- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio. Oh look at Kansas City. Everybody had a
- 0:21Speaker 1: beautiful day. We'll pretend their sun.
- 0:24Speaker 2: The sun's going to be shining on Thursday.
- 0:26Speaker 1: However, for Night number one of the NFL Draft, it's
- 0:28Speaker 1: presented by Barizon. We are two big days away from
- 0:32Speaker 1: finally finally getting this thing going. We're happy, however, to
- 0:35Speaker 1: get this thing going. Which is a Tuesday edition of
- 0:38Speaker 1: NFL Now on NFL Network, presented by IKEA. From our
- 0:41Speaker 1: newsroom in Los Angeles, my name is Andrew Siciliano. That
- 0:44Speaker 1: right down there is the world's most interesting former offensive lineman,
- 0:48Speaker 1: Brian Boldinger with the great draft week suits.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Well, yes, this is all all lay away. Of course
- 0:54Speaker 2: you have it. It's like Batman, you open up the
- 0:56Speaker 2: closet just for draft weeks.
- 0:58Speaker 1: He always well dress. Steve White's good to see you, sir.
- 1:02Speaker 1: But we're also here to talk about Aaron Rodgers. As
- 1:04Speaker 1: we said yesterday, it was forty days, forty days since
- 1:07Speaker 1: he said it was his intent to play for the
- 1:11Speaker 1: Jets until the deal was actually made. In essence, his
- 1:14Speaker 1: exodus took forty days, not forty years, as they were
- 1:17Speaker 1: wandering through the draft deserts until finally the deal was
- 1:20Speaker 1: done yesterday.
- 1:22Speaker 2: They do a pick swap, they do it two, and
- 1:25Speaker 2: they do.
- 1:25Speaker 1: A conditional pick next year, which could become a one
- 1:30Speaker 1: if Aaron Rodgers plays sixty five percent of the plays
- 1:35Speaker 1: this season. Here for them New York Jets, the Jets
- 1:39Speaker 1: GM Joe Douglas on the podium moments ago in Floram Park,
- 1:44Speaker 1: who woke up to this back page headline of the
- 1:47Speaker 1: Daily News. Jets have a QB rejoice. Get used to
- 1:55Speaker 1: the back pages. Sometimes they're nice and sometimes they're not.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Let's go live to Kansas City now in and rapid
- 2:00Speaker 1: Ward Tom pelsero OWUR NFL Network Insiders live actually where
- 2:04Speaker 1: the draft is going to go down in forty eight hours.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Gentlemen, Good afternoon to you.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Joe Douglas also said on that podium ian that the
- 2:10Speaker 1: pick swap in the first round going thirteen to fifteen
- 2:14Speaker 1: here was really the key final piece to fall into
- 2:18Speaker 1: place for this deal to go through yesterday.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say one of the final pieces they
- 2:23Speaker 3: are going from thirteen to fifteen. Obviously, it does mean
- 2:27Speaker 3: that Jets could potentially lose out on one of the
- 2:28Speaker 3: top tackles if that is a position they want to hit,
- 2:31Speaker 3: but nothing more important than getting Aaron Rodgers. So yeah,
- 2:35Speaker 3: I would say that was probably one of the final pieces.
- 2:38Speaker 3: And then maybe one of the most consequential pieces of
- 2:40Speaker 3: this whole thing was coming off was the Green Bay
- 2:43Speaker 3: Packers being willing to come off a hard first rounder
- 2:46Speaker 3: and agreeing to some conditions. That certainly was something that
- 2:51Speaker 3: helped this deal get across the finish line. And the
- 2:54Speaker 3: word you heard from Joe Douglas are probably what you
- 2:56Speaker 3: would expect. Trying to tamp down an expectation just a
- 2:59Speaker 3: little bit. He knows everyone's talking Super Bowl or bust.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I'm really talking much about whether or not Rodgers is
- 3:04Speaker 3: going to be there ROTI traditionally, of course he has not,
- 3:08Speaker 3: and saying that they expect this to be a good
- 3:10Speaker 3: thing for Zach Wilson. It is clear they have not
- 3:12Speaker 3: given up on Zach Wilson. Him and Rodgers have a friendship.
- 3:15Speaker 3: So this actually could work out for now and then
- 3:18Speaker 3: maybe for the future if Zach can become what they.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Hope he is.
