- 2:17Speaker 5: you doing, Marjorie, I'm doing great, Thanks for having show.
- 2:20Speaker 5: How are you I'm doing? Foine, Welcome to the new DIGS.
- 2:22Speaker 3: You've not been in the nstio been in here since March,
- 2:25Speaker 3: and we kind of like it.
- 2:27Speaker 5: We kind of like it looks fantastic. All right.
- 2:30Speaker 3: So before we get in and you were here to
- 2:32Speaker 3: talk about something specific with the Dvantage Valley, we're going
- 2:34Speaker 3: to get to that here momentarily talk about your work
- 2:36Speaker 3: with Advantage Valley overall, then we'll get to this specific thing.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Sure well.
- 2:40Speaker 6: Advantage Valley. For those who may not know, we are
- 2:42Speaker 6: a regional economic development nonprofit and my role within the
- 2:47Speaker 6: organization is to be the marketer and communicator, so I
- 2:52Speaker 6: tell the story of what we are doing. But we
- 2:55Speaker 6: are in the business of business attraction to the region,
- 3:00Speaker 6: business retention, working with existing businesses, and also we have
- 3:04Speaker 6: a thriving entrepreneurship program. So some of my marketing is global,
- 3:09Speaker 6: some of my marketing is here local talking about local
- 3:13Speaker 6: food producers, which is what I'm going to talk about today.
- 3:17Speaker 6: And so generally we have a small staff and we
- 3:19Speaker 6: partner with so many organizations, but first and foremost the
- 3:23Speaker 6: local economic development authorities in a nine county region including Boone, Cabal, Clay, Jackson, Canal, Lincoln, Mason, Putnam,
- 3:32Speaker 6: and Wayne.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I like that because sometimes we think about advantage Valley
- 3:35Speaker 3: and I have you know, Cheryl Ellison, have had you
- 3:37Speaker 3: folks on and other people with the organization, and when
- 3:40Speaker 3: you say the valley, everybody just thinks, Wow, it's it's
- 3:43Speaker 3: stuff in Charleston, which it is, and it's stuff in
- 3:45Speaker 3: Putnam County for example, which it is.
- 3:46Speaker 5: But nine counties in this thing.
- 3:48Speaker 6: Right, we stretch. We consider it the two metro regions
- 3:52Speaker 6: including Huntington and Charleston, the two largest you know, cities
- 3:55Speaker 6: in the state and the largest GDP and the largest population.
- 4:00Speaker 3: So what's been keeping you We'll get to this, But
- 4:02Speaker 3: other than the taste of apple accha, which is what
- 4:04Speaker 3: we're going to get to here moment, you other what's
- 4:05Speaker 3: been keeping you busy here lately?
- 4:07Speaker 6: Well, our entrepreneurship program is booming. We have multiple events upcoming.
- 4:13Speaker 6: So I'm promoting a couple business certification workshops, one upcoming
- 4:18Speaker 6: in Maine in Mason County and one in Putnam County.
- 4:22Speaker 6: And we this week, in fact, it's tonight, we have
- 4:25Speaker 6: a Claim Your Listing virtual event and Sasha Strader is
- 4:31Speaker 6: one of our business coaches and she will help folks
- 4:34Speaker 6: use a free marketing tool how to get out there
- 4:36Speaker 6: on Google, Yelp and Google Maps to make sure your
- 4:39Speaker 6: business is seen and heard and you've got accurate information.
- 4:43Speaker 5: So log in tonight, yes, about how do people? How
- 4:47Speaker 5: do people log into this tonight?
- 4:49Speaker 6: Tonight? You can hit our website and which is Advantage
- 4:53Speaker 6: Valley dot com and head to the Faster West Virginia
- 4:56Speaker 6: page and the details are there.
- 4:58Speaker 3: All right, So you're here to talk what about Tastes
- 5:00Speaker 3: of Appalachia? You had me at taste so, uh so
- 5:04Speaker 3: what does this state talk about?
- 5:06Speaker 6: It?
- 5:06Speaker 2: It is?
- 5:07Speaker 6: This is a new initiative. It's the first time we've
- 5:09Speaker 6: ever done this, and it is a program designed to
- 5:12Speaker 6: support growth and market expansion of local food producers this
- 5:17Speaker 6: holiday season. Breaking that down that means we have curated
- 5:22Speaker 6: carefully eight holiday gift boxes that are available for sale.
- 5:29Speaker 6: You can pick them up, you can have them shipped,
- 5:31Speaker 6: and they showcase some of the best of our Advantage
- 5:36Speaker 6: Valley region we do have. They're all West Virginia producers.
- 5:40Speaker 6: We have seventeen food vendors from nine different counties. Some
- 5:44Speaker 6: stretch a little bit outside of Advantage Valley, but we
- 5:48Speaker 6: have put together themed gift boxes for folks to give
- 5:52Speaker 6: this holiday. The key is Dave that the We only
- 5:56Speaker 6: have eight days left.
- 5:57Speaker 5: Okay, okay, our orders are.
- 5:59Speaker 6: Open and hill October seventeenth. But we have an incredible
- 6:04Speaker 6: lineup of featured vendors and we are working with the
- 6:09Speaker 6: partner with the Department of Agriculture. They're helping us pack
- 6:12Speaker 6: some of the boxes. But we are thrilled. You know
- 6:16Speaker 6: how at the holiday season there's always a push to
- 6:19Speaker 6: buy local. This is the option to buy local. But
- 6:23Speaker 6: we will help with your holiday gift giving. In fact,
- 6:27Speaker 6: I ordered mine or I were one of my five
- 6:30Speaker 6: this morning because I didn't feel like I could come
- 6:32Speaker 6: on the show if I hadn't put for sure put
- 6:34Speaker 6: my money where my mouth is. So I'd love to
- 6:37Speaker 6: share if you'd let me these vendors.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Now, look, if I start chewing on this new microphone here,
- 6:42Speaker 3: then that's on you because you know this stuff's not
- 6:45Speaker 3: paid for yet, so a lot of you get all
- 6:47Speaker 3: droolie here because I'm looking at the flyer that you
- 6:49Speaker 3: brought in and everything from breakfast to snacks to cocktails,
- 6:53Speaker 3: sweet and salty.
- 6:54Speaker 5: So yeah, let's go over there.
- 6:55Speaker 6: Yes, yes, well we have of the eight boxes, we
- 6:59Speaker 6: have something called the West Virginia Favorites, and that includes
- 7:03Speaker 6: I'll just give some details here, JQ. Dickinson Salt. We
- 7:07Speaker 6: all love that Coal River Coffee, Dark Hollow Foods, Artisans sauce.
- 7:13Speaker 6: Apparently this has a cult following Tipsy ruse plastered peach,
- 7:17Speaker 6: barbecue sauce, fantastic sugar, Bottom farms with a raw wildflower
- 7:22Speaker 6: honey they're out of Clay County, and Legacy Foods, apple cider,
- 7:27Speaker 6: vinaigrette dressing, fantastic products.
