Latest / Foul Territory / What's going on with Ketel Marte? MVP PCA walks off White Sox, Padres officially have new owners
Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: We have a lot to do today, a lot krats
- 0:06Speaker 1: polar braun Heye. Something that happened yesterday during the show.
- 0:11Speaker 1: The Padres officially have new owners, and that happened. We've
- 0:16Speaker 1: been talking about it for a while, Kratz, but it's
- 0:19Speaker 1: now official, so they get to do whatever they want
- 0:22Speaker 1: starting yesterday. Approved by the rest of the frat.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yeah, not unanimously, too, almost said anonymously. Unanimously they all
- 0:34Speaker 2: agreed to accept them in, even though some were like
- 0:38Speaker 2: three point nine million, billion, damn, I said, billion billion,
- 0:45Speaker 2: three point nine billion dollars. Good for them, first majority
- 0:50Speaker 2: black owner in baseball. I love it and many Machado
- 0:55Speaker 2: even said many. Minchada was like, I can't wait to
- 0:57Speaker 2: see what a what a owner with Latin heritage is
- 1:01Speaker 2: going to do with a baseball team, especially in that area.
- 1:03Speaker 3: So there's a lot to be excited about about this. Yeah.
- 1:07Speaker 1: The names are Jose Feliciano and his wife Kwanza Jones KP.
- 1:12Speaker 1: They have indicated that they are going to try to
- 1:15Speaker 1: keep the fun times rolling in San Diego, but add
- 1:18Speaker 1: a title to the mix. Not just the sellout crowds,
- 1:22Speaker 1: the investing back in the team, the whole deal They've
- 1:24Speaker 1: done a lot of that with the last group.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I don't expect anything to change immediately.
- 1:30Speaker 4: There's not much they can do at this given time,
- 1:33Speaker 4: post trade deadline, you know, the uncertainty of baseball next year.
- 1:37Speaker 4: But they obviously invested a ton of money into buying
- 1:40Speaker 4: this team, and the Padres draw extremely well. I think
- 1:44Speaker 4: the last thing they need to do to kind of
- 1:47Speaker 4: solidify potentially their legacy in San Diego purchasing this team
- 1:51Speaker 4: is bringing home a championship. And it feels like you
- 1:55Speaker 4: spend that much on the team either. It feels like
- 1:57Speaker 4: they're a group that's going to go that extra mile
- 1:59Speaker 4: to potent should go out and try to acquire players
- 2:02Speaker 4: and truly try to win San Diego because they have
- 2:05Speaker 4: an incredible fan base. It's one of the best stadiums
- 2:07Speaker 4: in baseball. There's not much that needs to be done
- 2:10Speaker 4: with the actual you know, Petco Park, it's beautiful, the
- 2:13Speaker 4: playing surface, you know everything about the stadium. It's now
- 2:17Speaker 4: about trying to bring a championship back, and it feels
- 2:19Speaker 4: like they got the right people to do it.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Yep, We'll see what they do, and now let's charge
- 2:25Speaker 1: the damn mound let's charge about. I mean, PCA have
- 2:32Speaker 1: a game to start and to finish with Dingers, just
- 2:36Speaker 1: an all around incredible performance and kp this series is
- 2:39Speaker 1: on fire. This is the series that's taking over the
- 2:42Speaker 1: beginning of the week with the White Sox and the
- 2:43Speaker 1: Cubs back and forth affair. Yet the ben and Tendee
- 2:46Speaker 1: homer late, but ultimately PCA does the trick. We're going
- 2:49Speaker 1: to get into some of the nitty gritty here, but
- 2:51Speaker 1: first overall, how cool is this from someone who recently
- 2:54Speaker 1: played with the White Sox during darker times.
- 2:58Speaker 4: No, it's great, you know, and obviously you got to
- 3:00Speaker 4: give a ton of credit to Will Benable what he's
- 3:03Speaker 4: able to do with that group of guys to get
- 3:06Speaker 4: them not only to win, but get them to believe
- 3:08Speaker 4: that they're, you know, a young group of guys that
- 3:10Speaker 4: can go out and accomplish great things. And man, if
- 3:13Speaker 4: you would have asked me this a year and a
- 3:15Speaker 4: half ago when I was there in spring training with
- 3:18Speaker 4: them and then ultimately the start of the season, I
- 3:20Speaker 4: would have thought you were crazy that they would be
- 3:22Speaker 4: playing a cross town rivalry game in first place in
- 3:26Speaker 4: their division against a team that's kind of ran away
- 3:29Speaker 4: with that first wildcard spot. That's now put themselves in
- 3:31Speaker 4: a position to they're within striking this into the Brewers.
- 3:34Speaker 4: But to have a meaningful matchup in Chicago this late
- 3:38Speaker 4: into the season, I would have I would not have
- 3:41Speaker 4: bet money on it from where, from where that organization
- 3:44Speaker 4: was at a year and a half ago when I
- 3:46Speaker 4: was part of it.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I mean, PCA definitely locked up the n O m VP,
- 3:54Speaker 2: not Otani MVP, like he's definitely the best player.
- 3:57Speaker 3: That's not show.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Helo Tani hit two dangers too. Yes, I get it,
- 4:02Speaker 2: he's still behind him. But to have a game where
- 4:07Speaker 2: whether they know whether the young players and we even
- 4:10Speaker 2: asked yesterday the Socks Machine, We asked them if you
- 4:14Speaker 2: know if people know about the North Side South Side
- 4:18Speaker 2: rivalry in the locker rooms, and it was kind of.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Like, I don't know.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Even if they don't know it, they know they're two
- 4:24Speaker 2: good teams on the field. And for PCA to lead
- 4:26Speaker 2: off and to walk it off shows that he knows
- 4:30Speaker 2: exactly what the situation means and he's able to step
- 4:35Speaker 2: up and get the job done at a time of
- 4:37Speaker 2: year when last year he was fading. He seems yes,
- 4:41Speaker 2: I get it, he had a little bit of a
- 4:42Speaker 2: tough stretch recently, but he seems to be getting stronger
- 4:47Speaker 2: and all the stuff they did earlier in the year
- 4:50Speaker 2: are is paying off. That it's as staying there with
- 4:53Speaker 2: his thirty thirty season.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Yeah, not to mention, you know, him fading, but it's
- 4:58Speaker 4: very ironic. Guess today I just had to TV on,
- 5:01Speaker 4: you know, the earlier game was on, I believe it
- 5:03Speaker 4: was the Cardinals and read and then it was just
- 5:05Speaker 4: showing like ballpark cam and sure enough PCA was out
- 5:08Speaker 4: there early hitting off a t on the field. Then
- 5:11Speaker 4: John Maylee was slipping to him. So there's a young
- 5:14Speaker 4: player who obviously has so much talent, but I don't
- 5:18Speaker 4: think he liked the way the season ended for him
- 5:20Speaker 4: last year, kind of fading a little bit. The fact
- 5:22Speaker 4: that he's out there continuing to work, you know, and
- 5:25Speaker 4: I'm not a huge War guy. I think there's some
- 5:27Speaker 4: validity in it because you know, it does tell you
- 5:31Speaker 4: some things. But the fact that he's leading all position
- 5:33Speaker 4: players in war at a point two, a full point
- 5:37Speaker 4: above Otani, this guy's a complete player. I mean, look
- 5:40Speaker 4: at these offensive numbers and we're not even talking about
- 5:42Speaker 4: arguably the best defender regardless of position in the major leagues.
- 5:48Speaker 4: It's really fitting that he would go out lead off,
- 5:51Speaker 4: home run, walk off homer. Otani would keep himself kind
- 5:54Speaker 4: of in that race that conversation by hitting two home
- 5:57Speaker 4: runs yesterday. But you know, without Otanni pitching right now
- 6:01Speaker 4: and missing a significant amount of time, Pca is my
- 6:05Speaker 4: MVP right now. It's incredible what he's been able to do.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Yeah, coming up big in clutch moments. Let's go through
- 6:12Speaker 1: that moment. Okay, from a managerial perspective, Kratz, you dealt
- 6:16Speaker 1: with this all the time, where you're trying to figure
- 6:18Speaker 1: out what to do in these scenarios. Let's roll back
- 6:21Speaker 1: to back tweets to explain what happened in extras. Here's
- 6:24Speaker 1: Scott Murkin, who covers the team, wrote, Will Venable on
- 6:27Speaker 1: thinking about walking Pca in the tenth when you had
- 6:29Speaker 1: first base open. Quote, No, that's not an option there
- 6:33Speaker 1: with Saya Suzuki behind him, that puts us in a
- 6:35Speaker 1: tough spot. Not a thought. I mean, think about all
- 6:37Speaker 1: the options, that's not one we're going to make there, Okay,
- 6:41Speaker 1: And he actually further mentioned to the media how they
- 6:44Speaker 1: would have considered putting Suzuki on first with the empty
- 6:48Speaker 1: first base. Now here's Jesse Rodgers talking about the difference
- 6:52Speaker 1: between the two relievers on the mound. He said, with
- 6:54Speaker 1: a base open, Jacob Webb drops a curve strike, gives
- 6:58Speaker 1: him nothing else to hit. This is more walks him
- 7:00Speaker 1: on the next four pitches. If he chases, great, If not,
- 7:03Speaker 1: move on next inning. Same scenario bottom ten. It's taking Smith,
- 7:06Speaker 1: the rookie barely in the big league so far right,
- 7:08Speaker 1: big time stuff sneaks a fastball by PCA at two oh.
