- 0:14Speaker 2: This is the best of Stu Gotson Company Live on
- 0:17Speaker 2: Fox Sports Radio.
- 0:20Speaker 3: It's Stu Gotson Company Live, or as I like to
- 0:23Speaker 3: call it, it's real good Tierra's with Stugatts. It's a
- 0:26Speaker 3: real good Tierra's show with Stu Gotts because he's in Chicago.
- 0:30Speaker 3: I'm here in studio in beautiful Pembroke Pines, Florida. We
- 0:33Speaker 3: got Mikey in Connecticut somewhere, and Taylor Vippolis not with
- 0:38Speaker 3: us because on a day that we could have used
- 0:41Speaker 3: him at the New York Knicks ticker Tape Parade, which
- 0:44Speaker 3: I want to ask you about, Stoo, he decided to
- 0:46Speaker 3: take the day off.
- 0:47Speaker 4: So no Taylor today.
- 0:48Speaker 3: The ticker tape thing, is that specifically a New York
- 0:51Speaker 3: part of the parade, because if it is, it is
- 0:54Speaker 3: very I like that uniqueness to them, because I hadn't
- 0:57Speaker 3: thought about that until just now that that is the
- 1:00Speaker 3: only place where I've seen a parade happening whether it's
- 1:02Speaker 3: actually raining ticker tape from the top of the buildings.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I'm not one hundred percent certain. I don't have an
- 1:08Speaker 1: answer for you. Perhaps Mikey does or someone else could
- 1:11Speaker 1: look that up. But on a day that we needed tailor,
- 1:13Speaker 1: Taylor wanted nothing to do with us, And so that
- 1:17Speaker 1: is the Uh, that's the problem. I have no idea
- 1:19Speaker 1: if ticker tape parade is reserved for just New York.
- 1:22Speaker 5: I have a feeling the answer is no on that.
- 1:24Speaker 3: So you're saying I shouldn't just blindly come up with
- 1:26Speaker 3: questions for you at the top of the show that
- 1:27Speaker 3: I don't know if you have the answer to you right?
- 1:29Speaker 1: Well, no, I think you should continue to be you
- 1:31Speaker 1: because that's who you are.
- 1:33Speaker 5: You just like to ask questions, you do you're probate.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Well, I heard somebody say in my ear, I have
- 1:37Speaker 3: the answer. I believe I know who that was.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Was that you, Sam, No, not actually me, Ricardo? Now
- 1:42Speaker 4: there was Ricardo. Hey, Ricardo, what's the answer?
- 1:44Speaker 6: You have no idea that it was a Wardo. Wait,
- 1:49Speaker 6: you know the people working with us so well, that
- 1:52Speaker 6: Ricardo was in your ear and you said with confidence,
- 1:55Speaker 6: I know who that is, and it turns out to
- 1:57Speaker 6: be the furthest thing from Bordot.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Ricardo, Well, it was.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Enrique is such a professional that he did not He's
- 2:03Speaker 3: sort of whispered in my ear and so it made
- 2:06Speaker 3: it sound like Sam. But I'm sorry, Ricardo, who what
- 2:09Speaker 3: is the answer to the ticker tape question?
- 2:10Speaker 7: So, no, they're not exclusive to New York City, but
- 2:13Speaker 7: they did originate there. Okay, So in Ferris Bueler's day off,
- 2:17Speaker 7: they have a ticker tape parade. So they in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston,
- 2:21Speaker 7: they've done it as well.
- 2:22Speaker 3: All right, Well, with all this stuff going on, you've
- 2:24Speaker 3: got the parade, you've got the US Open and golf
- 2:27Speaker 3: going on, You've got some NBA chatter. A little later
- 2:30Speaker 3: in the show, we're going to talk to Tony Hawk
- 2:32Speaker 3: and Mike Golick Senior, And with all that in mind,
- 2:36Speaker 3: we are going to get some real soccer talk from
- 2:39Speaker 3: Stutgatts today, real soccer talk from Stut Gotts.
- 2:41Speaker 4: But first we got to hear from Stugatts on this
- 2:44Speaker 4: Fox one.
- 2:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm glad you brought it up, as he I
- 2:47Speaker 5: could have done it that way.
- 2:48Speaker 1: The excitement of the FIFA World Cup is now streaming
- 2:50Speaker 1: live on Fox one, the official English streaming platform, to
- 2:53Speaker 1: catch every unforgettable moment. Fox won brings the action straight
- 2:56Speaker 1: to your screen, so you never missed a goal. Download
- 2:59Speaker 1: Fox Swading experience the FIFA World Cup live and no
- 3:03Speaker 1: one loves it more than I do. And speaking of
- 3:05Speaker 1: the World Cup, don't miss Team USA's second game of
- 3:09Speaker 1: the group stage this Friday, three pm Eastern noon Pacific
- 3:13Speaker 1: on Fox It's USA versus Australia live from Seattle.
- 3:18Speaker 3: All right, Stu, has the World Cup done enough to
- 3:22Speaker 3: grab your attention? Because there's been a lot so far,
- 3:24Speaker 3: not only to all these countries, of fans of countries
- 3:27Speaker 3: coming to our wonderful cities and you know, putting on
- 3:31Speaker 3: a show. But you've got the stars being stars. You've
- 3:33Speaker 3: got Early Holland scoring a couple of goals, you got
- 3:35Speaker 3: Messy scoring a hat trick. You've got Harry Kine with
- 3:39Speaker 3: a couple of goals in England starring. Is there anything
- 3:41Speaker 3: that's grabbing your attention so far?
- 3:43Speaker 5: It helps that the United States won their first game.
- 3:46Speaker 5: That helps.
- 3:46Speaker 1: That helps that we have a big game against Australia tomorrow.
- 3:50Speaker 1: My objection to soccer and the World Cup is a
- 3:54Speaker 1: the US men team. They never do anything, and it
- 3:56Speaker 1: appears maybe they're going to do something this year, so
- 3:58Speaker 1: that helps. The other objection I have is there's never
- 4:00Speaker 1: goals scored, and so in this particular World Cup. Now,
- 4:05Speaker 1: I will be honest with you, is he betting on
- 4:07Speaker 1: the World Cup? Certainly helps? And I've been doing that blindly.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I have no information. I just look at a game
- 4:11Speaker 1: and I go with my gut, and so far four
- 4:13Speaker 1: and one in five include.
- 4:16Speaker 5: The Harry Kane anytime goal yesterday.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I mean, how about that that he netted two? So
- 4:22Speaker 1: I'm getting into soccer. That's how you say it, right,
- 4:24Speaker 1: netting two? So he netted two. It helps that we
- 4:27Speaker 1: have a bunch of goals scored. It helps that the
- 4:30Speaker 1: stars are scoring those goals. And of course the United
- 4:33Speaker 1: States being relevant thus far certainly has piqued my interest.
- 4:37Speaker 8: Yes, can you define doing something for the US men's
- 4:41Speaker 8: national team, because what are your expectations versus what they
- 4:47Speaker 8: might actually do.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I have no expectations for them because I've been hearing
- 4:52Speaker 1: about this soccer boom since nineteen eighty and nothing has happened,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and so I'm zero expectations. All I'm saying is, hey,
- 4:59Speaker 1: enough of the group stage. Get out of the group stage.
