Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: I mean I was real impressed I texted him out of the game.
- 0:02Speaker 1: That was one of his best coaching jobs.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I mean they have their third quarter back in In a team, find the way a defense played their best game against the top 20 offense and they win and they don't get rewarded.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I think it's a bad look for football.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I was real disappointed.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Personally, I'm kind of one of those old school high school guys work my way up, and not that I'm a Florida State fan, but he means I'm a Mike fan.
- 0:25Speaker 1: But I just don't think it's a totally is good for football.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Hey, welcome back football Monday.
- 0:39Speaker 2: North Florida Sports Network, december 11th 2023.
- 0:45Speaker 2: That was Gus Malzahn being asked about Florida State being left out of the playoff and and you know it's not good man, it's not good, but we move on.
- 1:02Speaker 2: We're still trying to make sense of it.
- 1:04Speaker 2: We got some NFL action to talk about, some recruiting nuggets to go over.
- 1:07Speaker 2: It's that time of year for transfer portal speculation, rumors, money Bags, kids trying to get more money.
- 1:22Speaker 3: You said bags.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24Speaker 3: First of all, big time no here I am moving on.
- 1:26Speaker 3: I ain't moving on from shit.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Yeah Well, yeah, that's right, I wanted to bring you on.
- 1:32Speaker 3: I'm still on the snubbing.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Well, we wanted to bring until I get some resolve.
- 1:36Speaker 2: We got big time no with us today.
- 1:38Speaker 2: We're going to check on him, make sure that he's doing okay off after it's been eight days.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Sounds like he might not be doing okay.
- 1:47Speaker 2: No, it sounds like he might not.
- 1:49Speaker 2: He might not be.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Let's get right into it, man.
- 1:53Speaker 2: It's not getting any like easier to deal with, is it?
- 1:58Speaker 2: It's?
- 1:59Speaker 3: actually getting harder for you.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Like it's actually getting harder, Like I don't, I don't understand it.
- 2:04Speaker 3: All the time He'll tell me that he was shit.
- 2:06Speaker 3: I mean justice.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Justice will heal my pain.
- 2:10Speaker 2: It feels really bad if you're, you know, fan.
- 2:13Speaker 2: It's not right.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I agree totally with what Gus was almost saying.
- 2:17Speaker 3: I think most coaches do, I don't know every coach, yeah, the head coaching, not just head coaches, all coaches, the five poles, that half mass.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Until we get this thing straight and out, you know, you know what I would like to see.
- 2:34Speaker 3: You know, ron is set up this.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Our governor has offered a million dollars, you know, to a lawsuit.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I just want to get a lawsuit and I want to go in there.
- 2:42Speaker 3: I'm sure they've already deleted thousands of emails that have come from the big rigs and the corporations, but I just want to undercut.
- 2:48Speaker 3: I want to see this paper trail of them being forced into their decision.
- 2:51Speaker 3: I know it's there somewhere.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Well, I mean, let's get some.
- 2:56Speaker 2: We saw it on there.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Let's get it on TV show and they.
- 2:59Speaker 2: They told you that right there.
- 3:01Speaker 4: I go back to my team at the.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I haven't seen that TV show one time this year.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Well, I see the emails from the big rigs in the corporations to those guys on the community.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Well, I would know emails.
- 3:12Speaker 2: You're not going to see that.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Let's go over to each other's house for dinner.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Yeah, there's dinner.
- 3:16Speaker 2: That's right.
- 3:17Speaker 2: We told you it was like they told you what it was.
- 3:21Speaker 4: All cases are law.
- 3:21Speaker 4: We'll go sit on a golf course.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll talk about it because we know nice resort.
- 3:27Speaker 2: We know because they tell us they invite they.
- 3:30Speaker 2: They're the ones who invited us and hired us to do this job and all they do is have these programs on and pretty much tell you what you should do.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I mean, and then you have a guy like Paul Feinbaum saying that you know that's proud.
- 3:47Speaker 2: You know they probably are people in power, probably upset with the Florida state, said they needed to leave the ACC.
- 3:54Speaker 2: You know what's that about.
- 3:56Speaker 2: That should have nothing to do with it.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Why are you even bringing that up?
- 3:58Speaker 2: You know that's what they do, it's all.
- 4:02Speaker 2: It's all the bachelor, it's all about that.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I mean this makes me.
- 4:08Speaker 3: This makes me not want to leave the ACC Cause.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Then we're just playing right.
- 4:11Speaker 3: We'll play right to their hand.
- 4:12Speaker 3: We're doing exactly what they want.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Well, yeah, you're going to go to someone else's hand.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Why don't we stay in the ACC 12?
- 4:19Speaker 3: You're in their hand.
- 4:20Speaker 3: You're in.
- 4:20Speaker 3: You're just about leaving us out next year.