- 7:12Speaker 1: That gets his attention. Also in Bolden, Smith thinking he's
- 7:15Speaker 1: back in the AB. Then he goes nearly middle middle
- 7:17Speaker 1: with a slider PCA danger. So Rogers said, should have
- 7:21Speaker 1: walked him at two oh. If not to start the
- 7:24Speaker 1: AB the two best hitters on each team treated differently.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Ek your thoughts disagree?
- 7:30Speaker 2: I couldn't disagree more. Jesse, you do not walk. You
- 7:35Speaker 2: don't walk PCA in that situation. Say this as Zuki's
- 7:39Speaker 2: hammering lefties. That is the Now do you hang on
- 7:44Speaker 2: middle middle or do you sit there and say, you know,
- 7:48Speaker 2: what is the adjustment. We can talk about pitch selection
- 7:50Speaker 2: all the time. I didn't throw the pitch. I didn't
- 7:54Speaker 2: call the pitch. I can't sit here, excuse me and
- 7:58Speaker 2: and do a you don't water cooler, water cooler judgment
- 8:03Speaker 2: of what they should have done. No, in my opinion,
- 8:07Speaker 2: you are going after PCA there walking Suzuki just like
- 8:11Speaker 2: they said, and then trying to get the next one. Now,
- 8:14Speaker 2: if you go after PCA, it doesn't mean well you
- 8:16Speaker 2: can't walk him. No, It's kind of like one of
- 8:19Speaker 2: those things. How aggressive is he? Does he want to
- 8:22Speaker 2: get does he want to get the job done? And
- 8:24Speaker 2: once you blow him away? To me, maybe you waste
- 8:26Speaker 2: another heater. Even if that.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Goes three to one. Nobody wanted to throw cement next
- 8:31Speaker 3: or slider middle middle.
- 8:37Speaker 1: We have pop in colors for Mack Weldon. Here, I've
- 8:39Speaker 1: got a little green shade. You've got a nice blue shade.
- 8:42Speaker 1: And what else do you love about Mack Weldon crats, I.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Can be head to toe with Mack Weldon.
- 8:47Speaker 2: I have the underwear, I have the shorts, I have
- 8:50Speaker 2: the pants, I have the socks. Obviously we got the
- 8:53Speaker 2: shirt and the jackets. But it's head to toe comfort
- 8:57Speaker 2: no matter what piece they send.
- 8:59Speaker 3: I even have a belt that looks sick.
- 9:01Speaker 1: And make sure you check out Mack Weldon's air knit

- 9:26Speaker 1: promo code foul. That's m A c k W E
- 9:29Speaker 1: L d o N dot com code f o U L.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:34Speaker 4: I mean, I'm obviously going to defer to Crassy in
- 9:37Speaker 4: terms of hitch selection and things like that. But you know,
- 9:41Speaker 4: obviously he showed signs of coming out of that slump
- 9:44Speaker 4: a little bit. Obviously lean off the game with home run.
- 9:46Speaker 4: He had three hits in the game. But you got
- 9:49Speaker 4: to go with the left on left matchup right there,
- 9:51Speaker 4: and you look at kind of his recent struggles. He
- 9:54Speaker 4: was hitting one to eleven, one seventy three, three thirty
- 9:57Speaker 4: three over his last games. You know, it's a tough
- 10:01Speaker 4: call as a manager, But I do agree with Kratzy
- 10:03Speaker 4: right there, some of it was more about pitch selection.
- 10:05Speaker 4: I don't think you give him the automatic free pass
- 10:08Speaker 4: right there. For as great as PCA is and has been,
- 10:13Speaker 4: you know, sometimes you have to play off a guy's
- 10:16Speaker 4: emotions in that situation and you try to get some
- 10:19Speaker 4: chase there. And I know he did a good job
- 10:20Speaker 4: getting to own that count. But blowing a fastball by
- 10:23Speaker 4: him right there and then immediately going back to the
- 10:26Speaker 4: slider is probably the bigger question that needs to be answered,
- 10:31Speaker 4: whether not do you pitch him or not pitched him there,
- 10:33Speaker 4: especially with Tazuki how he's been raking, especially left handed pitching.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Right there, that's the guy you got to go after.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Nobody wants to hang a pitch in a situation like that,
- 10:42Speaker 4: or no one wants to hang a pitch in general.
- 10:44Speaker 4: But I think it's more about the pitch selection as
- 10:47Speaker 4: opposed to do you pitch him or not?
- 10:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean he'd definitely see what what.
- 10:53Speaker 2: You know based on the result, Based on the pitch before,
- 10:56Speaker 2: I would say he was probably sitting soft. He is
- 11:00Speaker 2: an MVP candidate you don't get to too well and
- 11:02Speaker 2: go probably getting a heater and then he got blown away. No,
- 11:07Speaker 2: he was probably sitting soft, thought it was going to
- 11:09Speaker 2: be a slider and he was going to get the
- 11:12Speaker 2: job done on the pitch before. So maybe maybe poor
- 11:16Speaker 2: pitch selection, but it's only poor pitch selection if he
- 11:19Speaker 2: hits a walk off bingner.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Did either of you guys see sam Antanaci's hit by pitch?
- 11:27Speaker 1: Did you guys see when he was hit by.
- 11:28Speaker 3: A pitch again? Do you mean every game?
- 11:32Speaker 1: Yeah, basically this was twenty three I think ties the
- 11:35Speaker 1: franchise record. I mean, the elbow definitely has the shakes
- 11:40Speaker 1: a little bit sometimes, So just curious if there's anything
- 11:44Speaker 1: you can do to try and prevent that. Besides, I mean,
- 11:47Speaker 1: you're not going to stop pitching inside to a player,
- 11:49Speaker 1: but if he's doing this and getting away with it,
- 11:53Speaker 1: I mean, it'll probably become more of a topic during
- 11:55Speaker 1: the playoffs.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Well, I mean, I will say because of recent with
- 12:00Speaker 4: kind of the Zach Wheeler conversation, maybe the new thing
- 12:03Speaker 4: is you're gonna put him on a list, You're gonna
- 12:06Speaker 4: notify umpires when you go into a series, like, hey,
- 12:08Speaker 4: he has a history of doing this. I think that's
- 12:10Speaker 4: the only thing you could really do at this point,
- 12:12Speaker 4: getting hit by a pitch is a skill. First of all,
- 12:14Speaker 4: you gotta be borderline insane to be a guy who
- 12:17Speaker 4: wants to get hit by pitches that often, because regardless
- 12:20Speaker 4: of what people say, yes it does hurt, and yes
- 12:23Speaker 4: we wear a lot of body armor now, but you
- 12:26Speaker 4: can't be afraid to throw this guy inside. You know,
- 12:28Speaker 4: it's kind of the risk reward you're you're dealing with.
- 12:31Speaker 4: But when a guy is kind of blatantly, kind of
- 12:33Speaker 4: getting out there and intentionally trying to get hit, it
- 12:37Speaker 4: isn't the rule book that you're supposed to make an
- 12:39Speaker 4: attempt to get out of the way. So I guess
- 12:42Speaker 4: that's the only thing you could do now, is you
- 12:43Speaker 4: put him on that Zach Wheeler list?
- 12:46Speaker 3: Is it?
- 12:46Speaker 2: Is it in the Is it in the rule book
- 12:49Speaker 2: that you have to make an attempt to get out
- 12:51Speaker 2: of the way or is that just like a high
- 12:53Speaker 2: school umpire telling you that's what the rule is?
- 12:57Speaker 4: Fair point? I don't I don't really know. I guess
- 12:59Speaker 4: I could look at it up. Maybe that's just that rule.
- 13:03Speaker 2: You have to make an attempt to get out of
- 13:06Speaker 2: the way of a pitch.
- 13:07Speaker 1: So well, tell me, Kratz. So, how was the line.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Can you just go like this over the plate and
- 13:12Speaker 1: him for the ball over the plate? You can, But
- 13:17Speaker 1: he does go over the plate.
- 13:19Speaker 2: No, he doesn't if he goes over the plate, check it.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Are we going to see a Sam Antonaci hit by
- 13:25Speaker 2: pitch that they go like this? Because I watch it
- 13:27Speaker 2: in college umpires. There was a kid on my son's team.
- 13:30Speaker 2: He broke the record for his college for hit by
- 13:32Speaker 2: pitches with like fifteen games to go in the season,
- 13:37Speaker 2: and he actually got called strike three for leaning over
- 13:40Speaker 2: the plate and getting hit sam Antonaxi's not doing that.
- 13:43Speaker 2: He's not leaning over the plate. Is he towing the line? Yes,
- 13:48Speaker 2: But to actually lean over the plate and get hit, No,
- 13:51Speaker 2: that's not allowed.
- 13:52Speaker 3: This isn't This isn't cricket.
