- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: What she discovered was it was actually going internal that allowed her to see who she is and understand, you know, the value that she has and began to change things.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so she said, it's about coming back home to who you actually are.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_01]: Instead of trying to change all these things that are you're doing or in your life or all these external things, it's internal.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Beat Till You See at Podcast, where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm also Logan, prize instructor, and fit this business coach.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: My friends, action brings clarity, and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: Each week my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it till you see it.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back to the beat till you see it interview recap or my coast and life Brad and I are going to dig into the liberating combo I have with Angie Hawkins in our last episode if you haven't yet listened to that interview feel free to pause because she's pretty cool.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: She's cool.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think she's cool.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: I also like really powerful story.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: Powerful story and thoughtful and like talk about a beat till you see it's story and she's helping people and so I mean you've got to listen to it you definitely should listen to it.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's, it's, if you're sensitive to talking about suicide, she didn't go into glory details, but like, yeah, that was the best part of her story.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: You can skip that part.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about it.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: You can skip that part.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think it also made it even that much more powerful, because it wasn't like she was an angst angst teenager.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know, she was in, she was, she had a, she had a, she had a, she had a, she had a,
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: corporate career and like even moved, you know, to a beautiful place to live and still, you know, was, was unfafilled and unhappy.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: And now today she seems like she, as, as, come a long way.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: Much different place.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I agree.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: I, you know, it's hard when it's hard when people kind of bring up that part of their story because I am like, oh gosh, I have like inserted a hate skip ahead 30 seconds.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: And also they're on the other side of it.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I do kind of feel like hearing the whole journey is important to like I want to take that away from people.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's it's it's it's hard to make the decision, but also I and I want people to speak really about their life.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I just
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: Everything's good.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: So today is April 23rd, 2026, and it's a love your thighs day.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: Love, myself.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: Love, they thighs.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, love, they thighs, self.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: Love, thighs, self.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: Love, thighs, self.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: This day is celebrated on the 4th of June.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: This day is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of April every year, and this year, it falls on April 23.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: Women all over the world have a love hate relationship with their bodies.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: They're constantly encouraging to love their bodies.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: In a society where beauty standards have been predefined and sometimes are unreachable.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, most of the fucking time, love your thighs, day seeks to mitigate this and tell all of them around the world that no matter what their bodies look like, they should love them because it's there to cherish.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's really interesting.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: This last year's award season, the women are getting a little to like on the two skinny side and I hate saying that's going to judge the 90s the 90s thing.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it's just really hard because like we grew up with that.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: So that was just like the norm and like whatever was a trying to be.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: And then we had this like moment where we're like, oh my god, that's like so unhealthy and like there, here's all the information.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: And like you can't like, you can't figure it doesn't mean unhealthy.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: And all these different things.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: And now I'm super seeing that again.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just it's hard for me to watch because I've also been to skinny.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, I get people who say shitty things to me because they my old YouTube videos are up and we don't take them down.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, I'm in a different body that I'm learning to love and and I like, I think it's interesting because people are like, oh, you used to be skinnier and it's like, yeah, I used to be younger too.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: I used to used to have a different metabolism.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: I used to live in LA like I used to not teach flies like there's a lot of use to so it's just really kind of interesting.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: The other thing that's really interesting is whenever they're trying to take your right to away, we talked about this before in the podcast, whatever they're trying to take women's rights way, if you look at the trends of what women, what beauty in women is, it's always the skinny body because they want you starving so you're not fueled in your brain to realize they're taking your right to away.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: The Tradwife.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: situation and being super thin, all of that coincides with every time they try to take women's rights away.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: And so I would just say like there's a great book.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's called The Body is not an Apology.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: The Body is not an Apology by Sonya and A Taylor.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: Excellent listen to on tape.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: If you are not a reader, beautiful book to read.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: She had a great interview with Renee Brown.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: Many, many years ago, because somebody attributed on a Sonya's quotes to Renee Brown and Renee Brown's like, that's not my quote who said that.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: Let's make sure we give it to that person.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: And the whole patriarchy would fall down, if we all as women stopped, bind into that there's a certain standard of beauty.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: All of it is all the smoke and mirrors that has a busy spending money and making sure we look a certain way so we appeal to people who supposedly have the keys of the king and the we're looking for.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: And so you can start by just loving your own face.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: show them off.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: I dig it.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we first moved to Vegas.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: I had a start filming in shorts.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I hated it because I could see my cellulite.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, oh, I really got that.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: And then one of our members was like, thanks for showing what real legs look like.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, oh, that's a compliment.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: But then.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: But but also then I was like, okay, that made her feel good.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: And so now I'm in a way or short.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: I was a beat till I see it into loving myself in shorts.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: And now I just wear these shorts and my thighs are bigger than you think.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: And you know what, it actually, I don't care.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I love them now.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: They're great legs.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: So I think you have to kind of be it till you see in some of these things.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: And you give permission for other people to as well.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: You got this.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: Go love your thighs, thick thighs, save lives.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what business sells that shirt, but there's a business that sells a shirt that says thick thighs, save lives.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I highly recommend supporting them.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a whole meme.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I got a sweatshirt from them.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I got t-shirt from them.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: And it's got the love that I self and thick thighs, save lives.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: So you can find one.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure so I'll make you one.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: You know what?