- 4:22Speaker 3: You're well if you win the ACC, you'll get an automatic bid but that's not.
- 4:26Speaker 2: You don't think we're winning the ACC next year.
- 4:28Speaker 3: I'm just saying it's still going to.
- 4:29Speaker 2: the new argument will be that's where the only way you'll get in every year and you go here to the SEC, you get nine and three and get in playoff man.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Like that.
- 4:42Speaker 4: That's what they're.
- 4:43Speaker 2: So Florida state needs to get in one of those conferences.
- 4:47Speaker 2: They need to get because they need.
- 4:50Speaker 2: They just showed you why you didn't have more opportunities.
- 4:55Speaker 3: We're in next year, yeah, but that's that's the only way.
- 4:58Speaker 2: That's the only way All we want.
- 4:59Speaker 2: You want to have the most opportunities, so you just want to just play right in your hand.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Well, you want to have more money to play the players.
- 5:06Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I want justice.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Well, you're not like, you're not going to get it.
- 5:11Speaker 3: There's not ever going to be any we're not going to get it, man.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Any any admission of.
- 5:14Speaker 2: No one's going to admit it because they put it in the rules, man, they put it in the bios that they could use whatever they want.
- 5:20Speaker 2: They put hey, if there's injuries, if there's anything, they said best.
- 5:25Speaker 3: So like your email trail is not going to prove anything.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Yes, I will.
- 5:28Speaker 3: It was that we just had a little bit of a problem.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Well, it was that we were something, what we already know.
- 5:36Speaker 3: But nope, they haven't said that and they're one person say that they said that they left Jordan Travis.
- 5:44Speaker 2: It was a Jordan travesty.
- 5:46Speaker 3: No, I coined that phrase.
- 5:50Speaker 4: You stay in the.
- 5:51Speaker 4: You stay in the ACC, you stay in the ESPN's right second rate network.
- 5:56Speaker 2: They'd still control you.
- 5:57Speaker 3: I think the FSU wants to get out college football needs to get out of control of that well, it's the TV show, and Until they get some sort of bargaining John Rom 600 million.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Maybe get a live college football Going on over here.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yeah, let it out, man.
- 6:18Speaker 2: So what do you think about the orange bowl?
- 6:20Speaker 2: Big-time nose I.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Think it's a great accomplishment.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I want to win it more than anything.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Well, it's a sham.
- 6:26Speaker 4: I mean, it's not a sham, but the I'm sure there's a lot of players on Florida stays team, yeah, but that want to win the game that didn't have play a lot this year.
- 6:34Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe, maybe there may be some starters, that, that that still really want to win the game?
- 6:39Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sure everybody wants to win the game.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Well, but that would be, Giving you, give you talk about, giving right back in to what they're offering you is to get denied and then go play in their orange ball game.
- 6:52Speaker 2: So that's what I was saying Don't play in the game.
- 6:55Speaker 2: It's also another chance to play football.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Yeah, if it no, if they wanted to, I would support them.
- 7:02Speaker 3: It's 100% up to the players.
- 7:04Speaker 2: I know that.
- 7:04Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 7:06Speaker 3: I don't want to play.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Money's involved.
- 7:08Speaker 3: It's more than just not playing a football game.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Pay them anyway, then use that fun, whatever they were gonna get.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Get all the packages, get all your shit, get on the field and then walk off once they blow the whistle right, any, it's fine, I don't care how I do it and protest.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Cool.
- 7:27Speaker 2: It doesn't matter, regardless if they play it or not.
- 7:30Speaker 2: They already ruined it.
- 7:32Speaker 3: I want 14 anybody take Rodamaker to look like a stud.
- 7:35Speaker 2: I know.
- 7:36Speaker 2: But to even anybody that's gonna be like oh, look see, it doesn't know what they're talking about.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Oh, they're just gonna.
- 7:42Speaker 3: They're just gonna be like oh, with Georgia, didn't play.
- 7:44Speaker 3: And because it's George's- gonna.
- 7:46Speaker 2: If it was the four best teams, georgia would still be favored over anybody in the country.
- 7:51Speaker 2: That's what they don't want to tell you.
- 7:52Speaker 3: So I listen to a Vegas odd.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Oh yeah, still doesn't currently.
- 7:56Speaker 3: And he said that Georgia would have been a 10 point or eight.
- 8:00Speaker 3: No, he said eight to 10 point Favorite over Washington.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Ohio State would have been a touchdown favorite over Washington.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah, so why play the game?
- 8:09Speaker 2: Why play the game?
- 8:10Speaker 2: You know why?
- 8:12Speaker 3: What's the point?
- 8:13Speaker 3: You want to crowd them crown.
- 8:16Speaker 2: It is a real bad look for the sport, it really is.
- 8:19Speaker 2: And they legally.