- 13:54Speaker 2: But there's no rule that says the only rule is
- 13:58Speaker 2: you have to be in the box. And there's no
- 14:01Speaker 2: rule that says, to my knowledge that you actually have
- 14:04Speaker 2: to get out of the way of it, that you
- 14:06Speaker 2: have to make an attempt to get out of the way,
- 14:08Speaker 2: which does not preclude you can't get in the way
- 14:12Speaker 2: of the ball.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Okay, well, we'll let the real experts handle this in
- 14:17Speaker 1: the comments section when they look after we post this video.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Two more quick things. One for the Cubs, they did
- 14:24Speaker 1: lose a couple players. Edward Cabrera came back, didn't look
- 14:27Speaker 1: good the other day, blister back to the shelf. Sounds
- 14:30Speaker 1: like when he returns he'll be a reliever. We mentioned
- 14:32Speaker 1: that they think that the longer he's pitching, that's when
- 14:36Speaker 1: the problem is becoming a thing. Dansby Swanson grade two oblique,
- 14:42Speaker 1: so usually it's four to six weeks. They're thinking it's
- 14:46Speaker 1: going to be closer to four. That still puts us
- 14:48Speaker 1: pretty well into September. But in mid September, right, it's
- 14:51Speaker 1: not the end of the season. He still should have
- 14:53Speaker 1: himself at least a week, if not more, to get
- 14:57Speaker 1: himself comfortable. Again, he's a veteran, too concerned. But you
- 15:01Speaker 1: guys know the obliques better than I do.
- 15:04Speaker 4: I'm very concerned about an oblique because there's no kind
- 15:07Speaker 4: of linear path to how long that takes. And a
- 15:09Speaker 4: grade two obviously a grade above a grade one, so
- 15:13Speaker 4: a little bit longer healing time. Yeah, you just never
- 15:17Speaker 4: know how certain people react to it. It has a lot
- 15:19Speaker 4: to do with your swing mechanics and and you know
- 15:22Speaker 4: the amount of torque that you put on it. But
- 15:25Speaker 4: you know, regardless if he's hitting or not, and he
- 15:27Speaker 4: has been hitting better of recent and he has an
- 15:30Speaker 4: act for coming up with big hits like hit. What
- 15:32Speaker 4: he does defensively kind of being that leader of the
- 15:35Speaker 4: defense is just so invaluable to this team. It's really
- 15:39Speaker 4: tough shoes to fill. And you talk about, yes, he
- 15:42Speaker 4: hits ninth in their lineup, and you look at the
- 15:44Speaker 4: offensive numbers and they don't jump off the page. But
- 15:46Speaker 4: the stability that Dansby brings to that team, the comfort
- 15:50Speaker 4: that he brings to his pitching staff knowing anything hit
- 15:53Speaker 4: pretty much on the ground. With all the defensive infielders
- 15:56Speaker 4: of the Cubs, it's definitely a big blow for them.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Readicrats technically against the rules to lean into a pitch
- 16:09Speaker 1: or intentionally let yourself get hit. In baseball, according to
- 16:13Speaker 1: rule five oh five B two, a batter is only
- 16:15Speaker 1: awarded first base after being hit by a pitch if
- 16:18Speaker 1: they make an attempt to avoid the baseball or if
- 16:21Speaker 1: they had absolutely no chance to get out of the way.
- 16:24Speaker 4: Yeah, we got the same rule I was looking at as.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Opposed to dude last night. I'm just saying, and obviously,
- 16:31Speaker 1: you know some of them, he really gets hit and
- 16:33Speaker 1: I'm not going after him. I'm just saying, like last night,
- 16:35Speaker 1: like very clearly you look and it's boop, it's not boop.
- 16:41Speaker 1: It's not even just stay still, it's out, not in,
- 16:44Speaker 1: not straight out during the pitch coming in. That's intentional.
- 16:50Speaker 4: It's a skill though. It's definitely a skill like he
- 16:53Speaker 4: he he has the First of all, you have to
- 16:54Speaker 4: have the willingness to want to do it, and then
- 16:56Speaker 4: there's a skill to it. And there's a very gray
- 16:59Speaker 4: area between what you're talking about it like boop, but
- 17:01Speaker 4: then also like a slight turn would potentially, you know,
- 17:06Speaker 4: according to the rules, you're making an attempt, right, So
- 17:09Speaker 4: definitely an interesting thing.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Yeah, and a balk is whenever and a ball whenever
- 17:15Speaker 2: you deceive the runner. I'm just saying, if we're reading
- 17:18Speaker 2: the rule book, I'm just saying.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Okay, well, then screw all the rules. No more rules.
- 17:25Speaker 3: No, there's very black and white rules.
- 17:29Speaker 1: It might come up in the playoffs if he gets.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Hit by really will Brandon Geyer.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Exactly? Great?
- 17:38Speaker 3: How that worked out pretty good? Yeah? Good?
- 17:42Speaker 1: Good for his OBP. He made it in the bigs
- 17:45Speaker 1: for a while. Okay, last thing, too. There were some
- 17:47Speaker 1: gnarly fights, so those occurred. The one dude, uh you know,
- 17:52Speaker 1: Tony tank Top a lot of a lot of punches thrown,
- 17:55Speaker 1: didn't seem like a lot of damage, but all good.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Weird that they let him do that for a while,
- 18:02Speaker 1: and PCA actually mentioned how he was like there was
- 18:04Speaker 1: some battles going on the out in the outfield bleachers,
- 18:07Speaker 1: but also said like, we don't condone that. And for
- 18:10Speaker 1: PCA Merch, we got the animated line running. So if

- 19:58Speaker 1: K twelve dot com slash foul. Two minutes in the
- 20:01Speaker 1: break here, Spencer Nusband does a great job covering the Nationals.
- 20:04Speaker 1: He also does our District Territory show, and the article
- 20:07Speaker 1: is about his representation and mentioning how he's a little
- 20:10Speaker 1: bit uneasy moving to second base from shortstop. His agent,
- 20:14Speaker 1: Mike Sanders of Rock Nation, said he was not thrilled
- 20:16Speaker 1: about the decision, but his priorities to win games, be
- 20:19Speaker 1: a team first player, blah blah blah. But he's always
- 20:21Speaker 1: viewed himself as a shortstop short and long term. He
- 20:24Speaker 1: would love to have the off season under this front
- 20:26Speaker 1: office to be able to work on that, and believes
- 20:28Speaker 1: he can be a very good shortstop. So I said,
- 20:32Speaker 1: feedback the staff has been given. I don't think we
- 20:34Speaker 1: have a full evaluation yet of how good he can
- 20:37Speaker 1: truly be there. So thoughts like Kratz, you're smiling a
- 20:41Speaker 1: little bit? Does this mean pushback? I don't know if
- 20:44Speaker 1: the organization is going to listen here much. What's going
- 20:46Speaker 1: to happen here.
- 20:47Speaker 3: It doesn't matter what the organization.
- 20:49Speaker 2: I mean, He's going to think what he thinks and
- 20:50Speaker 2: the organization is going to do what they want to do.
- 20:52Speaker 2: The difference is twenty five million for the highest paid
- 20:56Speaker 2: second baseman on a five year deal Jose al Tuve
- 20:59Speaker 2: and thirty four point one million for Francisco Indoor on
- 21:03Speaker 2: a ten year deal worth three hundred and forty one million.
- 21:06Speaker 2: That's the pushback that is fair to say for cj Abrams.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Yeah, and I immediately went to a guy like Marcus Simeon,
- 21:15Speaker 4: who you know, kind of finished pre free agency as
- 21:19Speaker 4: a short stop and then signed as a second basement.
- 21:21Speaker 4: And then you just obviously you talked about the dollar
- 21:23Speaker 4: amounts right there. So obviously an agent's not going to
- 21:26Speaker 4: be too happy with, you know, changing positions because it
- 21:29Speaker 4: means dollar and cents. Especially the type of year cj
- 21:32Speaker 4: Abram is having offensively and you know, base running wise,
- 21:36Speaker 4: there's obviously questions about his ability to stay at shortstop
- 21:40Speaker 4: long term, but I understand where they're coming from.
- 21:46Speaker 3: KP. I was sitting in the four to.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Twenty five section perfectly looking down the first baseline. I
- 21:52Speaker 2: saw that ball was fair last night at the Phillies
- 21:56Speaker 2: Marlins game. The beauty of it. I get to see
- 21:59Speaker 2: the super high level view of it. And he would
- 22:02Speaker 2: have been on third because Harper was playing Sonoha over
- 22:06Speaker 2: and right center, and I think it was out of
- 22:09Speaker 2: Lopez I'm not one hundred percent sure what a score.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Did you see what the umpires deemed to be correct
- 22:17Speaker 2: or incorrect?
- 22:19Speaker 4: Well, I think incorrect. But I have a very interesting
- 22:22Speaker 4: take on this because when we start losing common sense
- 22:25Speaker 4: and the game's going more technologically sound, I think there
- 22:29Speaker 4: was a way that technology could be used. And I
- 22:31Speaker 4: don't know exactly what that looks like, but everything Clay
- 22:34Speaker 4: McCole is saying, considering the outfield positioning, the size lead,
- 22:38Speaker 4: no one's holding him on first base auto Lopez can
- 22:41Speaker 4: run a little bit. I definitely think they got the
- 22:42Speaker 4: call wrong. I mean, clearly they got the call wrong,
- 22:44Speaker 4: fair or foul, But where the runners should have been place,
- 22:48Speaker 4: I think they got wrong as well.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Don't we have so much? Don't we have so much?
- 22:51Speaker 3: Like math?
