- 0:21Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:25Speaker 1: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Dan ol Malley along
- 0:28Speaker 1: with Trey Trenholm and Raj Sharma, who apparently got the
- 0:33Speaker 1: black shirt memo I did. You could look at us
- 0:36Speaker 1: all go in our sexy black shirt.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I was actually wearing an orange shirt and I was like, nope,
- 0:41Speaker 2: that'll change real quick.
- 0:42Speaker 1: No, you know, sorry, there's there's I know it's starting
- 0:45Speaker 1: to get into Halloween season, but there's no reason to
- 0:47Speaker 1: dress like a pumpkin inside the treehouse.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Oh it's my wccw Sportatorium shirt. Like, it's pretty.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Cool, all right, I take it back. You should support
- 0:58Speaker 1: that thing.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Yeah, wear it tomorrow.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Speaking of things that are orange, yesterday we were talking
- 1:06Speaker 1: about how pumpkin spice searches have gone through the roof
- 1:10Speaker 1: according to Google, and there's even things that people search
- 1:15Speaker 1: for very specific pumpkin spice scented and flavored things such
- 1:20Speaker 1: as pumpkin spice underwear. And we also learned that people
- 1:25Speaker 1: search for pumpkin spice toilet paper. I would like to
- 1:28Speaker 1: take this opportunity to thank Jarrett, one of our Ultimate
- 1:33Speaker 1: Treehouse subscribers, for informing me that dude Wipes is in
- 1:39Speaker 1: on the pumpkin spice trend because Dudewipes has and I
- 1:45Speaker 1: quote from Jarrett, Dudewipes has a dumpkin spice wipe.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna go with no. I will pass on that.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I like the dude Wipes. I am a user of
- 2:03Speaker 1: the dude Wipes. I'm fine with the mint eucalyptus original scent.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I don't really need a pumpkin spice butthole.
- 2:12Speaker 2: But mint eucalyptus wasn't it wouldn't that be like a
- 2:16Speaker 2: little burning.
- 2:19Speaker 1: No, it's it's sort of a fresh feeling.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Okay, So it's just the scent. It's not that that
- 2:25Speaker 2: doesn't have like eucalyptus oil in it.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I don't think so. No, I think it's just a
- 2:29Speaker 1: scented thing.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Yeah, gotcha.
- 2:31Speaker 4: So you like your asshole being minty fresh?
- 2:36Speaker 2: Or or does she?
- 2:43Speaker 3: You know what?
- 2:43Speaker 1: Really, at a certain point, if you're going to get
- 2:47Speaker 1: scented wipes, maybe ask somebody who's down there on a
- 2:52Speaker 1: regular basis what scent they prefer. So instead of thinking
- 2:56Speaker 1: about what you want, maybe think about others.
- 3:03Speaker 2: But what if they come back with like them?
- 3:05Speaker 3: You know what?
- 3:06Speaker 2: The griddle, the baby, we're going to McDonald's, just some
- 3:17Speaker 2: random breakfast food. When you find out what they really like.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Chick fil A has an opportunity here.
- 3:28Speaker 2: What is it, the honey chicken butter biscuit, whatever it
- 3:32Speaker 2: is that. Yeah, I've never had one.
- 3:35Speaker 1: But they're tasty. They are very very tasty. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 1: along with the chicken minies.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 1: So I guess it makes sense if if you really,
- 3:44Speaker 1: really really want to do something for others, while you
- 3:49Speaker 1: could donate to charity instead, you could just ask what
- 3:53Speaker 1: scent of wipes you would they would like you to use,
- 3:57Speaker 1: or if they even cared, they may not have a
- 3:59Speaker 1: prefer friends.
- 4:01Speaker 2: They need to have a preference, do they.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yes, you say that so strongly, it's as if that
- 4:08Speaker 1: it's as if that should be a first date question.
- 4:10Speaker 1: It's like, okay, so if this moved to the next level,
- 4:13Speaker 1: what type of ass wipes do you prefer?
- 4:24Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 4:24Speaker 2: Go ahead try.
- 4:25Speaker 4: I mean, I feel like you should aproach the subject
- 4:28Speaker 4: of if they're going to eat ass first before you
- 4:30Speaker 4: talk about what tastes the flavor they'll enjoy.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Oh, if you're on if you're on a first date,
- 4:35Speaker 1: then you should already know. I think I think I
- 4:40Speaker 1: think you get that out of the way via text
- 4:42Speaker 1: before you set that first date. It's just that's just
- 4:45Speaker 1: the list of questions to get to the next round.
