretty good.
- 35:36They always pay out well and they do
- 35:38the travel and when you have no expense
- 35:41to get there and you get well not
- 35:43no expense but a stipend to get there
- 35:45and a great payout.
- 35:47That's pretty awesome.
- 35:48no-brainer yeah in the slide to fill out
- 35:52like a registry not registration like some
- 35:55sort of like form and that's where my
- 35:57measurement from my belly button to my
- 35:59knee so I already know what that's for
- 36:01another no a tilt my kilt can't wait
- 36:07hopefully I measured correctly sorry I'm
- 36:14looking something up
- 36:17they always have such cool unique like
- 36:20little giveaways like every single year
- 36:24like they had the baseball jerseys they
- 36:26had the guitar they've had the i think
- 36:28they did golf sets maybe last year golf
- 36:31club or something yeah i'll be anxious to
- 36:33know what the what the toy is this
- 36:35year yeah and like i don't know if
- 36:39If the kilt is just for if you
- 36:41haven't been there before.
- 36:43That is what it is.
- 36:45Yeah,
- 36:45because the athletes that already have it,
- 36:47I think they just maybe call up to
- 36:48bring it or...
- 36:51That is what I was told last year.
- 36:52If you already had your kilt,
- 36:54you were just told to bring it.
- 36:56And then if you didn't have one,
- 36:59they make one for you for that year.
- 37:00Because it's like a special thread based
- 37:04on an ancestry,
- 37:06all kinds of stuff like that.
- 37:08So...
- 37:10Yeah.
- 37:12That's awesome.
- 37:13Uh,
- 37:13Tessa wants to know what Katie's like at
- 37:14rogue.
- 37:17She's nice.
- 37:17I mean, yeah, she was often, you know,
- 37:20pen and paper when I'm there taking out,
- 37:22taking down my splits.
- 37:25Every,
- 37:25every interaction I've had with Katie is
- 37:28completely friendly, but all business,
- 37:31all business and cares a lot,
- 37:34a lot about the experience for the
- 37:37athletes.
- 37:38Um,
- 37:40yeah that's like their big thing is they
- 37:42want the athletes to be showcased they
- 37:44want their equipment obviously to be
- 37:45showcased but cares a lot about the
- 37:47competition um in general wants to get it
- 37:51right like every aspect of it and yeah
- 37:53hard working always on the floor super
- 37:56busy all the time the only time she
- 37:59has not very personal too the only time
- 38:02she hasn't been all business with me is
- 38:04when she dogs me about penn state because
- 38:06she loves ohio state
- 38:08I get the text from her whenever Ohio's
- 38:11playing Wisconsin for hockey or something.
- 38:17I get her back sometimes though, too.
- 38:20So yeah,
- 38:21that's the only she loves her Ohio State
- 38:23Buckeyes.
- 38:24Like her name is in the rafters.
- 38:26She is a commentator for the women's
- 38:28basketball team.
- 38:31I think that's her like her stress relief
- 38:34from the rogue business.
- 38:39uh does she bs with the athletes um
- 38:44i wouldn't say anything she does is bs
- 38:46with people she when she is there at
- 38:48an event it is literally about everything
- 38:52in the setup of that event she'll be
- 38:55cordial cordial but not like just stop and
- 38:58bs wouldn't you say that's a lot like
- 39:01what dave is like she's more cordial than
- 39:05dave like dave is very friendly
- 39:12It's different.
- 39:13I don't know how to describe it.
- 39:17I mean,
- 39:17I think he cares deeply about how that
- 39:21plays out on the floor,
- 39:22and that's what he's doing.
- 39:25He's out there on the floor watching every
- 39:27piece move, just like Katie would.
- 39:29Yeah,
- 39:29they might see it from two different ways.
- 39:34She would have a different role at the
- 39:36games than she will for the Rogue
- 39:38Invitational, so...
- 39:40because she plays a part in the
- 39:41programming for Rogue alongside... I mean,
- 39:44if it hasn't changed, then, you know,
- 39:47Spieler, Josh, her,
- 39:49I think have done the last few years.
- 39:53Many years ago, Mayhem also programmed.
- 39:56I think they went back to their little
- 39:57group.
- 39:58I'm assuming it's them again, but yeah,
- 40:01I mean, she carries out the work.
- 40:03Because they put so much on the line
- 40:05money-wise,
- 40:06Like they don't,
- 40:07they're not claiming to be the fittest
- 40:09competition at all.
- 40:10They have their own, uh, style,
- 40:13but they still want it to be a
- 40:17good fitness competition because of the
- 40:20amount of money that's online.
- 40:22Um,
- 40:23so they don't want to completely wreck the
- 40:25athletes and,
- 40:27or like make it so skewed to a
- 40:30certain way.
- 40:31Does Bill walk around too or is he
- 40:33behind the scenes?
- 40:34If you can find Bill talking at all,
- 40:38you have seen a rare animal.
- 40:42The only time I've ever seen Bill talk
- 40:44is my best friend did a commercial with
- 40:47Rogue because at the time he was a
- 40:49crane operator and they were doing like...