- 7:30Speaker 5: So that that's just one. But that's just the West
- 7:32Speaker 5: Virginia Favorite, just the West.
- 7:33Speaker 6: Virginia Favorite box, and that costs fifty five dollars. Our
- 7:37Speaker 6: boxes range from twenty nine dollars up to fifty five.
- 7:41Speaker 6: And in addition to those vendors, we have let's see,
- 7:45Speaker 6: who did I not mention? Rock Family Farm from Lincoln County,
- 7:49Speaker 6: Heinerman Hill Farm, Ordinary, Evelyn's. You've probably heard of some
- 7:53Speaker 6: of these sassy gals, Blue Smoke Salsa, Jumpin' Johnny's, Dark
- 7:58Speaker 6: Hollow Foods. I mentioned them, Copperhead, Bloody Mary Mix, jar
- 8:01Speaker 6: Head Farms with a Peach cocktail, mocktail syrup, Harvest Trails, Freeze,
- 8:07Speaker 6: dried Oranges, Tasty Blend, and Deskin Candy out of Mason
- 8:12Speaker 6: Candy and Mason County County.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Yeah, that's good stuff.
- 8:15Speaker 3: And I'll tell you you know, this would be good
- 8:18Speaker 3: for so many different people. I'm thinking like a you know,
- 8:22Speaker 3: a business that wants to buy several of these to
- 8:25Speaker 3: give to their their customers, their vendors or whatever, and
- 8:29Speaker 3: to really show off West Virginia here because you talk
- 8:31Speaker 3: about those products. I mean, those products are products that
- 8:34Speaker 3: yeah they're West Virginia, but they got a nationwide in
- 8:38Speaker 3: many cases a worldwide following. I mean West Virginia Snack Attack.
- 8:44Speaker 3: That's that's got the coach. You've got to have, mister
- 8:46Speaker 3: B's in there. The veteran made I love that. Yeah,
- 8:49Speaker 3: you one that's all veteran made.
- 8:51Speaker 6: You got veteran made producers. And we want to highlight
- 8:54Speaker 6: these producers. Our ultimate goal is to promote and support
- 8:58Speaker 6: local businesses, creating more visibility for their products and providing
- 9:03Speaker 6: a platform for market expansion and scaling. Because some of
- 9:07Speaker 6: these folks, you know, we are first order Dave if
- 9:10Speaker 6: you can believe, it was for seven hundred boxes nice
- 9:14Speaker 6: and we are up to nine hundred and sixty eight
- 9:17Speaker 6: as of this morning. But this means the world to them,
- 9:21Speaker 6: sure for the worth order to have an order of
- 9:24Speaker 6: seven hundred of their best product or one of their
- 9:27Speaker 6: unique products. So we help entrepreneurs in our in our
- 9:32Speaker 6: programming right, So we have you know, three business coaches
- 9:36Speaker 6: we you know, bring new people into the program. We
- 9:39Speaker 6: often work with startups, but we've got some food producers
- 9:43Speaker 6: that are doing some amazing things and we are really
- 9:45Speaker 6: trying to help them scale.
- 9:47Speaker 5: Looking at some of the other ones here the Sweet
- 9:48Speaker 5: and Salty that's got the JQ.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Dickinson airloom salve, but it's also got burnt caramel sauce.
- 9:55Speaker 6: Yes, well, we all love JAQU Dickinson and they hosted
- 9:59Speaker 6: a special kickoff event for us in September, and we
- 10:02Speaker 6: wanted a box dedicated to them because they do such
- 10:06Speaker 6: phenomenal work. So they have a model that a lot
- 10:09Speaker 6: of these other smaller producers can look to and grow.
- 10:12Speaker 6: But that is our sweet and Salty box. And I
- 10:16Speaker 6: had some of that burnt caramel sauce last night.
- 10:18Speaker 5: I'm gonna admit, oh really, and you're in The verdict.
- 10:21Speaker 6: Was oh over ice cream, it's the best, absolutely.
- 10:25Speaker 3: And you know an apple acchia. We love breakfast at
- 10:27Speaker 3: any time, breakfast for dinner or whatever. We get this
- 10:29Speaker 3: breakfast essential. It comes with Tade's Valley Biscuit Mix, Legacy Foods, Apple,
- 10:34Speaker 3: butter Rock Family Maple syrup, the Coal River Coffee's Wild
- 10:38Speaker 3: and Wonderful Roast, the Hinerman Hills Family Sour Dough pancake mix,
- 10:42Speaker 3: and also their granola. And as we said, there's just
- 10:46Speaker 3: so many of these different things available. How do you
- 10:48Speaker 3: go about getting the West Virginia companies to take part
- 10:53Speaker 3: in this?
- 10:53Speaker 6: Well, we have done our human's effort to try to
- 10:58Speaker 6: alert corporations that this would be perfect gift to give
- 11:01Speaker 6: to your best clients and have in the break room.
- 11:05Speaker 6: You can reach an order through our website if you're
- 11:10Speaker 6: placing a smaller order, which the website is Taste of
- 11:14Speaker 6: Appalachia dot com. Pretty simple. We hope there's going to
- 11:18Speaker 6: be a crash on the website now with all these
- 11:20Speaker 6: people signing in. We hope and if there, if a
- 11:24Speaker 6: corporation is listening and they like would like to make
- 11:26Speaker 6: an order of ten or more, we encourage you to
- 11:30Speaker 6: contact Rachel Kaufman and she is at three oh four
- 11:35Speaker 6: five four nine eight nine nine to one, or call
- 11:39Speaker 6: the Advantage Valley offices and we will take a bulk.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Order for you.
- 11:43Speaker 3: And I'm looking at you know, at your flyer that
- 11:45Speaker 3: you provided me with here. And there's so many other
- 11:47Speaker 3: companies that have helped out with this, you know that
- 11:49Speaker 3: are part of Marshall University, Westbanco, Western You Manufacturers Association,
- 11:54Speaker 3: Bowls Rise, Charles Neir Alliance, Western Executive Magazine, Putnam County
- 11:59Speaker 3: UH Chamber of Commerce. I'm just mentioning a couple of
- 12:01Speaker 3: those there there, because can't do this stuff if you
- 12:03Speaker 3: don't have these other partners in.
- 12:04Speaker 6: They exactly thank you for mentioning that, Dave. We did
- 12:07Speaker 6: with our kickoff event, we had a full day eleven
- 12:11Speaker 6: to four showcasing of the products, and so these vendors
- 12:15Speaker 6: were out there giving samples. We wanted folks to taste,
- 12:18Speaker 6: you know, before buying. But like you said, some of
- 12:21Speaker 6: these are our already favorites. But we also had a
- 12:24Speaker 6: cocktail event and the whole day we did have a
- 12:28Speaker 6: wonderful array of corporate sponsors helping us out. So thank
- 12:33Speaker 6: you for mentioning those.