- 4:48Speaker 2: So two things do you eat?
- 4:50Speaker 3: Ask?
- 4:50Speaker 2: And how's the chicken?
- 4:57Speaker 1: Dating really has uh eve over the years.
- 5:04Speaker 2: It's you know, you have to you have to ask,
- 5:07Speaker 2: make sure what you know? What what page you're both on.
- 5:10Speaker 1: You really need to know. And really it just saves
- 5:12Speaker 1: everybody time if you know what you're kind of into
- 5:15Speaker 1: or not into, right, I mean people put I mean
- 5:17Speaker 1: I'm ironically enough, I'm speaking completely out of my own
- 5:21Speaker 1: ass here because I have not dated in over a decade.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Uh and so I don't really know what the current
- 5:32Speaker 1: I don't know slate of questions or get to know
- 5:36Speaker 1: you type stuff people are engaging in before actually going
- 5:40Speaker 1: on a first date. Because so much of all this
- 5:41Speaker 1: stuff is online now, I don't know if you're having
- 5:45Speaker 1: to go through a questionnaire before you meet up with someone.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I don't know how much people put in their dating profiles. Yeah,
- 5:52Speaker 1: I don't know these things.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that's uh, I don't I don't think match asks
- 5:58Speaker 2: you those questions. I don't think that's on the match
- 6:01Speaker 2: dot Com questionnaire.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Like, well, they may not ask it, but that doesn't
- 6:04Speaker 1: mean you can't include it. I mean, if you're really
- 6:06Speaker 1: into something, maybe you want to put that as part
- 6:09Speaker 1: of your handle or your profile name, like ass eater
- 6:11Speaker 1: twenty two.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Mm.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Yeah, uh, I think you'd have to go sixty nine
- 6:16Speaker 4: if you're gonna go that.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I went with the two two's the double yeah,
- 6:24Speaker 1: I mean yeah, the double duce.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that's gonna be. That's what I'll do. I'll be
- 6:30Speaker 2: I'll just go on match. I just want to see
- 6:32Speaker 2: who it attracts. I'll just go double duce is my handle,
- 6:36Speaker 2: and see who see who starts.
- 6:38Speaker 1: No, I think you should go under his ass eater
- 6:42Speaker 1: and I bet you're gonna have to have a number,
- 6:44Speaker 1: because I guarantee you someone's already got it.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I don't want to see who responds.
- 6:53Speaker 3: I do.
- 6:55Speaker 1: You're not the least bit curious.
- 6:57Speaker 2: No, you can just wear a shirt that says acid
- 7:03Speaker 2: twenty two and walk down Oaklawn and see how it goes.
- 7:07Speaker 1: You won't make it a block. You will be popular.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I'll be the bell of the ball at the round.
- 7:21Speaker 1: It'll be like a buffet. But I mean, Raja, I
- 7:26Speaker 1: think you kind of have a girlfriend now, so you're
- 7:28Speaker 1: off the market. But Trey, you're still you're still swinging
- 7:32Speaker 1: out there. So if do you have anything in your
- 7:36Speaker 1: online dating profile that is just kind of out there? No,
- 7:43Speaker 1: you don't put in there like your sober or that
- 7:46Speaker 1: you know all women come after your chihuahua.
- 7:51Speaker 3: I don't. I don't really even have a dating profile
- 7:54Speaker 3: at the moment. I'm not.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Online dating is just a cesspool. I've it's again things
- 8:05Speaker 4: you know, when you're over forty, over fifty, online dating
- 8:11Speaker 4: it's it's just it's worthless.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Well, if you're going into it with that level of hope,
- 8:20Speaker 1: I can't imagine you attracting anyone fun.
- 8:23Speaker 4: I'm not going into it with that level of hope.
- 8:25Speaker 4: I have been through it, and I mean it's not like,
- 8:30Speaker 4: you know, it's like running a marathon and then going
- 8:32Speaker 4: I don't like running marathons, you know.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Yeah, so you know, maybe maybe though you're just you
- 8:43Speaker 1: haven't hit your era just yet. Maybe you'll hit your
- 8:49Speaker 1: sweet spot over the age of sixty. Like over the
- 8:51Speaker 1: age of sixty you are going I mean, you're already
- 8:54Speaker 1: a catch, but once you get over sixty, you'll really
- 8:57Speaker 1: be a catch because you'll be able to drive at night. Uh,
- 9:03Speaker 1: you know how to operate computers. You're single, never never married, no.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Kids, still have bowel control.
