Transcript
- 0:07Speaker 1: Hello everybody, and welcome to a special trade deadline edition
- 0:10Speaker 1: of Cardinal Territory Late night edition. Jim Hayes along with Lanceline.
- 0:15Speaker 1: How you doing Lance? The Cardinals very busy today as
- 0:19Speaker 1: we expected. Let me first run down what they did.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Dustin May and Jojo Romero dealt to Milwaukee. In return,
- 0:28Speaker 1: the Cards get Class A outfielder Alexander Frisk and Double
- 0:32Speaker 1: A outfielder Josiah Ragsdale, free US is eighteen, number eleven
- 0:38Speaker 1: type prospect, hit four forty one at the Arizona League
- 0:43Speaker 1: Complex before going to a ball and kind of settling
- 0:48Speaker 1: there in their line drives, they say, and hard contact.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Ragsdale is twenty two drafted out of Boston College between
- 0:56Speaker 1: Double A and Single A. This season a one point
- 0:59Speaker 1: zero two to two ops nineteen Homers were told walks
- 1:04Speaker 1: a lot has emerging power and plenty of speed. And
- 1:09Speaker 1: then of course Lars Newbarter goes to the Diamondbacks where
- 1:12Speaker 1: you can reunite with Nolan Arenado. In return, the Cards
- 1:16Speaker 1: get pitcher Danielle Egan, number five prospect who supposedly has
- 1:21Speaker 1: really good stuff and strikes a lot of guys out,
- 1:24Speaker 1: lots of swing and mists we're told, and Sando Santana,
- 1:29Speaker 1: who was their twenty eighth prospects. So the Cardinals go
- 1:32Speaker 1: for the future kind of what we expected. The only
- 1:36Speaker 1: thing I think is surprising is the Cardinals deal with
- 1:40Speaker 1: Milwaukee in Division. But I guess if you're just renting
- 1:45Speaker 1: guys to Milwaukee, it's okay, right, Is that how you
- 1:49Speaker 1: see it?
- 1:50Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:51Speaker 3: I mean it's just like if you have a bad neighbor,
- 1:52Speaker 3: you want to be short term rentals. So I think
- 1:55Speaker 3: that since it's into division and it's just a most
- 1:59Speaker 3: of those guys are gonna be rent people. It doesn't
- 2:02Speaker 3: hurt your feelings too bad. And if you can snake
- 2:04Speaker 3: some good prospects away from while you're doing it, it just
- 2:07Speaker 3: helps you. So I think they did a good job
- 2:09Speaker 3: over overall. If you start looking at the prospects of
- 2:13Speaker 3: what they've got back and you now, it's going to
- 2:15Speaker 3: see who's going to develop into what, And you know,
- 2:17Speaker 3: obviously they picked these guys for a reason. You know,
- 2:22Speaker 3: you like you mentioned some of the things with what
- 2:25Speaker 3: the stuff they have, whether it's just you know, high
- 2:27Speaker 3: strikeouts or you know, for the outfielder's hard contact line
- 2:32Speaker 3: drives that can grow as the kid gets older and
- 2:35Speaker 3: those those start coming into uh, you know, home runs
- 2:39Speaker 3: and things of that nature. With hard contact. We just
- 2:42Speaker 3: change his launching a little bit, and you hope that
- 2:44Speaker 3: he turns into a big power guy. And then the
- 2:46Speaker 3: Ragsdale fella is intriguing to me. I think he probably
- 2:49Speaker 3: has the least grade of of the you know, of
- 2:53Speaker 3: everybody they've got, but he's already a twenty home run
- 2:57Speaker 3: outfielder with some speed. So I'm anxious to see what
- 3:00Speaker 3: you know that turns into, especially a college kid that's
- 3:02Speaker 3: learning learning to drive the ball. He's got twenty home
- 3:05Speaker 3: runs and he doesn't strike out and walk. So I
- 3:08Speaker 3: like the sounds of everything they got. Now let's see
- 3:10Speaker 3: how it translates when they come over the cardinal system
- 3:13Speaker 3: and what their plans are to make them even better.
- 3:16Speaker 1: So if you're hind Bloom and you're rebuilding, this is
- 3:18Speaker 1: a rebuilding year. Even though they were nine games over
- 3:21Speaker 1: a five hundred, baseball always tends to even out. As
- 3:25Speaker 1: Lancelin told me, boy, it's a couple of months ago.
