- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in scripture and relevant for today, March 31st.
- 0:11Hope that holds. Waiting can wear on the heart.
- 0:15When you have prayed for something again and again, when
- 0:17you have hoped for change, healing, clarity, or
- 0:20breakthrough and nothing seems to move, it can start to feel
- 0:23heavy. Proverbs chapter 13 verse 12
- 0:26says hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire
- 0:30fulfilled is a tree of life. That verse understands something
- 0:33very human. Delayed.
- 0:35Hope hurts, waiting is not always easy, and disappointment
- 0:39can quietly drain your strength if you are not careful.
- 0:42But the story does not end there.
- 0:45Proverbs chapter 13 verse 11 says wealth gained hastily will
- 0:49dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase
- 0:52it. God often works little by
- 0:54little. He grows things steadily.
- 0:57He forms character patiently. He builds faith over time.
- 1:01And Psalm 37, verses 3 to 4 says trust in the Lord and do good.
- 1:06Dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
- 1:10Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires
- 1:12of your heart. That is such a strong and tender
- 1:15invitation. Trust while you wait.
- 1:17Do good while you wait. Stay close to faithfulness while
- 1:21you wait. Delight in God while you wait.
- 1:24That means waiting is not wasted space.
- 1:27It is a place where God teaches us to lean on him, not just on
- 1:30outcomes. It is where our desires are
- 1:33deepened, refined, and sometimes even reshaped.
- 1:37Sometimes we think we are waiting only for an answer, but
- 1:40God is also growing us in the process.
- 1:43Maybe you are carrying a hope that feels delayed right now, a
- 1:46prayer that seems unanswered, a promise that feels far away, a
- 1:50need that still hurts. God sees that he is not distant
- 1:55from your disappointment, He is present in it, and he is still
- 1:58trustworthy even when the timing feels difficult.
- 2:01Hope that holds is not hope built on perfect circumstances.
- 2:06It is hope anchored in the character of God.
- 2:08His timing is wise, His love is steady.
- 2:11His work is often quiet, but it is never absent.
- 2:14So keep trusting. Keep doing good, keep taking the
- 2:18next faithful step. Little by little, God is at work
- 2:21in ways you may not yet see. And when your heart grows tired,
- 2:24return to Him, not just for what he can give, but for who He is.
- 2:29Because the deepest hope is not only that God will come through,
- 2:33it is that God Himself is near faithful and enough.
- 2:36Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
- 2:39being faithful when waiting feels hard.
- 2:42You see the hopes I carry and the places where my heart feels
- 2:45tired. Help me to trust you.
- 2:48Do good and remain steady while I wait for your timing.
- 2:51Teach me to delight in You more than in quick answers and
- 2:54strengthen my heart with hope that holds in Jesus name, Amen.

- 4:26Proverbs chapter 13 verses 11 to 12 World English Bible Wealth
- 4:31gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand
- 4:35makes it grow. Hope deferred makes the heart
- 4:37sick, but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.
- 4:41Psalm chapter 37 World English Bible by David Don't fret
- 4:47because of evil doers, neither be envious against those who
- 4:49work unrighteousness, for they shall soon be cut down like the
- 4:53grass and wither like the green herb.
- 4:55Trust in Yahweh and do good. Dwell in the land and enjoy safe
- 4:59pasture. Also.
- 5:00Delight yourself in Yahweh and He will give you the desires of
- 5:03your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh.
- 5:06Trust also in Him, and He will do this.
- 5:08He will make your righteousness shine out like light and your
- 5:11justice as the noonday sun. Rest in Yahweh and wait
- 5:15patiently for Him. Don't fret because of Him who
- 5:17prospers in His way, because of the man who makes wicked plots
- 5:21happen. Cease from anger and forsake
- 5:23wrath. Don't fret.
- 5:25It leads only to evil doing, for evil doers shall be cut off.
- 5:29But those who wait for Yahweh shall inherit the land, for yet
- 5:32a little while, and the wicked will be no more.
- 5:34Yes, though you look for his place, he isn't there.
- 5:37But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight
- 5:40themselves in the abundance of peace.
- 5:42The wicked plots against the just and gnashes at him with his
- 5:45teeth. The Lord will laugh at him, for
- 5:48he sees that his day is coming. The wicked have drawn out the
- 5:51sword, and have bent their bow to cast down the poor and needy
- 5:54to kill those who are upright on the path.
- 5:57Their sword shall enter into their own heart.
- 5:59Their bows shall be broken. Better is a little that the
- 6:02righteous has than the abundance of many wicked.
- 6:05For the arms of the wicked shall be broken.
- 6:07But Yahweh upholds the righteous.
- 6:09Yahweh knows the days of the perfect.
- 6:12Their inheritance shall be forever.
- 6:14They shall not be disappointed in the time of evil.
- 6:16In the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
- 6:19But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of Yahweh shall be
- 6:22like the beauty of the fields. They will vanish, vanish like
- 6:26smoke. The wicked borrow and don't pay
- 6:28back, but the righteous give generously.
- 6:30For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land.
- 6:33Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.
- 6:36A man's steps are established by Yahweh.
- 6:39He delights in his way. Though he stumble, he shall not
- 6:42fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand.
- 6:44I have been young, and now I'm old, yet I have not seen the
- 6:47righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.
- 6:51All day long. He deals graciously and lends.
- 6:54His offspring is blessed. Depart from evil and do good,
- 6:57live securely forever. For Yahweh loves justice and
- 7:00doesn't forsake his Saints. They are preserved forever.
- 7:03But the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
- 7:06The righteous shall inherit the land and live in it forever.
- 7:09The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom.
- 7:11His tongue speaks justice. The law of his God is in his
- 7:15heart. None of his steps shall slide.
- 7:17The wicked watch the righteous and seek to kill him.
- 7:20Yahweh will not leave him in His hand nor condemn him when he is
- 7:23judged. Wait for Yahweh and keep His
- 7:26way, and He will exalt you to inherit the land.
- 7:29When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
- 7:31I have seen the wicked in great power, spreading himself like a
- 7:34green tree in its native soil. But he passed away, and behold,
- 7:38he was not. Yes, I sought him, but he could
- 7:41not be found. Mark the perfect man and see the
- 7:44upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.
- 7:47As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together.
- 7:50The future of the wicked shall be cut off, but the salvation of
- 7:53the righteous is from Yahweh. He is their stronghold in the
- 7:57time of trouble. Yahweh helps them and rescues
- 7:59them. He rescues them from the wicked
- 8:02and saves them because they have taken refuge in Him.