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: Mindy on OPC will probably make you one with Mindy's closet.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: So there you go.

- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: So tell me about Elevator.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so one of the members this year said, I'd like to thank Leslie for
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: her partner, we just get each other.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: And while I feel like we're the odd couple, she's really neat in her practice while I'm really messy and still trying to find my longest fine shape.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: She's so patient with me.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: I also feel that her classical background complements my content break.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: We definitely have our sessions filling so much more accomplished in the Prop Source series game changer.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: How fun is that?
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: How sweet.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think it's amazing.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: So you know that could be you.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: You could be like having fun with another person
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: We have had many, a, an unsought out to best friend.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: Match.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: We, we're connecting people who are going to work together for nine months.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then a lot of them stay connected afterwards.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: And we're, we love that.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: We think that's amazing.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: They still work out together.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: And also in the alumni group.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: They're just talking to someone in, in from, from group one.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_01]: Who still talks to her partner often.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, but all the time in three times a week now there are elevate grads from all the different rounds that work out together There are three different ongoing weekly sessions that happen.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah everyone stay at 8 a.m There are people in the UK, Florida, Colorado and California who work out together come on Sunday mornings There's another group of people.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, and then then there's one I don't know at the time the third group is that I haven't really seen it yet But I see that it's consistent.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's so much fun.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's great.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_01]: Awesome.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and also
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: The one of the groups has decided to watch their replays along the same weekend time as the current group is going through it.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: So, wow.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: So, they're watching their mat replays during the mat.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the way they'll just wrap the reform of their own, the reformer section right now.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's hilarious.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's great.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: Amazing.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: You never stop learning.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, before we get into this amazing interview, we'd a question.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: But flow, pull out.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's on Instagram.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: Ask, hi.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: Can you tell me more about the brush that you're using?
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have a link?
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the brush for my mat to clean it.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's for you, Matt.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was like a face, face brush, which is why I included it here when we're loving our thighs.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I, I'll give you all the brushes that I use.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: So, but I remember seeing this question.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: That's really fun.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: In that cleaning video that we have a YouTube video on like how to clean your equipment.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: We have a live and a long form.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: So, honestly, I use a baby's toothbrush when I'm very soft, bristle, babies toothbrush.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's the type of brush that I use for cleaning my equipment.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: For brushing my eyebrows, I use a spoolie, that's what they're called, and I use that spoolie to dye them.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I do.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's how they look this good.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: I dye them myself because who has a time for another appointment.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: For my hair,
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: I love the Mason Pearson, but Heather, one of our be at Babes, bought me another kind of brush that I can use in the shower, and it's a little, I'm a little bit tangler.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: So detangler, and I'm, it's the, one with the handle, apparently it's very famous for not having a handle, but I have to think of hair for that.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: So I like that one that she got me for in the shower, and also I'll take it on travel because I'm not worried about losing a very expensive British brush.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: What's the British brush called?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's at Mason Pearson.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Mason Pearson and that's what I think it's beautiful.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh my god, it's like a mid-century blue.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Mason Pearson, okay.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: Let me tell you how the best way to get that brush in the states, my friends, go to the UK.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: And, guys, if you know a Brett who's flying in, have them packet because it was it's so affordable until you put the ship in on it and then it immediately makes you order
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: No, but it works.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: My hair looks amazing.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if you're watching the YouTube video right now, you're gonna be like, let's see, is it?