- 9:13Speaker 2: I mean.
- 9:15Speaker 1: These are important things the older we get. These are
- 9:17Speaker 1: the things you can put in your new dating profile.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I can control ass and I can eat ass. I mean, who.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Wouldn't want you? It brings new me into control all delete.
- 9:31Speaker 1: And if we're and if we're being honest, if you
- 9:34Speaker 1: are into that, I think it's important that you find
- 9:37Speaker 1: someone that also can control their bowels.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Yes, I think because I know that out on the
- 9:43Speaker 3: first couple of dates.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I mean I don't know on day three when you
- 9:48Speaker 2: have to change their diaper. That's a different story. Yeah,
- 9:51Speaker 2: you know now if you have to change their diaper,
- 9:54Speaker 2: you're in it for the money.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Yeah, because like, get in your twenties, follow me to
- 9:59Speaker 1: the back. That room was hot, And when you're in
- 10:01Speaker 1: your fifties and sixties, oh, follow.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Me to the bath I might not make it all
- 10:08Speaker 4: the way there, or when they picked the bathroom with
- 10:13Speaker 4: the changing station.
- 10:21Speaker 5: You're in the Treehouse, visit us online at Treehouse on

- 10:41Speaker 1: industry because that's your bread and butter, and you do
- 10:43Speaker 1: free roof inspections for people, but you are also now
- 10:46Speaker 1: making people's outdoor dreams come true.
- 10:49Speaker 6: Absolutely, Dan, It's a very fun time when you get
- 10:51Speaker 6: to go outside in the backyard and start putting together
- 10:55Speaker 6: some ideas for folks that you know, want to use
- 10:57Speaker 6: their backyard more and they just don't know.
- 10:59Speaker 2: What to do with it.
- 11:00Speaker 6: They thought they you know, it was really cool when
- 11:02Speaker 6: they went to some friend's house and they have, you know,
- 11:05Speaker 6: a nice extended patio and it's got to cover on
- 11:07Speaker 6: it and they're able to go out there and watch
- 11:09Speaker 6: TV and they have a little beer cooler on it.
- 11:11Speaker 3: All those things.
- 11:12Speaker 6: And so when we come out and say, yeah, all
- 11:14Speaker 6: that's possible, let's let's make a design. Let's show you
- 11:16Speaker 6: what's visible. We show you some photos of previous projects.
- 11:19Speaker 6: We can measure out what your you know, expectations of
- 11:22Speaker 6: how much of the backyard you want to utilize for this,
- 11:25Speaker 6: and so that's all important stuff. And then on top
- 11:27Speaker 6: of that, right now, we're going to be running a
- 11:29Speaker 6: promotion that everybody that calls us has us come out,
- 11:33Speaker 6: do an estimate, show them what they could be having.
- 11:35Speaker 6: They're going to get in into a promotion, and at
- 11:37Speaker 6: the end of the promotion, we're going to be giving
- 11:39Speaker 6: away a big green egg, so someone's gonna get very lucky.
- 11:43Speaker 6: These are phenomen pieces of barbecue equipment, steamers, all kinds
- 11:47Speaker 6: of different things you can do with it. So at
- 11:48Speaker 6: the end of the promotion, somebody's going to get one
- 11:50Speaker 6: of those.
- 11:51Speaker 2: That's very cool.
- 11:51Speaker 1: And if you win that big green egg, Daniel and
- 11:54Speaker 1: his team would be happy to build you a patio, outdoor, kitchen,
- 11:57Speaker 1: entertainment space to go around it. Three COOKDFW. Get that
- 12:02Speaker 1: estimate right now eight three three COOKDFW or the website

- 13:00Speaker 1: Blok bathrooms in China make you watch ads to get
- 13:02Speaker 1: toilet paper?
- 13:05Speaker 2: Interesting?
- 13:07Speaker 1: This is terrifying.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I figured because it was Asia that would go with
- 13:14Speaker 2: the water system. M hm.