- 3:30Speaker 1: But if you're the Brewers now, so you have a
- 3:33Speaker 1: pretty good rotation, right, but you've been there before where
- 3:36Speaker 1: the rotation isn't healthy. May will help them certainly Jojo,
- 3:41Speaker 1: who's dealing with an appendix issue right now, will help
- 3:44Speaker 1: their bullpen. Just your thoughts if you're Milwaukee, what you
- 3:48Speaker 1: think you're getting out of this?
- 3:50Speaker 3: Well, I think you're looking to let's go start with
- 3:53Speaker 3: Jojo for the first one. You're looking at a guy
- 3:55Speaker 3: who you know can get back end outs against righty's alerties.
- 4:00Speaker 3: And when you're in a playoff push and and playoff
- 4:03Speaker 3: series those you gotta have lefties that you're not afraid
- 4:06Speaker 3: to bring in and get a righty out in a
- 4:09Speaker 3: situation too, so they can you know whether it's a
- 4:12Speaker 3: pinch hit or whatnot. You know, with with the three
- 4:14Speaker 3: batter rule, So Jojo fits that script for anybody and
- 4:19Speaker 3: you can pitch anywhere from the seventh through the ninth
- 4:20Speaker 3: and you don't have to worry about it being too
- 4:22Speaker 3: big of a situation and you don't have to worry
- 4:24Speaker 3: about if it's a right or left in the box.
- 4:26Speaker 3: So that's huge or any team. And then May I
- 4:28Speaker 3: think you're looking at is you know he's going off
- 4:32Speaker 3: of a year that's had some ups and downs, started
- 4:34Speaker 3: off rough for him. Then he's able to write it uh,
- 4:36Speaker 3: you know, had had a couple of hiccups here and there.
- 4:39Speaker 3: But a guy who's been in the playoffs early in
- 4:41Speaker 3: his career, he's trying to make a name for himself
- 4:44Speaker 3: as he gets a little older here. He wants to
- 4:46Speaker 3: stay healthy, he wants to pitch the whole season, innings wise,
- 4:49Speaker 3: and all that. With what you have coming back in
- 4:51Speaker 3: Milwaukee and what you have already there, he can fit
- 4:54Speaker 3: in and you don't have to push him too hard.
- 4:56Speaker 3: And then I think the main thing is for them
- 4:58Speaker 3: is to have him ready for, you know, a play
- 5:00Speaker 3: off series and go from there. And we've seen him
- 5:02Speaker 3: in a playoff series when he was young, come out
- 5:04Speaker 3: of the bullpen with this stuff too, So he's a
- 5:06Speaker 3: guy that can help him in multiple different ways and
- 5:09Speaker 3: during the playoffs too, not just in starting. So they're
- 5:12Speaker 3: both good pickups for a playoff team because they can
- 5:15Speaker 3: do things in multiple different ways that you can trust
- 5:18Speaker 3: them to get outs in situations.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Now, the first couple of deals with Milwaukee took me
- 5:26Speaker 1: by surprise because the Cardinals got outfields outfielders, right, they're
- 5:32Speaker 1: building up their outfield death so you figure, all right,
- 5:34Speaker 1: but somewhere they already have a couple of outfielders that
- 5:37Speaker 1: are in the pipeline, like Baiaz, I think is ready
- 5:40Speaker 1: to go. They'll take a look at him. But I
- 5:43Speaker 1: was surprised that it was outfields not catchers. I thought
- 5:47Speaker 1: at some point, just to thin the herd a little
- 5:50Speaker 1: and give guys a runway, I thought we'd see a
- 5:53Speaker 1: catcher in the mix. In terms of what the Cardinals
- 5:57Speaker 1: gave up.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, you know, it's truth of the matter
- 6:02Speaker 3: is when they're in the minor leagues, it doesn't matter
- 6:06Speaker 3: right what position they play. I mean, if these guys
- 6:08Speaker 3: can if these guys can play all all three outfield
- 6:11Speaker 3: positions and hit a little bit, you know, there's four
- 6:14Speaker 3: there's four spots in a lineup for them, including the
- 6:17Speaker 3: DH spot in the lineups. So you know, there's always
- 6:20Speaker 3: places to play, and you can always find places for
- 6:22Speaker 3: guys to play. And they'll weave themselves out the further
- 6:25Speaker 3: they get up up the pipeline and the further they
- 6:28Speaker 3: get in certain places. But like you said, you collect
- 6:31Speaker 3: as much talent as you possibly can because when you
- 6:34Speaker 3: is time to go for it, that's when you use
- 6:36Speaker 3: those guys to go get the trades and the pieces
- 6:39Speaker 3: that you want people like fast outfielders that hit home runs,