- 5:02Speaker 1: If you want to be a world power in soccer,
- 5:04Speaker 1: advance out of the group stage and win a couple
- 5:07Speaker 1: of games, get to a semi final.
- 5:09Speaker 5: Give us something to get excited about.
- 5:11Speaker 8: I will so semifinals, semifinals, and you're like, hey, you
- 5:14Speaker 8: know what I'm all in now, yep, okay.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Yes to me, once you get to the semi finals
- 5:18Speaker 1: at soccer. Everyone knows this about the World Cup. I've
- 5:20Speaker 1: been watching it forever. Once you get there, it's a
- 5:22Speaker 1: crap shoot.
- 5:23Speaker 5: I mean it is. Anyone could win that equalizer.
- 5:27Speaker 3: To me, whatever the US does is kind of a subplot,
- 5:32Speaker 3: almost a bonus to this World Cup because you know,
- 5:35Speaker 3: it's in North America, because you still have some of
- 5:39Speaker 3: the greatest players to ever play the game in Leo
- 5:41Speaker 3: Messi seemingly still in his prime somehow, and you got
- 5:44Speaker 3: Ronaldo not so much in his prime, Christiano Ronaldo, and
- 5:47Speaker 3: you've got all these guys doing it. That to me
- 5:49Speaker 3: so far, because it could have been you know, Argentina
- 5:52Speaker 3: could have won three to nothing, and it could have
- 5:53Speaker 3: been three players.
- 5:54Speaker 5: You never heard of scored the goals.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Instead it's the guy you actually know and he is
- 5:58Speaker 3: the defender or his team is that offending World Cup champions.
- 6:01Speaker 3: So to me, that definitely gives it a little bit
- 6:04Speaker 3: more juice. But then when you add the US playing
- 6:07Speaker 3: well and you having some level of anticipation against the
- 6:10Speaker 3: team in Australia, that does anybody know if Australia is
- 6:13Speaker 3: any good? Do you know if Australia is any good?
- 6:15Speaker 3: I don't know if Australia is any good, but people
- 6:17Speaker 3: say they're supposed to win this game the US and.
- 6:19Speaker 4: So it is.
- 6:20Speaker 3: It does add that level where everybody I know is
- 6:23Speaker 3: watching these games, even my mom, who has no idea
- 6:26Speaker 3: what's happening.
- 6:27Speaker 1: So what I don't like about tomorrow's matchup USA and
- 6:30Speaker 1: Australia is I don't mind losing to Australia. They seem nice.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I've been there. I like that place. I don't mind
- 6:38Speaker 1: losing to them. I want to play like you know,
- 6:40Speaker 1: give me someone where it's gonna hurt if I lose
- 6:43Speaker 1: the game.
- 6:43Speaker 5: You know, Italy, they're not in the world time. You know,
- 6:48Speaker 5: I have Spain.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Give me something or somebody where if the United States
- 6:53Speaker 1: loses the game, it's actually gonna hurt. If they lose
- 6:56Speaker 1: to Australia might tip my cap to the Aussies.
- 6:58Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Well, you actually have some controversy I guess you'd want
- 7:02Speaker 3: to say attached to it too, because our guy, our
- 7:05Speaker 3: big star, Christian Polisic, did not play in the second
- 7:08Speaker 3: half of that first game, and is we don't know
- 7:11Speaker 3: what kind of form he's in. Apparently he's just sort
- 7:13Speaker 3: of working out on his own on the side on
- 7:15Speaker 3: his calf. Took a hit, that's what they're saying. And therefore,
- 7:18Speaker 3: isn't you know, perfect form yet and we'll see if
- 7:21Speaker 3: he's going to be able to play tomorrow. But if
- 7:23Speaker 3: you are the US and you're thinking, hey, we're we're
- 7:26Speaker 3: almost guaranteed a spot past the group stage, especially if
- 7:29Speaker 3: we play anything like we did in that first game,
- 7:32Speaker 3: whether or not we have polistic in this game, would
- 7:34Speaker 3: you consider not playing him in this game? Would you
- 7:37Speaker 3: get that cocky and say, oh, okay, maybe we can.
- 7:40Speaker 3: We can go without him for this game against Australia
- 7:42Speaker 3: and hopefully he gets healthy for the third round, third
- 7:45Speaker 3: game in the round, in the group stage, and we'll
- 7:46Speaker 3: be okay there. Because that's actually something that I've heard
- 7:49Speaker 3: discussed and that seems like it's a possibility because despite
- 7:53Speaker 3: that amazing first game, you have this big question mark
- 7:55Speaker 3: of whether Polisic is going to be available.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Mike yea. You see what he did there. He used
- 7:59Speaker 5: cocky pu Listic in the same sentence.
- 8:01Speaker 4: You see that.
- 8:01Speaker 5: I mean it's amazing.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, as Penis scored the most famous goal in
- 8:05Speaker 1: the history of US soccer, is he That's why I'm
- 8:07Speaker 1: pointing that out, Pulistic, I would listen. I don't know
- 8:11Speaker 1: soccer well enough. Okay, this is what I know. So
- 8:14Speaker 1: I don't know how good Australia is, and I also
- 8:17Speaker 1: don't know who the United States play after Australia. I
- 8:20Speaker 1: know they need to beat Australia to advance out of
- 8:23Speaker 1: the group stage.
- 8:23Speaker 5: I think they do.
- 8:25Speaker 1: And if Pulistic can play, and he's one of their
- 8:27Speaker 1: best players, then you have to play him against Australia
- 8:31Speaker 1: and then rest them until we get to the until
- 8:34Speaker 1: we get out of the group stage.
- 8:35Speaker 5: How about that?
- 8:35Speaker 9: I think I found your villain. The next matchup. Turkey A.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Wow, Turkey A or as you know, it's Stugat's Turkey.
- 8:44Speaker 3: They have changed their name allegedly because they don't want
- 8:48Speaker 3: they want Google to they wanted to show up first
- 8:51Speaker 3: in Google instead of Turkey, which.
- 8:52Speaker 4: Is, you know, an animal. But I have no idea
- 8:54Speaker 4: whether that's true or not.
- 8:56Speaker 5: I do think the.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Part that I love about this is seeing all these
- 9:01Speaker 3: different fans of these countries show up in these random cities.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Stu.
- 9:05Speaker 3: The way the Scots have taken over Boston, according to
- 9:08Speaker 3: the way the Internet has shown is so amazing. It
- 9:12Speaker 3: makes me want to be Scottish. It makes me want
- 9:14Speaker 3: to take up the bagpipes. It makes me want to wear.
- 9:17Speaker 4: A kilt everywhere I go. It just seems like the
- 9:20Speaker 4: like you know, cultural appropriation. Yeah, I want that culture.
- 9:23Speaker 4: I just want to be Scottish.
- 9:24Speaker 5: I just love it.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Yes, Mikey put it on the pole. Does being Scottish
- 9:28Speaker 1: look fun? Because I'm with Izzy on this. I also
- 9:31Speaker 1: just never know what's gonna peak Izzy's curiosities because he
- 9:34Speaker 1: has been texting me NonStop for three days.
- 9:37Speaker 5: I want to move to Scotland.