- 12:34Speaker 3: And we want to make sure that people know that
- 12:35Speaker 3: if you are going to order these things, they are
- 12:37Speaker 3: due October the seventeenth.
- 12:40Speaker 6: Yes, so it's order now. And these boxes are to
- 12:44Speaker 6: be shipped the week after Thanksgiving, so we're talking early
- 12:48Speaker 6: holiday gifts. And but you have to do it now
- 12:51Speaker 6: so I can. This is a great time to buy
- 12:54Speaker 6: and be done with some of those you know.
- 12:56Speaker 3: You ever thought about doing, like the QVC thing, because
- 12:59Speaker 3: I thank you my be good at it.
- 13:01Speaker 5: Yeah, but wait, there's more.
- 13:03Speaker 6: I'll just say when we have shared this idea with folks,
- 13:07Speaker 6: the concept of uplifting our local producers and all of
- 13:12Speaker 6: us can participate in economic development if we buy this way,
- 13:16Speaker 6: we support our people. And once people get that, they
- 13:20Speaker 6: kind of get the chills and they say, I want
- 13:22Speaker 6: to be a part of that.
- 13:23Speaker 5: At this give us the website, social media, whatever else
- 13:26Speaker 5: you get.
- 13:26Speaker 6: There are eight more days to shop, so I encourage
- 13:28Speaker 6: you to go to Taste of Appalachia dot com. And again,
- 13:33Speaker 6: if you have a larger order, give us a call
- 13:35Speaker 6: and we will put you in touch with one of
- 13:37Speaker 6: two people who can help you literally upload a spreadsheet
- 13:41Speaker 6: of addresses where you need to have those boxes shipped.
- 13:44Speaker 6: Or we also have a pickup option if you want
- 13:47Speaker 6: to give these gifts and pass them out to your
- 13:50Speaker 6: client's hand delivered, which is a nice touch. I will say,
- 13:55Speaker 6: but I just love this program, and I love these vendors,
- 13:59Speaker 6: and I'm just thrilled to be able to support them.
- 14:01Speaker 6: And I'll tell you we had one vendor who all
- 14:04Speaker 6: of a sudden we gave them an order of seven
- 14:06Speaker 6: hundred and fifty of their product and they were beside them.
- 14:09Speaker 5: Sure, yeah, wouldn't you be Yeah?
- 14:12Speaker 6: He also said, now how many how many weeks time?
- 14:15Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, It's like, you know, okay, somebody's got to
- 14:18Speaker 3: pull this thing off. But I'm sure that they'll do
- 14:20Speaker 3: just fine with it. Marjorie, it is a pleasure as
- 14:22Speaker 3: always to have you on the show and the great
- 14:25Speaker 3: work that the Vantage Value folks are doing, and this
- 14:28Speaker 3: is a great program helping out West Virginia companies.
- 14:30Speaker 5: It's great stuff. I appreciate you being.
- 14:32Speaker 6: Well, thank you so much, Dave for having us, and
- 14:33Speaker 6: I forgot to bring you a box.
- 14:35Speaker 5: But I'm going to.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Okay, all right, that's going to that's not required, but
- 14:38Speaker 3: I'm just I'm allowed to do that. Well, yeah, of
- 14:40Speaker 3: course you again, it's not like Payola the nineteen fifties.
- 14:42Speaker 3: You know, I'm not playing records for you in here.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Whatever I can, I can sample it and may maybe
- 14:47Speaker 3: share it, maybe exactly the couple of these boxes, I'm
- 14:49Speaker 3: gona tell you what they ain't getting shared. If I
- 14:51Speaker 3: get what those boxes, You're on your own, all right, Marjorie,
- 14:54Speaker 3: appreciate you being here.

- 17:21Speaker 3: The Charles, the Dirty Birds, the Selango Law, Light the Night,
- 17:23Speaker 3: Returning to go Mark Ballpark November twenty first through January first.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Get your tickets in advance by visiting Dblightthnight dot com.
- 17:31Speaker 3: I want to welcome in now Jared Page, who is
- 17:33Speaker 3: the Vice mayor of the City of Saint Alban's.
- 17:35Speaker 5: Ain't nobody. I'm well about you, Dave. I am doing fine.
- 17:38Speaker 5: Thanks for being here.
- 17:39Speaker 3: We're not gonna talk sports, you and I because if
- 17:41Speaker 3: we talk sports, it'll be a throwdown and I'll end
- 17:43Speaker 3: up kicking down at the studio. So we're not here
- 17:46Speaker 3: to talk sports today. No, sir, No, not a word
- 17:48Speaker 3: about Penn State. I promise, Kitty. I couldn't resist, man,
- 17:52Speaker 3: I couldn't resist. Got a light in the mood a
- 17:54Speaker 3: little bit.
- 17:54Speaker 5: Oh yeah, No, it's it's it is what it is.
- 17:57Speaker 5: That's all we can say. Yeah, all right, So what's
- 18:00Speaker 5: on your mind today? You've got something you want to
- 18:02Speaker 5: tell us?
- 18:03Speaker 10: Yeah, Dave, So, I again appreciate being here, and you
- 18:06Speaker 10: were talking about homecoming. It's not what I want to
- 18:08Speaker 10: talk about. But never forget that. Saint Aums's homecoming game
- 18:11Speaker 10: is tomorrow evening and we've got a homecoming parade this
- 18:14Speaker 10: afternoon at six o'clock, so folks, don't forget about that.
- 18:18Speaker 10: But I'd like to be the tell you and your
- 18:22Speaker 10: listeners first that I will be a candidate for the
- 18:26Speaker 10: Kenall County Commission in the Republican primary in the twenty
- 18:32Speaker 10: twenty sixth election this upcoming May. I come here as
- 18:38Speaker 10: a lifelong Connall County and born and raised here in
- 18:41Speaker 10: Saint Albans, son of a law enforcement officer, Marine Corps veteran,
- 18:46Speaker 10: and love this county as I always have loved my hometown.
- 18:53Speaker 10: And when Commissioner Lance Wheeler, who has decided to run
- 18:57Speaker 10: for the States Senate and District eight, and we wish
- 18:59Speaker 10: him the best luck, I had several people reach out
- 19:03Speaker 10: and say, you know, you've done some positive things in
- 19:05Speaker 10: the city of Saint Albans, would you be interested and
- 19:07Speaker 10: maybe looking at the County Commission and to doing some
- 19:12Speaker 10: research and thoughts and prayers and speaking to friends and
- 19:15Speaker 10: family it is something that I'm going to do. You know,
- 19:19Speaker 10: I want to focus our county. I want to focus
- 19:24Speaker 10: on having positive public safety messaging and working with Sheriff
- 19:29Speaker 10: Joey Crawford and Prosecutor deb Russneck.