- 8:21Speaker 2: They wrote it in there when they did this committee, you know we flew.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Florida States saw this coming 10 years ago when they put two one-loss teams ahead of them With an undefeated record you know there was didn't look good enough they.
- 8:40Speaker 2: So you saw this coming and they hit it.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I didn't see it coming you know, I blindsided, I didn't understand blind I never.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I never thought this would happen to anyone who goes undefeated, unless right, there are more than four.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Right, there is an undefeated right from every power five, and then I could see one.
- 9:02Speaker 3: That's the only way.
- 9:03Speaker 2: What, if so I want to know.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Yeah, so I want to know.
- 9:06Speaker 2: If Georgia would have won, would they have put Texas still in over Florida State?
- 9:12Speaker 4: I Don't think so right.
- 9:15Speaker 2: So what the hell?
- 9:16Speaker 2: Why did they do?
- 9:17Speaker 4: I think they had scenarios.
- 9:19Speaker 2: It's so messed up and what they don't talk about the.
- 9:25Speaker 4: It would have been too easy to just too easy and clean, to just say, all right, all undefeated conference winners are going.
- 9:30Speaker 4: There's four that are like, there's one that's not.
- 9:33Speaker 4: It had everything to do with the SEC in the SEC spot, right.
- 9:39Speaker 3: We need Alabama and Texas to lose that.
- 9:42Speaker 2: That's goes to show you so bad that it was you know like.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Because if they would have put Florida State, I would not like to see if they would have put a one-loss Texas in with three other undefeated teams, because that's what they claim when they put Texas at three at three.
- 10:01Speaker 2: So you're saying if Georgia beats Alabama, georgia should have been over Texas, logically.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Well, it doesn't make any sense.
- 10:10Speaker 2: None of it does.
- 10:11Speaker 2: And they want to bring, and they want to bring the first game or whatever you know, and they're a different team.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Right here, reese Davis saying you know there's a different team that accumulated the record, because Jordan Travis is on there.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Well, alabama was a different team when they lost the game With the same quarterback he had to get better, to get better right here to get benched to do that.
- 10:34Speaker 2: So that's the team Texas beat.
- 10:35Speaker 2: That's not the team.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Texas didn't beat this team that Alabama is now take.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Rodermaker went into the swamp.
- 10:43Speaker 3: So why is Texas 20 points?
- 10:45Speaker 3: Why is?
- 10:45Speaker 2: Texas getting so rewarded for that win.
- 10:49Speaker 2: That happened a week too.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Because they beat the team that beat Georgia right, and they just have to.
- 10:55Speaker 4: If Alabama loses to Georgia, then Texas's win over Alabama isn't right, but it isn't anything anymore.
- 11:04Speaker 2: But the fact it was different.
- 11:06Speaker 2: And then when you have, when you're doing all that, you got to go off the record man, you got to go off the undefeated.
- 11:14Speaker 4: I just saying that's why coaches are trying to read, like anybody that's those were just.
- 11:21Speaker 2: You can't fathom it.
- 11:23Speaker 3: It's not right, it's not right to the sport.
- 11:25Speaker 2: There's nothing that they did.
- 11:26Speaker 2: We're in politics now right, I mean the in it.
- 11:30Speaker 2: You, you could see the NFL like going this, but you'd like well, at least they'll play it on the field, you know.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I really never happen but you see the Bengals like what Joe Burroughs out they're not gonna do anything because Jake Browning's cuz this guy's quarterback, but look what he's doing Smoking people right.
- 11:46Speaker 2: So I guess, I guess that's why did they?
- 11:50Speaker 2: Why did they even?
- 11:51Speaker 3: play.
- 11:51Speaker 3: So I was explaining this to somebody you know.
- 11:54Speaker 3: So you remember that boxing match that just happened recently with Tyson fury and the MMA guy who just came in and everyone said that the MMA guy beat him but he lost in a decision.
- 12:08Speaker 3: But you understand, if the MMA guy in his very first ever Pro boxing match would have beat the heavyweight champ, like how bad that would look.
- 12:17Speaker 3: You know, it's kind of like that's how they felt about not having the SEC.
- 12:22Speaker 3: You know it's like that's their heavyweight.
- 12:24Speaker 2: They should have left Texas out.
- 12:25Speaker 2: That's that, that's.
- 12:27Speaker 2: They could have adjusted what that justification would have been it's better than doing Leaving floor state.
- 12:36Speaker 2: I was one defeated.
- 12:37Speaker 2: At least Texas lost to Oklahoma and you can, and I would say but have people judging College football well, they never.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Rend the game.
- 12:48Speaker 3: The game's over Right you know we don't have a loss.
- 12:53Speaker 2: And I need an account for the.
- 12:55Speaker 4: I think it's pretty clear that that they don't really watch any of the games.