- 13:18Speaker 1: So I don't know how public bathrooms work in other countries.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I do not have enough experience. Most of the countries
- 13:27Speaker 1: I've been to all operate on the Western American style
- 13:32Speaker 1: bathroom setup situation, but in China things are very, very different.
- 13:37Speaker 1: If you walk into a public bathroom in China, in
- 13:40Speaker 1: order to get toilet paper, you may have to watch
- 13:42Speaker 1: an ad. It's a video that's actually gone viral and
- 13:45Speaker 1: it shows how it works. You scan a QR code
- 13:48Speaker 1: that plays an AD on your phone. Then the machine
- 13:52Speaker 1: spits out a modest amount of toilet paper, something like
- 13:55Speaker 1: six squares, and if you need more, you have to
- 13:58Speaker 1: watch another ad. And for those of us that like
- 14:01Speaker 1: to use lots of toilet paper because you don't want
- 14:04Speaker 1: any accidents, then you may be there a while.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Can I just watch a sitcom?
- 14:15Speaker 1: I'm with you. I mean, look, if it's me, I'm
- 14:17Speaker 1: in China, my stomach's not used to their cuisine. Just
- 14:21Speaker 1: pop in a documentary. I'm going to be in here
- 14:23Speaker 1: for a bit.
- 14:26Speaker 2: You're feeling better. Yeah, and World War Two was amazing.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I watched it in color and black and white. They
- 14:37Speaker 1: do give you the option that if you don't want
- 14:39Speaker 1: to watch an ad, you can pay a few cents
- 14:42Speaker 1: for toilet paper instead.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that makes more sense.
- 14:48Speaker 4: I mean, God, if you're in Mexico and they did that,
- 14:50Speaker 4: you could watch a Band of.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Brothers, including the including the interviews with the real guy
- 15:00Speaker 1: that airs after the all the episodes.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Oh, don't discount India, my friends.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I mean, if you really think about it, I mean,
- 15:10Speaker 1: this really is It's look, pay as you go. Toilet
- 15:16Speaker 1: paper is something that I would expect out of a
- 15:19Speaker 1: capitalist society here in America, not in China. And I
- 15:26Speaker 1: hope we never adopt it.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Well, I mean it's it's for a niche audience. I'm
- 15:31Speaker 2: guessing because they do have the I just looked it up.
- 15:34Speaker 2: They like they use the water like the bidet system.
- 15:38Speaker 2: So it's people that are probably like expats or maybe
- 15:41Speaker 2: the younger generation is hip to the Western style of
- 15:45Speaker 2: using toilet, but usually squatting as well, So if it's
- 15:50Speaker 2: a Western toilet, there's probably tourists and expats trying to
- 15:54Speaker 2: use his bidets. I mean, yeah, they have the water
- 15:57Speaker 2: host system, just like in India as well.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I know Japan loves them a fancy toilet, but they do.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Yeah, they're pretty amazing.
- 16:08Speaker 1: I have yet to experience a true Japanese toilet. I've
- 16:12Speaker 1: seen them on television and film, and honestly, I feel
- 16:17Speaker 1: like Captain America wielding mulenir was just as exciting as me.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Trying a Japanese toilet will be.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:25Speaker 2: I mean you can heat the seat, the seat and
- 16:28Speaker 2: then the water can be the temperature can be adjusted
- 16:31Speaker 2: for the water.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it's amazing, gets anything done.
- 16:39Speaker 4: I've seen two of them in neither of one of
- 16:40Speaker 4: them work correctly, so I don't know.
- 16:44Speaker 1: See, I'm surprised that raj you would be so on
- 16:47Speaker 1: board with the fancy technology forward Japanese toilets because you're
- 16:51Speaker 1: terrified of AI, so I would think you would be
- 16:55Speaker 1: a little cautious around advanced technology toilets.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I think it's I mean, I think the technology technology
- 17:02Speaker 2: is a little different than I mean, if it starts
- 17:06Speaker 2: talking to me, I'm leaving like nice boop, Raj, I'm like,
- 17:12Speaker 2: we're out.
- 17:14Speaker 1: I'm more scary. It's called it's called boundaries.
- 17:18Speaker 4: I am more shocked at A. Raj understood your geeky
- 17:22Speaker 4: Marvel Thor reference and b didn't call you out on it.