- 22:52Speaker 2: Oh, this guy was running at twenty seven point six
- 22:56Speaker 2: miles per hour. The ball was hit one hundred and
- 22:59Speaker 2: two feet away from Bryce Harper. For him to be
- 23:01Speaker 2: able to get over to that ball, he has to
- 23:04Speaker 2: run twenty nine miles per hour, which he's never done,
- 23:06Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Like all things that if
- 23:08Speaker 2: they want to do this with the numbers, they could
- 23:11Speaker 2: easily do it.
- 23:12Speaker 3: It's an easy math problem with my eyes.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Not a chance they get the runner out at home,
- 23:19Speaker 2: and I'm not sure if it was Ato Lopez or not,
- 23:21Speaker 2: but not a chance. Harper was in a pull shift
- 23:25Speaker 2: like six feet to the pull side of right field.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Hey, we're back and we're talking about katel Marte. What
- 23:34Speaker 1: the heck happened. We're about to get a lot of
- 23:35Speaker 1: insight from Nick Pokoro, but we want to hear from
- 23:38Speaker 1: Tory Lavello first. So if you were snoozing late last night,
- 23:42Speaker 1: katel Marte ends up not showing to the park and
- 23:45Speaker 1: they put him on the restricted list. Now we're hearing
- 23:47Speaker 1: that he might be getting an MRI on his knee.
- 23:49Speaker 1: We'll clear all that up after we play this sound
- 23:52Speaker 1: from his manager.
- 23:54Speaker 5: All I know is that he's dealing with a personal issue.
- 23:57Speaker 5: We're trying to figure that out. And you know, he
- 24:01Speaker 5: didn't he didn't show up today and he was put
- 24:03Speaker 5: on the restricted list. That's as much as I know
- 24:05Speaker 5: right now. I'm sure in time will start to uncover
- 24:08Speaker 5: and ravel some some information. But yeah, I knew that
- 24:13Speaker 5: there was something going on today when when I met
- 24:15Speaker 5: with you guys, But I still believe he was going
- 24:18Speaker 5: to be here and interest didn't show up.
- 24:24Speaker 1: D backs beat writer for the Arizona Republic, Nick mcoora,
- 24:26Speaker 1: joining us right now. Nick, this is a weird one.
- 24:29Speaker 1: But you've covered to tell Marte not being there before.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Tell us what's going on in this particular situation as
- 24:35Speaker 1: it develops, really heading right into our show.
- 24:39Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't have you know, clear answers for you.
- 24:43Speaker 6: I'm afraid he didn't show up last night. They were
- 24:46Speaker 6: telling us that, you know, he told them it was
- 24:49Speaker 6: a personal issue, and then today we find out he's
- 24:52Speaker 6: going to get tests on his knee. Both can be true, right,
- 24:56Speaker 6: I mean he could have been dealing with knee problems.
- 24:58Speaker 6: I mean he missed a game in Atlanta over the
- 25:00Speaker 6: weekend because of this. This left knee soren as he had,
- 25:04Speaker 6: and he could also have something going on personally. I
- 25:07Speaker 6: guess there's a chance they're connected as well. I don't
- 25:10Speaker 6: know what what we what we know from before the game,
- 25:13Speaker 6: Tory Leavello was dealing with a lot of balls in
- 25:16Speaker 6: the air. Uh Nolan Arenado had like an intercostal thing
- 25:20Speaker 6: he was he was sorting through trying to figure out if.
- 25:23Speaker 3: He was going to be available.
- 25:24Speaker 6: Katel had been expected to be the designated hitter, and
- 25:30Speaker 6: Tory mentioned that he was going to reach out to
- 25:33Speaker 6: Katl and see about playing second base. They hadn't had
- 25:36Speaker 6: those conversations yet at the time that he was speaking
- 25:39Speaker 6: with us. I guess for obvious reasons. Now we know
- 25:41Speaker 6: he was wasn't at the ballpark yet, So I don't
- 25:45Speaker 6: know did did did? Katel pushed back on, you know,
- 25:50Speaker 6: Tory saying we need you to play second base instead
- 25:52Speaker 6: of d H today, And.
- 25:53Speaker 3: I really have no idea.
- 25:55Speaker 6: We're still we're still trying to figure out exactly what
- 25:59Speaker 6: all went down yesterday and why could Tell never showed
- 26:02Speaker 6: up at the ballpark because I mean, if it's if
- 26:04Speaker 6: it's an injury, you go to the ballpark to get treatment, right,
- 26:07Speaker 6: I mean that's the way it should go down. You
- 26:10Speaker 6: should you need to go to work, That's the way it.
- 26:12Speaker 4: Goes Yeah, definitely very interesting. I have my thoughts. I'm
- 26:16Speaker 4: not here to share those thoughts, but I was in
- 26:18Speaker 4: Atlanta over the weekend and this team looks like a
- 26:21Speaker 4: legitimate playoff team. Bad timing with all this. How's the
- 26:25Speaker 4: team going to kind of deal with these distractions? Or
- 26:27Speaker 4: is this something It's not the first time Cotel's kind
- 26:30Speaker 4: of been in the news for things like this. Is
- 26:32Speaker 4: this something that this group's just kind of accustomed to
- 26:34Speaker 4: dealing with.
- 26:36Speaker 6: Yeah, that's the thing we're all going to be watching closely.
- 26:39Speaker 3: I think.
- 26:40Speaker 6: Yeah, Look, a couple of years ago, he didn't play
- 26:44Speaker 6: in a game down the stretch. They wound up missing
- 26:47Speaker 6: the playoffs. They kind of collapsed in the final week
- 26:49Speaker 6: of the season, lost out in a tiebreaker last night.
- 26:53Speaker 6: It was a really messy game. You kind of have
- 26:56Speaker 6: to assume that some of that was a distraction from
- 27:00Speaker 6: everything that happened before the game. But yeah, I mean,
- 27:03Speaker 6: this is a team that kind of felt like it
- 27:04Speaker 6: was starting to get roll and it was just in
- 27:06Speaker 6: such good position.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Maybe they still are.
- 27:09Speaker 6: Maybe that was just one game and the starting pitcher
- 27:12Speaker 6: and you know, Mitch Bratt and Zach Letel did not
- 27:15Speaker 6: pitch well, and that's really all it was. We'll see
- 27:19Speaker 6: as these coming weeks unfold if this is something that's
- 27:21Speaker 6: going to you know, linger with them.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Let's talk Fabletex, shall we. They have apparel for every season.
- 27:30Speaker 1: We're wearing it as we talk about it. It's soft,
- 27:32Speaker 1: it's comfortable. I wear it on the show sometimes on FT.
- 27:35Speaker 1: What else do you love about itcrats well.
- 27:37Speaker 2: I have it on right now, and I'm all about quality.
- 27:41Speaker 2: But you know what, you know how good your clothes
- 27:43Speaker 2: are when you're a parent and your kids keep stealing
- 27:47Speaker 2: all of it. My daughter stole the sweatshirt, my son
- 27:50Speaker 2: sole one of my t shirts. So it's got to
- 27:52Speaker 2: be nice looking.
- 27:53Speaker 1: And if it gets a little bit chillier, then it's
- 27:56Speaker 1: layering season and they've got layers for the fall. Now.
- 28:00Speaker 1: At fabletics dot com, slash foul to get seventy to

- 28:13Speaker 1: is a limited time offer, so do not wait again.
- 28:15Speaker 1: That's fabletics dot Com slash foul for seventy to eighty
- 28:21Speaker 1: percent off everything as a new VIP nick.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Earlier in the year, Tory Levello came to tell Marte's
- 28:30Speaker 2: defense almost that he's a good teammate. You probably can
- 28:34Speaker 2: remember exactly what he said, but was there kind of
- 28:38Speaker 2: a mounting like constant questions about you know, what happened
- 28:43Speaker 2: to the All Star break last year?
- 28:45Speaker 3: Earlier in the season, was.
- 28:47Speaker 2: It mounting and then it quieted down, and now obviously
- 28:51Speaker 2: this situation blows it back up.
- 28:54Speaker 6: Yeah, so he certainly everything that happened last year happened.
- 28:59Speaker 6: I think they had mostly moved on from that. He
- 29:03Speaker 6: missed a game against the Dodgers. He I think he
- 29:06Speaker 6: felt like he needed a day off. A Tani was
- 29:08Speaker 6: on the mound and and he took the day off then,
- 29:11Speaker 6: and there was a report that people in the organization
- 29:15Speaker 6: were still you know, we're again bothered by the fact
- 29:18Speaker 6: that he took this day off. I didn't get that
- 29:22Speaker 6: sense this year compared to last year. I got the
- 29:26Speaker 6: sense this year that that Tory was was kind of
- 29:29Speaker 6: speaking on behalf of most people in the organization that
- 29:31Speaker 6: Kattel had been doing a pretty good job of posting
- 29:33Speaker 6: this year. And you know, the way they were reacting
- 29:37Speaker 6: or the way that that tweet kind of depicted it
- 29:40Speaker 6: or report depicted it, you know, really wasn't wasn't accurate.
- 29:46Speaker 6: But look, I mean, here we are now it's a
- 29:49Speaker 6: third straight year where you know, he has kind of
- 29:52Speaker 6: found himself in the spotlight for you know, not playing.
