- 0:49Speaker 1: And coming to you live from Tonnay's basement apartment, where
- 0:53Speaker 1: we are going to redo episode one twenty one due
- 0:57Speaker 1: to uh someone's drunkenness and audio glitch in the system
- 1:04Speaker 1: in sports allegedly.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. Who was that crazy guest? Who is
- 1:09Speaker 2: his drunkenness? Thanks for joining us on this fourth day
- 1:12Speaker 2: of June to five.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I don't know, but he's spent on me and his
- 1:16Speaker 3: hands were all in my face.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Who talks with their hands these days? No, thanks for
- 1:21Speaker 2: joining us. Appreciate you listen, Appreciate anybody listens. Actually, we
- 1:24Speaker 2: just love to have a good time talk some sports
- 1:27Speaker 2: and we've got.
- 1:27Speaker 3: A little bit. We do this because it's a passion.
- 1:30Speaker 2: It is. It's not to make you know, we made
- 1:32Speaker 2: seven cents last year, month or year, so no, no,
- 1:37Speaker 2: it's it's just fun. It's our way of talking it
- 1:40Speaker 2: out with each other rather than talking it out with
- 1:42Speaker 2: just each other. So you know, we we have to
- 1:45Speaker 2: we have to give our spots, our props, our love,
- 1:49Speaker 2: our hate, our cussing.
- 1:51Speaker 4: We end up with a lot of our love.
- 1:54Speaker 3: We end up with a lot of text messages and
- 1:56Speaker 3: text message change the change, change all the time.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Yes, that is a fact.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Person get rid of people sports alleged late to night
- 2:05Speaker 5: on this fourth it's one of those sports times a
- 2:07Speaker 5: year that we love, love, love, except except a bit
- 2:12Speaker 5: of mourning.
- 2:13Speaker 3: And in the last episode, we we did go over
- 2:15Speaker 3: the the the Akahoma City Thunder because that night they
- 2:19Speaker 3: had just clinched.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Yes, we stayed up late, fired off.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Of late yeah, fired up the podlet, and we had
- 2:27Speaker 3: went through the last three games of the Thunder before winning.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Uh So, I don't think there's any need to talk
- 2:34Speaker 3: thunder tonight.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Squeeze me.
- 2:39Speaker 4: That's exactly what we're gonna.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Talk is bigger, the bigger, The bigger news story is
- 2:45Speaker 3: you know, Pacers and the Knicks, especially the Knicks firing
- 2:50Speaker 3: their coach after rebuilding the team. And we'll listen to
- 2:54Speaker 3: some stuff later about Thibodeau and him being fired.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Now, so as we kind of try to do at
- 3:02Speaker 2: the beginning of the show, we'll kind of highlight we're gonak,
- 3:04Speaker 2: we're gonn talk little hockey because it's obviously Stanley Cup.
- 3:08Speaker 2: It's into the second three to two, so it's a
- 3:10Speaker 2: close game, Panthers leading Oilers. We just finished that. Well,
- 3:14Speaker 2: we're gonna do a short pod tonight to finish up that. Also,
- 3:19Speaker 2: Women's UH World Series started tonight. Currently, Sean, you got
- 3:24Speaker 2: that pulled up, it's one nothing.
- 3:25Speaker 4: I think right.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Had a horrible, horrible, horrible obstruction call in that game
- 3:33Speaker 2: did benefit Texas Tech later scored a run off a
- 3:37Speaker 2: hit in that inning. So currently right now looks like
- 3:40Speaker 2: one to nothing. Okay, ye get that.
- 3:45Speaker 3: I had had to do a camera too far.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Obviously, obviously we're gonna talk about obviously we're gonna talk
- 3:52Speaker 2: about the thunder and uh, we'll close that out. But
- 3:55Speaker 2: Sean did mention an interesting coaching fire tonight. A lot of.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Bottom at bottom of the six nut bottom six.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Naja Kennedy could have should have came to Oklahoma.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Well, I mean, if she wins it herself, didn't matter
- 4:07Speaker 2: where she went.
- 4:08Speaker 3: So well she she finally so listening I was listening
- 4:15Speaker 3: to it on the radio whenever you lost to Texas Tech.
- 4:19Speaker 3: And the announcer said that they finally slayed the dragon.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Well they didn't slay the dragon. Well, they just they
- 4:26Speaker 3: they finally just beat Oklahoma had already had one loss.
- 4:29Speaker 2: They made a comment to about and defeating the dynasty
- 4:33Speaker 2: or some baloney like that.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Right, but you oh it's one one now there we
- 4:38Speaker 3: go Texas scores and that it was two to one
- 4:41Speaker 3: and the ball game's over probably too she said that
- 4:44Speaker 3: earlier when it was one.
- 4:45Speaker 4: I thought so.
- 4:45Speaker 3: So the the the thing was is that that you know, oh,
- 4:48Speaker 3: you had finally slay Texas Tech and Naja Kennedy. You
- 4:51Speaker 3: finally slayed the dragon. They owe your dragon. And I
- 4:54Speaker 3: was like, well, they didn't because they didn't beat them twice.
- 4:57Speaker 3: They only beat him once. Oh, you had lost earlier
- 5:02Speaker 3: to Texas the day before, and they when when I
- 5:06Speaker 3: woke up for that game, it was tied two to
- 5:08Speaker 3: two and then ends up being four to two when
- 5:10Speaker 3: I get to work.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Well, and I'm sure this has benefited ou in the past.
- 5:13Speaker 2: And but Patty Gasso did come out and say, you know, hey,
- 5:17Speaker 2: we shouldn't be doing double headers to go into the
- 5:20Speaker 2: championship series.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Two days later.
- 5:23Speaker 2: You know, why are they just rest them start the
- 5:26Speaker 2: series Thursday Friday Saturday rather than Wednesday Thursday Friday.
- 5:29Speaker 4: You could rest do a game the next day and
- 5:31Speaker 4: then just wait, an.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Does doesn't the Baseball World Series? Don't they do that?
- 5:36Speaker 3: It's tough, don't I don't know. College do they have
- 5:40Speaker 3: a little time rest there before they get.
- 5:42Speaker 2: To think Gas and oh you and oh you coaches
- 5:45Speaker 2: or college coaches and Gas are the only ones that
- 5:47Speaker 2: really know those rules. I don't even know if you
- 5:49Speaker 2: could talk to a pretty good baseball fan and go,
- 5:51Speaker 2: oh yeah, it's gonna go this way, and this is
- 5:52Speaker 2: how they bracken them here, you know, because they.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Go to the super regional. It sounds like it changes.
- 5:56Speaker 2: They go to super regionals now then they go to
- 5:58Speaker 2: Omaha and that's the fire.
- 6:00Speaker 3: But it seems like it seems like the way that
- 6:02Speaker 3: college softball college baseball are set up, it seems to
- 6:05Speaker 3: change year to year. You know what I mean? Oh,
- 6:10Speaker 3: I think it's it's not always the same, not softball.
- 6:12Speaker 2: They've tried to they've done that doubleheader before and I'm
- 6:15Speaker 2: saying and I'm hey, it's probably benefited oh you, no
- 6:17Speaker 2: doubt in the past. I'm not saying it has it
- 6:20Speaker 2: and I'm not bitching about it this year hurting us
- 6:22Speaker 2: at all.
- 6:23Speaker 4: We didn't win game one. But it's also it's.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Probably more of a it's probably more of a negative
- 6:29Speaker 2: for the team that comes in undefeated Tech or Texas
- 6:33Speaker 2: and this goes with they just happen to win game one.
- 6:35Speaker 3: This this also goes into effect with the professional sports.
- 6:38Speaker 3: You know, you got a team playing seven games, and
- 6:40Speaker 3: you got another team that goes four and out or
- 6:43Speaker 3: three or five and out, and they get there, so
- 6:46Speaker 3: they have all this rest and.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Oh you're talking about you're talking about series like hockey, basketball. Well, see,
- 6:52Speaker 2: to me, that's their own fault. This setup is a
- 6:57Speaker 2: little different because it requires even if you are undefeated
- 7:02Speaker 2: or just one loss, you still or if you're undefeated,
- 7:05Speaker 2: you had the you had the benefit so resting early,
- 7:08Speaker 2: but you still got to play a double header.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Right. So you look at the White Sox when they
- 7:11Speaker 3: won they won the World Series. They had beat every
- 7:14Speaker 3: team up until they got.
- 7:16Speaker 2: And still play baseball. I hear these days kind of well.
- 7:19Speaker 3: They're getting better. At least they're not Colorado, which I
- 7:22Speaker 3: do like Colorado. Uh, they had won every series and
- 7:27Speaker 3: had this rest, and then they got to the Angels.
- 7:29Speaker 3: And the Angels had came off a game seven and
- 7:32Speaker 3: immediately turn around, but they're playing again and they losed
- 7:36Speaker 3: one game. They lost one game that that whole playoffs
- 7:38Speaker 3: and that was too that was to the Angels. We
- 7:41Speaker 3: just came on a tournament.
- 7:42Speaker 2: But the difference in that though.
- 7:44Speaker 3: To being cooled off and you know, rest versus differ
- 7:47Speaker 3: in that they took care of business.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Texas and Texas Tech took care of business and went
- 7:51Speaker 2: undefeated through the first rounds of the playoffs and still
- 7:55Speaker 2: was faced with a double head, which.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Was still quite surprising for Tennessee. Who does have the
- 8:00Speaker 3: best picture or a legend best picture I think is
- 8:05Speaker 3: the best picture.
- 8:05Speaker 2: But they did, they did, They did pick up Tennessee's
- 8:08Speaker 2: pitchers being one of the best. Nause I still think
- 8:10Speaker 2: was the best.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Nause is the best because she can she can do it.
- 8:15Speaker 3: The other girl was just fast, Like they kept measuring
- 8:19Speaker 3: all her all of her pitches and they were all
- 8:20Speaker 3: like seventy five, seventy six, which is fine, but you
- 8:24Speaker 3: gotta have you gotta have, you gotta variation and you're pitching.
- 8:30Speaker 3: You can't just be pitching the same well pickings.
- 8:32Speaker 2: But I mean, you look at Sam for Ou, I mean,
- 8:34Speaker 2: how many games did she have to pitch?
- 8:36Speaker 4: I mean that's the one well she.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Ended up coming in. Uh what name did we win
- 8:39Speaker 3: that she ended up having to come in? They let
- 8:41Speaker 3: the girl starting pitcher lasted what two innings, three innings,
- 8:45Speaker 3: and then Landry ended up having to come in and
- 8:48Speaker 3: finish out the game.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yes, in one of those games.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I don't think she had to finish, but she just did. Now.
