AlterNet reports that Tennessee officials intend to attempt to execute Christa Pike again if she recovers from a coma after two failed lethal-injection attempts. Pike remained hospitalized in critical condition with significant injuries to both arms; the state’s pentobarbital injections reportedly entered her arm tissue rather than her veins.