- 29:58Speaker 6: And look, we got it. We got to see what's
- 30:00Speaker 6: going on with him from the personal side. If there's
- 30:03Speaker 6: a legitimate personal issue, we all need to like back
- 30:07Speaker 6: up a bit and and keep that in mind. But
- 30:10Speaker 6: I think, I think probably the reason that it's turning
- 30:13Speaker 6: into a thing now is just that you kind of
- 30:15Speaker 6: don't get the benefit of the doubt, benefit of the
- 30:18Speaker 6: doubt when it's just happened time and time again.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Yeah, what is he like? You're year around the team,
- 30:24Speaker 4: what's he like day to day?
- 30:26Speaker 3: To cover?
- 30:28Speaker 6: He mostly keeps to himself, I would say, I mean,
- 30:31Speaker 6: there's a there's a group of guys that that he's
- 30:34Speaker 6: that he's interacting with on a regular basis. But I don't,
- 30:38Speaker 6: you know, as far as is he a clubhouse problem
- 30:42Speaker 6: or I don't think that's the case. I don't think
- 30:45Speaker 6: he's especially close with all that many guys in the room.
- 30:48Speaker 6: I think he's another guy that that another guy you're
- 30:52Speaker 6: on the team with. It's a guy that has a
- 30:54Speaker 6: cubicle in your in your office, you know, just a
- 30:56Speaker 6: guy you work with. That's that's kind of the way
- 30:58Speaker 6: I I've I've kind of seen it.
- 31:02Speaker 2: So what so what do we take? What do we
- 31:06Speaker 2: glean from all of these situations? And I appreciate that
- 31:08Speaker 2: you're not trying to jump ahead and you know, write
- 31:11Speaker 2: a salacious story about something you don't know anything about.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Do we glean the fact that they were maybe looking
- 31:17Speaker 2: to trade him before he hit his no trade clause?
- 31:19Speaker 2: And now all of a sudden it is solidified. He
- 31:23Speaker 2: has ten five rights and has a full no trade clause.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean.
- 31:29Speaker 6: It's it's kind of a question of where, you know,
- 31:31Speaker 6: where do they go from here with him? I don't
- 31:34Speaker 6: know that they that they have too many choices, right,
- 31:36Speaker 6: I mean, I think he's locked up for another five years.
- 31:41Speaker 6: You know, it's it's and look, let's also realize as
- 31:46Speaker 6: frustrating as some of the stuff is, when Kattel plays,
- 31:50Speaker 6: he's usually a very good player. Like, this is a
- 31:52Speaker 6: guy that has helped them win baseball games a lot
- 31:56Speaker 6: over the you know, nine ten years he's been in
- 31:59Speaker 6: this organization. So like having him on your team isn't
- 32:03Speaker 6: the worst outcome. But I don't know that they have
- 32:06Speaker 6: much choice right now, right. I mean, they did look
- 32:08Speaker 6: into moving him they last winter, they didn't get an
- 32:11Speaker 6: offer that they felt was good enough. And now he
- 32:15Speaker 6: has ten five rights, and I mean, like, who's gonna
- 32:19Speaker 6: take him on right now? With what he's owed, and
- 32:22Speaker 6: it's not a crazy amount, but like it's you know,
- 32:26Speaker 6: tens of I don't know what it is, eighty million
- 32:28Speaker 6: dollars or something going forward, maybe more than that. Like
- 32:33Speaker 6: you're gonna have to pay that down quite a bit
- 32:35Speaker 6: for a team to want to take on the risk
- 32:37Speaker 6: probably that they see with him for this, for a
- 32:40Speaker 6: guy that has this this kind of track record. So
- 32:44Speaker 6: I feel like they're just going to have to make
- 32:46Speaker 6: two and make the best of it with him.
- 32:50Speaker 4: It seems like the Cubs is kind of sorry Cratzy.
- 32:52Speaker 4: It seems like they have kind of separated themselves from
- 32:57Speaker 4: the Pact and the wild Card. Then you look at
- 32:59Speaker 4: the Diamondback, the Padres, the Phillies, they've been playing, they've
- 33:03Speaker 4: been recently playing better baseball. What kind of gives you
- 33:06Speaker 4: optimism about this team that they could be a wildcard team?
- 33:11Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, they just got Michael Soroka back, Brandon
- 33:16Speaker 6: Fott is really rolling, Eduardo Rodriguez is having a great season.
- 33:19Speaker 6: Corbyn Burns is on the on the rehab trail too,
- 33:22Speaker 6: and they're hoping to get him back in a few weeks.
- 33:25Speaker 6: The bullpen has been very good. And then I think
- 33:28Speaker 6: offensively you know, it's just kind of become a lineup
- 33:31Speaker 6: that they still struggle with guys in the scoring position,
- 33:34Speaker 6: but they've kind of been doing just enough to win
- 33:37Speaker 6: games and they don't beat themselves. You know, this is
- 33:39Speaker 6: a team that plays good defense, goes first to third
- 33:42Speaker 6: every chance, you know, all that stuff. They they bunt,
- 33:45Speaker 6: they do the little things. So it's a good team.
- 33:48Speaker 6: They've been playing really good baseball now for you know,
- 33:51Speaker 6: the better part of five six weeks. So it's gonna
- 33:54Speaker 6: be really interesting to see how, you know, the events
- 33:56Speaker 6: here in Boston are going to factor into how things
- 33:59Speaker 6: go moving forward.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Nick, I'm going to go back to your statement of
- 34:04Speaker 2: the fact that I don't know who would want him.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Jazz Chisholm's going to be probably the best second baseman
- 34:10Speaker 2: available in free agency, and if he's available in free
- 34:14Speaker 2: agency and he has any suitors, with the act and
- 34:18Speaker 2: stuff that he does, I have a hard time believing
- 34:21Speaker 2: your statement that teams would not want.
- 34:24Speaker 6: To tell Okay, yeah, yeah, I mean I'm not I'm
- 34:27Speaker 6: just saying I don't think anybody's going to be looking
- 34:29Speaker 6: to give up the kind of package that the Diamondbacks
- 34:31Speaker 6: are going to want.
- 34:32Speaker 3: To get back. If if they're going.
- 34:35Speaker 6: To be trading him, I agree with you, yes, for sure.
- 34:38Speaker 6: I mean he's too good to just give him away.
- 34:40Speaker 6: If they wanted to give him away, someone would take him.
- 34:42Speaker 3: I agree, I agree. Okay, I had to get down there.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Sorry, I had no no that that's fair. And last
- 34:51Speaker 1: one here, and then let's go back to the Diamondbacks
- 34:52Speaker 1: as a whole, because yeah, there's some guys I want
- 34:54Speaker 1: to hear about coming back, like Justin Martinez, and then
- 34:56Speaker 1: even you know, timetables for a guy like Corbyn Burns.
- 35:01Speaker 1: How does Tory Lavello handle this if he's not able
- 35:05Speaker 1: to share much right at some point? I mean, Nick,
- 35:08Speaker 1: you're at the park, right, You're going to keep asking
- 35:09Speaker 1: questions until we get answers. That's your job, right. So
- 35:13Speaker 1: Tory's saying he's fine, right, he's physically fine, and then
- 35:17Speaker 1: today it's he's getting an MRI on the knee. So
- 35:19Speaker 1: I don't know if that was a thing brought up recently.
- 35:21Speaker 1: He's on the restricted list, he's not on the injured list.
- 35:24Speaker 6: Yeah, the the physically fine thing, I don't know if
- 35:29Speaker 6: this was if this was clear yesterday, But like when
- 35:32Speaker 6: a when a guy doesn't show up to the ballpark
- 35:35Speaker 6: and you're asking, is everything okay? Like like, what's what's
- 35:39Speaker 6: going on? And their answer is, lo, look, he's fine,
- 35:41Speaker 6: he's fine, He's physically fine.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Like that.
- 35:43Speaker 6: I think that's what what you know, everybody's worried about
- 35:45Speaker 6: a person's well being, right, So when they said physically fine,
- 35:48Speaker 6: I think that's the way, at least I interpreted it.
- 35:51Speaker 6: That's the way I was asking the question. So I'm
- 35:53Speaker 6: not sure that like it that that him having a
- 35:56Speaker 6: knee thing is necessarily a contradiction there. But yeah, I
- 36:02Speaker 6: don't know, I don't I think Tori's probably choosing his
- 36:06Speaker 6: words carefully because he hadn't really had a conversation with
- 36:08Speaker 6: Katel yet. I don't know if Phil have had one
- 36:12Speaker 6: by the time we talked to him in a couple
- 36:13Speaker 6: hours here today, we'll see.
- 36:17Speaker 1: And it sounded like, you know, he tried to reach
- 36:19Speaker 1: out but wasn't giving him much. One more sorry on
- 36:21Speaker 1: this or do we know? Is he going back to
- 36:24Speaker 1: Arizona tape get the testing done? Okay? So there's another one.
- 36:27Speaker 1: I mean, you've covered ball for a long time. You're
- 36:29Speaker 1: awesome at doing this. I love following you know, your
- 36:32Speaker 1: work on the Diamondbacks. Nolan Ernando had to get an
- 36:35Speaker 1: MEMORAI didn't need, and there's MRIs at every ballpark. Why
- 36:37Speaker 1: do you have to fly home for that?