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: We're three days out from my hair.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: Dye, so leave it alone.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, it's my hair is growing.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: I have very little breakage.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even have a hair cut for a year because I've had no breakage.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: So those are the brushes I use.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'm kind of thinking if there's another kind of brush.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I like a dry brush.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: Higher dose has a great dry brush.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: I just got copper in it.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: And you've got some funky things.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: Pure borer or the bup borer in nylon.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: Give them mix.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: I have the mix because of my full makeup in here and I have borne bristle, which is really great for getting the oil because I don't like to wash my hair every day So it pulls the oil out of the roots and then to the tips and makes my hair nice and shiny and healthy and all that kind of stuff But it depends they'll have a little information on their site for me some Pearson like what type of brush you get because there's a full bore There's a full like silicone or whatever and then there's mix, but I have I have the hair that needs the mix
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's there's board or nylon.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, nylon or here's what really like it.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's doesn't have little balls at the end.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: So when you're taking the tangles out, it's not ripping them or pulling the tangles and trying to not I, you know, I have type 2A hair.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: So if you have type 2A wave hair, you know, that means there's a there's a there's a rating system for hair.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, type 2A wave means your hair tangles.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's what it means.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: It means that the waves don't make any sense.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: And so when my hair is down, it just becomes a rat's nest within two hours.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: Don't even give me a scarf with my hair down or coat.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: That is a disaster.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: I try to do like a, I like a low bun.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: Why do I like a low bun?
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: Because a low pony is just a recipe for
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: a tingle that is just in a ponytail.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: So I have to even if I like make my hair wavy and do the wave into it, right now it's just going to be a dread like just dreads of wave knots.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: So party.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I think a patty hippo crush is maybe to the map.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, good.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: You're quite stupid.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: Use that.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: Well, if you have a question, text us at 310905-5534 or send it in to be at pod.com slash questions.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really a wealth of knowledge.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: I can give you the names of every brush.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: Be at pod.com slash questions.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: Leave us a win or a question.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: Stick around.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be right back.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to talk about Angie Hawkins.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about Angie Hawkins.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: Angie is the air glow coach and the author of raw memoir.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: running in slippers, which I thought was a great title.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: She explains that on the episode.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're interested in understanding that, go back and let's say they're not the slippers you think.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: They're certainly or not.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: She's a former corporate professional with over 20 years of experience.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: Angie Spett decades is a high-achieving people pleaser who chased external validation until a move from Chicago to Hawaii revealed that she could not outrun her internal struggles.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: After surviving, a suicide attempt and navigating a profound rock bottom during the pandemic, she left the corporate world to help other women stop seeking approval outside of themselves, and instead cultivate a deep sense of love, safety, and confidence from within.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so incredibly powerful.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: Really enjoy her.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: I really, really did.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: I, when we were doing the conversation, I was like, oh my gosh, how many other places can I help you be heard because like you're just doing great work.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: One of the things I love that she said is your inner glow is radiating in your own love and respect so much that it's actually radiating to people outside of you.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: So like when you really get that inner glow on, like it's kind of like
- 15:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's like when people talk about you and you're not in the room, but it's all good.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like they think about you and they just start talking.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, have you heard of this person?