- 8:56Speaker 4: The one thing about that though, was.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Just a little negativity, justative about softball. I really I'm
- 9:07Speaker 2: surprised we haven't had more homegrown pitching talent in the
- 9:12Speaker 2: past couple of years. I want to know, Kelly Maxwell
- 9:17Speaker 2: saved her reer last year, sam let us, she was
- 9:23Speaker 2: our ace this year.
- 9:24Speaker 4: She's a portal. And I understand.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Softball and softball you have one main pitcher and then
- 9:32Speaker 3: there's the.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Rest, yes for your team, but could you imagine having
- 9:36Speaker 2: like oh you did kind of. I mean, obviously was
- 9:39Speaker 2: a recruit and they've had other ones before that. And
- 9:43Speaker 2: she left for the right reasons.
- 9:46Speaker 3: She had her title, she wanted to go home too,
- 9:48Speaker 3: and yeah, she just wanted to go home.
- 9:51Speaker 4: But like I said, she left for the right reasons.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I'm not discounting her for that, but I'm saying it
- 9:56Speaker 2: seems like the last two years I really would have
- 9:58Speaker 2: liked a little bit that are recruiting for the pitching
- 10:01Speaker 2: now to say that current staff coming in and That
- 10:05Speaker 2: was the point about Tech and the commentators of whoever
- 10:08Speaker 2: saying they've stepped on the dynasty or whatever dynasty joke.
- 10:11Speaker 2: That was number one overall player is an outfielder. She's
- 10:16Speaker 2: coming in Kai minor, Alyssa Parker. He's the number one pitcher,
- 10:20Speaker 2: number over two, Lexi McDaniel, number one infield. She's number
- 10:23Speaker 2: three over five, I mean, hold on, Kenda Wells, number
- 10:27Speaker 2: one catcher, she's fifth overall. This is this coming class
- 10:31Speaker 2: Berkeley Zac. She's a four star, she's five, the number
- 10:34Speaker 2: five pitcher, thirteen overall. This is when I say overall,
- 10:37Speaker 2: this isn't State, it's Nation and Sophia Boardy fifth pitcher
- 10:42Speaker 2: and she's eleven overall. Now they all won't pan out.
- 10:46Speaker 3: What I got to say about this dynasty issue is, oh,
- 10:49Speaker 3: you still made it to the finals.
- 10:52Speaker 2: It's nuts. It's no.
- 10:54Speaker 5: One.
- 10:54Speaker 3: So there is no exactly You.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Didn't step on anything, you didn't crush anything. You just
- 10:59Speaker 2: want a game. And that's what softball is. How many
- 11:02Speaker 2: of those games has oh you won over the years,
- 11:05Speaker 2: even in their title run that you kind of think
- 11:07Speaker 2: and I thought they're down, they're not gonna make it boom.
- 11:12Speaker 4: It's like it just happened.
- 11:14Speaker 2: They want it, They just didn't put it together and
- 11:16Speaker 2: they were close. They tied it up late, and they
- 11:20Speaker 2: just they're timely. Like I said, timely hitting.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Missed these last few podcasts.
- 11:30Speaker 2: You know it really is is your timely hitting. And
- 11:32Speaker 2: softball is so important. Have a stud pitcher if you
- 11:36Speaker 2: got to even better. Timely hitting is.
- 11:39Speaker 3: So intense in baseball as well.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Yeah, but I mean, but baseball is such a longer
- 11:46Speaker 2: drawn out process. Fields, bigger bases, wider, more pitchers come in.
- 11:52Speaker 2: You got a stud or two stud pitcher and you've
- 11:55Speaker 2: got timely hitting. You will.
- 11:59Speaker 3: They were like, is no relievers in college baseball? Everybody
- 12:03Speaker 3: was a starter. You didn't become a reliever until you
- 12:06Speaker 3: went to the MLB.
- 12:08Speaker 4: That's correct. They've changed that up.
- 12:10Speaker 3: They've changed that now and now you have relievers that
- 12:12Speaker 3: and I'm like, what's wrong with you guys?
- 12:14Speaker 2: Well, I don't think there's anything wrong, no, no, no,
- 12:17Speaker 2: But what I think it is is I think that
- 12:19Speaker 2: these pitchers find these niches that just sometimes mentally, it's
- 12:25Speaker 2: not only just physically, sometimes it's mentally. You just come in,
- 12:29Speaker 2: name a guy, he starts, maybe his emotions or too
- 12:31Speaker 2: much gives up early.
- 12:32Speaker 4: He's toast. That happens. You name a guy that's down
- 12:35Speaker 4: five or up by one.
- 12:38Speaker 2: He's up by one, he's down by five, he just pitches.
- 12:42Speaker 2: And I think a lot of that's mental. I'm not
- 12:45Speaker 2: never been a pitcher. I can't tell you that. I'm
- 12:47Speaker 2: just looking from the outside end. I think a lot
- 12:48Speaker 2: of that's mental. I don't think it's so much as
- 12:50Speaker 2: more as physical now of an injury.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Well, and we all know about how mental baseball is
- 12:55Speaker 3: because we've all seen Bull Durham. That is true, the greatest,
- 13:01Speaker 3: one of the greatest baseball movies, probably the greatest baseball
- 13:03Speaker 3: movie of all time.
- 13:04Speaker 2: So you falls after four years five peet didn't happen.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Was no surprise, and I will admit they made it
- 13:12Speaker 2: farther than I thought they would.
- 13:13Speaker 3: We weren't beat by the same team twice.
- 13:14Speaker 2: No, it's it's That's what I'm saying. There should be
- 13:17Speaker 2: no disappointment on that Patty Gasso. I heard she was
- 13:19Speaker 2: like sixty three and three against her.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Assistance. Let me tell me only and the only person
- 13:27Speaker 3: that's beat he is the guy in Florida.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Maybe at that point, let me make a prediction. Now,
- 13:32Speaker 2: they win it next year, and I think they win it.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Well, I know you get one hundred dollars, so.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Off the loss.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I didn't want to bet that, but I mean it
- 13:41Speaker 2: was obvious. It was a friendly wager. You know, we don't.
- 13:44Speaker 2: You did, Oklahoma still doesn't do I legal betting, So
- 13:47Speaker 2: it was a friendly It was one hundred ice cream
- 13:49Speaker 2: cones or something. That's what we'll call it. I want
- 13:52Speaker 2: a hundred ice.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Cream one hundred you know who I actually was. It's
- 13:56Speaker 3: a hundred casino tokenness.
- 13:58Speaker 2: No, it's ice cream cones because that's game link to you.
- 14:00Speaker 2: But that's legal gambling.
- 14:01Speaker 3: You can get talking.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Come on, GV, let's get this sports betting going.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Oh no, he's too busy poop in his pants, all right, so.
- 14:08Speaker 2: But no, let's play.
- 14:09Speaker 4: Let's play the We'll go to clip of Patty real quick.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Close.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Hopefully you guys can hear this. We'll play it real quick.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Should be.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Watch what happens when I turned this on for years?
- 14:21Speaker 2: Mosquito's ruined my tried finish.
- 14:26Speaker 3: No, I'm not paying for YouTube TV. Twenty four minutes.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Oh my god, Well I'm sorry.
- 14:44Speaker 3: I can go back and see how long this one? Okay,
- 14:46Speaker 3: this is a minute fifth thank you, but this is
- 14:48Speaker 3: after the legendary ron you were talking about the one
- 14:50Speaker 3: that I have one.
- 15:00Speaker 2: And no sound.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Oh that's not me.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Well well, well let's just skip this clip since we're
- 15:06Speaker 2: going to dead air now, can you not put the
- 15:08Speaker 2: volume button?
- 15:10Speaker 6: That I haven't felt this in a while, so no
- 15:16Speaker 6: one's feeling so Championships.
- 15:18Speaker 7: I know there'll be time to reflect, but this is
- 15:19Speaker 7: one of those moments where you don't.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Cry because it's over, but smile because of what happened.
- 15:25Speaker 6: Yes, I haven't felt this in a while, so no
- 15:31Speaker 6: one's feeling sorry for me about that.
- 15:34Speaker 8: I'm sure. I don't know.
- 15:36Speaker 6: It's hard to talk about. I'm really excited for the future,
- 15:43Speaker 6: but it's really really pumped for sid Sanders to have
- 15:47Speaker 6: her best soop of when it was needed and to
- 15:50Speaker 6: finish that way. Tonight was a tough night for Sam Landry.
- 15:56Speaker 6: A lot of emotions for her because of her connection
- 16:00Speaker 6: to Louisiana and now they'm all at Texas Tech. So
- 16:06Speaker 6: it's really proud of her because that could have really
- 16:08Speaker 6: been a very tough situation and she made it. She
- 16:13Speaker 6: handled it really really well.
- 16:15Speaker 8: There was a lot of.
- 16:15Speaker 6: Emotions going on for her, as you could have already heard.
- 16:19Speaker 6: So it's just it's hard to lose. This was the
- 16:24Speaker 6: most enjoyable season I've had in a long time, and
- 16:29Speaker 6: says coaches really feel that everybody kind of jumped on
- 16:33Speaker 6: board with us. They believed in what we were saying.
- 16:37Speaker 6: They carried on the championship mindset. They grinded on the
- 16:41Speaker 6: field every single day, and there's some future superstars on
- 16:47Speaker 6: this team, and I'm really excited about that.
- 16:49Speaker 8: But they had to grow through.
- 16:52Speaker 6: Sid Sanders and some of these others that have been
- 16:55Speaker 6: around Ella Parker. We're still going to be a young
- 16:59Speaker 6: team next year, but their ability to believe has been
- 17:04Speaker 6: unbelievable this season.
- 17:07Speaker 2: There you go from Pettigasso and her closing some of
- 17:10Speaker 2: her closing statements after the loss three two loss to
- 17:14Speaker 2: Texas Tech. She's right, they're young still, They're going to
- 17:17Speaker 2: be better next year and get some pitching in there,
- 17:21Speaker 2: bring in some bring in some of this young talent.
- 17:24Speaker 2: And oh, I think they're going to be very hungry
- 17:28Speaker 2: next year. Oh yeah, the revenge, the taste of the
- 17:32Speaker 2: feet is going to be pretty pretty interesting. All right,
- 17:36Speaker 2: Let's move on. Let's check up on the hockey game
- 17:39Speaker 2: right now, getting ready to start the third It looks like, yeah, we're.