- 40:53how you know the the laborers and all
- 40:57of that are also rogue ath or like
- 41:00workout in gyms and stuff so they filmed
- 41:02him on the job and then filmed him
- 41:04in a thing and every time i'm with
- 41:06him and bill is around he goes there's
- 41:08my guy and he'll run over and like
- 41:11hug my best friend and then he goes
- 41:13off and does this thing again
- 41:15Bill is a lot more involved in the
- 41:16strongman side of things at Rogue.
- 41:19So he, I don't know,
- 41:21I think he programs alongside,
- 41:23there's just one guy, like pitchers idea.
- 41:26I think he's an ex-strongman guy.
- 41:29Martin or, no, no.
- 41:33Someone,
- 41:34but he's very involved in the strongman
- 41:36side and Katie takes care more of the
- 41:37CrossFit side of things.
- 41:39So I don't see Bill as much,
- 41:41but he's always busy and working hard.
- 41:44Magnus von Magnusson.
- 41:45Oh, yeah.
- 41:48Yeah, he's always at Rogue with him.
- 41:51Jerry, that's who I had in mind, Jerry.
- 41:53Oh, Jerry, okay.
- 41:54Yeah, Perry's always there, too.
- 41:55Yeah, Magnus is the head judge, generally.
- 41:59Jerry's on the broadcast.
- 42:00Have they announced the events this year
- 42:02so far for the Strongman?
- 42:04No, I haven't seen them.
- 42:07Okay.
- 42:07I wonder if the Strongman...
- 42:09know because i'm assuming they would know
- 42:11already right now what advanced events
- 42:13they're planning for the strongmen know
- 42:17well in advance well they usually have one
- 42:20big apparatus of some sort that's either
- 42:23new or so yeah i'd like to know
- 42:30what those are to see if there's any
- 42:32workouts that i can see if there's any
- 42:35you know themes
- 42:38that could get moved to the CrossFit side.
- 42:45One piece of sad news I did want
- 42:47to share with you guys tonight is a
- 42:50Masters athlete who was a nine-time
- 42:54Masters athlete at the Games passed away
- 42:58from cancer.
- 43:00She was fighting a long battle.
- 43:02Her name is Linda Neustam.
- 43:05I got to go to my notes.
- 43:08Linda Elston.
- 43:09Linda Elston.
- 43:11That's a picture of her.
- 43:14um she is friends with uh our shanna
- 43:17bunce who is in the comments uh shanna
- 43:20let me know that uh she fought and
- 43:24fought and fought and lost the battle
- 43:27today and wanted to make sure that people
- 43:30knew she's a nine-time games athlete she
- 43:33loved the sport she loved crossfit and uh
- 43:38fought the courageous battle but gave into
- 43:40it today so
- 43:42Thoughts and prayers to her family and
- 43:45everything there.
- 43:54Was she in the same division?
- 43:57Yeah,
- 43:58her last game's appearance was in the
- 43:59fifty-five to fifty-nine,
- 44:00and I think Shanna was in that division
- 44:02at that point.
- 44:04Her last game's appearance was
- 44:05twenty-three, I believe.
- 44:09Yeah.
- 44:11Nine years.
- 44:14Last good year.
- 44:19That's a lot of years.
- 44:19So now let's talk about the Service Cup.
- 44:21On the show,
- 44:22we actually have the last year's champion
- 44:27of the CrossFit Service Cup.
- 44:30Can I just say,
- 44:31Carolyn Prevost had a hell of a year.
- 44:34The last three hundred sixty five days
- 44:37have been pretty awesome for Carolyn
- 44:39Prevost.
- 44:41Service Cup winner, Masters Games winner,
- 44:45Rogue qualifier, WFP participant,
- 44:49going to the finals of WFP.
- 44:53Damn.
- 44:55It's been busy.
- 44:58I'm looking at the days off I'm going
- 44:59to have to take of work,
- 45:00and I'm like, ugh.
- 45:01Let's see.
- 45:03Today was my first day back at school.
- 45:06Students came back today.
- 45:07That's fun.
- 45:10So Service Cup,
- 45:13the online version of the competition
- 45:16starts in like on September fourteenth,
- 45:19goes to the twenty first.
- 45:21There are divisions for everyone.
- 45:23There is a division now for first
- 45:27responder supporter.
- 45:30So if you just want to be a
- 45:32supporter,
- 45:34you can do the workouts as well.
- 45:36It doesn't mean that you get to go
- 45:38to mayhem at the end of the year
- 45:40to compete.
- 45:41Um, cause that is reserved for teachers,
- 45:46uh, military, uh, fire.
- 45:50Yeah.
- 45:50Police medical fire medicals in there too.
- 45:56Yeah.
- 45:57So it's police, fire, medical teachers,
- 46:00uh,
- 46:06and military yeah um yeah so the there's
- 46:14four workouts this one looks yeah it
- 46:19reminds me of the open workout point one
- 46:21yeah but it was like
- 46:25Okay, fifty box jump overs,
- 46:27med ball step overs,
- 46:28lateral burpee box jump overs to finish.
- 46:30Like that fifty to finish is rough.
- 46:33Yes.
- 46:33So all of these, and like this one,
- 46:36if you notice,
- 46:36the women are going to a ten foot
- 46:38target here.
- 46:39Same as the men.
- 46:41So these workouts,
- 46:42you have to do it as prescribed.
- 46:44I'm going to program it for the affiliate
- 46:46that I train at across the Coliseum.