- 3:23Speaker 5: Nathaniel Hackett has never shied away from quarterback projects. Obviously,
- 3:26Speaker 5: he won a lot of games with Blake Bortles, He's
- 3:28Speaker 5: worked with different guys in his career. That something Hackett
- 3:31Speaker 5: is going to embrace. Aaron Rodgers thirty nine years old
- 3:33Speaker 5: at this point. He's not going to hold back in
- 3:35Speaker 5: terms of, at least to some degree, taking Zach Wilson
- 3:38Speaker 5: under his wing. They do have a lot of similarities
- 3:40Speaker 5: between the two of them. They play the game in
- 3:43Speaker 5: certain aspects a similar way too. I would anticipate that
- 3:45Speaker 5: this is a really good relationship that could be a
- 3:47Speaker 5: great thing for Zach Wilson as we move into the future.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Here.
- 3:51Speaker 5: Also notable there that Joe Douglas said, you know, they
- 3:54Speaker 5: have not yet crossed the finish line. That's because there's
- 3:56Speaker 5: some procedural things that need to take place before this
- 3:58Speaker 5: deal can be done. Rogers has to sign a revised
- 4:01Speaker 5: contract with the Packers to help their CAP and facilitate
- 4:05Speaker 5: the deal. The Packers then have to hold that contract
- 4:08Speaker 5: on their CAP for twenty four hours, so sometime after
- 4:11Speaker 5: four pm Eastern time tomorrow. Assuming Rogers signs the contract today,
- 4:16Speaker 5: then the trade paperwork will be submitted, Aaron Rodgers will
- 4:18Speaker 5: pass a physical and officially Andrew will become a member
- 4:21Speaker 5: of the new York Jens.
- 4:22Speaker 2: But that's got to get done.
- 4:23Speaker 1: All of that's got to get done in that twenty
- 4:25Speaker 1: four hour window there for the cap and on their books,
- 4:27Speaker 1: has to be done before pick thirteen is actually on
- 4:30Speaker 1: the clock, coming up on Thursday. Before we let you go,
- 4:34Speaker 1: I want to say, well done. Can we throw this
- 4:36Speaker 1: up here on the screen. You two went like, wow,
- 4:40Speaker 1: out of control barbecue last night?
- 4:42Speaker 2: Did you clean your plates? Did you eat all those ribs? No?
- 4:48Speaker 3: No, Now, we ate all the burd ends, we ate
- 4:51Speaker 3: all the almost, all the brisky, we ate all the
- 4:53Speaker 3: pope pork, we ate all the turkey, we ate all
- 4:57Speaker 3: the sausage. But there were a couple of ribs left over.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Our guy, Mitch was killing it.
- 5:02Speaker 5: Meet Mitch an old series of barbecues as champion. UH
- 5:07Speaker 5: has a place over in Leewood, Kansas, so it was
- 5:09Speaker 5: gracious enough to have us in there. Big fan NFL Network,
- 5:12Speaker 5: big fan of all the shows here too, says he
- 5:14Speaker 5: doesn't even change the Changle channel. So hi once again, Mitch,
- 5:17Speaker 5: thanks for the me.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Thank you how much for just one rib? Someone once
- 5:20Speaker 1: asked Hall of Famer Jim Brown, Thank you guys. In
- 5:25Speaker 1: the meantime, the Packers went from a Hall of Famer
- 5:27Speaker 1: out of Jordan Love, who may one day reached Canton
- 5:30Speaker 1: as well.
- 5:31Speaker 2: We just don't know.
- 5:32Speaker 1: He hasn't really played it hasn't really played at all.
- 5:35Speaker 1: But now it is. His ballgame is yesterday. Brian gouda
- 5:39Speaker 1: Kunz finally did the deal.
- 5:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:43Speaker 7: I think he's excited.
- 5:43Speaker 8: You know, he was.
- 5:44Speaker 7: He popped in a month ago or so for a
- 5:47Speaker 7: few days and then obviously he's been back since. He
- 5:48Speaker 7: you know, maybe a week four or five days before
- 5:51Speaker 7: the off season program started. So you know, I think,
- 5:56Speaker 7: you know, he's uh. I think he's eager for his opportunity.
- 5:59Speaker 7: I just think, you know, as we move forward, you know,
- 6:02Speaker 7: we're really excited where Jordan can go. He needs to
- 6:04Speaker 7: pull and having him sit another year, I think what
- 6:08Speaker 7: really delayed kind of you know, where we're going and
- 6:10Speaker 7: what we're trying to build, all right.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Brian Guducunz now tries to build around him. Hih.
- 6:14Speaker 1: There Stacy Dale, who's in Indie, but we'll talk Packers
- 6:17Speaker 1: here because you're there all the time. Wow, Goody builds
- 6:20Speaker 1: around him with not pick fifteen, but pick thirteen.
- 6:24Speaker 2: That could change things for Thursday nights. That is right,
- 6:29Speaker 2: you got to ding on yourself. Cheen yards on me?
- 6:33Speaker 2: Got you fifteen yards on me? Yep, oh penalty.