- 9:38Speaker 4: A man, I don't know if I can get in.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I might have to go to Spain first and then
- 9:42Speaker 3: sneak into Scotland. But man, feels like at the marvelous place,
- 9:46Speaker 3: like and the accents amazing, Like I don't know, it's
- 9:49Speaker 3: just the bagpipes to me make everything more intense, It
- 9:53Speaker 3: makes everything more emotional.
- 9:54Speaker 5: It could be, you know.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Sad emotions, it could be happy emotions. I think bagpipes
- 9:58Speaker 3: are the world's greatest instrument.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Is it fair to say at this point? Is he
- 10:03Speaker 1: probably follow it a lot closer than I do. I
- 10:06Speaker 1: don't know who's the biggest soccer fan amongst us?
- 10:08Speaker 5: Is it Taylor?
- 10:10Speaker 4: I guess Taylor. Yeah, the guy's not here.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Was it fair to say at this point? Ronaldo, who's
- 10:16Speaker 1: a great player, takes himself way too seriously. But he's
- 10:20Speaker 1: a great player. Is it fair to say he's a
- 10:22Speaker 1: bit overrated? He's never won a World Cup? How can
- 10:26Speaker 1: you call yourself one of the all time great soccer players,
- 10:29Speaker 1: be on the Mount rushmore all time of soccer players
- 10:33Speaker 1: and never win the World Cup?
- 10:35Speaker 5: How is that even possible?
- 10:37Speaker 3: Because he does the one thing that you, in particular
- 10:40Speaker 3: Stu Gatz want to see in every single soccer match.
- 10:43Speaker 3: He scores the goals. He's got more goals in his
- 10:46Speaker 3: career than Messi even has. And that's been a sort
- 10:49Speaker 3: of a race their entire career. But he's always been ahead.
- 10:51Speaker 3: And so yeah, that's what it is. He is a
- 10:54Speaker 3: goal scorer. He is a he does it in you know,
- 10:56Speaker 3: majestic ways, and people just love that when you can
- 11:00Speaker 3: get that in soccer, a majestic goal scorer, and that's
- 11:02Speaker 3: what he has been in his whole career. Now, your
- 11:04Speaker 3: other point remained one thousand percent true. He is overrated
- 11:08Speaker 3: when it comes to the team aspect, because that's just
- 11:11Speaker 3: not how you win necessarily, just find one guy and
- 11:13Speaker 3: try to get him to score all the goals for you. So,
- 11:16Speaker 3: I mean, unless it's Arline Hollingen and your Norway. But yeah,
- 11:19Speaker 3: I think it's it's fair to say you could argue
- 11:23Speaker 3: that one of the greatest players of all times, it's
- 11:24Speaker 3: any bit overrated.
- 11:26Speaker 9: So in two thousand and six, his first World Cup,
- 11:30Speaker 9: he had one goal, but Portugal got all the way
- 11:32Speaker 9: to fourth place.
- 11:33Speaker 8: They finished in fourth after that one goal. They reached
- 11:37Speaker 8: the round of sixteen one goal, exited in the group
- 11:40Speaker 8: stage four goals, reached the round of sixteen and quarterfinals
- 11:48Speaker 8: finish one goal.
- 11:50Speaker 5: So they made where he had one goal, right.
- 11:53Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, he kind of kind of hasn't done much.
- 11:55Speaker 5: Yep, he has eight World Cup goals.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Ronaldo does and MESSI has sixteen World Cup goal. Yeah,
- 12:02Speaker 1: he won it, right, mess, he has won the World Cup.
- 12:04Speaker 4: He's coming to just from the most recent one. Yes,
- 12:06Speaker 4: he finally has.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Won that balloon thing. He'sall balloon by carry around.
- 12:12Speaker 4: He won the balloon a few times. You know what
- 12:14Speaker 4: would have been cool?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Stud and this now, this would have sent everybody into
- 12:19Speaker 3: conspiracy theories said that FIFA fixed this somehow with the
- 12:22Speaker 3: US whatever. But there was some Internet chatter about the
- 12:25Speaker 3: possibility of US and England playing each other on the
- 12:30Speaker 3: fourth of July. On the fourth of July, which happens
- 12:33Speaker 3: to be the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of our country.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Okay, yes, yeah, it ended up being wrong.
- 12:38Speaker 3: The earliest that they could actually meet is on the
- 12:40Speaker 3: tenth of July, not July fourth. But Stu Gott's talk
- 12:44Speaker 3: about a missed opportunity, like, I don't care, I don't
- 12:48Speaker 3: care where the conspiracy theories would have come from. You
- 12:51Speaker 3: gotta find a way to have US or potentially US
- 12:54Speaker 3: England on the fourth of July.
- 12:56Speaker 5: Yeah, they couldn't get it done. England another team.
- 12:59Speaker 4: I don't mind.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I'm losing to like it needs to hurt when I
- 13:02Speaker 1: lose to you, and it needs to be like Packers
- 13:04Speaker 1: and Bears.
- 13:05Speaker 5: I mean, who cares if we lose to England? No
- 13:07Speaker 5: one's gonna care.
- 13:08Speaker 3: I like Harry Kate, Yeah, it does seem pleasant, right,
- 13:11Speaker 3: It's hard hard guy to hate.
- 13:13Speaker 4: It looks that sounds like a gentleman. Looks like a gentleman. Yeah.
- 13:16Speaker 4: But I do think that the US.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Team's involvement, it's it's going to make everything a little
- 13:23Speaker 3: bit more interesting A Friday afternoon, Tomorrow is going to
- 13:25Speaker 3: feel a little bit like an NC double a tournament day, right.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I know it's the holiday and all, but it's still
- 13:30Speaker 3: gonna feel like an NC double a tournament day.
- 13:32Speaker 4: And I don't think that would be the case if
- 13:33Speaker 4: they had lost three to one in the opener.
- 13:35Speaker 1: No, you have the USA and Australia, plus you have
- 13:38Speaker 1: the US Open going on, So it's gonna feel like
- 13:40Speaker 1: Tomorrow is a good sports day.
- 13:41Speaker 5: It's a solid sports day. Tailor's coming back. What a day.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
- 13:51Speaker 2: Live Weekday said three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific on
- 13:55Speaker 2: Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
- 14:01Speaker 4: How do we even know that?
- 14:02Speaker 3: My think about it, Thursday wasn't going to be Hey,
- 14:04Speaker 3: Dan Byer, do an updates?
- 14:07Speaker 4: We don't know that.
- 14:08Speaker 5: Sam.
- 14:10Speaker 1: By the way, mchal Bridges, I enjoy it now because
- 14:12Speaker 1: I am telling you as excited as Nick fans are.
- 14:15Speaker 1: The second you start playing poorly, they will want their
- 14:18Speaker 1: five first round picks back.
- 14:22Speaker 5: Stud.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Can I tell you by one US Open thing that
- 14:24Speaker 3: I just want to complain about on golf. I hate
- 14:27Speaker 3: when they just tell us where the course, just what
- 14:29Speaker 3: the name of the course is. I need to know
- 14:30Speaker 3: what city this is because I have no idea where
- 14:33Speaker 3: Shinnecock is. Never well, I really know where Shinnecock is,
- 14:37Speaker 3: But every time it's a tournament in Shinnecock, all I
- 14:39Speaker 3: hear is in lovely Shinnacock.
- 14:41Speaker 5: Where is that?
