- 0:25Speaker 1: Hi, and welcome back to Pinky Boo Hauntings. I'll be
- 0:28Speaker 1: your witchy host Shy, and I'll be your guide to
- 0:31Speaker 1: all things paranormal, weird and spooky this week. I actually
- 0:37Speaker 1: have a bit of a theme. It's the most obvious
- 0:40Speaker 1: theme for a paranormal podcast, but since I kept finding
- 0:44Speaker 1: stories about them, I figured why not make a themed episode?
- 0:49Speaker 1: So do you want to know what the theme is?
- 0:53Speaker 1: It's haunted houses. I know, I know, what a crazy
- 1:00Speaker 1: the original theme for a podcast that talks about ghosts
- 1:03Speaker 1: every week, right, But like I said, I kept finding
- 1:09Speaker 1: stories that sounded interesting and they all seemed to be
- 1:12Speaker 1: about haunted houses. So yeah, not the most clever theme,
- 1:17Speaker 1: but I hope the stories make up for the link theme.
- 1:21Speaker 1: With that all out of the way, let's get right
- 1:24Speaker 1: into our first story. The House that freaked out the
- 1:28Speaker 1: builders and landscapers. Hat is a little village near Canterbury
- 1:35Speaker 1: and story out on the old marshes that were once
- 1:39Speaker 1: the Onsome Channel. I probably butchered every single one of
- 1:43Speaker 1: those names. I'm so sorry. A few years ago, in
- 1:50Speaker 1: twenty fourteen, my landscaping company were called to do a
- 1:54Speaker 1: job in a beautiful house there. The house was a
- 1:58Speaker 1: converted barn and had been bought by the new owners
- 2:01Speaker 1: who wanted some work to be done there before moving in.
- 2:05Speaker 1: As is often the case, and let me guess, the
- 2:09Speaker 1: construction woke up the spirits and made the map. So
- 2:14Speaker 1: the first step was to visit the property and take
- 2:17Speaker 1: a look to come up with the price for the job.
- 2:21Speaker 1: There was a great deal of land surrounding the property,
- 2:25Speaker 1: with extensive gardens that had fallen into a state of disrepair.
- 2:32Speaker 1: After visiting the property, I returned saying that the place
- 2:36Speaker 1: gave me the creeps in that although it was empty
- 2:40Speaker 1: and isolated several hundred yards from the next dwelling, it
- 2:45Speaker 1: felt like I was being watched. Oh so they were
- 2:51Speaker 1: probably already mad that the property wasn't being taken care of. Obviously,
- 2:58Speaker 1: everyone laughed at me. I priced a job which was
- 3:02Speaker 1: a big one and would need us to be on
- 3:05Speaker 1: site for about five days, and forgot about the whole thing.
- 3:12Speaker 1: As it turned out, we were given the contract or
- 3:16Speaker 1: the guarden clearance in various tree works and we booked
- 3:21Speaker 1: in for a few weeks time. When we arrived on site,
- 3:26Speaker 1: there was a crew of builders there already who were
- 3:29Speaker 1: working inside the house and living there for a couple
- 3:32Speaker 1: of weeks while they carried out the renovations. Is that
- 3:37Speaker 1: normal to live in the house you are doing work for.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I get the owners aren't moved in yet, but I
- 3:43Speaker 1: don't know. That just sounds weird to me. When we arrived,
- 3:49Speaker 1: we set our hellos, and John asked what they thought
- 3:52Speaker 1: about the house. The reply was, it's a lovely place,
- 3:57Speaker 1: but it's haunted as hell. We laughed and asked why
- 4:02Speaker 1: they thought that. Hold on, why are you now laughing
- 4:06Speaker 1: at them after saying you felt watched? Didn't they laugh
- 4:10Speaker 1: at you for that? I think you'd at least not
- 4:13Speaker 1: brush off what they said. But okay. They told us
- 4:19Speaker 1: that all night they could hear banging coming from empty rooms,
- 4:24Speaker 1: Their tools were being moved around, they heard whispering, and
- 4:29Speaker 1: one had even received a phone call from a distant
- 4:32Speaker 1: voice that couldn't be understood from the number. And they
- 4:37Speaker 1: just put a bunch of zeros, so basically not a number.