- 6:39Speaker 9: Hey listen, the Packers now have eleven picks in this draft,
- 6:42Speaker 9: and one thing that stands out that Brian Kuducunz spoke
- 6:44Speaker 9: on yesterday was we value volume. He said, I'd rather
- 6:47Speaker 9: have more picks, more volume, and so moving back is
- 6:52Speaker 9: always an option. They add that second rounder via the Jets.
- 6:55Speaker 9: They move to thirteen from fifteen because of that Jets
- 6:58Speaker 9: trade with Aaron Rodgers. But I see them moving back
- 7:01Speaker 9: is Listen, the Packers never really do anything sexy in
- 7:04Speaker 9: the draft and turn of some of these first round
- 7:06Speaker 9: picks we all want like a Jackson Smith and jigbas
- 7:09Speaker 9: So I'm not going to say anything sexy here. I
- 7:11Speaker 9: think maybe they move back Andrew out of that thirteenth
- 7:14Speaker 9: pick to stay in the first round, maybe a late
- 7:18Speaker 9: teen or an early twenty tight pick, and add something
- 7:21Speaker 9: maybe in the third, fourth or fifth round. Right now,
- 7:24Speaker 9: they've got two two's, they've got one three, one four,
- 7:28Speaker 9: and one five. So maybe that target area is where
- 7:31Speaker 9: they could add something in this draft. And I'm looking
- 7:33Speaker 9: at tight end. I know again that's not sexy, but
- 7:36Speaker 9: they haven't drafted a wide receiver in the first round
- 7:38Speaker 9: since two thousand and two. It is a deep tight
- 7:40Speaker 9: end group, but the ones at the top are really good.
- 7:43Speaker 9: Dalton Kincaid, Sam Laporta. How about Darnel Washington, who's massive,
- 7:47Speaker 9: who would just absolutely add to that offensive line. With
- 7:50Speaker 9: the loss of Mercedes Lewis, I think maybe a tight
- 7:53Speaker 9: end could be an option, though again, they could surprise us.
- 7:56Speaker 9: They could go O line. Somebody needs to play opposite
- 7:59Speaker 9: David Baktiari, who's had injury issues. Maybe it's a defensive player,
- 8:03Speaker 9: as we've seen most recently. They took too in the
- 8:06Speaker 9: first round last season.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Well, we'll surprise you. We had a tweet for Ian
- 8:09Speaker 1: and Tom. I have a tweet for you as well.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Stacy Dale's. Your your whiteboard has its own Twitter account.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Remember invented yesterday? Stacy, you left me at home. You
- 8:20Speaker 1: didn't pack the whiteboard.
- 8:24Speaker 9: I'll hit up a office depot Andrews here.
- 8:28Speaker 2: I got you. You know what I got you at
- 8:31Speaker 2: the stupid ping. I apologize, Stacey Dale's.
- 8:35Speaker 9: I'm going to make sure my phone's on. I'm going
- 8:37Speaker 9: to make sure my phone's on for my next Tad.
- 8:39Speaker 1: You interrupt me every time I open my mouth. Please,
- 8:42Speaker 1: thank you, Stacy. Bucky Brooks's final mock draft. Everybody has
- 8:47Speaker 1: Bryce Young one, but has Tyree Wilson going to and
- 8:54Speaker 1: c J. Stroud getting the four man. Okay, but we
- 9:01Speaker 1: still do think as Bryce Young number one. Cam Wolf
- 9:04Speaker 1: is live with the Carolina Panthers now as they look
- 9:08Speaker 1: to build around whomever I Cam that quarterback may be,
- 9:11Speaker 1: not only with the pieces they've brought in so far,
- 9:14Speaker 1: but the piece is on the coaching staff.
- 9:17Speaker 2: It's a veritable.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Who's who there that they've hired there to help build
- 9:23Speaker 1: this quarterback up.
- 9:25Speaker 10: Yeah, Andrew, the Panthers coaches are actually leading an OTA
- 9:29Speaker 10: practice today right now adjacent to the stadium behind me,
- 9:32Speaker 10: and it's one of their last practices without their new
- 9:36Speaker 10: young quarterback.
- 9:37Speaker 8: And look, we have been talking about it throughout the week.
- 9:40Speaker 10: The Panthers at this point when you talk to people
- 9:42Speaker 10: around the league, are expected to take Alabama's Bryce Young
- 9:45Speaker 10: with the first overall pick. But they've already started to
- 9:47Speaker 10: build this offense with him and Matt Mitt and office
- 9:51Speaker 10: of coordinator Thomas Brown is the one that's putting together
- 9:54Speaker 10: this playbook. He actually talked to the Panthers site about
- 9:56Speaker 10: a month ago about what he's looking for in his quarterback.