- 12:59Speaker 3: No, they just look at just get you a match from the big leagues and the corporation.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Well, they show you how that story was going in the first half of Louisville.
- 13:06Speaker 2: They're all those people that think that Florida State it's not the same team.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Well, they're not the same offense.
- 13:15Speaker 2: The defense is getting better and Special teams yeah, lights out, insane return or Keon County.
- 13:23Speaker 3: One of the best kickers nominated for that was a Lou Grosje award.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Yeah, one of the best punters in the country.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Yeah well, we're a three-sided monster, so this is something that, and take Rodamaker's gonna toss that thing all over Georgia.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Wait, this is Georgia boy baby base.
- 13:41Speaker 3: More stadium Val Dosta.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it's the what if, what could have been, what should have been, that's what.
- 13:49Speaker 3: I do like the time of that orange ball for 4-4.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Perfect, what, what the nightmare this is it's about to be that season.
- 13:59Speaker 2: I'm sure fans will now Go to.
- 14:02Speaker 2: What are they?
- 14:03Speaker 2: You know they.
- 14:03Speaker 2: A lot of fans want to go.
- 14:04Speaker 2: What is the worst thing that happened, jimmy, and like what you could say, is that you could lose out on Recruits.
- 14:12Speaker 2: There's probably people coming in negative recruiting against your players, using this say hey.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Why you don't want to go there.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Yeah, oh, I mean.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Number one, if it was staying.
- 14:27Speaker 4: If it was staying a 14 playoff, then yeah.
- 14:31Speaker 3: We'd be a lot of trouble, but the fact that it's 12 next year and and nobody's seen what a 12 team playoffs gonna look like.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Now, after a year or two of the SEC in the Big 10 getting 10 teams in respectively, like between yeah, I think they've.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Like then, yeah, you, if we're still in the ACC, that'll, that'll be a thing, but I I don't think that's as much.
- 14:54Speaker 4: You know, the snub is not really impacting High school recruits kids thinking about transferring as much as it is just the current roster right.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Norval has built such a culture here that dudes are gonna want to complain.
- 15:08Speaker 4: man, it's yeah, it's simple right, yeah, yeah, I, you know, I Really think that the biggest thing this is doing in the long run is just gonna hasten Florida states maneuver here to get out of the ACC.
- 15:23Speaker 4: It's not a matter of if.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it's happening.
- 15:28Speaker 4: They're pissed, man, they're pissed, whether it's just conspiracy theory or anything like that, like they feel slighted that this happened and they had two people representing the ACC.
- 15:41Speaker 4: That aren't supposed.
- 15:42Speaker 4: I understand that they're not supposed to be any bias from anybody, but that's just ridiculous.
- 15:48Speaker 2: It doesn't need to be a bias to get it right.
- 15:51Speaker 4: I would call common sense to bias, but exactly, Exactly, and you expect somebody to stand up there and point out the fact that you know maybe they're a different offense.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Right, they didn't lose.
- 16:03Speaker 4: Their defense looks better week to week.
- 16:06Speaker 2: We owe it to the game to give him a shot, but it was just.
- 16:08Speaker 3: You're trying to tell me that injury is written into that thing.
- 16:11Speaker 4: Yeah, key player.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Oh my God, if they're going to be without a key player, or?
- 16:16Speaker 2: They killed it 10 years ago.
- 16:18Speaker 2: It just luckily for them and unluckily for Florida State is that the perfect storm for them.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Good thing when Drew Bledsoe went down the Patriots and have that written in for Tom Brady Right, is that how?
- 16:31Speaker 2: it's ridiculous.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I mean it's ridiculous and that's why I agree with, that's why we started with Steve.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Steve Young got really sucked man.
- 16:39Speaker 2: And because I think it is a bad look for football man.
- 16:42Speaker 1: It's such a bad look, man.
- 16:44Speaker 2: It's such a bad look for the sport.
- 16:45Speaker 2: What you teach is in a sport that already has a sport that already has the head injury thing, everything else.
- 16:53Speaker 2: You go ahead and do this.
- 16:54Speaker 2: You know you're going to fight the concussion movie and with, and now you have corporations or you have TV shows that are going to be the highest rated game ever.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Well, are you going to watch that, roosevelt?
- 17:10Speaker 2: It's not.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Hold on, it's not.
- 17:12Speaker 3: It's not just football man.
- 17:13Speaker 3: It's not just football.
- 17:15Speaker 4: That's it.
- 17:15Speaker 4: This is bad for all of college.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Everything is bad for college sport?
- 17:19Speaker 3: Yeah, it's bad for society bro.
- 17:21Speaker 2: They just showed you that it really doesn't matter to do in the field no.
- 17:27Speaker 4: No, it doesn't, it doesn't, and that it what they showed.