- 17:44Speaker 3: In the second intermission. Is that an update? Though?
- 17:47Speaker 2: What are we still in the intermission? Okay, we're still insion? Okay,
- 17:50Speaker 2: all right, so straight two.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Panthers over Oilers, and right now we're all rooted Oilers.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I do like the Panthers, and I rooted Panthers last year,
- 17:59Speaker 3: but now I'm kind of rooting for the Oilers. I
- 18:01Speaker 3: want David and d and all those guys to finally
- 18:05Speaker 3: get theirs.
- 18:06Speaker 2: All right, let's get to this.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Let's get to the meat.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Let's get to the thunder, the thunder, Let's do it.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Let's do it. Let's talk about the OKAC thunder. Well,
- 18:16Speaker 2: did you pick it at the beginning of the year. No,
- 18:18Speaker 2: we didn't. I'd love to go back and see who
- 18:20Speaker 2: we picked. I probably picked Boston, and I think it.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I think it was Boston.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Denver was very popular. Now we talked about this on
- 18:28Speaker 2: previous Spot podcasts. When Okay See played Denver that matchup,
- 18:33Speaker 2: I thought, God, that is the worst matchup to have.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Anybody else on the West was fine. I had no
- 18:40Speaker 2: problem playing anybody, and.
- 18:41Speaker 3: We went through we went through that and we went
- 18:44Speaker 3: from that loss that they endured, that bad loss to
- 18:49Speaker 3: they won the next game, what barely.
- 18:52Speaker 4: In that home but then they they came back home.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Yeah, and then they blew them out in the third
- 18:56Speaker 3: game or the fourth fifth. I didn't look for how
- 19:00Speaker 3: many how many?
- 19:02Speaker 4: Anyway, I thought I thought that was the.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Well, that was the hardest. That was the hardest they
- 19:09Speaker 3: were going to have to play. It was Denver, Yes, yes,
- 19:13Speaker 3: best team because because Minnesota didn't show up. And I'm sorry,
- 19:16Speaker 3: but I was talking about Minnesota. That's what we talked about.
- 19:18Speaker 4: Oh no, no, yeah, no.
- 19:20Speaker 2: So you know, the Nuggets come out at home, beat
- 19:23Speaker 2: the Thunder that was game one, Thunder turn around and
- 19:27Speaker 2: kill them and Nuggets win first game there, and you
- 19:30Speaker 2: start to get okay, this was this was a game
- 19:33Speaker 2: for Game four was critical, low scoring game Thunder one,
- 19:37Speaker 2: but the most stressful game I've watched that whole year.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Oh I'm well, I've got the text. But that whole series,
- 19:44Speaker 3: that whole series was a tit for tat. It's you
- 19:47Speaker 3: win one, you lose one. You win one, you lose one.
- 19:49Speaker 3: And it came down to Game seven and who was
- 19:51Speaker 3: going to win? Yes, And it was Oklahoma City, that
- 19:54Speaker 3: that had, that had the gas in the tank, that
- 19:58Speaker 3: had the the shooting was on, the rebounding was on,
- 20:02Speaker 3: everything was on for him that night to get them
- 20:05Speaker 3: into that Western Conference final.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Talking about the last game of that one.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Of the Nuggets, Yeah, yeah, that was the you know,
- 20:13Speaker 3: because like I said, the whole series was trade to win, lose, win,
- 20:17Speaker 3: lose win.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Yeah. When they came back home, I thought they'd win,
- 20:19Speaker 2: but I didn't think they'd win by thirty I think
- 20:21Speaker 2: it was thirty thirty two or thirty something like that.
- 20:27Speaker 4: Three just picked it up and then playing the Timberwolves.
- 20:30Speaker 2: You know, the Timberwolves are a really good team, very athletic, built,
- 20:33Speaker 2: really well. I think they're a little old in some
- 20:36Speaker 2: areas and then very young and others. Rudy Gobert's interesting player.
- 20:40Speaker 2: I liked him center wise.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I don't know if they just I don't Yeah, me too.
- 20:45Speaker 3: It was really great for them to make the fun
- 20:47Speaker 3: it is the Western Conference.
- 20:49Speaker 2: That's two years in a row. Though they made the
- 20:50Speaker 2: Western Conference Finals. Life did that, Yes they.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Did, and they got beat up Budge yes, probably yes.
- 20:55Speaker 4: And Denver's a bad match up for anybody. I mean,
- 20:58Speaker 4: Denver's the best team right now, Denver.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Weird team.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Okay, let me tell you this. Denver beats the Pacers easy.
- 21:08Speaker 2: And I think everybody is buying into this, the thunder
- 21:12Speaker 2: high being really high. They're nine, they're almost ten point favorites.
- 21:16Speaker 3: I know everybody's talking. Everybody's talking about.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Some games undefense.
- 21:22Speaker 3: But what do you put against Haliburton and and his
- 21:26Speaker 3: his tenacity, his one.
- 21:29Speaker 2: I think you got Dort Caruso that's going to team
- 21:31Speaker 2: up with them. Shockham is the one I wonder about.
- 21:34Speaker 2: That's the guy that really makes a difference. Everybody is
- 21:37Speaker 2: going to focus on Halliburton, But is that sneaky just
- 21:42Speaker 2: death shooter because the Facers weren't just one. That's two
- 21:46Speaker 2: guys that's come over in those trades though, you know
- 21:49Speaker 2: from Toronto.
- 21:50Speaker 3: I said, but Halliburton wasn't just it's not.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Exactly huge, That's what I'm saying. He he cannot be overlooked.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I think, I say you, Oklahoma's coaching staff is superb.
- 22:02Speaker 4: They're not stupid. They're gonna watch that.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I mean, look what dag Naught done in game six
- 22:07Speaker 2: or seven against uh Yoki. I think it was game seven.
- 22:10Speaker 2: He put Caruso on him. The height difference is crazy,
- 22:13Speaker 2: but that guy was in his face. Caruso needs to
- 22:16Speaker 2: be on the floor.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Listen. I really like Dort.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Dort's so bad offensively at times hot, he's hot and cold.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I'm not pitching about love the guy. I mean, he
- 22:24Speaker 2: plays harder probably about anybody on that team. But the
- 22:28Speaker 2: key to the series for me is Jay Williams. That guy,
- 22:34Speaker 2: if he plays, he didn't have to score more than Shay.
- 22:39Speaker 4: He just doesn't need to have these five for twenty nights.
- 22:42Speaker 3: You know that everything I'm saying is Jigs versus Haliburton.
- 22:46Speaker 3: That's that's what I'm seeing.
- 22:47Speaker 2: You know, I think that's the national media, but I think.
- 22:49Speaker 3: You even mean it's saying that nobody's talking about.
- 22:52Speaker 2: But it's Williams.
- 22:55Speaker 3: He's talking about the other guys. They're just talking about Haliburton.
- 22:58Speaker 2: And Well and another thing. Stop the perimeter, Julla. You
- 23:02Speaker 2: know Nie Smith for for how for the Pacers he
- 23:06Speaker 2: can be a deadly three one game against that series,
- 23:09Speaker 2: I think he sawed thirty seven points. I was like,
- 23:11Speaker 2: I have to look this guy up. Who is this guy?
- 23:13Speaker 2: And you've got to defend the perimeter defense better now?
- 23:17Speaker 2: I think where Oklahoma City has the advantages the interior.
- 23:20Speaker 2: You've got Chet Hardenstein. Yeah, you've got the Yes, just
- 23:24Speaker 2: that that have came over and around and get the ball.
- 23:26Speaker 2: But I really think it really comes down to Caruso
- 23:29Speaker 2: playing well on defense and Jalen Williams on offense. You
- 23:33Speaker 2: need those two guys. Now. You know I've bitched a
- 23:36Speaker 2: lot about Chet. Don't hey, Chet, don't dribble the ball
- 23:40Speaker 2: a lot. Just take it down the middle and just
- 23:42Speaker 2: shoot the ball.
- 23:43Speaker 3: You think we're going to see a lot of three
- 23:44Speaker 3: point shooting.
- 23:45Speaker 4: In this and oh god, it's gonna be fast.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Yeah, unlike what we've seen with you the Celtics series
- 23:51Speaker 3: where they shot thirty some odd.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Minnesota shot fifty game one, but they beat us bad
- 23:59Speaker 2: when they shot twenty forty in game what three?
- 24:02Speaker 3: That's saying, are we gonna see it? We gonna actually
- 24:04Speaker 3: see basketball? Are we going to see get the points?
- 24:08Speaker 3: Don't worry about the three unless the three is there?
- 24:10Speaker 2: Depends you watch these two teams there. I think they're
- 24:13Speaker 2: a little bit identical, very identical. One thing about the
- 24:16Speaker 2: Pacers though, is they like to run. They will move, move, move,
- 24:20Speaker 2: So to the Thunder But here's the deal, Thunder, you
- 24:23Speaker 2: watch them, they'll set on a half court offense as well,
- 24:27Speaker 2: so they they can slow it down, they can speed
- 24:30Speaker 2: it up. Thunder are all based on not all, but
- 24:33Speaker 2: a lot of their points, and you look at it
- 24:35Speaker 2: as turnover base their defense and how fast Pacers get
- 24:39Speaker 2: in they turn it over. What the gonna need to.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Come down to which team can play the pace well.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Or keep up with the other teams.
- 24:47Speaker 3: But if you got the Thunder, Thunder gonna play fast,
- 24:50Speaker 3: they can do both. And if the Pacers pacers up
- 24:52Speaker 3: throwing them down.
- 24:53Speaker 2: No, I think it's opposite. I think the Pacers aren't
- 24:56Speaker 2: going to slow the game down because I think they can.
- 24:59Speaker 2: I think the Under can play a half court offense.
- 25:02Speaker 2: You look at it, you set up, you slow down,
- 25:04Speaker 2: you look out here, Shade drives grabs a foul.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Whatever. Watched him play in the half. Course, we've watched
- 25:11Speaker 3: the Pacers play half court.
- 25:12Speaker 2: On not as much though they really like that, right, But.
- 25:15Speaker 3: They did that against the Knicks. That's I think that's
- 25:17Speaker 3: how they beat. The next was was was getting that
- 25:21Speaker 3: the slow that slow down on.
- 25:23Speaker 4: I think how they beat keeping the ball, keeping the ball.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Burton's I think how they brunts and I think how.
- 25:31Speaker 2: The first time listening, Shawn's got new names for everybody.
- 25:34Speaker 3: I don't really give.