- 14:42Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Shinnacock is out of Long Island. It's near the Hampton's
- 14:46Speaker 1: or in the Hamptons somewhere. It's one of the most
- 14:48Speaker 1: difficult courses in America?
- 14:50Speaker 5: Is he I played it?
- 14:51Speaker 1: I played it a couple of times, very very tricky,
- 14:54Speaker 1: very hard, the roughest, very very long.
- 14:57Speaker 5: There were weeds. You'll hit it into weeds.
- 15:00Speaker 1: If I play that course cleanly from the tips, I
- 15:02Speaker 1: am telling you I don't think I would break three hundred.
- 15:05Speaker 5: I'm serious.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Okay, Well, we'll see if I ever remember where that is.
- 15:11Speaker 3: But every single time.
- 15:12Speaker 4: I just just mentioned the city.
- 15:14Speaker 3: That's all I'm saying to these announcers that are bragging
- 15:16Speaker 3: about how beautiful the courses, just tell me where it
- 15:18Speaker 3: is every once in a while.
- 15:19Speaker 4: All right? Uh so, Sam, as I was saying.
- 15:21Speaker 5: Stuff, it's in Southampton, New York. I want to know.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I just want to know where I'm looking at, right,
- 15:27Speaker 3: That's it. That's all I'm asking. All right, Sam, is
- 15:29Speaker 3: there anything else that I have forgotten?
- 15:31Speaker 5: Before?
- 15:32Speaker 4: You can play the Think About It Thursday music? No,
- 15:34Speaker 4: I think we're good here. All right, let's hit it.
- 15:39Speaker 2: You know that segment Talk About It Tuesday on Hawkmann,
- 15:42Speaker 2: Crowder and Solero.
- 15:43Speaker 10: This is like that, but bigger, bigger and better better,
- 15:48Speaker 10: And forty eight hours later, this is Think About It Thursday.
- 15:58Speaker 3: I was just really excited about Stu Gatts soccer and
- 16:01Speaker 3: all the analysis. Who are going to get and how
- 16:03Speaker 3: many teams you're not going to be surprised that they
- 16:05Speaker 3: make it to the final eight, And I just forgot
- 16:07Speaker 3: all about Dan Byer, my favorite guy in the show.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Haven't mentioned that you're not gonna let it go.
- 16:12Speaker 5: Just let it go. We love you, don't worry about it.
- 16:14Speaker 5: We make mistakes. It's live right now. It's why I
- 16:16Speaker 5: came back to it. I came back to it to
- 16:17Speaker 5: make mistakes.
- 16:18Speaker 9: I mean, listen today, the show's beating you one nil.
- 16:22Speaker 5: Yes, the show is netted a goal. We're not going
- 16:28Speaker 5: to park the bus.
- 16:29Speaker 4: Like three mil. If we're honest.
- 16:32Speaker 11: At least you didn't age anyone by forty years earlier
- 16:35Speaker 11: this week that.
- 16:38Speaker 3: You had nightmares about that. Dani, Dad, Yes, you have
- 16:42Speaker 3: no idea. I apologize, No, it's not you.
- 16:45Speaker 5: I want to.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Stand byer question before going to think about it Thursday.
- 16:48Speaker 5: If I can, is it Dan?
- 16:50Speaker 1: If I told you to play from the tips, which
- 16:53Speaker 1: is where the PGA Tour players are playing.
- 16:56Speaker 4: The US Open, right, and you.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Had to play clean okay, no second shots, no breakfast balls,
- 17:04Speaker 1: no mulligans, none of it.
- 17:05Speaker 5: What do you think Dan Bayer.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Would shoot on that course if you had to play
- 17:09Speaker 1: it cleanly?
- 17:11Speaker 11: Probably one twenty five, I would say, one twenty Yeah.
- 17:17Speaker 5: What do you shoot on a normal court?
- 17:19Speaker 11: So yeah, so I can shoot in the eighties, I
- 17:20Speaker 11: could shoot in the nineties. So that's about you know,
- 17:22Speaker 11: I went on the golf trip. I had a couple
- 17:23Speaker 11: of rounds of the eighties, a couple of rounds in
- 17:25Speaker 11: the nineties, and like, we're not talking eighty eighty one,
- 17:28Speaker 11: we're talking eighty forty five. So if I were to
- 17:31Speaker 11: play that with these conditions, with that wind blowing fromm yeah,
- 17:36Speaker 11: those two.
- 17:36Speaker 3: You would shoot roughly a one to twenty five from
- 17:39Speaker 3: the tips of Shinnakok.
- 17:41Speaker 11: Yeah, it's about a triple bogie in every hole.
- 17:45Speaker 4: That is not fair to do about it Thursday, But
- 17:46Speaker 4: if you want to think about.
- 17:47Speaker 5: It, they're free the.
- 17:51Speaker 4: Two guys.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Here's my think about it, Thursday. And it's only because
- 17:54Speaker 3: we're not going to be able to think about this
- 17:56Speaker 3: guy for a while, okay, because we're celebrating the Knicks
- 17:58Speaker 3: in their championship blah blah bla. But Victor went Binyama.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Did he take the most sudden turn from everybody's favorite
- 18:08Speaker 3: player to everybody's least liked villain in one series because
- 18:15Speaker 3: he went like when we were.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Talking about him, I mean, man, there was.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Just a lot of hyperbole discussed about him after that
- 18:22Speaker 3: OKAC series, particularly after that first game, but after that
- 18:25Speaker 3: OKAC series, it was here's the future of the league.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Nobody's gonna stop this guy. Look how likable he is,
- 18:31Speaker 3: Look how much he puts his emotions out there and
- 18:33Speaker 3: doesn't have a shame, you know, doesn't feel any shame
- 18:36Speaker 3: about it. And then you go through that Knick series
- 18:39Speaker 3: and not only did he look like he could be
- 18:42Speaker 3: pushed around a little bit, not only did he have
- 18:46Speaker 3: several moments that it leaked back even to the OKC
- 18:49Speaker 3: series where he looked like he was not a dirty player,
- 18:52Speaker 3: but playing dirty, right, And you've got the moments of him,
- 18:57Speaker 3: Oh I'm in your head, You've got all you know,
- 19:00Speaker 3: the him pushing down by the head the king of
- 19:02Speaker 3: New York, Jalen Brunson. And now it feels like, and
- 19:06Speaker 3: correct me if I'm wrong, if you have a different opinion,
- 19:08Speaker 3: but it feels like he's gone from the lovable alien
- 19:11Speaker 3: to the guy that nobody wants to actually see finish
- 19:15Speaker 3: the deal, the guy that everybody is saying that, oh, now,
- 19:18Speaker 3: before he was a lovable foreigner. Now he's that French
- 19:21Speaker 3: guy who's been a jerk to Jalen Brunson, and you know,
- 19:25Speaker 3: plays dirty and frankly, even though we give him all
- 19:28Speaker 3: this credit for being this amazing player. Doesn't even play
- 19:31Speaker 3: in the paint the way you would want a big
- 19:33Speaker 3: man to play, And so it just feels like the
- 19:35Speaker 3: tide has turned on him so suddenly and so severely
- 19:39Speaker 3: that he's just going to be a villain from now on.
