Hello, this is your PCJ pop, I'm Olivia, and I'm Shauna.
• 0:12
And so Shauna, what are you recommending to our listeners?
• 0:17
  Best of all.
• 0:18
Now that we are getting into spooky season, I'm going to recommend one of my all time favorite
• 0:23
  television shows.
• 0:24
  It is called "I Zombie".
• 0:26
It aired on the CW from 2015 to 2019 for five seasons.
• 0:33
I watched it every week, religiously, week to week.
• 0:37
It is where I found out about my celebrity freebie and crushed ruffle coley that I've
• 0:42
mentioned on the show many times.
• 0:45
So "I Zombie" is about a woman who is working to become a doctor, or she is a doctor, she's
• 0:52
in her residency program named Olivia Moore.
• 0:56
  Olivia, I never realized that.
• 0:59
She's flaked by the wonderful Rose McIver.
• 1:02
  She becomes a zombie.
• 1:05
And so she drops out of her doctoring job, brings up other beyond her doctoring job.
• 1:13
She quits her job, she leaves her fiance because heck, she's a zombie, what's she going
• 1:17
  to do?
• 1:18
She can't fit in, she's got to eat brains.
• 1:20
So she gets a job with the Seattle Police Department as a medical examiner so that she has access
• 1:27
to bodies that come in on a daily basis and can eat their brains without anybody being
• 1:33
  the wiser.
• 1:35
Little catch, she eats their brains and she gets flashbacks of their memories.
• 1:40
So she helps solve the murders of these murder victims, a lot of them that come through
• 1:46
them work or murdered victims because she knows she's a monster.
• 1:48
Most didn't need a detective zombie show.
• 1:51
Oh my God, it is so good.
• 1:54
It definitely filled the buffy void in my heart.
• 1:57
A little week to week monster, she has to eat the brains.
• 2:00
She sees flashes of these people.
• 2:02
She works for the cop named's plife who thinks that she's a psychic so that's pretty funny.
• 2:07
She can't say, "I'm eating their brains and getting their memories."
• 2:12
And then Dr. Shopper Body is played by Rojo Coli and he knows she's a zombie so he's like
• 2:17
  her best friend.
• 2:18
This show is funny, heartwarming, scary, gory, and it was just a wonderful delight when it
• 2:26
  was on TV.
• 2:28
And definitely a little of those CW vibes, like different than what was really airing on
• 2:33
  the CW at the time.
• 2:35
Yeah, so definitely gonna pop that.
• 2:37
So unfortunately, IZombie is not currently streaming anywhere but it is available for purchase
• 2:42
on Amazon Prime, Apple TV's and Fandango at Home and definitely worth it.
• 2:48
  What about you?
• 2:50
Yeah, so funny enough, I am also going to recommend a subversive little zombie movie as well.
• 2:59
You at a show, I have a movie.
• 3:01
But have you ever seen the movie "Cooties?"
• 3:04
  No.
• 3:05
  Oh my God.
• 3:07
Okay, this movie is so good.
• 3:10
  It is hilarious.
• 3:12
It has Elijah Wood, Rain Wilson, Allison Pill, Jack McBrayer.
• 3:19
  It also has Naseem Padrad.
• 3:22
It has Jorge Garcia from Lost.
• 3:26
But it is a stacked cast.
• 3:28
  I will say that.
• 3:29
But the entire premise of the show is a mystery virus hits an elementary school and it is
• 3:37
like all of these little kids turn into a feral swarm of crazy zombies.
• 3:45
  Oh my God.
• 3:46
So Elijah Wood is like a teacher within this and it really is one of the funniest movies
• 3:53
  ever.
• 3:54
It's like a band of like weird teachers.
• 3:57
There's like the PE teacher finding Elijah Wood's character, they're competing over Allison
• 4:02
  Pill.
• 4:04
And then in the meanwhile you have these little feral like tiny children zombies breaking
• 4:11
  out.
• 4:12
It is so incredibly funny and it is.
• 4:15
I love a zombie movie that doesn't take itself too seriously.
• 4:19
I just love zombies as a whole.
• 4:22
But you just see like these little kids getting absolutely burnt and they are murking people
• 4:28
  as well.
• 4:29
Like oh boy they are not afraid to punch a child out.
• 4:36
It is so funny in it.
• 4:37
He's the douchey PE teacher and it is absolutely hilarious.
• 4:43
So if you want a little spooky vibe but not necessarily scary I would pop it.
• 4:50
So for this week we are going to pop a zombie on Hulu and Cooties on Prime video.
• 4:59
And that's it for your PCJ Pop.
• 5:01