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: Because your inner glow is so out there, people can't help, but pick up on it and like radiate it out as well.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: was she's also talking about like the people around her saying oh you're glowing and she said she didn't think like that it was anything particularly external that they were seeing.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: They were attracting she was you know because her her mindset was shifting so much it
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, yeah, everyone was picking up on it.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: And that's when they were saying, you're glowing.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: And no, this is how Angie and I are very different.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: She was glowing from the inside out and radiating it out.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you're glowing like, oh, my skin care, I'm so good.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: Ha ha ha.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: But like, but she, if you watch her, you'll see like, she's just got such joy around her and she's so connected to the work that she does and how it helped her so that she's helping others.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: And she emphasized that energy doesn't just stop at the individual.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: energy extends outward, inspiring others, and potentially raising the vibration of the entire universe.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: And you know I'm into that because I believe that if you do Pilates, you connect to yourself, you're more connected to yourself, you're not an asshole, you're not an asshole, than other people aren't going to be met with an asshole.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's one that's asshole in the world.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: And that's going to change your vibration.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: I meant, I mean, more pull out of these less assholes.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so she argued that you're either contributing to the world's negative vibration or you're raising it and I agree.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_00]: You're, I, I, I all think that there's like a middle ground.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_00]: You're either contributing your, you're raising it and I do.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: She also said that rating stuff love is a way to combat the chaos and negativity happening the world right now.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: You guys were recording this.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: There's a fucking ton of shit going on.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: It is impossible to describe.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's like when people ask how am I doing?
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: I have to go.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: compartmentalize first then answer.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like, well, if we take what's going on in the world out, I'm doing great.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing amazing.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: If you're going to add that back in, I don't even know how to answer that question, but like, but I do think that like it is something we can do with that bubble of influence that we can have, you know?
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so when she was talking about that there's a light inside of us that, you know, I found that really interesting like resonating to me.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the part of it is also, I have a couple of thoughts.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of like charisma, right?
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: We don't realize the risk, yeah, it's a risk.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: We don't realize how impactful it is or, or can be.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: And when we are, when we are
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: seeking perfectionism, like even if it's subconsciously or people pleasing, we're dimming our own light.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: And for her, she said she told us the story about when she almost died.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: She was with a friend and she said to her friend, I can't believe I'm not dead.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: And her friend's response was, it's not your time.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: to go.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: And she said, there was something in that moment that like really snapped her out of everything that she's been doing for decades.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: And she, shortly thereafter, you know, started making dramatic life changes and leaving her job and things like that.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: And she, she said that, you know, I think when people started to see the shift in her, the glow, they were talking about, you know, because she said, we are born with a light inside of us,
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: It does, it gets dim because of things of parents say, they mean well, but like, you know, you talk too much or you're just, you take too much attention.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, like, you be quiet and then like those are like all appropriate things, but like you start to internalize and depending on who you are, and then a teacher tells you, like, oh, that was so stupid, but you took it as I'm stupid.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: And then like a boss has all of a sudden like layers upon layers of these things that you internalize and your light just gets dimmer and dimmer because some, unless you have people around you to turn it back up, you know, or you, you've got to turn it back up.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: So I agree and it just gets hard.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think ultimately her argument was that a lot of the self-help stuff, she really said she did a lot of it like trying to like figure things out.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: This is like before the move.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: She's, you know, she said she did a lot of that stuff in her 30s.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: And basically she said it's almost always an external change that they're recommending and she.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: What she discovered was it was actually going internal that allowed her to see who she is and understand, you know, the value that she has and began to change things.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so she said, it's about coming back home to who you actually are.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: Instead of trying to change all these things that are you're doing or in your life or all these external things, it's internal.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know?
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, it is.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like, going back to like love, that I self, right?
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like, your external body is going to change.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: And yes.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: there's arguments of like I should want to be attracted to person when I'm younger that's a difference right but your the actual outside of you is going to change so if all you're ever working on is the outside stuff you're missing out like the inside is like should ideally just gets brighter and more profound and more knowledgeable and more connected and more entuned you know the series coming up about listening to your inner
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: voice your intuition.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_00]: And one of the things you can't have intuition is if you don't have experience.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why when you're younger, you don't have the intuition that you have when you're older, because you don't have life experiences around certain things.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that like as you get older, like that's one thing we have that we didn't have when you're younger.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's like this sense of experience of what's real.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I like that she emphasizes like going inward and getting to know that.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we've just fascinating to listen to her and also a little bit shocking because I didn't see that part of her story in who she is today, you know?