- 19:42Speaker 1: So the interesting thing to me is where the tide
- 19:45Speaker 1: kind of turned was against the New York Knicks. Like image,
- 19:49Speaker 1: think about that, the NIXT team that most people are
- 19:52Speaker 1: conditioned to not like. They don't like the city, they
- 19:54Speaker 1: don't like the fan base. We're loud, we're obnoxious. That
- 19:57Speaker 1: somehow this team, because of the expectation, because no one
- 20:00Speaker 1: thought Jalen Brunton was capable of this, because many people
- 20:03Speaker 1: thought Karl Anthony Towns was not capable of this, suddenly
- 20:08Speaker 1: they became a lovable underdog and everyone started rooting for
- 20:11Speaker 1: them and rooting against Wemby. I think the league, the
- 20:15Speaker 1: fans of the NBA, they respect Wenby.
- 20:17Speaker 5: They like Wemby. We know we need a villain.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Me is he I like to see the climb, so
- 20:23Speaker 1: I like to see him go through some pain before
- 20:25Speaker 1: he actually wins.
- 20:26Speaker 5: It reminds me of what Michael Jordan had to do.
- 20:28Speaker 1: It reminds me of what others had to do in
- 20:31Speaker 1: pursuit of their first NBA championship. I think he could
- 20:34Speaker 1: turn that around very very quickly. I think he probably will.
- 20:37Speaker 1: No one thinks Wemby is a really bad dude. I
- 20:39Speaker 1: think most people just marvel at his basketball skills, want
- 20:43Speaker 1: him to shut up, and want him to just play basketball.
- 20:45Speaker 5: At stop trying to convince everyone he's the MVP.
- 20:48Speaker 3: We don't have that many people, that many leaders, team
- 20:51Speaker 3: leaders going clearly to their teammates, hey, hard foul when
- 20:54Speaker 3: they're leaving the game. You know that people could put
- 20:56Speaker 3: together a resume of hey, this guy is the oldtimate villain,
- 21:00Speaker 3: and no, we do not want to see him succeed
- 21:03Speaker 3: at the highest level.
- 21:05Speaker 9: This isn't even a think about a thing for me.
- 21:07Speaker 9: This isn't even think about a Thursday. Because a good
- 21:09Speaker 9: barometer for this is my wife, who watches no sports none.
- 21:15Speaker 8: But the other day she said to me, why is
- 21:19Speaker 8: that guy web and Yama such a bleep bag, such
- 21:22Speaker 8: a bleep such a this, And I'm like, I don't know.
- 21:26Speaker 8: I guess it's just because he's foreign. So she understands.
- 21:31Speaker 8: She only knows him in that in that vein. Yeah, sure,
- 21:35Speaker 8: that's how anybody who.
- 21:36Speaker 12: Isn't following the NBA as closely as someone like you
- 21:40Speaker 12: sees him, because that's the only perception of him we know,
- 21:43Speaker 12: and I don't know a path for him to get out.
- 21:47Speaker 9: Of that by simply being good at basketball.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Well, I'm curious was she watching the Okac Thunder series
- 21:53Speaker 3: because the images of him then would have made him
- 21:56Speaker 3: seem like.
- 21:57Speaker 8: A beloved Instagram clip of him shoving Bronson.
- 22:01Speaker 9: That's what she knows.
- 22:03Speaker 3: So that's really interesting, Stu, because yes, not only is
- 22:06Speaker 3: that phenomenon on its own mind boggling that the New
- 22:09Speaker 3: York Knicks and they're I'm just gonna say it, annoying fans,
- 22:12Speaker 3: I'm now America's team like they've been embraced. They are
- 22:15Speaker 3: so likable that they've been embraced even by people who
- 22:20Speaker 3: hate them. Now there's that, and then there's the contradiction
- 22:23Speaker 3: of what Wemby looks like to them. Right, Oh, here's
- 22:25Speaker 3: this team that we love. Oh, here was the enemy.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Therefore we don't like him going forward. But the other
- 22:30Speaker 3: part can also be true. If you hate the Knicks
- 22:34Speaker 3: so much, you're never gonna get over it.
- 22:37Speaker 4: You can blame Wemby for letting this happen. You can
- 22:40Speaker 4: blame Wemby for saying.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Dude, you had a double figure lead in almost every
- 22:44Speaker 3: one of these games and you blew it.
- 22:46Speaker 5: What happened? You know what?
- 22:47Speaker 4: You let this happen.
- 22:48Speaker 3: We hate you now you're not going to get one
- 22:50Speaker 3: and we're not going to cheer for you on our watch.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Which is why he can turn it around very quickly
- 22:55Speaker 1: because if he can next year and the following year
- 22:58Speaker 1: make all those fans happy who still hate the Knicks
- 23:00Speaker 1: and still hate.
- 23:01Speaker 5: Their fan base.
- 23:02Speaker 1: By beating the Knicks, he gets that portion of the
- 23:04Speaker 1: fan base back and loses New York.
- 23:06Speaker 5: Okay, he'll take it, you know.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Yeah, and so far, I mean he's still him himself, right,
- 23:11Speaker 3: he still has like an outlet because other people will
- 23:14Speaker 3: like blame Daron Fox because he was terrible in the series,
- 23:16Speaker 3: and they'll say or he can just say, yeah, look,
- 23:18Speaker 3: I'm just super skinny. If I'm going to play physical,
- 23:21Speaker 3: that's what it looks like often.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Yeah, But we know Wemby at this point, is he
- 23:24Speaker 1: this is the guy who takes this stuff very very seriously,
- 23:27Speaker 1: knows the history of the game, He's never gonna blame
- 23:28Speaker 1: d Aaron Fox, although he should.
- 23:30Speaker 5: I praise and celebrate d Aaron Fox.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I want to build him a statue outside of the Mecca,
- 23:34Speaker 1: but you know he's never gonna do that.
- 23:36Speaker 5: He's gonna put it all himself.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I have to be better, not Dylan Harper, not the
- 23:40Speaker 1: Aaron Fox, not anyone else, not the coach who I
- 23:42Speaker 1: think is the backup point guard. He has to be better.
- 23:45Speaker 1: He's gonna own that. He's gonna wear that because that's
- 23:48Speaker 1: the truth. Wemby needs to be better. Wemby was not great.
- 23:51Speaker 1: The interesting thing for me was how winded Wemby was
- 23:55Speaker 1: late in those games. And it gets back to regular
- 23:57Speaker 1: season conversations we have about how many games you should
- 23:59Speaker 1: be playing and how many minutes per game you should play.
- 24:03Speaker 5: Wemby needs to be in better shape come postseason. He
- 24:06Speaker 5: just needs to.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Be Yeah, And look, I think I'm just curious what
- 24:10Speaker 3: he's going to do going forward. If he's going to
- 24:13Speaker 3: try to lean into the villain thing and say I
- 24:15Speaker 3: don't really care what people think, let them, you know,
- 24:17Speaker 3: decide what they decide, or if he's gonna do some
- 24:20Speaker 3: things to make him seem a little bit more likable
- 24:21Speaker 3: because he was, like I said, extremely likable through ninety.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Eight percent of this season and then ninety eight Yes,
- 24:29Speaker 1: but at that point, is he ninety eight percent of
- 24:32Speaker 1: the NBA fans had it really hadn't seen him on
- 24:35Speaker 1: a daily basis, seen him in a press conference setting,
- 24:38Speaker 1: and then they you know, they saw the fangs come out.
