- 0:00Welcome to Pomoja Podcast, a ministry of life
- 0:03of Christ International where we build stronger
- 0:05lives, deeper faith, and Christ -centered homes.
- 0:08One story, one message, and one revelation at
- 0:10a time. I'm your host, Barry Mwamba. When the
- 0:13strong get tired. Episode 3. Warfare Exhaustion.
- 0:17When Heaven Sends Help. Welcome back to another
- 0:20episode of Pomoja Podcast. Before we begin today's
- 0:23conversation, let us remember the journey this
- 0:25series has already taken us through. because
- 0:27every episode has been building toward this moment.
- 0:30In episode 1, we exposed something dangerous.
- 0:33Exhaustion is not always natural. Sometimes it
- 0:36is strategic. We talked about how fatigue has
- 0:38become one of the enemy's most sophisticated
- 0:40weapons against believers. Not always through
- 0:43obvious sin, but through overload, pressure,
- 0:46busyness, constant movement, constant demands,
- 0:49constant noise, until prayer becomes occasional.
- 0:52The word becomes secondary. Church becomes optional.
- 0:55Family becomes neglected. and intimacy with God
- 0:58slowly disappears, not through rebellion, but
- 1:01through exhaustion. We explored how good opportunities,
- 1:04career growth, responsibilities, and daily survival
- 1:06can quietly pull believers away from the very
- 1:09presence sustaining them, because exhaustion
- 1:11weakens discernment, and exhausted believers
- 1:14often begin searching for relief in the wrong
- 1:16places. That was episode 1, Fatigue as a Weapon,
- 1:19The Hidden System. Then in episode 2, we went
- 1:23deeper, because after physical exhaustion comes
- 1:25something even more dangerous, Spiritual weariness,
- 1:28the silent drift, the slow fading of passion.
- 1:32Where people still attend church, still know
- 1:34scripture, still look spiritually alive externally,
- 1:37but internally, the fire no longer burns the
- 1:39same way. We talked about how over -familiarity
- 1:42with holy things can destroy reverence, how believers
- 1:45slowly stop guarding prayer, stop protecting
- 1:48intimacy, stop renewing themselves intentionally,
- 1:51not suddenly, silently. And we explored the warning
- 1:54in Galatians. Let us not become weary in doing
- 1:56good, because spiritual weariness rarely announces
- 1:59itself loudly. It drifts quietly. You stop praying
- 2:02the same way. Stop worshipping the same way.
- 2:05Stop pursuing God with hunger. And before long,
- 2:08you are surviving spiritually, instead of living
- 2:11spiritually. That was Episode 2, Spiritual Weariness,
- 2:14The Silent Drift. And today, we arrive at Episode
- 2:183, because after exhaustion, after spiritual
- 2:21weariness, after prolonged invisible battles,
- 2:24A question remains. What happens when strong
- 2:26believers become overwhelmed by warfare itself?
- 2:29What happens when people love God, remain faithful,
- 2:33continue showing up, but internally feel exhausted
- 2:35from carrying invisible battles? Because some
- 2:38exhaustion does not come from work. Some exhaustion
- 2:41comes from war, spiritual war, mental war, emotional
- 2:44war, invisible resistance. Today, I want to speak
- 2:48openly about something many believers experience,
- 2:51but few truly understand. Spiritual warfare.
- 2:54Not fantasy. Not fear. Not superstition. Reality.
- 2:58Because one of the greatest mistakes believers
- 3:00can make is assuming that because Jesus won the
- 3:02victory at the cross, spiritual battles no longer
- 3:05exist. No. Jesus never denied the existence of
- 3:08warfare. In fact, He acknowledged it openly.
- 3:12In Luke 10 19, after sending out the 70 disciples
- 3:15to preach, heal, and cast out demons, they returned
- 3:18amazed that demons submitted to them in His name.