- 9:59Speaker 10: He said, I want to point guard, a distributor, a
- 10:02Speaker 10: guy who can get the ball to us playmakers, but
- 10:04Speaker 10: on third down situations in the red zone can be superman.
- 10:08Speaker 10: And we've seen time and time again Bryce Young be
- 10:10Speaker 10: that point guard but also can work outside of scheme.
- 10:14Speaker 8: We talk about that coaching staff.
- 10:15Speaker 10: They've got Frank Wright, who's been an NFL quarterback, who
- 10:18Speaker 10: has coached a bunch of different NFL quarterbacks throughout his career.
- 10:21Speaker 10: We've got Thomas Brown, Josh McCown, Jim Calwell. Really a
- 10:25Speaker 10: who's the guys that you want for your young quarterback
- 10:28Speaker 10: in that building? And a quick glimpse on maybe what
- 10:30Speaker 10: that offense looks like. Running back Miles Sanders says, expect
- 10:34Speaker 10: a lot of RPOs, run pass options, and he said,
- 10:37Speaker 10: we are not rebuilding.
- 10:39Speaker 8: We're building this offense.
- 10:40Speaker 10: This easy for a quarterback, our rookie quarterback to come
- 10:43Speaker 10: in and have success early in year one. So the
- 10:46Speaker 10: playmakers they're bringing in, but also the coaches they are
- 10:49Speaker 10: surrounding this young quarterback with gives them confidence that there
- 10:52Speaker 10: will not be a hard transition for this player coming
- 10:56Speaker 10: into the NFL.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Remember this team with Steve Wilkes the interim head coach
- 10:59Speaker 1: in charge, was very much in this Week sixteen. If
- 11:03Speaker 1: they held a lead or Week seventeen, big your pardon
- 11:05Speaker 1: against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers in the fourth quarter,
- 11:07Speaker 1: they could have won the division. And they wouldn't have
- 11:10Speaker 1: had the first overall pick or the knife to get
- 11:11Speaker 1: to one.
- 11:12Speaker 2: It would have been too expensive. Thank you, Cam Wolf.
- 11:14Speaker 2: They're live. Stroud on the move, flips of the cross.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Stroud fires deep down to the end zone and it
- 11:22Speaker 4: is crafting the end zone.
- 11:24Speaker 2: C J Stroud, CJ Streuts, de.
- 11:27Speaker 6: Money, Straut doing what he loves to do.
- 11:30Speaker 2: It's a beautiful downfield grow wow with a grown.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Talk about the Texans and talk about number two, and
- 11:37Speaker 1: we'll throw in twelve at the conversation as well.
- 11:40Speaker 2: C J.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Stroud, Tyree Wilson, Chad has will Levis kind of all
- 11:45Speaker 1: over the map here with this idea as we go
- 11:49Speaker 1: live to Houston inside the Texans building with Omar Ruiz
- 11:53Speaker 1: that forty eight hours before the draft and really plans
- 11:55Speaker 1: their line and Houston. Omar started this a couple of
- 11:57Speaker 1: weeks ago this idea that maybe the Texans pass on
- 12:00Speaker 1: a quarterback at two, which at the time seemed like
- 12:03Speaker 1: mind blowing. But let's not forget they have twelve here,
- 12:06Speaker 1: so we have to consider both of these picks in
- 12:09Speaker 1: how they address Thursday Night.
- 12:13Speaker 11: Yeah, Andrew two and twelve, and when you factor in
- 12:16Speaker 11: that they have five total picks in the first seventy
- 12:19Speaker 11: three of this draft, a lot of maneuverability for Nick
- 12:22Speaker 11: Caserio to get through this first couple of days of
- 12:25Speaker 11: the draft. Now they do have that glaring need at quarterback.
- 12:29Speaker 8: Of course, they brought.
- 12:29Speaker 11: In case Keenum to join Davis Mills in that quarterback room.
- 12:34Speaker 11: But Dimiko Ryan cited his first year coaching in the NFL,
- 12:37Speaker 11: the twenty seventeen forty nine Ers, where they started losing
- 12:40Speaker 11: their first nine games. They lost ten of eleven. Then
- 12:43Speaker 11: they traded for Jimmy Garoppolo. He was inserted into the
- 12:46Speaker 11: starting lineup and they won five straights. So he's seen
- 12:49Speaker 11: up close and personal the difference a franchise altrin quarterback
- 12:54Speaker 11: to make. Now they've done their due diligence on all
- 12:56Speaker 11: four of the big quarterbacks that we associated with the
- 12:59Speaker 11: first round. At the same time, Dimiko Ryans and Nick
- 13:02Speaker 11: Cassio have both said they don't want to put all
- 13:05Speaker 11: that pressure on a young quarterback, no matter who they
- 13:09Speaker 11: pick at number two. They said, it makes no sense
- 13:12Speaker 11: to make that player the face of the franchise before
- 13:15Speaker 11: he's ever played a down. But like you mentioned, there
- 13:18Speaker 11: is so much intrigue about what the Texans are going
- 13:21Speaker 11: to do. From people I've spoken with around the league,
- 13:23Speaker 11: there is no clear sense, and perhaps that's by design.