- 25:37Speaker 4: But no, I think the difference that's what I call.
- 25:40Speaker 2: I think the difference in the Knicks is their defense
- 25:45Speaker 2: ain't very good.
- 25:46Speaker 4: That's the problem there. And Timms likes to play big defense.
- 25:51Speaker 2: They're just really not that good that they're just not
- 25:55Speaker 2: Their offense is set up really well. Brunson, I mean,
- 25:58Speaker 2: I haven't watched a lot of Knicks basketball until this playoffs. Yeah,
- 26:02Speaker 2: and they I mean that Brunson is amazing. I mean,
- 26:07Speaker 2: he doesn't get the love he probably should Towns. He's
- 26:10Speaker 2: hot and cold to me because of his defensive presence.
- 26:16Speaker 2: The thing about that is they don't have the depth.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Think about Hartenstein on that team he left to come
- 26:24Speaker 2: to the Thunder. Think about him being on that team
- 26:26Speaker 2: against Indiana. That would have made a huge difference, just
- 26:29Speaker 2: the interior. Well, because Kat turns the ball over. He's
- 26:33Speaker 2: not that good defensively, That's my point. He's offensively, he's
- 26:37Speaker 2: got them up and down numbers.
- 26:39Speaker 3: But it would have made it would have made a difference,
- 26:41Speaker 3: But I don't think.
- 26:41Speaker 7: It would have made that big but I think the
- 26:43Speaker 7: Pacers have a lot of a lot of I mean,
- 26:48Speaker 7: Halliburton's great, Siakam very good, and then their role players
- 26:54Speaker 7: they're also very good.
- 26:56Speaker 3: The benches are deep, well.
- 26:58Speaker 2: No, I mean, I mean I was talking about five
- 26:59Speaker 2: or six.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Both teams have deep benches.
- 27:02Speaker 4: But see, the Knicks didn't. And that was the difference.
- 27:04Speaker 4: They just didn't have that talent much after six or so.
- 27:07Speaker 3: That was what was And Tims did better in the
- 27:11Speaker 3: college team that didn't play they only played the five.
- 27:13Speaker 4: Yeah, but Tims did the Hoosiers.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Was that no one recent what.
- 27:19Speaker 4: They called what was it?
- 27:20Speaker 2: It was the not the Buckeyes, it was the what
- 27:22Speaker 2: was that talent called Bedford?
- 27:24Speaker 3: Hell?
- 27:24Speaker 4: Was think about anybody.
- 27:27Speaker 3: About I was talking about Yes, I was talking about
- 27:30Speaker 3: this this this past college a world championship. Oh don't
- 27:36Speaker 3: remember you had the team that came in and played
- 27:39Speaker 3: to five.
- 27:39Speaker 2: But no, I just think that I think that that
- 27:42Speaker 2: was a big difference there, and I think that the
- 27:46Speaker 2: Pacers just kind of overworked them out random. They run
- 27:50Speaker 2: the Knicks. Aren't that team they're playing the thunder Thunder
- 27:55Speaker 2: or that team. Twenty nine and one against the East
- 27:58Speaker 2: regular season obviously sixty eight and fourteen, number one seed.
- 28:03Speaker 2: They were thirty six and I'm sorry, thirty five and
- 28:05Speaker 2: six at home. Uh Shay's MVP betting odds are crazy
- 28:10Speaker 2: for this game. It scares me a little bit because
- 28:14Speaker 2: the Thunder really need to establish a good win game one.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Pacers come in and sneak a win. It's possible. I'm
- 28:23Speaker 2: not saying it is. It would be very concerning for
- 28:27Speaker 2: the mentality of that team.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Pacers have taken down some big teams, the one that
- 28:33Speaker 3: take down Cleveland, and Cleveland was the number two team.
- 28:36Speaker 4: In OLIM But I don't think Cleveland was that great.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Yeah, but they were the number two team in olivem
- 28:40Speaker 3: beyad they were. They were four wins behind them.
- 28:43Speaker 2: I thought that.
- 28:43Speaker 4: I thought that Thunder had better series win.
- 28:45Speaker 3: And then right, but but the but they beat.
- 28:48Speaker 2: In the first series.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Why am I missing them? Damn it?
- 28:56Speaker 4: The Lakers?
- 28:58Speaker 3: It was Golden State?
- 29:00Speaker 4: Who is to play in right after that?
- 29:05Speaker 6: No?
- 29:06Speaker 2: The why are we missing that?
- 29:08Speaker 3: Wow?
- 29:09Speaker 4: Hold on, I'm sorry there, I do. I do Grizzlies.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Yeah, move with John Morant, But that guy's in so
- 29:17Speaker 3: much trouble with guns and his dad.
- 29:22Speaker 2: And we did sweep him.
- 29:23Speaker 4: But you know, two point win, six point win.
- 29:27Speaker 3: Win. Yeah, there were big wins in there, they've been
- 29:30Speaker 3: some of the.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Other ones at their place was lower.
- 29:33Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. They need to get up. They
- 29:36Speaker 2: need to be too o. Going to Indiana, win game
- 29:38Speaker 2: three and it's over. Just finish it, Just be done.
- 29:41Speaker 3: H oilers turned it up.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Here we go, thirteen minutes left. We're gonna finish up soon.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Anyway to finish the end of this.
- 29:46Speaker 3: So, uh you got do you want to do the russo?
- 29:50Speaker 2: Yeah? Okay, So real quick, we're talk about the Knicks
- 29:53Speaker 2: we brought up to Nixon. And you know, I'm Sean
- 29:55Speaker 2: is not as much as I am. I am huge.
- 29:57Speaker 2: I really think coaching. I think I think you're more
- 30:05Speaker 2: when it comes to coaching.
- 30:07Speaker 3: How much they mean I don't know where.
- 30:08Speaker 2: You know how much they mean just just in basketball.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Okay, So basketball is the last, Well, I think it's
- 30:17Speaker 3: super important. Baseball, hockey, and.
- 30:21Speaker 2: And see, and I'm opposite. I think basketball is I
- 30:24Speaker 2: think baseball is the last. To be honest, I mean
- 30:28Speaker 2: they were a jersey. Like the players, they just rolled,
- 30:31Speaker 2: I mean their assistant coaches roll out lineups. I mean
- 30:34Speaker 2: sometimes it's good, but I mean some of the best coaches.
- 30:37Speaker 2: I mean Sparky Anderson, you'd say it was one of
- 30:39Speaker 2: the best baseball coaches, probably right, Okay, but yeah, but
- 30:44Speaker 2: I mean.
- 30:44Speaker 3: He was one of the best baseball coaches, even though
- 30:47Speaker 3: he only won one title.
- 30:49Speaker 2: But he's had some bad years. But I think a
- 30:52Speaker 2: lot of that is not really bad.
- 30:54Speaker 3: I think the Cardinals coach Russo.
- 30:59Speaker 2: No, I know you, yes, it's not. We're gonna listen
- 31:03Speaker 2: to Chris Russo made.
- 31:06Speaker 3: What is his name?
- 31:07Speaker 4: He coached for your I could see him.
- 31:09Speaker 2: He reminds me what he reminds me of my my
- 31:11Speaker 2: old counterpart stand.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Yeah, coach what sucks twice and then he went to
- 31:17Speaker 3: he went to Saint Louis and coached them and got
- 31:19Speaker 3: them all the titles.
- 31:20Speaker 2: No. So, essentially, what I was going to start out
- 31:22Speaker 2: with saying is Sean's not as much into coaching as
- 31:25Speaker 2: I am.
- 31:25Speaker 4: I love coaching. It's a passion of mine to watch
- 31:28Speaker 4: these time.
- 31:28Speaker 3: I'm into coaching on hockey and football. That's why you
- 31:32Speaker 3: have line changes, That's why you have the line setups
- 31:34Speaker 3: in hockey. That's why it pulling this goalie at two minutes. Bruso,
- 31:41Speaker 3: I have whatever I had Russo. Uh, I think that's
- 31:47Speaker 3: more important than you know basketball, because a lot of
- 31:49Speaker 3: basketball it's just you do setups and then the players
- 31:53Speaker 3: just do whatever they want to. Yeah, but you say that,
- 31:55Speaker 3: but you have players shooting threes when you're like, why
- 31:57Speaker 3: are you shooting threes?
- 31:58Speaker 2: There is a lot of that. But I think I.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Need you to score points and get the interior still points,
- 32:03Speaker 3: two points, hold on every time we'll win a fucking gain.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Don't everybody shooting three point?
- 32:07Speaker 2: But I think, don't you think overall when you get
- 32:10Speaker 2: those players together, I think coach is their biggest thing.
- 32:12Speaker 2: And let's say any business manager or anything, they've got
- 32:16Speaker 2: to have this. No, not just that. It's like a
- 32:19Speaker 2: what is that word I'm looking for when everybody's got
- 32:22Speaker 2: on the same line, the same page. A culture, that's
- 32:26Speaker 2: the big word. I don't like culture. It's a weird word,
- 32:29Speaker 2: but it kind of means the same. You gotta be
- 32:32Speaker 2: on the same page. You all gotta be working, you all.
- 32:35Speaker 2: It's like it's like it's like the tug of war.
- 32:38Speaker 2: You all got to be pulling the same rope at
- 32:41Speaker 2: the same time together. Coaching is big on that. That's
- 32:46Speaker 2: half of it.
- 32:46Speaker 3: And they're NBA coaching. They do the majority of their
- 32:49Speaker 3: coaching and practice. That's important, but everybody else does everybody
- 32:55Speaker 3: else does theirs in practice as well. But then they
- 32:57Speaker 3: do it on the fields football and high you do
- 33:00Speaker 3: it more. Baseball, it's there they call sons, Hey, just
- 33:04Speaker 3: stay pitch this.
- 33:06Speaker 4: That's a gut deal though baseball to me.
- 33:09Speaker 3: But basketball you're coaching them.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Yeah, but you've got a time out right, You've got
- 33:13Speaker 2: to put a right reserve.
- 33:14Speaker 3: In sports, that's all. That's an all le them.
- 33:19Speaker 2: A bit of a time. But you've only but you're
- 33:21Speaker 2: dealing in some sports with you know, eleven on one
- 33:23Speaker 2: side versus five, and you've only got ten or twelve.
- 33:28Speaker 2: I'm talking about there's five on the court at one time,
- 33:30Speaker 2: and there's eleven on a football field.
- 33:34Speaker 4: So it's like, yeah, but that's what I'm saying.