- 46:49but we'll give them scaled versions of
- 46:51these.
- 46:52They just can't sign up unless they do.
- 46:56That's a lot of wall ball shot.
- 46:59Yes, it is.
- 47:00So I wanted,
- 47:01when I saw this at first,
- 47:03the Fifty Medicine Ball box stepovers,
- 47:05we talked about at the games running with
- 47:07the med ball.
- 47:08Is that different than box overs with a
- 47:11med ball?
- 47:14I mean,
- 47:15I held mine like this in the open.
- 47:19Some people held it here or here.
- 47:23So it's definitely way different than
- 47:26running for sure.
- 47:29It's much easier.
- 47:30I would say because in the run,
- 47:32you almost have to go like this so
- 47:34that you can use your other arm,
- 47:36which then puts you here.
- 47:37You don't have to put it here on
- 47:40the box step overs, I guess.
- 47:44Um, but yeah, this one just screams yucky.
- 47:49Joey Perez,
- 47:49looking forward to this one the least.
- 47:53Mark,
- 47:53I had zero fun with med ball stepovers.
- 47:57If I remember correctly,
- 47:58Mark Phillips is not a tall athlete.
- 48:05So then we go to workout two.
- 48:07It's as many reps as possible in eight
- 48:09minutes of, fifty foot back rack lunge,
- 48:12twenty-five pull-ups,
- 48:14fifty foot front rack lunge,
- 48:16twenty-five chest to bar pull-ups,
- 48:19fifty foot overhead lunge,
- 48:21max bar muscle-ups.
- 48:23I think they missed on this one.
- 48:25I think a lot of affiliates,
- 48:27and I want to program it for my
- 48:28affiliate,
- 48:29a lot of affiliates cannot do a barbell.
- 48:32Overhead walking lunge,
- 48:33front rack walking lunge with multiple
- 48:35people doing the workout.
- 48:36Like spacing wise,
- 48:38this is not smart to put in an
- 48:41online competition.
- 48:42We did it in twenty sixteen,
- 48:43twenty sixteen point one.
- 48:46I think it was with like burpees,
- 48:49chest to bars and stuff like that.
- 48:51I think this is like annoying to do
- 48:54with a class.
- 48:55sure it's it's definitely not every gym is
- 48:58like mayhem that can have all this space
- 49:00to do front rack and stuff like i
- 49:03don't a lot of times we have to
- 49:04just do you know for fifty foot let's
- 49:05say sixteen on the spot yeah that's what
- 49:09we'll do i mean
- 49:11If I was going to program this in
- 49:12class,
- 49:13I would just have them use dumbbells.
- 49:14I would just do farmer.
- 49:15Yeah,
- 49:16I wish they didn't do a barbell here.
- 49:18I wish they just did.
- 49:18It doesn't need to be the exact same,
- 49:21though.
- 49:21Like, this is fine.
- 49:23If you want to make this, do it.
- 49:25If you want to program it for class,
- 49:26you just use dumbbells.
- 49:28I think it's fine.
- 49:30No,
- 49:30I just think it's annoying because people
- 49:33want to still do the RX version.
- 49:38You know how it is.
- 49:39Yep.
- 49:40Um, so you do dumbbells.
- 49:42Now that's grippy.
- 49:43Like that's not grippy with,
- 49:46with chest to bars and bar.
- 49:48You can relax your grip in this way
- 49:51or here.
- 49:51Like you can open your hand up.
- 49:53Um, those change that.
- 49:55Like I'll just probably write in a notes.
- 49:57Like if space doesn't allow, you know,
- 50:00do a on the spot.
- 50:02Yeah.
- 50:02You know,
- 50:06but the workout progresses in gymnastics.
- 50:10um progresses i think in difficulty of the
- 50:13lunge you know back rack being the easiest
- 50:15one front rack second and then overhead
- 50:19third one so fun workout to do i
- 50:22just think it's difficult to include in a
- 50:25lot of affiliates especially yeah yeah
- 50:32that's all same uh peter benoit that will
- 50:37be an outside wad garage not big enough
- 50:40And Joey Perez says the push-up or pull-up
- 50:43chest-to-bar bar muscle-up progression is
- 50:45getting stale.
- 50:49There are only so many movements, though,
- 50:51you can do in an online competition that
- 50:53can be judged.
- 50:54Like, you are kind of restricted.
- 50:58We have to remember that.
- 51:03Workouts three A and three B.
- 51:06On a fifteen minute clock, four time,
- 51:09ten shuttle runs, fifteen clean and jerks,
- 51:12ten shuttle runs, twelve clean and jerks,
- 51:14ten shuttle runs, nine clean and jerks,
- 51:16ten shuttle runs, nine clean and jerks.
- 51:20One shuttle run is twenty-five feet down
- 51:22and twenty-five feet back.
- 51:23So it's fifteen, twelve, nine,
- 51:25nine on the clean and jerks.
- 51:28And then at the fifteen minute mark,
- 51:31complete workout three B in three minutes,
- 51:34establish a one rep max clean jerk.
- 51:37Three minutes.
- 51:38Fast.
- 51:41Is it one thirty five ninety five?
- 51:43One thirty five ninety five for the
- 51:44workout.
- 51:45Wow.
- 51:46I'm hoping I haven't looked at all the
- 51:48standards yet.