- 24:40Speaker 5: I'm okay with that, Like we kind of need that
- 24:43Speaker 5: in the NBA. And I don't think Wemby cares. If
- 24:45Speaker 5: anyone likes him, I just don't think he cares. I
- 24:47Speaker 5: would also agree.
- 24:48Speaker 8: I don't think he cares. And I think if the
- 24:50Speaker 8: NBA were advising him, they'd want him to be the
- 24:53Speaker 8: villain because villains draw people in to watch. I'll watch
- 24:59Speaker 8: a Spurs game because I want to see him lose.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Yeah, And that's kind of for That's kind of where
- 25:05Speaker 3: I was with Michael Jordan after the first one where
- 25:07Speaker 3: they beat the Lakers. It was just like, all right,
- 25:09Speaker 3: somebody needs to end this because it's going to turn
- 25:11Speaker 3: into craziness.
- 25:12Speaker 4: It's going to turn into a one way dynasty.
- 25:14Speaker 5: Uh. Well, the Wizard that takes care of that for you.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Yeah, the Wizards did speak it of the Wizard by
- 25:18Speaker 3: the way, because we mentioned Daron Fox and then they
- 25:20Speaker 3: were no longer thinking about this and so this isn't
- 25:22Speaker 3: a part of the Wemby conversation.
- 25:23Speaker 4: However, Uh, Trey Young all of.
- 25:25Speaker 3: A sudden wants to be a free agent, which is
- 25:26Speaker 3: going to be a free agent, which is great to me.
- 25:28Speaker 3: That says the Wizards are actually going to draft Aaron
- 25:30Speaker 3: Peterson number one. And maybe Trey has a heads up
- 25:32Speaker 3: and that's his position. But he gets a really tough time, right,
- 25:37Speaker 3: He gets a lot of flack for being a guy
- 25:40Speaker 3: who doesn't defend necessarily a non reliable guy.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Even he would have been so much better than d
- 25:45Speaker 4: Aaron Fox in this finals.
- 25:47Speaker 3: There's no If Trey Young were that you know, overpaid
- 25:51Speaker 3: guard for the Spurs instead of d Aaron Fox, they
- 25:54Speaker 3: very likely be a champion right now.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Uh probably listen, just one time in my life, I
- 26:00Speaker 1: cannot believe this happened, because that was a player option
- 26:03Speaker 1: he had. He could have just said, hey, I'm coming back.
- 26:05Speaker 1: I would like to turn down forty nine.
- 26:09Speaker 5: Million dollars a year.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Like what an amazing feeling that must be to turn
- 26:15Speaker 1: down that kind of money. Trey Young, yes, would have
- 26:18Speaker 1: made a difference. He's proven that he could play in
- 26:20Speaker 1: that building, play well in that building. Trey Young, I
- 26:23Speaker 1: don't know where, do you like? What's gonna happen? There
- 26:25Speaker 1: is someone's gonna pay him fifty million dollars a year.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Somebody will because, like I said, he was better than
- 26:30Speaker 3: darreon Fox. So he'll be a finishing piece for a team.
- 26:33Speaker 3: But to contradict you, Stu Goatt's I would very much
- 26:35Speaker 3: like to accept a check for forty nine million dollars
- 26:39Speaker 3: not recheck one.
- 26:40Speaker 4: Okay, just so we're clear that.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Yeah, but the ability to say no to it because
- 26:43Speaker 1: you have so much money would be amazing.
- 26:46Speaker 3: I mean that would be the best part. Yes, you
- 26:48Speaker 3: already have the money, but right now step one for me.

- 27:49Speaker 4: Well, if there's any sort.
- 27:50Speaker 8: Of well, due respect to mister Messi, there is totally
- 27:54Speaker 8: a better pro out there of the week than mister
- 27:57Speaker 8: Messi with his three goals.
- 27:59Speaker 9: And she was at rig this week.
- 28:01Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I was about to say, wait to intro that.
- 28:04Speaker 4: I was about to say.
- 28:05Speaker 3: There is a staple of the stut Goats and Company
- 28:07Speaker 3: Live and that is lists that we extend into segments,
- 28:11Speaker 3: and so we have one running list. But before we
- 28:14Speaker 3: get to Ricardo's running list of top fifty shows that
- 28:17Speaker 3: are better to him than breaking bad. If you haven't
- 28:20Speaker 3: heard that, I'm going to give you a second so
- 28:21Speaker 3: you can sink that. That can sink in. He's got
- 28:23Speaker 3: fifty shows that he thinks are better than breaking Bad,
- 28:27Speaker 3: and we're in the middle of that list. But first,
- 28:30Speaker 3: there was a child of stut Goats. I didn't know
- 28:33Speaker 3: how to say this. I was going to say there
- 28:34Speaker 3: was a wiener. Yes, one of Stickats's children had a
- 28:41Speaker 3: very special moment recently.
- 28:43Speaker 4: Was it this weekend? Stu tell us about it?
- 28:45Speaker 5: It was actually last night.
- 28:46Speaker 1: We should point out Tony Hawk, the great escapeboarder of
- 28:49Speaker 1: all time, going to join us at hour number two,
- 28:51Speaker 1: Mike Goluck Senior going to join us at hour number two.
- 28:54Speaker 1: We went to Wrigley Field last night for a Cubs game,
- 28:57Speaker 1: and my daughter and two for teammates not only did
- 29:01Speaker 1: they throw out the first pitch, well, one of them did,
- 29:04Speaker 1: and she threw it dark and I'm proud of her.
- 29:06Speaker 5: But they also and is he this is amazing?
- 29:08Speaker 1: Like I was amazed by this, amazed that they were
- 29:11Speaker 1: doing it, and amazed that they don't realize what an
- 29:13Speaker 1: honor it is to do what it is that they did.
- 29:16Speaker 1: They led wriggly Field and all cub fans who were
- 29:19Speaker 1: at Wrigley Field last night, my daughter and two of
- 29:22Speaker 1: her teammates. It take me out to the ballgate seventh
- 29:25Speaker 1: inning stretch. I mean, that's an honor. That is stuff
- 29:28Speaker 1: here reserved for like Bill Murray and Eddie Vedder.
- 29:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:32Speaker 5: Crazy, yeah.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Obviously they have eighty one home games, right, so they've
- 29:34Speaker 3: got a lot of those to fill.
- 29:36Speaker 4: But I always thought that we're.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Filled with like legitimates, just stars and celebrities and stuff.
- 29:41Speaker 3: And now we've got well, a two time national champion
- 29:44Speaker 3: up there with a couple of our teammates, right, that
- 29:45Speaker 3: must have been pretty cool. Do we have the video?
- 29:47Speaker 3: Do we have the sound for that? Are we gonna
- 29:48Speaker 3: listen to it? We're gonna listen to it.
- 29:50Speaker 1: It outraged Mede that they had to rehearse take Me
- 29:52Speaker 1: out to the ball game because kids don't care about
- 29:54Speaker 1: our pastime.
- 29:55Speaker 5: I mean, don't.
- 29:56Speaker 4: I don't know the where it's due. Yes, all right,

- 30:37Speaker 5: By me, so key, Crocker Jacks, Hi, don't care if
- 30:45Speaker 5: I never get back. Let me root for the copies.
- 30:52Speaker 4: In the it's a shame.
- 30:56Speaker 3: For this one.
- 30:58Speaker 5: Two, let's get wow a little pitchy.
