- 3:18Speaker 3: Well, look, I thank you so much for taking some time.
- 3:20Speaker 3: I know you're trying to get out of here because
- 3:22Speaker 3: you got to get ready for tomorrow. Right, Yes, sir,
- 3:24Speaker 3: that's Christy Hubbard. She's telling you a little bit about tomorrow.
- 3:27Speaker 3: It's the Battle of the Grills. Christy, thank you so much,
- 3:29Speaker 3: thank you. Good day, all right, Christy Hebbard on your
- 3:31Speaker 3: radio here with lead team member with Rebel Outdoor Power,
- 3:34Speaker 3: Rebel Ace Hardware here in Brandon. Get out here and
- 3:37Speaker 3: shop around today, all right. Cbssports dot Com has ranked
- 3:43Speaker 3: the conferences, the collective conferences, all ten of them headed
- 3:47Speaker 3: into the twenty twenty six football season, and they don't
- 3:52Speaker 3: really go into well, they do go into some of it,
- 3:55Speaker 3: how they did this as far as the questions, of course,
- 3:57Speaker 3: are becoming more important too. With college football the Playoff
- 4:01Speaker 3: destined for further expansion, automatic qualifiers, strength of schedule, the
- 4:05Speaker 3: overall conference strength will become increasingly more important to the
- 4:09Speaker 3: sports future.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Now that's this is me saying this. If the College Football.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Playoff commtee really admits, like, what's the strength of schedule
- 4:17Speaker 3: this right now, I don't know how much they're really
- 4:20Speaker 3: paying attention to a lot of that says, but what
- 4:22Speaker 3: about the ACC in Big twelve? Has the gaps between
- 4:24Speaker 3: them and the top two changed? Meanwhile, the group of
- 4:26Speaker 3: six hunderd win its own realignment during the off season,
- 4:29Speaker 3: it says, with the Pac twelves resurgence. So here's how
- 4:33Speaker 3: they've ranked the conferences. The Big Ten number one should
- 4:37Speaker 3: be no surprise. I know a lot of SC fans
- 4:39Speaker 3: will disagree with this. The only conference that has truly
- 4:41Speaker 3: backed up its claim at being the best. Three different
- 4:44Speaker 3: Big Ten champions Our teams have won the national championship
- 4:47Speaker 3: in the past three years, and the conference has been
- 4:50Speaker 3: just as dominant beyond the title games since the power
- 4:53Speaker 3: for realignment shuffle. The Big Ten owns the best postseason record,
- 4:58Speaker 3: including a nine and three marks winning percentage of seventy
- 5:01Speaker 3: five percent against other conferences in the College Football Playoff
- 5:05Speaker 3: three times as many College Football Playoff wins as the
- 5:08Speaker 3: next best. It's also the only conference in the country
- 5:11Speaker 3: with a five hundred or better record against all nine
- 5:15Speaker 3: conferences over the past two seasons. Now, the SEC will
- 5:20Speaker 3: argue that it's better top to bottom, and sure that's defensible.
- 5:23Speaker 3: The average SEC team ranks higher in the CBS Sports
- 5:27Speaker 3: Top one thirty eight. But at some point it has
- 5:29Speaker 3: to show up on the field in the win column.
- 5:30Speaker 2: And that's the thing is.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Some of it has to be perception at this point
- 5:36Speaker 3: for the SEC. SEC fans when we see it, it's
- 5:40Speaker 3: this may show up on the text line here in
- 5:41Speaker 3: a minute. Yeah man, but we're better top to bottom,
- 5:44Speaker 3: top to bottom, we're better. Yeah, but on what metric?
- 5:48Speaker 3: What metric do you put that in? I think it's
- 5:51Speaker 3: a perception at this point that the SEC is better
- 5:55Speaker 3: top to bottom. Yeah man, But the Big Tens garbage
- 5:58Speaker 3: on the bottom end are they? I mean, they're nine
- 6:01Speaker 3: and three against other conferences in the College Football Playoff,
- 6:04Speaker 3: in postseason ballgames. And there's some other stuff here as
- 6:08Speaker 3: far as says, over the past two seasons, the Big
- 6:11Speaker 3: Ten is ten and seven overall against the SEC eight
- 6:14Speaker 3: and two in the postseason. The resume speaks for itself.