- 13:27Speaker 11: Everything at this point appears to be on the table.
- 13:30Speaker 11: Nick Cassero said he has fielded calls for the number
- 13:33Speaker 11: two pick. He said that it's his duty to listen.
- 13:37Speaker 11: Is he open for business? He's open for listening. And
- 13:39Speaker 11: with that, forty eight hours before the draft, the intrigue
- 13:42Speaker 11: continues surrounding the Houston Texans.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Omar Ruiz will be there Thursday night with the team
- 13:47Speaker 1: picking two. And let's not forget twelve. Thank you, Omar.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Let us find yours.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Throws a dark Let's it gone right on the money.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Love the decision here about will leviis and let us
- 14:02Speaker 2: with the quarter back run drin the first down. It's
- 14:05Speaker 2: the easiest touchdown for will Levice. A lot of buzzz
- 14:10Speaker 2: last week, it's Will Levis. The Colts are are looking
- 14:13Speaker 2: at are they? I don't know. Here's what our latest
- 14:16Speaker 2: mocks have.
- 14:17Speaker 1: And by the way, DJ and Buck, DJ and Charles
- 14:19Speaker 1: Rather have their final mocks coming out tomorrow.
- 14:22Speaker 2: But it goes from Anthony Richardson at four to C. J.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Stroud to Will Levis to Lands their line throwing out there.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Maybe they just trade for Lamar, although that was pre
- 14:31Speaker 1: OBJ trade or OBJ signing, so I don't think that's
- 14:35Speaker 1: going to happen regardless. As we go live to Stacy
- 14:38Speaker 1: Dale's in Indianapolis to talk number four and Boldi's back
- 14:41Speaker 1: with me as well. Stacy Dale's, I want to read
- 14:43Speaker 1: to you a quote from Chris baalor the Colts GM
- 14:46Speaker 1: last Friday at his pre draft presser quote.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Everybody's lying.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I might be the most honest, unfortunately, but everyone is lying.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Stacy. Was Chris ballor telling the truth.
- 15:02Speaker 9: I don't even not answer that. Isn't that a That's
- 15:06Speaker 9: an oxymoron. Andrew somewhere in this building he's watching us laughing.
- 15:10Speaker 9: He's laughing because he's listening to all these rumors, or
- 15:13Speaker 9: maybe he's not because it's draft week and there are
- 15:16Speaker 9: so many rumors, But what I will tell you is
- 15:19Speaker 9: given the nine picks that they have in this draft
- 15:22Speaker 9: total and the fourth overall, there is a confidence in
- 15:25Speaker 9: this building. The esthetics are different with Shane Steiken here.
- 15:28Speaker 9: They have historical pictures of players, the legends of these
- 15:33Speaker 9: Indianapolis Colts, and they've got the fourth pick overall. And
- 15:36Speaker 9: with that confidence and the ability to be flexible on
- 15:38Speaker 9: draft day because they will be prepared to move up
- 15:41Speaker 9: or move back. I look at this, Baldy and Andrew.
- 15:44Speaker 9: This is to me a generational draft for the Indianapolis Colts.
- 15:47Speaker 9: Why it is the highest draft pick they will have
- 15:50Speaker 9: had if they use it or move up since Andrew
- 15:54Speaker 9: Locke in twenty twelve he went first overall. He was
- 15:57Speaker 9: a quarterback at that point in twenty twelve, he was
- 16:00Speaker 9: the highest draft pick for the Indianapolis Colts since Peyton
- 16:03Speaker 9: Manning in nineteen ninety, who was the first overall pick.
- 16:07Speaker 9: You see the trend I'm going with here. This is
- 16:10Speaker 9: a very important pick. We expect the Colts to use
- 16:12Speaker 9: it on a quarterback. Baldy, which one on their board
- 16:16Speaker 9: they covet most is the question, and who they deem
- 16:19Speaker 9: the best fit that they can build an offense around
- 16:22Speaker 9: with their new head coach and Shane Steiker.
- 16:24Speaker 12: Stacy, I expect you to be a good gum show
- 16:26Speaker 12: in the next hour when you go meet with that
- 16:28Speaker 12: general manager Chris Ballard to find that out.