- 17:32Speaker 4: More than anything was the dumbest possible way of deciding things is what the college football playoff has really is at this point.
- 17:41Speaker 2: It really is, man.
- 17:42Speaker 2: If it was so smart, why wouldn't?
- 17:44Speaker 2: Why isn't anybody doing it?
- 17:46Speaker 1: I guess you're doing in basketball, but they do 64 teams, or what.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Sixty eight now.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Why don't I just keep the BCS and take the top four?
- 17:54Speaker 2: teams.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Well, that's because it's because they can't control the narrative of a computer.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Oh, I know why, yeah.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Right, because God forbid the computer.
- 18:01Speaker 2: tell the SEC to go ahead and smile and sit the head thing wasn't, you know, because you would say that Florida State got the.
- 18:10Speaker 2: You mean they used to name the Bowden championship series.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Bro, we probably would have been number one in the DCS Strength of record.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Number three, number six, scoring defense.
- 18:18Speaker 2: But what I would say is that when it comes to selecting four or 12, that's the way to do it.
- 18:26Speaker 2: When you're doing two, I don't know it could, you could get a situation like 2000,.
- 18:30Speaker 2: You know, and I don't think.
- 18:32Speaker 2: I think Miami probably should have went over floor or you know, do something sensible Like, but still but still you're arguing over teams that lost.
- 18:41Speaker 3: They beat us right.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Yeah, they beat us and that's kind of that.
- 18:44Speaker 2: And now that would be the huge argument and that's like I guess that's the one.
- 18:49Speaker 3: That's why Texas was automatically in 96 when we beat Florida and then had to replay them oh yeah.
- 18:56Speaker 3: And they were brutal.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Yeah, that was, and that was the Boa Alliance, where you had conferences.
- 19:03Speaker 2: If you win this conference, you go to this bowl, no matter what.
- 19:05Speaker 2: In Arizona state was undefeated that year and they went to the Rose Bowl rather than play floor state.
- 19:12Speaker 2: And Florida State would have beat Arizona State that year, oh man.
- 19:17Speaker 3: So that that.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Yeah, florida, I mean whatever man they haven't, they've never been undefeated.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Florida's never done that there's a thing that there's teams in the SEC that have Georgia.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Auburn straight years.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Oh wait, now Georgia lost that first year, didn't they?
- 19:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it's hard to go undefeated in any conference.
- 19:39Speaker 2: How many undefeated power five come.
- 19:41Speaker 2: I mean, it's hard to do it.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Well, we've done it four times, so I don't know it's not that hard for us, but we're on four to fucking state.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Well, my whole thing is like that.
- 19:51Speaker 4: You said it right there power five.
- 19:53Speaker 4: So how smart is it, if you have five conferences that are gonna be quote unquote power conferences, to only have four spots and your little playoff?
- 20:04Speaker 2: It was a way that they could automatically get in.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Because the pack 12 should be left out.
- 20:09Speaker 2: The SEC is the best and we need to get in every year because our teams, even if they lose to, are better, so we need to have it in there.
- 20:18Speaker 2: We can make that decision if we want, and they just did.
- 20:21Speaker 3: But I mean the Alabama would score a point on our defense.
- 20:24Speaker 3: They can only put up 16 or 17.
- 20:27Speaker 2: We'll never know, man.
- 20:27Speaker 2: That's the sad.
- 20:28Speaker 2: That's the sad.
- 20:29Speaker 3: We're in trouble with first one and after him and Fiske.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I doubt those guys are even gonna play.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Yeah, we're not playing Alabama, so it's fine yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 2: What else is going on in transfer pool?
- 20:43Speaker 2: Well, hold on a second.
- 20:44Speaker 2: What about the transfer pool man?
- 20:47Speaker 2: Let's talk about quarterbacks.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Let's talk about transfer quarterbacks, and I think the biggest names are Cam Ward and DJ Uwe.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Yeah right.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Nothing really changed there.
- 21:14Speaker 4: I mean they're going after Ward Okay.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Did you say another quarterback named C Ward at Florida State?
- 21:22Speaker 4: Yeah, Ooh, I kind of like the way that sounds and it's.
- 21:26Speaker 4: You know, these are the people that Charlie is.
- 21:29Speaker 3: No, it's Cam.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Cam.
- 21:32Speaker 3: All right, that's a tight name, that seems to be the top guy for a number of schools.
- 21:38Speaker 4: I think he'll probably decide here.
- 21:40Speaker 2: He transferred from Washington State, from where Jimmy.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Incarnate, incarnate word.
- 21:45Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, so he'll be, he'll have one year left man which is where it's in.
- 21:51Speaker 4: I think believe it's somewhere in Texas, dude, I don't know.
- 21:53Speaker 4: Okay, tiny school.