- 17:26Speaker 1: No, I mean, I don't think you understood it at all.
- 17:28Speaker 2: No, I understand, I got it. I'm I'm a Marvel
- 17:31Speaker 2: fan as well. So but no, now I'm getting used
- 17:35Speaker 2: to you guys doing this. At first, it was like
- 17:37Speaker 2: you guys are super nerds, and it used to just
- 17:39Speaker 2: be me the nerd that was the nerdy one in
- 17:41Speaker 2: the room. So when you make these references now I'm like, oh,
- 17:45Speaker 2: go nerds.
- 17:46Speaker 4: I love you guys, because if you put me on
- 17:51Speaker 4: the spot, what was the name of Thor's hammer, I
- 17:53Speaker 4: couldn't have told you.
- 17:57Speaker 1: It's important to not just look at the films but watch.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Them over and over, apparently like I have kind of done.
- 18:09Speaker 1: I think me and a Japanese toilet would be quite
- 18:11Speaker 1: dangerous because with the heated sea and the temperature controlled water,
- 18:16Speaker 1: I mean, I'm on a toilet for way too long
- 18:19Speaker 1: as it is, like like I've seen news articles where
- 18:23Speaker 1: it's like and we've talked about it here on the
- 18:25Speaker 1: show before, where they're like, you should not be on
- 18:26Speaker 1: the toilet for more than a few minutes, and if
- 18:28Speaker 1: any additional time you spend there, you're likely to develop hemorrhoids,
- 18:34Speaker 1: or it's just not healthy for you, or I don't know,
- 18:37Speaker 1: go outside and socialize instead. So if you then introduce
- 18:40Speaker 1: into my toilet time a high end Japanese toilet, I
- 18:45Speaker 1: really may not have much of a reason to come out.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Going to be your version of the start per image
- 18:52Speaker 2: of recliner I live here now, especially if it has
- 19:01Speaker 2: a massage function.
- 19:02Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Oh god, oh yeah, then it doesn't matter what scent
- 19:09Speaker 1: I get of wipes.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Yeah, throwing a VR helmet, Yeah you are, You're never leaving.
- 19:20Speaker 1: That's a good.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I could rule the world up from that from my throne.
- 19:29Speaker 3: I just no.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Remember that video we played a long time ago about
- 19:32Speaker 4: you know, they had like the spinning casket with a
- 19:35Speaker 4: guy in the car.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's your.
- 19:38Speaker 4: You're you're gonna be the guy on the toilet with
- 19:40Speaker 4: your little helmet on and spinning around your funeral.
- 19:46Speaker 1: That's probably how I died, and you probably couldn't get
- 19:49Speaker 1: me off the toilet, so you just just picked the
- 19:51Speaker 1: whole thing up and just stuck it. Yeah, that actually
- 19:54Speaker 1: might track.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I'm not coming to that roll. He looks so peaceful, You're.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Like, he really he died doing or what he loves,
- 20:12Speaker 1: which is alone taking a dump. I will say, I
- 20:18Speaker 1: find it. I find it interesting that growing up as kids,
- 20:22Speaker 1: we had no problem drinking water, you know, out of
- 20:25Speaker 1: the hose. Uh. And you're saying, rag that that's the
- 20:29Speaker 1: same type of system they use for butt cleaning in
- 20:31Speaker 1: other countries.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Well, it's I mean, it's attached to the wall. It's
- 20:35Speaker 2: it's not you know, it's not made for you know,
- 20:38Speaker 2: everybody there knows not to drink it.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's so it so everyone. So that's not
- 20:45Speaker 1: drinkable water. That's just like it's not mouthwater. It's just
- 20:48Speaker 1: ass water.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I think it can be whatever you want to be.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I think I think I think people need to know.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Yeah, we we just use it for your butt.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Uh.
- 21:01Speaker 2: And it's just it's just a little it's the hose
- 21:03Speaker 2: isn't too long to like if you were to try
- 21:05Speaker 2: to drink it. You were trying to drink it, like
- 21:08Speaker 2: that's the thing. It wasn't like since it's here, but.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I would think you want a lot of slack on
- 21:14Speaker 1: it because or are you supposed to like back up
- 21:17Speaker 1: to it.