- 31:12Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I'm actually going a little pitchy for me.
- 31:14Speaker 5: Dog.
- 31:16Speaker 3: I was gonna say, we've been listening to Taylor songs
- 31:18Speaker 3: for a good amount of months here.
- 31:20Speaker 4: I think that's the best singing we've heard so far.
- 31:22Speaker 4: So yeah, it's definitely.
- 31:23Speaker 5: Yeah. It was really cool?
- 31:24Speaker 10: Is he?
- 31:24Speaker 5: They did it? You know?
- 31:25Speaker 1: In boog Shambi's office, Boob was off last night though
- 31:28Speaker 1: he does one hundred and ten games a year, so
- 31:30Speaker 1: he wasn't there, but he did send me a quality video.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Well he does a ton of ESPN games. Book said, Hey,
- 31:36Speaker 1: I'm off tonight. I responded, slacker.
- 31:39Speaker 3: I mean could have killed him to just kind of
- 31:42Speaker 3: moved come to the stadium for come to the stadium
- 31:45Speaker 3: for this one particular night, even if he's not working, Hey, Boom,
- 31:47Speaker 3: come on.
- 31:48Speaker 1: In fairness to Boog I alerted him that this night
- 31:52Speaker 1: was happening.
- 31:52Speaker 5: As I was walking into the stadium, I just assumed
- 31:55Speaker 5: he was there for every game.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that makes sense you and not telling
- 31:59Speaker 3: him that it's like yeah.
- 32:01Speaker 1: So I critiqued all three of them afterwards. I told them, yeah,
- 32:04Speaker 1: I don't less it's our national anthem. I said, you know,
- 32:08Speaker 1: take it more seriously. I also told them they were pitchy.
- 32:11Speaker 5: I did. I told them just a little bitchy.
- 32:14Speaker 1: And then I told Rachel, you're a Mets fan, relax
- 32:18Speaker 1: with the Cubs. If you wore this Cubs jersey on
- 32:21Speaker 1: Long Island, someone would shiv you.
- 32:24Speaker 3: I mean, she did it before you did, so congrats
- 32:26Speaker 3: to her. That's a huge achievement, Riccardo.
- 32:29Speaker 5: She responded to the Mets suck and she's right.
- 32:31Speaker 4: So Ricardo, how ready are you with this list? I'm
- 32:36Speaker 4: ready when you go. We leave off on this We
- 32:38Speaker 4: left off on number thirty.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Okay, so we're at number thirty of the top fifty
- 32:43Speaker 3: shows that Ricardo believes are better than Breaking Bad, and
- 32:46Speaker 3: it's it sounds more ridiculous every time I say it,
- 32:48Speaker 3: but go ahead, number thirty.
- 32:49Speaker 5: All right.
- 32:49Speaker 1: The idea that we've gone through twenty and there are
- 32:51Speaker 1: thirty mores absurd, I mean seriously, all.
- 32:54Speaker 7: Right, even though it had a terrible last season, I'm
- 32:57Speaker 7: gonna have to give it a thirty Game of Threat.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Okay, Game of thron Fine, that's on there. I thought
- 33:06Speaker 3: that would be top five, but okay, I guess we wait.
- 33:10Speaker 5: So now he has twenty nine shows better than Game.
- 33:12Speaker 3: Of Thrills, right right, that sounds impossible. Let's go to
- 33:15Speaker 3: number twenty.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Nine Parks and Recreations.
- 33:18Speaker 5: Wow show.
- 33:19Speaker 3: See, now this is getting ridiculous because now every time
- 33:22Speaker 3: you say a good show, I'm like, there's no way
- 33:24Speaker 3: there's umpteen shows better than this one. But let's go ahead,
- 33:27Speaker 3: Parks and rec number twenty nine, twenty eight.
- 33:30Speaker 4: It's always sunny in Philadelphia. Oh man, Joe. It's a
- 33:33Speaker 4: great show.
- 33:33Speaker 3: And it gets extra credit because it just keeps going.
- 33:36Speaker 3: They just keep churning out hilarious.
- 33:38Speaker 8: It is the longest running sitcom live action sitcom ever.
- 33:43Speaker 7: No, that's it gets I mean twenty seven twenty seven Atlanta.
- 33:48Speaker 4: Wow.
- 33:49Speaker 3: See, there are a lot of people that would agree
- 33:51Speaker 3: with you on almost on pretty much.
- 33:53Speaker 4: All of these.
- 33:54Speaker 5: I've never heard of Atlanta show.
- 33:57Speaker 3: You've never heard of Atlanta, A Lover's Kid America and
- 34:02Speaker 3: number twenty six, twenty six.
- 34:05Speaker 7: It's an anime, so I'm sure you guys never heard
- 34:08Speaker 7: of it.
- 34:09Speaker 5: It's called five Cowboy Bebop.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Okay, you could have just after anime.
- 34:15Speaker 3: You could have said any words available to your mouth
- 34:18Speaker 3: and we would have been like, Okay, that sounds about right.
- 34:21Speaker 5: Give me a top fifty animes.
- 34:22Speaker 3: I mean, jeez, Stu Gotson Company live here. One last
- 34:26Speaker 3: segment with you. We have the polls to get to
- 34:29Speaker 3: for the week because tomorrow is a holiday. And before
- 34:32Speaker 3: we get to that USA in Australia it is It's
- 34:35Speaker 3: USA Australia.
- 34:37Speaker 4: What a day.
- 34:38Speaker 3: But before we get to that, stew I wanted to
- 34:42Speaker 3: ask Taylor has been supposedly in New York. I thought
- 34:45Speaker 3: for this moment, and yet for some reason we haven't
- 34:48Speaker 3: heard from him on this parade day.
- 34:49Speaker 4: What's going on there?
- 34:51Speaker 1: So it's interesting Taylor did he went to the parade?
- 34:55Speaker 1: I asked mikey A last night from the Cubs game, Hey,
- 34:57Speaker 1: would you mind reaching out to Taylor and ask him
- 34:59Speaker 1: if he call in with live reports from the parade?
- 35:02Speaker 5: Mikey A did. I'll let mikey A report on how
- 35:04Speaker 5: that call went.
- 35:05Speaker 8: Okay, So I texted Taylor, Hey, what's your plan for tomorrow?
- 35:10Speaker 9: Are you calling in a bunch with updates? And his
- 35:13Speaker 9: reply was no, I'm off.
- 35:17Speaker 8: Full minute goes by text again completely off.
- 35:23Speaker 5: Joy fired him.
- 35:24Speaker 8: Yeah, now he's completely on.
- 35:28Speaker 6: So he's got the rest of his life off.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Despite him giving us some of his best work while
- 35:34Speaker 3: he was doing a reporting from the streets of New
- 35:37Speaker 3: York and this being the best day possible to do that.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Maybe in the history of New York he's taking.
- 35:42Speaker 5: Here comes Bruns.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Some would view it as an opportunity and some would
- 35:46Speaker 1: view it as a full day off.
- 35:48Speaker 5: Do not bother me, Leave me the hell alone, all right?
- 35:51Speaker 4: So I guess we won't go.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Listen, I have coach lacrosse games and called into my
- 35:55Speaker 1: show from the sidelines.
- 35:56Speaker 5: It's unbelievable.