- 33:36Speaker 9: It's like, I know a five on three, but no,
- 33:38Speaker 9: but you you've got to come back fast and go
- 33:40Speaker 9: Wait a minute, I'm only dealing with what I don't
- 33:42Speaker 9: even know what a roster is now in basketball, fifteen
- 33:45Speaker 9: seventeen whatever, twenty people maybe even I don't think it's
- 33:48Speaker 9: that high, but we'll look it up.
- 33:50Speaker 3: But anyway, five and then you got like six reserves.
- 33:53Speaker 2: But you've got everybody making all this money then, and
- 33:56Speaker 2: you've got to work so much close. It's a closer
- 33:59Speaker 2: deal it now. Football you've got defense, offense. You've got
- 34:03Speaker 2: them kind of work special teams. No, but you've got
- 34:05Speaker 2: them working against each other, and they're kind of team
- 34:08Speaker 2: special teams.
- 34:08Speaker 4: No, but you've got them separate coaches.
- 34:10Speaker 2: That's it.
- 34:11Speaker 3: They're all separate coaches. You have three.
- 34:13Speaker 2: You're missing my point on that special teams means fucking
- 34:16Speaker 2: nothing in football. Team when it comes to beating each
- 34:19Speaker 2: other's ass, no defense does. No defense goes out and goes, hell, yeah,
- 34:23Speaker 2: we just beat the special teams in practice today.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Really, that's very many.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Special beat the defense on the field, very minimal, very menial.
- 34:32Speaker 3: How many times have you seen it important?
- 34:35Speaker 4: You're kicking is I'm not saying it's important. You're missing
- 34:37Speaker 4: my point.
- 34:38Speaker 2: I'm talking about the nature, the mentality of team sports.
- 34:43Speaker 2: You'll watch punters and kickers not even being practice.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Okay, you want to talk about team sports. Basketball is
- 34:50Speaker 3: the least team sport.
- 34:52Speaker 2: That's why I think coaching is more most important. That's
- 34:56Speaker 2: my point. You just men, they have to keep the
- 35:01Speaker 2: egos together because there's so few of them, it's not
- 35:04Speaker 2: as competitive nobody's been.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Nobody's been that great with a basketball coach since Phil Jackson.
- 35:10Speaker 3: He was able to keep egos. It's kind of my
- 35:12Speaker 3: pat Riley ego. But we don't have those guys anymore.
- 35:15Speaker 3: You can't keep the egos in check anymore.
- 35:17Speaker 2: No, but I'm saying, but when you find one that
- 35:19Speaker 2: kind of does, and I think the Pacers has the
- 35:22Speaker 2: ultimate one. You know, Rick Carlisle gets no, no fucking credit.
- 35:27Speaker 2: He got fired from the Dallas Mavericks. He won a championship.
- 35:30Speaker 3: You know, just got fired.
- 35:31Speaker 2: For me, we're gonna talk about That's that's my point, GJA.
- 35:34Speaker 2: But Rick Carlisle just got fired, or didn't get fired,
- 35:36Speaker 2: got fired from Dallas back in the day. He won
- 35:39Speaker 2: them a championship, and he quietly goes to a small
- 35:43Speaker 2: market team who's got a pretty badass general manager and
- 35:47Speaker 2: an owner that goes, hey, you do I trust you?
- 35:51Speaker 2: Who's the owner of the Indiana Pacers. You don't know him,
- 35:54Speaker 2: that's my point. You don't know Dennisburg, No, you don't
- 35:58Speaker 2: know it Bird, No, you don't know John Burt. You
- 36:00Speaker 2: don't know him.
- 36:01Speaker 4: I'm just saying, you don't cost I don't know him.
- 36:03Speaker 3: I don't know anything people know.
- 36:05Speaker 2: But I'm saying, but some owners of basketball team, Harry Dolan,
- 36:09Speaker 2: you know him, he's the Knicks, the owner. You've heard
- 36:12Speaker 2: of him. He's a brick. Nope, we'll get to that
- 36:14Speaker 2: here in a minute too. But what I'm saying is.
- 36:16Speaker 3: I don't even know who owns Oklahoma City.
- 36:19Speaker 4: Clay Bennett and some other people in Chicago.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Well, there you go.
- 36:23Speaker 3: That's what I know.
- 36:24Speaker 2: So my point is Jones. My point is he's a
- 36:29Speaker 2: quiet owner. He lets his people and management take care
- 36:33Speaker 2: of it.
- 36:33Speaker 3: That's always the best owners is the owners that quietly.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Rick Carlisle goes, yeah, I'll take the Pacers job, and
- 36:39Speaker 2: everyone's like, why would you? Why would you take the Pacers?
- 36:42Speaker 2: Oh but you could. Rick could have had a better job.
- 36:45Speaker 2: He could have said out another year and had the
- 36:46Speaker 2: best job. But the guy quietly goes up there and
- 36:49Speaker 2: just coaches his ass off. And that's what good NBA
- 36:52Speaker 2: coaches do. And don't tell me that that. I'm just
- 36:56Speaker 2: saying it could be a factor in this series.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Now.
- 36:59Speaker 2: I think okay SE's talent out wigs and I think
- 37:03Speaker 2: dag Naught's a good coach. He's he's in tune with them,
- 37:08Speaker 2: their brotherhood.
- 37:08Speaker 3: Did you watch that on him the other day? Were
- 37:10Speaker 3: you with me watching Diagnalton that he came up?
- 37:13Speaker 4: Yeah, he came up from the blue.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Was it here that we were watching? We were watching
- 37:17Speaker 3: his coaching history.
- 37:20Speaker 2: But my point is when I all and I took
- 37:23Speaker 2: a long way around. When we get to this clip,
- 37:26Speaker 2: and we're going to end this podcast after this clip,
- 37:29Speaker 2: that Tom, Yeah, that Tom Thibodeau change the culture, if
- 37:33Speaker 2: you want to call it. That the Knicks hadn't been
- 37:36Speaker 2: I think took Eastern Conference championship like twenty twenty five years.
- 37:39Speaker 4: I think rust to talk about.
- 37:42Speaker 2: And they fired him. They fired him, so unless he
- 37:46Speaker 2: come in and does something. But anyway, let's let's I'm
- 37:48Speaker 2: gonna give credit to Chris mad dough Russo off Serious Radio.
- 37:53Speaker 2: What a great clip, uh he brings And I just
- 37:57Speaker 2: loved it. That's why I sent it to SHAWNA. Want
- 37:58Speaker 2: y'all listen to it. He hadn't heard it.
- 38:03Speaker 3: There's gonna be a advertisement.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Each as we talk about the advertisement, then you could
- 38:11Speaker 2: just like knock it out right again.
- 38:13Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 38:15Speaker 2: It's gonna say in three to one, we'll turn the
- 38:19Speaker 2: volume on of his corona too.
- 38:21Speaker 8: Hey, okay, number one.
- 38:24Speaker 10: What they did here to Thibaeau is a complete discription.
- 38:28Speaker 8: This guy took a.
- 38:29Speaker 10: Team to the conference final and because og And Towns
- 38:33Speaker 10: can't make a free throw, they lose that series. In Indiana,
- 38:36Speaker 10: they beat the world champs. He gets to a conference final.
- 38:39Speaker 10: They go back to back fifty wins for the first time.
- 38:41Speaker 8: Since ninety five.
- 38:42Speaker 10: They get to a conference final for the first time
- 38:44Speaker 10: in twenty five years, twenty five years. And this is
- 38:48Speaker 10: and you gave him a three year contact extension eight
- 38:51Speaker 10: months ago. And this is how you deserve this is
- 38:53Speaker 10: what this is how you.
- 38:54Speaker 8: Repay him by firing him. That is why.
- 38:57Speaker 10: Because mckel bridges didn't like him, Who cares about mca
- 39:00Speaker 10: bridges or Anthony te.
- 39:01Speaker 8: You know Brunson loved him, and you know heart loved him.
- 39:04Speaker 8: So the idea that the nick players that's something to
- 39:06Speaker 8: do with this is nonsense.
- 39:07Speaker 10: And I'll tell you right now, let's give the owner
- 39:08Speaker 10: grief here.
- 39:09Speaker 8: He's a lousy owner. He's been a lousy.
- 39:12Speaker 10: Owner for a long time. He's got an awful reputation.
- 39:15Speaker 10: You want to sit there, that's James Gold.
- 39:17Speaker 8: You want to sit there and blame everything on Leon Rose.
- 39:20Speaker 10: I think Leon Rose is too smart to have done
- 39:22Speaker 10: this by himself. He has deserved a benefit of the doubt.
- 39:25Speaker 10: Dolan is not so Dolan's hands to me, he was
- 39:29Speaker 10: in the exit meetings.
- 39:30Speaker 8: To me is all over this. Think about it.
- 39:33Speaker 10: The Knicks have had twelve head coaches in his tenure
- 39:36Speaker 10: as the owner of the team.
- 39:37Speaker 8: Before Tibbs, they won one playoff series. One with Tibbs
- 39:43Speaker 8: they won five. So this is how a.
- 39:45Speaker 10: Good reward TIBs by throwing them out the door.
- 39:48Speaker 8: And who they bring it in? Pat Lotty's not coming here?
- 39:50Speaker 8: Who's coming?
- 39:51Speaker 10: What the kid from Cleveland and Worldwide West? The same
- 39:54Speaker 10: guy who wanted Louisvuo Tohio Ken Payne. How did that
- 39:56Speaker 10: work out at Louisville with Kenny Pan He won twelve
- 39:59Speaker 10: games to open fifty four before they.
- 40:01Speaker 8: Throw them out the door. So the idea that now we're.
- 40:03Speaker 10: Gonna let Worldwide West make the decision on who the
- 40:06Speaker 10: coach is or he has some say is a bunch
- 40:09Speaker 10: of nonsense.
- 40:10Speaker 8: This guy's a hell of a basketball coach. Hell of
- 40:12Speaker 8: a basketball.
- 40:13Speaker 10: Coach the Knicks over achieved to get to a conference final.
- 40:16Speaker 10: Indiana is a better team. Better team that the ball
- 40:19Speaker 10: does not bounce nine feet in the air and bounce
- 40:22Speaker 10: in in set of bouncing out, The Knicks would have
- 40:24Speaker 10: won that series.
- 40:25Speaker 8: Would you than that? Fire them? Here?
- 40:27Speaker 2: It is.
- 40:27Speaker 10: They did a celebration two weeks ago, seven thousand people
- 40:31Speaker 10: on Seventh.
- 40:32Speaker 8: Avenue when they beat the Celtics in.