- 21:54Speaker 4: I would say that DJ is probably.
- 22:00Speaker 3: I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't want DJ.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Why?
- 22:03Speaker 3: Because I don't want him.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Okay.
- 22:07Speaker 3: He went to Clemson for one.
- 22:09Speaker 3: He's not good for two.
- 22:11Speaker 3: I've seen him fucking play like he's not good.
- 22:14Speaker 2: He had his best.
- 22:14Speaker 2: He played really well.
- 22:15Speaker 2: I think it's going to piss off Tate.
- 22:17Speaker 3: And I think it's going to.
- 22:18Speaker 3: What do you have?
- 22:19Speaker 3: 200 yards and it's going to piss off Tate Rodimaker.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 1: If they're looking for transfer.
- 22:25Speaker 2: I don't think they plan on wanting to start Tate Rodimaker, so if he's upset, go down the road.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Let him battle it out for a starting job.
- 22:34Speaker 2: He stuck with us this whole time.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Yes, he can, he would battle it out.
- 22:37Speaker 3: He went to the swamp and won in the swamp to save a perfect season.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Anthony can go bowl ineligible, right, he's a legend.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Well, I wish they would have given him a chance.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what that's another sad park is if he comes by.
- 22:52Speaker 2: You know you didn't give him a chance to play in the playoff.
- 22:55Speaker 2: You robbed the team from their chance to prove stuff on the field.
- 22:59Speaker 2: That's what you did.
- 23:00Speaker 2: You took it out of their hands.
- 23:02Speaker 4: And he may, you know, maybe he's like what if you do?
- 23:04Speaker 2: What if he comes back and plays better in those playoffs?
- 23:07Speaker 2: You pretty much solidify your position next year.
- 23:11Speaker 2: You know what you kind of floor states look into upgrade and that's what.
- 23:20Speaker 2: That's the name of the game.
- 23:21Speaker 2: That's a.
- 23:23Speaker 2: You're always looking to upgrade the position.
- 23:24Speaker 2: So on a year to year basis, teams or rosters are going to be formed annually.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean, we need a fourth quarterback on the roster for sure.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, but they're going after.
- 23:37Speaker 4: They're going after a guy that's going to play.
- 23:39Speaker 3: We had our third.
- 23:40Speaker 2: You're going after a guy to start for a year.
- 23:44Speaker 4: They, they like, they like what they got in Glenn and and Luke, um, you know, but they, they want to bring in a guy that's going to start.
- 23:56Speaker 3: So I, they.
- 23:56Speaker 3: I like to see a nice heated quarterback battle all off season yeah.
- 24:02Speaker 4: I mean, it would be nice.
- 24:03Speaker 4: I mean, I just competition breeds greatness.
- 24:07Speaker 2: I sure it's just not going to be a bunch of just griping over what they did, because it's going to be hard.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:13Speaker 2: And I don't know how this fan base is going to take this over time.
- 24:19Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 24:19Speaker 2: It's gonna be tough and I don't think anybody should forget it.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Nobody's gonna forget wish they, because that team's already broken up.
- 24:27Speaker 2: They're not gonna get a chance to play again.
- 24:29Speaker 2: That's why I think that they shouldn't play the game to honor themselves, not to To give in to that bullcrap narrative that you're not good enough because you are.
- 24:40Speaker 2: But yeah, we understand that you need to go look what, look out for yourself and do what's best for you.
- 24:46Speaker 2: No, because they just told you that everything we did wasn't good enough.
- 24:51Speaker 2: But we're gonna tell you it is and we're just done.
- 24:53Speaker 2: You guys said it's over, so we're gonna we're out 13, you know.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yeah and I, so I get it, though.
- 25:00Speaker 2: But if they want to play, play like if all the guys that are still on the roster Vote to play then yeah, you play.
- 25:08Speaker 2: But if they don't and they feel Disced and they want to do that, by all means do, do it.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Give them whatever you would have given them if they would have made the playoff.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Give it, give all that stuff, all the incentives, or whatever.
- 25:20Speaker 2: That that's what I would do.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean it.
- 25:26Speaker 4: It's hard to.
- 25:27Speaker 4: It's hard to tell the kids and everybody that they're not gonna get what they, what they would have got.
- 25:33Speaker 4: I know I said it last, last card.
- 25:35Speaker 3: But uh, if my son was on this team I'd be knocking on some doors, nothing violent, you know.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Just give him a piece of my mind and let him right.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Well, you know it's.
- 25:45Speaker 2: It's when they wrote it in there.
- 25:48Speaker 2: It was just funny and I was in denial the whole way, because you think that someone's gonna go in there and be like hold on guys.
- 25:56Speaker 3: I don't even think I was in denial, I just didn't think it was possible right.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Even the people that were, even the people that were pushing it, were surprised when it happened.