- 4:42Speaker 1: He showed us the call record to prove it on
- 4:44Speaker 1: his mobile phone. Damn, they had way more going on.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I'm them that place is haunted and I wasn't even
- 4:53Speaker 1: there interested, but still not entirely convinced we got on
- 5:00Speaker 1: with our work. I'm sorry again. You even admitted that
- 5:05Speaker 1: you felt weird just walking around the place. You didn't
- 5:10Speaker 1: even stay there for long, and you were already feeling
- 5:13Speaker 1: creeped out. Why are you not believing them? I hope
- 5:18Speaker 1: the ghost haunts the shit out of you, and I
- 5:21Speaker 1: hope those other workers tell you I told you so
- 5:25Speaker 1: when you tell them how the ghost has been messing
- 5:27Speaker 1: with you or actually, I hope they laugh at you
- 5:32Speaker 1: and then tell you I told you so. Joe told
- 5:36Speaker 1: us that the backyard courtyard garden gave him the willies.
- 5:43Speaker 1: But apart from that, day one was uneventful. On day
- 5:50Speaker 1: two it was quiet in the morning. Then in the
- 5:54Speaker 1: afternoon I went inside for coffee. I hope the ghost
- 6:00Speaker 1: snatch your coffee over like laugh now, bitch. While I
- 6:06Speaker 1: was there, there was knocking sounds coming from one of
- 6:09Speaker 1: the back rooms. No one was there, but it could
- 6:15Speaker 1: well have been someone in one of the garden areas
- 6:19Speaker 1: knocking against the wooden walls from outside while doing some
- 6:23Speaker 1: job or another. Then there was a sound like wallpaper
- 6:29Speaker 1: being unrolled or a poster falling off of a wall.
- 6:35Speaker 1: It came from the hall, then out of the hall,
- 6:39Speaker 1: A shadow shot through the kitchen and out of the
- 6:42Speaker 1: front door. You know what would really make them believe
- 6:47Speaker 1: you're there chucking their coffee? Am I being too mean
- 6:51Speaker 1: to this person? Or do you think they deserve it?
- 6:55Speaker 1: Because for me, I hate when people feel something get
- 6:59Speaker 1: laughed at, and then when others have their own experience,
- 7:04Speaker 1: that person laughs at them the same way they were
- 7:07Speaker 1: laughed at. Like did it feel good when they didn't
- 7:10Speaker 1: believe you? Did you like being laughed at? Probably not so,
- 7:16Speaker 1: I don't know, man, Maybe don't do it to others.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Learn from that shit. I was alone in the house
- 7:25Speaker 1: at the time, and after looking at every angle, the
- 7:30Speaker 1: only way the shadow could have been cast was by
- 7:33Speaker 1: the kitchen lights in the middle of the room, but
- 7:37Speaker 1: there was nothing to cast it. I was starting to
- 7:41Speaker 1: become a believer. I mean, yay for finally believing a little,
- 7:46Speaker 1: but I still think you should apologize to the others.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I also wish that ghost would have thrown the coffee
- 7:53Speaker 1: at you. That would have made you a true believer.
- 7:59Speaker 1: On day three, Paul, one of the builders, was having
- 8:03Speaker 1: an argument with someone on the phone. When he hung up,
- 8:07Speaker 1: he said, I can't believe that the driver from the
- 8:11Speaker 1: skip company says he won't come here to pick up
- 8:14Speaker 1: the skip unless we can promise there's someone on site
- 8:18Speaker 1: to meet him, because he reckons he saw something here
- 8:25Speaker 1: when he dropped the skip off before we got here,
- 8:28Speaker 1: and it's definitely haunted, and yet you don't fully believe yet,
- 8:35Speaker 1: like there are so many people now telling you just
- 8:39Speaker 1: believe them. At this point. When he did arrive, he said,
- 8:44Speaker 1: when he dropped the skip off for the first time,
- 8:47Speaker 1: he knew the place was empty, but he saw someone
- 8:51Speaker 1: moving around in there, and while he was unloading the skip,
- 8:55Speaker 1: the radio in his lorry came on loud with a
- 8:59Speaker 1: load of static. Day four was quiet, apart from the
- 9:07Speaker 1: knocking and banging, which we'd all gotten used to by then,
- 9:13Speaker 1: even though it was louder than before and definitely not
- 9:17Speaker 1: one of us messing around. On day five, a guy
- 9:24Speaker 1: turned up to put in the new TV aeriel like
- 9:29Speaker 1: the Little Mermaid. I wonder if they meant antenna. Actually,
- 9:36Speaker 1: I don't know what they meant. Even with the contact clues,
- 9:40Speaker 1: I still don't know who knows. Maybe they did mean