- 6:42Speaker 3: and they like catchers that can hit, and the Cardinals
- 6:45Speaker 3: have both of those when it comes time for them
- 6:47Speaker 3: to get their final piece. So they are creating a
- 6:51Speaker 3: farm system that is going to have speed, power and
- 6:55Speaker 3: positions that people really like to have speed and power,
- 6:58Speaker 3: and they're going to be to use their depth when
- 7:02Speaker 3: it's time to go get that ace or go get
- 7:05Speaker 3: the cost controlled frontal line starter by packaging a good
- 7:10Speaker 3: bunch of prospects to go get them when you have
- 7:12Speaker 3: all the depth and you have youth, because most of
- 7:15Speaker 3: everybody they have they're all the same aide, they're all
- 7:16Speaker 3: what twenty two, eighteen to twenty two that they've gotten
- 7:20Speaker 3: in the last you know, barrage of trades over the
- 7:22Speaker 3: last year and a half. So they're all going to
- 7:24Speaker 3: be up at the same time. And then it's like, Okay,
- 7:27Speaker 3: here's my core, here's who I'm running with, and here's
- 7:30Speaker 3: who I'm going to use as trade to get the
- 7:32Speaker 3: things I need to put my final touches on a
- 7:34Speaker 3: playoff World Series caliber team.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Oh question, Hi, I'm the stockpiling young talent, one of
- 7:42Speaker 1: the fan favorites. I know you love this guy. I
- 7:44Speaker 1: love the guy he goes to Arizona. We'll talk about
- 7:47Speaker 1: Lars Newblar after we take this short time out. You're
- 7:50Speaker 1: watching Cardinal Territory on the Foul Territory Network.

- 8:54Speaker 1: So the Cardinals trade large new part to Arizona for
- 8:59Speaker 1: a couple of young pitching prospects, which the uncontrollable arms
- 9:04Speaker 1: big currency in baseball. I get that. What do you
- 9:06Speaker 1: think Arizona's getting in Lars Newbar I'll tell you this.
- 9:10Speaker 1: He had the double heel surgery. His numbers aren't great,
- 9:14Speaker 1: but he was off for a long while. I think
- 9:16Speaker 1: he looks better now than he has in a couple
- 9:19Speaker 1: of years. What do you think Laris can do for
- 9:22Speaker 1: the d Becks? Well, like I said with he can
- 9:25Speaker 1: play all Like he said, he play all three outfield positions.
- 9:27Speaker 1: He takes his walks. He plays a winning type of
- 9:31Speaker 1: baseball where he'll do what's necessary when he's in the
- 9:35Speaker 1: box of you know, getting the guy over and things
- 9:37Speaker 1: of that nature, things that aren't on stat sheets that
- 9:40Speaker 1: people don't pay attention to. But when you can have
- 9:42Speaker 1: a left handed hitting outfielder that can play all three
- 9:45Speaker 1: outfield positions and walks at the clip he does, and
- 9:47Speaker 1: he's at any time can leave the ballpark, and I
- 9:50Speaker 1: think he might get down in Arizona and we might
- 9:52Speaker 1: see him hit a few more home runs than some
- 9:54Speaker 1: of those balls that might be track balls in Saint
- 9:57Speaker 1: Louis or Homer's especially in the in the NL West
- 10:01Speaker 1: out there in certain ballparks. So I think it's a
- 10:04Speaker 1: good fit for him. I think he's on a team
- 10:06Speaker 1: that uh, you know, could really use what he he
- 10:09Speaker 1: does well. They they like to do that too, So
- 10:12Speaker 1: he can go there and it should be a comfortable fit.
- 10:14Speaker 1: And he's got his old his old buddy, his old keeper,
- 10:17Speaker 1: uh not a to make sure that he has a
- 10:19Speaker 1: you know, a nice, nice easy transition into a new
- 10:22Speaker 1: new ball club. So allo, I think it's a good
- 10:25Speaker 1: fit for both sides. And I'm sure he's going to
- 10:27Speaker 1: be happy to uh you know, go uh go be
- 10:30Speaker 1: back with Nato. And I think he's a great clubhouse guy, right,
- 10:35Speaker 1: I mean, everybody loves Newt. There's an element of leadership
- 10:39Speaker 1: in there. I think, based on his international experience, there's
- 10:42Speaker 1: an element of maturity in there. I think the Cardinals
- 10:44Speaker 1: are going to miss that in their clubhouse.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Oh, I think you're you're missing I mean you look
- 10:50Speaker 3: at with what they trade away, you're missing Jojo has
- 10:53Speaker 3: been well loved in that bullpen obviously since I played
- 10:57Speaker 3: with him, but even before that, people love him down there.