- 19:32Speaker 5: You know, we have.
- 19:32Speaker 10: Issues in the county with with drugs on and off
- 19:36Speaker 10: the streets. We're going to continue to look at that,
- 19:38Speaker 10: and both Joey and Dev have done great things with that.
- 19:42Speaker 10: I also want to work with both of them on
- 19:44Speaker 10: school safety. Our children is our most important asset that
- 19:48Speaker 10: we have in our county, and we have to make
- 19:50Speaker 10: sure that they're protected at all costs. Also want to
- 19:53Speaker 10: look at economic development. We want to make sure that
- 19:56Speaker 10: we have jobs, new jobs, great jobs for people to
- 20:01Speaker 10: move here. We want people to come from not only
- 20:04Speaker 10: other parts of West Virginia out of state to Kanall County.
- 20:08Speaker 10: Make sure they have places to do and continue to
- 20:10Speaker 10: promote sports tourism. That's huge for me. Look at what's
- 20:14Speaker 10: happened with the trails and Meadowood Park and what's happened
- 20:19Speaker 10: to Shawnee. You know, the Knall County Commission took what
- 20:22Speaker 10: was a failing golf course. And I say that bias
- 20:24Speaker 10: because obviously I love to play golf, play a lot
- 20:27Speaker 10: of golf of Shawnee, but everywhere on the Struggle Bus
- 20:29Speaker 10: and turn that into a great recreation center. One I
- 20:33Speaker 10: used very frequently to play pickleball, just to go walk
- 20:36Speaker 10: and it's a great thing. I want to continue what
- 20:38Speaker 10: the good work that President Selango Commission Wheeler Commission Attendant
- 20:42Speaker 10: has done on bringing sports tourism to Kanall County and
- 20:47Speaker 10: also just to improve and work on the quality of
- 20:50Speaker 10: life here. As I said earlier, we want people to
- 20:52Speaker 10: move here, we want people to enjoy their time in
- 20:55Speaker 10: Kanall County, and you do that. I want to double
- 20:59Speaker 10: the efforts of what the Kennall County Commission. I'll be
- 21:01Speaker 10: the first say they do a great job and dealing
- 21:05Speaker 10: with dilapidata structures, tearing those play those dilapidata structures down.
- 21:09Speaker 5: That also, you know that that's.
- 21:11Speaker 10: Kind of a issue where you have a crime take
- 21:15Speaker 10: place at those dilapidata structures. If we can take some
- 21:18Speaker 10: more of those down promote economic growth in those areas,
- 21:23Speaker 10: I think that we're going to continue to succeed as
- 21:26Speaker 10: a county. And I would like to bring that experience
- 21:29Speaker 10: that i've I have as a municipal government as well
- 21:33Speaker 10: as working in state government to the County Commission, and
- 21:37Speaker 10: I think we can we can do great things for
- 21:39Speaker 10: the county.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Talking to Jared Page again who announced he is going
- 21:41Speaker 3: to be running for County Commission next year, what do
- 21:45Speaker 3: you bring to the table as far as your background,
- 21:47Speaker 3: give us a little bit of your bio.
- 21:49Speaker 10: Yes, sir, so, I have currently your Saint Alban's vice
- 21:53Speaker 10: mayor as you said earlier, and also councilmen at large
- 21:57Speaker 10: and past life I was also are the Saints municipal judge. Yeah,
- 22:02Speaker 10: I have undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of
- 22:04Speaker 10: Charleston and and multiple things. And so I've been able
- 22:10Speaker 10: to work in the city of Saint Albans in all
- 22:14Speaker 10: of these areas, you know, talking about public safety as
- 22:17Speaker 10: a municipal judge, willing actually working directly with Prosecutor Rusnak
- 22:23Speaker 10: as well as Prosecutor Miller and and and and trying
- 22:27Speaker 10: to clean up our streets of Saint Albans uh as
- 22:30Speaker 10: lot as well as our school resource officer and obviously,
- 22:35Speaker 10: like I said, our sheriff's kind of a Saint Aubin's
- 22:38Speaker 10: staple as well. And so bring that experience UH economic development.
- 22:44Speaker 10: One of my key pieces of legislation that I've been
- 22:47Speaker 10: able to pass on as a councilman is an economic
- 22:51Speaker 10: development driven UH item for our for our Main Street area.
- 22:57Speaker 10: I've had multiple individuals on Main Street come up to
- 23:00Speaker 10: me and say, we've made more money this way because
- 23:03Speaker 10: of this bill that we were able to or this
- 23:05Speaker 10: ordinance that we were able to pass. So I want
- 23:07Speaker 10: to continue to drive that and give our citizens more
- 23:09Speaker 10: opportunities to uh to to to to shop, to enjoy things.
- 23:16Speaker 10: And UH I really am going to UH work on
- 23:20Speaker 10: the dilapidata structure. That's something that as a council person,
- 23:24Speaker 10: I was able to uh to to sponsor and pass
- 23:27Speaker 10: a land reuse ordinance so that way we can create
- 23:31Speaker 10: our own land reuse agency. And I have experienced in
- 23:34Speaker 10: all three of those fields. I've done it on a
- 23:36Speaker 10: municipal level. I've worked with individuals. I have great relationships
- 23:41Speaker 10: with our our state representatives as well as our federal
- 23:45Speaker 10: representatives too, and we've I've been able to work on
- 23:50Speaker 10: dilapidata structure properties in the city to promote growth. And
- 23:53Speaker 10: I want to bring all that experience and relationships from
- 23:56Speaker 10: top to bottom to our County commission.
- 23:59Speaker 3: DOCI Page again, who has announced he will be running
- 24:02Speaker 3: for County Commission here in Kanaw County. The Dave Island
- 24:06Speaker 3: Show on five of d Line Brown Too, a part
- 24:07Speaker 3: by Morgan and Morgan with more than twenty billion dollars recovered.
- 24:10Speaker 3: They believe that when you're injured, you deserve more. Morgan
- 24:12Speaker 3: and Morgan America's largest injury law firm. So what's the
- 24:15Speaker 3: plan for the campaign? I mean, I mean it's a
- 24:17Speaker 3: little early to announcement.
- 24:18Speaker 5: That's okay.
- 24:19Speaker 3: People just do it earlier and earlier, and I guess
- 24:20Speaker 3: that's something you have to do these days. But what's
- 24:23Speaker 3: your attack plan for the campaign?
- 24:25Speaker 10: Well, it may be a little early, but I feel
- 24:27Speaker 10: at this point, like I said, it's a little actually
- 24:29Speaker 10: a little late.
- 24:31Speaker 5: You know.