- 9:45Speaker 1: TV aerial and I just don't know what that is.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And that involved some wiring being fitted in the back
- 9:54Speaker 1: room where most of the noises came from. A Few
- 9:58Speaker 1: hours in, he was having a coffee with everyone else
- 10:02Speaker 1: in the kitchen and said that he'd be glad when
- 10:06Speaker 1: he was done because that room was creeping him out.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I almost wish I was recording my face right now,
- 10:16Speaker 1: cause I really want to pull a gym from the
- 10:18Speaker 1: office right now, just looking right at that camera and
- 10:22Speaker 1: judging you. He said that he was sure he kept
- 10:27Speaker 1: hearing someone walking around in there, but there was no
- 10:31Speaker 1: one inside the house, let alone in that room. Final
- 10:38Speaker 1: thing that happened while we were working there was that
- 10:41Speaker 1: another contractor turned up to do some light fixings and
- 10:45Speaker 1: parked outside of the house. While he was in there,
- 10:49Speaker 1: his van radio came on really loud with a lot
- 10:53Speaker 1: of static, just like the skip driver had said happened
- 10:58Speaker 1: when he was there before. A few weeks after we'd
- 11:03Speaker 1: been there, the new owners have moved in, and John
- 11:06Speaker 1: and I went in to visit them and settle up
- 11:10Speaker 1: the bill. One evening after work, John was curious and
- 11:15Speaker 1: asked the owners if he was enjoying living there. He
- 11:19Speaker 1: obviously read between the lines a bit. Maybe he had
- 11:23Speaker 1: already been asked about the place by one of the
- 11:26Speaker 1: other contractors, and he responded by saying, it's a beautiful house,
- 11:31Speaker 1: but I must say it takes a completely different feeling
- 11:35Speaker 1: at night. It's not such a nice place after it
- 11:39Speaker 1: gets dark. Oh, that sounds like my childhood home. There
- 11:45Speaker 1: is probably a pissed off spirit hanging around there, or
- 11:48Speaker 1: something darker. We returned to work there a couple more
- 11:53Speaker 1: times on smaller jobs, but as the client's were living
- 11:58Speaker 1: there full time by then, we didn't spend much time
- 12:01Speaker 1: in the actual house itself. But on one occasion we
- 12:06Speaker 1: were in the kitchen in the evening having a cup
- 12:09Speaker 1: of tea with the owner when from the back room
- 12:13Speaker 1: there was a huge crash, like a wardrobe being pushed over.
- 12:18Speaker 1: The owner just put his finger up and whispered, Please
- 12:23Speaker 1: just pretend you didn't hear that. We don't want the
- 12:25Speaker 1: children to be scared. We do a lot of work
- 12:29Speaker 1: on repossessed houses no pun intended in houses going through probate,
- 12:35Speaker 1: So visit a lot of empty properties, often where the
- 12:39Speaker 1: owner has recently died. And I've never in over ten
- 12:44Speaker 1: years been creeped out by a place like I was there. Yeah,
- 12:51Speaker 1: either that spirit is just a former owner that doesn't
- 12:55Speaker 1: like that someone else has taken over the house, or
- 12:59Speaker 1: it's something darker that maybe feeds off of people's fears.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Whatever it is, that is why you always do something
- 13:08Speaker 1: to cleanse the house when moving into a new place.
- 13:12Speaker 1: It helps get rid of some of the negativity from
- 13:15Speaker 1: past owners. I mean, it may need more than that
- 13:19Speaker 1: to get the spirit out of the house, or at
- 13:22Speaker 1: least get it to chill out, but cleansing is always
- 13:26Speaker 1: a good start. All right, Why don't we move on
- 13:30Speaker 1: to the next haunted house and see what's going on there.
- 13:34Speaker 1: This one is called I lived in a haunted historic
- 13:39Speaker 1: house for only a year. It was bad. So this
- 13:46Speaker 1: was when I was about sixteen. My family and I
- 13:50Speaker 1: moved into a registered historic home that was two hundred
- 13:54Speaker 1: and forty years old. It was dated around when our
- 13:58Speaker 1: town was founded. When you first walked into the house,
- 14:03Speaker 1: you felt it. It was like an ominous cloud that
- 14:07Speaker 1: hung over everything. I'm not surprised with it being so old.
- 14:14Speaker 1: There's probably so much history and energy swirling around in
- 14:17Speaker 1: that house. The first experience I ever had was in
- 14:24Speaker 1: the parlor that used to hold wakes in it. I
- 14:29Speaker 1: know that it's normal back then, but it's no wonder
- 14:33Speaker 1: that would be the first place you'd have an experience.