- 11:01Speaker 3: People loved may as you can tell by all the
- 11:04Speaker 3: hugs and everybody was giving him on his last start
- 11:07Speaker 3: knowing that he was probably gone. And I know everybody
- 11:10Speaker 3: loved new So they're missing three guys that were that
- 11:13Speaker 3: were well liked. They brought a they brought a good
- 11:16Speaker 3: sense of, you know, different personality to a ball club
- 11:20Speaker 3: that you need throughout you know, one sixty two. So
- 11:23Speaker 3: you know, it's just gonna be the next guy to
- 11:26Speaker 3: kind of take that role on the team. And I'm
- 11:28Speaker 3: sure you know, guys like Libby and and Polonte are
- 11:33Speaker 3: ready for it, and Greevy's got to mc Greevy's gotta
- 11:35Speaker 3: be ready for that too. And then on the other side,
- 11:37Speaker 3: that's gonna just gonna be more for for Mason and
- 11:40Speaker 3: Herrera and and JJ to kind of be ready to
- 11:43Speaker 3: weather that that storm of what Lars brought to the
- 11:47Speaker 3: ball club every day.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And Newt was apparently going out for bp UH at
- 11:53Speaker 1: Yankee Stadium. Ollie went to get him, brought him back
- 11:57Speaker 1: in and then it was hug watch all over the place.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Have you ever been in that situation we were that
- 12:03Speaker 1: close to game time or doing some we have found out,
- 12:06Speaker 1: or have you been part of that where you've seen
- 12:08Speaker 1: a teammate go at the last second?
- 12:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I went in Minnesota. I went right
- 12:14Speaker 3: before game time and then, uh, you know, so everybody
- 12:17Speaker 3: was everybody was going out to get ready for the
- 12:19Speaker 3: game and I'm in there packing my locker in the
- 12:22Speaker 3: first inning of the game. Uh so that's a that
- 12:24Speaker 3: was a weird one. And then well that was when
- 12:26Speaker 3: I went to New York. So I also had to
- 12:28Speaker 3: go get a go get a good old fashioned shave
- 12:32Speaker 3: of my face. So I went and did that and
- 12:35Speaker 3: gave everybody a funny laugh. Before I left, I peeked
- 12:38Speaker 3: in the dugout with a straight, straight shave, and they
- 12:41Speaker 3: were like, oh my god, you look terrible. I was like, this,
- 12:44Speaker 3: wanted to give you one more, one more look at
- 12:45Speaker 3: this before I started goodbye. So yeah, you ei there.
- 12:49Speaker 3: You just never know that, you know, sometimes reading breakfast
- 12:51Speaker 3: with the guy, sometimes reading you know you're taking VP.
- 12:55Speaker 3: You know you can go at any time. You know,
- 12:57Speaker 3: you just never you never know. I've seen guys. You know, hey,
- 13:00Speaker 3: is so and so in here when somebody might have
- 13:02Speaker 3: been on a shitter and yeah, yeah he is all right,
- 13:05Speaker 3: Come see me when you're done. You know, you just
- 13:07Speaker 3: never know baseball. It's a while. You know, it's a
- 13:10Speaker 3: shitty situation sometimes, Jim, and I'll not tell you.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's business. I get it put to our guys.
- 13:16Speaker 1: You said I was sad when you went. We had
- 13:18Speaker 1: a nice hug. You know, there's been a lot of guys.
- 13:21Speaker 1: You're just sad to see go. I'm curious to get
- 13:24Speaker 1: to this. The Dodgers get the big ticket item the
- 13:28Speaker 1: Good School. Is that good for baseball? Or are they
- 13:31Speaker 1: destroying baseball? Lance Linn will weigh in on that. After
- 13:35Speaker 1: this time out. You're watching Cardinal Territory on the Foul

- 14:40Speaker 4: in the business of insurance.
- 14:43Speaker 1: So everyone pretty much hates the Dodgers now because if
- 14:45Speaker 1: they got the biggest payroll, they got the best team,
- 14:48Speaker 1: they go on and get the best guys. So you
- 14:50Speaker 1: got a TV contract that they don't have to share
- 14:53Speaker 1: because of some odd divorce tax thing. It's the Dodgers league.