- 16:32Speaker 2: But I am curious about this, Stacy.
- 16:34Speaker 12: Just how in lockstep Shane Steiken, the new head coach,
- 16:38Speaker 12: and Chris Ballard are when it comes to making this
- 16:41Speaker 12: quarterback selection.
- 16:43Speaker 8: Is it a lens through Shane Steikin's eye.
- 16:47Speaker 12: Who has worked with Philip Rivers and Jalen Hurtz and
- 16:51Speaker 12: Justin Herbert, Or is it Chris Ballard going this is
- 16:55Speaker 12: what we're looking for because we have seen it what
- 16:58Speaker 12: it looks like with Peyton Manning, We've seen what a
- 17:00Speaker 12: quarterback looks like in Angelock. I'm kind of curious how
- 17:03Speaker 12: they're going to work together on this.
- 17:06Speaker 9: Yeah, well, I can tell you Shane Steiken has been
- 17:09Speaker 9: very involved the luxury that Chris Ballard has and by
- 17:12Speaker 9: the way, Shane Styken is here because it was an
- 17:14Speaker 9: immediate marriage and match between the two and between the
- 17:17Speaker 9: staff that Shane wanted to bring in. But the luxury
- 17:20Speaker 9: that he has is what you just talked about. The
- 17:22Speaker 9: aforementioned quarterbacks. He has coached so many different stylistically stylistic quarterbacks,
- 17:28Speaker 9: from Philip Rivers to Jalen Hurts, that not only will
- 17:33Speaker 9: Shane have a voice in this process, but the belief
- 17:37Speaker 9: is that he will curtail an offense around the chosen
- 17:41Speaker 9: guy and be able to use whichever skill set he gets,
- 17:44Speaker 9: whether that's a pocket guy or it's somebody who can
- 17:46Speaker 9: get out on the move. And we'll see maybe Anthony Richardson,
- 17:50Speaker 9: maybe Will Lovis or maybe C. J. Stroud does fall
- 17:53Speaker 9: to four.
- 17:53Speaker 1: We'll see, maybe maybe we use gumshoot next hour as well.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Call it was like a Castlely reference. All right, gumshoe here,
- 18:01Speaker 2: all right, that's it, Thank you, Dale's hands. Robson again,
- 18:11Speaker 2: beach up breaks for you. Poogo Bardi who the Bertie
- 18:14Speaker 2: say your good night to this one? Bee Sha.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Robinson takes it a touchdown and blake side run head out.
- 18:21Speaker 6: Into the yep and all out of the sunline.
- 18:24Speaker 2: That Jon Robins stay who standing touchdown? He speaking at
- 18:29Speaker 2: Gideo Here we go he John here the yup here
- 18:33Speaker 2: to the ends. One touchdown forty one yards and he's
- 18:36Speaker 2: out of Robinson. But take it home.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I have a lot of fun getting ready for the draft,
- 18:43Speaker 1: watching highlights and and I'm not a scout, but I
- 18:46Speaker 1: know what looks awesome. John Robinson highlights are are fun
- 18:50Speaker 1: to watch. Mark drafts are fun as well. Chad's got
- 18:54Speaker 1: him going as highs number eight to Atlanta. He is,
- 18:58Speaker 1: you know, in my eyes, he is the best player
- 19:00Speaker 1: on the draft, and he's joining us Live now Curtesy
- 19:02Speaker 1: of Old Spice Live on NFL Now.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Jean Robinson, how you doing.
- 19:07Speaker 4: I'm doing awesome. I'm doing awesome. How's everything going with you?
- 19:10Speaker 1: Everything is good here in Los Angeles. When you see
- 19:12Speaker 1: those mock drafts, what do you think?
- 19:15Speaker 6: They're just my drafts? So we just we just don't know.
- 19:19Speaker 4: Obviously everybody's you know, we all have opinions, but even
- 19:22Speaker 4: for myself, you know, I just kind of want Thursday
- 19:25Speaker 4: to get here to know.
- 19:27Speaker 6: What team I'm actually going to be on.
- 19:28Speaker 2: You know, yeah, I cannot imagine what that weight must be.
- 19:31Speaker 6: Like.
- 19:31Speaker 2: We saw one of those mocks up there.
- 19:33Speaker 1: A couple of them had the Eagles at ten, which Jon,
- 19:36Speaker 1: I know you've talked about this, You've heard about this,
- 19:37Speaker 1: like that would be the most nony, like the.
- 19:40Speaker 2: The Eagles don't do that.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Like they don't take a running back at ten, but
- 19:43Speaker 1: they are one of the two teams that you visited.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Did you get a good feel?
- 19:50Speaker 6: Oh? Absolutely.