- 6:17Speaker 3: If the Big Ten wins a fourth straight national championship,
- 6:20Speaker 3: SEC diehards will crash out if they haven't already. Their
- 6:24Speaker 3: non conference record is eighty four, eighty four and thirty four. Postseason,
- 6:28Speaker 3: they're twenty to nine over the last two seasons. Versus
- 6:31Speaker 3: the ACC, they're nine and six. Versus the Big Twelve,
- 6:34Speaker 3: they're six and six versus the SEC ten and seven,
- 6:37Speaker 3: and versus a group of six, they're fifty three and five.
- 6:40Speaker 3: SEC comes in at number two. The SEC may have
- 6:43Speaker 3: lost its spot on the throne, but it's clear number
- 6:46Speaker 3: two in the conference rankings. It's previously noted the SEC
- 6:49Speaker 3: has an average ranking of twenty three point five and
- 6:52Speaker 3: the CBS Sports Top one thirty eight or CBS Sports
- 6:56Speaker 3: one thirty eight, with four teams in the top ten
- 6:58Speaker 3: and seven in the top fifteen, and it's in a
- 7:00Speaker 3: serd level of depth. He remains college football's top producer
- 7:05Speaker 3: of NFL talent, leading all conferences in draft picks for
- 7:08Speaker 3: the twentieth consecutive year and you look, maybe it's this.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I mean that stat you can live on SEC is
- 7:16Speaker 3: better because it's got more talent.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Well we know that. I mean, just look at the
- 7:19Speaker 2: NFL stats. Is the SEC hiring the right coaches? We
- 7:25Speaker 2: don't ever talk about that.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Have the right coaches been identified for the league? I mean, yes,
- 7:31Speaker 3: there's some really good coaches in the league. Kirby smart Man,
- 7:35Speaker 3: he's ten for ten. After that, I mean, Steve Sarkesian
- 7:40Speaker 3: is a good coach, he hasn't proven he's a championship coach.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Blane Kiffin's a good coach. He's never won a playoff game.
- 7:48Speaker 3: He's never coached in a conference championship game. By the way,
- 7:50Speaker 3: as a head coach in the SEC, hadn't done it
- 7:54Speaker 3: or any of the big conference of power for conference.
- 7:56Speaker 3: He just hasn't done it, obviously, Pete Golding and you
- 8:01Speaker 3: look at Jeff Levy and you look at you know,
- 8:03Speaker 3: other coaches. But then you look at John Summerng He's
- 8:09Speaker 3: he's yet to do it on the Power five level
- 8:10Speaker 3: or at the Power four level. What about Josh Heipel
- 8:14Speaker 3: at Tennessee good coach, hadn't played for in a conference
- 8:18Speaker 3: championship game.
- 8:19Speaker 2: You see where I'm going here.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Dan Lanning won a championship in the Big Ten, played
- 8:25Speaker 3: for another Big Ten. It's won some college football playoff games.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Ryan Day's done the same, Kurt Signette's done the same.
- 8:33Speaker 3: You look over at Michigan, they've got a coach now
- 8:35Speaker 3: who won back to back Big twelve Pac twelve championships
- 8:38Speaker 3: when it was the.
- 8:38Speaker 2: True Pac twelve.
- 8:40Speaker 3: At some point we got to start asking these questions.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Does the SEC hire the right guys? Maybe that's the
- 8:46Speaker 3: problem here when you look at the SEC, though, the
- 8:50Speaker 3: SEC has the second worst postseason record of any FBS
- 8:53Speaker 3: conference over the last two years. If only all the
- 8:56Speaker 3: other accolades mentioned it translated into national championships. The SEC
- 9:00Speaker 3: enters the twenty twenty six facing its longest title drought
- 9:03Speaker 3: since the turn of the century. SEC is ninety five
- 9:06Speaker 3: and thirty six and non conference games ten and fifteen
- 9:11Speaker 3: in the postseason, seventeen and eleven versus the ACC eight
- 9:14Speaker 3: and three verses, the Big twelve, seven to ten versuses
- 9:16Speaker 3: the Big Ten, and fifty five and five verses the
- 9:19Speaker 3: Group of six. We're brought to you by Vans Outdoors