- 51:49I'm hoping you can like load up.
- 51:52Second bar already read.
- 51:54Ready?
- 51:55either a second bar or start warming up
- 51:59your lift before the minute mark.
- 52:01If you're already, let's say,
- 52:02I don't even know how long that's going
- 52:03to take, but let's say that takes,
- 52:05you know,
- 52:06a certain amount of time and I have
- 52:07plenty of time.
- 52:08I can already begin.
- 52:09And then after three minutes,
- 52:11here comes my bigger lifts.
- 52:13Um,
- 52:17Like,
- 52:17I hope that you don't have to wait
- 52:19with the bar at ninety five pounds for
- 52:20the three minutes because that's going to
- 52:22be like a huge jump and not fun
- 52:25to do.
- 52:28Yeah,
- 52:28you should be able to touch the bar
- 52:31before that fifteen minute mark,
- 52:33just not no lift counts or something.
- 52:36Yeah,
- 52:36which I'll assume that that's the case and
- 52:39that you can start warming up your clean
- 52:41and jerk because I mean,
- 52:43that first part won't take fifteen minutes
- 52:46for
- 52:48a lot of people.
- 52:50They will for some people.
- 52:53And then finally, workout four for time,
- 52:55a hundred double-unders,
- 52:56Carolyn's favorite,
- 52:57fifty alternating dumbbell snatches,
- 53:00one hundred double-unders.
- 53:01Quick one.
- 53:04Thirty-five, fifty.
- 53:04That is a quick one.
- 53:10No room for error.
- 53:11Nope.
- 53:11Now, so Carolyn,
- 53:11so we all know that double-unders is your
- 53:13Achilles heel.
- 53:16and but when it's an online competition
- 53:19and you can repeat does that take some
- 53:21of the pressure off of it no not
- 53:26really um this volume should be okay for
- 53:33me um it's when i start getting in
- 53:35that above three hundred a lot under a
- 53:38lot of shoulder fatigue that's when my
- 53:41technique deteriorates and just my bad
- 53:44habits start coming back
- 53:46But this one I think should be okay.
- 53:50So once you're done these four workouts,
- 53:52so if people don't know, um,
- 53:55you have this like overall leaderboard for
- 53:57each of your services.
- 54:00And then the winner of each of the
- 54:03divisions that are moving on gets to
- 54:05choose a partner from their respective
- 54:08division.
- 54:09And the finals is actually a partner
- 54:11competition,
- 54:12not an individual competition.
- 54:15And.
- 54:15you and your partner are trying to win,
- 54:17let's say for the educators or military or
- 54:20whatnot.
- 54:21And you can pick anyone that has done
- 54:23the service cup.
- 54:28Now,
- 54:28I don't know if you have to have
- 54:29done the open to sign up for the
- 54:32service cup.
- 54:34Do you know if you have to do
- 54:35the open or you can just sign up
- 54:37for the service cup?
- 54:38I've never seen any requirement for this
- 54:40because it's outside the season.
- 54:42So I would assume no.
- 54:44Yeah, because I mean,
- 54:45I guess people could have started CrossFit
- 54:47right now and not have done the open
- 54:50or injured during the season and now
- 54:52they're fine.
- 54:52Yeah, so I'm assuming Yeah,
- 54:54so anyone that wants to sign up then
- 54:56for it.
- 54:58And then finals takes place at CrossFit
- 55:00Mayhem.
- 55:02And last year, it was super fun.
- 55:05They treated us
- 55:06amazing it was one of my favorite comps
- 55:08of the year that i did we got
- 55:11like jerseys yeti backpacks they had prize
- 55:13money even for the podium um they had
- 55:16snacks for us really really well organized
- 55:19by mayhem which i wouldn't expect any less
- 55:21because they're very very professional
- 55:24super fun so if you are in the
- 55:27service division take on those workouts
- 55:30sign up and try to take down the
- 55:32educators
- 55:33Are you going to do another comp?
- 55:35Are you going to add that one again?
- 55:36I'm doing it next week.
- 55:38Wow.
- 55:39I don't know if I were to qualify
- 55:42if I go to the finals yet.
- 55:43I don't know.
- 55:43I haven't decided.
- 55:48I have decided that I won't do Crash
- 55:51though.
- 55:56That's a lot.
- 55:56Too much in my first semester of teaching
- 55:58my poor students would be not happy with
- 56:01that.
- 56:04So good luck to Carolyn on that next
- 56:06week, and we'll check on her.
- 56:10For what?
- 56:11Just do them for you?
- 56:12No, you can do it as a supporter.
- 56:16No, no.
- 56:16Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 56:18There's like CrossFit coaches are a
- 56:20division.
- 56:20You don't move on to the finals,
- 56:22but you can see where you stack up
- 56:24with the CrossFit coaches.
- 56:26I don't have my own one.
- 56:28Why do you need your own one?
- 56:37I don't know if that's a requirement.
- 56:38I think just like fitness professional.
- 56:40I think I'm trying to think it's not
- 56:42even I don't even think it has to
- 56:44be a CrossFit coach.
- 56:45It's like Oh, remember all the divisions.
- 56:54Well, while Carolyn's looking that up,
- 56:55I'll move on to the next news item,
- 56:56which is always Jamie's favorite topic to
- 56:59talk about.