- 19:51Speaker 4: I mean for both teams that I visited, Like with Eagles,
- 19:55Speaker 4: it was it was an amazing visit. Coaches, to GM,
- 20:00Speaker 4: to the janitor, the staff, I mean, everybody there was
- 20:04Speaker 4: just amazing and just even me just building those relationships
- 20:07Speaker 4: throughout the draft process, you know, with those guys, it's
- 20:10Speaker 4: been it's been awesome. But yeah, man, I mean every
- 20:13Speaker 4: team that I talk to has has been amazing, and
- 20:15Speaker 4: I think that you know, now I'm just really excited
- 20:17Speaker 4: to see like where I'm gonna end up, uh in
- 20:19Speaker 4: these next couple of days.
- 20:21Speaker 1: The other visit was Tampa. Let's throw the Falcons question
- 20:24Speaker 1: out there. We had one guy up there saying, you,
- 20:27Speaker 1: Chad Ryder could go to the Falcons today, that one
- 20:29Speaker 1: seems to be gaining some late momentum.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Jon, Do you feel that? Do you feel that at all?
- 20:35Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 20:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean even the Falcons, like you know that
- 20:39Speaker 4: that's a that's a great organization. Uh, you know, great coaches.
- 20:42Speaker 4: You know, I had a chance to meet with them
- 20:43Speaker 4: as well. Uh, and it was it was an awesome meeting,
- 20:46Speaker 4: So I kind of see where that's going in uh
- 20:48Speaker 4: and where that's headed at. But obviously, like like I said,
- 20:52Speaker 4: like for me, we.
- 20:54Speaker 6: Just don't know.
- 20:55Speaker 4: Uh, you know, we can have a surprise or we
- 20:59Speaker 4: can you know, anything could happen. But I just know that,
- 21:01Speaker 4: you know, God's gonna put me in the right right team,
- 21:03Speaker 4: right position, and it's gonna be fun wherever I'm at.
- 21:06Speaker 2: You had a great current Texas.
- 21:07Speaker 1: You also made some great friends, one of them being
- 21:10Speaker 1: guy that we see all the time there on the
- 21:11Speaker 1: sideline in Austin one, Matthew McConaughey. And it's more than
- 21:16Speaker 1: the fact that you guys are just buddies. Bjon, you
- 21:19Speaker 1: want to be an actor from when you were a
- 21:21Speaker 1: little kid, not just a football player, but an actor.
- 21:24Speaker 1: So if you're going to be an actor, are you
- 21:26Speaker 1: gonna be like McConaughey and True Detective? Are you more
- 21:29Speaker 1: like Interstellar where you're gonna be an astronaut and save
- 21:31Speaker 1: the Earth?
- 21:32Speaker 2: Are you more like Dazed and Confused? Like what kind
- 21:36Speaker 2: of genre.
- 21:38Speaker 8: I mean?
- 21:39Speaker 4: You know, obviously like it's definitely probably an after football thing,
- 21:43Speaker 4: but you know, maybe by superhero movies, you know, dramas,
- 21:49Speaker 4: rom coms, action films, you know, hopefully, hopefully anything that
- 21:55Speaker 4: makes sense obviously, but you know, we'll definitely see where
- 21:58Speaker 4: that takes me, uh, and where that goes in the future.
- 22:02Speaker 4: But yeah, I mean, Matthew's a he's my guy, man,
- 22:05Speaker 4: that's my guy, another big brother to be and you
- 22:07Speaker 4: know he's taught me a lot and he's had great
- 22:09Speaker 4: time together. So you know, I'm excited to see, like
- 22:12Speaker 4: where the relationship goes in the future for sure.
- 22:15Speaker 2: All Right, all right, I love that you'd say rom Com.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Most guys would just go Marvel, like I want to
- 22:21Speaker 1: wear a superhero suit and save the world.
- 22:23Speaker 2: You went rom Com.
- 22:25Speaker 6: Hey, you gotta you gotta be gotta be versative.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Absolutely, you're running back in what you could play wide receiver,
- 22:33Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Uh, you could be versatile.
- 22:35Speaker 1: For those who don't know, your name means hero. So
- 22:38Speaker 1: I know a lot of teams, whoever they draft you,
- 22:41Speaker 1: their fan base think that you are going to be
- 22:44Speaker 1: a hero. But when we see your highlights beach on,
- 22:46Speaker 1: like I said before, I don't blame them for thinking that.