- 36:39Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I guess there's question they weren't.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 36:41Speaker 6: I guess they're just telling him. This just tells us
- 36:44Speaker 6: that they weren't planning on playing him here in these
- 36:46Speaker 6: next couple of days.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 36:47Speaker 6: I mean, okay, whatever, whatever the personal issues are, maybe
- 36:50Speaker 6: he's still sorting through those that these can be, like,
- 36:53Speaker 6: you know, independent of each other.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Okay, all right, let's get to the team. So Justin
- 37:00Speaker 1: Martinez is back, Jordan Lawler is back, Corbyn Burns, Timetable,
- 37:04Speaker 1: anybody else that we're missing that we should think about.
- 37:06Speaker 1: These are some talented names that could make a difference
- 37:08Speaker 1: down the stretch.
- 37:11Speaker 6: Yeah, Lordescuriel Junior. I'm trying to think we've had so many.
- 37:18Speaker 6: Ryan Thompson's banged up and on the injured list, Dre Jamison,
- 37:22Speaker 6: Tommy Troy. Yeah, They've They've got some guys that haven't
- 37:25Speaker 6: been entirely shut down. And Ryan Nelson is another one
- 37:28Speaker 6: that's that's trying to get back. Although there's questions as
- 37:31Speaker 6: to whether he's going to be built up enough even
- 37:34Speaker 6: if he does make it back to where he could start.
- 37:36Speaker 6: But maybe it's a guy that that pitches in, you know,
- 37:39Speaker 6: in the bullpen, gives him some bulk innings.
- 37:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:42Speaker 6: I mean, they they didn't do much at the trade deadline.
- 37:45Speaker 6: They didn't do as much as they would have liked,
- 37:47Speaker 6: that's for sure. But I think they also knew that
- 37:50Speaker 6: they were going to have a lot of guys coming
- 37:52Speaker 6: back that we're going to have a chance to make
- 37:53Speaker 6: an impact on this team. And yeah, some of them are.
- 37:57Speaker 6: Some of them are here right now, and some of
- 37:59Speaker 6: them aren't too far way.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Is there a case where these guys haven't been around
- 38:06Speaker 2: and just like you said, this team has gotten more
- 38:10Speaker 2: with they've won more games, they started to play better.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Is there a case where one of those guys that
- 38:16Speaker 2: you're talking about maybe doesn't quite fit into what's happening here?
- 38:20Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 38:20Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I actually I omitted Zach Allen and
- 38:24Speaker 6: all right, I would think that's that's another that's the
- 38:27Speaker 6: guy that could fit into that that exact description.
- 38:29Speaker 4: Guryel as well.
- 38:30Speaker 6: I don't know, you know, they they they still have
- 38:35Speaker 6: Max Kepler and and Lars Newbar on this roster. Walschmit's
- 38:39Speaker 6: been playing great. Lawler has been very good.
- 38:41Speaker 1: One healthy.
- 38:43Speaker 6: I think there's ways to fit guys in, especially you
- 38:46Speaker 6: know when you get the extra spot in September. But yeah,
- 38:51Speaker 6: you you start kind of playing the numbers game, especially
- 38:54Speaker 6: on the pitching side, and you kind of wonder how
- 38:56Speaker 6: these pieces are all gonna fit, that's for sure.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Let's talk a little Sea geek right now and some
- 39:03Speaker 1: returns to the field in the mound. Carlos Rddan returns
- 39:07Speaker 1: tonight for the Yankees might be a ticket you want
- 39:09Speaker 1: to grab. If you want to see Zach Wheeler pitch
- 39:12Speaker 1: in Philadelphia, that could be a ticket that you want
- 39:14Speaker 1: to grab. Or Robbie Ray for the Padres against Zach Thornton,
- 39:18Speaker 1: who's been pitching well for the Mets. Mariners Brewers has
- 39:21Speaker 1: some juice to it. What else do we like or
- 39:23Speaker 1: do you like some of the ones I mentioned?
- 39:24Speaker 4: Well, give me a good seat at the Phillies game
- 39:28Speaker 4: tonight because Zack Wheeler's on my list, and I want
- 39:30Speaker 4: to be close enough where I could keep an eye
- 39:32Speaker 4: and make sure he keeps that toe on the rubber.
- 39:34Speaker 4: That's all I want. And I know Sea geek can
- 39:37Speaker 4: help me find a seat where I can just look right,
- 39:40Speaker 4: super close up, and I want to be able to
- 39:42Speaker 4: see the mound because you know, this guy's been cheating
- 39:45Speaker 4: for a long time, and I want to make sure
- 39:47Speaker 4: that he stays within the rules of the game.
- 39:49Speaker 2: You know, clip that clip that Zach Wheeler's been cheating
- 39:55Speaker 2: for a long time, says.
- 39:56Speaker 4: Yeah, right, I've been pitching the same way whole career,
- 40:00Speaker 4: and boy, he has he and it's ridiculous to me,
- 40:03Speaker 4: you know. And and you know, I'm pointing a little
- 40:06Speaker 4: fun at my own team, the team that I follow,
- 40:08Speaker 4: the Blue Jays, because they were the team that kind
- 40:10Speaker 4: of called him out on it. But it's crazy. It's
- 40:13Speaker 4: crazy because you know, we all try to gain an
- 40:15Speaker 4: edge from time to time a little bit too. But
- 40:17Speaker 4: he has been pitching that way for a long time.
- 40:19Speaker 4: This guy's not This guy is too good. He doesn't
- 40:21Speaker 4: need to cheat the game. That's basically what I'm saying.
- 40:23Speaker 4: He doesn't need to cheat any game, and he's.
- 40:25Speaker 7: Going to He's going off the side of the rubber,
- 40:28Speaker 7: not to get away from where I'm picking my seats,
- 40:30Speaker 7: but man, oh man, like he's going off the side
- 40:33Speaker 7: of the rubber Popkins, relax like your lefties.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Your lefties are going to struggle against Zach Wheeler. You
- 40:40Speaker 2: know why because he's been like a top five or
- 40:43Speaker 2: he's been a top three cy Young finisher like five times.
- 40:46Speaker 3: That's why they're going to struggle.
- 40:47Speaker 2: It's not like he's like getting a foot closer to
- 40:49Speaker 2: the rubber like a Randy Wolf for a or a
- 40:52Speaker 2: Michael Swimmer or you know guys who used to cheat
- 40:55Speaker 2: the system that Carter Cats used to jump at him.
- 41:02Speaker 1: He's on a league list.
- 41:03Speaker 2: After he the league the All Star Game, he gets
- 41:08Speaker 2: on the list.
- 41:09Speaker 3: You're on the list, Scott, You're on a list.
- 41:13Speaker 1: The only list I want to be on is click
- 41:15Speaker 1: the link of the description to download the seek gap.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Have the code automatically added to your account so you
- 41:20Speaker 1: can keep it on your list and use it later.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Because the code's territory ten. It's ten percent off MLB
- 41:25Speaker 1: tickets own seakeek one more for me on the team.
- 41:30Speaker 1: What changed with Edwardo Rodriguez this year? I know he's
- 41:32Speaker 1: had success in the past, but some a blame has
- 41:37Speaker 1: been placed on slow starts and even bad seasons for players.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Regarding the WBC, I feel like that was a jumping
- 41:44Speaker 1: off point for you.
- 41:45Speaker 3: The opposite.
- 41:46Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, it was the opposite. I it sort of
- 41:50Speaker 6: sounded like maybe his time throwing to Salvador Perez might
- 41:55Speaker 6: have might have made a big difference. You know, he's
- 41:58Speaker 6: he's kind of changed his pitch mix a little bit.
- 42:01Speaker 6: I know, he's using his change up a lot more.
- 42:05Speaker 6: Maybe he just, I don't know, needed to kind of
- 42:08Speaker 6: kind of have someone a different voice, kind of talking
- 42:10Speaker 6: through different ways to attack guys. We saw it in
- 42:14Speaker 6: that start against Team USA in March, and it just
- 42:17Speaker 6: felt like it's kind of rolled right through into the season.
- 42:21Speaker 6: And like you said, I mean, this is a guy
- 42:22Speaker 6: that's been a successful big league pitcher. Other than the
- 42:25Speaker 6: last couple of years. It's always seemed to me, at
- 42:28Speaker 6: least like when he's healthy, he's been good, right and
- 42:31Speaker 6: these last couple of years just that hasn't been the case.
- 42:34Speaker 6: And he's you know, even when he even when he's
- 42:37Speaker 6: had a couple of bad outings here and there recently,
- 42:39Speaker 6: he bounces back with a really good one the next time.
- 42:43Speaker 3: He's having a heck of a year.
- 42:45Speaker 6: It truly came out of nowhere. I mean, I was
- 42:48Speaker 6: asking questions probably around this time last year about you know,
- 42:53Speaker 6: is this guy gonna gonna last on his contract? Is
- 42:56Speaker 6: this a guy they're going to have to just cut
- 42:58Speaker 6: loose because it's just gone so poorly, And and now
- 43:02Speaker 6: you're you're looking at it and you're you're real glad
- 43:04Speaker 6: you have him, have him locked in for another year
- 43:06Speaker 6: next year.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Is there team MVP somebody that has no idea that
- 43:13Speaker 2: other than Diamondbacks fans is having a really good season
- 43:16Speaker 2: in Gabrielle Moreno, Yeah, that was.