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's really interesting because it kind of took me by surprise, but also wow how much has she learned from that experience.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: So stick around, we'll be right back.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to talk about those really powerful
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: All right, y'all, welcome back.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to dig into these, be it actionized.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: We have with Angie, what bold, executable intrinsic are targeted action items?
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: Can we take away from that combo?
- 21:41[SPEAKER_01]: And she said strong boundaries is like one of the most important things, it's huge.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: And she said the hard part is not setting the boundaries.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: The hard part is enforcing the boundaries.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_01]: So you can make all the boundaries you want up in your head if you blow past them, it doesn't matter.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: And she said there's also people who will intentionally try to walk over the boundaries that you're setting and you know, and they'll just try to like, there's something weird about it.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like people like to break the rules and press, you know, they like to press or lock all those kinds of things and for today, her boundaries are.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: Usually, mostly, well, what you discuss was mostly around her work.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, yeah, I just don't coach people on the weekends.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: And she said that when people will ask, so just tell them, oh, sorry, yeah, I don't coach on the weekends.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: And she said, if they really press me on that,
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: They're probably not the person that I actually want to supply it because they're not just going to push that boundary.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to break everything or do none of the work that I'm working on them with like all those kinds of things that she's like yeah, so we're talking about this with our friend Michael who like also like coaches people like some of the things that people
- 22:49[SPEAKER_00]: like expect of things and like they just push and push and you're like, okay, I'll do this.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: I'll make this what's just what this one time.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like actually it's not like, I remember when I first are teaching Pilates people that I was crazy because I would not for a discount to people who paying cash.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, so what happens when one time they're like, oh, if cash, I just pay for a check today.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: And then they're like, oh, it's the same price, right?
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: Cause this is one time.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, it's never just one fucking time.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: Never.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_00]: Never.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, let me just see what I can get away with.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I'm not saying they're all trying to be nefarious.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's a conscious thing.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's like sometimes sub conscious.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, you just have to be able to say no.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: Also, if you don't know if that person's pressing you, you can also say, can I get back to you?
- 23:33[SPEAKER_00]: And then that way, you can take a moment to see, is this a boundary that they're crossing?
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, that was one of the best ways to get out of a tough situation is like, can I, can I think about
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: And to just say that because it gives you space where you don't feel pressured to make a decision in the moment that you will, you know, might regret later, and it allows you the space to, you know, actually like, like, mall it over and decide, what do I actually want to do?
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: And then, obviously, you still have to go back to them and respond, but it takes away that in the moment pressure, you know,
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, fine.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_00]: This is great.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_00]: Get ready.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: Write this down.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_00]: Three step process for personal transformation.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: This is Andy Hawkins.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: Three step process for personal transformation.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: Delight.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: I love this, by the way.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: decide.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_00]: Any meaningful change in your life comes from a decision.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, decide.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: You have to do it.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: Have to decide.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_00]: Without telecommitment, the wishy-washy energy leads to quitting the second it gets hard 100%.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_00]: Decide, you can't make a wrong decision.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to get you to where you're going to go.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to learn something.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_00]: Take action.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's all about filling the fear and doing it anyway, which is also in conjunction with part three.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: But, hello, if you listen to this podcast, you know that action brings clarity to saying, and then part three.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: nervous system regulation before you take action prime your nervous system you can do that by setting up straight breathing and she also suggested the goddess walk is walking into a space with ownership regardless of internal anxiety.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_00]: I have arrived exactly exactly.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_00]: I really I think that if I think that if you're a practical, so that's great.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: Anyone can do this.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: Just like take action.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, today I had to get up really early for a doctor's appointment and last night I decided I will wake up at, you know, this time so that I can make it on time to the thing and, you know, my alarm was accidentally soft don't know why I was soft, but somehow I heard it and I woke up.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's good to win that decision.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, thank God, because you didn't text me.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_00]: And so when you came into the yoga, you're like, bye, and I'm like, he got himself up.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: Ha ha.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_00]: Open up.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: All right, he's on it.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: He's doing it.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: Something amazing about making a decision.