- 21:18Speaker 2: No, you just kind of you kind of you just
- 21:19Speaker 2: kind of take it off the thing and in between
- 21:21Speaker 2: your legs and give it a give it some spray
- 21:24Speaker 2: and it comes out pretty fast and it cleans and
- 21:27Speaker 2: then you kind of wait a minute or two it
- 21:30Speaker 2: does it dry?
- 21:31Speaker 1: Having a does it have an adjustable nozzle? So if
- 21:34Speaker 1: you want more or less? I mean this, I mean
- 21:36Speaker 1: if if if you can choose it for your plants outside,
- 21:39Speaker 1: I would think you'd want the same function, you know,
- 21:41Speaker 1: for your backside.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Uh no, uh it uh it's it's in a public restroom.
- 21:48Speaker 2: It's one function, but like at home, you can have
- 21:50Speaker 2: different settings and different speeds and yeah, it's.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Not a super soaker, it kind of is.
- 22:03Speaker 4: You're an American, you're in the Treehouse.
- 22:15Speaker 5: Visit us online at Treehouse on air dot com. You're

- 22:37Speaker 1: All week, we've been covering the twenty things that we
- 22:41Speaker 1: grew up with that would destroy kids today. We've done
- 22:46Speaker 1: really really well. We've made it all the way through
- 22:52Speaker 1: ten eleven things. We've made it to eleven things. Pretty
- 22:57Speaker 1: good for us because we're a slow moving top type
- 23:00Speaker 1: of show when it comes to these types of deals.
- 23:03Speaker 1: But we've been doing all week. We started on the
- 23:05Speaker 1: Treehouse plus episode we covered the first handful of things
- 23:08Speaker 1: that would destroy kids today that we all grew up with,
- 23:11Speaker 1: and then we did a few more yesterday, and we're
- 23:12Speaker 1: gonna do just a few more today, all right, So
- 23:14Speaker 1: here we go the continuation of twenty things that would
- 23:17Speaker 1: destroy kids today that we all grew up with. Number twelve,
- 23:21Speaker 1: calling your friend's house because you'd probably have to talk
- 23:24Speaker 1: to their parents first, Like, yeah, actually I did. It
- 23:28Speaker 1: was very intentional, like if you wanted to hang out
- 23:30Speaker 1: with someone, you had two options. You called or you
- 23:34Speaker 1: just went over there. Yeah, and if they live far away,
- 23:37Speaker 1: then you had to call.
- 23:41Speaker 4: And for the most part you you had to be
- 23:44Speaker 4: polite on the phone and say, you know, hi, missus,
- 23:48Speaker 4: O'Malley this is Trey Man.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I speak to Dan please you know who.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Is Yeah, And my mom really loved loved that because
- 23:57Speaker 1: she'd get the good the polite child that would do
- 24:01Speaker 1: that and call and then she'd be like no and
- 24:02Speaker 1: hang up.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Yeah. See that was the benefit I had. Like I said,
- 24:08Speaker 2: we had our own line upstairs, so I didn't have
- 24:12Speaker 2: to worry about anybody else answering the phone.
- 24:15Speaker 3: It was.
- 24:15Speaker 2: It was just it was me, so I'd have them
- 24:17Speaker 2: call me.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I'm like, if you want to call, did you have
- 24:22Speaker 1: a business card as well? Here's my number?
- 24:24Speaker 2: You go, I'm indeed, of course I didn't.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, number thirteen, No caller ID. You just had
- 24:32Speaker 1: to be ready to talk to whoever was calling you had.
- 24:35Speaker 1: It was all a mystery, no idea it was calling.
- 24:37Speaker 1: But if it's if the phone is ringing, there's a
- 24:39Speaker 1: reason for it. So you answered it and you would
- 24:41Speaker 1: run to it because you didn't want to miss the call.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Yeah, but I mean in those days, I mean, hell
- 24:49Speaker 4: if it I mean it was probably a wrong number.
- 24:51Speaker 4: But I mean he didn't have the spam robocalls and
- 24:54Speaker 4: all that other stuff. No, And now the other the
- 24:57Speaker 4: other thing about phone calling that is also something that
- 25:02Speaker 4: would be completely lost is the fact you had to
- 25:04Speaker 4: remember phone numbers.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Yes, I talk about that on stage. I was like
- 25:09Speaker 2: if if people my age go to jail to night,
- 25:11Speaker 2: we're getting out in an hour. You guys are stuck
- 25:15Speaker 2: because you're keep trying to dial four and see what happens.