- 14:58Speaker 1: There's no question they go get Schooble. Everyone's ticked off.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Everyone's saying it's the end of baseball as we know it,
- 15:06Speaker 1: And all I can think about is I can't wait
- 15:09Speaker 1: to see what lance Lynn has to say about it,
- 15:11Speaker 1: So please lance the Flora's yours.
- 15:15Speaker 3: It's I mean, for me, it's like my childhood. It
- 15:17Speaker 3: was everyone hated the Yankees because they did the same
- 15:19Speaker 3: thing right, and then now are the Yankees one of
- 15:22Speaker 3: the teams that are bitching because they can't they can't
- 15:26Speaker 3: play with the big boy of the Dodgers. So the
- 15:28Speaker 3: way I see it is there's twenty nine billionaires bitching
- 15:30Speaker 3: about another billionaire doing it better than they can do it.
- 15:33Speaker 3: So that's where we're at right now. So it's like, hey,
- 15:36Speaker 3: he's hurt our feelings because he's done this, this and this.
- 15:40Speaker 3: We need to make new rules and we need to
- 15:42Speaker 3: have this because it's not fair. Every team had the
- 15:45Speaker 3: ability to give up four or five names that people
- 15:49Speaker 3: have never heard of for Schoogle. They didn't, Dodgers did.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Every team had the ability to sign show Hey, and
- 15:56Speaker 3: only three teams were offered him more than whatever. The
- 16:01Speaker 3: Dodgers are just ahead of everyone, and everyone's upset about it.
- 16:04Speaker 3: And that's what it is. But here's what people don't realize.
- 16:07Speaker 3: It's like, Okay, they do all the spinning, all it
- 16:09Speaker 3: do Dodgers have the best minor league system. Why do that?
- 16:12Speaker 3: Because they develop better than everyone. So we're going to
- 16:14Speaker 3: tell them that they're not allowed to develop players because
- 16:16Speaker 3: they're too good at that too. So the gist of
- 16:19Speaker 3: everything is everybody's mad because they've done everything perfect and
- 16:24Speaker 3: everything that other teams have tried to do has been failured.
- 16:28Speaker 3: And then they're reaping the benefits of running a business
- 16:31Speaker 3: the way it needs to be ran, and they're running
- 16:33Speaker 3: it to try to win. They're not running it try
- 16:36Speaker 3: to make money. They're running it to win championships. Not
- 16:39Speaker 3: every owner does that either, so they don't like that either.
- 16:41Speaker 3: So are they ruining baseball for twenty nine fan bases
- 16:46Speaker 3: and ownerships? Yes, they're ruining baseball because they're better than
- 16:49Speaker 3: them at everything and they don't like it. But no,
- 16:52Speaker 3: because you play this game to win, and you play
- 16:55Speaker 3: this game to put the best product on the field,
- 16:57Speaker 3: and that's what the Dodgers do. So I think everyone
- 16:59Speaker 3: will all the other teams should take a page out
- 17:01Speaker 3: of there book and try to win ball games instead
- 17:03Speaker 3: of bitch about other teams doing things better than them.
- 17:07Speaker 1: All Right, So the Dodgers, as I'm understanding it, Oh,
- 17:11Speaker 1: a billion dollars in deferred money. Billion dollars in deferred money.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I don't know that every I don't know every team.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Every team is allowed to defer money, but nobody will
- 17:20Speaker 3: do it billion dollar everyone's allowed to do it, I mean,
- 17:25Speaker 3: and it's like, hey, don't tell me that there's no
- 17:27Speaker 3: money in this game when every organization is worth over
- 17:30Speaker 3: a billion dollars. So it's just that's just the way
- 17:33Speaker 3: it is. Every team can every team can take on debt, right,
- 17:38Speaker 3: every team can take on debt. They're just willing to.
- 17:40Speaker 3: They're just willing to take that debt on to win championships.
- 17:43Speaker 3: And I like it debt to win a championship.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Yeah, but a billion dollars debt maybe for you, I
- 17:51Speaker 1: think that might be over.