- 40:33Speaker 10: Six games like they had won a world championship.
- 40:36Speaker 8: Five seven games, six games later. You throw him out
- 40:40Speaker 8: the door. Oh come on.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Now, remember and thank you for the clip Sean for
- 40:47Speaker 2: Matt dog Grusso. Now remember that they signed a three
- 40:49Speaker 2: year extension for Thibodeaux about seven eight months ago, and
- 40:53Speaker 2: you mentioned that.
- 40:56Speaker 4: Listen, it's unless he done.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Unless there's some ship behind the scenes, and it happens
- 41:02Speaker 2: at times you need But yes, but it's possible there
- 41:09Speaker 2: was some ship that went down. Maybe there's something we
- 41:11Speaker 2: don't know. Final on the World.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Series Women's Real Series of Softball taxes two to one.
- 41:17Speaker 4: That series is over.
- 41:18Speaker 3: Let's go see what they got that it's over. Now,
- 41:21Speaker 3: go ahead and finish your Thibodeaux. We'll look.
- 41:23Speaker 2: No, No, I just I just think it's it's important
- 41:26Speaker 2: to think about coaching. And I think you and Pat Jones,
- 41:33Speaker 2: and I've given him credit on this podcast before. He
- 41:36Speaker 2: always says, hey, and and we bring up the Solids. Still, Hey,
- 41:40Speaker 2: we're going to fire someone to get better. And how'd
- 41:43Speaker 2: that take you? You get better?
- 41:44Speaker 3: We really need to talk to you.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Both, Polini nine and three. You fire him to get better? No,
- 41:49Speaker 2: it's not been good since now, Matt Role finally, but
- 41:52Speaker 2: it took ten twelve years.
- 41:53Speaker 3: Yeah, because we hung out with what's his name's niece, Yes,
- 41:57Speaker 3: Florida Frank Solos and then Solich ended up going to
- 42:01Speaker 3: Ohio and developed their drinking habit. Scott Frost was brought
- 42:05Speaker 3: in from uh UCF and he's back at UCF. I
- 42:12Speaker 3: I everything I heard about Scott Frost's years at Nebraska
- 42:16Speaker 3: was just all horrible. They said him and his assistant
- 42:19Speaker 3: coaches were just abusing the the golf team's automated s. Well, no,
- 42:26Speaker 3: this is just this wasn't allegedly. This actually came out
- 42:28Speaker 3: by the podcast.
- 42:29Speaker 4: It's allegedly, Okay, we are sports.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Allegedly and he had a bit of a drinking and
- 42:35Speaker 3: allegedly and and it it was a reality check for him. So, yeah,
- 42:41Speaker 3: and how many coaches are you looking at it now? No,
- 42:43Speaker 3: I was just gonna.
- 42:44Speaker 2: I was looking at Frank Soultier's record at Nebraska. He's
- 42:46Speaker 2: fifty eight nineteen, nine and four, twelve and one and
- 42:48Speaker 2: eleven and two, seven and seven. That sucks. I lost
- 42:51Speaker 2: the Independence ball. And then he went nine and three
- 42:53Speaker 2: and did not coach in the bowl game because they
- 42:56Speaker 2: had already fired him after nine and three. They didn't like.
- 42:59Speaker 3: They didn't like is his winning mediocrity? No?
- 43:03Speaker 2: No, So he goes to this Mia, Ohio Bobcats the
- 43:06Speaker 2: Mid Amarian Conference his first year in two thousand and five.
- 43:10Speaker 3: And no players. You know, it's all about the players
- 43:13Speaker 3: that you come in with.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Three years later he had a four and eight record,
- 43:17Speaker 2: not good, and then after that he never had a
- 43:20Speaker 2: losing record. Now, let's remember during the mid two thousands
- 43:25Speaker 2: and later two thousands, is these teams were going for
- 43:29Speaker 2: by games. They were going to Yeah they're in state,
- 43:32Speaker 2: Ohio state. They were getting their ass kick. So let's
- 43:34Speaker 2: stop talking about these Mid American coaches not doing a
- 43:37Speaker 2: good enough job when you're setting them out to be
- 43:39Speaker 2: three or zero and three right before you get there.
- 43:42Speaker 2: And that's kind of my point when I was talking
- 43:44Speaker 2: about Timodoo, that team is not that good. No, And
- 43:49Speaker 2: I think Russo said it better. He said the paces
- 43:51Speaker 2: are better, and they are. And what's crazy, he's the
- 43:55Speaker 2: big market team's not spending money. What do you do it?
- 43:58Speaker 3: He said it better whenever he said, you're out celebrating
- 44:01Speaker 3: a six to seven game win over the Celtics and
- 44:05Speaker 3: you haven't even won the title.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Or even made it to the championship. I understand fans
- 44:11Speaker 2: if they make it to the champions championship. You know,
- 44:14Speaker 2: if Pacers fans are celebrating right now and Thunder fans,
- 44:17Speaker 2: how we're celebrating, that's great. You made it to the championship.
- 44:20Speaker 2: That's huge. Not everybody does that. Now you're down to
- 44:24Speaker 2: the final, it's one winner. I just you know.
- 44:27Speaker 3: But anyway, a.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Lot of nine and four, seven and six, eight and five,
- 44:30Speaker 2: eight and six, nine and four, nine and four, seven
- 44:31Speaker 2: and six, and then he's gone and that's okay, And
- 44:35Speaker 2: that's what happened whatever I mean. He had some alcohol issues.
- 44:39Speaker 2: And I do have a fun fact though for you
- 44:42Speaker 2: I read, yeah, it.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Was fun facts Smith coach team, by the way. Fun
- 44:48Speaker 3: fact his dungel appointment was he needs to floss more.
- 44:51Speaker 2: He was talking about Allen Alex Caruso and his intense defense,
- 44:56Speaker 2: which I think he's been I like, Hardenstein, don't get
- 44:58Speaker 2: me wrong, and he you know, he's our biggest free
- 45:01Speaker 2: agent pickup.
- 45:01Speaker 3: And I'm still I'm still upset that Crusoe, but nobody's
- 45:04Speaker 3: our biggest. We left was traded out of Chicago and.
- 45:07Speaker 2: Won a championship at the Lakers. But Hardenstein isn't. Yeah,
- 45:12Speaker 2: he wanted to chance it was that Lakers champ.
- 45:14Speaker 3: Weird championship, but he also went with uh, he also
- 45:17Speaker 3: went with the heat.
- 45:18Speaker 2: No, but he just won one. I think with he.
- 45:22Speaker 5: Was with.
- 45:23Speaker 4: Fun fact is we're talking about Alex Cruso.
- 45:25Speaker 2: His dad was a player for Eddie Sutton, which is
- 45:32Speaker 2: just kind of funny how that intense defense his dad
- 45:35Speaker 2: played at Creighton when Eddie.
- 45:37Speaker 3: Was the head coach.
- 45:38Speaker 2: I thought that was a good thank you Dan. Somebody
- 45:40Speaker 2: on Twitter I saw that. I thought that was really cool.
- 45:43Speaker 2: You've somebody I didn't know that. I don't remember his
- 45:45Speaker 2: last name, but I saw that, and I was like, Hey,
- 45:47Speaker 2: that's really great that that's a really good statistic. But honestly,
- 45:52Speaker 2: my pick Thunder and six, Jay Williams, Alex Crusoe two
- 45:57Speaker 2: Stars of the Game.
- 45:59Speaker 4: Chit please, my friend, do.
- 46:01Speaker 3: You want to put one hundred ice cream cones on
- 46:03Speaker 3: that one too?
- 46:05Speaker 5: Like?
- 46:05Speaker 4: How many one hundred ice cream cones? Like you're picking
- 46:07Speaker 4: the Pacers.
- 46:08Speaker 3: I'll take the Pacers, I'll take the I'll.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Take a hundred ice cream cones for and you're and
- 46:12Speaker 2: Pacers and what just for fun?
- 46:15Speaker 3: Oh it's seven seven?
- 46:18Speaker 4: Are you gonna go like a okay? So when does
- 46:20Speaker 4: the Pacers I'm looking.
- 46:21Speaker 3: At the Nuggets. I'm looking at at a.
- 46:23Speaker 4: Nuggets Okay, okay for the Thunder, sure, but when huh.
- 46:28Speaker 3: Like the Nugget series, it's gonna be game game.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Okay, So when does the Pacers get there? They're winning? Okay,
- 46:34Speaker 2: see what game because they need one? Well, at least
- 46:38Speaker 2: game I mean, I think you're gonna they're gonna win games.
- 46:41Speaker 4: If the Pacers win, they're gonna win. How is the
- 46:44Speaker 4: same to.
- 46:46Speaker 3: They don't do that? Yeah, so I'm gonna say at
- 46:49Speaker 3: least game too, and at least game six.
- 46:52Speaker 2: So you're thinking that, well, that's a home game for them,
- 46:56Speaker 2: So I'm giving you're giving them all the home games.
- 47:00Speaker 3: I'm saying they went all their home games.
- 47:02Speaker 4: So that's three, and then you're what change game.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Well, either game game two?
- 47:08Speaker 2: Okay, okay, I could see that.
- 47:10Speaker 3: That's the one that they that they take, but they
- 47:11Speaker 3: went all their home.
- 47:12Speaker 2: I'm a little concerned about game one.
- 47:15Speaker 4: I don't know why.
- 47:16Speaker 2: I've just got a weird feeling, and I think it's
- 47:17Speaker 2: the it's the heat thunder from twenty twelve. It's the
- 47:20Speaker 2: last time we made it. It's true, and our team
- 47:22Speaker 2: was way better then. No, no, no back up, hold it,
- 47:27Speaker 2: hold it. I thought I thought the talent there was better.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Talent there was great. The talent there was was was
- 47:34Speaker 3: what you would call it.
- 47:35Speaker 2: I really think our depth and our coaching is much
- 47:40Speaker 2: better now. I think the team as a whole is better,
- 47:43Speaker 2: and our interior is better too.
- 47:45Speaker 3: I think the team playing together now is better.
- 47:47Speaker 6: No.
- 47:48Speaker 2: I mean they talk about listen to all the pundits
- 47:52Speaker 2: that used to make fun and I don't know, I
- 47:53Speaker 2: need to go back and look at all the people
- 47:55Speaker 2: that made fun of the thunder. You know when they
- 47:58Speaker 2: do that after the game and they put the owls
- 48:00Speaker 2: on the reporter and they're, oh, they're haven't too much
- 48:02Speaker 2: found that when there's somebody out there and I can't
- 48:05Speaker 2: remember what personality they think they are that's so famous,
- 48:09Speaker 2: made a comment that said, well they're they're not gonna
- 48:12Speaker 2: win that.