- 25:19Speaker 1: You might as well just beat your face against that
- 25:21Speaker 1: machine because you're not going to know anything useful.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Oh. I've asked kids, I'm like, do you know any
- 25:26Speaker 2: phone numbers? Like no, I'm like any at all, Like
- 25:31Speaker 2: not even like nine to one one?
- 25:33Speaker 1: Do you know your own area code?
- 25:35Speaker 2: Jesus yeah, and you'll be stunned these kids. I'm like,
- 25:39Speaker 2: I can. I can remember only numbers off the top
- 25:41Speaker 2: of my head if I if I'm in a pinch
- 25:43Speaker 2: and I need to call somebody.
- 25:46Speaker 1: I think this might be one of the oldest man
- 25:48Speaker 1: things that I do and will die with. I still
- 25:53Speaker 1: have my original cell phone number, and I will die
- 25:56Speaker 1: with that phone number.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Oh I do too. That's I have had mine for
- 26:04Speaker 3: twenty nine years.
- 26:05Speaker 1: I guess I've had mine for twenty five.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yeah. I had to switch mine about fifteen years ago.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Oh, that makes me nauseous just to think about it.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Yeah, because I switched services and then like you can't
- 26:19Speaker 2: that's before you could bring your number over. So maybe
- 26:21Speaker 2: it was twenty years ago before you could bring your
- 26:23Speaker 2: own number over. But I still remember what mine was,
- 26:26Speaker 2: and I do know that people have called it and
- 26:29Speaker 2: have told me that the lady who has my phone
- 26:31Speaker 2: will if they text, she'll respond back with not the comedian.
- 26:38Speaker 1: It's nice of her, I guess, but yeah, I mean
- 26:42Speaker 1: answering the phone back in the d like everything has
- 26:44Speaker 1: come full circle now. Because we were young, there was
- 26:47Speaker 1: no caller ID and you answered the phone. Now when
- 26:53Speaker 1: someone calls and it says no caller ID, we throw
- 26:56Speaker 1: that phone across the room.
- 26:57Speaker 2: We want none of it. No, No, it's like scam
- 27:01Speaker 2: likely spam. I'll tell you what the the intentions of
- 27:05Speaker 2: that caller is, right, which which tells you if nothing
- 27:09Speaker 2: comes up.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Then you know that's some dark web stuff. I want
- 27:15Speaker 1: none of it.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you or would screen call? I mean
- 27:19Speaker 2: you could screen calls when the answering machine sort of yeah,
- 27:23Speaker 2: came on board. I was pretty popular. Yeah mine somewhere.
- 27:28Speaker 1: There you go. And then getting the actual little caller
- 27:30Speaker 1: ID extension unit with phone yeah all right, number fourteen,
- 27:36Speaker 1: blowing into your video games to make them work. Yes, which,
- 27:43Speaker 1: by the way, if you really want to feel old,
- 27:46Speaker 1: not that you have a choice here. Just the other day,
- 27:49Speaker 1: Super Mario Brothers turned forty.
- 27:54Speaker 2: And on Pond Stars, I believe a guys sold the
- 27:57Speaker 2: original I was trying to sell the original suit for
- 28:00Speaker 2: Mario Brothers, like sealed and in the actual box, and
- 28:04Speaker 2: he wouldn't take less than one point five million dollars.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I someone's gonna buy it, I hold out.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Yeah. They said there was a similar one that was sold,
- 28:19Speaker 2: the gold one that was like a limited dish one
- 28:21Speaker 2: that came out, Oh yeah, sold for like four million
- 28:23Speaker 2: dollars something crazy like that.
- 28:26Speaker 4: There was I forget the name of the show on Netflix.
- 28:28Speaker 4: It was like It's Golden Auctions. But they one episode
- 28:32Speaker 4: was about this guy. They went to his house and
- 28:35Speaker 4: he had, I mean the most amazing video game collection.
- 28:40Speaker 4: I mean he had all the originals from Nintendo, like Atari, Sega, everything,
- 28:45Speaker 4: and I forgot what the number they threw out that
- 28:47Speaker 4: it was worth, but I mean it was millions.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:51Speaker 4: But I mean do they even do they even have
- 28:53Speaker 4: game character anymore? Or is everything online?