- 43:18Speaker 6: Exactly the name I figured you were going. Yeah, he's
- 43:21Speaker 6: been unbelievable.
- 43:22Speaker 3: Man.
- 43:23Speaker 6: The the way that he swung that We've seen it
- 43:26Speaker 6: in stretches in the past for sure, but the I mean,
- 43:29Speaker 6: it's just been like two months just relentless, like tough
- 43:32Speaker 6: at thats line, drives to all fields, occasional power.
- 43:37Speaker 3: He's been terrific.
- 43:38Speaker 6: And we again like we we knew it's in there,
- 43:41Speaker 6: you know, the way he was talked about as a
- 43:43Speaker 6: as a prospect coming up. If this isn't like a surprise,
- 43:47Speaker 6: but I just think it's probably a combination of things, Like,
- 43:51Speaker 6: you know, he's had trouble staying healthy in the past,
- 43:54Speaker 6: and then just look at catchers man. I mean it
- 43:56Speaker 6: takes it often takes catchers a hundred styles of the
- 44:00Speaker 6: bats in the big leagues because they have so much
- 44:02Speaker 6: on their plate to really fully develop on the offensive side.
- 44:07Speaker 6: And I think we're starting to see that with Gabby.
- 44:10Speaker 3: Nick.
- 44:11Speaker 1: This was great, thanks for jumping on with us. Really
- 44:13Speaker 1: good info and you know, fans looking for answers here
- 44:16Speaker 1: on the KTEL stuff. I think at least learned a
- 44:18Speaker 1: little bit more of the backstory and we'll see what
- 44:19Speaker 1: happens from here on out. But you can follow Nick
- 44:21Speaker 1: at nick pie co Ro on Twitter x and then
- 44:25Speaker 1: also you can follow him in the Arizona Republic all
- 44:28Speaker 1: his articles there. Appreciate you, Nick, good talking to you.
- 44:30Speaker 6: Yeah, guys, thanks for having me.
- 44:32Speaker 1: I'm just browsing around some other happenings for me. Yesterday,
- 44:35Speaker 1: Ellie de la Cruz his first career walk off. I
- 44:37Speaker 1: was actually surprised he had not had a walk off before.
- 44:40Speaker 1: That was after Dane Meyers hit a tying pitch hit
- 44:42Speaker 1: home run. You know, that's in Red's Cardinals. We'll start
- 44:45Speaker 1: to pay a little less attention to some of the
- 44:46Speaker 1: teams that are not really in his Cardinals aren't out out,
- 44:50Speaker 1: but for the Reds, they fell off. As for the
- 44:54Speaker 1: ALE wildcard, guys, here's where we're at. Three teams tied
- 44:57Speaker 1: for the third spot, sixty one and sixty four. Yes,
- 45:00Speaker 1: with this deep into the season and there are three
- 45:02Speaker 1: teams three games under dinner time for that spot. Plus
- 45:05Speaker 1: KP seven teams are within two games of each other
- 45:07Speaker 1: in that little race.
- 45:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, the only thing, it's crazy. There's a
- 45:13Speaker 4: lot of great players in the game that just don't
- 45:16Speaker 4: have walkoff hits, and there's some players that were just
- 45:18Speaker 4: very mediocre that have a ton. It's just the opportunity
- 45:21Speaker 4: has to present itself, and to be honest, it doesn't
- 45:24Speaker 4: present itself as and as you think. But congrats to him.
- 45:28Speaker 4: And in terms of the AL East or not the
- 45:30Speaker 4: AL East, the American League wildcard spot, I really truly
- 45:34Speaker 4: believe this is gonna come down to the final day
- 45:37Speaker 4: of the season. There's gonna be multiple scenarios. I could
- 45:39Speaker 4: even see a scenario and I don't know how all
- 45:42Speaker 4: the tie breakers work outside of your division stuff, but
- 45:44Speaker 4: I could even see a scenario where there's a one
- 45:46Speaker 4: game playoff of one to sixty three because none of
- 45:49Speaker 4: these teams in this kind of cluster in the middle
- 45:53Speaker 4: of really shown the ability to separate themselves. You know,
- 45:56Speaker 4: we just talked about Baltimore what they've been able to
- 45:58Speaker 4: do offensively. They've been turning around. Toronto's been pitching great,
- 46:02Speaker 4: They've been getting timely hitting. You know. Detroit kind of
- 46:04Speaker 4: went on their run as it sustainable. Texas just can't
- 46:07Speaker 4: really get out of its own way, you know. And
- 46:09Speaker 4: you just never could really count out the Guardians. And
- 46:11Speaker 4: then sure enough Seattle Mariners. If you would ask me
- 46:15Speaker 4: a week ago, I thought they had no shot. But
- 46:16Speaker 4: here they come.
- 46:19Speaker 3: I scored on one of KP's walk off there.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Hey, some returns from the il Mike call Garcia Vinie
- 46:30Speaker 1: pas Quentino. That's two of their what top four ish
- 46:34Speaker 1: hitters coming back for the Royals. They're not in it,
- 46:37Speaker 1: but just saying their back rows about a rough season.
- 46:40Speaker 3: KP.
- 46:40Speaker 1: They never really in this thing. They fell out quick, no, and.
- 46:44Speaker 4: You look on paper, this is a team that's probably
- 46:46Speaker 4: one of the most disappointing teams of the year. I
- 46:49Speaker 4: felt like they were going to be a playoff team.
- 46:51Speaker 4: But they do have a factor in the playoff race
- 46:55Speaker 4: in the American League. I know they still especially within
- 46:57Speaker 4: their division. This team getting healthy can definitely it's gonna
- 47:02Speaker 4: be tough competition for anyone who has to play him
- 47:04Speaker 4: down the stretch. I know they're not playing for much,
- 47:06Speaker 4: but you know, win healthy. They got a great lineup
- 47:09Speaker 4: and good pitching.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Yeah, they kept Waka and Lugo Chras. They didn't trade
- 47:14Speaker 1: them away. They want them both for next year. They
- 47:16Speaker 1: lost Reagan's early on this season too, but they wanted
- 47:19Speaker 1: to make sure that they got the betteran innings lined
- 47:21Speaker 1: up for next year. You want to take advantage of
- 47:23Speaker 1: Bobby Wood Junior's prime.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he's got quite a bit of prime
- 47:28Speaker 2: left to go. He's he's got MVP season. I don't
- 47:30Speaker 2: think it's panic at the disco. I love what the
- 47:33Speaker 2: Royals have done in the sense that they're pushing in
- 47:37Speaker 2: They want to get a new stadium, so they're pushing.
- 47:39Speaker 2: You know, this roster is built to win. But when
- 47:41Speaker 2: you lose. One hundred RBIs from Vinnie Pasmentino. When you
- 47:45Speaker 2: lose I was just looking up what Michel did last year,
- 47:49Speaker 2: like forty to thirty nine doubles, sixteen homers, eight hundred
- 47:54Speaker 2: ops in his breakout year Gold Glove. That's tough that's
- 47:58Speaker 2: tough when you just can't You can't replace Cole Reagan's
- 48:01Speaker 2: was a top three cy young guy like you can't
- 48:03Speaker 2: replace it. So they need these last few months to
- 48:06Speaker 2: build to next year.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Hey, one more game to recap from last night. Patre
- 48:13Speaker 1: has been playing some pretty good ball lately, but KP
- 48:15Speaker 1: it had to make you smile, and they just kept
- 48:17Speaker 1: testing Carson Benge and this team runs really aggressively, but
- 48:20Speaker 1: you're looking at them beating up on Nolan McLean and
- 48:23Speaker 1: they just can't figure it out on the bases or
- 48:24Speaker 1: they're getting gunned down and then they couldn't score, so
- 48:27Speaker 1: they actually lost two to one.
- 48:29Speaker 4: Well, maybe that's why they kept sending guys is because
- 48:33Speaker 4: they knew it's tough to score off McLean and it's
- 48:35Speaker 4: also really difficult to throw out runners at home plate.
- 48:38Speaker 4: So I think you've got to give a lot of
- 48:39Speaker 4: credit to the defense of the New York Mets and
- 48:42Speaker 4: making strong, accurate throws. But there also is this element
- 48:46Speaker 4: of adapting throughout the game as a third base coach.
- 48:49Speaker 4: When it's happening multiple times and they've proven to you
- 48:52Speaker 4: that day they got good arm and very accurate that day.
- 48:56Speaker 4: Sometimes you got to hold them up a little bit too.
- 48:59Speaker 2: He did held up Xander the technically a fourth victim.
- 49:03Speaker 2: The first victim was at the plate, but he held
- 49:05Speaker 2: up Xander. He was standing like this, and Xander just
- 49:09Speaker 2: went on by. And I forget who the first person
- 49:12Speaker 2: was that got thrown out. Terrible route, oh, Jake Cruminworth,
- 49:17Speaker 2: terrible route around the base. Shouldn't have sent him, I
- 49:20Speaker 2: get it. But I think the one throw from Carson
- 49:22Speaker 2: Bingch was like one hundred and three or something, one
- 49:24Speaker 2: hundred and two point three something.