- 26:08Speaker 2: They were like whoa, I didn't think they were actually gonna do it.
- 26:10Speaker 2: That was the initial reaction and then that that's because you put a lot Into the game yourself and and you know deep down inside that something that that that wasn't right.
- 26:24Speaker 2: What they did was a bad look for college football, just like we started the show with, and they have NFL now.
- 26:30Speaker 2: So what?
- 26:31Speaker 2: How did the NFL?
- 26:32Speaker 2: We got the dolphins playing tonight, monday night football.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Or the one seed.
- 26:38Speaker 3: So let me just say something here, mike Norville coach of the year in college.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Yeah, mike Daniel, coach of the year in the NFL boom, mike.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Norville did a great job.
- 26:49Speaker 3: That job.
- 26:50Speaker 3: He did it against Louisville might have been his best job.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Definitely for the whole coaching staff.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Yeah, they really stepped up.
- 26:57Speaker 2: The players stepped up and they were.
- 27:00Speaker 2: They were punished for it instead of being rewarded like like they should have been.
- 27:05Speaker 2: You got the the chiefs.
- 27:08Speaker 2: If you watch the end of that game former game receiver Tony and can various, was it cadarius.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Yes, Tony lined up a yard off sides man.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Well, he did.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Yeah, he just didn't check and then I know, put my homes Is mad man, but you got to be mad at your guy man for being like sure he is he is.
- 27:28Speaker 2: But like Dude, that's an obvious one.
- 27:31Speaker 2: You point, and if you point to the official and he'll be like thumbs up, or.
- 27:35Speaker 2: And if you are offside, so be like, hey, back up a little bit.
- 27:37Speaker 4: He won't throw it then and you just well, I'll say this, and I'm not really a big Pat my homes, you know, fan like I don't cave for Pat Mahomes, but he's on field.
- 27:49Speaker 4: He was not afforded the opportunity of seeing it on TV Right, so he just had the players perspective.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Exactly, and it didn't really matter the locker room and it was on the TV and saw how blatantly yeah.
- 28:03Speaker 4: In the neutral zone, Tony was and still came out talking that that cry.
- 28:08Speaker 3: He must have not seen it, but he went back and changed and did it.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah so they he was upset.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and maybe he was talking to the receiver, maybe.
- 28:17Speaker 4: And also maybe they do leave the league in his front office because they have such a bum receiver core Like all you got is man, because what a play man and Swift was in that.
- 28:27Speaker 2: T Swift was in the house, man, yeah, that was an awesome play.
- 28:32Speaker 3: She celebrated a little too early there.
- 28:34Speaker 2: That was still, but that was an all I mean.
- 28:37Speaker 3: I don't sit down the game she didn't.
- 28:39Speaker 3: I mean she's probably like what.
- 28:41Speaker 3: What happened?
- 28:42Speaker 3: I just saw it.
- 28:43Speaker 3: She doesn't know the rules of football, so she's like what you can do that.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Yeah that.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Well, that doesn't.
- 28:47Speaker 2: So a lot of people are like what?
- 28:49Speaker 2: That's a stupid rule.
- 28:50Speaker 2: There's going to be a lot of people that don't know football, but it was a great play though, man, it really was.
- 28:57Speaker 2: It mean that to look to do that, just to sling it?
- 29:01Speaker 2: That's the next evolution of football.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I feel like it starts.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Someone's certainly used a lateral pass like this.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Your coaches are already you got to think, mike McDaniel, well, we've been doing that in flag.
- 29:11Speaker 2: I know flag football is an Olympic event.
- 29:14Speaker 3: I'm back son.
- 29:15Speaker 2: So let's do a little NFL MVP discussion real quick.
- 29:20Speaker 2: We got the dolphins tonight.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I think Tyree kill needs to be mentioned for him to a to us in the conversation.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Yeah, to where he is.
- 29:28Speaker 2: I mean dude, I don't know why you got to put Brock Purdy in there.
- 29:33Speaker 4: I don't know why you guys are.
- 29:34Speaker 2: I'm sure.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Brock is going to be anybody other than Dak if they keep winning and then and and Dak, he put himself in there and he's been doing really well at home.
- 29:44Speaker 4: Only thing that matters is they win.
- 29:45Speaker 4: Right, they have to win.
- 29:47Speaker 4: The Cowboys quarterback is putting up those numbers and they keep winning.
- 29:51Speaker 4: They're going to give it to him.
- 29:52Speaker 4: That's just to give it to given.
- 29:56Speaker 2: That would.
- 29:57Speaker 2: I don't know, we'll see.
- 29:58Speaker 4: I don't think they're going to keep winning.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Well, eagles have.
- 30:00Speaker 2: They're tied now in the division, but if the Eagles went out, they'll still get the tiebreaker.