- 3:21And Jesus responded, Behold, I have given you
- 3:23authority over all the power of the enemy. Think
- 3:26about that carefully. Authority only matters
- 3:29where opposition exists. Jesus would never give
- 3:31authority over an enemy that did not exist, which
- 3:34means spiritual warfare is real. The attacks
- 3:37are real. The resistance is real. The battles
- 3:39are real. Battles against your mind, against
- 3:42your peace, against your marriage, against your
- 3:45purpose, against your spiritual life. And many
- 3:48believers are exhausted today because they are
- 3:50fighting battles they do not fully understand.
- 3:52But here is the powerful truth. The victory of
- 3:55the cross did not remove the reality of warfare.
- 3:58It changed our position within warfare. That
- 4:00changes everything. We do not fight hoping to
- 4:03obtain victory. We fight from victory. Before
- 4:06the battle even begins, our position in Christ
- 4:08already guarantees the final outcome. That is
- 4:11why believers pray with confidence. That is why
- 4:13we seek God's protection. That is why we dwell
- 4:16in His presence. Not because we are afraid, but
- 4:19because we understand that there is an invisible
- 4:21war constantly happening around us. Known battles.
- 4:24Unknown battles. Seen attacks. Unseen attacks.
- 4:28And many times, while you are sleeping, heaven
- 4:30is fighting battles you never even knew existed.
- 4:33The Bible says, In camps. That is military language.
- 4:41A surrounding. A heavenly perimeter. a wall of
- 4:45invisible protection around the people of God.
- 4:48And throughout scripture, whenever believers
- 4:50reached moments of exhaustion, fear, pressure,
- 4:53or danger, heaven intervened. Sometimes through
- 4:57strength, sometimes through direction, sometimes
- 5:01through angels. I remember my own car accident.
- 5:05My truck lost control and was headed directly
- 5:07toward an electrical pole. The impact should
- 5:10have hit my door, the driver's side, my side.
- 5:13And somehow, at the last second, the truck shifted
- 5:17forward. The pole struck the passenger side instead.
- 5:21And even today, I still cannot naturally explain
- 5:24what happened. But spiritually, I understand
- 5:27something now. Sometimes heaven intervenes silently.
- 5:31Sometimes God protects you without announcing
- 5:33it publicly. And sometimes, what people call
- 5:36luck, was divine intervention. Many believers
- 5:40listening to me right now have testimonies like
- 5:42that. You should not have survived that sickness.
- 5:45That accident should have destroyed you. That
- 5:48depression should have buried you. That addiction
- 5:50should have consumed you. That relationship should
- 5:53have ruined your destiny. But somehow, you are
- 5:56still standing. And maybe the reason is simple.
- 6:00Heaven stepped in. And one of the most powerful
- 6:03examples in scripture to me is Gideon. Because
- 6:06Gideon shows us what warfare exhaustion looks
- 6:09like. When the angel appeared to Gideon, He was
- 6:12hiding. Fear had exhausted him. Israel had suffered
- 6:16under Midianite oppression for years. Their harvests
- 6:19were stolen. Their peace was stolen. Their confidence
- 6:22was stolen. And Gideon was threshing wheat and
- 6:26hiding. That is warfare exhaustion. That is what
- 6:30prolonged invisible battles do to people. Strong
- 6:33people begin living small. Chosen people begin
- 6:36hiding. Believers begin questioning themselves.
- 6:40and heaven stepped directly into Gideon's exhaustion.
- 6:44What is powerful is this. The angel did not speak
- 6:46to Gideon according to his condition. The angel
- 6:49spoke to Gideon according to heaven's perspective.
- 6:52Mighty man of valor. Imagine hearing that while
- 6:56hiding in fear. Because sometimes exhausted believers
- 6:59cannot see themselves correctly anymore. And
- 7:02divine intervention often begins when heaven
- 7:04reminds you who you are before the battle is
- 7:07over. And this pattern repeats throughout scripture.
- 7:11An angel strengthened Elijah when exhaustion
- 7:13made him want to die under the broom tree. An
- 7:16angel strengthened Jesus in Gethsemane before
- 7:18the cross. An angel delivered Peter from prison.