- 14:36Speaker 1: That place probably held all of the grief and obviously
- 14:40Speaker 1: the death. I was sitting at the computer we converted
- 14:46Speaker 1: it into an office, and I kept hearing loud noises
- 14:50Speaker 1: directly above me. The room above me was my bedroom.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I was the only one home. I looked around to
- 14:59Speaker 1: make sure sure the dogs were with me, and they
- 15:02Speaker 1: weren't tearing anything apart. I initially ignored it and it subsided.
- 15:10Speaker 1: After about an hour, it started up again with more violence.
- 15:16Speaker 1: It sounded like someone was moving my entire wardrobe across
- 15:20Speaker 1: the bedroom floor. I ran up the staircase, but by
- 15:25Speaker 1: the time I got to the second landing, the sound
- 15:29Speaker 1: had stopped. I barged into my room and it was
- 15:33Speaker 1: completely silent and no furniture had been moved. Don't you
- 15:40Speaker 1: just love feeling crazy because it goes wants to mess
- 15:43Speaker 1: with you. Second event was a lot more terrifying. It
- 15:51Speaker 1: was at three am. It's always around three am. This
- 15:55Speaker 1: ghost loves their cliches, don't they. I woke up to
- 16:00Speaker 1: the sound of grown men arguing outside of my bedroom door.
- 16:05Speaker 1: The catch the only male that lived with us was
- 16:08Speaker 1: my fourteen year old brother. I jumped out of my
- 16:12Speaker 1: bed and flung the door open to catch it. Nothing. Dude,
- 16:18Speaker 1: you are very brave. I mean, I get it would
- 16:21Speaker 1: be insane for two guys to break in and then
- 16:23Speaker 1: loudly start arguing. But still my first thought would be
- 16:28Speaker 1: that someone was in the house that didn't belong there.
- 16:32Speaker 1: It would have had to happen a few times before
- 16:34Speaker 1: I realized it was fair normal. I definitely wouldn't have
- 16:38Speaker 1: charged out of my door in the middle of the
- 16:40Speaker 1: night if I heard something like that. I got back
- 16:47Speaker 1: in bed. After I stupidly locked the door as if
- 16:50Speaker 1: it would stop anything. It started again. This time I
- 16:55Speaker 1: went to my grandmother's and brother's separate rooms. They were
- 16:59Speaker 1: both for sleep in, all TVs off, the toilet down,
- 17:04Speaker 1: the hall flushed itself, and I ran back to my room.
- 17:09Speaker 1: I told them to keep it down. It's three in
- 17:12Speaker 1: the morning and they can go fight somewhere else. Actually,
- 17:15Speaker 1: they're dead, so they should just get over their stupid argument. Anyways.
- 17:21Speaker 1: The third event is where we decided to move. My
- 17:24Speaker 1: brother was taking a shower upstairs. While he showered, a clear,
- 17:29Speaker 1: perfect imprint of another set of feet appeared in front
- 17:33Speaker 1: of him. Oh you no, that is one thing I
- 17:38Speaker 1: have never liked. Ghost give me around me as long
- 17:41Speaker 1: as they're chill. Pretty much everywhere else but the bathroom,
- 17:46Speaker 1: especially when I'm taking a shower. Small things have happened
- 17:51Speaker 1: in between those events, but they really stood out the most. Honestly,
- 17:58Speaker 1: I don't blame your brother for how having a spirit
- 18:00Speaker 1: join him in the shower being the last straw. I mean,
- 18:04Speaker 1: all those other things can be annoying and scary if
- 18:07Speaker 1: you're not used to it, But there is just something
- 18:10Speaker 1: about in fading your privacy like that that can send
- 18:14Speaker 1: most people out of the house. But if you ever
- 18:19Speaker 1: find yourself in a position like theirs, but you can't
- 18:22Speaker 1: easily move because let's face it, the economy sucks and
- 18:27Speaker 1: stuff like that's not easy for any of us to do.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Right now, tell them that isn't okay that you need
- 18:34Speaker 1: your space when you're showering or changing or really anything
- 18:38Speaker 1: like that. It's your home now, and you shouldn't feel
- 18:42Speaker 1: uncomfortable in your own home. If the spirit wants to
- 18:46Speaker 1: stay there, they have to show you respect, just like
- 18:50Speaker 1: you should show them respect. Otherwise they're gonna have to leave.