- 22:50Speaker 1: You said recently that your favorite play of all your
- 22:53Speaker 1: plays as a Longhorn was a run against West Virginia
- 22:58Speaker 1: when you were a freshman.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Tell me why this is your favorite.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that that's definitely my favorite play because
- 23:06Speaker 4: that was kind of the play that you know, started
- 23:09Speaker 4: my career in college football. You know, it showed so
- 23:13Speaker 4: many different skill sets all in one play. Like I
- 23:16Speaker 4: did a spin move, I can see like stiff armed
- 23:18Speaker 4: two dudes dragged the other dude. And after that run, like,
- 23:23Speaker 4: that's when I that's when I just started becoming comfortable
- 23:25Speaker 4: with the game. And that's when the game started slowing
- 23:27Speaker 4: down for me.
- 23:28Speaker 6: Uh.
- 23:29Speaker 4: And that's all I knew that I could put all
- 23:31Speaker 4: the all the talent and all the gifts that that
- 23:33Speaker 4: God's given me on the football field. So that's why
- 23:36Speaker 4: I say that's my favorite run ever, just because that's
- 23:40Speaker 4: the play right there, that that I felt immediately comfortable
- 23:43Speaker 4: in when I started saying on the football field.
- 23:46Speaker 2: For the record, they blew it dead. We didn't show
- 23:48Speaker 2: you scoring because they said you were out of bounds.
- 23:50Speaker 1: I don't think you actually ran out of bounds, But
- 23:52Speaker 1: you know, I don't have the other angle to prove
- 23:54Speaker 1: that you didn't run out of bounds, did you?
- 23:56Speaker 6: Absolutely not? I was crazy. That was crazy.
- 23:59Speaker 4: The referee that refed that game the year the year
- 24:01Speaker 4: later was like, yeah, may at a bound.
- 24:05Speaker 6: I don't know why. I was like, that's crazy, that's crazy,
- 24:09Speaker 6: all right.
- 24:09Speaker 2: So let's let's add it.
- 24:10Speaker 1: So your freshman year, you actually scored seven touchdowns there,
- 24:14Speaker 1: not six, all right, So we'll all add that one
- 24:16Speaker 1: to the list. You're obviously there with Old Spice and
- 24:20Speaker 1: John tell Us where you're done with them.
- 24:22Speaker 4: Yeah, So you know, I'm really happy to be here
- 24:24Speaker 4: with Old Spice and you know, just to help to
- 24:29Speaker 4: build confidence and mentorship for guys and just empower them
- 24:33Speaker 4: to to want to, you know, really look.
- 24:35Speaker 6: Forward into into mentoring.
- 24:36Speaker 4: And I think that for me for myself, you know,
- 24:38Speaker 4: I've had a lot of great mentors along the way,
- 24:42Speaker 4: from from family, two coaches, and there's there's a guy
- 24:45Speaker 4: named Kevin Washington that that really you know sticks out
- 24:48Speaker 4: to me as a mentor just because you know, my
- 24:51Speaker 4: faith is really a big thing in my life, and
- 24:53Speaker 4: you know, he really helped me out with my faith
- 24:55Speaker 4: and you know, kept that positivity in my in my
- 24:57Speaker 4: life when it came to college and college football and
- 25:01Speaker 4: you know, meeting meeting people, Uh, being a positive I
- 25:05Speaker 4: said to other people.
- 25:07Speaker 6: But you know, there's a.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Lot of kids out there that that don't have that
- 25:10Speaker 4: same mentorship in their life. And I think that, you know,
- 25:14Speaker 4: it's important, you know, for for you know, big Brothers,
- 25:17Speaker 4: Big Sisters wish List that a lot of people signed
- 25:20Speaker 4: up to Old Spice you know, school Swagger and just
- 25:24Speaker 4: because there's over thirty thousand kids that are on the
- 25:28Speaker 4: that are on the you know, wishless to to to
- 25:31Speaker 4: you know, try to graduate high school and they're just
- 25:35Speaker 4: they just need that mentor to to really push them
- 25:37Speaker 4: in the right direction. So I think that it's awesome that,
- 25:40Speaker 4: you know, Old Spices is doing this for kids, and
- 25:43Speaker 4: and I think that for me, just partnering with them,
- 25:45Speaker 4: I believe in that, you know, wholeheartedly, and I think
- 25:48Speaker 4: that it's it's a great opportunity to set something up
- 25:51Speaker 4: for success for those.
- 25:53Speaker 6: Kids and for everybody else. So that's why, that's why
- 25:56Speaker 6: we're here.
- 25:56Speaker 4: And you know, I just love being a part and
- 25:58Speaker 4: it's pretty special to build with Old Spies for sure.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty special. And that's great.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Man well said, can't wait to see what you do
- 26:05Speaker 1: on the field, but also after listening to you there,
- 26:07Speaker 1: can't wait to see what you do in the next
- 26:10Speaker 1: community that you're a part of, wherever the NFL Draft
- 26:13Speaker 1: takes you on Thursday.
