Podcasthero.com. Welcome to the Daily Quote, the
• 0:05
podcast designed to kick start your day in a positive way.

I'm your host, Andrew Mcgibburn, and let's jump into today's
• 0:12
quote from Yogi Berra. For those who don't know, Yogi
• 0:16
was a legendary baseball player and Hall of Fame catcher for the
• 0:19
New York Yankees, but he's equally famous for his quirky,
• 0:24
paradoxical sayings. That sounds silly at first, but
• 0:28
revealed deep truths. Yogi Berra once said If you
• 0:34
don't know where you're going, you might end up someplace else.
• 0:39
On the surface, this sounds absurd.
• 0:42
Of course, if you don't know where you're going, you'll end
• 0:44
up somewhere else. That's how directions work.
• 0:49
  But that's exactly Yogi's genius.
• 0:52
He's stating the obvious and forcing us to realize we're
• 0:56
ignoring it. Most people are walking around
• 0:59
through life without a clear destination.
• 1:01
They're busy, they're moving, they're doing things, but they
• 1:05
haven't actually decided where they're trying to go.
• 1:09
So they end up somewhere, just not where they wanted to be.
• 1:14
You can't aim at nothing and hit something meaningful.
• 1:18
  You can't drift toward excellence.
• 1:21
You can't accidentally build the life you want without a clear
• 1:25
direction. Every path looks equally valid,
• 1:29
every opportunity seems worth taking, every distraction feels
• 1:34
justified. And 10 years later you look
• 1:38
around and wonder how you got nowhere.
• 1:43
Yogi's telling us, define your destination first.
• 1:46
Get clear on where you're actually going.
• 1:50
Because if you don't, you'll still end up somewhere.
• 1:53
You just won't like where that somewhere is.
• 1:55
So here's today's question. Where are you going?
• 2:01
Not where are you drifting, but where are you going?
• 2:07
Because if you don't decide, you'll still arrive somewhere,
• 2:11
just probably not where you want to be.
• 2:14
That's going to do it for today. I'm Anna McGivern, signing up
• 2:17
for now, but I'll be back tomorrow.
• 2:21
Same pod time, same pod station with another daily quote.