- 24:32Speaker 10: The plan today is will be filing official paperwork today
- 24:35Speaker 10: at four pm at the County Courthouse, County Clerk's office,
- 24:40Speaker 10: and I will be accompanied by Commissioner Lance Wheeler, Sheriff
- 24:44Speaker 10: Joe Crawford, and Prosecutor Deb Russnack to show their strong
- 24:48Speaker 10: support and endorsement of my candidacy. And we're just going
- 24:52Speaker 10: to hit the ground running. We're going to start a
- 24:54Speaker 10: county wide listing tour, going around meeting individuals from across
- 24:58Speaker 10: the county, listen to what their concerns are. You know,
- 25:03Speaker 10: not all areas in Kanall County have the same the
- 25:06Speaker 10: concerns are same issues, and I really want to be
- 25:10Speaker 10: someone who is accessible from everywhere, from Saint Albans to
- 25:13Speaker 10: Elkview to Campbell's Creek. I throw Campbell's Creek in being
- 25:17Speaker 10: a father's side of the families from Campbell's Creek. Spent
- 25:20Speaker 10: a lot of time there, so I'm a kind of
- 25:22Speaker 10: a half Creaker, but all across the county, be visible,
- 25:26Speaker 10: be able to talk to people and learn what really
- 25:29Speaker 10: the issues are. I've spent a lot of time across
- 25:31Speaker 10: the county over the years, and I think I've got
- 25:35Speaker 10: a decent understanding. But it's important to me to listen
- 25:39Speaker 10: to others and to act on their needs and wants.
- 25:43Speaker 3: And you know, the thing about Kanawa County is Canada
- 25:45Speaker 3: County's the largest county in the state and it's a
- 25:47Speaker 3: very diverse county.
- 25:48Speaker 5: And all of the county commissioners, I think, as you
- 25:50Speaker 5: said they do it. They do a great job. The
- 25:52Speaker 5: citting county commissioners and these ones in the past.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Have you know, there's a lot of commonality I guess
- 25:58Speaker 3: on certain issues, but you know, some of the issues
- 26:01Speaker 3: that maybe Downtown Charleston faces may not be the same
- 26:04Speaker 3: as Campbell's Creek faces. So there's there's some similarities. But
- 26:07Speaker 3: you got to do a good job of being out
- 26:09Speaker 3: there and figuring out well, Okay, well we tried. We
- 26:12Speaker 3: got this issue in a tornado, but it's not necessarily
- 26:16Speaker 3: the same as an issue we've got in South Charleston.
- 26:18Speaker 3: So you've got to kind of put all these things together.
- 26:20Speaker 10: Yes, you do, and I think that's why I'm a
- 26:25Speaker 10: kind of a unique candidate in this in this race,
- 26:28Speaker 10: and will as the campaign goes on, We'll be dropping
- 26:31Speaker 10: endorsements and supports later from across the county. But I've
- 26:34Speaker 10: gathered support early on from individuals from literally every area
- 26:40Speaker 10: of Kenall County, and it's it's been beneficial to learn
- 26:44Speaker 10: about those concerns, because, like you say, an issue in
- 26:46Speaker 10: Nitro may not be the same as one in Marmette
- 26:51Speaker 10: or Bell or Sissonville. But you know, there are some
- 26:56Speaker 10: things that are consistent. And one of the things I
- 26:58Speaker 10: want to look at is, you know, Raleigh County just passed.
- 27:03Speaker 10: The Rowley County Commission just passed as a county wide
- 27:06Speaker 10: panhandling ordinance. This is something I would like to look
- 27:09Speaker 10: at the can offer as as a potential commissioner to
- 27:14Speaker 10: for Kennall County. You know, you look at Cross Lanes
- 27:17Speaker 10: for example, that's a very busy area.
- 27:20Speaker 5: Of Cross Vegas.
- 27:21Speaker 10: Yes, Cross Vegas, Cross Vegas, and it's a very busy
- 27:25Speaker 10: area of our county. And it's been a pleasure of
- 27:27Speaker 10: mine to work with Delegate Shamblain and discuss with him
- 27:30Speaker 10: the issues going on with with the road construction and
- 27:33Speaker 10: all that and Cross Lane. But look, you know, cross
- 27:36Speaker 10: Lane's unincorporated area. You have people uh there that are
- 27:41Speaker 10: you know, constantly on the streets and it's a safety hazard.
- 27:45Speaker 10: It's a safety hazard not only for them, but as
- 27:47Speaker 10: a safety hazard for those in traffic. And when you're
- 27:50Speaker 10: already having a nuisance traffic issue that causing delays consistently,
- 27:56Speaker 10: you don't need to have more. And so this is
- 28:00Speaker 10: that's just one of the few things that you know,
- 28:01Speaker 10: sure that's one specific area, but that could be beneficial
- 28:04Speaker 10: across the county. Obviously, city ordinances, you know that they
- 28:08Speaker 10: have their own if it within city unincorporated area, but
- 28:12Speaker 10: for those that are an unincorporated area, I think this
- 28:15Speaker 10: is something important to look at for the safety of all.
- 28:18Speaker 3: So what's as I said that you were going to
- 28:22Speaker 3: you know, hit the campaign trail running, You're going to
- 28:24Speaker 3: go door to door, You're going to do meet the
- 28:26Speaker 3: candidate's things, a little bit of everything.
- 28:28Speaker 10: I will be doing a little bit of everything.
- 28:30Speaker 11: You know.
- 28:31Speaker 10: I've already I went to Nitro this past Friday to
- 28:35Speaker 10: their homecoming football game. I met a lot of people,
- 28:39Speaker 10: I saw a lot of old friends, and you know,
- 28:43Speaker 10: I'm want to be hitting the trail that this Friday,
- 28:45Speaker 10: be at our our Saint Amans homecoming football game against
- 28:49Speaker 10: South Charleston. Hopefully Sat AM's get that first big win
- 28:54Speaker 10: this this uh Friday. I think there's a there's hopefully
- 28:58Speaker 10: a chance, you know. But you know, I'll be hitting
- 29:01Speaker 10: door to door, be going next week. I'll be at
- 29:04Speaker 10: Cistonville a few nights, but I'm going to be across
- 29:07Speaker 10: the county. I'm want to be very visible when campaigning
- 29:10Speaker 10: before for city council, I was at every event, not
- 29:15Speaker 10: just all here. I am waving and all that, but
- 29:17Speaker 10: I like to talk to people and you know me.
- 29:19Speaker 5: Others know me.
- 29:20Speaker 10: I try to be approachable. I want and I welcome disagreement.
- 29:24Speaker 10: I'm welcome someone talking to me that that may not
- 29:28Speaker 10: necessarily be a supporter of mine or may be unsure.
- 29:31Speaker 5: I'll welcome that because.