- 17:52Speaker 3: As too much, too much, But I'm a billion Yeah,
- 17:57Speaker 3: they can sell for ten right now. They don't care.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I'm just trying to give the other side of the argument. Okay,
- 18:03Speaker 1: you brought up the Yankees. Okay, the Yankees have the
- 18:05Speaker 1: same kind of money that they can sign a huge
- 18:08Speaker 1: guy and the guy can suck and it's not going
- 18:11Speaker 1: to bother them. The smaller market teams can't do that
- 18:14Speaker 1: because if they sign a big ticket guy who's terrible,
- 18:17Speaker 1: it's going to cripple them for years to come. They
- 18:20Speaker 1: have to be much more careful. So teams like that
- 18:23Speaker 1: don't have the money to throw around like the Dodgers.
- 18:27Speaker 1: So the Yankees, you know, or one of the big
- 18:29Speaker 1: one of the big spending teams. So give me the
- 18:32Speaker 1: counter argument to that, because I think that there's something
- 18:35Speaker 1: to look at with that to try to say, let's
- 18:38Speaker 1: see if we can let's not penalize the Dodgers for
- 18:41Speaker 1: being brave and throwing their money out there, but there's
- 18:45Speaker 1: got to be a way to make it a little
- 18:46Speaker 1: fairer for the for the little guys.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Well, it's like, okay, the little guys are supposed to
- 18:51Speaker 3: draft and develop, right, that's how they're going to compete.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Dodgers are better than them at that, So like what
- 18:56Speaker 3: are we going to do? Like you know what I'm saying,
- 18:58Speaker 3: It's just like, hey, we need to let them. We
- 19:00Speaker 3: just need to let them go play in their other
- 19:02Speaker 3: their own league. Is that what we're going to do?
- 19:04Speaker 3: Where it's like, hey, you can't have the best prospects,
- 19:06Speaker 3: you can't have the top rated farm system. You got
- 19:08Speaker 3: to give You got to give four of your top
- 19:11Speaker 3: thirty prospects too, and you got to spread them out
- 19:13Speaker 3: between these low market teams just so they get a chance.
- 19:16Speaker 3: It's like, no draft and development put money into what
- 19:19Speaker 3: you're trying to do. The Dodgers put more money than
- 19:23Speaker 3: anyone in to their farm systems and player development because
- 19:28Speaker 3: they know that's what's supposed to win. And other teams
- 19:31Speaker 3: and organizations have these opportunities and they haven't done it.
- 19:34Speaker 3: They've cut back in those areas after COVID and teams
- 19:38Speaker 3: that didn't cut back the Dodgers, they went all in
- 19:41Speaker 3: on a lot of different things and you and they're
- 19:43Speaker 3: reaping the rewards for the things that they were ready
- 19:46Speaker 3: to get or be prepared for. So yeah, I get it,
- 19:49Speaker 3: we don't want to do this, and that they're they're
- 19:51Speaker 3: getting their penalties, they're they're getting their taxes and all that.
- 19:54Speaker 3: It's like, Okay, we can do all these things we
- 19:56Speaker 3: want to do with whatever they're offering. Where where they
- 19:59Speaker 3: want to they want a well, they want a cap system,
- 20:01Speaker 3: but they don't want to give up anything for it
- 20:04Speaker 3: uh to the players. But all these guys are in
- 20:06Speaker 3: their contract for ten more years, so they're gonna be
- 20:09Speaker 3: grandfathered in. So you're just gonna be bitching about it
- 20:12Speaker 3: because they're still winning when they're on their old When
- 20:14Speaker 3: they're on their old contract under the old CBA, you
- 20:16Speaker 3: can't make them give up their team. So it's just
- 20:19Speaker 3: you just got to deal with it. You don't like it,
- 20:22Speaker 3: played better, you don't like it, but I don't know
- 20:24Speaker 3: what is right.
- 20:25Speaker 1: No, that's Lance lnn tell me, Hey, we got a
- 20:29Speaker 1: new CBA.
- 20:30Speaker 3: We got a new CBA. You can't have show Hay anymore.
- 20:32Speaker 3: It costs too much. You're over the you're over the thing.
- 20:35Speaker 3: It's like, no, that contract's grandfathered in. Sorry about it.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I think they're trying to figure it out going forward.
- 20:42Speaker 1: It is what it is now. And like I said,
- 20:44Speaker 1: I understand a lot of your points. Don't hate the
- 20:47Speaker 1: guys that figured out the game and how to win it. Lance,
- 20:50Speaker 1: I appreciate this late night edition of Cardinal Territory. You, sir,
- 20:55Speaker 1: or a constant delight. That's gonna do it for this
- 20:58Speaker 1: edition of Cardinal Tarror Tory we'll see you for the
- 21:01Speaker 1: next episode. Hopefully that one won't suck.