- 49:26Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Walker Buehler was pissed about it or something. He was
- 49:31Speaker 1: pissed about something, and you know fans were going crazy
- 49:33Speaker 1: after him. He's pissing the dugout Walker Buler gets pissed
- 49:36Speaker 1: all the time. Do you think that he was like
- 49:37Speaker 1: crossing the line. I couldn't tell. Is he yelling at
- 49:39Speaker 1: somebody or is he just yelling at general?
- 49:43Speaker 4: I didn't see it personally. I mean, I know Walker
- 49:45Speaker 4: from my time with the Dodgers. He's just very competitive.
- 49:48Speaker 4: He probably was reacting the same way we're reacting to now.
- 49:51Speaker 4: He was like, hey, make an adjustment, Like he's rolling
- 49:53Speaker 4: guys out. He wants to win. He wants to get
- 49:55Speaker 4: back to the postseason. This is a big part of
- 49:58Speaker 4: and maybe there's some selfishness in it with Walker because
- 50:01Speaker 4: he's a guy who turned down a lot of money,
- 50:03Speaker 4: hasn't been able to kind of recoup that. He's having
- 50:05Speaker 4: a great year, and what better time to really shine
- 50:08Speaker 4: is getting back to the postseason. So I mean, all
- 50:10Speaker 4: these kind of factors could come in, but more than anything,
- 50:12Speaker 4: he's just a really competitive guy. Probably wants to win.
- 50:16Speaker 4: He's on the mound, wants to run support. So I
- 50:18Speaker 4: didn't see it firsthand, but just knowing him, I imagine
- 50:21Speaker 4: that's probably what's going through his brain.
- 50:24Speaker 2: Competitor, that's it. Competitors yell. There was a ground ball
- 50:29Speaker 2: to write field. I should say this that neither the
- 50:32Speaker 2: first basement or the second baseman do for and it
- 50:36Speaker 2: would have kept the ball in the infield. It was
- 50:38Speaker 2: like everybody reached for it and nobody gets it, and
- 50:41Speaker 2: it was like, ah, what we got to knock that down.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Hey, For those of you that are on your phone,

- 52:13Speaker 1: BA crew. We got some news right before the show started.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Trey Mancini, who was a great story in his major
- 52:20Speaker 1: league career and even was able to get himself back
- 52:22Speaker 1: into the bigs this season, thirty four years old, eight seasons,
- 52:25Speaker 1: calling it a career comeback Player of the Year in
- 52:27Speaker 1: twenty twenty one after battling colon cancer in twenty twenty
- 52:30Speaker 1: has a World Series title under his belt. Played for
- 52:32Speaker 1: the O's, Astros, Cubs, and Angels. So hat tip to him, right, guys,
- 52:36Speaker 1: You guys know and faced him.
- 52:41Speaker 4: Yeah right, you know, he was in Baltimore when I
- 52:44Speaker 4: came up. He got off to a great start in
- 52:46Speaker 4: his career. Everything he's overcoming his career obviously, someone has
- 52:50Speaker 4: to do with cancer, especially at a young age, you know,
- 52:52Speaker 4: living his dream of being a major League baseball player.
- 52:55Speaker 4: To be able to overcome that, be able to come
- 52:57Speaker 4: back and get an opportunity to play in the Major league.
- 53:00Speaker 4: Incredible story, very inspiring for a lot of people, old, young.
- 53:05Speaker 4: You know what he's been able to do in his career,
- 53:09Speaker 4: and good for him. You know, I know it didn't
- 53:11Speaker 4: last very long and he actually was putting up some
- 53:12Speaker 4: pretty good numbers with the Angels when he got back
- 53:15Speaker 4: to the big leagues this year. But you know, a
- 53:17Speaker 4: chance to come back get some hits in the big
- 53:20Speaker 4: leagues again after everything he was able to go through.
- 53:23Speaker 4: No shame hanging them up. Wonderful career. You know, whether
- 53:27Speaker 4: you play one day in the big leagues or you
- 53:29Speaker 4: play one hundred years in the major leagues, it's an
- 53:31Speaker 4: accomplishment to get there, and to get there kind of
- 53:33Speaker 4: twice in his career. Congrats on a great career.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Hey, The tarps off phenomenon has taken over the entire
- 53:41Speaker 1: season in many outfields and many unfortunate situations where you know,
- 53:45Speaker 1: a girlfriend goes to the park and then she's like,
- 53:48Speaker 1: where did my boyfriend go? And he has his shirt
- 53:50Speaker 1: off in the outfield. So this is positive development. Kratz
- 53:55Speaker 1: as we had some creativity here last night in Pittsburgh.
- 53:58Speaker 1: They formed a Pittsburgh Peak or a Pirates pee in
- 54:01Speaker 1: the outfield and left.
- 54:03Speaker 3: That is creative.
- 54:05Speaker 2: I was at the Phillies game last night, started to
- 54:07Speaker 2: rain and the tarps off crew started to get bigger
- 54:10Speaker 2: and bigger, not in my section, but across the way,
- 54:14Speaker 2: breaking news. Philly's security shut it down. I have seen
- 54:20Speaker 2: the tarp crew, the tarps off crew shut down before
- 54:25Speaker 2: in a stadium, but they tried it. I know some
- 54:28Speaker 2: of the boys on my team wanted to head over there,
- 54:30Speaker 2: but they never made it over.
- 54:32Speaker 1: That would be a tarp's on situation. Okay, let's finish
- 54:36Speaker 1: with this. We got a couple of minutes to go,
- 54:38Speaker 1: and Brandon Fodd is pitching on Wednesday, so we won't
- 54:41Speaker 1: have time to talk about him on Wednesday show. He'll
- 54:42Speaker 1: be pitching kind of during our show. Did want to
- 54:44Speaker 1: give him some love. He's got a long scoreless streak
- 54:46Speaker 1: going on. So here's our Sneak's Territory Show, part of
- 54:49Speaker 1: the FT Network, to take us out for the last
- 54:52Speaker 1: couple of minutes. Here on a guy who is highly regarded.
- 54:54Speaker 1: It's been through ups and downs, but he's roaring right now.
- 54:57Speaker 1: So watch this for two minutes. We'll see everyone else
- 54:59Speaker 1: on Wednday Day or check out baseball America Hot Sheet.
- 55:03Speaker 9: You know, I spoke to Tory about it, and the
- 55:06Speaker 9: way he described it was, you know, well, first Jeremy
- 55:09Speaker 9: Blisch and Brian Kaplan, oh and do the other coaches,
- 55:13Speaker 9: They kind of create a game plan of what they
- 55:17Speaker 9: want a picture to work on. Sometimes they have very
- 55:20Speaker 9: specific things. Sometimes they're not really sure and they just
- 55:23Speaker 9: you know, want the guy to go down and figure
- 55:25Speaker 9: it out. But in Brandon's case, they had some thoughts
- 55:27Speaker 9: and specific things that they wanted him to work on.
- 55:31Speaker 9: But you know, when Brandon went down there, you know,
- 55:34Speaker 9: first and foremost he was working with guys that had
- 55:37Speaker 9: worked before, worked with before. He worked with Doug Drabek
- 55:40Speaker 9: and Jeff Bagenaro as he was coming up through the system.
- 55:43Speaker 9: So there's a familiality there. And you know, what Brandon
- 55:46Speaker 9: told me was that he really, you know, knows that
- 55:50Speaker 9: Dreybik knows his stuff, right. He's the old school guy,
- 55:54Speaker 9: you know, former Major league pitcher from way back, very
- 55:57Speaker 9: knowledgeable and so just socking up his knowledge and Jeff
- 56:01Speaker 9: Bagenaro's kind of more new school and helping him with
- 56:05Speaker 9: you know, the analytics side of pitch movement and design
- 56:09Speaker 9: and so forth. So the two of them make a
- 56:12Speaker 9: really good pairing, and between that and the chemistry that
- 56:16Speaker 9: Brandon already had with them, they were able to get
- 56:19Speaker 9: right into it and dive in. They made a few tweaks,
- 56:22Speaker 9: and we know about you know, not putt in the
- 56:24Speaker 9: hands above the head. I think they were moved to
- 56:26Speaker 9: the other side of the rubber. There probably were a
- 56:28Speaker 9: couple other things, but it was mostly about getting Brandon
- 56:32Speaker 9: back in the comfort zone of doing what he does best,
- 56:35Speaker 9: which was get back in the zone. There's also some
- 56:38Speaker 9: adjustments to the pitch arsenal in sequencing and what they're
- 56:43Speaker 9: using more against right e's and lefties. They made a
- 56:46Speaker 9: few changes there. So putting all of that together, you know,
- 56:50Speaker 9: it just really helped. So, you know, Jeff Bagenaro and
- 56:53Speaker 9: Doug Dreybeck, they deserve a lot of credit for helping
- 56:56Speaker 9: him both in executing the plan that was passed from
- 57:00Speaker 9: the major league staff as well as you know, working
- 57:03Speaker 9: together with Brandon to fine tune it. But ultimately it's
- 57:06Speaker 9: Brandon fought to have the humility to go down there
- 57:10Speaker 9: to make the changes and come back not only better
- 57:14Speaker 9: than ever, but you know, come back cy young quality.
- 57:17Speaker 9: This is amazing stuff.
- 57:19Speaker 1: And also you might have a parlay boost token in
- 57:21Speaker 1: your bed MGM account. Build your parlay, go for a big,
- 57:24Speaker 1: memorable moment. Activate that token on any MLB parlay, and