- 57:03We had our first positive test from the
- 57:06CrossFit Games.
- 57:10Wayne O'Hara failed drug test after podium
- 57:13finish at the CrossFit Games.
- 57:14Second place?
- 57:20He was second place at this year's
- 57:21CrossFit Games.
- 57:23Last year he was eighteenth.
- 57:27Now they're making a big deal of him
- 57:29moving from eighteenth to second,
- 57:30but he was in a different division last
- 57:32year.
- 57:33Yeah.
- 57:34And aged up to this division.
- 57:36So there are some reasonings behind why
- 57:39that jump may happen.
- 57:41And again, I said this is afternoon.
- 57:43I'm not making excuses for the guy.
- 57:45He popped.
- 57:45He tested positive.
- 57:47He did the juice.
- 57:50But sixty-five years old,
- 57:51look at those arms.
- 57:55Dang.
- 57:59A lot of them look like that.
- 58:02I feel like that's sort of the problem.
- 58:04Yeah, I mean,
- 58:04they only test the top three this year,
- 58:08I think.
- 58:08Yeah, I was surprised because it's been...
- 58:12Top five?
- 58:12Yeah.
- 58:13Yeah, it's been five in the fifth plate.
- 58:15So this is Jim's age bracket.
- 58:17And when Jim was third,
- 58:20the fifth place man popped that same age
- 58:23bracket.
- 58:24But I feel like this age bracket is
- 58:27kind of notorious for it.
- 58:28And I feel like you need to test
- 58:30more than just the top three.
- 58:35Someone brought up on the lunch show today
- 58:37that if you fail a drug test,
- 58:39you should have to pay for it.
- 58:44because you know everybody talks about
- 58:48that it's expensive and we can't test more
- 58:51well that's a way to recoup the funds
- 58:57sign an agreement that if you're tested
- 58:59and you test positive you have to pay
- 59:00for the test it adds just one more
- 59:10thing that as a deterrent
- 59:13To not want to test positive?
- 59:16If you're going to have to pay a
- 59:17couple thousand for the test?
- 59:19I just don't think you're getting that
- 59:20money back from that person after they get
- 59:22a four-year ban.
- 59:25If it's a contract, though.
- 59:27Pay first and you get refunded if you
- 59:31don't stop.
- 59:32Here's the thing that's crazy to me.
- 59:35It ain't like the money in sixty five
- 59:37to sixty nine is so good that it's
- 59:41worth like I'm sure these drugs aren't
- 59:43cheap.
- 59:46Like his investment in in making the
- 59:49podium is way more than he'll ever recoup
- 59:52as an athlete.
- 59:55And but I mean,
- 59:55I feel like at that age,
- 59:56some of them are not even taking it
- 59:57in terms of their performance.
- 59:59It could just be for their health.
- 1:00:01at that point and like they're signing up
- 1:00:03for crossfit because they like crossfit
- 1:00:06and it sucks because that's that's what's
- 1:00:08going on you know for a lot of
- 1:00:11them like it doesn't even need to be
- 1:00:13about the money it just could be that
- 1:00:17their body is not what it was when
- 1:00:19i was younger what did he pop for
- 1:00:21was it for testosterone
- 1:00:25Yeah,
- 1:00:25I don't think the article actually said
- 1:00:27it, that the spin put out today,
- 1:00:30because I think he got it from a
- 1:00:31source and not the official drop from
- 1:00:35CrossFit.
- 1:00:38Joey Perez,
- 1:00:39I don't care if people get TRT or
- 1:00:41whatever,
- 1:00:41if they feel like it improves in their
- 1:00:43life,
- 1:00:44but why sign up for a competition knowing
- 1:00:46damn well you're going to pop?
- 1:00:47I can't understand.
- 1:00:49I agree.
- 1:00:50If you're not competing,
- 1:00:52do all the drugs you want.
- 1:00:53I don't care.
- 1:00:55Feel like a million bucks.
- 1:00:56Look great on the beach.
- 1:00:59That's all you.
- 1:01:00But the minute you sign up for a
- 1:01:01competition,
- 1:01:02there are rules and you have to follow
- 1:01:04the rules.
- 1:01:07Exactly.
- 1:01:08Yes, that's what I think too.
- 1:01:11Do what you need to do for your
- 1:01:12health or whatever,
- 1:01:13but this is a drug-free competition and
- 1:01:18you have rules.
- 1:01:20We think this is the first of many?
- 1:01:22I don't know.
- 1:01:25seems awful late to me because the games
- 1:01:29are the games are ended july it's usually
- 1:01:38like two to three months is when we
- 1:01:40get the reports like we're only five what
- 1:01:45five weeks i i would say we don't
- 1:01:47usually see them till like six weeks so
- 1:01:50i we might get some more in the
- 1:01:51next week or two
- 1:01:55Doesn't testosterone have to be pretty
- 1:01:57high to pop?
- 1:01:57I believe so.
- 1:02:00I feel like he probably could have just
- 1:02:01been using a little bit to be baseline,
- 1:02:06and clearly he was blasting it.
- 1:02:08Yeah.
- 1:02:10I think your T count has to be
- 1:02:12over like nine hundred to pop.
- 1:02:17They can't distinguish, I don't think,
- 1:02:19between natural testosterone and
- 1:02:24No.