- 28:56Speaker 1: I think it's all online now, yeah, I think it's
- 29:00Speaker 1: all online.
- 29:01Speaker 2: I never had to I never had to use that
- 29:03Speaker 2: because we didn't. We weren't allowed to have the video
- 29:06Speaker 2: game stuff.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I'm sorry.
- 29:10Speaker 2: I had the original Nintendo for a couple of weeks.
- 29:13Speaker 2: It was a Buddy of Mines and it was one
- 29:16Speaker 2: hour every Saturday. I could. I could excite Bike was
- 29:19Speaker 2: the only thing I played.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Gotcha.
- 29:22Speaker 2: So yeah, I never had I saw people do it
- 29:24Speaker 2: and I'm like, does that really work? And it did.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I still remember. I still remember kindergarten and they had
- 29:31Speaker 1: a Nintendo in the school that they had brought in
- 29:34Speaker 1: and we were all taking turn to playing Super Mario
- 29:37Speaker 1: Brothers and Duck Hunt because it was, you know, the
- 29:39Speaker 1: combo thing.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Wow.
- 29:41Speaker 1: So I still remember that.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Yeah. And then.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I was fortunate because my dad was kind of computer
- 29:49Speaker 1: geeky nerdy because not only did we have the Apple
- 29:52Speaker 1: to E when it came out, my dad also had
- 29:54Speaker 1: the Atari twenty six hundred and we uh, so I
- 29:59Speaker 1: grew up with that. So I we grew up playing
- 30:00Speaker 1: computer games and things. So there was a I was.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I was fortunate to be able to have not every system,
- 30:08Speaker 1: but I had a Nintendo. Then I had a Sega.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I had a game Boy. Oh game Boy.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Yeah, we had the in television when I was really
- 30:15Speaker 2: really young. That was like the first one. And that
- 30:19Speaker 2: was because you know, we were kids, like young young kids,
- 30:21Speaker 2: so it's like that'll entertain them while you know, the
- 30:23Speaker 2: adults do whatever the stuff around the house they needed
- 30:25Speaker 2: to do. When we got to you know, reading, writing
- 30:28Speaker 2: and math and all that, then I was like, no
- 30:30Speaker 2: more games, now you study. That's when the Indian side
- 30:34Speaker 2: came out. I was like, you get one hour a week,
- 30:38Speaker 2: and I was like, this is just I like, excite bike,
- 30:40Speaker 2: but this is I'm done now.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:42Speaker 1: So yeah, last one for today of the twenty things
- 30:45Speaker 1: that would destroy kids today that we all lived through.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Number fifteen getting a summer job.
- 30:55Speaker 2: I didn't. I didn't. We mowed lawns. That's what.
- 30:58Speaker 1: That's a job that absolutely counts that. That was your job.
- 31:01Speaker 1: And that was good because you learned about business and
- 31:03Speaker 1: entrepreneurialship and all that kind of stuff and you know,
- 31:06Speaker 1: sweating outside and stuff.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and I also learned that adults will rip the
- 31:10Speaker 2: rip kids off really fucking quick. They do. Man, They're
- 31:18Speaker 2: like we were charging I think it was twenty this
- 31:21Speaker 2: is I mean, I was fourteen thirteen. It was me
- 31:24Speaker 2: and my buddy AJ next door, and he had the
- 31:27Speaker 2: lawnmowers and the weed Eater and we would do the
- 31:29Speaker 2: front in the back. We're like, hey, can we do
- 31:31Speaker 2: fifteen dollars for the front fifteen dollars for the back?
- 31:34Speaker 2: And they're like, how about we just give you twenty
- 31:37Speaker 2: flat And it's like one hundreds it's one hundred thousand
- 31:40Speaker 2: degrees outside in Mesquites and I'm like, ah, man, but
- 31:43Speaker 2: it's twenty bucks. And we would get four or five
- 31:46Speaker 2: lines in a day.
- 31:47Speaker 1: There you go, Yeah, that's not bad. So that was
- 31:51Speaker 1: your So that was your first job.
- 31:53Speaker 2: That was my first job, and then my first actual
- 31:56Speaker 2: job was the Mesquite Rodeo. But yeah, I worked at
- 32:02Speaker 2: the road. Yet I love both of you.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Apparently DEI is not new. The difference was you didn't
- 32:22Speaker 1: want to be there either.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Don Gay was ahead of his time.