- 7:22Because heaven understands something many people
- 7:24ignore, battles can exhaust even strong believers.
- 7:29On some of you listening today know exactly what
- 7:31I mean. There are moments where the spiritual
- 7:34atmosphere becomes heavy. You feel pressure you
- 7:37cannot explain naturally. You feel urgency in
- 7:40your spirit. And something inside you says, pray
- 7:43now, not tomorrow, not later, now. There have
- 7:48been nights where I woke up in the middle of
- 7:50the night, woke up my wife and children, and
- 7:52we began praying together with authority. Not
- 7:55emotional prayer, authority prayer. Because spiritually,
- 8:00you could sense resistance. You could feel the
- 8:02heaviness. And after praying, Peace would suddenly
- 8:06return, the atmosphere would clear, and we would
- 8:09begin thanking God for his intervention. We may
- 8:13never fully know what battle was happening in
- 8:15the unseen realm, but one thing was certain,
- 8:18victory came. Because prayer is not passive,
- 8:22prayer is warfare. Daniel prayed and angels fought
- 8:25through resistance. Paul and Silas worshipped
- 8:28and chains broke open. Peter prayed and prison
- 8:31doors opened. Meaning prayer moves heaven into
- 8:34earthly battles. But this is also why believers
- 8:37become weary spiritually. Long exposure to warfare
- 8:41can drain people. Even strong believers become
- 8:44tired. And this is where the solution becomes
- 8:46important. Not fear. Not panic. Not obsession
- 8:50with demons. No. The solution is intentional
- 8:54spiritual living. Being aware of spiritual reality.
- 8:58Protecting your intimacy with God. Living a life
- 9:01of prayer. a life of sanctification, a life of
- 9:05purity, a life of fasting, a life of meditation
- 9:08on God's Word, a life led by the Holy Spirit.
- 9:12Because spiritual authority does not come from
- 9:14religious language, it comes from relationship.
- 9:18And that is why the story of the seven sons of
- 9:20Sceva is so important. They tried to cast out
- 9:23demons saying, In the name of Jesus whom Paul
- 9:26preaches. And the demon responded, Jesus I know,
- 9:31Paul I know. But who are you? That statement
- 9:34reveals something powerful. The spiritual realm
- 9:37recognizes authentic intimacy with God. Authority
- 9:41flows from relationship, not performance, not
- 9:44appearance, not religious talk. Relationship.
- 9:49It is not enough to know about God. You must
- 9:52know Him personally, experience Him personally,
- 9:54walk with Him personally. Jesus said, whoever
- 9:57dwells in Me and I in him. That word dwells is
- 10:01powerful, not visiting occasionally, dwelling
- 10:04continuously, remaining connected to His presence
- 10:07daily. And today, through the Holy Spirit, God
- 10:10dwells within us. That is why sanctification
- 10:13matters. That is why purity matters. That is
- 10:16why prayer matters. Because the believer becomes
- 10:18a dwelling place for God's presence. And this
- 10:21is the encouragement I want to leave with you
- 10:23today. Yes, the spiritual journey is warfare.
- 10:26Yes, the battles are real. Yes, believers can
- 10:29become weary, but we are not fighting alone.
- 10:32We do not carry this journey by our own strength,
- 10:35not by might, not by power, but by the Spirit
- 10:38of God. And sometimes, the reason you survived
- 10:42was not because you were strong enough, it was
- 10:44because Heaven intervened. Let's pray. Father,
- 10:47thank you for every unseen battle you protected
- 10:50us from. Thank you for every silent intervention,
- 10:53every unseen victory, every moment Heaven fought
- 10:56on our behalf. Strengthen every weary believer
- 11:00listening today. Restore spiritual hunger. Restore
- 11:03discernment. Restore prayer lives. Restore intimacy
- 11:06with you. Teach us to remain connected to your
- 11:09presence. Help us live lives of purity, sanctification,
- 11:13obedience, and spiritual awareness. And remind
- 11:16us daily that we do not fight alone. In Jesus'
- 11:19name, Amen. Thank you for joining me today on