- 1:02:26Is it called synthetic testosterone?
- 1:02:28Is that what it's called?
- 1:02:29Not with the tests they're using.
- 1:02:32Because it would be very cost prohibitive
- 1:02:35to get anything.
- 1:02:37And I am just trying to repeat what
- 1:02:39I remember from what Hiller said.
- 1:02:40Yeah.
- 1:02:42I don't, please don't come at me.
- 1:02:44I am not a steroids expert.
- 1:02:46I am not a medical professional.
- 1:02:48I don't know any,
- 1:02:49I'm just trying to repeat what Hiller said
- 1:02:52in a video one time where I think
- 1:02:54that you, there are tests that can,
- 1:02:57but they would be very cost prohibitive in
- 1:03:00a,
- 1:03:00in this niche sport environment that we're
- 1:03:04in.
- 1:03:05Well,
- 1:03:05you better get Wayne on and ask him
- 1:03:06how much he was taking.
- 1:03:11Yeah.
- 1:03:12I have had people on who have popped
- 1:03:13before.
- 1:03:14Yeah, you have.
- 1:03:15And they talk about that you can use
- 1:03:18up to so much TRT,
- 1:03:20and I am sure there are guys trying
- 1:03:22to ride that line.
- 1:03:23Yeah,
- 1:03:25that's what I feel like is probably
- 1:03:27happening.
- 1:03:27And they're trying to get right under the
- 1:03:29line, and some are miscalculating.
- 1:03:31Because you can inject it,
- 1:03:33and you don't know what it's going to
- 1:03:34read in your body.
- 1:03:37I don't...
- 1:03:38Again, I am not an expert on it.
- 1:03:40I'm just assuming.
- 1:03:43Because, I mean,
- 1:03:45I know people have taken TRT and the
- 1:03:47doctors get a reading to see how effective
- 1:03:51it was, right?
- 1:03:53They don't know that, hey,
- 1:03:54we inject you with this and your
- 1:03:57testosterone is going to be here.
- 1:03:59So I think people are gambling and trying
- 1:04:02to ride the line and some are
- 1:04:03miscalculating that.
- 1:04:10Tessa said,
- 1:04:10I'm just baffled at the lack of character
- 1:04:12if they are doing this.
- 1:04:16I think the problem is,
- 1:04:17especially in the eighth bracket,
- 1:04:19they just tell themselves that they're all
- 1:04:21doing it.
- 1:04:21Like what you're saying, Scott,
- 1:04:23I think they all tell themselves,
- 1:04:24we're all on TRT.
- 1:04:26We're just trying, like, yeah,
- 1:04:29I think that's the problem.
- 1:04:31Like the first,
- 1:04:32like they're telling themselves that
- 1:04:33that's, yes,
- 1:04:34that's the only way that they can compete
- 1:04:36is if they match up to everyone else
- 1:04:38that they're competing against.
- 1:04:39If you watch the Lance Armstrong
- 1:04:41documentary, that's what he told himself.
- 1:04:44He told himself the only way I win
- 1:04:46the tour de France is to do the
- 1:04:48thing that they're doing.
- 1:04:50Right.
- 1:04:52So,
- 1:04:55you've heard someone say that phrase,
- 1:04:57you know, that, you know,
- 1:04:59guys are thinking that.
- 1:05:01Oh, for sure.
- 1:05:01And, and women are thinking that.
- 1:05:03I mean,
- 1:05:04you see it like everyone says everywhere,
- 1:05:07especially about the masters.
- 1:05:08They're like,
- 1:05:08all of those people are on here.
- 1:05:11So the athletes are going to start
- 1:05:13thinking everyone's on here.
- 1:05:16The expert has spoken.
- 1:05:18They run a T slash E ratio test
- 1:05:21and,
- 1:05:22I think that's testosterone to estrogen.
- 1:05:24I'm guessing ratio test.
- 1:05:26If the ratio is off,
- 1:05:27they run a secondary,
- 1:05:28more expensive test to confirm.
- 1:05:36To me, like when I was here,
- 1:05:37people like how often they do like blood
- 1:05:39work.
- 1:05:40Like to me,
- 1:05:40that's always like a red flag.
- 1:05:41I'm like, yeah.
- 1:05:43How about like, you know,
- 1:05:44even like young people,
- 1:05:46like young males that are just testing
- 1:05:48like blood work all the time.
- 1:05:49I'm like, Hmm.
- 1:05:51Do you really need that?
- 1:05:53Why are you doing all this blood test
- 1:05:56of your stuff?
- 1:06:00Mark Phillips, E equals epitestosterone.
- 1:06:04See, that's how little I know.
- 1:06:10I thought it was going to be like
- 1:06:11exhaustion.
- 1:06:16Yeah, that's the word.
- 1:06:19Yeah.
- 1:06:21About the blood work thing,
- 1:06:22like when I was with Wild Health,
- 1:06:24we did blood work all the time for
- 1:06:26health stuff.
- 1:06:27I guess you're taking stuff from them.
- 1:06:30Yeah, it's obvious.
- 1:06:32It's obvious.
- 1:06:32I'm on all the juice.
- 1:06:33Whenever people are like, oh,
- 1:06:34I'm testing my blood work to see if
- 1:06:36I can get range, I'm like, yeah,
- 1:06:37I'm sure you are testing that range.