- 35:59Speaker 8: Further record, I texted Stu Gotts yesterday while at the
- 36:03Speaker 8: aquarium with my kids chaperone for his field trip, and
- 36:06Speaker 8: I said, I'm at the aquarium.
- 36:08Speaker 9: Can I make this funny at all? Is there anything
- 36:10Speaker 9: we can do with this?
- 36:13Speaker 2: Now?
- 36:13Speaker 9: We didn't because there wasn't.
- 36:17Speaker 4: He's made a stay of here.
- 36:18Speaker 1: He's in fairness to tailor. This is a big day
- 36:20Speaker 1: for him. He's been waiting for this day his entire life.
- 36:23Speaker 1: This team has changed his life. And I was I'm fine.
- 36:26Speaker 1: I didn't fire him. He's on temporary leave. I suspended
- 36:30Speaker 1: him for two weeks because I know how much today
- 36:35Speaker 1: meant to him, and I wanted him to have his
- 36:37Speaker 1: feel good without being bothered, because lord knows, I had
- 36:40Speaker 1: been on many vacations where a radio show has called
- 36:43Speaker 1: me and just bothered me relentlessly.
- 36:45Speaker 5: That's all.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Yeah, well, all right, so we're not going to get
- 36:48Speaker 3: Taylor's reporting.
- 36:49Speaker 5: In that particular one.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Just I'll talk about Let's see what he's been waiting
- 36:54Speaker 3: his whole life to hear from the guy who has
- 36:57Speaker 3: changed his life, Jalen Brunson.
- 36:59Speaker 14: There's a lot of people. They have a lot of
- 37:02Speaker 14: negative stuff to say. There's a lot of people who
- 37:05Speaker 14: have a lot of opinions. But when you prove them wrong,
- 37:12Speaker 14: you really have to You don't have to say to them, nah,
- 37:24Speaker 14: they don't deserve it, they don't deserve it. Appreciate you all,
- 37:26Speaker 14: thank you.
- 37:28Speaker 4: And that's your King of New York right there.
- 37:30Speaker 3: That is the most boring speech ever getting given at
- 37:32Speaker 3: a championship parade of all the time, at least accidentally
- 37:36Speaker 3: say the name Becky, at least say Hammond or something.
- 37:38Speaker 3: But like, you're not even gonna mention anything. You're just
- 37:40Speaker 3: gonna say they don't deserve it and then just walk away.
- 37:43Speaker 3: I feel like that's pretty weak.
- 37:45Speaker 5: Yeah, he said a bunch of nothing. Everyone cheered.
- 37:47Speaker 1: He could burp into that microphone today and everyone would
- 37:49Speaker 1: cheer and give him the same sort of response.
- 37:51Speaker 5: It doesn't matter what he says anymore.
- 37:53Speaker 1: And I do find it funny, is he before we
- 37:55Speaker 1: get to the balls, that after winning the title, being
- 37:58Speaker 1: the best player on the Knicks and helping them win
- 38:02Speaker 1: their first title in fifty some odd years, that people
- 38:05Speaker 1: are still questioning whether or not Jalen Brunton is a
- 38:07Speaker 1: top five player, a top ten player. What he's saying
- 38:10Speaker 1: there clearly clearly is it doesn't matter. We have the ring,
- 38:13Speaker 1: we won the title. We don't need to respond. But
- 38:16Speaker 1: I do find it funny because I'll ask you, is
- 38:18Speaker 1: he would you take Anthony Edwards or Jalen Brunson today,
- 38:23Speaker 1: Because my guess is it's going to be Anthony Edwards.
- 38:25Speaker 4: Most people would no, I'll take Jalen Brunson. He's a
- 38:28Speaker 4: more reliable scorer.
- 38:29Speaker 3: I think, yeah, he's not quite as explosive potentially as as.
- 38:34Speaker 4: Anthony Edwards can be.
- 38:35Speaker 3: But I mean, the man scored sixty against the Spurs
- 38:37Speaker 3: in a game like during the regular season. I think
- 38:39Speaker 3: he can do pretty much anything. And it's not like
- 38:41Speaker 3: Anthony Edwards is this great defender. He's a capable defender,
- 38:45Speaker 3: but he doesn't really put on a show defensively.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Okay, I just feel like there's a lot of people
- 38:50Speaker 1: out there saying, hey, if you know Jalen Brunson, good player,
- 38:53Speaker 1: not a great player, and I would take certain guys
- 38:55Speaker 1: over him to start my franchise.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Well, that's the one thing I hate about sports today
- 38:59Speaker 4: is we're judging.
- 38:59Speaker 3: Every thing immediately. Jalen Brunce is still got more career
- 39:02Speaker 3: to go, so let's give it some time. So it does,
- 39:03Speaker 3: Anthony Allott, Let's give it some time. We don't have
- 39:05Speaker 3: much time, but let's get to the polls at the
- 39:07Speaker 3: time we have left. It's usually a tailor thing, right,
- 39:09Speaker 3: So Mikey, you got this under control.
- 39:10Speaker 4: I know it's difficult.
- 39:11Speaker 5: I think I can handle it.
- 39:15Speaker 8: Did every Nick since nineteen ninety four win a championship
- 39:18Speaker 8: on Saturday.
- 39:19Speaker 1: All Right, Taylor maintains that the Knicks won a championship
- 39:22Speaker 1: for all the Knicks who have played It's nineteen ninety four,
- 39:25Speaker 1: including Quincy Acy.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Including guys that are still in the league and currently
- 39:28Speaker 3: playing for other teams.
- 39:29Speaker 4: No, that doesn't make any sense.
- 39:31Speaker 9: No, well, sixty seven percent of the audience said, yes.
- 39:35Speaker 5: Everyone's getting caught up with the hype in the moment.
- 39:40Speaker 8: If Madison Square Garden could only get one statue, who
- 39:43Speaker 8: would get it? It's either the og Ananobe tip play
- 39:47Speaker 8: or Jalen Brunson.
- 39:49Speaker 5: Man, A tough one.
- 39:51Speaker 4: Just Jalen right, man?
- 39:52Speaker 3: What kind of laws do they have in New York
- 39:54Speaker 3: City that this building can only get one statue in
- 39:56Speaker 3: front of it?
- 39:57Speaker 4: It's ridiculous.
- 39:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna go ahead and say, Jalen Brunson, it doesn't
- 40:00Speaker 3: matter any number of poses, but the one with the
- 40:01Speaker 3: three heating his face.
- 40:02Speaker 8: Probably sixty three percent of the audience said, Jalen Brunson,
- 40:07Speaker 8: what sounds better for a parade? Championship parade or Canyon
- 40:11Speaker 8: of Heroes?
- 40:11Speaker 5: Canyon of Heroes? Easy, it's not even in question.
- 40:14Speaker 9: Sixty two percent of the audience.
- 40:16Speaker 5: Said, keep them over.
- 40:18Speaker 8: We have to do better than a bedazzled championship T shirt.
- 40:22Speaker 9: Eighty one percent of the audience.
- 40:23Speaker 5: Said yes, Taylor has one. Yep.
- 40:26Speaker 8: Any other year with Hurricanes, Golden Knight's been the talk
- 40:29Speaker 8: of the town.
- 40:32Speaker 9: Sixty percent of the audience said no
- 40:37Speaker 4: We'll talk to you sometime in the future.