- 29:32Speaker 10: It makes us better, and it makes us us better
- 29:35Speaker 10: not only as candidates, but as human beings. And I
- 29:40Speaker 10: want to be everywhere. I'm going to be hitting the doors,
- 29:42Speaker 10: hitting the praide, hitting all that. I'll definitely be going
- 29:45Speaker 10: to every city council meeting. I will be meeting with
- 29:48Speaker 10: all municipal mayors, you know someone. I'm a a board
- 29:52Speaker 10: member of the West Virginia Municipal League. I think it's
- 29:54Speaker 10: important as a potential county commissioner for county commissions to
- 29:59Speaker 10: meet with our municipal lead leaders as well as our
- 30:01Speaker 10: state representatives. As I said earlier, I've worked at the
- 30:05Speaker 10: state level for for many years now, and I have
- 30:07Speaker 10: tremendous relationships with our constitutional officers and our members of
- 30:13Speaker 10: our West Virginia Senate and West Virginia House of Delegates.
- 30:16Speaker 10: And I'll be meeting with them, see what their concerns are, uh,
- 30:21Speaker 10: and just build relationships. That's what I think is most
- 30:24Speaker 10: important when it comes to public services, building relationship, building trust,
- 30:29Speaker 10: and that way you can work together and do what's
- 30:32Speaker 10: best for Kennwall County.
- 30:34Speaker 5: Well, Jared, we wish you the best of luck.
- 30:36Speaker 3: We'll have you on again, but I did have Can
- 30:40Speaker 3: you take one text about Saint Albans because it was
- 30:43Speaker 3: just a question, why does Saint Albins have their homecoming
- 30:46Speaker 3: parade the day before the game? Is in the two
- 30:47Speaker 3: hours before the kickoff?
- 30:49Speaker 10: That has been a tradition when I was in homecoming court.
- 30:52Speaker 10: Believe it or not, I was popular back in the
- 30:54Speaker 10: day I was. I was homecoming court all through throughout school.
- 30:57Speaker 10: It's always done before the before what sat And essentially
- 31:03Speaker 10: it's different than other communities because our football field is
- 31:07Speaker 10: not locally, is not downtown or near the school, and
- 31:11Speaker 10: so it's kind of hard to do the parade route
- 31:13Speaker 10: to the football stadium. But there will be a tailgate
- 31:17Speaker 10: before at Crawford Field. I believe it's a five point
- 31:19Speaker 10: thirty but that that's why it's the day before. And
- 31:23Speaker 10: you know, that's a good question, but it's always been
- 31:26Speaker 10: the day before since I was in high school, many
- 31:28Speaker 10: many moons ago. And I would like to say one
- 31:31Speaker 10: last thing. And if that's okay, not about Saint Aubums,
- 31:35Speaker 10: but about somebody who cannot be here, that meant a
- 31:39Speaker 10: lot to me and Mentelta canall county and I would
- 31:41Speaker 10: be remiss if I didn't say something about it.
- 31:44Speaker 5: And that's just as Tim Armstead.
- 31:48Speaker 10: Justice Armstead was a friend of mine, first person I
- 31:51Speaker 10: ever campaigned for. When he was Speaker of the House.
- 31:54Speaker 10: I was a little freshman at the University of Charleston,
- 31:57Speaker 10: and of course Tim was a proud alumnus of University
- 32:00Speaker 10: of Charleston, and I met him there and I thought, boy,
- 32:03Speaker 10: you know, this is a.
- 32:04Speaker 5: Speaker of the House.
- 32:04Speaker 10: I've got to be, you know, top notch, and really
- 32:10Speaker 10: I'm always professional, but he's the speaker, you know, and
- 32:13Speaker 10: I'm a freshman in college.
- 32:14Speaker 5: I don't know anything.
- 32:15Speaker 10: He was the most humble human being. This is the
- 32:18Speaker 10: nicest person. And I say that in the world of
- 32:21Speaker 10: politics and on all levels, you have people who do
- 32:25Speaker 10: it for the right reasons. You have people who do
- 32:26Speaker 10: it for the wrong reasons, and that's just the nature
- 32:28Speaker 10: of the beast. Tim was one of the good guys,
- 32:32Speaker 10: and he always told me that no matter what, if
- 32:36Speaker 10: you do the right thing, it's going to work out,
- 32:38Speaker 10: and if elected the Knall County Commission, I'm going to
- 32:41Speaker 10: continue that mentality and that work ethic that Tim always
- 32:46Speaker 10: shared with me and kept as Speaker and as Justice
- 32:50Speaker 10: as the Supreme Court. And it's going to be said.
- 32:52Speaker 10: I always told Tim when I was first born in
- 32:55Speaker 10: this municipal judge he was who swore me in.
- 32:58Speaker 5: Came to Saint Om's do it during.
- 33:00Speaker 10: COVID and I said, you know, Justice, I hope we
- 33:04Speaker 10: get to do this again someday and he said, he said,
- 33:08Speaker 10: you know, well, you've got a great future ahead and
- 33:10Speaker 10: I look forward to doing this. And when I was
- 33:13Speaker 10: sworn in as council and Vice Mayor, he was receiving treatment.
- 33:16Speaker 10: And it's just sad that we've got this opportunity and
- 33:19Speaker 10: he's not here for it. But I just want to
- 33:21Speaker 10: say for the listeners and those in Kannall County or
- 33:25Speaker 10: New Justice Armstead that well he may not be here,
- 33:29Speaker 10: his legacy will never be forgotten with my with me
- 33:32Speaker 10: or with Kannall County Commission if elected, and I planned
- 33:35Speaker 10: to keep the principles that he practiced and keep his
- 33:40Speaker 10: honor alive as a Kennall County Commissioner.
- 33:43Speaker 3: All right, she had, wishing the best of luck. Thanks
- 33:45Speaker 3: a lot, Thank you very much. I got to say
- 33:46Speaker 3: a fly Eagles flying.
- 33:47Speaker 5: Oh, here we go. He had to do it.
- 33:50Speaker 3: He's a big Eagles fan and they play Thursday night football,
- 33:53Speaker 3: Thursday night football.

- 37:00Speaker 3: it's not just about the football game. There's a lot
- 37:02Speaker 3: of other activities that go along with Melanie Pelario and
- 37:05Speaker 3: Walker Tator we're here to talk about it's welcome to
- 37:07Speaker 3: the show, guys, Hello, thanks for having us. I got
- 37:10Speaker 3: to ask you, how did your event go last week?
- 37:11Speaker 3: Because this was a Melanie, this was a Canau Valley
- 37:13Speaker 3: chapter of the Marshall Alumni.
- 37:15Speaker 5: You had a big kick off at the Roughner last week.
- 37:17Speaker 5: Had to go.
- 37:17Speaker 17: It was a fabulous turnout, So thank you.
- 37:19Speaker 5: How many people proximately say over fifty over fifty? Cool success,
- 37:24Speaker 5: big success.