- 48:12Speaker 3: Here, I need to bring this up for you. You
- 48:16Speaker 3: railed on this during your drunken rage for the episode
- 48:20Speaker 3: that was ruined.
- 48:20Speaker 4: And that was a legend, a drunken rage, and I
- 48:22Speaker 4: don't have a drunken razors.
- 48:24Speaker 3: Some lady. It was some lady that you said.
- 48:26Speaker 4: You know Doris Burk's horn, that's what us.
- 48:31Speaker 2: You got me. You were like, you didn't she No,
- 48:34Speaker 2: I mean, just look at this picture.
- 48:38Speaker 3: She's got this frumpy, upset look.
- 48:43Speaker 4: I remember saying that.
- 48:44Speaker 2: But anyway, No, I showed me the will give you
- 48:47Speaker 2: my opinion.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Look at her face, look at her eyes, Look at
- 48:50Speaker 3: look at the face she's making. Whatever picture you showed
- 48:53Speaker 3: me off a Twitter.
- 48:56Speaker 2: Hold on, I gotta I gotta get this one, because
- 48:59Speaker 2: now everyone knows that Doris burg had some sort of
- 49:02Speaker 2: love affair with the Timberwolves.
- 49:04Speaker 3: And maybe she did, she really did.
- 49:07Speaker 4: Maybe it was just negative.
- 49:11Speaker 2: I don't know, maybe just negative thunder to begin with.
- 49:13Speaker 2: But you watch that cast or that sports cast of hers,
- 49:17Speaker 2: maybe turned her down. She brought the free throw merchant ut. Yeah,
- 49:23Speaker 2: she mentioned that, and she didn't say it about him,
- 49:25Speaker 2: but she mentioned it. Well, that's the reason why people
- 49:27Speaker 2: on Twitter call him that. I'm like, what, it's Dorisburg.
- 49:34Speaker 2: I mean, she's trash. I mean, and I don't, I don't,
- 49:38Speaker 2: I don't care. I mean, listen, you know you want
- 49:41Speaker 2: to throw that ship out there next year, and that's great,
- 49:43Speaker 2: but listen, everybody on Twitter's bitch about it. And it's
- 49:46Speaker 2: not just about Oklahoma City. She's just trash. She's not
- 49:50Speaker 2: ain't good and to be honest, and it's not because
- 49:52Speaker 2: she's a woman. So I don't want to hear that ship.
- 49:54Speaker 2: Don't even bring it up, don't even talk about it.
- 49:57Speaker 2: She's not any good. She's two opinionated. If if you
- 50:00Speaker 2: are a sport, if you're a sportscaster, you're supposed.
- 50:05Speaker 3: To be neutral. Yes, you're neutral. Now, you know, we
- 50:09Speaker 3: give Stephen A Smith and all those guys, they're a
- 50:11Speaker 3: building to do it, but they do it. They do it.
- 50:13Speaker 3: He's he is, but he does he does his life bigger,
- 50:21Speaker 3: but he does his thing about the Knicks and and
- 50:25Speaker 3: the cowboys and all that. But he does it on
- 50:27Speaker 3: his own time. He doesn't do it when he's opinionated.
- 50:31Speaker 3: That's okay, that's what you want those guys. That's when
- 50:36Speaker 3: he does it. He doesn't do it while he's watching
- 50:38Speaker 3: the team, well, while he's you know, at the game
- 50:43Speaker 3: or you know all that, he's not doing it. Then
- 50:46Speaker 3: when he's supposed to be commentated, to be an independent commentator.
- 50:50Speaker 4: But she's not.
- 50:51Speaker 3: She's not.
- 50:52Speaker 4: She has to be independent.
- 50:56Speaker 3: And also also let's bring up that you uh said
- 50:59Speaker 3: numerous times ESPN hire us, we worked for chief.
- 51:03Speaker 2: They can't. They can't. They can't afford us.
- 51:04Speaker 4: Now a k I'm kidding.
- 51:11Speaker 2: You questioned them highly like what is wrong with Well,
- 51:16Speaker 2: it's kind of weird because they're firing a lot of
- 51:18Speaker 2: good people and then they're giving big raises to these other.
- 51:20Speaker 4: People and doors Bark works for them.
- 51:23Speaker 3: I mean, I mean alright, So, so Texas Tech loses
- 51:27Speaker 3: after being up one nothing, they lose to Texas. They
- 51:29Speaker 3: gave up the two runs in the sixth inning. So uh,
- 51:36Speaker 3: it looks like at Wood singled into left and Henry
- 51:42Speaker 3: and Scott scored. That's how they I was gonna look
- 51:45Speaker 3: at the box go to see if Kennedy was still
- 51:47Speaker 3: pitching for them.
- 51:48Speaker 2: She is, she's going to pitch the next game.
- 51:50Speaker 3: No, no, no, I was just saying if they had
- 51:52Speaker 3: pulled her. Okay, yeah, she pitched the complete game.
- 51:54Speaker 2: Of course she's going to pitch the next game too.
- 51:55Speaker 3: And they left Kevin and Texas and.
- 51:58Speaker 2: If she wins, she's gonna pitch the game too. I mean,
- 52:00Speaker 2: there's nobody else picture for Texas thing.
- 52:02Speaker 3: Come on, yeah, I couldn't name any of the other pictures.
- 52:06Speaker 2: You can't name any of the players either.
- 52:09Speaker 3: Uh, there's a good years as a is.
- 52:13Speaker 4: You're looking at their book Langaliers.
- 52:15Speaker 2: I have seen Leers.
- 52:17Speaker 4: I love there.
- 52:20Speaker 3: The only words that well even read the book. The
- 52:22Speaker 3: book is way better.
- 52:23Speaker 2: But the book is way better. But that's a really
- 52:25Speaker 2: great fan show. That's really Redone. That's a really great
- 52:28Speaker 2: vampire movie. It doesn't because it's a vamp. He's a vampire,
- 52:31Speaker 2: but it needs to be Redone. It does.
- 52:33Speaker 4: But I do like the k walking out and the head.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Let's say it is a customer, customers.
- 52:40Speaker 8: Protect what's important.
- 52:41Speaker 3: To How do we do that started?
- 52:44Speaker 11: Let's go guy, I don't know how that started anyways,
- 52:48Speaker 11: it looks like, well we're anyway tomorrow, So timely hitting forward.
- 52:57Speaker 10: I was.
- 52:59Speaker 3: Stun up a bit just you started the other day.
- 53:02Speaker 3: We started the episode with this rent.
- 53:03Speaker 2: I know, well she is.
- 53:05Speaker 3: I mean, listen to me, she's a nobody that I don't.
- 53:08Speaker 3: I don't and I really and I thought I thought
- 53:10Speaker 3: you would be lucky to Richard like me.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Richard Jefferson. Jefferson was her counterpart, and he's like, hey,
- 53:16Speaker 2: that what you're saying doesn't even back up the stats.
- 53:19Speaker 3: She keeps talking, Yes, okay, because I heard I heard something.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Richard Jefferson's not good either, But I liked him because
- 53:27Speaker 2: you know what, I give credit for him. I think
- 53:28Speaker 2: he's kind of boring. I like Reggie Miller better. Stan
- 53:32Speaker 2: Van Gunn, he's really good. The T and T staff stuff,
- 53:36Speaker 2: I mean, congratulations to them. No, hockey and basketball and
- 53:42Speaker 2: the basketball is done. They're done.
- 53:43Speaker 3: So no, they're still together.
- 53:45Speaker 2: No, it's over. Tn T. Basketball is done.
- 53:47Speaker 3: No, I swear to god. They said they got their
- 53:49Speaker 3: contracts and they're they're No.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Basketball is not on tn T anymore.
- 53:52Speaker 3: Focus.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Their last their last session was the other night when
- 53:58Speaker 2: the Knicks and Pacers were done.
- 54:01Speaker 3: Sure, they said they were. They got the contracts two
- 54:09Speaker 3: days ago. Oh, they're transitioning to ESPN.
- 54:13Speaker 2: All four of them. Yes, let's see. I bet they're
- 54:17Speaker 2: not final episode on T N T uh resources.
- 54:25Speaker 3: We're predicting ESPU.
- 54:29Speaker 2: Uh go down because I think Kenny is not coming.
- 54:36Speaker 2: Not Kenny Ernie is he coming? Well good?
- 54:39Speaker 3: Mhm.
- 54:41Speaker 2: Maybe they're so.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Steven A. Smith. It looks like Stephen A. Smith and
- 54:45Speaker 3: Pat McAfee might have had something to do with those
- 54:47Speaker 3: guys staying together and bring them. They probably took a pay.
- 54:52Speaker 3: I don't know what it was. Some of the speculations.
- 54:56Speaker 2: All of them are over. Is that what we're here?
- 54:58Speaker 2: I mean, is that for sure? I see here, here's
- 55:03Speaker 2: what we're hearing. I don't think it's official. I don't
- 55:06Speaker 2: think anything.
- 55:07Speaker 3: There'll be extensive postgame show.
- 55:12Speaker 8: Uh.
- 55:14Speaker 3: ESPN's goal is to let the postgame segment run as
- 55:16Speaker 3: long as it does.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Know on T and T same guys, Well, good, good,
- 55:20Speaker 2: that's great, that's great.
- 55:22Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
- 55:22Speaker 4: That's like I didn't know they I didn't know they
- 55:24Speaker 4: all made it over.
- 55:26Speaker 3: It looks like so we are going to be back
- 55:28Speaker 3: next week. But it looks like Panthers and Edmund and
- 55:31Speaker 3: are going to go into overtime. We're gonna go check
- 55:34Speaker 3: that out.
- 55:37Speaker 4: It's weird. Twenty seconds. We're gonna watch the end of
- 55:40Speaker 4: anything else.
- 55:41Speaker 2: I really had some research on Dorisburg, but I'm down
- 55:43Speaker 2: with that.
- 55:44Speaker 3: I don't want you to even I don't want you
- 55:45Speaker 3: to bring it up.
- 55:46Speaker 4: I just I just want to tell you is not Thiodeau's.
- 55:50Speaker 4: Thibodau is not going to be a coach next year.
- 55:52Speaker 2: Get on media for a year, dude, and and have
- 55:54Speaker 2: someone appreciate.
- 55:55Speaker 3: You just like Timmy.