- 30:05Speaker 2: So they, the Cowboys, still need help from the Eagles.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think the Niners, the way they look right now, and the numbers man, I'm telling you, man, brock Purdy, yeah, we'll see, he is, he's croak.
- 30:21Speaker 4: I mean, wow, they play the Ravens the last pick in the draft.
- 30:23Speaker 4: Play the Ravens and.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Brian Greasy hey.
- 30:28Speaker 4: I got this guy, I was watching this guy doing college games.
- 30:31Speaker 4: That guy has um, yeah, yeah.
- 30:36Speaker 2: He's.
- 30:36Speaker 2: He's going to be up for another coach and job probably.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Hey, would party still be on our roster?
- 30:41Speaker 3: Would he have played?
- 30:42Speaker 3: Would he have played against Florida?
- 30:46Speaker 2: Job of party.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:49Speaker 3: He would have been on our roster.
- 30:50Speaker 3: What, yeah?
- 30:51Speaker 3: When was that?
- 30:53Speaker 3: When he left?
- 30:54Speaker 3: I can't even remember A couple of years ago.
- 30:57Speaker 4: Yeah, it was, yeah, it was, he was just a late.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Take Norvel, just that's like me and my brother brother, it could only be one absolute stud in the family.
- 31:06Speaker 3: And it's me Sorry, rob.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean honestly some guys just got to get cut, chubba.
- 31:12Speaker 4: Chubba was the guy that had all the athletic talent, man.
- 31:13Speaker 4: Man, did you see that run?
- 31:15Speaker 2: against Wisconsin?
- 31:16Speaker 2: I did not, because it's Nebraska in Wisconsin.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it looked really fast.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Of course he's playing against Wisconsin.
- 31:24Speaker 2: I miss that I really did yeah.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Nobody looks fast.
- 31:29Speaker 4: With negative 14 degrees man, we had to go.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Well, that's our, that's all right.
- 31:34Speaker 3: We got to get out of here, but we got a couple of minutes before we go to cold.
- 31:44Speaker 4: So you're not watching the playoff.
- 31:45Speaker 4: You're not Absolutely not, why would you call her and said it's going?
- 31:50Speaker 2: to be the highest rated playoff ever Sweet, absolutely.
- 31:55Speaker 4: Until next year Too many score, too many scoring fans.
- 31:58Speaker 4: You mean a media record got broken every single year tops itself.
- 32:03Speaker 2: That game might just because the names, but I look for that game to be kind of boring Alabama.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Michigan, Florida State had some of the most watched games on you.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I think Florida State deserve the right, it's not the most Defense deserve the right.
- 32:18Speaker 2: That was really impressive performance, legendary performance that I hope is not all time.
- 32:24Speaker 2: It really was.
- 32:24Speaker 2: It really was.
- 32:25Speaker 2: They stepped up and that and that was a really good Louis ville offense, A really good Louisville coach who does not get held down.
- 32:33Speaker 2: He's like a surgeon he's going to figure out how to get some points eventually and you completely shut him down and got punished for it.
- 32:40Speaker 2: It's, it's.
- 32:43Speaker 3: I'm still getting bad.
- 32:44Speaker 3: It really is.
- 32:45Speaker 3: It's unfathomable.
- 32:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it really is.
- 32:47Speaker 2: You know, if you go, back and you were like hey, you know, you're like two years ago hey, you guys are going to go undefeated, You're going to go 13 and 0 and you're going to finish fifth Florida State.
- 33:03Speaker 4: You're going to be playing Georgia.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Who, when we say Georgia I've got 14 and 0.
- 33:08Speaker 3: They're going to rank this man, that's six.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think you guys want to go, you're dropping the fact that they did that.
- 33:16Speaker 2: They put floor.
- 33:17Speaker 2: You have one quality loss on your own oh yeah, florida, georgia is one of the four best teams in by your criteria, Then by Vegas.
- 33:28Speaker 2: So so what are we doing here?
- 33:30Speaker 2: What are we doing here?
- 33:31Speaker 2: You said it's a sham you reward the teams that you want to reward, so you got to let the records happen.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Man Can't do what they did and that's why coaches are feeling they should have the flags up at half mass.
- 33:44Speaker 2: That's why we started the show with what guest Malzahn said.
- 33:47Speaker 2: That's why Mike Leach, we started this yesterday show with that.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Yeah, he told us all what it was going to be.
- 33:54Speaker 2: So we got a long way to get over this.
- 33:56Speaker 2: We got a lot of games, we got celebration bowl this week, and so we'll do that and we'll watch them and react to them and we'll talk to you next time, right here on the North Florida Sports Network.
- 34:10Speaker 4: We had to go.
- 34:11Speaker 4: Our ride was here.
- 34:14Speaker 4: We got a shuttle, we got a shuttle.