- 37:24Speaker 3: All right, So it's homecoming next week from Marshall University
- 37:28Speaker 3: Thundering Herd. Of course they have a home game this week,
- 37:30Speaker 3: but homecoming is next week, and we think about homecoming,
- 37:33Speaker 3: we think about the game, which is obviously what it's
- 37:35Speaker 3: all centered around.
- 37:36Speaker 5: But it's an entire week's worth of.
- 37:37Speaker 17: Activities, absolutely, and Walker's going to fill us in. We
- 37:40Speaker 17: have some things starting from Monday, something planned every day,
- 37:43Speaker 17: and so I want to get the word out and
- 37:46Speaker 17: hopefully folks from all over the area will come down
- 37:49Speaker 17: and hang with us.
- 37:51Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 37:51Speaker 18: Absolutely, So, I mean, you know, homecoming is a special
- 37:54Speaker 18: time on campus that's an opportunity for alums and family
- 37:57Speaker 18: and friends to come back and enjoy all of the
- 38:00Speaker 18: festivities we have. As Melanie mentioned, you know, we start
- 38:02Speaker 18: on Monday, and in the evening of Monday, we have
- 38:05Speaker 18: the Unity Walk, which is something that's planned for the
- 38:08Speaker 18: university where we all kind of come together as a
- 38:10Speaker 18: community and we walk the perimeter of campus and our
- 38:14Speaker 18: Athletic Director, Jerald Harris will actually be giving a keynote address,
- 38:18Speaker 18: so that'll be a fun opportunity.
- 38:20Speaker 2: You know.
- 38:21Speaker 18: One of the privileges of our jobs is we get
- 38:23Speaker 18: to coordinate the homecoming Grand Marshall and this year we
- 38:27Speaker 18: have an out of this world Grand Marshal. His name
- 38:29Speaker 18: is Jim Thornton. He's the voice of Wheel of Fortune
- 38:32Speaker 18: and he's coming back to serve as our Grand Marshal
- 38:34Speaker 18: and he'll be there the entire week for all of
- 38:36Speaker 18: these events.
- 38:37Speaker 2: So even on Wednesday.
- 38:38Speaker 18: Jim loves Jim Spaghetti, so we're going to be having
- 38:41Speaker 18: a meet Jim at Jim's and that's for the community
- 38:44Speaker 18: to come out and be able to get an autograph
- 38:46Speaker 18: and take it care.
- 38:47Speaker 3: Of a lot of people aren't aware of that. Jim Thornton,
- 38:50Speaker 3: the Voice of Wheel of Fortune, is a Marshall guy.
- 38:52Speaker 18: He is He is so he's a Marshall LAMMI he
- 38:54Speaker 18: grew up here in Huntington, and you know, he's been
- 38:56Speaker 18: on the West Coast and he's had a very successful career,
- 38:59Speaker 18: but Marshall's always been his school. And I actually went
- 39:01Speaker 18: to LA a couple of weeks ago and we got
- 39:03Speaker 18: to go on the set of a Whale of Fortune
- 39:05Speaker 18: and get to see him in his element and just
- 39:08Speaker 18: the way that he he leads and he you know,
- 39:10Speaker 18: lets people know he's from this area and represents this community.
- 39:14Speaker 18: It's just out of this world.
- 39:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean so, so just take us through the
- 39:19Speaker 5: rest of the week.
- 39:19Speaker 18: Yes, So there's also of course student events going on
- 39:23Speaker 18: throughout that week, you know, mentioning the unity to walk
- 39:26Speaker 18: on Monday. The latter part of the week is always
- 39:28Speaker 18: the busiest of course, So with our office and alumni,
- 39:32Speaker 18: we actually get to do office decorating with offices on
- 39:34Speaker 18: campus and you know, our theme this year is will
- 39:37Speaker 18: of Thunder to kind of you know, pay a nod
- 39:39Speaker 18: to Jim in his career. So we'll be doing office
- 39:42Speaker 18: decorating all day and the judging of that on Thursday,
- 39:46Speaker 18: and then that leads us into one of the largest
- 39:48Speaker 18: athletic events during homecoming, which is hoops and Huntington, So
- 39:51Speaker 18: they set up the basketball court downtown and it's an
- 39:54Speaker 18: opportunity for the community to meet the coaches and meet
- 39:56Speaker 18: some of the players and have a fun time downtown.
- 39:59Speaker 17: And that's a very exciting environment. If are around, need
- 40:03Speaker 17: to come in and watch your you're sitting right there
- 40:07Speaker 17: on Third Avenue and they have the court there and you're.
- 40:09Speaker 5: Right in front side.
- 40:10Speaker 17: It's a great, great event, absolutely.
- 40:13Speaker 18: And then Friday we have the the homecoming parade, which
- 40:17Speaker 18: starts downtown on Fourth Avenue, you know, comes through Huntington
- 40:21Speaker 18: and then ends up in Harlest Dining Hall's filled right
- 40:26Speaker 18: there between Harlest Dining Hall, which is where we have
- 40:28Speaker 18: our homecoming bonfire, and that's usually always a fun time.
- 40:31Speaker 18: We have a lot of vendors and a lot of
- 40:33Speaker 18: people in the parade, but for the bonfire specifically, that's
- 40:36Speaker 18: where we get to kind of have some fun with
- 40:38Speaker 18: the students and they have parade float winners, we have
- 40:41Speaker 18: office decorating winners announced, and just some really good food
- 40:45Speaker 18: and some you know, tunes from the band, and we
- 40:48Speaker 18: have some chance from the cheer team and it's a
- 40:51Speaker 18: lot of fun for everyone to be able to get
- 40:53Speaker 18: together at the bonfire and spend some time together.
- 40:56Speaker 3: But they've dold Chewing five Vidieline brought to you in
- 40:58Speaker 3: part by Hustan's Pizza. This month, get a lot JT

- 41:07Speaker 5: There's really nothing like homecoming in Huntington.
- 41:11Speaker 3: I mean, and now now that it looks like fall
- 41:13Speaker 3: is here, you know, if it starts to feel like
- 41:15Speaker 3: fall a little bit, there's just something about it.
- 41:17Speaker 5: I have said this before as a son of Marshall.
- 41:22Speaker 3: There is nothing like fall on campus at Marshall University,
- 41:26Speaker 3: when the leaves start to fall and everything and you
- 41:28Speaker 3: see old Maine in the background and just everything. There's
- 41:30Speaker 3: just nothing like it.
- 41:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 41:32Speaker 18: Absolutely, And you know on Saturday before the big game,
- 41:35Speaker 18: we have the Alumni Telgate, which is something that our
- 41:37Speaker 18: office hosts, and all of these events. I know, sometimes
- 41:40Speaker 18: it's like drinking out of the end of a fire
- 41:42Speaker 18: host but we've got it online. You can just look
- 41:45Speaker 18: up Marshall Homecoming and find all of the events listed.