- 1:06:38Like,
- 1:06:38it's just not something that's in my head.
- 1:06:41That's fair.
- 1:06:42Whether it's true or not, I don't know.
- 1:06:46But people are testing their blood all the
- 1:06:49time.
- 1:06:49I'm like, you have...
- 1:06:51reason to do that um the last thing
- 1:06:58i have is as i've been ranting about
- 1:07:00this all week the missed opportunities for
- 1:07:04crossfit in with if you guys didn't see
- 1:07:08it uh patrick gosh now i can't his
- 1:07:11name is a scheme no oh patrick wilson
- 1:07:16who stars in the show cape fear does
- 1:07:19crossfit
- 1:07:21he actually brought CrossFit into the
- 1:07:24show.
- 1:07:26His character to do a release does
- 1:07:29CrossFit and they showed him doing cleans.
- 1:07:34And he was on an interview talking about
- 1:07:36why he picked cleans because all the
- 1:07:38reshoots and all the stuff and his form
- 1:07:41was impeccable.
- 1:07:43Like,
- 1:07:43which is very rare in celebrity scene,
- 1:07:47right?
- 1:07:47Right.
- 1:07:50He went to DC High Rocks this week.
- 1:07:53CrossFit has done nothing to share the
- 1:07:55interview,
- 1:07:56done nothing to promote that he said this
- 1:07:59stuff.
- 1:08:00None of that stuff.
- 1:08:01Goes to DC High Rocks this weekend.
- 1:08:03And before the weekend is over,
- 1:08:05High Rocks has a compilation reel of his
- 1:08:08workout out to promote that he was there
- 1:08:12doing it.
- 1:08:13We know about the Tom Holland workout that
- 1:08:15used to be called Cindy.
- 1:08:18Or the Spider-Man workout.
- 1:08:24We know that Will Plummer has been
- 1:08:28training Chip Ganassi's racing team with
- 1:08:30CrossFit for a couple years.
- 1:08:36And they're just now doing a story about
- 1:08:39it two years after the fact.
- 1:08:41And then I got sent another thing by
- 1:08:45a prominent...
- 1:08:47affiliate owner and coach in the space of
- 1:08:49a football player talking about how he
- 1:08:50uses CrossFit to stay in shape for the
- 1:08:53long grueling season.
- 1:08:56And it's not Tyson Bajent.
- 1:09:00And none of this has been promoted by
- 1:09:02CrossFit.
- 1:09:02And I know Hiller's saying they reached
- 1:09:04out to Tom Holland.
- 1:09:05I did see that in Dave's Weekend Review,
- 1:09:07that they have made attempts.
- 1:09:10But that is just one case.
- 1:09:12And they couldn't share a clip of a
- 1:09:16public interview that he did and give
- 1:09:19credit to whoever did the interview.
- 1:09:21Doesn't that happen all the time?
- 1:09:24So they like CrossFit Games Instagram
- 1:09:27never reposted that little clip from him
- 1:09:30at the tennis.
- 1:09:32I think it was a tennis conference saying
- 1:09:34that he did Cindy for training.
- 1:09:37Like CrossFit Games didn't even use that
- 1:09:39because like they could have used that and
- 1:09:41then posted some of the athletes like
- 1:09:42doing Cindy over the years.
- 1:09:44It's like, hey,
- 1:09:45if you want to do this workout,
- 1:09:46this is what it is or this background
- 1:09:48of it.
- 1:09:49You could take a compilation of people
- 1:09:50going, hey, I did the Spider-Man workout.
- 1:09:53I did the Spider-Man workout.
- 1:09:54And it comes on and goes,
- 1:09:55we call it Cindy.
- 1:09:58Boom.
- 1:10:00And it was derived from the CrossFit,
- 1:10:02blah, blah, blah, as a girl workout.
- 1:10:06There are ways you could use the stuff
- 1:10:08that's out there without contacting that
- 1:10:10individual.
- 1:10:12It took them a year plus to share
- 1:10:15one of Zlatan's
- 1:10:18I don't know how to pronounce his name.
- 1:10:20Soccer player, like most,
- 1:10:23most followers of anybody in the world in
- 1:10:26soccer.
- 1:10:26And he does CrossFit.
- 1:10:28It took him over a year to share
- 1:10:29one of his posts.
- 1:10:33What the hell is taking so long?
- 1:10:36Why are you not?
- 1:10:37Because you want to reach people outside
- 1:10:40of our algorithm, right?
- 1:10:44And these are people that are like,
- 1:10:50The guy that did the High Rocks,
- 1:10:51Patrick Wilson,
- 1:10:55has eight hundred thousand followers on
- 1:10:56Instagram.
- 1:10:59Those are eight thousand people that
- 1:11:01probably aren't currently doing CrossFit.
- 1:11:05Tom Holland has millions of followers.
- 1:11:10tag him in something maybe you get lucky
- 1:11:12and he contributes patrick wilson did that
- 1:11:15with high rocks they posted it he they
- 1:11:19asked him to collaborate and he did like
- 1:11:22i think right now crossfit should lead
- 1:11:24into the high rocks that's getting really
- 1:11:26popular and be like look at all of
- 1:11:28our athletes doing well in high rocks
- 1:11:31these are how are they training for their
- 1:11:33high rocks crossfit you know like and just
- 1:11:37like using but that like
- 1:11:40I understand it's a great promotion,
- 1:11:42but it doesn't go outside the algorithm of
- 1:11:44fitness.