- 18:56Speaker 1: So for this last one, it might not actually be
- 19:00Speaker 1: a haunted house, but by the title, I assume it's
- 19:03Speaker 1: still within a house, so I'm counting it. This story
- 19:08Speaker 1: is called My Reflection fucking moved So this happened when
- 19:13Speaker 1: I was fourteen years old. My house is not haunted,
- 19:18Speaker 1: it never was, but I am sure that in the
- 19:21Speaker 1: first years after we moved in, when I was nine
- 19:26Speaker 1: years old, there was a harmless spirit that still lingered
- 19:30Speaker 1: around at the time. Wouldn't that, by definition mean it's haunted.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I know most think it has to be something scary,
- 19:38Speaker 1: like it throwing things around or whatever, but a house
- 19:42Speaker 1: can be haunted by a nice spirit too. But hey,
- 19:48Speaker 1: that means this for sure is a haunted house story,
- 19:51Speaker 1: so it does fit perfectly within the theme of this episode.
- 19:57Speaker 1: I was in our second bathroom washing my hands, and
- 20:00Speaker 1: after I finished and wiped them with a cloth, I
- 20:03Speaker 1: looked in the mirror. I had no expression on my face.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I was just looking at myself, but my reflection kind
- 20:12Speaker 1: of tilted its head my head to the right and
- 20:16Speaker 1: gave me a big smile while looking directly into my eyes.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I am completely sure I did not smile or tilt
- 20:25Speaker 1: my head, and when I saw that, my expression must
- 20:29Speaker 1: have changed to pure horror, but the face in the
- 20:33Speaker 1: mirror did not. That is the kind of stuff I
- 20:38Speaker 1: was always scared of seeing when I looked in the mirror,
- 20:41Speaker 1: especially in my childhood home. I ran out of the
- 20:47Speaker 1: bathroom and I noticed that my reflection kind of just
- 20:50Speaker 1: stayed there. It did not run away along with me.
- 20:57Speaker 1: This never happened before or after, but it still has
- 21:01Speaker 1: me thinking why this happened and how is it possible?
- 21:05Speaker 1: Thank you for reading. Yeah, so mirrors are considered portals,
- 21:12Speaker 1: and maybe something was passing through. Maybe it thought it
- 21:17Speaker 1: would be fun to scare you, or maybe it was
- 21:20Speaker 1: testing the waters. Honestly, I'm not really sure what's going
- 21:25Speaker 1: on here because it is kind of crazy. It only
- 21:29Speaker 1: happened once, so unless the spirit that was already there
- 21:33Speaker 1: was protecting you, I don't know what to think about this.
- 21:39Speaker 1: All I know is you lived my nightmare, and I'm
- 21:42Speaker 1: so sorry you had to go through it. Honestly, you
- 21:46Speaker 1: probably lived a lot of people's nightmares. It is a
- 21:49Speaker 1: hoard trope, after all, or at least seeing something weird
- 21:53Speaker 1: in the mirror is. I'm sure it made looking in
- 21:58Speaker 1: the mirror hard to do after that, but hey, at
- 22:02Speaker 1: least it never happened again. I guess what do you
- 22:06Speaker 1: guys think? Do you have any theories on what is
- 22:09Speaker 1: going on with that mirror? Do you think a random
- 22:12Speaker 1: spirit found its way into a mirror or could it
- 22:14Speaker 1: be something else? And hey, you know what else you
- 22:20Speaker 1: can do? Tell me what you think about the podcast
- 22:23Speaker 1: by rating and reviewing, and of course the YouTube things
- 22:27Speaker 1: if you're on there, liking and subscribing really does help
- 22:30Speaker 1: just as much. Another way to help get the word
- 22:35Speaker 1: out about the coven is to share with everyone around you.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Even if they don't believe, we can make them a believer.
- 22:45Speaker 1: The more people that know about us, the more stories
- 22:48Speaker 1: we'll get to hear, which of course I want. I
- 22:52Speaker 1: want to hear from everyone and talk about the paranormal
- 22:55Speaker 1: with all of you. And hey, if there is a
- 22:58Speaker 1: story you'd like to tell, please send it in. I
- 23:02Speaker 1: want to know all about your hauntings, your bigfoot stories,
- 23:06Speaker 1: anything and everything that is weird and spooky. Send them
- 23:12Speaker 1: all to Pinky Boo Hauntings at gmail. The email will
- 23:15Speaker 1: also be in the show notes below, But for now,
- 23:19Speaker 1: the coven is adjourned. See you next time by