- 41:47Speaker 18: And we also are going to be putting out some
- 41:49Speaker 18: stuff on our foundation and Alumni Association social media's so
- 41:52Speaker 18: that's at FORMARSHALLU dot org is the website pt at
- 41:56Speaker 18: for Marshall US our tags for social media, so you
- 41:58Speaker 18: can find it there too.
- 42:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it's going to be a great to a great
- 42:02Speaker 3: week's worth of activities. And I always like to because
- 42:04Speaker 3: you know, Marshall is a institution that's so steeped in
- 42:07Speaker 3: tradition and build around you know, everything revolves around the
- 42:11Speaker 3: around the seventy five, uh, And that's.
- 42:13Speaker 5: Always a big part of it too. And it's a
- 42:17Speaker 5: special place.
- 42:18Speaker 17: Is it's an exciting time to be in Huntington on campus. Yeah,
- 42:22Speaker 17: if you're you need something to do, we've got a
- 42:25Speaker 17: lot of activity and it's free and so come and
- 42:28Speaker 17: join us and and participate and connect and reconnect with
- 42:32Speaker 17: the alumni and current students and and.
- 42:35Speaker 5: You might get to meet the voice of the Wheel
- 42:37Speaker 5: of Fortune. That's right, exactly right.
- 42:39Speaker 18: And if you come to the game on Saturday, we
- 42:41Speaker 18: have a special surprise that will be up on the

- 49:29Speaker 3: by on the show tomorrow as well. Tex says, Dave
- 49:33Speaker 3: everyone in the state needs to read Hobbies commentary. He
- 49:35Speaker 3: hit the nail on the head so true about where
- 49:39Speaker 3: we are headed as a country since a texture, Tex says,
- 49:47Speaker 3: can you believe how hard this administration is going after Antiva?
- 49:51Speaker 3: They say they're closing in on the leaders of a
- 49:52Speaker 3: group that has no leadership also why goes so hard
- 49:55Speaker 3: after an anti fascist group? Only fascists would go after
- 49:58Speaker 3: an anti fascist group.
- 50:00Speaker 5: It says a texture.
- 50:01Speaker 3: Looks like work is finally getting underway in the Fort
- 50:04Speaker 3: Hill Bridge. The deck repair will get underway next Monday
- 50:08Speaker 3: evening and it's going to be done primarily between six
- 50:12Speaker 3: pm and six am, and they're going to work around
- 50:15Speaker 3: the clock on the weekends. So plan accordingly starting Friday
- 50:19Speaker 3: evening if you're coming in and out of the city
- 50:21Speaker 3: of Charleston and you're taking the bridge. But I mean, look,
- 50:26Speaker 3: it's got to be done. I mean we've we've put
- 50:29Speaker 3: band aids on, and band aids on, and band aids on.
- 50:31Speaker 3: An I am no bridge expert or structural engineer, but
- 50:34Speaker 3: I know what I drive over every day coming into
- 50:37Speaker 3: the city and coming out, and it's got to be done.
- 50:39Speaker 3: So the work is going to start Monday evening, so
- 50:41Speaker 3: your commutes will be greatly impacted six pm to six am.
- 50:46Speaker 3: But then on the weekends, because I know a lot
- 50:48Speaker 3: of people coming to Charleston for the different activities going
- 50:50Speaker 3: on on the weekends, there are a lot of folks
- 50:55Speaker 3: that traveled at just be just know that on the
- 50:58Speaker 3: weekends it's pretty much going to be a twenty four
- 51:00Speaker 3: hour thing, and then that's that's the best way to
- 51:03Speaker 3: do it, to be honest with you. And again, hats
- 51:05Speaker 3: off to hopefully, hopefully getting this thing taken care of
- 51:08Speaker 3: Big Piguli Wiggly hotline three zero four three four five
- 51:12Speaker 3: fifty eight fifty eight Tony the Taylor text three zero
- 51:14Speaker 3: four nine three five five zero zero way jex So,
- 51:17Speaker 3: speaking of wheel of Fortune, I can't believe the news
- 51:20Speaker 3: cut into the show last night to bring the news
- 51:22Speaker 3: of a possible deal between Israel and Hamas. Sure, they'll
- 51:26Speaker 3: maybe have peace for a few years, but what thousands
- 51:28Speaker 3: of years of hate between Muslims.
- 51:29Speaker 5: And Jews will refurface? Resurface rather in some form or another.
- 51:35Speaker 3: Tex says, while how despicable by a previous text or
- 51:40Speaker 3: not giving the credit to the president on the peace deal.
- 51:43Speaker 3: This has been praised by people on both sides. Democrat
- 51:47Speaker 3: love those two words. Get that Nobel Peace Prize paperwork.
- 51:51Speaker 3: In Andrea Mitchell Andreya Mitchell of NBC News, who said
- 51:55Speaker 3: last week on I Think I Think it was a
- 51:58Speaker 3: Meet the Press in one of the news show, she
- 52:01Speaker 3: said that if President Trump gets this deal done, he
- 52:04Speaker 3: will be in line for a Nobel Peace Prize. And again,
- 52:08Speaker 3: and I'll go back to what the previous texture said,
- 52:10Speaker 3: There's been thousands of years of conflict and so on
- 52:13Speaker 3: and so forth. But yeah, if if this deal gets
- 52:16Speaker 3: done and it turns out the way that people hope
- 52:20Speaker 3: for it too, he'll be in line.
- 52:21Speaker 5: For a Nobel Peace Prize, make no mistake about it.
- 52:25Speaker 5: I did want to close with this real quickly, and
- 52:26Speaker 5: we're going to get into this a little bit later
- 52:28Speaker 5: on a metric Who's Midday today, But again I mentioned
- 52:31Speaker 5: it earlier. The behavior of some parents, grandparents, and adults
- 52:37Speaker 5: at kids sporting events. I mean, we've all seen the stories,
- 52:41Speaker 5: We've seen the videos online. While the kids are just
- 52:44Speaker 5: trying to play a game, you know, do better well,
- 52:47Speaker 5: they're doing something at Shawnee, they've got a pretty pretty
- 52:50Speaker 5: strict list of things about what you're allowed to do
- 52:53Speaker 5: and about your taunting and things of that nature of
- 52:57Speaker 5: kids we're talking about.
- 52:58Speaker 3: So we'll get into that coming up on the show
- 53:00Speaker 3: again on the show tomorrow. And Gilla Wanner from the
- 53:02Speaker 3: Cannella Charleston U main association with this week's Adopt Me
- 53:04Speaker 3: Please Pet of the Week, Greg Thomas from Citizens Against
- 53:06Speaker 3: Lawsuit Abuse and Chris Lawrence will be here to talk