- 1:11:45Like if you're trying to attract new
- 1:11:47people.
- 1:11:52But I think they need to reach outside
- 1:11:54of the fitness algorithm with these
- 1:11:57celebrities, with these football players,
- 1:11:59with these anybody who's using it to stay
- 1:12:02in shape in their season.
- 1:12:05share a video share and maybe they
- 1:12:08collaborate and maybe you reach eight
- 1:12:10hundred thousand people you never did
- 1:12:12before a lot of like celebrities will have
- 1:12:15their personal trainers train out of
- 1:12:17crossfit gyms like if you look at the
- 1:12:18background you're like that's a crossfit
- 1:12:20gym yeah probably might not have the name
- 1:12:24crossfit because they don't pay the
- 1:12:25affiliation fee but you're like yeah
- 1:12:27there's the rings there's there's the wall
- 1:12:29ball targets behind them um yeah
- 1:12:34Jeremy says, what do you think it is?
- 1:12:35I joke small team,
- 1:12:36but what do you think makes this continue
- 1:12:38to happen?
- 1:12:39I believe that it's micromanagement.
- 1:12:41I believe that the leaders of CrossFit
- 1:12:44want to approve everything.
- 1:12:47So it has to go through eighteen circles
- 1:12:50of approval to be released.
- 1:12:53And everybody wants to have their say as
- 1:12:55to what it should look like.
- 1:12:58Well, then it's not a small enough team,
- 1:13:00in my opinion.
- 1:13:03I mean...
- 1:13:06There's just too many heads of department.
- 1:13:09That's a problem.
- 1:13:10Right.
- 1:13:11It's too many chiefs, not enough Indians.
- 1:13:15Yeah.
- 1:13:16Is the old saying, right?
- 1:13:17A lot of people who want to show
- 1:13:20that they're important enough and have to
- 1:13:22have a say in it and not enough
- 1:13:24people doing the job.
- 1:13:30And I think that is all it.
- 1:13:32I think while Jenna had great ideas,
- 1:13:36she had to get approval from everybody to
- 1:13:38be able to release it.
- 1:13:41Like Tyson Bajent getting up to the podium
- 1:13:44and talking about if he doesn't succeed in
- 1:13:48football,
- 1:13:48he wants to be a CrossFit coach and
- 1:13:50get jacked as hell, right?
- 1:13:52It took CrossFit four months to react to
- 1:13:55that.
- 1:13:57When everybody in the space that does any
- 1:14:00kind of media at all was sharing that
- 1:14:02post,
- 1:14:03even just diehard CrossFitters were like,
- 1:14:05this is cool.
- 1:14:10It's,
- 1:14:11it has got to be the most aggravating
- 1:14:13thing to me right now because there are
- 1:14:15so many people sharing that they're using
- 1:14:17CrossFit and we're not telling a soul.
- 1:14:24And the thing about Patrick Wilson is
- 1:14:26watch the high rocks video.
- 1:14:28His wall ball depth is, is awesome.
- 1:14:31Like he actually has great technique.
- 1:14:36He is meeting all the standards.
- 1:14:40Tom Holland doing twenty seven rounds of
- 1:14:41Sydney.
- 1:14:43Not sure about that.
- 1:14:44Love to see that.
- 1:14:45Yeah.
- 1:14:49But he regardless, he's using it.
- 1:14:55I'm just,
- 1:14:56this is like my new cross to bear
- 1:14:59in the CrossFit space.
- 1:15:01Because they have to do this.
- 1:15:06If they want to succeed at all,
- 1:15:08they have to.
- 1:15:09And if they don't,
- 1:15:10then they don't ever want to be more
- 1:15:12than what they are.
- 1:15:17Yeah.
- 1:15:18What are they currently working on in
- 1:15:19terms of story?
- 1:15:20Wasn't there like one or two stories that
- 1:15:22they're like,
- 1:15:24it's gonna come or something you know like
- 1:15:25in a YouTube video they like posted like
- 1:15:28little maybe Todd Weiss like one or two
- 1:15:34stories but it just takes them so long
- 1:15:36to like post the story like they're like
- 1:15:39oh stay tuned for like more of the
- 1:15:42video and I think that they just need
- 1:15:45to just release it
- 1:15:51It doesn't take a full production team to
- 1:15:53make a story.
- 1:15:59I find that reels that we post from
- 1:16:02competitions and stuff like that,
- 1:16:04the less manipulated and the less
- 1:16:07additions you make to it and the less
- 1:16:09editing, the better they do.
- 1:16:11Because people know it's real.
- 1:16:13With this world of AI,
- 1:16:14the more glitzy and glossy and everything
- 1:16:17it looks,
- 1:16:18the more people speculate that it's not
- 1:16:20real.
- 1:16:23So the fact that you have to have
- 1:16:25a full production team out to do any
- 1:16:27kind of story.
- 1:16:29And like we said,
- 1:16:30at the top of the show,
- 1:16:32everything is reactive.
- 1:16:34Everything is so after the fact that its
- 1:16:38impact is lost.
- 1:16:39They put out that Tyson documentary,