- 55:58Speaker 2: No, I mean it's it's good. And he was good
- 56:00Speaker 2: with the bulls too, dude. Derek Rose doesn't have an injury.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Think about that.
- 56:03Speaker 3: Oh no, I'm well aware of that.
- 56:05Speaker 4: I'm you hated him for a little bit, but well.
- 56:07Speaker 3: I'm well aware of I'm well aware of the Dereck
- 56:09Speaker 3: Rose injury and what could have been. It seems like
- 56:14Speaker 3: Chicago has.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Also a quick fact about Chicago. Do you know they
- 56:17Speaker 2: did the coin flip with Dallas and got the twelfth
- 56:20Speaker 2: pick in Dallas or was it twelfth or thirteenth and
- 56:22Speaker 2: Dallas got the twelfth It was they had a coin
- 56:26Speaker 2: and it.
- 56:26Speaker 4: Was Dallas in Chicago, and Dallas.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Won the number one pick. Drafted the pink pongk because
- 56:31Speaker 2: they got that number. Oh, it's kind of like OU
- 56:36Speaker 2: in two thousand. It's like they signed a deal with
- 56:39Speaker 2: the devil. Give us one. You got the Jordan run
- 56:42Speaker 2: and that was it. You're never gonna get it again.
- 56:45Speaker 2: Chicago will never, never ever.
- 56:47Speaker 3: Yeah, but you know what that Jordan run was six years?
- 56:50Speaker 2: It was guy got some juicies.
- 56:52Speaker 4: What do you get how we made four?
- 56:54Speaker 2: I think in one one?
- 56:57Speaker 3: No, I mean, he was the best.
- 56:59Speaker 2: He was the best. He was.
- 57:00Speaker 4: He was the best player he was in general.
- 57:02Speaker 3: He was a Floria.
- 57:03Speaker 2: But you know what's great about Chicago basketball, and I
- 57:05Speaker 2: still give them credit. Their teams are not very good.
- 57:08Speaker 2: They kind of play into the playoffs well, but I
- 57:10Speaker 2: still think they practically lead every year. And I don't
- 57:15Speaker 2: know about this year, but they're always towards the top
- 57:18Speaker 2: of attendance, which is great for Chicago basketball.
- 57:21Speaker 3: Now people have going to the games. It's just the
- 57:24Speaker 3: problem is is that we're mediocre. We're middle of the road.
- 57:29Speaker 3: We make the playoffs, but we only make the playoffs.
- 57:32Speaker 3: Isn't playing We're in June. Give us two about July, folks,
- 57:38Speaker 3: No August. We will do our football predictions that's coming up.
- 57:42Speaker 3: I'm gonna pull all that information.
- 57:45Speaker 2: I can't wait for football college in three to three.
- 57:50Speaker 2: We're going to overtime for this game one of Stanley Cup.
- 57:53Speaker 2: I hope to Game one tomorrow.
- 57:54Speaker 3: Is win proposals or college an NFL schedules what we're
- 58:04Speaker 3: gonna go.
- 58:04Speaker 2: I wanted to bring up I'm probably kind of mumbling now,
- 58:06Speaker 2: but I kind of wanted to talk about some over
- 58:08Speaker 2: under stuff. And by the way, thunder Thursday series are
- 58:13Speaker 2: a little different now. Thunders Thursday Game one seven thirty
- 58:17Speaker 2: our time Game two.
- 58:18Speaker 4: It until Sunday.
- 58:20Speaker 2: I'm not doing a Saturday Sunday, yes, and then we
- 58:23Speaker 2: skip two more days. We go Wednesday and Friday in
- 58:27Speaker 2: the Pacerville and then after Friday's game skips cleared on
- 58:30Speaker 2: Monday and Thursday, June twenty June twenty second could.
- 58:36Speaker 4: Potentially be the last day.
- 58:39Speaker 2: Well, I'll go back to that picture of the hundreds.
- 58:40Speaker 2: What's that for a different story? Anyway, I thought I
- 58:44Speaker 2: was looking real quick. I thought it took a picture
- 58:46Speaker 2: of God. I really thought I did.
- 58:53Speaker 3: Of just memes and no, I just I things in
- 58:57Speaker 3: the yard. Somebody's that was.
- 59:00Speaker 2: At the park.
- 59:04Speaker 3: I don't know what he's doing. Here we go.
- 59:06Speaker 2: I just I wanted to bring this up and I
- 59:07Speaker 2: want you to ponder this as we get an NFL.
- 59:10Speaker 2: I paid quarterbacks in the NFL on a per year basis,
- 59:14Speaker 2: not over year over years, just per year. Dak Prescott
- 59:19Speaker 2: number one, sixty million.
- 59:21Speaker 3: Yeah, he's still riding that contract.
- 59:22Speaker 2: Joe Burrow fifty five million.
- 59:24Speaker 3: Josh, that's a new contract.
- 59:26Speaker 2: Hey, it's I'm just going into the year. It's it's
- 59:28Speaker 2: per year. Jordan Love fifty five million. Trevor Lawrence fifty
- 59:32Speaker 2: five Mini. Your guy, Trevor Lawrence will be MVP and
- 59:36Speaker 2: Super Bowl quarterback and no time. Yes, no, it wasn't.
- 59:39Speaker 2: It was you.
- 59:40Speaker 3: Oh I did if I did it. I did it.
- 59:41Speaker 3: Just a fuck with you. I don't like Trevor. Doesn't
- 59:44Speaker 3: like Trevor Lawrence in college.
- 59:45Speaker 2: Fifty three million. Oh yeah, Defense one on that brought
- 59:49Speaker 2: party fifty three million.
- 59:52Speaker 3: That's the one super Bully three years.
- 59:58Speaker 2: I don't think brought party makes the play of some
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: three years. Super Bowl in three years and Jared GoF
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: fifty three million starting center just quit. By the way,
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: we're tired, really yep, yep, co. So I want to
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: talk here's where I pulled, I founded, and where we're
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: at bat Okay, I just want to briefly bring this up,
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: just to ponder, just to ponder our viewers, the listeners,
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: and my co part or my co host here, cohort whatever,
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: my co the two thousand this is according to FanDuel,
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: So I'm giving them the credit. Twenty twenty five sec
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: wind totals there, No, just just just give me some guesses.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: I want to.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: I want to go down the list, and there's three.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: The highest win totals is nine and a half. Can
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: you believe that?
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: That's it? Really?
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: Yeah, uh, they'll give me the three. It should be easy.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: We've got Georgia, Alabama, Texas.
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: Yep, that's it. That's okay. Now we got three at
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: eight and a half.
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: Mississippi State or Mississippi, uh huh.
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: One surprised me on this one.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Auburn No, no.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: They're not in there yet. Florida no, oh, you.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: Come on.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: An eight and a half.
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: Eight and a half one.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: Team's looks pretty good and I think they're pretty talented.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: They're kind of they make South Carolina, they kind of
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: got a goofy coach. Are they giving the half no,
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: come on, that's what I'm trying to figure out.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: We've got one team really did well, lost their quarterback,
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: which that's why I think they're kind of being weird.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: He needed to get more money and they kicked him
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: off the team.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: Oh Tennessee, Yeah, I forgot about Tennessee.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: I bet them on the under. I think I have
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: a look at their schedule. And then there's another one.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: It's got a goofy coach. It's always talented on defense, offenses,
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: goofy at times. But I think their quarterback comes back.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: We haven't got into that searching yet for sake of guessing.
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: Lsu okay, Oh, I keep I forgot about now myer.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: We got who's coming back?
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: Now?
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: We got four at seven and five? One of them
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: you mentioned earlier, you no, No, two of them you mentioned, Yes,
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: seven and five or seven and a half. I'm saying
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: seven and a half. I'm saying seven and a half wins.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: That's the over under. Yes, Carolina A and M and
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Carolina you mentioned another one already got a quarterback. That's
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: it for Florida. Oh you transfer quarterback? Oh Auburn seven
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: seven and a half? Real? They put us hold on
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: just keep.
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: Talking, and you're missing one. And this is a giggle.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: One thinks big twelve North Oh, Missouri.
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: Seven and five.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: Okay, now we got two six and five? Oh you
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: and Florida. Yes, those are the two teams. I think
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: is gonna surprise, to be honest, And a lot.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: Of people do have the over people. A lot of
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: people do have ou at nine and a half.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: No, that's what they're thinking they're gonna win. I've got
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: an eight or nine wins, right, Okay, you got one
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: at five and a half.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: Uh Louis. Look just Kentucky.
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: No, they're at four and a half. Carolina, No, you
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: already mentioned.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: Seven and a half.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: Oh there seven half, Yeah, you've.
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: Got Okay, the Hogs are five and a half.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: By the so oh god, I forgot about Arkansas.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Now you mentioned Kentucky at four a half. And then
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: you got the two bottom feeders.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: Ole miss and Mississippi State and.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: They're three and a half. And the team that's a
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: special private school that shouldn't even yes, four and a half.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: I don't understame way you don't like to heaven Tulsa,
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: ok A, b Alabama?
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Yeah no, but I think they live in Nico Nico
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: Nico Nico left Tennessee and win to Vandy.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: Vandy had Pavalera.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: Yes, So I was looking at that list and I thought, well,
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: if Oklahoma had legal sports fan which they don't because
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: the governor hates the Indians or whatever is going on there.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: You know what I'm talking about. That's what he calls them,
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: just kidding, that's allegedly, and uh, what we can do
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: about this. We're losing millions and millions a month on
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: people going outside of Oklahoma or legally gambling, and we're
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: still still welcome.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: To spoils allegedly political podcast now, which is ridiculous.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: And I got one more fun fact for.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: You, love Well, you got to remember we lost We
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: lost money every time everybody went out of state to
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: get a tattoo, every time everybody went out of state
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: to get.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: Yeah, we finally figured it out that the beer thing
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: pisses me off to.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: So that's a show and gambling.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: Yes, okay, So I want you to name There's only
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: one person in the NBA history I want you to name,
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: and this should be pretty easy for you. Rookie of
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: the Year m VP Michael Jordan, Finals m VP All
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: Star v Coach.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: Of the year.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Executive.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: That's it.
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: Guess I love that stat That's pretty impressive.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: Yeah, Michael never became a coach or an executive.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Well, he was an executive and he sucked at it.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: He was He was an owner of two different teams.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: He was part owner with the Wizards, and then.
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: Owners are executives.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Stop. He made a ship ton of money selling the Hornets,
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: but they sucked whatever they are, Yes they did. But
